• 1:18
of the most famous soccer players in the world, Cristiano
• 1:22
Ronaldo. If you have ever seen a soccer
• 1:24
game on TV or played soccer at school, you've probably heard
• 1:28
his name. But did you know he holds some
• 1:30
of the most amazing records in the history of soccer?
• 1:33
Let's dive into his story and discover some cool facts about
• 1:37
the records. He is set until the end of 2025.
• 1:51
First, let's talk about who Cristiano Ronaldo is.
• 1:55
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santo Severo was born in Portugal, a
• 1:59
country in Europe, in 1985. He started playing soccer when
• 2:03
he was just a kid, and he was really good at it.
• 2:07
By the time he was a teenager, he was already playing for big
• 2:10
teams in Portugal. Soon, people all over the world
• 2:14
began to notice just how talented he was.
• 2:17
Now let's get into the records. One of the most amazing things
• 2:21
about Ronaldo is the number of goals he has scored.
• 2:24
Imagine you and your friends are playing soccer at recess.
• 2:27
Scoring one goal Feels awesome, right?
• 2:30
Well, Ronaldo has scored over 900 goals in official matches by
• 2:35
the end of 2025. That is more goals than most
• 2:39
professional players could ever dream of.
• 2:42
He is known as the top goal scorer in the history of the
• 2:45
sport. Did you know that Ronaldo is the
• 2:47
all time leading goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League?
• 2:51
the Champions League is a competition where the best
• 2:53
soccer clubs from Europe play against each other.
• 2:56
Ronaldo has scored 140 goals in this tournament alone, more than
• 3:01
any other player ever. That means he has scored in so
• 3:04
many important games against the best teams in the world.
• 3:07
Here's a fun trivia question for you.
• 3:10
Which team did Cristiano Ronaldo score his very first Champions
• 3:14
League tournament goal against? The answer is Roma.
• 3:20
He scored his first two goals in the competition in 2007 during a
• 3:25
famous 7 to one win for Manchester United.
• 3:28
Another record Ronaldo holds is for the most international goals
• 3:32
scored by any player. International goals are the ones
• 3:36
scored when you play for your country's national team, not
• 3:39
your club. By the end of 2025, Ronaldo has
• 3:43
scored over 130 goals for Portugal.
• 3:46
This is more than any other male soccer player in history.
• 3:50
Think about it, every time he puts on his Portugal jersey,
• 3:54
  there's a good chance he'll score.
• 3:56
Let's pause for a yes or no question.
• 3:59
Do you think Ronaldo has ever scored five goals in a single
• 4:02
game for Portugal? The answer is no.
• 4:08
While he has scored four goals in a game for Portugal more than
• 4:11
once, he has never scored five in one match for his national
• 4:15
team. Ronaldo isn't just about scoring
• 4:18
goals, he's also about winning trophies.
• 4:21
Over the course of his career, he has won more than 30 major
• 4:24
trophies. These include league titles in
• 4:27
England, Spain and Italy, as well as 5 Champions League
• 4:31
trophies. Not many players have managed to
• 4:34
win the top titles in so many different countries.
• 4:37
Let's talk about another incredible record.
• 4:40
Ronaldo is the first player in history to score at least ten
• 4:44
goals in the Champions League for three different clubs.
• 4:47
He did this with Manchester United, Real Madrid and
• 4:51
Juventus. That's like being the top scorer
• 4:53
on your school's team, then moving to another school and
• 4:56
being the top scorer again, and then doing it at a third school
• 4:59
too. Did you know that Ronaldo also
• 5:02
set a record for the most appearances in the Champions
• 5:04
League by the end of 2025? He has played in 183 Champions
• 5:10
League games. Playing in that many tough
• 5:13
matches takes a lot of skill, hard work, and staying healthy.
• 5:17
Here's another trivia question. Can you guess which club Ronaldo
• 5:21
scored his most goals for during his career?
• 5:26
The answer is Real Madrid. He scored 451 goals for Real
• 5:32
Madrid, which is the most goals any player has ever scored for
• 5:35
the club. Ronaldo is also known for his
• 5:38
free kicks and penalty kicks. A free kick is when a player
• 5:42
gets to kick the ball without anyone trying to stop them,
• 5:46
usually because the other team broke a rule.
• 5:48
Ronaldo has scored over 60 career goals from free kicks.
• 5:52
That's a lot of goals just from special set pieces.
• 5:56
His powerful shots and special way of kicking the ball make him
• 6:00
very hard to stop. Let's do another yes or no
• 6:03
question. Has Ronaldo ever won the Golden
• 6:06
Boot award given to the top scorer in the European leagues?
• 6:13
The answer is yes. He has won the European Golden
• 6:17
Boot award 4 times, which means he was the top goal scorer in
• 6:20
Europe for those seasons. Another record Ronaldo holds is
• 6:24
being the first player to score in five different FIFA World
• 6:27
Cups. The World Cup is the biggest
• 6:30
soccer tournament in the world, and it only happens every four
• 6:34
years. Scoring in five different World
• 6:36
Cups means Ronaldo has been playing at the top level for a
• 6:40
very long time. Most players are happy just to
• 6:43
play in one or two World Cups, but Ronaldo has scored in five.
• 6:48
That shows how consistent and dedicated he is.
• 6:51
Did you know that Ronaldo also holds the record for the most
• 6:55
goals scored in European Championship tournaments?
• 6:58
The European Championship, also called the Euros, is another big
• 7:02
tournament for national teams in Europe.
• 7:04
By the end of 2025, Ronaldo has scored fourteen goals in the
• 7:09
EUR, more than any other player in history.
• 7:12
  Let's try another trivia question.
• 7:15
Can you guess how old Ronaldo was when he scored his 100th
• 7:18
goal for Portugal? The answer is 35 years old.
• 7:25
He became the second male player ever to reach 100 international
• 7:28
goals, and he did it at the age of 35.
• 7:32
Ronaldo's records are not just about numbers.
• 7:35
He is also known for his leadership.
• 7:38
He has been the captain of the Portugal national team for many
• 7:41
years. As captain, he leads by example,
• 7:45
encourages his teammates and helps them stay focused and
• 7:48
positive. Let's do one more yes or no
• 7:51
  question. Has Ronaldo ever played
• 7:53
professional soccer in more than three different countries?
• 8:00
The answer is yes. Ronaldo has played in Portugal,
• 8:04
England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia during his career.
• 8:09
Another interesting fact is that Ronaldo has played more than
• 8:12
1200 official games for his clubs and country.
• 8:16
That's a huge number of matches and it shows how long he has
• 8:20
been playing at the highest level.
• 8:22
Most soccer players retire in their mid 30s, but Ronaldo is
• 8:26
still playing and scoring goals as he passed 40 years old.
• 8:30
Ronaldo is also famous for his fitness and hard work.
• 8:34
He is known to train for hours every day to keep his body in
• 8:37
top shape. He pays a lot of attention to
• 8:40
his diet, exercise, and rest. This helps him play at a high
• 8:44
level and avoid injuries. Even as he gets older, many
• 8:49
young players look up to him and try to copy his work habits.
• 8:53
Did you know that Ronaldo has also won the Balondor five times
• 8:57
by the end of 2025? The Balondor is an award given
• 9:01
to the best soccer player in the world each year.
• 9:04
Winning at five times shows that he has been considered the best
• 9:07
or one of the best players for many years.
• 9:10
Let's recap what we've learned today.
• 9:13

• 9:28
in five different World Cups and is the top goal scorer in the
