- 0:20Speaker 1: kjir dot com is Birthday America is celebrating its two
- 0:25Speaker 1: hundred and fiftieth of that this year. Birthday. Enter that
- 0:28Speaker 1: now at nine three three KGI dot com for your win.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Chance to win twenty five hundred dollars. Now, let's go
- 0:34Speaker 1: to New York City, if the city is still standing
- 0:36Speaker 1: after last night. Perry Sook from WPIX Television, who was there,
- 0:40Speaker 1: who's covered the Knicks in their run to the finals,
- 0:43Speaker 1: joined us in the Beacon Plumbing hotline. Good morning, sir,
- 0:46Speaker 1: or did you even go to bed last night? Just barely?
- 0:50Speaker 2: I am wired but tired because the party kept going
- 0:54Speaker 2: and then the adrenaline for another couple hours, and here
- 0:57Speaker 2: we are at it again. Man, the city that Never
- 0:59Speaker 2: sleeps really didn't get a chance last night?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Where were you when og out and ob tipped that
- 1:04Speaker 1: shot in?
- 1:07Speaker 2: So unfortunately I'm in the tunnel downstairs because we you know,
- 1:11Speaker 2: have live shots coming up and all of that, and
- 1:14Speaker 2: so I am literally watching it, like from across the
- 1:17Speaker 2: court in the tunnel, barely getting to see anything and
- 1:20Speaker 2: mostly looking at the monitor over my shoulder. Joe mass Harry,
- 1:25Speaker 2: our other fantastic commentator, was up in the seats, just
- 1:28Speaker 2: making sure he got whatever he could from up there.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And and by golly, I've now watched every angle of it,
- 1:35Speaker 2: so I feel like I was center court.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Well, I've been in the Garden many times from many things, hockey, basketball,
- 1:42Speaker 1: even tennis. Track. Used to go to school in il
- 1:46Speaker 1: north of New York City. I've been in that building
- 1:48Speaker 1: for a lot of events. I can't imagine it's ever
- 1:51Speaker 1: been louder than it was last night. Did it shake?
- 1:54Speaker 1: Can you just describe the scene when Og tipped that
- 1:57Speaker 1: shot in?
- 2:01Speaker 2: When the next were on the run a couple of
- 2:02Speaker 2: years ago and Dante DiVincenzo hit that three against the Celtics,
- 2:06Speaker 2: that was the largest loudest I had ever heard the
- 2:09Speaker 2: garden pop. Now now we always describe it's called, you know,
- 2:12Speaker 2: the garden roar, because when you're going through negativity and
- 2:16Speaker 2: then something positive happens, there is there is an even
- 2:19Speaker 2: louder you know that then when you're up by twenty
- 2:21Speaker 2: and you know, running through teams like Philadelphia, and after
- 2:26Speaker 2: all the animosity of the first half after the flagrance
- 2:29Speaker 2: that we still think, you know, should have been called
- 2:31Speaker 2: here in New York after being down by twenty nine.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I have never heard a pop like that in my
- 2:39Speaker 2: lifetime at any sporting events, let alone just the garden.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And yes, I mean the ground was shaking, the walls
- 2:45Speaker 2: were reverberating, people were in shock. I mean Jerry Seinsawt
- 2:49Speaker 2: I could se him across the court had his mouth
- 2:51Speaker 2: wide open, light like he was doing a bit for
- 2:53Speaker 2: his show. And it was unbelievable the energy in that moment.
- 2:58Speaker 2: But then immedia having to hold it in for one
- 3:02Speaker 2: point two more seconds to make sure that you know,
- 3:04Speaker 2: there wasn't a game winning buzzer beater on the other side, right.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Because the Spurs cold time out, advanced the ball and
- 3:09Speaker 1: then they had one more chance. They never even got
- 3:11Speaker 1: a shut up. Parry Sook WPIX Television, Manhattan, who was
- 3:14Speaker 1: in Madison Square Garden last night joining us in the
- 3:16Speaker 1: Beacon Plumbing hotline.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Parry, you mentioned that twenty nine. They were down twenty
- 3:20Speaker 3: nine and it looked like it might have been over.
- 3:22Speaker 3: At what point in the fourth quarter did you start
- 3:25Speaker 3: saying to yourself, man, this team could actually pull this off.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So I, first of all, am an optimist as both
- 3:34Speaker 2: a person and life than a sports fan. So while
- 3:36Speaker 2: I was sitting and my producer was in my ear going, oh, man,
- 3:39Speaker 2: let let's just start planning for Game five, I was like, Hey,
- 3:43Speaker 2: we've seen weirder things, and we have. I mean, this
- 3:46Speaker 2: is a team that came back against the Celtics by
- 3:49Speaker 2: twenty down. This is a team that came back this
- 3:51Speaker 2: year twenty two down in the fourth quarter seven thirty
- 3:54Speaker 2: to go against the Calves, and a team that has
- 3:57Speaker 2: already come back against Ay you know, fourteen fourth quarter deficits.
- 4:02Speaker 2: So you're sitting there thinking, hey, if they can get
- 4:04Speaker 2: this to the teams anywhere in the teams, you're feeling
- 4:09Speaker 2: confident that a run could happen. So I'm gonna be
- 4:12Speaker 2: honest that first time they pushed and got it to nineteen,
- 4:17Speaker 2: I forget it was on it. It was on a missed
- 4:19Speaker 2: three and then a quick transitional play when they got
- 4:22Speaker 2: it to nineteen, I said, we'll shoot there. It's a
- 4:25Speaker 2: ballgame now, one hundred percent, And I don't know if
- 4:29Speaker 2: my belief is irrational. But then this team has some
- 4:33Speaker 2: fantastic team of destiny vibes. And I know that's such
- 4:35Speaker 2: a cliche, but when you look at all the things
- 4:38Speaker 2: they've done, when you look at the health they have maintained,
- 4:41Speaker 2: which is not something that tends to happen for the
- 4:43Speaker 2: next when you when you look at some of the
- 4:44Speaker 2: weird bounces that have rolled their way, with one of
- 4:47Speaker 2: the Landry Shammitt threes earlier in the playoff run, it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: hard to not believe in this team because they've shown
- 4:54Speaker 2: us time and time again that they can do it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Between Mike Brown, who's in likable to me and got
- 5:01Speaker 1: a rod deal from the Kings, I think, and you say,
- 5:04Speaker 1: the Cavs and the Lakers and all the other stops
- 5:06Speaker 1: he've had, Jalen Brunson with his father Rick coaching him,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Josh Hart, who I really like as a player. There
- 5:13Speaker 1: seem to be an eminently likable team. Perry and most
- 5:17Speaker 1: of the country. They don't always like New York teams.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It's fun to hate on the Yankees and the Mets,
- 5:23Speaker 1: for all their problems, and the Giants and the Jets,
- 5:25Speaker 1: But how likable, how maybe on New York nationally does
- 5:31Speaker 1: this team feel like to you? How popular are the
- 5:33Speaker 1: Knicks anyway in any given year, Because unlike the Mets
- 5:37Speaker 1: and the Yankees or the Giants and the Jets, there
- 5:40Speaker 1: really isn't The Nets aren't really popular enough to divide
- 5:43Speaker 1: a city like other sports too. But how popular are
- 5:46Speaker 1: these Knicks? Oh?
- 5:48Speaker 2: I mean unbelievably the city we always say, and no
- 5:51Speaker 2: offense in the Nets, and they've had their runs. But
- 5:54Speaker 2: the only team that the entire city roots for is
- 5:58Speaker 2: the New York Knicks. And that is why the city
- 6:01Speaker 2: and there's something about Manhattan in the summer and everybody's out,
- 6:04Speaker 2: you know, partying on the lawn anyway. I mean, we
- 6:07Speaker 2: have projectors popping up on every single block of a
- 6:10Speaker 2: shut down the party. I'm sure you saw it look
- 6:12Speaker 2: like a military compound on seventh Avenue. Well, guess what,
- 6:16Speaker 2: they just moved the party over to sixth Avenue. There
- 6:18Speaker 2: were about three thousand people just in the middle of
- 6:20Speaker 2: the street on sixth Avenue and thirty first last night,
- 6:22Speaker 2: celebrating a win. So in the city they are imminently,
- 6:26Speaker 2: I mean infinitely and eminitely popular. And I also think
- 6:30Speaker 2: in the NBA they are getting a little bit of
- 6:33Speaker 2: a love that a big market team doesn't for two reasons.
- 6:38Speaker 2: One is everybody likes to hate the champions. And then
- 6:41Speaker 2: it turns out that everybody was hating on the champions
- 6:44Speaker 2: and the Spurs were maybe doing some things that officiating
- 6:47Speaker 2: crews were letting go by, and those things, you know,
- 6:49Speaker 2: in the age of social media take off like wildfire.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I mean, I can't wake up now without seeing some
- 6:54Speaker 2: play by Victor wenmin Yama on my Twitter feed. X. Sorry,
- 7:00Speaker 2: I'm old school that you know, everyone is complaining about
- 7:04Speaker 2: and there's really no defense. You don't even get this
- 7:06Speaker 2: first people chirping in about that. And second of all,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you've got a whole team that kind of has been
- 7:13Speaker 2: passed over. You have Jalen Brunson, who was passed over
- 7:16Speaker 2: by just about everybody left out of Dallas, like nothing,
- 7:20Speaker 2: picked up for this team and came to this team,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you know, when they're nineteen win team and is the
- 7:24Speaker 2: most unpresuming diva ever.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I mean he is.
- 7:28Speaker 2: He is the most in the fact that he's not
- 7:30Speaker 2: a diva at all. He's so locked in and just
- 7:34Speaker 2: one hundred percent to the mission. I mean to the
- 7:36Speaker 2: point that his press conferences are kind of boring if
- 7:39Speaker 2: you ask me, because it's all about you know what's next,
- 7:42Speaker 2: And then the only levity you get from him is
- 7:45Speaker 2: his friendship with Michal Bridges and his friendship with Josh
- 7:48Speaker 2: Hart as the frenemies they present themselves to be, and
- 7:52Speaker 2: that friendship and blue collar work ethic of these guys
- 7:55Speaker 2: when when you see I mean Jose Alvarado was was
- 7:57Speaker 2: the difference maker last night when him and Brunson went
- 7:59Speaker 2: on floor together. A. He's a local New York kid,
- 8:02Speaker 2: but but B, I mean, he couldn't have been further
- 8:04Speaker 2: away from an NBA title when this season started. So
- 8:07Speaker 2: I just think that the way that this team plays
- 8:10Speaker 2: and presents themselves, it's hard to find. Excuse me, it's
- 8:15Speaker 2: hard to find something you don't like.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Perry, you are excuse from clearing your voice after what
- 8:22Speaker 1: you watched and experienced last Night's absolute problem with that.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Yeah, the only good thing about being in the tunnel
- 8:28Speaker 2: is you're not in the press box. So I may
- 8:30Speaker 2: or may not have yelled a little bit when oj.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Just hit that in you were an alone.
- 8:34Speaker 4: So you know the tip.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Where does og Annobi's game for tip rank amongst the
- 8:40Speaker 3: big time iconic moments in Nick's history And do you
- 8:42Speaker 3: think it has maybe potential to be remembered alongside moments
- 8:46Speaker 3: that Nick fans will have talked about for you know,
- 8:49Speaker 3: maybe generations.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I think the answer is infinitely yes. And then the
- 8:55Speaker 2: question is where does it go in the big al
- 8:57Speaker 2: time moments in New York sports history. I mean, because
- 9:00Speaker 2: when you think about the John Starks dunk, well, guess what,
- 9:04Speaker 2: they lost that game or I mean they won that
- 9:07Speaker 2: game but lost that series. The LJ four point play
- 9:10Speaker 2: is up there, but unfortunately, in the age of social media,
- 9:15Speaker 2: we didn't have eighty different angles of that and slow
- 9:18Speaker 2: motion and Ben Stiller's you know, cinematic view from his
- 9:20Speaker 2: iPhone that he shot from the court side seats of
- 9:23Speaker 2: that play. And I think this will be able to
- 9:25Speaker 2: live and have legs forever. I mean, if they go
- 9:28Speaker 2: on and win the title, it's a it's a fifty
- 9:30Speaker 2: three year drought and it doesn't happen without that play,
- 9:33Speaker 2: and the tenure of the series changes if he doesn't
- 9:36Speaker 2: make that play. And I think it's only raised to
- 9:40Speaker 2: a level because he made the block right right around
- 9:42Speaker 2: it as well without that block and now that tip in.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I mean, this this thing is at least going six
- 9:49Speaker 2: games and you're you're going back to San Antonio Tide
- 9:54Speaker 2: after losing two in a row. So I think it's
- 9:57Speaker 2: up there. I mean, we were talking today at the station.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I mean, when do you think about, you know, Jeter's flip,
- 10:02Speaker 2: when you think about, you know, David Tyree in the
- 10:04Speaker 2: helmet catch. I mean, this is that level of importance
- 10:08Speaker 2: because what it means for that team in that time
- 10:12Speaker 2: in their history.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Perry. I think it's above the Jeter flip and Opland,
- 10:15Speaker 1: which I was in the stadium at the Coliseum watching
- 10:18Speaker 1: that Yankees A's Game five and wow because it was
- 10:22Speaker 1: in an earlier round. Yeah, they avoid because of that play,
- 10:25Speaker 1: but that wasn't for the World Series. This is for
- 10:28Speaker 1: the NBA title. And as you mentioned, the Yankees have
- 10:31Speaker 1: twenty seven world titles. The Knicks have what three, and
- 10:34Speaker 1: not any of them since nineteen seventy three. I think
- 10:37Speaker 1: the David Tyreek helmet catch is a perfect app comparison
- 10:40Speaker 1: because I was in a Super Bowl and it beat
- 10:42Speaker 1: the undefeated Patriots to get the giants that big upset win.
- 10:45Speaker 1: But if you could just encapsulate where this is just
- 10:50Speaker 1: the entire run, it's somewhat unexpected. They were what a
- 10:53Speaker 1: four seed in the Eastern Conference. James Dolan has been
- 10:57Speaker 1: a owner that even in his own city hasn't been popular.
- 11:00Speaker 1: He's run out guys like Charles Oakley won't even let
- 11:03Speaker 1: him in the building anymore. How is this team in
- 11:06Speaker 1: the season rank in New York sports history? Do you think.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It's got to be up there? And I won't say
- 11:14Speaker 2: completely unexpected, especially within the walls of the Garden and
- 11:19Speaker 2: their practice facility in Westchester and the media, because we
- 11:23Speaker 2: saw what this team was capable of last year. We
- 11:26Speaker 2: saw this team you know, stop what when the Celtics won,
- 11:29Speaker 2: everybody thought it was going to be a Celtics dynasty
- 11:31Speaker 2: for years to come, right, We thought they were going
- 11:33Speaker 2: to win three out of the next five and nothing
- 11:35Speaker 2: was going to get in their way. Well, this was
- 11:37Speaker 2: the team that knocked them out. And what did they do.
- 11:40Speaker 2: They got healthier, They added a few essential pieces and
- 11:45Speaker 2: a massive credit to Mike Brown, all of those players
- 11:49Speaker 2: got experienced because they actually played more than you know,
- 11:52Speaker 2: two minutes in the end, of a forty point blowout.
- 11:54Speaker 2: So when Landry Shamitt steps on in games one and
- 11:57Speaker 2: two and hits those big shots, when pose Alvarado goes
- 12:00Speaker 2: in last night and is able to run the offense
- 12:03Speaker 2: with Brunson, you have a team that that is ready
- 12:07Speaker 2: and fresh and capable. So so I gotta, I gotta
- 12:10Speaker 2: just to take a claim to that unexpected because the
- 12:13Speaker 2: belief in the city was there, and they did get
- 12:16Speaker 2: that three seed. They would have liked to be higher,
- 12:18Speaker 2: but they were dealing with a little help during the season,
- 12:20Speaker 2: especially with Mitchell Robinson. So now that they are, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 2: healthy and playing with the exception of Mitchell Robinson's pinky,
- 12:29Speaker 2: this this is loved. And and again I gotta say
- 12:32Speaker 2: that nothing in the city unites the city like the Knicks.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I was having a conversation with a habit from a
- 12:40Speaker 2: mob deep and he goes, hey, man, I have never
- 12:42Speaker 2: seen everybody being friends like this. Everybody friends now because
- 12:46Speaker 2: it's Nixon four. Now that was before game three, so
- 12:49Speaker 2: now I'm sure he would say Nixon five. But it's true.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I mean, you're walking down the street, You've got every
- 12:55Speaker 2: you know, color, creed, religion of people wearing Nick's gear
- 13:00Speaker 2: high five and dapping each other up walking down the
- 13:02Speaker 2: street going oh my god, did you see that? Did
- 13:05Speaker 2: you see that tip? I walked into my apartment last
- 13:07Speaker 2: night and my dorman just goes, oh my god. Didn't
- 13:10Speaker 2: even have to say what it was about. Because the
- 13:12Speaker 2: city loves the Knicks and for them to be able
- 13:14Speaker 2: to get a third title of the first in fifty
- 13:16Speaker 2: three years, and especially at a time when the city's
- 13:21Speaker 2: at a drought. I mean, we don't in the Big Four,
- 13:24Speaker 2: have not had a title since two thousand and nine,
- 13:26Speaker 2: and so to end that drought by ending the biggest
- 13:30Speaker 2: drought you know, by the team that we pair the
- 13:32Speaker 2: most about as a city, it is it is going
- 13:36Speaker 2: if they finished the job. I mean, it's going to
- 13:38Speaker 2: rank up there with an all time season ever last one.
- 13:41Speaker 3: For me, Perry, I kind of want to look at
- 13:43Speaker 3: not kind I won't to look at car Anthony Town
- 13:45Speaker 3: because I think this postseason run, he's played arguably his
- 13:48Speaker 3: best basketball.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Where do you think he ranks among ranks?
- 13:52Speaker 3: How do you think he's played so far this playoffs
- 13:54Speaker 3: and into this finally, because I think he's been.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Phenomenal, exceptionally Honestly, if the Finals ended after game two.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I think Carl Anthony Towns is the Finals MVP the
- 14:06Speaker 2: way that he is able to adapt his game. And
- 14:08Speaker 2: that's the other thing it was. It was a little
- 14:10Speaker 2: bit of a slow start finding the Mike Brown system
- 14:12Speaker 2: and figuring out exactly how Cat was gonna be. Butt
- 14:18Speaker 2: then embraced his role as a facilitator no better than
- 14:21Speaker 2: in the Cavs series. I mean, you know, no points
- 14:24Speaker 2: in all all of the assists in the planet, and
- 14:28Speaker 2: to see him grow into that role, to see him
- 14:30Speaker 2: guard Webby in game two and hold him to two
- 14:32Speaker 2: for nineteen shooting when Karl Anthony Towns was the primary defender.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I mean, you're you're looking at the biggest guys in
- 14:39Speaker 2: the league. You're looking at the Chet Holmgrens, you know,
- 14:41Speaker 2: who were supposed to be the Wemby stopper. You're looking
- 14:43Speaker 2: at all these guys, and it's Karl Anthony Towns who
- 14:46Speaker 2: was actually able to get it done. I still at
- 14:50Speaker 2: this point, you know, Og is the man of the moment,
- 14:53Speaker 2: but the man of the series so far as Karl
- 14:55Speaker 2: Anthony Towns. And and if I was a vetting man,
- 14:57Speaker 2: I might put a little put a little point on
- 14:59Speaker 2: him for a Finals MVP.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Perry Suck. He's WPIX Television in New York City, which
- 15:06Speaker 1: is off the hook for the Knicks after what happened
- 15:08Speaker 1: last night. We'll see what happens in Game five in
- 15:11Speaker 1: San Antonio on Sunday and whether the series even comes
- 15:14Speaker 1: back to the Garden for a game six. Perry, thanks
- 15:16Speaker 1: a lot for your time and give us a flavor
- 15:18Speaker 1: of what's happened in New York. Enjoy the ride and
- 15:20Speaker 1: enjoy the road.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Of course, Thank you guys so much, and go New York, Go,
- 15:25Speaker 2: New York, Go.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Perry suck, making a few East Coasters happy that listen
- 15:30Speaker 1: to the show here on KJR. Yeah, this is a
- 15:34Speaker 1: unique time. He's right. The Knicks unite New York, unlike
- 15:37Speaker 1: the NFL teams and the Major League Baseball teams that
- 15:40Speaker 1: are divided. And that's just don't register it at all.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Up next, your chance to be a part of the show.
- 15:46Speaker 1: A couple really good on the text line four nine
- 15:48Speaker 1: four five one the Tacoma Dodge text lin. A couple
- 15:50Speaker 1: of good app comparisons to last night's come back with
- 15:53Speaker 1: other comebacks you've seen in sports history. Put that on
- 15:58Speaker 1: the text line. We'll read it back next. Also, your
- 16:00Speaker 1: thoughts about Mike McDonald just giving the Seahawks a mini
- 16:03Speaker 1: camp day off to go around the sound to volunteer.
- 16:07Speaker 1: What's that tell you about Mike McDonald a coach? Are
- 16:09Speaker 1: you like, wait, you should be doing football? How do
- 16:11Speaker 1: you feel about Mike McDonald doing that yesterday? Read back
- 16:14Speaker 1: your text next. They're on the field at the Virginia
- 16:16Speaker 1: Mason Athletics Center special teams portion of practice beginning the
- 16:19Speaker 1: final mini camp day. I'm covering it live for ninety
- 16:22Speaker 1: three point three KJRFM. Welcome back to the Virginia Mason
- 16:29Speaker 1: Athletics Center, Seahawks headquarters where they're doing training camp practice
- 16:32Speaker 1: day number three, the final day of the off season
- 16:35Speaker 1: on ninety three point three KJFM. Greg Bell, Christopher Kidd
- 16:38Speaker 1: with you. You know what the music means. It's time
- 16:40Speaker 1: to be a part of the show. In the Tacoma
- 16:42Speaker 1: Dodge text line four at nine four or five one,
- 16:45Speaker 1: we're at the top of the show. We ask what
- 16:48Speaker 1: comeback in sports history? Can you equate to what the
- 16:50Speaker 1: Knicks did to the Spurs last night? And we got
- 16:53Speaker 1: those comments among others.
- 16:56Speaker 4: From the two five to three.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I was rooting for the Knicks because I love seeing
- 17:00Speaker 3: teams who haven't been there in a long time win.
- 17:02Speaker 3: But after seeing the videos of New York fans and
- 17:05Speaker 3: a mob jumping Spurs fans force them to take off
- 17:08Speaker 3: their jerseys, to burn them and physically assault them, I'm
- 17:10Speaker 3: now team f New York. They don't deserve a Cinderella story. Yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 3: some of those fans, it's it goes a little now,
- 17:19Speaker 3: little goes over and beyond, just do a little too much.
- 17:22Speaker 3: So hopefully it's safe if they do win it all.
- 17:25Speaker 3: But there's gonna be a couple of maniacs out there, Soway,
- 17:28Speaker 3: it's not too chaotic.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Most people, including Eric of the four to two five
- 17:33Speaker 1: and a few others, say the Seahawks Packers NFC title
- 17:37Speaker 1: game at Lumenfield twenty fifteen, that that's a great comp
- 17:42Speaker 1: that was a t for It's a super Bowl berth.
- 17:44Speaker 1: The Seahawks down sixteen points sixteen, nothing dead in the
- 17:48Speaker 1: water in the second half, the fake field goal, John
- 17:51Speaker 1: Ryan's throw to I mean that was an inexplicable play
- 17:55Speaker 1: to Gary Gilliam in the end zone, and then the
- 17:58Speaker 1: whirling dervish Russell will some two point play to Luke
- 18:01Speaker 1: Wilson the inexplicable on site kick that goes off a
- 18:05Speaker 1: packer and gives the Seahawks the finals, and then the
- 18:09Speaker 1: the overtime throw to the end zone, a moonshot ball
- 18:12Speaker 1: to Jermaine Curse, who hauled it down in coverage from
- 18:15Speaker 1: Russell Wilson to send him to the Super Bowl. Remember
- 18:17Speaker 1: that was Matthews clocked Russell Wilson after an interception and
- 18:22Speaker 1: maybe concustom This was before the red hats and the
- 18:25Speaker 1: protocols would have made him go to the tent for
- 18:28Speaker 1: a concussion review and Russell Wilson crying after the game.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That's the reason why they got to the second consecutive
- 18:34Speaker 1: Super Bowl against the Patriots in Super Bowl forty nine.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I think that's a pretty good local comp to what
- 18:39Speaker 1: happened last night, albeit not for a league title.
- 18:43Speaker 3: This is from the two six, twenty thirteen America's Cup.
- 18:48Speaker 3: USA down eight to one in a best of seven,
- 18:52Speaker 3: Urgeta comes back to beating New Zealand nine to eighth.
- 18:57Speaker 1: That's pulling from the way back there. My good, that's okay,
- 19:01Speaker 1: berkus cut That might be the first America's Cup reference
- 19:04Speaker 1: on kg R a long time. Ever, Yeah, I would
- 19:08Speaker 1: probably say ever yeah, I'm with you. I did misspeak
- 19:12Speaker 1: at the top of the show and say the Seahawks
- 19:14Speaker 1: are getting their World Series rings tonight, and a lot
- 19:15Speaker 1: of guys and gals picked up on that. The two
- 19:18Speaker 1: Factory said a laugh out loud, GB speaking it into existence. Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 1: we've never had World Series rings here in Seattle. I'm
- 19:26Speaker 1: aware of that. Perhaps that's what subconsciously do they get to.
- 19:29Speaker 1: They get Brian Bliss back and maybe they can make
- 19:32Speaker 1: a World Series run. What the hell we barely talked
- 19:35Speaker 1: about that. What the hell they sent him down? What
- 19:36Speaker 1: did he do to get sent down? He didn't even
- 19:38Speaker 1: have his clothes yet, still in Denver or whatever. Brad
- 19:42Speaker 1: Adam's gonna have to get his close back before Ryan
- 19:45Speaker 1: biscuits on the plane back to Tacoma, and yesterday I
- 19:49Speaker 1: was like, come on, man, is there no one else
- 19:51Speaker 1: on the roster? You could send it Tacoma? Then Ryan Blizz.
- 19:55Speaker 3: From our guy Marcus out of the two six games
- 19:58Speaker 3: like that are why don't watch the NBA anymore? Play
- 20:01Speaker 3: defense and the clock and you can't lose that lead.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Oh we haven't played it, Chris, Should we play it now?
- 20:08Speaker 1: The Charles Barkley if you didn't see it. Yeah we can.
- 20:12Speaker 1: This is what Charles Barkley said about the Spurs part
- 20:16Speaker 1: of this Knicks comeback last night.
- 20:18Speaker 5: We saw them dumbas basketball team in the history of civilization. Wow,
- 20:24Speaker 5: we saw they had a twenty five point league to
- 20:28Speaker 5: eight straight threes like they thought again, like that was
- 20:32Speaker 5: some of the most mismanaged stupid basketball. Hey, will you
- 20:37Speaker 5: bought twent to nine point league? The other team has
- 20:39Speaker 5: to help you to San Antonio, Spurs, help the New
- 20:44Speaker 5: York and when Knicks win this game by doing some
- 20:46Speaker 5: of the stupid ass stuff I've never seen on.
- 20:49Speaker 6: The basketball court. Congratulations to the Knick food coming back.
- 20:52Speaker 6: But I can hear with you. They played terrible basketball.
- 20:55Speaker 6: They got comfortable, they got comfortable with the league. They
- 20:58Speaker 6: was already talking about, you know, going back to San Antonio.
- 21:01Speaker 6: They just did place mark. Hey, you know, you never
- 21:03Speaker 6: know what a champion is. Will she become a champan?
- 21:05Speaker 6: But tonight the Knicks they fought like a champion.
- 21:07Speaker 1: They did.
- 21:08Speaker 7: Listen, we're sitting back there in the third quarter. The
- 21:10Speaker 7: shot those show. These guys gotta put them away right now.
- 21:14Speaker 7: Second quarter, they gotta put them away right now. They
- 21:16Speaker 7: started letting them make the run towards the end of
- 21:18Speaker 7: the second quarter. The Knicks kept fighting. They kept fighting.
- 21:21Speaker 7: They go back twenty six, cut it the nineteen. They
- 21:24Speaker 7: got back in that third quarter once they cut it
- 21:26Speaker 7: the twelve. This game was a rap the tree. When
- 21:29Speaker 7: they shot they would have had to twenty five.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Partly they shot eight threes in a row.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Never even came close to use it any time on
- 21:36Speaker 5: the clock, and you're like, this game ain't over you.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Charles Barkley talking Booke ending to talk with Shaquille O'Neil
- 21:45Speaker 1: Draymond Green on the inside the NBA crew. I say
- 21:47Speaker 1: that was after Kenny Smith had said all the credit
- 21:50Speaker 1: to the Knicks and the Knicks this, and then nixed
- 21:53Speaker 1: that and barked as they couldn't wait a minute.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah, Barkley's gonna say what he wants.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Well, he's right, though, I mean, chuck it up three.
- 22:00Speaker 1: There were two of eleven from three point range in
- 22:02Speaker 1: the third quarter while they were leading by twenty plus points.
- 22:06Speaker 3: One quarter, and I thought, I don't know if he
- 22:09Speaker 3: saw the pressure with Victor wimbin Yama. I did, so,
- 22:12Speaker 3: you remember his comments about the team, So I think weiss.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Jared Rice of we haven't had last forget how to
- 22:20Speaker 3: say his last name, but any who, he asked a
- 22:22Speaker 3: question about like, hey, what happened to this, you know,
- 22:24Speaker 3: and that collapsed with the team, and he said it
- 22:27Speaker 3: started way before the fourth quarter. And I thought Draymond
- 22:30Speaker 3: Green he had a really great comment on the postgame
- 22:33Speaker 3: show stating that Wimby as the leader because everyone in
- 22:37Speaker 3: the team says that Wimby is our leader. You know,
- 22:39Speaker 3: he goes as far as he goes, blah blah blah blah.
- 22:41Speaker 3: But Draymond basically summed it up by saying, I would
- 22:44Speaker 3: have really liked if Wimby went out there and said
- 22:47Speaker 3: I started to take bad shots and my teammates followed suit,
- 22:51Speaker 3: and we just we fell apart after that.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I think that would I think Draymond hit it right
- 22:55Speaker 4: on the head. As a leader.
- 22:56Speaker 3: You know, it's tough to go out there and say, yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 3: I play bad and my teammates followed. But at the
- 23:01Speaker 3: same time, your teammates look up to you, and I
- 23:03Speaker 3: think that would have been an opportunity for him to
- 23:05Speaker 3: just say, you know what, I was taking bad shots
- 23:08Speaker 3: and my teammates followed suit, and that's what happened. I
- 23:12Speaker 3: gotta be better for Game five coming up, and I
- 23:14Speaker 3: will be so a little learning moment someone Draymond, who's
- 23:17Speaker 3: won multiple championships. I don't think he is someone to
- 23:20Speaker 3: shy away from criticism in terms of I need to
- 23:23Speaker 3: play better.
- 23:23Speaker 4: He does that all the time.
- 23:25Speaker 3: So that's just one thing that stood out to me
- 23:27Speaker 3: from inside the NBA that I thought I wanted to
- 23:29Speaker 3: point out.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Back on the text, Signe, this is a good question
- 23:32Speaker 1: from the two oh six. If Soresby ends up playing
- 23:35Speaker 1: this year, do you think the NFL would punish him
- 23:37Speaker 1: if he got drafted dixt year. I think I think
- 23:41Speaker 1: the NFL would punish him by not drafting them. Not
- 23:44Speaker 1: very punishment. There are a lot of teams that will
- 23:47Speaker 1: not bring him in because of that. Because of I mean,
- 23:51Speaker 1: that's just a rubicon for a lot of people in sports.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Is you don't you just don't cross. You don't bet
- 23:56Speaker 1: on the sport you play in, You don't bet on
- 23:58Speaker 1: the team you're playing. Four And I personally know NBA
- 24:02Speaker 1: NFL executives, some of them in this building that I'm
- 24:05Speaker 1: sitting in right now. He'll say, yeah, we're not taking
- 24:09Speaker 1: that guy. I don't care how good of a quarterback.
- 24:10Speaker 1: And it's not like he's lighting the world on fire.
- 24:12Speaker 1: He has a very spotted career on the field, playing
- 24:15Speaker 1: as at times a backup for Indiana and for the
- 24:18Speaker 1: University of Cincinnati before Texas Tech threw five million at him.
- 24:21Speaker 1: He's not the NFL people I talked to said, he's
- 24:23Speaker 1: not a bonafide NFL prospect or quarterback. He's a project
- 24:28Speaker 1: that maybe I think in punishment, maybe he doesn't get drafted.
- 24:32Speaker 1: But that's a good question, a good point. And Bill's
- 24:34Speaker 1: over Oilers, yep, thirty five to three. The Oilers were
- 24:39Speaker 1: leading the Bills in Orchard Park in January. I think
- 24:41Speaker 1: it was nineteen ninety one, ninety twos, driving back from
- 24:44Speaker 1: Ohio to West Point at the end of Christmas break
- 24:46Speaker 1: listening to that game, not believe in it. And the
- 24:48Speaker 1: Oilers blew a thirty Warren Moons Oilers blew a thirty
- 24:53Speaker 1: five to three lead in the divisional playoffs in Orchard Park.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It wasn't Jim Kelly that brought the Bills back. That
- 24:58Speaker 1: was Frank Wright up quarterback that brought the Bills all
- 25:01Speaker 1: the way back to win that playoff game. After a
- 25:04Speaker 1: thirty five to three deficity Yeah, that's a good call too,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but that wasn't also for a league title. That was
- 25:08Speaker 1: a divisional playoff game. Up next to Ian for Ness,
- 25:11Speaker 1: the Mayor and Maple Valley's joining me out here at
- 25:13Speaker 1: Seahawks practice at Seahawks Headquarters. He will join me next
- 25:16Speaker 1: to tell me what's on his show. Tell you all
- 25:19Speaker 1: what's on his show next. The World Cup kicks off
- 25:22Speaker 1: in eighty minutes in Mexico City, Mexico City and South Africa.
- 25:28Speaker 1: It kicks off in Seattle on Monday, Belgium and Egypt Mosava.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Good Bryan, it's going to be a World Cup. We're
- 25:39Speaker 1: gonna all be talking about the World Cup events, even
- 25:41Speaker 1: if you don't like soccer. I have a feeling. On
- 25:43Speaker 1: ninety three point three KJRFM, Welcome back to the Virginia
- 25:50Speaker 1: Mason Athletics Center, Seahawks Headquarters, Seahawks Mini Camp on ninety
- 25:54Speaker 1: three point three KJRFM with Greg Bell, Christopher Kidd, and
- 25:57Speaker 1: now Ian Furness, who when I just stuck my head
- 26:00Speaker 1: outside to practice to go find the end to him
- 26:03Speaker 1: have him join us. I noticed that Jedarian Price was
- 26:06Speaker 1: with the ones taking a pitch from Sam Donald in
- 26:10Speaker 1: the first team offense.
- 26:11Speaker 8: He just I heard you talking about that on the
- 26:13Speaker 8: way in like his first snap of the year. First
- 26:20Speaker 8: of all, if he doesn't take it, not only is
- 26:22Speaker 8: it is it a surprise, it's also probably I would say,
- 26:27Speaker 8: like a pretty bad indictment on him.
- 26:29Speaker 9: It's a problem.
- 26:30Speaker 8: Yeah, he's your first round pick as a running back
- 26:32Speaker 8: and you have a and you're replacing a guy, right
- 26:34Speaker 8: like that would be I would think it would be
- 26:37Speaker 8: a pretty bad indictment on what's going on.
- 26:40Speaker 9: There's no he's the guy.
- 26:41Speaker 8: Yeah, it's the gymnastics we play right with training camp
- 26:45Speaker 8: in mini camps, it's like, you're rookie, you're gonna where was.
- 26:48Speaker 9: Zabel a year ago?
- 26:49Speaker 1: Was he with the day one starter?
- 26:50Speaker 9: Day one starter?
- 26:51Speaker 1: He was? He was peculiar in that regard.
- 26:54Speaker 9: Notice because I believe Lucas wasn't Cross.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Was That's right, Crosscross was a day one starter.
- 26:59Speaker 8: Luke was like, we're like two weeks into camp and
- 27:03Speaker 8: I don't even know who was in front of him,
- 27:06Speaker 8: but it was like, Okay, you're the third round pick.
- 27:08Speaker 8: Might have been I've been might have been a booshie. Yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 8: he was like, you're the third round pick. You're gonna
- 27:15Speaker 8: earn it for a couple of days or week ors,
- 27:17Speaker 8: but it was like, what are we doing? But yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 8: cross day one is able day one.
- 27:22Speaker 9: Uh, he'll be He'll be the day one guy.
- 27:24Speaker 1: So coach Alani is hanging on the reminder that he'll
- 27:27Speaker 1: be in their plans. But yeah, for sure that this day.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I was mentioning on the way in between the staffers
- 27:33Speaker 1: and the people in the building and not just the
- 27:35Speaker 1: players and coaches. This is a unique day. It's not
- 27:37Speaker 1: every day you show.
- 27:40Speaker 8: Today, correct, It's it's the football op staff and then
- 27:44Speaker 8: team and all that. I think it cause everybody else
- 27:46Speaker 8: I heard yesterday everybody else got fitted for the rings
- 27:48Speaker 8: last week, like the rest, Like if you're in corporate
- 27:51Speaker 8: sales and all that, but everyone gets one. Yep, you
- 27:53Speaker 8: work here, you get one, and you should because you
- 27:55Speaker 8: contribute whatever that everyone. Yeah, I'm excited to see what
- 27:59Speaker 8: it looks like experience. But yeah, what a cool what
- 28:02Speaker 8: a cool thing for those guys to do. What a
- 28:03Speaker 8: great thing they did yesterday, Like like this the community
- 28:07Speaker 8: outreach they did. I think that's just so you know,
- 28:12Speaker 8: it's always kind of been part of sports, right, visiting
- 28:15Speaker 8: hospitals or community centers and doing things, and a lot
- 28:18Speaker 8: of times it's done what for really, frankly, for being
- 28:20Speaker 8: honest with you, for marketing right to sell tickets and
- 28:23Speaker 8: to get people kind of on your side. There's some
- 28:25Speaker 8: teams that really need to do that. There's other teams
- 28:27Speaker 8: that don't. They don't need to do that, like that's
- 28:30Speaker 8: they could just they could hunker down. There were there.
- 28:32Speaker 8: You know this, there's football coaches that would say, we
- 28:35Speaker 8: get three days with these guys. We're not doing that,
- 28:37Speaker 8: blah blah blah. We're trying to find a super Bowl.
- 28:39Speaker 8: This is what we do football, football, football. No, man,
- 28:42Speaker 8: I thought I thought yesterday was awesome and a shout out.
- 28:45Speaker 8: I didn't realize what Chris was doing.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the TAY Volunteers.
- 28:48Speaker 9: Good for you, buddy, Good for you. O day, brother,
- 28:52Speaker 9: thank you, my man, for doing what you do in
- 28:54Speaker 9: the community. Sir, that's awesome.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Chris, absolutely, thank you.
- 28:56Speaker 1: With teams that needed, with teams that needed and they
- 28:59Speaker 1: were pretty happy.
- 29:00Speaker 9: Who so was Drake Drake Thomas? Was there?
- 29:02Speaker 7: Is?
- 29:02Speaker 4: You said, Chris, Yeah, Drake was there?
- 29:04Speaker 1: A J Barner? Patty?
- 29:06Speaker 9: Patty Drake's one. What kind of game does he have? Basketball?
- 29:12Speaker 3: You could tell he's a football player, but he you know,
- 29:16Speaker 3: he he took the challenge right, he accepted it. The
- 29:19Speaker 3: kids were talking crazy, you know, competing so NFL players
- 29:23Speaker 3: they don't back down. And Drake he had a couple
- 29:25Speaker 3: of nice and ones and he's like, we ain't calling
- 29:27Speaker 3: fouls out here. That might have been Patty that said that,
- 29:29Speaker 3: but the kids are beating them up. You know, Drake
- 29:32Speaker 3: Thomas ain't six feet he's short, but he's stout. And
- 29:35Speaker 3: he went to the bathroom a couple of times and
- 29:37Speaker 3: had a couple of and one let's say, there you go, man,
- 29:39Speaker 3: let him know you ain't no slouch and he started laughing.
- 29:41Speaker 9: Drake's listened at five to eleven and that's.
- 29:43Speaker 4: That's that's he's stretched.
- 29:45Speaker 3: He's two three inches taller than me, but he has
- 29:47Speaker 3: one hundred pounds on me.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, so it was.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Cool seeing those guys compete, and yeah, they they broke
- 29:56Speaker 3: some sweat because they was like, yeah, we're not losing
- 29:58Speaker 3: these kids, you kidding me?
- 29:59Speaker 4: So they took it a little series.
- 30:02Speaker 9: That's weird.
- 30:04Speaker 1: You're right about Mike McDonald and most coaches, and McDonald
- 30:08Speaker 1: is a nerd. He's a football nerd. He wants to
- 30:10Speaker 1: be in the iPad and he wants to talk about overfront,
- 30:13Speaker 1: so that he'd rather do that, But he also has
- 30:16Speaker 1: a bigger picture for these guys and he really takes
- 30:20Speaker 1: the leader of men part of it really seriously. That's
- 30:23Speaker 1: his military background and ethos from his father. But I
- 30:26Speaker 1: studied at West Point transactional leadership versus transformational leadership, and
- 30:32Speaker 1: Mike McDonald every day shows me transformational leadership of investing
- 30:36Speaker 1: in the guys as people. They do walk in talks.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I don't know if you've discussed this on your show,
- 30:41Speaker 1: but they have players in small groups now who walk
- 30:44Speaker 1: around the building of the practice field or the perimeter
- 30:46Speaker 1: of the field along Lake Washington with the Eagles and
- 30:48Speaker 1: then at at like ten o'clock in the morning after
- 30:52Speaker 1: a walk through or maybe after a meeting, and they
- 30:54Speaker 1: don't talk about football. They talk about everything. Where are
- 30:58Speaker 1: you from, how your parents do, did you get a
- 31:01Speaker 1: place to live when you moved out here? What brought
- 31:03Speaker 1: you here? What's your why? When they have meetings, positional meetings.
- 31:08Speaker 1: It started last year in the offseason, they talk about
- 31:11Speaker 1: what's your why. Leonard Williams got in front of the
- 31:13Speaker 1: defense last year and talked about being homeless for a
- 31:16Speaker 1: time in Daytona Beach, Florida Maitland High School before USC
- 31:19Speaker 1: found them. A former coach at Maitland became a USC
- 31:22Speaker 1: assistant who then recruited him to USC and the rest
- 31:24Speaker 1: is history. But that's some of Leonard Williams's why. And
- 31:28Speaker 1: these guys get so vulnerable talking to each other about themselves,
- 31:32Speaker 1: the essence of themselves. They can't help but love each
- 31:35Speaker 1: other after doing that. And McDonald has steward all of
- 31:37Speaker 1: that in two years, less than two years.
- 31:40Speaker 8: I had a couple people last year in the organization
- 31:46Speaker 8: tell me that they said, Man, they said, Ian, it's
- 31:50Speaker 8: too bad you're not doing this every day anymore. You
- 31:52Speaker 8: would love this group and you would love dealing with
- 31:55Speaker 8: this group on the road and after games winter lot
- 31:58Speaker 8: win or lose, things like that. And the reference also
- 32:01Speaker 8: was as like the last two years that I was
- 32:04Speaker 8: working with Fox and we were doing it, it was
- 32:06Speaker 8: hard like you could tell that locker room was not good.
- 32:10Speaker 8: You and I've talked about that a number of anybody
- 32:12Speaker 8: that was in there, and and I thought, man, there's
- 32:15Speaker 8: something wrong, something just functional. And it's like it's kind
- 32:18Speaker 8: of one of the reasons, like I never thought they
- 32:19Speaker 8: would get rid of Peak Carroll, but then it.
- 32:20Speaker 9: Didn't surprise me they got rid of Peak call. They
- 32:22Speaker 9: just it just was it.
- 32:23Speaker 8: They needed a culture change top to bottom. And I've
- 32:26Speaker 8: heard that so much about these guys and what a
- 32:29Speaker 8: great group they are. It's so interesting because they're so understated.
- 32:33Speaker 8: They're so I mean, there's there's a superstar in JSN.
- 32:36Speaker 8: That's what if you're the MVP, that's what you are.
- 32:40Speaker 8: But really you look around. Witherspoon's a really good player.
- 32:44Speaker 8: You don't hear him being talked about around the lad
- 32:46Speaker 8: He's gonna get paid like it is, But yeah, he's
- 32:47Speaker 8: not an all pro. There's not a national Yeah there's
- 32:50Speaker 8: not the twenty thirteen when NFL Films was here. There's
- 32:54Speaker 8: still a few guys here. But when they were here
- 32:55Speaker 8: in mass on Tuesday, it's like, you know, different than
- 32:59Speaker 8: twenty twenty thirteen. They'd be like, God, we got to
- 33:01Speaker 8: talk to this guy and this guy and this guy.
- 33:03Speaker 8: This guy won't talk to us, but this other guy
- 33:05Speaker 8: will like and all that. Now it's just like this
- 33:07Speaker 8: collection of guys. And I think what you said is
- 33:09Speaker 8: really important that you know, where does that come from
- 33:11Speaker 8: that camaraderie. That brotherhood comes from McDonald and then it
- 33:15Speaker 8: obviously comes from things that they do outside of meetings
- 33:17Speaker 8: in football. And you know, whether it's walking talks, whether
- 33:20Speaker 8: it's what they did yesterday really important and you can
- 33:24Speaker 8: tell that they play for each other. You can truly
- 33:26Speaker 8: tell that, and I think that's an important thing. I
- 33:29Speaker 8: think it's also why you can have an incident like
- 33:31Speaker 8: you had a couple of years ago with Jaron Reid
- 33:33Speaker 8: and Derek Hall and that's okay, Like that's okay. The
- 33:39Speaker 8: previous iterations of this team, it wouldn't have been okay.
- 33:42Speaker 8: There would have been issues, but there's a respect to Jaron,
- 33:45Speaker 8: and Hall gets it. He's now been rewarded. He's obviously
- 33:49Speaker 8: one of them and one of their guys. I mean, listen,
- 33:52Speaker 8: the only thing going bad for this team is what
- 33:54Speaker 8: happened in Southern California this season. That's true, right, That's
- 34:00Speaker 8: the only thing going wrong. So what do you get today?
- 34:04Speaker 8: We're gonna check in with a couple of things. One,
- 34:06Speaker 8: Drake Thomas is gonna join us at one o'clock. Yeah,
- 34:08Speaker 8: you know, Sarahs in the one o'clock hour. Week we
- 34:10Speaker 8: visit with our baseball nerd speaking of nerds, iPads and stuff.
- 34:13Speaker 9: He'll join us.
- 34:14Speaker 8: Thomas Drants from the Athletic also does a radio in Vancouver,
- 34:18Speaker 8: is gonna join us at two o'clock. We'll talk about
- 34:20Speaker 8: the interesting move today by the crack.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they took the former GM of the Canucks. There's
- 34:25Speaker 1: an assistant GM here.
- 34:28Speaker 8: Here's the let me go glass half empty and we
- 34:30Speaker 8: gotta go glass half empty. They hired the GM who
- 34:33Speaker 8: got fired from the worst team in.
- 34:34Speaker 9: The NHL glass half full.
- 34:38Speaker 8: Pretty respected hockey guy that might have been the victim
- 34:41Speaker 8: of poor ownership, and a guy in Jim Rutherford above
- 34:44Speaker 8: him that kind of was running the show. So I
- 34:46Speaker 8: think a good move today. But we'll talk to Thomas
- 34:48Speaker 8: and see what he says. Coming up at two o'clock.
- 34:49Speaker 8: So gets the World Cup stuff in there as well.
- 34:52Speaker 8: A lot of Seahawks conversation, a lot of Mariners as well.
- 34:54Speaker 9: We got a busy day.
- 34:56Speaker 1: There's not a power surge when logan Thomas Drake Thomas
- 34:59Speaker 1: comes in this piece.
- 35:00Speaker 8: This equipment might be better than the one that was
- 35:02Speaker 8: that was made back when you were at the West Point.
- 35:04Speaker 9: I think we're okay.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Paper cups and wires.
- 35:07Speaker 9: Yeah, I think this one's okay. This one's okay.
- 35:10Speaker 1: And and Andrews. If we can break Andrews away from
- 35:12Speaker 1: the World Cup opener, We'll be joining in from twelve
- 35:14Speaker 1: until three at the Virginia Mason Athletics Center. Greg Bell
- 35:17Speaker 1: the newstributing Christopher Head. Thanks for listening. We'll do it
- 35:19Speaker 1: again tomorrow. I'll be back in the studio in Lapa
- 35:22Speaker 1: with Chris Ends up next from Seahawks Headquarters on ninety
- 35:25Speaker 1: three point three KJRFM.
