- 2:49news. The Blue Envelope bill, aimed at improving
- 2:53communication between motorists on the autism
- 2:56spectrum and police officers, was enacted by
- 2:59Massachusetts legislators on Monday. This program
- 3:02allows drivers with autism spectrum disorder
- 3:05to carry a blue envelope in their vehicle containing
- 3:08their license, registration, and diagnosis information.
- 3:13Senator Joe Comerford, who spearheaded the bill,
- 3:16emphasized that this legislation ensures safer
- 3:18interactions during traffic stops, benefiting
- 3:21both drivers and emergency responders. The program,
- 3:25which was adopted by the Massachusetts State
- 3:28Police last year, will now be officially available
- 3:30statewide through the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
- 3:38Now on to sports. Tuesday was a fun day to be
- 3:43a pitcher at the 2026 College World Series. No.
- 3:483 Georgia and No. 16 West Virginia both tossed
- 3:51shutouts in their respective elimination games.
- 3:55Georgia's Dylan Veague struck out eight longhorns,
- 3:58while Justin Bird followed with four punchouts
- 4:01as the Bulldogs blanked Texas in a 2 -0 pitcher's
- 4:04duel. West Virginia dominated Troy with a 12
- 4:08-0 rout. led by Doss and Montessa's impressive
- 4:12performance. Each team will need two consecutive
- 4:15wins to advance to the championship series. The
- 4:19clash between North Carolina and West Virginia
- 4:22opens Wednesday at 2 p .m. Eastern time. In local
- 4:26sports, the Red Sox fell flat against Toronto
- 4:30last night, dropping the opener 6 -1 at Fenway
- 4:33and extending their losing streak to two. Peyton
- 4:37Tall gave up three earned runs over five innings
- 4:40while the Sox managed just four hits. Jaron Duran
- 4:45went deep for Boston's lone run, but there wasn't
- 4:48nearly enough firepower. At 29 -41, this team's
- 4:53struggling. They've won just three of their last
- 4:56ten. Tonight's the bounce -back game. Jake Bennett
- 5:00takes the mound against Max Terzer in Game 2
- 5:04at 6 .45. That's a tough assignment, but Fenway's
- 5:09been a refuge for Boston, and they need to show
- 5:11some life in front of the home crowd. This is
- 5:15a must -win mentality if they don't want to fall
- 5:17further behind in the series. The frustration
- 5:20around the front office is heating up, too. That
- 5:24Raphael Devers trade to San Francisco last year
- 5:27is being reexamined, and the real problem's what
- 5:30came after. The prospects Boston sent out? Kyle
- 5:34Harrison and James Tibbs, I .I. are looking like
- 5:38stars now. Harrison's a potential Cy Young candidate
- 5:42with Milwaukee, while Tibbs has 19 homers in
- 5:46the Dodgers system. It's a painful what -if that
- 5:49speaks to some rough decision -making. Meanwhile,
- 5:53the Celtics are making noise in the Giannis Antetokounmpo
- 5:57sweepstakes. Boston's reportedly made an offer
- 6:00for the two -time MVP within the past week. and
- 6:04is open to trading almost anybody but Jason Tatum.
- 6:08Miami's still the frontrunner, but don't count
- 6:11out the Celtics just yet. In top news, Jensen
- 6:17Huang, the chief executive officer of NVIDIA,
- 6:20emphasized in an Associated Press interview that
- 6:23society must adopt new social norms in the era
- 6:27of artificial intelligence, claiming that embracing
- 6:30this technology could enhance lives. He expressed
- 6:34optimism about AI's potential to drive economic
- 6:37growth and scientific breakthroughs, while acknowledging
- 6:41public concerns about job losses and the technology's
- 6:45risks. Huang advocated for government regulation
- 6:48and safety standards, prioritizing national security.
- 6:53He noted that the United States is lagging in
- 6:56energy production, critical for supporting AI
- 6:59development. and praised former President Donald
- 7:02Trump's efforts in this area. In business news,
- 7:06America's fertility rate has never been lower.
- 7:11Blame smartphones and these four financial realities.
- 7:16Having as many children as families want requires
- 7:19gender equality, economic stability, decent health,
- 7:24and confidence in the future. Families in the
- 7:27United States continue to have fewer children
- 7:30despite modest improvements in paid parental
- 7:32leave, the expansion of the child tax credit,
- 7:36and improved workplace protections for pregnant
- 7:38employees. In 2025, the number of births per
- 7:43woman, referred to as the fertility rate, fell
- 7:471 % from 2024 to 53 .1 per 1 ,000 females ages
- 7:5315 to 44. a record low according to provisional
- 7:57data from the Centers for Disease Control and
- 8:00Prevention. The rate has fallen steadily since
- 8:032007. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is unchanged
- 8:09at about $66 ,000. Ethereum is up 1 % to just
- 8:15under $1 ,800. And XRP is unchanged at $1 .22.

- 9:08back to the show. Let's talk tech. The Webb Space
- 9:14Telescope has captured its first bulge fossil
- 9:17fragment. This intriguing name provides new insights
- 9:21into galaxy formation. Recent developments from
- 9:24astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope
- 9:27focus on understanding the history of the galaxy.
- 9:31The latest findings confirm the existence of
- 9:34bulge fossil fragments, which offer fresh perspectives
- 9:37on the Milky Way's formation. Terzen 5, located
- 9:42in the galactic center, challenges astronomers
- 9:44due to its dense star field and dust. Unlike
- 9:48previously classified globular star clusters,
- 9:51Terzen 5 has experienced at least four distinct
- 9:54phases of star formation. Two older populations
- 9:58formed 12 .5 billion and 4 .7 billion years ago,
- 10:02while two younger populations formed 3 .8 billion
- 10:06and 2 .5 billion years ago. And in entertainment
- 10:13news, Hammy Cavill can hope to finally have a
- 10:17hit to his name soon. after several recent box
- 10:20office setbacks. The actor was most recently
- 10:23seen in Guy Ritchie's action film In the Gray,
- 10:26which grossed around $17 million at the box office
- 10:29against a reported budget of $70 million. Before
- 10:34that, he starred in Ritchie's The Ministry of
- 10:37Ungentlemanly Warfare, which grossed less than
- 10:40$30 million worldwide against a reported budget
- 10:44of $60 million. Cavell will reprise his role
- 10:48as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 3, which debuts
- 10:51on Netflix on July 1, 2026. Well, alrighty folks,
- 10:57it's time for the quote of the day. And today,
- 11:02our quote comes from the American poet and author,
- 11:05Langston Hughes. And he said, Hold fast to dreams,
- 11:09for if dreams die, life is a broken -winged bird
- 11:13that cannot fly. And that's a wrap for this morning.
