- 0:01Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the SODA Personal Training
- 0:04Podcast. We help busy adults get strong
- 0:07and fit and stay that way for a really long time.
- 0:10I'm Coach Sean here with Coach Phil again.
- 0:11How are we doing, Phil? I'm solid.
- 0:13Thank you. Sean.
- 0:13How are you? Good, good.
- 0:15I'm doing good. You know what we're bringing
- 0:16relentless positivity today. Seems like there's a lot of
- 0:19negative stuff going on in the world around us.
- 0:21It's cold outside, but we are heating up.
- 0:23Bringing positive vibes. I actually just stole your
- 0:24little line. Oh, you did.
- 0:26You did take it today we are talking about 5 clients who are
- 0:31having great success, 5 clients who are winning right now,
- 0:35achieving their fitness goals and how they're doing it.
- 0:38OK. And when I was prepping for this
- 0:41episode, I was like, I went down my list, right?
- 0:44Of all the clients who came and come here, especially the ones
- 0:47I've worked with, which there's a lot of you, right?
- 0:49And I'm like, man, we have so many right now who are really
- 0:54making really good progress. Definitely.
- 0:57Really good progress and this. Time of year too, like this is a
- 1:00tough time, right? These guys are knocking on the
- 1:02park like every every week consistently for and not just
- 1:06this month. Exactly.
- 1:08And you know, the and, and obviously the areas we're
- 1:11talking about progress is, you know, OK, burning body fat,
- 1:14getting stronger, improved energy, all the key things,
- 1:16right? I was going down this list and
- 1:19I'm like, I have so many to pick from to talk about right now.
- 1:23I actually came up with 17 totals.
- 1:25So 1212 didn't make the cut. OK, sorry, sorry to those 12.
- 1:30Well, and, and as we share, I think you put together this,
- 1:33this, this list of these people and kind of what they've
- 1:35accomplished. And it's like, no, they, they
- 1:37take the cake for for one reason or another, not to diminish all
- 1:40the efforts that all of our other members are are doing to
- 1:43work hard every day, but some of these are just like this
- 1:45deserves commendation. Yes, exactly.
- 1:49And So what we want to do, we want you guys to take away from
- 1:51this. You know, assuming that you're
- 1:53not one of the five clients, maybe you are, right.
- 1:55But what we want you to take away from this is we're going to
- 1:57go through, we're going to analyze how each one of these
- 1:59clients had a lot of their success, right?
- 2:02And because success leaves clues and ultimately you're going to
- 2:04see some common themes here that these clients have done very,
- 2:07very well to make the progress they have cuz.
- 2:10What I'd love to do, Sean, is like, cuz I, I look at this list
- 2:14a little bit, but I think before we even mention like what
- 2:16they've done, maybe what are a couple of those?
- 2:19Because I think when people hear results like this, they've been
- 2:22told, Oh, this is you got to do five days a week.
- 2:25You got to eat, you know, you got to eat 1000 calories a day
- 2:28to like earn these things. But none of these people have
- 2:30have done that, correct? Yeah, yeah.
- 2:32No. Well, that's, yeah, that's
- 2:33actually going to be one of the common themes is that none of
- 2:35these people have, you know, drastically they starve
- 2:37themselves or anything like that.
- 2:39None of these people have been in the gym seven days a week or
- 2:41anything like that, right? A lot of it is just built on,
- 2:44you know, sustainable small habit changes, right?
- 2:47Like literally everyone that I'm looking at right now, with the
- 2:51exception of maybe one of them on the list.
- 2:52But we'll come back to that. Right?
- 2:54Yeah, yeah. So how?
- 2:55Sorry, How did you want to do it?
- 2:56You wanted to kind of like you want me to go through the common
- 2:59themes first. Make the people wait.
- 3:00Well, I just no, no, I think I think we definitely can can
- 3:04recap it. I just want to go into this as
- 3:06people, before they even hear there's numbers, understand that
- 3:08like this, these people are coming in two to three days a
- 3:12week. Yep, right, all of them
- 3:13basically, except maybe 1. They're eating a slight like
- 3:16calorie deficit and logs are like weight, weight loss
- 3:19oriented. And, and yeah, again, the idea
- 3:22is it's been sustainable because they've been at this for for
- 3:25quite a while. Yep, which and then the
- 3:27consistency is another theme, right?
- 3:29So, OK, so we're going to talk through these five clients.
- 3:31And then if we have time for fun at the end, I'm going to give
- 3:33another special mention of a client who's having success in a
- 3:36different area and then go over some common themes as well.
- 3:41So let's do this and here's how we're going to do this, OK?
- 3:44Because this is always the way that we like to do this in this
- 3:46podcast. We're going to do this
- 3:48anonymously, OK? We're not mentioning these
- 3:51clients specifically by name. OK, we're calling them.
- 3:55Go ahead. We can see something.
- 3:56I was going to say, we got their Social Security number.
- 3:58We're. Going to go.
- 3:59Out so they know who they are. Right.
- 4:01Yep, Social Security address is very.
- 4:03Good, but not their name. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 4:05Social Security, address, pay, account numbers, all that stuff
- 4:07we don't even have. Yeah, we don't have Social
- 4:09Security numbers. Get you just another hot water
- 4:11right there. Not carry that stuff and
- 4:13everything else is. Encrypted OK OK OK in all
- 4:18seriousness, we're calling these clients client A, client B,
- 4:21client C, client D and client E OK and I'm going to go through
- 4:25kind of a description of these client so some of you might even
- 4:28know him like Oh yeah I know her I know him that's my friend
- 4:31right and some of you listening if you are one of these clients,
- 4:33you'll be like, Oh yeah that's me.
- 4:36And and again as we do this too, if at any point just because we
- 4:39in general don't like to mention the names of clients
- 4:41specifically on the podcast, but if you are one of these clients
- 4:44and you want to you know even come on to the podcast or you
- 4:47want to give us authorization to say your name on the podcast, go
- 4:50for it we will go ahead and do it but for now we'll keep your
- 4:52names anonymous okay yeah so some anonymous shout outs here
- 4:57basically okay should we go into client A?
- 5:00Let's do it. Okay, so client A and this is
- 5:04very typical of our client avatar here at soda.
- 5:06This, you know, as a woman who she's in her in her 40s, right?
- 5:09And she the, the, the key thing to know about her is she does
- 5:14not like lifting weights. She just absolutely does not
- 5:17like lifting. Weights.
- 5:19She does not like strength training and she started working
- 5:22out with me. It was, it was a rocky start,
- 5:24definitely, you know, in early 2025.
- 5:28She's been doing it for about a year now, right?
- 5:30And just at least she was honest with me about it.
- 5:32She's like, hey, man, like I, I hate weightlifting.
- 5:36She kind of liked other forms of exercise, you know, like, you
- 5:38know, just things like yoga and stuff like that.
- 5:41Just not into weightlifting at all.
- 5:43Not into weightlifting and you know her, she had a couple
- 5:46different goals, but like the main one was gonna be, she
- 5:48needed to lose weight, right? She was, you know, I'll go ahead
- 5:50and say the numbers like she was around £200, right?
- 5:53And wanted to get down somewhere.
- 5:54And you know, she's, she's pretty tall.
- 5:55So like, you know, get down to 15160, whatever, right?
- 5:58Would be a great goal for her. And you know, she's also, and
- 6:02this is super common among our clients.
- 6:04She's a really, really freaking busy mom and is really
- 6:09successful in business and like a lot of areas of life, right?
- 6:12Couple of kids. Yep, exactly.
- 6:14Yep, that on. Yep, exactly.
- 6:17And so it's like, OK, is there room for fitness in her life?
- 6:22You know, and she doesn't even like it anyway, because.
- 6:24She was doing, if I remember correctly way back, she was
- 6:27doing a lot of like spin, spin classes because it's like fun.
- 6:31That's like a really enjoyable piece, but it just wasn't giving
- 6:35her the traction she needed to like get that forward momentum.
- 6:38And then I think her hubby, who also now works out here,
- 6:43actually just bought her some sessions, I think just like
- 6:46messaged. Yeah.
- 6:47And then it it took like 3 months because she's so busy.
- 6:49She didn't even like, start for a few months.
- 6:51And then I forgot how it happened.
- 6:53But eventually I think we just reconnected and finally got her
- 6:57in. And then, I mean, the rest is
- 6:59kind of history. But once she got started, yeah.
- 7:02Is that actually how it went down?
- 7:03I didn't even. Remembered her husband first.
- 7:05Yeah, really. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:07See 'cause I thought when I OK 'cause now, like we just said,
- 7:09her husband been working out here now for a few months.
- 7:11I thought that he had no idea who we were when I talked to him
- 7:14the 1st. Time he didn't.
- 7:15He never came in until he started, until she.
- 7:18Started getting results and she was like, hey, dude, can she do
- 7:20this too? Yeah, yeah.
- 7:22Oh, man yeah. And and they'll know exactly who
- 7:24they are if they hear this because.
- 7:26And I'll just say the husband is the one with the ankle injury
- 7:28that has had the ankle injury. I literally told him that we
- 7:31were doing this type of episode today because I just trained him
- 7:34earlier. I I did not mention that his
- 7:36wife was going to be one of the clients that was on the list.
- 7:39And then, of course, you know, hubby, not to hate on you, you
- 7:42know, I didn't, I didn't put you on the list.
- 7:43You know, your wife's crushing it.
- 7:44You're doing OK. You know, you need to, he's
- 7:48doing all right. You know, it's always how it is,
- 7:50right? Like if there's a couple, the
- 7:52wife is always doing pretty well with the fitness stuff and the
- 7:54husband's lagging behind. It's the common theme, you know.
- 7:57So anyway, this client a, the wife of this couple, she did
- 8:02really, really well throughout all of 2025 and lost 45 to 50
- 8:07lbs, if I remember the exact numbers correctly, right.
- 8:09And is now, you know, very, very lean and, you know, has
- 8:13maintained a good amount of strength and also quit drinking.
- 8:17Has been, she's one of those people too has, you know, like
- 8:20with diet, it's like she barely has freaking time to get a meal,
- 8:23you know what I mean? But like, but usually what
- 8:25happens, the problem that people run into in that situation is
- 8:27they barely have time to eat. And then when they do get time,
- 8:29they binge eat or they eat the wrong stuff, you know?
- 8:32And so with her, it was really like, all we had to do was kind
- 8:36of make it so she doesn't totally hate coming here to
- 8:38strength training because like just getting that foundation of,
- 8:43OK, you're a strength train two days a week, right?
- 8:48And then the other dominoes kind of start falling into place,
- 8:50right? Like this is one thing that she
- 8:51told me is that, you know, she's a very driven individual.
- 8:55We have lots of, you know, clients who fall into this
- 8:57category, very successful, very driven, right?
- 8:59She even told me within like the first couple weeks of working
- 9:02out with me, she's like, you know, I just decided if I'm
- 9:06going to do this, I'm going to do at least do it really good.
- 9:09I'm going to do really good. And at first I was kind of like,
- 9:11yeah, whatever. I believe that when I see it,
- 9:12you know, because I've heard plenty of clients say I'm going
- 9:14to do this or I'm going to eat this way.
- 9:16I'm going to quit drinking. I'm going to do whatever, right?
- 9:17And I'm like, yeah, OK, whatever.
- 9:18We'll keep lifting weights. We'll see about that.
- 9:21We're going to keep. Supporting you, but like we're
- 9:23always like, we know this stuff is hard, so we get.
- 9:24It Yeah, we get it. She actually did it.
- 9:27Oh, yeah, she did it. Lion A you did it.
- 9:30I know you still don't like lifting weights, but you did it.
- 9:32That's right. Let's achieve the goals and you
- 9:35know now really is in that phase where we just need to maintain.
- 9:38We don't even need to go like just keep getting in for some
- 9:41strength training when you can. Now she does some of the soda
- 9:43fits too with the larger group sessions.
- 9:45Just get in when you can, even if it's only once a week and
- 9:48just keep decent habits elsewhere.
- 9:50Obviously the quitting drinking really helps, but yeah for.
- 9:54For like the meal thing, right, 'cause she's so busy.
- 9:57What kind of things did she do to make that part easier?
- 9:59Could they use like a like a prescription like meal delivery
- 10:03service or like, you know, ingredients?
- 10:05Do you recall? Not really.
- 10:07I mean, with her, and we haven't even talked about it a ton
- 10:09recently, but she just kind of leaned into like the high
- 10:11protein snacks, the Greek yogurts, things like that, you
- 10:14know? Yeah, but I, you know, I, I, I
- 10:17think, and I do think for her that the eliminating drinking
- 10:19was just such a huge factor in terms of just making healthier
- 10:22choices all around. Like she didn't have to change
- 10:25that much. Like honestly, unless I remember
- 10:27incorrectly with her, we never tracked macros and calories,
- 10:31never had to do it. You know, like with some people
- 10:34will need to because it's like the, you know, the you, you
- 10:37just, you don't get as much progress as you would like by
- 10:39just doing some strength training and, you know, trying
- 10:42to make some healthy choices. You actually have to track with
- 10:44her. I don't think we ever did track
- 10:46that if I can remember correctly.
- 10:47Well, that's the thing. Like if you stop drinking a
- 10:49strength train 2-3 days a week, like those levers being pulled
- 10:52are gateways to like other things that just happen
- 10:55automatically, like your sleep's better, like your mood's better.
- 10:57So you just make better choices without having to think about
- 11:00it. It's it's like this, this kind
- 11:02of trickle down effect. 1% that. Sounds like that was at play
- 11:06very much. Yeah, she crushed it.
- 11:08Fantastic. Let's go to client B.
- 11:09OK, so client B, I've shouted her out on the podcast before.
- 11:12She'll know who she is. She started off I I think I just
- 11:16looked at her intake form today. So when she started with us in
- 11:18September 2024, she was around 360 lbs and it struggled with
- 11:22weight for quite some time. Right now she's down to about
- 11:26285 or 280 something like that. So lost 85 to you know, am I
- 11:31doing the math right? 8080 ish pounds in the past, you
- 11:34know, 16 months roughly and has been on just like a really good
- 11:37pace with that, right? Because in the way I always say
- 11:40it to people is like, you know, if, if, if you need to lose
- 11:44weight, you need to burn body fat.
- 11:45Like losing a pound a week is a really good pace to shoot for,
- 11:49right? Like you can lose maybe up to 2
- 11:51lbs of of body fat every week. But like, it's almost
- 11:54unrealistic. Yeah, On the front end it, you
- 11:55know, people have a decent amount to lose.
- 11:57It's going to be maybe 2 to 4 lbs, but it slows down and
- 12:00eventually that 1 LB a week is like, as long as it's
- 12:03consistent, that's a fantastic goal.
- 12:05Yes, exactly. You know, so yeah, she went down
- 12:08from 360 to around 280 lbs now and, you know, much, much better
- 12:12mobility, very strong. To be honest.
- 12:15She was never weak. I'll, I'll, I'll be honest with
- 12:17you about that. And, you know, she's been
- 12:20training sometimes like I, my nickname for her is Clockwork
- 12:24because she's just like super consistent with, you know, she
- 12:27shows up three times a week. It's the same time Monday,
- 12:29Wednesday, Friday, right mom, and she's been doing it for over
- 12:32a year now. And you know, she's one that
- 12:34like also, you know, busy with job, gets in here, sneaks away
- 12:38for 35 minutes. She lives close, right, sneaks
- 12:41away for 35 minutes. Does the workout goes right back
- 12:43to work and just like trusted the process and just did it for
- 12:48a long enough period of time Now with her, you know, she's been I
- 12:53don't know if rigorous is the word, but like she's been very
- 12:56consistent also with calorie tracking since the beginning,
- 13:00right and her diet for the most part, it's been on 1800
- 13:03calories, right. You know, which for you know,
- 13:05female is is good. You know, you'll see some women
- 13:08who can eat more than that, some who need who, you know, eat less
- 13:10than that. But 1800 is is fine.
- 13:11It usually we'll put you into a little bit of a calorie deficit,
- 13:14especially if you're exercising right.
- 13:16And she's just like been on that for over a year now.
- 13:19Has that changed? A thing.
- 13:20Nope, exactly. And it's just working.
- 13:22And then the number on the scales is gradually going down.
- 13:24Her mobility is increasing every day.
- 13:26Her ability to go up and down stairs is improving every day.
- 13:29You know, like all the little things that we take for granted
- 13:31often times. All of the things because this
- 13:34was like, gosh, maybe three to six months ago, but but she'd
- 13:38come up to me and, and was like a little emotional for good
- 13:41reason, because she's very involved in her church.
- 13:43And she said, God, yeah, this is probably 6 months ago or more
- 13:47that she was able to like take some of the stairs in her church
- 13:51for the first time ever because before it was just, it was, it
- 13:54caused too much like knee pain. And that was like this huge, I
- 13:58think, light bulb moment, like a massive wind that helped fuel
- 14:01the next chapter. And this was, yeah, this is kind
- 14:04of the midway point, I think, if not a little bit sooner.
- 14:07So that was huge and eye opening, I think to what this
- 14:09stuff can do. Yes, exactly.
- 14:11And it takes those breakthroughs to really want to work towards
- 14:14the next step, you know what I mean?
- 14:16So now for I, I've got some lofty goals for her now that
- 14:18we're working on because in spite of the fact, so I, I put a
- 14:21goal out there there for her saying that we're going to try
- 14:23to be under 200 by the end of 2026, right?
- 14:26And so, you know, obviously that's a little bit more than my
- 14:281 LB per week thing that I just talked about, right?
- 14:31But I think what she's doing now is, you know, now I've started
- 14:35to ramp things up with her even a little bit more.
- 14:37So we're increasing her steps per day, right?
- 14:39We're sticking with the three workouts per per week, the three
- 14:43strength training sessions, you know, now she comes in here a
- 14:45couple other days a week to walk on the treadmill on her non
- 14:47lifting days, getting more steps at home.
- 14:49So now it's just like we're we're progressively, you know,
- 14:53we started off with the basics, right?
- 14:54And now we're just progressively adding a little bit more, but
- 14:57nothing that's unsustainable, you know, and.
- 14:59Just adding stuff to what she's already doing, tweaking little
- 15:02things across these systems that you guys will hear that there's
- 15:05a lot of consistency on between all these people and just in
- 15:08general, right, Has to do with sleep steps, workouts,
- 15:12nutrition, you know? Exactly.
- 15:15Client C, OK, Client C has also been on a really great weight
- 15:19loss journey and with him I actually, you know, I was even
- 15:23looking, you know, 'cause sometimes I for clients
- 15:25listening, sometimes I Snoop on you guys on your in body scans.
- 15:28I can look up you. We, we do these, these in body
- 15:30scans in here that measures muscle, body fat percentage,
- 15:32whatever. It's like plug in your phone
- 15:35number 'cause that's what we use for IDs, right.
- 15:36When did, when did Jack do the last in body scan?
- 15:39So I was snooping on this guy and he I don't think he actually
- 15:41ever did an in body scan. Like at the beginning.
- 15:44I don't think we did one, no, sometimes.
- 15:46We don't, we don't like force it.
- 15:48It's beneficial, but but not always.
- 15:50Yeah. And anyway, you know, he's been
- 15:51coming here I guess for about two years now or close if I
- 15:54remember. I I forgot to look up the exact
- 15:56dates, but but again, kind of the same thing as client B You
- 15:59know, with client C, he's been very consistent with the three
- 16:02workouts per week, right. And he's probably lost.
- 16:07It's like I, I don't even know the number in my head, but he
- 16:09just looks and moves like a different person, right.
- 16:12You know what I mean? This is.
- 16:15This first thing, one first e-mail I sent to this individual
- 16:19is in May of 2024. Yeah, it sounds about right.
- 16:21So it's been almost two years. Yeah.
- 16:23Year and a half. Yeah.
- 16:24OK. Yeah.
- 16:25And I mean, since then, you know, it's just, it's kind of
- 16:27the same thing as with client B. It's like you just, you know,
- 16:29from one month to the next, you're like, Oh yeah, another 5
- 16:32to 8 lbs came off. Like the weight is just
- 16:34gradually coming off, you know, moving better, feeling good, you
- 16:38know, with this client in particular, once again, you guys
- 16:40are probably bored of me saying this, but it's like 3 * a week
- 16:43strength training and getting steps.
- 16:45This client goes out for a walk every morning, rains nor shine,
- 16:48you know, 365 days a year, right?
- 16:51And he's been consistent with that the entire time.
- 16:53And, and so another point just seems off topic, but none of
- 16:58these clients that are on the list of these five, I just have
- 17:03to throw this in here. None of these clients that I
- 17:05know of on these 5 are on a GLP right now.
- 17:09Now we do have some clients and there are some in those, those
- 17:1212 like honorable mentions who are on a GLP.
- 17:15We do have some clients who are on GLPS and who are having great
- 17:18success with that as well. So I guess the point I want to
- 17:21make with this is like you can have success with the GLP or
- 17:25without a GOP if you have a significant amount of weight to
- 17:27lose. These clients that I'm talking
- 17:29about right here are, have not, as far as I know, they've been
- 17:32one of me specifically told me, no, I'm not, I'm not taking
- 17:34anything like that. But I just wanted to throw that
- 17:38in there because again, we, we have, we see some clients who
- 17:41have decided, you know, a GLP seems like the best thing for me
- 17:43right now. And that's great.
- 17:45If they, you know, take their doctor's advice and pair it with
- 17:47strength training just to keep the muscle, it can be a good
- 17:50option. With that being said, these ones
- 17:52that are on this list, as far as I know, have never tried any GLP
- 17:55or anything like that and they've all lost significant
- 17:57amounts of weight, right? Right, because it can seem
- 17:59impossible. And that is another lever to
- 18:02pull. I think the only difference is
- 18:04for some of these people pulling that lever of going the
- 18:06medication route, which again, there's no judgement.
- 18:09This is a tool. It's, it's good.
- 18:10And if it helps get the ball rolling like 100%, if that makes
- 18:14sense, that should be done. We're here to help, you know,
- 18:16reduce the amount of, I mean, lean muscle mass loss, the
- 18:19things that we've heard about bone density.
- 18:22But the difference is that or we can do this forever or not.
- 18:25And I think that's one of the decisions that some people have
- 18:28to make. Whereas, you know, eating well,
- 18:31sleeping well, working out, those are things we want to bake
- 18:34and kind of forever. But again, yeah, that's that's
- 18:38kind of the two cents on it for now.
- 18:39Yep, exactly. And like the other, the other
- 18:41pattern to point out here is, you know, all of these people
- 18:44are doing things that are useful, sustainable, but not
- 18:47overdoing it. Like I said, this client, see,
- 18:49you know, just three days a week of strength training, been doing
- 18:51it for a year and a half now, right?
- 18:53Does the walks in the morning. This is not seven days a week of
- 18:56three hour workouts. It's not like that, right?
- 18:58You know, and, and with him, in his case, he actually, he even
- 19:01admits to me he's like, Oh yeah, you know, I still eat some
- 19:03processed food. You know, he says it's like my
- 19:05diet is not that great right now, but it's better, you know,
- 19:07like we never, we didn't with him.
- 19:08We never went like hardcore with the diet.
- 19:11It's just more movement, getting some strength training, making
- 19:14some slightly better choices, sleeping better, you know, all
- 19:17those little things. And lately too, he's been, he's
- 19:19been taking advantage of some open gyms.
- 19:21You know, he'll come in usually for like a, a fourth day just to
- 19:23do like a little bit of extra like core stuff.
- 19:26But you know, so in the gym 3 or maybe four days a week.
- 19:31And like I said, it's just that same thing.
- 19:32It's like this is not a crash diet.
- 19:34It's not starve yourself for, you know, a month and then
- 19:38getting it all back. It's it's not seven days a week,
- 19:403 hour workouts. It's not like high rocks, like
- 19:43not so cardio stuff. It's it's like somewhat
- 19:46unremarkable in that regard, right?
- 19:48It's just like that's it. But it's been consistent and
- 19:51it's been predictable both in the behaviors and the outcome.
- 19:54I think that's what everybody wants because people start and
- 19:57stop countless times more than they can count on one hand.
- 20:01And. You'll just like, I just want
- 20:02something that sticks. And so it comes down to, well,
- 20:06what's, yeah, what's sustainable, achievable that you
- 20:08can actually see yourself doing for 6 to 12 months and not just
- 20:13six weeks or got six days, I don't know.
- 20:16Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly.
- 20:17And you know, this is a point that I was really gonna
- 20:20necessarily have to make, but it is part of it is just sticking
- 20:23with it too. You know, like every one of
- 20:25these clients has done at least probably at least 100 total
- 20:28workouts. You know, not, not like what I
- 20:30mean is overtime, right, 'cause we have some who've been a few
- 20:33of these have been coming here for, you know, 3-4, five years.
- 20:36Client A, for example's only been one year, but she's
- 20:37probably been in for 100 workouts, you know, 2 workouts a
- 20:40week for the year, right? Like, you know, it doesn't
- 20:42happen in 10 workouts, unfortunately.
- 20:44And that's not us saying that. Oh well, we want you to stay
- 20:46around forever. That way we could take your
- 20:48money. Like it's just the reality of
- 20:49the situation, right? You need to.
- 20:51You need to do the thing consistently for a while to see
- 20:53the results. We just always say we want you
- 20:55to do this as long as it's beneficial.
- 20:56And if some people have like, quote, UN quote, graduated,
- 20:59they're like, I'm gonna do more on my own.
- 21:01And that's for the most part true.
- 21:03Those people have continued to do well.
- 21:04But no, I think our average membership is somewhere between
- 21:09two and three years. Like it's, it's a long time.
- 21:11And that's, that's not because we force that.
- 21:15It's because it's beneficial for that long to delegate the
- 21:18accountability and structure and guidance to someone who knows
- 21:21how to get you on track and keep you on track.
- 21:23Correct. Act as the bumpers, if you will.
- 21:25And even if you graduate in training with me, if you don't
- 21:28get any more benefit working with me, you can train with
- 21:29Coach Blake. He'll push you 5 times as hard
- 21:31as I do. You know, if you want to learn
- 21:33about the biceps and the exact location origin insertion.
- 21:36Exactly. We love talking smack about
- 21:37Coach Blake. Love you, Coach Blake, but it's
- 21:39been a while. Since I've been pretty light on
- 21:41the smart talk, I don't know what's gotten.
- 21:42Into, I don't know, Client D. I'm going to whip through these
- 21:46last couple here since I don't have much time.
- 21:47Client D Client D is the one who climbed Kilimanjaro.
- 21:50Yep, Client D has lost. I don't know how much weight,
- 21:55but it's like every time I see him like Yep, you're leaner.
- 21:58Yep, it's probably like 25 or 30 lbs in the past like 6 months.
- 22:03And she's also really freaking strong.
- 22:06Was she pressing? So she was bench pressing the 32
- 22:09and a halfs, right? And this is like, you know, so
- 22:12for females listening, if you're doing like a flat bench press or
- 22:15incline bench press, like if you get up to doing the 30 LB
- 22:17dumbbells, pretty freaking strong regardless of age.
- 22:20And you know, and this woman is, I don't know exactly how she's,
- 22:23you know. I don't.
- 22:25Even upper 50s I don't even know.
- 22:28I guess we're not supposed to guess.
- 22:29I'm not supposed to guess that. I'm going to guess she's 52,
- 22:32assuming it's probably a little higher than that.
- 22:33And then she'll feel good about me saying 52.
- 22:35So client D love you now. I'm sure anyway.
- 22:40But you know, she comes to my noon groups and she's been,
- 22:43yeah, she's been absolutely crushing it recently.
- 22:45And like I said, is, is strong. See, this is like the, the, the,
- 22:48the always the tough thing about when you're, you're losing
- 22:50weight, right? It's like it's naturally you
- 22:52don't have that much strength. You're not getting that much
- 22:54food, right? Like, but she is strong and
- 22:57she's losing weight. Yep, right, Yep.
- 22:59I kind. Of say, I love this individual.
- 23:01She's been, she's been a member and some way she perform, I'm
- 23:04pretty sure before like the switch to SODA personal
- 23:07training, like she's been here a long time.
- 23:09Yeah, some little breaks here and there.
- 23:11She's coming with her daughter, daughter-in-law I believe too.
- 23:14But just consistent. She's one who's like, I'm just
- 23:17showing up, be ready for me. Right, which is?
- 23:20Which is great. Some people are like, I can't
- 23:21sign up. Like I'm not going to go.
- 23:23She's like, I'm just showing up. I don't care if it's.
- 23:25Just me or whatever. She's never signed up for a
- 23:27session. No, she didn't sign up for two
- 23:28years. Right now she ain't signed up,
- 23:32but she's getting after it. And I respect that.
- 23:34That's the man and the really thing.
- 23:35And I haven't even talked to her that much about diet either.
- 23:38She's just been coming in and crushing the weights and losing
- 23:40the weight like I, yeah, it's, it's been great, yeah.
- 23:43You know, 33, whatever, 3-4 days a week, something like that.
- 23:46And. Some weeks, sometimes, some days
- 23:47it's four days a week. She is coming in a lot.
- 23:49Then some breaks to hike a mountain.
- 23:50Yep, exactly. Little easy active rest hike
- 23:53that mountain. How about that for a big goal?
- 23:55Yeah, that that is something that's unifying all these people
- 23:57is they have they have some really big thing they they
- 24:00weren't working towards. And it's not like, well, I'm
- 24:03going, you know, it's not beach season, right?
- 24:06And and that's totally fine. But these people had like a
- 24:08really big, either physical or really meaningful the thing they
- 24:12were working on because the gentleman from before, like he
- 24:16had a trip to I believe it was Tokyo to see his daughter, if I
- 24:19remember correctly. And he's like, we're going to be
- 24:21walking a ton. He's like an I don't.
- 24:23He wanted to make sure that he could do that without anything
- 24:26holding him back. He's right.
- 24:28So just breaking those limits of of having to say, you know, I
- 24:32got to take a break and he crushed that one.
- 24:34And I was just keeping it going 100.
- 24:36Percent, 100%. Yeah.
- 24:39I whip through client E here. Well, no.
- 24:40I'm gonna give her respectful time.
- 24:42And you can take off to jump off a little bit early, but you can
- 24:45keep it rolling. No, no.
- 24:46Well, I gotta jump off too. Oh, we're gonna do like 4
- 24:48minutes on this client and then I'm gonna smack talk one of my
- 24:50other clients at the end. OK, so here we go, Client E OK,
- 24:54so this is a client also. She's been a member for a while.
- 24:57She's a small grouper basically now.
- 24:58And really over the past year, she really finally found her,
- 25:02found her stride and had that great success just in terms of
- 25:05getting the weight loss that she wanted, right?
- 25:07So I was looking at her in bodies, snooping on in bodies
- 25:10again. And you know, she's one who's
- 25:12been doing these in bodies pretty regularly with me just to
- 25:15see, you know, what's her body fat percentage like?
- 25:19And so to give you an idea like right now she's finally in that
- 25:21perfect body fat percentage range, 25%, which is great for
- 25:25female like between 20 and 30 is.
- 25:27Where she she wants to. Be exactly and you could get a
- 25:29little lower, but like this is really good, like really lean at
- 25:3125% body fat. Confident area, yeah, yeah,
- 25:34like, I like how I look and how I feel and what body does for
- 25:37me, but I'm not have to do anything outrageous.
- 25:39Yes. And and so you know, she's a
- 25:41little is taller than average, right.
- 25:42So 156 lbs right now. I probably shouldn't say the
- 25:45exact Ah, hell of it. I'm doing it right.
- 25:46I'm saying the exact numbers. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:48She was 176 in April of 2025 and then got down to 156 by
- 25:55November. So from 33% body fat to 25% body
- 25:58fat looks like a totally different person.
- 25:59And there was a time before she was actually a 192.
- 26:02I can't remember how long ago it was, but so you know, 36 lbs
- 26:05down total £20 down. Pure body fat kept her muscle
- 26:08mass over that 7 or 8 month period and really, and and she's
- 26:13another one classic our client avatar.
- 26:15You know, I don't remember her exact age.
- 26:17I mean, you know, late 30s, you know, super busy mom, I don't
- 26:22know, but super busy mom dentist now she'll definitely know who
- 26:26she is and you know, barely has the 30 minutes to get in for a
- 26:30workout. Sometimes she's like, she's
- 26:32like, I got like 26 minutes and I'm like, all right, well, let's
- 26:35do the two most important exercises for three sets each
- 26:38and let's go, you know, And she's done a great job of
- 26:43prioritizing the heavy compound exercises, squats, dead lifts,
- 26:49you know, pull down heavy press, but like, and some core work.
- 26:52But like she, she's one who has understood from the beginning,
- 26:55like I don't need a ton of variety in my exercises and I
- 26:59don't need to worry about all these little small muscle
- 27:02groups. I need to lift heavy on the
- 27:03heavy compound exercises, keep my muscle mass while I'm in the
- 27:07appropriate calorie deficit. Yep.
- 27:10That's, I mean, that's it. It's funny because I just
- 27:13chatted with this individual the other day and she was like the
- 27:16the problem she's having now is that she's like, I can lift so
- 27:19much weight that my my wrists are having a hard time holding
- 27:22all this weight. It's like how do?
- 27:24I How do I? How do I grab this barbell?
- 27:27Because everything else is strong enough.
- 27:29But that's now the weak link because yeah, she's kept gotten
- 27:33really strong, which is a good problem to have in a way, so.
- 27:37Yep Yep exactly. That is all that I have for
- 27:43these specific clients and the shout outs.
- 27:46I got this call with the with Rome.
- 27:48We're getting ready for our next seminar, so we're doing our
- 27:50intro call, but I'll let you smack.
- 27:52Talk, I'm a smack talk and I can mention the two clients I'm
- 27:54going to mention by name, right? There's there's two of them.
- 27:56I'm going to mention my name. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:58Get out of here. Get out of here.
- 28:00I'm going to smack talk these clients for three minutes.
- 28:02Aye, Thanks everybody. Here we go.
- 28:03OK, so now for the fun one. OK, there's another client who's
- 28:07been having success in another area recently.
- 28:09He's actually been doing pretty well with his fitness to I'm not
- 28:11going to lie, right? And I'm a say him by name.
- 28:14OK, You guys know this guy. If you've looked at the at the
- 28:17whiteboard back there at the back of the gym, OK, it's Jerry.
- 28:20Shout out to Jerry. All right, Jerry's coming in.
- 28:22So right now I'm recording this at 3:38.
- 28:25I'm going to try to release this right after this 3:38 PM right
- 28:28now, Thursday the 22nd, Jerry's in.
- 28:30He's in 6:00 PM group again tonight.
- 28:31OK, those of you who are watching the competition between
- 28:33me and Jerry back there, Jerry is winning this year, OK?
- 28:37He's winning four to two in the basketball shootout.
- 28:41US against me, I got him 35 to 20.
- 28:43We played 55 games in in 2025, but I got him 35 those times.
- 28:47But this year he's winning. He's up 4 to 2.
- 28:49And I even just won the sixth round in epic fashion, OK?
- 28:53Like, it was epic. Some of you guys like, what the
- 28:55heck's going on? What are you talking about,
- 28:56Sean? Those others of you know, OK, it
- 28:58was epic fashion. OK, So anybody who understands
- 29:01the basketball game knows that if you make more than 30%,
- 29:03you're really crushing it. You're really doing good, right?
- 29:05So I was like, if you make 3 out of 10, basically in this game,
- 29:09you're doing really, really good, OK, 4 out of 10, you're
- 29:11doing great, right? So I was O for four, Jerry was O
- 29:15for five. And then between the two of us,
- 29:18we made the last eleven shots in a row and I beat him six to
- 29:23five, OK, to get down 4/2 on the season.
- 29:26So he's up four to two on the season.
- 29:28OK. The Long story short of this,
- 29:29just a fun anecdote that Jerry is doing well at basketball this
- 29:32year. OK, And and the other thing we
- 29:36now have another client I'm going to mention.
- 29:37My name is Ganesh. OK, Ganesh is also a really good
- 29:40shooter and is the only client other than Jerry so far.
- 29:44I'm welcome to take on others of you if you'd like.
- 29:45He's the only client other than Jerry who has beaten me in a
- 29:49one-on-one basketball shoot off. OK, so now his name is up on the
- 29:52board as well and they are both in my 6:00 PM group this evening
- 29:57on this Thursday, OK. And I am nervous about it, but
- 30:01nervous in a good way, OK. Because this is going to be an
- 30:04epic basketball shoot off. And I don't even know how we're
- 30:06going to do it, if it's going to be all three against each other
- 30:08or if it's going to be me versus Jerry, me versus Ganesh,
- 30:10whatever, right? But the point is Jerry is having
- 30:13success in his basketball mini hoop against me fitness goals
- 30:20for 2026. So I wanted you guys to know
- 30:22that as well. So shout out to Jerry.
- 30:24OK? It's going to be a big game this
- 30:26evening at 6:00 PM. We're going to do the workout
- 30:291st. I'm going to wear them out a
- 30:30little bit and then we're going to have a shoot off again.
- 30:33And you know what? I think I'm going to win this
- 30:34evening. I think I'm going to win this
- 30:36evening. Make all ten of them.
- 30:38OK, Just wanted to throw in that little anecdote for fun.
- 30:41OK, Shout out to everybody. Shout out to the five anonymous
- 30:43clients that I just mentioned. Shout out to Jerry, shout out to
- 30:45Ganesh, shout out to pretty much everybody.
- 30:47Once again, if you are one of the clients, like how did I not
- 30:51make that list? I know I wasn't one of those.
- 30:53There's a lot of you who are doing really well right now.
- 30:55And once again, I think that we've just, we've upped the ante
- 30:58a little bit where we're, we're trying to up our game a little
- 31:01bit here. We're trying to get really good
- 31:02results in all areas. We're trying to get good results
- 31:04in terms of burning body fat, in terms of getting strong,
- 31:07improving mobility, pain relief, things like that.
- 31:10And we're trying to have a little bit fun, a little bit of
- 31:12fun as well because everybody knows that the most fun 6
- 31:15minutes of the day for me. And here are when I get to have
- 31:18a basketball shooting competition against Jerry or
- 31:21somebody else. So looking forward to that this
- 31:23evening. All right, thank you guys,
- 31:24sincerely. Thank you for listening.
- 31:25I hope you take something good away from this.
- 31:27I will see most of you in the gym here soon and we will talk
- 31:29again soon. Love you, peace.
