- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten woor filling
- 0:05Speaker 1: in for Mark, here's Ken Rosatto.
- 0:09Speaker 2: And very good Happy Independence Day to you today. Of
- 0:12Speaker 2: course it's being observed nationally, as you just said, Daria
- 0:15Speaker 2: talking about and you know, celebrate the whole it's two
- 0:18Speaker 2: hundred and fifty, Celebrate the whole weekend, the whole week
- 0:21Speaker 2: This is America. I don't care where you stand politically,
- 0:25Speaker 2: you should not hate the country. We're all part of America, right,
- 0:30Speaker 2: so for all part of America. That means that you
- 0:33Speaker 2: should If you hate America, you hate yourself. You should
- 0:36Speaker 2: love whatever it is about America that you love and
- 0:39Speaker 2: acknowledge that there are warts and there are problems. Everyone
- 0:42Speaker 2: and everything has warts and problems, but look at the
- 0:45Speaker 2: positives and celebrate that. You don't have to accept everything
- 0:48Speaker 2: that the other guy accepts about America and is celebrating.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Celebrate the things that you like and you enjoy and
- 0:54Speaker 2: you're proud of in America. And everybody, if they have
- 0:57Speaker 2: any kind of logical brain cell, can find something about
- 1:01Speaker 2: this country. And there's a lot about this country to
- 1:03Speaker 2: be proud of and happy of. So celebrate on this
- 1:06Speaker 2: Independence Day, a very good Friday, to you. I'm Ken Rozatto,
- 1:09Speaker 2: former New York City TV news Zachar I was on
- 1:12Speaker 2: Channel seven for twenty years. I was on Channel five
- 1:14Speaker 2: on Good Day New York before that, and it's just
- 1:16Speaker 2: so good to be with you here. Now. I do
- 1:19Speaker 2: a morning show over on on New Jersey, which is
- 1:22Speaker 2: a New Jersey TV channel ONNJ dot com. You could
- 1:25Speaker 2: stream it anywhere in America, and when I'm not here,
- 1:28Speaker 2: I do that. That's what I do to buy my
- 1:31Speaker 2: coffee and donuts on New JERSEYNNJ dot com. Stream it sometime,
- 1:37Speaker 2: especially if you're a New Jersey person, check it out
- 1:39Speaker 2: when I'm over there. We'd love for you to do that.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But otherwise, I listen to WOOR and have been a
- 1:46Speaker 2: huge fan of wires. Anyone here will tell you I
- 1:49Speaker 2: geek out when I see Curtis and when I see Lowry,
- 1:52Speaker 2: and even when I see my good friends Crash and
- 1:56Speaker 2: Izzy and Chris, and when I walk in the hallways here,
- 1:58Speaker 2: I get all excited because I hear all these names
- 2:00Speaker 2: on the ERA all the time, and finally I get
- 2:02Speaker 2: to see them in person. And I love coming in
- 2:04Speaker 2: and doing that. And what a perfect day to commute
- 2:07Speaker 2: into Manhattan from my lovely garden state of New Jersey.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It was like, is he how long did it take
- 2:12Speaker 2: you to get in today? Is he comes in from
- 2:13Speaker 2: New Jersey too? He's telling me forty five? All right,
- 2:16Speaker 2: it took me thirty nine. I couldn't believe it normally
- 2:19Speaker 2: takes me an hour and five hour. Intent it took
- 2:21Speaker 2: me thirty nine minutes. Because nobody's in today. And for
- 2:25Speaker 2: those who don't realize, the meter rules are not in
- 2:29Speaker 2: effect today. The meters are free, so you could park
- 2:31Speaker 2: wherever there's a parking meter. So I don't think a
- 2:33Speaker 2: lot of people know that. I literally pulled up in
- 2:35Speaker 2: front of the iHeart Tower, pulled right up, perfect space,
- 2:39Speaker 2: right there in front, got in. I felt like a VIP,
- 2:42Speaker 2: very important person today. So anyway, it's good to be
- 2:45Speaker 2: with you, Mark, enjoying the weekend. I hear rumors that
- 2:48Speaker 2: Mark is hanging out with Taylor Swift right now, helping
- 2:52Speaker 2: her get her dress ready and everything. That's you know,
- 2:54Speaker 2: Mark Simon, and he hangs out with the important people.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Me I just come and I fill in when he's
- 2:59Speaker 2: not here. But Mark hangs that with the important people.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It would not surprise me if we saw some some
- 3:05Speaker 2: pictures posted of Mark at Taylor Swift's wedding. I'm just saying,
- 3:10Speaker 2: I don't know that. That's not a confirmation. It's just
- 3:13Speaker 2: my gut telling me that that would be the case.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I could hear him right now saying, hey, Risotto, stop
- 3:18Speaker 2: it all right, or the Voice of New York. Our
- 3:21Speaker 2: phone lines are open. We want you to call and
- 3:23Speaker 2: take part in the conversation today numbers eight hundred three
- 3:27Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten. Others may be closed for business.
- 3:32Speaker 2: We are live in person and open for business eight
- 3:35Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten. Well, you heard
- 3:39Speaker 2: very stagic talking about it. You heard Curtis talking about it.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Larry's on VAK today. Good for him. The heat, of course,
- 3:46Speaker 2: we're in the middle of a heat wave. Could hit
- 3:48Speaker 2: one oh two in New York today. Crazy heat. It's
- 3:52Speaker 2: so oppressive. When you get to bed, like ninety two
- 3:54Speaker 2: ninety three, you can't even tell the difference. At that point.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Your body just says, ough, too much, too much heat.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I love the heat. I'll take warmth over cold at anytime,
- 4:04Speaker 2: but even I don't like it when it's this way stagnant, hot, humid.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It's just nasty and I know a lot of people
- 4:12Speaker 2: were getting on Mayor Mom Donni for saying keep your
- 4:14Speaker 2: thermostats at seventy eight. But you know, I think the
- 4:18Speaker 2: Republicans who were bashing Mom Donnie about that should actually
- 4:21Speaker 2: rewind the tape. And look, did you know that President
- 4:24Speaker 2: Trump in twenty fifteen, during a heat wave, said keep
- 4:26Speaker 2: your thermostats at seventy eight. Yeah? Also President Bush said
- 4:30Speaker 2: keep your thermostats at seventy eight. So, and I believe
- 4:33Speaker 2: Mayor Mayor Giuliani said keep your thermostats at seventy eight
- 4:36Speaker 2: during a heat wave back then too. It's actually standard
- 4:40Speaker 2: to say that. And I'll tell you why. Can you
- 4:41Speaker 2: figure out why is he? Do you know why they
- 4:44Speaker 2: say seventy eight? He's nodding, but he's not telling me. Yes,
- 4:51Speaker 2: is he nailed it? You nailed it, man. It's because
- 4:55Speaker 2: it's twenty degrees cooler. But why is that significant? It's
- 4:59Speaker 2: significant because even if you set your thermostat to sixty,
- 5:04Speaker 2: your AC unit really can only get you between fifteen
- 5:08Speaker 2: and at most thirty degrees. Most of them are ten
- 5:10Speaker 2: to twenty degrees. That's the best your air conditioning unit
- 5:13Speaker 2: will get you. So if it's one hundred degrees out,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you're probably not going to get Even if you put
- 5:18Speaker 2: your thermostat down to sixty, you're not going to get
- 5:21Speaker 2: below seventy five. So set your thermostat at seventy five
- 5:25Speaker 2: or seventy six because it's not going to make a difference. Actually,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you could burn out the motor if it just keeps
- 5:29Speaker 2: going and going and going trying to get down to sixty.
- 5:31Speaker 2: You'll freeze the coils, et cetera. You're better off just
- 5:34Speaker 2: setting it at seventy six or seventy eight. So they're
- 5:37Speaker 2: not entirely wrong. You ask any HVAC person, they will
- 5:40Speaker 2: tell you that you're the best. Air conditioning units, with
- 5:43Speaker 2: the exception of major big industrial office buildings, will only
- 5:48Speaker 2: get you about fifteen at most thirty degrees fifteen to
- 5:52Speaker 2: twenty typical. So if it's one hundred, one hundred and
- 5:55Speaker 2: two out, you're not going to get below like upper seventies,
- 5:58Speaker 2: even if you got the best big ole Oh we
- 6:01Speaker 2: got two zone air conditioning ken, Yeah, that's all you're
- 6:04Speaker 2: gonna get, especially your upper units. If you have like
- 6:06Speaker 2: a two or three story house, the upstairs is going
- 6:09Speaker 2: to be about ten to fifteen degrees hotter than downstairs
- 6:12Speaker 2: because the heat is going to be baking your roof.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Anyone will tell you that. So that's why, as much
- 6:17Speaker 2: as there are a thousand things to get them, Mayor
- 6:19Speaker 2: Mamdani for that isn't one of them. But here's where
- 6:22Speaker 2: I will. You knew it wasn't gonna be all good
- 6:25Speaker 2: about the kami, right, So Mayor mom, donnie what he
- 6:30Speaker 2: fails to mention because he's talking about the power grid
- 6:33Speaker 2: and the strain on the power grid, but he fails
- 6:35Speaker 2: to mention why the power grid is so strained. Yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you could say it's everybody using the air conditioning ken. Yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 2: but you know what, in the last twenty years, we've
- 6:43Speaker 2: switched to air conditioning units that are way more energy efficient.
- 6:47Speaker 2: We've switched to light bulbs that only use ten watts
- 6:50Speaker 2: or five watts instead of one hundred watts to give
- 6:53Speaker 2: us the same power. Right, We've switched to refrigeration units
- 6:57Speaker 2: that use half the power that the old ones used
- 6:59Speaker 2: to use. On and on and on it goes. So
- 7:02Speaker 2: when you consider all that, we should have tons of
- 7:05Speaker 2: leftover energy, but we don't. Why. There are a couple
- 7:09Speaker 2: of reasons. Number one, the good Democrats with their intention
- 7:14Speaker 2: of saving energy and helping save Mother Earth with the environment.
- 7:19Speaker 2: They have shut down fossil fuel generating plants, which are
- 7:22Speaker 2: the most efficient and reliable energy generators we've ever had.
- 7:26Speaker 2: They have fought to shut down fossil fuel plants and
- 7:29Speaker 2: New Jersey, New York, Connecticut every opportunity they could, and
- 7:33Speaker 2: then the most efficient and renewable resource we've ever created
- 7:38Speaker 2: for making electricity, nuclear power plants, any nuclear plant they could.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Southern New Jersey got shut down about seven years ago.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Indian Point under Andrew Cuomo couldn't wait to shut that
- 7:50Speaker 2: thing down, even though it was perfectly fine, it was
- 7:53Speaker 2: working great. Shut that thing down. That was like twenty
- 7:57Speaker 2: to twenty five percent of the power for the tri state.
- 7:59Speaker 2: For gods, say, came out of Indian Point. Shut it down,
- 8:03Speaker 2: and what does that do? That just put more of
- 8:05Speaker 2: a strain on the existing energy plants. So now every
- 8:09Speaker 2: time we have a heat situation like this, they tell
- 8:12Speaker 2: us to use less air conditioning. Now, how about we
- 8:14Speaker 2: authorize more power plants. How about we build another smaller efficient,
- 8:20Speaker 2: AI run nuclear power plant. You know you can't. You
- 8:24Speaker 2: can't wind mill and solar panel yourself out of an
- 8:27Speaker 2: energy crisis. Florida tried. Florida's the sunshine state. They got
- 8:31Speaker 2: more sun down there than just about any other state
- 8:33Speaker 2: in the whole Union except maybe California, New Mexico, and
- 8:36Speaker 2: Florida realized they had to have a combination of power
- 8:39Speaker 2: generating plants. They do have solar plants, lots of them.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But one solar plant takes a footprint that is ten
- 8:46Speaker 2: times the size of the equivalent fossil fuel plant to
- 8:50Speaker 2: generate the same electricity ten times the size, and that
- 8:53Speaker 2: is relying upon a full day of sun. If you
- 8:57Speaker 2: don't have a full day of sun, forget it. And
- 8:59Speaker 2: at night it does and generate anything. You have to
- 9:01Speaker 2: store in batteries that after a certain number of years
- 9:04Speaker 2: have to be stored in a landfill because they're no
- 9:06Speaker 2: longer rechargeable. So this becomes an issue. That's why solar
- 9:11Speaker 2: is not the end all be all, and windmills are
- 9:13Speaker 2: not the end all be all. The Republicanism is saying
- 9:16Speaker 2: we'll do an above you know, select all way of
- 9:19Speaker 2: looking at power. Democrats don't want to hear it. They
- 9:22Speaker 2: would rather shut down the fossil fuel and the nuclear
- 9:25Speaker 2: plants and just live in a cave just live in
- 9:28Speaker 2: a cave, rock back and forth eating bugs until we die,
- 9:32Speaker 2: as opposed to doing something practical. In New Jersey, Governor Murphy,
- 9:37Speaker 2: I used to love to call him, Governor Murphy, the
- 9:39Speaker 2: man worth seven billion dollars who needs a dentist to
- 9:42Speaker 2: fix those god awful teeth. Governor Murphy, right is, he's
- 9:47Speaker 2: looking at me and laughing. Have you ever seen go
- 9:49Speaker 2: online here? I defy you google Governor Murphy's teeth. Just
- 9:54Speaker 2: google that will they will pop there a thousand memes.
- 9:59Speaker 2: It's a I'll stop. It's not just crooked, it's like, eh,
- 10:02Speaker 2: like you never mind having met them. Man, very nice man,
- 10:05Speaker 2: he's actually extremely nice. I'm sorry to be so mean,
- 10:08Speaker 2: sorry to be so mean. Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Father Ryefs. And I just made fun of Governor Murphy's teeth. Okay,
- 10:14Speaker 2: I just had my confession. But Governor Murphy made sure
- 10:19Speaker 2: he and his Democrats, who control all of the state
- 10:21Speaker 2: of New Jersey, they shut down six power plants. Okay,
- 10:26Speaker 2: six power plants without us without a replacement. Five were
- 10:31Speaker 2: were a fossil fuel plants, and one was a nuclear plant. Now,
- 10:35Speaker 2: in the case of two of the fossil plants. They
- 10:37Speaker 2: needed some good rehab. And the question is do you
- 10:39Speaker 2: spend money fixing them up and making them more efficient
- 10:42Speaker 2: or just shut them down? Okay, I give that that's
- 10:45Speaker 2: fifty to fifty, but before you shut them down, you
- 10:48Speaker 2: needed to see that there was a replacement. No, instead
- 10:51Speaker 2: shut them all down, because that's a Democrat solution. If
- 10:54Speaker 2: it's fossil fuel, if it's nuclear, shut it down and
- 10:58Speaker 2: we'll deal with it later. So did they do to
- 11:00Speaker 2: deal with it? They ended up buying power from other states,
- 11:04Speaker 2: which is why New Jersey's energy rate per kilowatt hour
- 11:08Speaker 2: is one of the most expensive in the entire country.
- 11:12Speaker 2: So what was the solution from all the semi braindead
- 11:15Speaker 2: Democrat voters in New Jersey. Let's vote in another Democrat,
- 11:19Speaker 2: this time more liberal in Mikey Cheryl who. I get
- 11:21Speaker 2: a kick out of the fact that there isn't a
- 11:23Speaker 2: consultant on any of the big networks Fox, MS, NOW, CNN.
- 11:28Speaker 2: There isn't a consultant who knows what her name is pronounced,
- 11:31Speaker 2: as they call her Mickey Scherill. I've heard every name
- 11:34Speaker 2: in the world, including by her own Democrats. They don't
- 11:37Speaker 2: know the woman's name is Mikey Cheryl. Mikey Cheryl who
- 11:39Speaker 2: is terrified to come on the air with me no
- 11:41Speaker 2: matter where I go, terrified, and her pr person or
- 11:45Speaker 2: press person loves he has some clip of me, either
- 11:48Speaker 2: here or on New Jersey making fun of her. Well,
- 11:52Speaker 2: tough luck. Put on your big girl pants, Mikey, you're
- 11:54Speaker 2: now the governor, you were a congresswoman. Put on your
- 11:57Speaker 2: big girl pants. Talk show hosts will make fun of it,
- 12:00Speaker 2: like I made fun of Governor Murphy. I make fun
- 12:03Speaker 2: of Republicans too. Plenty of things to make fun of
- 12:06Speaker 2: with Republicans. Dot stop being so sensitive. Put on your
- 12:09Speaker 2: big girl pants and come on and take some questions.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I'm not going to rip you apart. I'm not going
- 12:12Speaker 2: to yell at you. I will be very respectful to you. Governor,
- 12:16Speaker 2: but Governor Cheryl, who doesn't speak like that. Governor Cheryl,
- 12:22Speaker 2: you know the idea that she would sit here and say,
- 12:25Speaker 2: we will have a solution on day one for the
- 12:27Speaker 2: energy crisis. What was the solution? Typical Democrat solution. Let's
- 12:31Speaker 2: empower a panel so this way she could say she's
- 12:34Speaker 2: doing something, and all it is is to do nothing.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Speak group who gets together it will take them two
- 12:39Speaker 2: years to come up with a report that's going to
- 12:41Speaker 2: cost us thirty million dollars and it's not going to
- 12:43Speaker 2: do a damn thing. The only thing she did allow
- 12:46Speaker 2: was to research, research what it would be to open
- 12:51Speaker 2: a small, efficient nuclear power plant. Didn't mean we're going
- 12:54Speaker 2: to do it. It's so that she could shut her
- 12:57Speaker 2: opponents up and say, look, we're researching it right now. Yeah, okay,
- 13:01Speaker 2: so by the time you and I are both dead,
- 13:04Speaker 2: we'll get a report from Governor Cheryl telling us what
- 13:07Speaker 2: the research showed about having a small nuclear power plant
- 13:10Speaker 2: New Jersey. We had a big one. We know what
- 13:12Speaker 2: the research tells us the idea. Now we have companies
- 13:15Speaker 2: telling us that using AI, you can have much smaller,
- 13:18Speaker 2: much more efficient, much better built and run nuclear power
- 13:21Speaker 2: facilities that you don't have to worry about.
- 13:24Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:24Speaker 2: The reason why we had the problem with three Mile Island. Literally,
- 13:28Speaker 2: the guys at the switch at two o'clock in the
- 13:30Speaker 2: morning fell asleep. That's why look it up. Go online,
- 13:34Speaker 2: go take a look at their videos. You could see
- 13:36Speaker 2: on YouTube about what happened at three Mile Island. They
- 13:38Speaker 2: fell asleep and they didn't notice the big dials behind
- 13:42Speaker 2: them going the temperature of the core was rising. These
- 13:46Speaker 2: guys were sound asleep. That's what happened. If you have
- 13:49Speaker 2: AI monitoring those things twenty four to seven, that thing
- 13:52Speaker 2: goes up a tenth of a degree, you'll know about it.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Everybody will know about it. That's the difference. A nuclear
- 13:58Speaker 2: power facility today would not be run like it was
- 14:02Speaker 2: fifty years ago. And that's what Three Mile Islands technology
- 14:05Speaker 2: was fifty years ago. That's why running up. Instead of
- 14:08Speaker 2: having one giant nuclear facility, we're talking about proposing a
- 14:12Speaker 2: number of smaller facilities that are much easier to maintain,
- 14:15Speaker 2: much easier to build. Instead of taking ten years to
- 14:18Speaker 2: build and ten years to get online, these things could
- 14:20Speaker 2: be built in a year or two and would be
- 14:22Speaker 2: online a year or two after that. But you have
- 14:25Speaker 2: to have the forethought, You have to have the open
- 14:27Speaker 2: mindedness that a Republican administration has when it comes to energy,
- 14:31Speaker 2: as opposed to Democrats who literally just want us to
- 14:33Speaker 2: go back to the Stone Age or crawl in a
- 14:35Speaker 2: cave and die, because in their view, every life form
- 14:38Speaker 2: on the planet deserves the rule of survival of the fittest,
- 14:41Speaker 2: except for humans. Humans, we're not entitled to that. We
- 14:44Speaker 2: don't deserve to be here. It's all about guilt and
- 14:47Speaker 2: self flagellation. With Democrats, we're the evil, bad people, especially
- 14:51Speaker 2: white males. Among all of the group, white males the worst,
- 14:54Speaker 2: and everybody else kind of falls in line after that.
- 14:57Speaker 2: That's the way the modern Democrat Party looks at things.
- 15:00Speaker 2: WO are the voice of New York. We are wide
- 15:03Speaker 2: open to take your calls. Eight hundred three to two
- 15:05Speaker 2: one zero seven ten eight hundred three two one zero
- 15:09Speaker 2: seven ten case you didn't hear Ray Stagic earlier, sunny, hot, humid. Today,
- 15:14Speaker 2: the heat wave continues. Highs today one hundred to one
- 15:17Speaker 2: hundred and two degrees humidity, making it feel even hotter
- 15:20Speaker 2: than that. Maybe a late day thunderstorm today and tomorrow,
- 15:25Speaker 2: we hope not tomorrow. Tomorrow's the big fireworks show. Remember
- 15:28Speaker 2: the fireworks are going to be both at the East
- 15:30Speaker 2: River and the Hudson River. Did you know that is
- 15:32Speaker 2: he It's gonna be in both. Uh huh. So you
- 15:34Speaker 2: know some years they pick East River, some years they
- 15:36Speaker 2: pick Hudson River. This is the two fiftieth of America.
- 15:38Speaker 2: They said, heck, Macy's said, let's do both. So they're
- 15:42Speaker 2: gonna have the fireworks going off both the East River
- 15:44Speaker 2: and the Hudson River and off of the Brooklyn Bridge,
- 15:47Speaker 2: and a laser show. It's gonna be amazing. We just
- 15:51Speaker 2: hope the weather cooperates. Keep your fingers crossed and come
- 15:54Speaker 2: ou up. A little bit later, we'll speak with the
- 15:56Speaker 2: great Roger Friedman from Showbiz four to one one talk
- 15:59Speaker 2: about all the latest entertainment news, including the Swift wedding.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I bet he knows everything about it. Your calls oo
- 16:05Speaker 2: coming up next, just a couple of minutes from now
- 16:06Speaker 2: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. It's
- 16:09Speaker 2: ten twenty one seven ten. Wor coming right back.
- 16:12Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven ten wor
- 16:16Speaker 1: Ken from Mark Today.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Here's Ken, Roseauda and Ice to be with you on
- 16:21Speaker 2: this very hot observance of the fourth of July. Here
- 16:25Speaker 2: on the third, let's go to our busy phones. Bob
- 16:26Speaker 2: in mont Valley, Jersey, right by the Rockland border. Good
- 16:29Speaker 2: morning Bob to you, Oh, good morning.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yes, I can see Rockland from my kitchen window.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Here people remember the reference. That's the question. I can
- 16:39Speaker 2: see what is that? I can see Russia from my house.
- 16:43Speaker 4: That's yes, soul Sarah Pellin. But two quick things, if
- 16:48Speaker 4: I may. You know you mentioned about the helicopter pilot governor.
- 16:52Speaker 4: She did the same thing with New Jersey Transit. You
- 16:55Speaker 4: said she's gonna fix it, and in day one she
- 16:58Speaker 4: puts out a question neared to people. And you know
- 17:01Speaker 4: how it ended up is the fares went up yesterday
- 17:04Speaker 4: and the service went.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Down three percent. And by the way, you do know,
- 17:07Speaker 2: I don't need to step on your bob. They built
- 17:09Speaker 2: in this is the Democrat's cute little trick. They built
- 17:13Speaker 2: in an automatic three percent annual fare hike, no matter what,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and there's no end in sight. It goes on and
- 17:20Speaker 2: on and on, and the governor has the right to
- 17:23Speaker 2: hike the fair even more, but there is a minimum
- 17:26Speaker 2: three Basically, they call it like an inflation correction every
- 17:31Speaker 2: year three percent. Well what if inflation is only two percent?
- 17:33Speaker 2: This is this is the way they play the game.
- 17:37Speaker 4: No, I know, and you know, And I'm glad you
- 17:39Speaker 4: bring that up because I am aware of that. Unfortunately,
- 17:43Speaker 4: I don't think anybody else is. But if I can
- 17:46Speaker 4: bring up the point about these data centers and stuff,
- 17:49Speaker 4: especially in New York, people are so onto it. You
- 17:52Speaker 4: know in New York, they gave farm is a lot
- 17:55Speaker 4: of like regulations and a hard time to farm and
- 17:58Speaker 4: to like get from from dairy to beef to agriculture.
- 18:02Speaker 4: And now they're turning farms in upstate New York into
- 18:06Speaker 4: solar farms and people are clueless about that. Now what's
- 18:11Speaker 4: worse a data center or now scoffing up land that
- 18:15Speaker 4: is like growing food. People don't realize New York is
- 18:19Speaker 4: a great resource of food agriculture and now it's being
- 18:23Speaker 4: turned into acres and acres of solar farms. And all
- 18:28Speaker 4: we hear, like Curtis and Larry talk about, is oh
- 18:33Speaker 4: data centered, data cated data center. But they they're ruining
- 18:38Speaker 4: paradise upstate New York with solar panels, folks, and people
- 18:43Speaker 4: are just clueless.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Bob, those are excellent points. And in fact, yesterday I
- 18:47Speaker 2: don't know if you heard, we had On Fisher, who's
- 18:50Speaker 2: a tech guy that I have on my show in
- 18:53Speaker 2: New Jersey all the time at o NNJ dot com.
- 18:55Speaker 2: By the way, you live in New Jersey, sermon, I
- 18:56Speaker 2: want to check it out o NNJ dot com. Every day.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Do the show. Thank you, sir, so as do I so.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Fisher was on yesterday talking about the fact that there
- 19:08Speaker 2: is a proposal by mister Musk to have a million
- 19:13Speaker 2: satellites called AI one satellites that would be data centers.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Now here's the way it would work. Because space is
- 19:21Speaker 2: ice coal, there's zero degrees unless you're pointing at a star,
- 19:24Speaker 2: then it's a zillion degrees. It doesn't need to be
- 19:27Speaker 2: cooled by water like we would need on Earth, and
- 19:30Speaker 2: the solar panels would be out taking free electricity twenty
- 19:34Speaker 2: four to seven from the star, from the Sun or
- 19:36Speaker 2: whatever starts pointed at and then it would just beam
- 19:39Speaker 2: the data back and forth from the satellite. Now you
- 19:42Speaker 2: could say, what if it gets intercepted, Well, you know
- 19:44Speaker 2: everything can get intercepted. So whatever the thing is, if
- 19:47Speaker 2: you have a million of these satellites all doing a
- 19:49Speaker 2: little bit of the data processing at the same time,
- 19:51Speaker 2: you'd solve the problems of the data centers and you
- 19:54Speaker 2: wouldn't have to have any here on Earth. So it
- 19:56Speaker 2: depends on what you want to do. I think that's
- 19:58Speaker 2: the direction that everybody wants to go in this point.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Would you have any objection to that? Now there you go.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Then it wouldn't be taking up all the Land excellent. Hey,
- 20:06Speaker 2: I love Montville, by the way, the way you ever
- 20:08Speaker 2: go to Wegman's there in Montvale all the time?
- 20:12Speaker 4: I can walk to it, actually. And that's another area
- 20:15Speaker 4: you know that used to be such a great farm,
- 20:18Speaker 4: real farms, and now it's like a Wegman's. Then it's
- 20:22Speaker 4: it's good. I like Wegmans.
- 20:23Speaker 2: We like Wegmans. It's not a problem. Fortunately, there's still
- 20:26Speaker 2: a lot of New Jersey that's farm landed is still
- 20:28Speaker 2: the garden state. You just have to drive a little farther, Bob.
- 20:31Speaker 2: We love when you call No, that's true. Got to
- 20:34Speaker 2: drive about an hour and a half south, go down
- 20:36Speaker 2: to like Sussex and the Middlesex. Then you'll find some farms. Bob.
- 20:40Speaker 2: We appreciate you, my friend, happy.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Fourth, happy for what to you all too?
- 20:44Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, sir. All right, let's go over
- 20:46Speaker 2: to our friend Joe in Elmwood Park. Hello, Joe, oh,
- 20:49Speaker 2: jo favorite.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Could we be talking about our favorite governor? Governor lamb
- 20:53Speaker 3: chop shot puppet. Now, I'm going to give you a
- 20:59Speaker 3: Patterson for sake saying, and I'll try to keep it clean.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I will kiss your behind and Macy's window. You could
- 21:07Speaker 3: prove to me that that election was on the money.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Uh okay, well, you know, as a broadcaster, I have
- 21:13Speaker 2: to say, well, there's no evidence that it wasn't on
- 21:15Speaker 2: the money. Excuse me as I choke. Yeah, No, it's
- 21:20Speaker 2: it's uh. When you think about the fact that in
- 21:22Speaker 2: that last election she got more votes than any governor ever,
- 21:26Speaker 2: just amazing, isn't it just amazing? Everybody turned out and
- 21:29Speaker 2: voted for her.
- 21:30Speaker 3: I wish he come Downwood Park. I would ask her
- 21:32Speaker 3: how many dead people and how many illegal aliens voted
- 21:35Speaker 3: for her? What she wanted about illegal aliens for it,
- 21:38Speaker 3: because they're the ones that got her elected. That's why
- 21:40Speaker 3: she next day she ran down to Nowork.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 2: You know the thing. We're gonna talk more about that too, Joe.
- 21:45Speaker 2: When we talk about all the traffic in New York City,
- 21:48Speaker 2: we talk about the strain on the power grid, we
- 21:51Speaker 2: talk about the strain on water, We talk about the
- 21:54Speaker 2: schools being overpopulated. Well, but you know where that comes from.
- 21:58Speaker 2: If you add two million people to New York City
- 22:01Speaker 2: and nine hundred thousand people to the state of New
- 22:03Speaker 2: Jersey who are here illegally, so that the infrastructure never
- 22:06Speaker 2: accounted for them. What the heck do you think is
- 22:08Speaker 2: gonna happen? You know, we think that I think we
- 22:11Speaker 2: have a misconception that all illegal aliens are poor little
- 22:15Speaker 2: people who stay in slums, who are in these like
- 22:18Speaker 2: twenty two an apartment type situation.
- 22:21Speaker 4: No.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I personally know people that I didn't realize were illegal
- 22:24Speaker 2: till later, who are wealthy, who come from Canada, they
- 22:28Speaker 2: come from Costa Rica. I know people from Europe. They
- 22:31Speaker 2: overstayed their visas and they drive expensive cars, and they're
- 22:34Speaker 2: the ones congesting the roadways. And that's why you and
- 22:37Speaker 2: I are paying congestion pricing, because they shouldn't be here.
- 22:40Speaker 3: On are dying over a million?
- 22:42Speaker 2: You gotta know them that they know of If we
- 22:44Speaker 2: know of a million, god knows how many there actually are.
- 22:46Speaker 3: And when is Nick Shirley coming here for the fraud?
- 22:50Speaker 3: Three hundred billion fraud in New Jersey guaranteed.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah, three hundred billion. That's that's chump change. It's way
- 22:56Speaker 2: more than that, Joe, way more than that. Hey, happy independence,
- 23:00Speaker 2: my friend. We got to do the news. We appreciate you, Joe,
- 23:02Speaker 2: Thank you very much. All right. Seven ten WR the
- 23:06Speaker 2: voice of New York Sunny Hot Human Hi's about one
- 23:08Speaker 2: hundred and two maybe a late day thunderstorm. Phone lines
- 23:11Speaker 2: are open eight hundred and three to two one zero seven.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Ten Live from the doubr Life Back Studios. No Mark
- 23:19Speaker 1: Simone show guests hosting from Mark Today, Ken Rosato and.
- 23:24Speaker 2: So good to be with you. Happy Independence Day weekend,
- 23:27Speaker 2: Mark Simone enjoying a nice long weekend. I think Mark
- 23:30Speaker 2: Simone is actually with Taylor Swift right now, telling her, no,
- 23:35Speaker 2: you know what you want is that dressed to be
- 23:37Speaker 2: off the shoulder a little. I think he's right now
- 23:39Speaker 2: helping her with the wedding. That's what I think. I
- 23:41Speaker 2: don't know that, but I'm just saying, well, I hear
- 23:45Speaker 2: the laughter. I love it. He runs the hottest entertainment
- 23:47Speaker 2: website on the interwebs, Showbiz four one one. Rumor has
- 23:51Speaker 2: it that he helped Travis pick out Taylor's engagement ring
- 23:54Speaker 2: the incomparable Roger Friedman. Ladies and gentlemen, Good morning Roger.
- 23:59Speaker 5: No, you know I say I'm officiating actually tonight A
- 24:03Speaker 5: you could. They're gonna wind up getting a Jewish wedding
- 24:05Speaker 5: even if they don't want one.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Hull.
- 24:07Speaker 2: You know, I used to be a priest, right you do.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Know that, or no, I didn't know that.
- 24:11Speaker 1: There you go.
- 24:12Speaker 2: So I've done a couple of celeb weddings in the past.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Now I would have to do it like I could
- 24:16Speaker 2: do whatever. I'm sure I'm going to get in trouble
- 24:18Speaker 2: now for announcing that publicly anyway. So Taylor Swift, So
- 24:22Speaker 2: what's the deal issue already married? Dish the dirt. What's
- 24:24Speaker 2: the deal.
- 24:26Speaker 5: I don't think she's I think that the I think
- 24:28Speaker 5: the wedding is tonight. I think that this people don't
- 24:32Speaker 5: know anything. So this amount of speculation is in overdrive
- 24:37Speaker 5: and people are making stuff up. Nothing's ever going to
- 24:40Speaker 5: be confirmed or denied, so you can say anything you want.
- 24:43Speaker 5: But I think they had their rehearsal dinner last night
- 24:46Speaker 5: and they're having their wedding tonight at the garden. It'll
- 24:49Speaker 5: be about one hundred and fifty degrees outside at the
- 24:52Speaker 5: moment that they're going in. It's maybe we'll have thunderstorms.
- 24:56Speaker 5: It should be fun. I just put up a pick
- 25:00Speaker 5: share from the NYPD News twitter feed of Chief Boudette,
- 25:05Speaker 5: who's the head of Manhattan South Cops, standing outside of
- 25:10Speaker 5: the garden right now with the megaphone calling out Taylor
- 25:14Speaker 5: swift lyrics.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I'm looking at it right now. I see it right
- 25:17Speaker 2: now on your site. That's great.
- 25:18Speaker 5: This is the craziest thing I've ever You know, the
- 25:23Speaker 5: police have paid very handsomely to take care of this wedding,
- 25:28Speaker 5: and of course Taylor Swifts and Travis Kelsey gave away
- 25:31Speaker 5: twenty six million dollars in donations to various charities and
- 25:36Speaker 5: funds yesterday, which was their way of saying, you know,
- 25:40Speaker 5: we know this looks terrible, the wedding looks terrible, but
- 25:42Speaker 5: we're very nice people.
- 25:44Speaker 2: And they don't look look for the When you think
- 25:46Speaker 2: of the amount of charity she's done over the years
- 25:49Speaker 2: and the amount of people who she gets just from
- 25:51Speaker 2: the idea that she gives joy to so many millions
- 25:54Speaker 2: of people. Life kind of sucks for a lot of people,
- 25:56Speaker 2: and if she could bring joy to a lot of people,
- 25:59Speaker 2: and this is what they like, there could be a
- 26:02Speaker 2: lot worse that they're doing than cheering less. Exactly.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Absolutely, it's absolutely harmless. And uh, they're going to be people.
- 26:11Speaker 5: They're not going to get close tonight, but there's going
- 26:13Speaker 5: to be a huge crowds probably behind the barriers, waiting
- 26:17Speaker 5: to see what's happening, and it's sort of like it's
- 26:20Speaker 5: they've turned it into like a royal wedding.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's the closest way up to royalty
- 26:25Speaker 2: in America. This is this is our royalty.
- 26:28Speaker 5: Yeah, well I thought the Kardashians were actually the royalty.
- 26:33Speaker 2: This is the whole.
- 26:35Speaker 5: All of these things are the coal's department, store of royalty.
- 26:39Speaker 2: The coals department stopped. Cols is good. I love my coals.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Don't don't knock gold. Hey, listen, let's shift from I
- 26:45Speaker 2: know enough people are saying enough with the tailor. Okay.
- 26:48Speaker 2: So mel Brooks, one of my favorite human beings ever
- 26:51Speaker 2: on the planet, just turned one hundred. God bless him.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Happy birthday. I hope he lives to be two hundred.
- 26:56Speaker 2: That man. I could watch every one of his movies
- 26:59Speaker 2: a thousand times.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Well, we love mel Brooks. I Over the years, I've
- 27:05Speaker 5: had a lot of opportunities to interview him and talk
- 27:08Speaker 5: to him. And when he was when he and his
- 27:12Speaker 5: late writing partner Tom Me and were writing the Young
- 27:18Speaker 5: Frankenstein musical. They they used to go to a restaurant
- 27:26Speaker 5: around sixtieth and Lexington that was I was called Madame Romain.
- 27:31Speaker 5: De Leon, and it was this place that only made omelets.
- 27:35Speaker 5: They were very expensive. They had like, you know, truffles
- 27:38Speaker 5: in them and that kind of thing. And eventually the
- 27:40Speaker 5: place was padlocked because the people who were running it
- 27:42Speaker 5: never paid their taxes. And there weren't that many people
- 27:46Speaker 5: in the restaurant ever, but I knew that they were
- 27:49Speaker 5: up there, so I used to go up there and
- 27:51Speaker 5: have lunch when they were in the back writing, and
- 27:54Speaker 5: they were so much fun. And I really liked the
- 27:58Speaker 5: Young Frankenstein musical. But after the US was such a
- 28:01Speaker 5: hit on Broadway, nothing could live up to it. You know,
- 28:05Speaker 5: it was pointless. But Mel is great, and of course
- 28:13Speaker 5: The Producers was a gigantic hit on Broadway after being
- 28:16Speaker 5: a cult movie for years, and all those other movies
- 28:21Speaker 5: were just terrific. Spaceballs was one of my favorites, and
- 28:26Speaker 5: now the sequel will be out next spring. So Spaceball's
- 28:31Speaker 5: two comes out in April, I think of twenty twenty seven,
- 28:34Speaker 5: and hopefully Mel will be at the premiere. I'm sure
- 28:37Speaker 5: he will, and you know it's going to be a riot.
- 28:40Speaker 2: The whole pace.
- 28:43Speaker 5: I used to get into trouble on Christmas Day. We
- 28:48Speaker 5: used to be my friends had dinner and they say
- 28:51Speaker 5: bring a movie with you, So I always brought Spaceballs
- 28:54Speaker 5: for the kids who are there, and then I get
- 28:56Speaker 5: into trouble with the parents.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but my all time favorite still has happens
- 29:02Speaker 2: to me. And I know it's politically incorrect totally, but
- 29:05Speaker 2: Blazing Saddles, Yeah, Blazing I just there is not a
- 29:09Speaker 2: scene that isn't a classic scene in Blazing Saddles. You
- 29:12Speaker 2: could quote every single scene in the movie.
- 29:15Speaker 5: And it's more politically incorrect than almost any movie you've heard. Absolutely,
- 29:20Speaker 5: And Mel came and showed it a few just a
- 29:24Speaker 5: few years ago. He came and showed it and entd
- 29:27Speaker 5: a Q and A afterwards, and it was absolutely the
- 29:30Speaker 5: whole thing was hilarious. So it held up beautifully after
- 29:34Speaker 5: whatever forty years or fifty years, and all of his
- 29:38Speaker 5: stuff pretty much holds up him. Of course, my our
- 29:41Speaker 5: favorite thing is Get Smart, of course, which you know. Yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 5: And they came up with the Cone of Silence and
- 29:49Speaker 5: a shoe fountain.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Before we had cell phones. That came up with the
- 29:53Speaker 2: shoe phone. It was great, that's right.
- 29:55Speaker 5: And the Cone of Silence I refer anytime you go
- 29:58Speaker 5: into a noisy New York restaurant, I say, get the
- 30:01Speaker 5: Connor silence.
- 30:03Speaker 2: For those who don't remember, it was this dome like
- 30:05Speaker 2: an upside down Martini glass that would come down from
- 30:08Speaker 2: the ceiling and that way these secret agents could talk inside.
- 30:11Speaker 2: You could hear it echoing through the room, but supposedly
- 30:15Speaker 2: right exactly.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Couldn't hear anything. And finally that the chief would say,
- 30:20Speaker 5: get rid of this thing so we can hear each other.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Only Melbrook, and of course Melbrook's best friend on the
- 30:26Speaker 2: planet was Carl Reiner, who was a friend of my grandfather's.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I'm from you Rochelle and Carl Reiner used to live
- 30:33Speaker 2: on Bonnie Meadow Drive, but in uh or Bonnie Meadow Crest.
- 30:37Speaker 2: But I think in the Dick Van Dyke Show they
- 30:39Speaker 2: actually gave the address that he lived on. They called
- 30:42Speaker 2: it Bonnie Meadow Drive instead, but it was the actual
- 30:45Speaker 2: address that melt that Carl Reiner lived at, which was hysterical.
- 30:48Speaker 2: My grandfather used to say, my grandfather was a contractor.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I used to do work there at that address, and
- 30:53Speaker 2: he used to say it on the Dick Van Dykes Show,
- 30:55Speaker 2: which was hysterical.
- 30:57Speaker 5: That's where Rob and Laura lived exactly.
- 31:00Speaker 2: But that was when you could do that.
- 31:01Speaker 5: There are real people living in West Point, living in
- 31:04Speaker 5: Orchelle and being and living in New York when when
- 31:08Speaker 5: the show was on, we thought they were real people.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Absolutely. Hey, listen, we're chatting up a storm on him.
- 31:13Speaker 2: He is just a god. Bless him. May he be
- 31:15Speaker 2: another hundred. He's just wonderful, made so many people happy.
- 31:18Speaker 2: So we got about a minute left. What is coming
- 31:21Speaker 2: up on the box office this weekend?
- 31:24Speaker 5: The box office is pretty quiet. Toy Story five has
- 31:27Speaker 5: been the big movie. We're waiting right now for The
- 31:31Speaker 5: Odyssey on July seventeenth. And this is going to be
- 31:36Speaker 5: like This is from the director of Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan,
- 31:39Speaker 5: and it's a three hour epic. I haven't seen it yet.
- 31:43Speaker 5: I'm gonna I'm going to the premiere a few days
- 31:46Speaker 5: before the opening. A few critics saw it the other
- 31:50Speaker 5: day because they're doing it long interviews, and apparently it's fantastic.
- 31:55Speaker 5: It's going to be a big a stunner. So and
- 31:58Speaker 5: this is you know, you know Homer, remember Homer, not
- 32:00Speaker 5: Homer Simpson is the poet, yes, and and and putting
- 32:07Speaker 5: this together with the you know, uh Helen of Troy
- 32:11Speaker 5: and the Trojan Horse and all of that. It's gonna be.
- 32:13Speaker 5: It's gonna be stunning.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Uh.
- 32:16Speaker 5: And it's all live. There's no CGI, there's no uh,
- 32:20Speaker 5: computer graphics or artificial intelligence. It's a it's a live movie.
- 32:25Speaker 5: So it's gonna be. It's going to be completely.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Wild, very cool.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Everyone's really looking everyone's looking forward to that. And uh
- 32:33Speaker 5: and there's lots of great stuff playing on Broadway and
- 32:36Speaker 5: hopefully Broadway. I will have a good summer.
- 32:38Speaker 2: And hopefully Broadway has good air conditioning.
- 32:41Speaker 5: Well, Broadway, it's a good reason to go to a
- 32:43Speaker 5: museum or a Broadway show is to get out of
- 32:45Speaker 5: the heat.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Exactly, you know to do Roger, we're at a time here,
- 32:49Speaker 2: my friend. Don't forget everybody. It is showbiz for one one.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Check out everything and anything in entertainment. I know. Roger
- 32:57Speaker 2: has to get back to the wedding right now. The
- 32:59Speaker 2: taylor's waiting saying where is Roger? And we're just working on.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Working on the vows right now.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Roger, happy fourth, my friend, Thank you for coming on
- 33:07Speaker 2: as old Yes, happy too, thank you. Roger. All right,
- 33:10Speaker 2: I have a great day. Saday hot humid today. Hi
- 33:13Speaker 2: is about one hundred and two maybe a late day
- 33:15Speaker 2: thunderstorm taking your calls next, So the phone line's wide open,
- 33:19Speaker 2: give us a call. Eight hundred three to two one
- 33:21Speaker 2: zero seven ten eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 33:25Speaker 2: ten Ken Rosatto went for the great Mark Simone on
- 33:28Speaker 2: your Friday w O R. We're coming right back.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Seven ten wr filling in for Mark.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Here again is Ken Rosado. And just because we went
- 33:36Speaker 2: a little along with Roger there, we don't really have
