Latest / Relatables / EP 19 - WHAT DID THEY DRUNK TEXT YOU THIS TIME
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on relatables.
- 0:01Speaker 2: What's the dumbest thing your ex has drunkenly called or
- 0:05Speaker 2: texted blocked him everywhere? So he transferred me money to
- 0:10Speaker 2: get in contact.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I've heard this before. That's heinous. It better be like
- 0:15Speaker 1: over one hundred bucks.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, if he's going to do that, he better
- 0:19Speaker 2: be transferring, you know, less than one hundred dollars and
- 0:22Speaker 2: in the note being like, babe, please I.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Maybe please imagine if it's like zero point zero one?
- 0:32Speaker 1: My god, relatable? Should I get wire motorcycle license? Slash
- 0:49Speaker 1: buy a motorbike? Oh god? You love buying. You thought
- 1:00Speaker 1: it could be like a new segment where I just
- 1:03Speaker 1: tell you the things I want to buy, and you
- 1:04Speaker 1: tell me if it's a good idea or if it's not,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and then the business can buy them and get a tax. Right.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But here's my thinking. Right, let me justify it first.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Our new studio is less than ten minutes from my house.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm driving there probably twice a day, five days a week,
- 1:20Speaker 1: because I go back for lunch and I'll go to
- 1:21Speaker 1: the gym or something, and the gym is on the
- 1:23Speaker 1: way to my house. I might as well stop in there. Yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 1: what the gym is on the way to my house. No,
- 1:28Speaker 1: what did I say? That's not right.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Your house is on Your house is on the way
- 1:32Speaker 2: to the studio, so you may as well stop back
- 1:33Speaker 2: there on.
- 1:34Speaker 1: The way to the gym, so I may as well
- 1:36Speaker 1: stop back there.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Correct. Anyway, I'm doing a lot of trips in my car.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And it's also like the quietest road ever. Your prices, guys,
- 1:43Speaker 1: everyone knows what's going on in the world. And then
- 1:46Speaker 1: I was thinking I wanted an electric bike. But the
- 1:48Speaker 1: hype's there because like we're on the Gold Coast at
- 1:50Speaker 1: the moment, like fucking fifteen year old kids love them.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Pipe's there. Oh yeah, that means prices are up. Stocks
- 1:56Speaker 1: are up for electric bikes. You know where stocks are
- 1:58Speaker 1: down old petrol bikes because they're boring and old. But
- 2:02Speaker 1: I like old. I think you should get a posty bike. Yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I'm thinking around the two K budget. Mark two k budget,
- 2:09Speaker 1: But can I should get my liscenes because I could Also,
- 2:11Speaker 1: because I can ride a bike, I could get away
- 2:13Speaker 1: from riding from my house to the studio. About no
- 2:16Speaker 1: police listening out having a license dang risky. Yeah, but
- 2:22Speaker 1: also there's not going to do it.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Once easy get them open like a scooter from Bali.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You still have a license for that. Yeah, true, especially,
- 2:30Speaker 1: so what's the verdict.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I think it'd be fun because then when I come
- 2:34Speaker 2: down I can ride it every.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Now, Yeah, it seems like a no brainer. Well, I'll
- 2:41Speaker 1: recuperate how much it costs in fuel.
- 2:45Speaker 2: It kind of is a no brainer because in my opinion,
- 2:48Speaker 2: when you say it out loud, like, in my opinion,
- 2:51Speaker 2: what's happening with fuel right now is happening for a reason, right,
- 2:54Speaker 2: But I have this thing, and I have a feeling
- 2:58Speaker 2: everyone feels this way. Like the company that sell the
- 3:01Speaker 2: fuel to us put the prices up because they started
- 3:04Speaker 2: paying more, but also like how much further are the
- 3:08Speaker 2: price is going to come down even if it goes
- 3:10Speaker 2: back to normal, like they price Scout and get away
- 3:13Speaker 2: with it all the fucking time.
- 3:14Speaker 1: So you're probably probably worth it, And you know what,
- 3:17Speaker 1: I want to start doing that because you know, when
- 3:19Speaker 1: you're out these days and like the first conversation is like,
- 3:22Speaker 1: oh said fuel prices, like we do it, but nope,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'll drop a.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Bike and that it coves me five bucks regardless is
- 3:29Speaker 2: my I saw someone make a video being like that
- 3:33Speaker 2: they were at like the outskirts of a festival, a
- 3:36Speaker 2: little street festival, right, and they go. Every single person
- 3:40Speaker 2: in here, I guarantee you three days ago complained about
- 3:43Speaker 2: the fuel prices, and now they're here spending money on
- 3:46Speaker 2: drinks and drugs and having a good time. Quit complaining
- 3:51Speaker 2: about shit if you're just going to go spend your
- 3:53Speaker 2: money on other shit.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Oh but I don't know if I like that debate.
- 3:56Speaker 2: What do you mean you think that someone that that's
- 3:58Speaker 2: out here going all fuel prices are crazyah blah blah.
- 4:00Speaker 1: But then they go and spend money.
- 4:01Speaker 2: On like cocaine and alcohol on the weekend has a
- 4:03Speaker 2: leg to stand on they do.
- 4:05Speaker 1: That's really buying fuel. Spending your money on fuel is
- 4:07Speaker 1: not fun. But also I feel that it's a terrible comparison.
- 4:10Speaker 2: If somebody wants to go out and drink alcohol, by
- 4:13Speaker 2: all means, if somebody wants to do drugs, do what
- 4:17Speaker 2: you want to do. I'm not going to promote that,
- 4:18Speaker 2: but do what you want to do. But at the
- 4:20Speaker 2: same time, don't complain about fuel prices. If you're going
- 4:24Speaker 2: to spend the money on those things too, I don't
- 4:26Speaker 2: complain about reckon.
- 4:26Speaker 1: That's the equivalent of like saying it's like comparing insurance
- 4:30Speaker 1: to a holiday and saying it's the same thing insurance
- 4:34Speaker 1: to a holiday. Yeah, they're saying, if you're going to
- 4:36Speaker 1: go out and buy, if you're going to go out
- 4:37Speaker 1: on a holiday, don't complain about insurance. You can't.
- 4:42Speaker 2: If you can afford a holiday, then why are you
- 4:45Speaker 2: complaining about insurance?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Do your reckon?
- 4:47Speaker 2: That's fine, you can afford to go drink alcohol and
- 4:50Speaker 2: do cocaine, but you're going to complain about the fuel price.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But one's fun and one sucks off.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can't complain about the other. If you're
- 4:58Speaker 2: going to have fun doing one of them, I reckon
- 4:59Speaker 2: you can.
- 5:00Speaker 1: That's the part that's part of being a human moaning.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Now, the Relatables podcast is so sed by myself Jake
- 5:07Speaker 2: Craig aka Daddy and my partner in crimes to Ottie
- 5:11Speaker 2: Clark aka Mummy, and I've been intrigued. You've you've had
- 5:18Speaker 2: what is it going on? Three weeks living with your
- 5:20Speaker 2: girlfriend now million months? Yeah, how's it going great? Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 2: I'm thoroughly enjoying it. There's a lot of adjustment, but overall, yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 2: I'm thoroughly.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Besides stepping around some things, enjoying being in each other's
- 5:37Speaker 1: presence a lot more, and like coming home to her
- 5:41Speaker 1: is I really look forward to that, And it's kind
- 5:43Speaker 1: of like the next phase in a relationship. And I
- 5:45Speaker 1: guess like I can start to connect the dots more
- 5:48Speaker 1: to like seeing a family form or something like that.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Not to say, I think we are adjusting being in
- 5:55Speaker 1: each other's presence a lot more and just being two
- 5:58Speaker 1: people who have completely different lives. We're going to butt
- 6:00Speaker 1: a little bit more. We've had a couple of moments
- 6:02Speaker 1: like that, but anyone would have. Like we've had holidays
- 6:05Speaker 1: four months at a time together, but living is different
- 6:07Speaker 1: because we do our day to day life and life
- 6:10Speaker 1: you get antsy in life. Holiday you're fucking in the
- 6:12Speaker 1: best mood ever.
- 6:13Speaker 3: It's a good point and on a holiday it's holidays
- 6:16Speaker 3: are different.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and we both like live our own lives and
- 6:19Speaker 1: then we come back together and there's been a couple
- 6:20Speaker 1: of moments where we've had to like, how would you
- 6:24Speaker 1: It's something we haven't experienced in our relationship before, and
- 6:26Speaker 1: we've had to learn how to deal with it. Okay, Yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 1: which is good, but like there's a hurdle and we're
- 6:31Speaker 1: getting over it together. Yea, yeah, yah, yeah yeah. And
- 6:35Speaker 1: do you find like.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Is there any kind of just like random conflicts that
- 6:40Speaker 2: you could say and like how you overcame them.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I don't know. It's kind of like I want to
- 6:49Speaker 1: talk about it, but I don't. I think what I
- 6:51Speaker 1: can say is how I became one and I was
- 6:54Speaker 1: the reason it was a fight. Yeah, And I think
- 6:57Speaker 1: the resolution we came to was, I especially if I'm
- 7:02Speaker 1: dieting at the moment, and I think I'm very antsy
- 7:06Speaker 1: and like on the edge of like I'm like kind
- 7:10Speaker 1: of going to blow a little bit more than usual
- 7:12Speaker 1: just because we're hungry. I'm in a bad mood. And
- 7:14Speaker 1: what happens in our relationship is she'll say something that
- 7:17Speaker 1: is a normal problem and then I'll go like, oh,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'll have a reaction that's immediate, and she'll react to
- 7:21Speaker 1: my reaction, and but I'm only having that reaction because
- 7:25Speaker 1: I'm even in a bad mood. I'm hungry, blah blah
- 7:27Speaker 1: blah blah blah, and I escalate this problem like that,
- 7:29Speaker 1: and I need to reflect that I'm doing this in
- 7:31Speaker 1: my life and dieting because I want it, But I
- 7:33Speaker 1: shouldn't have a byproduct that affects her. Yeah, if that
- 7:37Speaker 1: makes sense. Yeah, I don't want to sell that exact
- 7:40Speaker 1: fight was because it's personal, but yeah, that's where one
- 7:43Speaker 1: of the resolutions was. Dang, it's kind of funny how much.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Like I would say, the little things that started to
- 7:52Speaker 2: come up when Beth and I first moved in together,
- 7:55Speaker 2: they are still around now really, even though we're both
- 8:01Speaker 2: very aware of them, and so it's like, I don't
- 8:05Speaker 2: it's it's funny.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's funny.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I would like, there's things that have improved, and then
- 8:11Speaker 2: I don't know if maybe new things come, and then
- 8:14Speaker 2: I would say that the biggest, like my biggest piece
- 8:20Speaker 2: of advice to anyone is to just like I'm bad
- 8:24Speaker 2: at it and I need to get better at it.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Just say how you feel, like just and if you
- 8:29Speaker 2: if they do something like that that makes.
- 8:33Speaker 1: You feel shitty, say it.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Like my biggest thing is like not wanting to make
- 8:38Speaker 2: Beth feel guilty about accidentally maybe hurting my feelings or
- 8:43Speaker 2: or like just like you know, making me feel shitty
- 8:46Speaker 2: or whatever, like and then I bottle it and I
- 8:51Speaker 2: think that I'm hiding it and brushing it off. But
- 8:56Speaker 2: like she can tell even though I think I'm being
- 8:59Speaker 2: super normal.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And there's like it's like escalating a little bit.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and then it's kind of like maybe you She'll
- 9:05Speaker 2: be thinking like, look, I know, I know this is
- 9:07Speaker 2: a thing that I can tell. Maybe I can't speak
- 9:09Speaker 2: for Beth, but I just think like communication and saying
- 9:12Speaker 2: how you feel like that. That advice of communication is
- 9:15Speaker 2: like the best thing is like, hands down, I'm like
- 9:18Speaker 2: living it. Communication is the hugest thing. Also communication styles.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Okay, so.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I personally am I don't know if it's because I'm soft.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Maybe I'm soft and Mormon fuzzy. I have no idea
- 9:35Speaker 2: sensitive might be a better word. But I hate it
- 9:40Speaker 2: when Beth talks to me like I am stupid. Sometimes
- 9:45Speaker 2: I have to stop and be like, best, I don't
- 9:46Speaker 2: like the way you're talking to me right now. But
- 9:48Speaker 2: she like if I spoke to her like that, she
- 9:51Speaker 2: would be totally one percent.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Normal and we're different in that way.
- 9:55Speaker 2: And I don't know if that's like the in exact
- 9:57Speaker 2: perfect thing, but so it's like and so one thing
- 10:01Speaker 2: that's funny is I talk to Beth if she's done something.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I talk to her the way that I would want
- 10:06Speaker 2: to be to its spoken to. And she's like, you're
- 10:08Speaker 2: making me feel like I'm the worst person in the world.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And I'm like three years old, like just tell me, like,
- 10:15Speaker 2: just spit it out, like I HeSE fit them I am.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I shuffle around it and then I'm trying to be like,
- 10:20Speaker 2: but it's okay, and I love you, blah blah blah
- 10:22Speaker 2: blah and maybe just maybe next time, can you please?
- 10:24Speaker 2: And she's like, just tell me what I did and
- 10:25Speaker 2: tell me what you didn't like, and I won't do
- 10:27Speaker 2: it again.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'm terrible at just getting to the point. No,
- 10:30Speaker 1: I really feel that because in a sense, what we're
- 10:33Speaker 1: trying to figure out is that like I can't see
- 10:36Speaker 1: what her head is thinking, and she can't see what
- 10:39Speaker 1: my head is thinking. And that sounds so dumb, but
- 10:42Speaker 1: the only way to see each other's point of views
- 10:44Speaker 1: is to communicate. It's so but also it's easier said
- 10:47Speaker 1: than done. I hate because communication, Yeah, because there also
- 10:51Speaker 1: is a time and a place where you don't have
- 10:52Speaker 1: to say anything. Yeah, And there's like finding the line
- 10:56Speaker 1: of that. And I think I'm similar to you, where
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'll just bottle up a little bit more and then
- 10:59Speaker 1: there'll be one final comment and I'm just like this,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and I think I'm definitely worse this because I've been
- 11:05Speaker 1: a bit stressed in life and whatever. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Let's put the brakes on.
- 11:10Speaker 2: We all know why you're really here, and that's to
- 11:13Speaker 2: see who won the Harry Styles giveaway.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I thought that were here to listen to us. I'm
- 11:17Speaker 1: afraid not. It's just how it is. It is, which
- 11:21Speaker 1: is okay because it's Harry fucking Styles. Let's go. Let's
- 11:24Speaker 1: announce the giveaway winner. The winner is Emma Lou with
- 11:32Speaker 1: the comment Emma Lou, friend of the podcast in Bracket's
- 11:35Speaker 1: best friend.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Jazz, I can't believe that, guy, Josen.
- 11:41Speaker 1: We will be in contact with you on Spotify, so check.
- 11:44Speaker 1: We're going to follow you and also comment on your comments.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So look at your profile for us. I'll tell you
- 11:50Speaker 1: what's funny too. This is relatable. You and I sort
- 11:54Speaker 1: of go through life together because of what we do
- 11:56Speaker 1: the podcast. But it's really cool. We're now twenty six,
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm twenty five, you're nearly yeah, coming up, But like
- 12:04Speaker 1: seeing I saw a funny video and it was like
- 12:08Speaker 1: our friendship group has stopped talking to each other anymore,
- 12:11Speaker 1: like pretty much completely. And it was like the caption
- 12:14Speaker 1: was like your friends finally catch up again after like
- 12:17Speaker 1: five years, and it's all everyone on each other's different quests,
- 12:21Speaker 1: and it's like they go up to someone and it's
- 12:22Speaker 1: like you and I I was like me just moving
- 12:24Speaker 1: with my girlfriend. You go to another person and it
- 12:26Speaker 1: freezes and it's like construction worker, go to another person,
- 12:28Speaker 1: party goer, go to another one, found themselves traveling, go
- 12:30Speaker 1: to another one. Found god and like another god having
- 12:33Speaker 1: a kid, and like it's like it's like so crazy
- 12:36Speaker 1: to see. And I was definitely naive in a sense
- 12:38Speaker 1: when I was like eight and I was thinking, like
- 12:40Speaker 1: we're gonna be fucking boys for life, and like just
- 12:43Speaker 1: reflecting and all these different different people who meant so
- 12:46Speaker 1: much to me at different times. Yes, what they're doing now,
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't know. It's definitely that's not Sounder, it's something else,
- 12:51Speaker 1: but that really like wigs me out.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I remember thinking the same thing.
- 13:00Speaker 2: So I remember thinking the group we had was going
- 13:03Speaker 2: to be like rite or die.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Like I was like, I.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Just can't see anything happening. And the funny thing is
- 13:12Speaker 2: is that nothing happened apart from life, and so it's
- 13:17Speaker 2: become more and more evident in my years of life
- 13:21Speaker 2: that people that have even just one friend, Like if
- 13:27Speaker 2: someone's best friend is their best friend they met like preschool, kindergarten,
- 13:32Speaker 2: early school days, Like I think that is much more
- 13:35Speaker 2: rare than someone who has gone through life and had
- 13:39Speaker 2: different friends at different times, like I like you and
- 13:42Speaker 2: I met in year seven, kind of just went through
- 13:46Speaker 2: school together.
- 13:46Speaker 1: They weren't really like great friends, and then.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Became like best friends out of school, and I just
- 13:51Speaker 2: it's just the most it's it's weird people.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Well, it makes me reflect and appreciate friendships a lot more,
- 13:58Speaker 1: especially because, like we said, we're still young twenty sixty five,
- 14:01Speaker 1: imagine when we're fifty and shit like still holding onto
- 14:04Speaker 1: the same friendships, like they've already dissipated after what's that
- 14:08Speaker 1: six eight years after school's finished, and like if you
- 14:11Speaker 1: can still maintain that friendships And I know, like when
- 14:14Speaker 1: I was in school, I was thinking like, oh, yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: I've got like eight, ten, twelve friends. I was like, oh,
- 14:17Speaker 1: that's pretty normal. But I'm thinking like when we're like
- 14:19Speaker 1: thirty forty fifty, if you have one real good friend,
- 14:21Speaker 1: that's all the matters and just appreciating that. Shit.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I reckon it, like being fifty and having one
- 14:30Speaker 2: really good friend would be like major success in I reckon.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I remember thinking my dad was like, where's our dad's friends?
- 14:36Speaker 3: And shit, my dad actually funny enough.
- 14:38Speaker 2: He he has a group of friends that have been
- 14:41Speaker 2: friends since like freaking primary.
- 14:44Speaker 1: School, dude, and they still hang out.
- 14:46Speaker 3: And so they only hang out once.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Or twice a year because obviously.
- 14:50Speaker 2: They all live in places and life kids at different ages.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And then they'll always do like one golf boys trip
- 14:58Speaker 2: a year, and then every the year they end up
- 15:01Speaker 2: doing like an overseas trip these last couple of years.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I think it's because they have money now and they
- 15:05Speaker 1: all are luckily lucky enough to be able to do it.
- 15:07Speaker 2: But a lot of them bring their kids, Like I've
- 15:09Speaker 2: been to some camping trips with them, and it's funny
- 15:12Speaker 2: to see my dad when he's with his friends. And
- 15:15Speaker 2: you know what, it's even funnier is when his friends
- 15:19Speaker 2: talked to me about my dad and what.
- 15:21Speaker 1: He used to be, Like, oh, really, the funniest thing
- 15:25Speaker 1: I've never really got that they told me about the
- 15:27Speaker 1: fact that so my dad's.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Nickname in their group is red Wine Warrior because I assume.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He loves him, his fucking loves red wine. He doesn't.
- 15:41Speaker 2: He actually doesn't drink as much as he used to,
- 15:42Speaker 2: but he I think when he's out with his mates
- 15:44Speaker 2: it's when he kind of gets it.
- 15:46Speaker 1: And so, yeah, he's red.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Wine Warrior because like, out of all of them, I
- 15:50Speaker 2: think he's the only one that I just kind of
- 15:51Speaker 2: smash some red ones, like proper red wine drunk, which
- 15:54Speaker 2: is apparently different from normal drunk.
- 15:57Speaker 3: And yeah, that's his nickname and it's just the funniest.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Well do you ever miss too because you don't drink anymore?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Do you think you ever will again? I know, and
- 16:05Speaker 1: I barely drink, like maybe once or twice a year.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Do you ever have like reminiscence of sort of those
- 16:11Speaker 1: memories when we were getting drunk with our friends. We've
- 16:14Speaker 1: gone to hipster festivals, got absolutely magott, I remember it.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Do you ever reflect on that and think that was fun?
- 16:20Speaker 1: And like I could do it again?
- 16:22Speaker 3: I think that it was fun. I do think it
- 16:25Speaker 3: was fun, even.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Get an itch, I I think ever since I stopped drinking.
- 16:30Speaker 2: So it's twenty twenty six and it's April, correct, yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 2: We're in April twenty twenty six as of recording this,
- 16:36Speaker 2: and I the story with me and not drinking is
- 16:41Speaker 2: I did.
- 16:43Speaker 3: So.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I went through a breakup in twenty twenty one and
- 16:47Speaker 2: I was heartbroken from it, and then also.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Got quite heavily into the gym.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And also that year my mum relapsed on drugs and alcohol,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and alcohol has always been a thing for my mum,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and so I think all of that compounded into one
- 17:04Speaker 2: time I had a big night and I woke up
- 17:07Speaker 2: with just like the dump, like the worst head noise,
- 17:09Speaker 2: and I was like, I can't fucking do I want
- 17:13Speaker 2: to I want to try and not drink for a year.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I was like, I just want to try it, and
- 17:17Speaker 3: so I remember doing one year.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I just remember saying to all my mates, like randomly, like, no,
- 17:23Speaker 2: I'm not drinking, and everyone was kind of like, oh, really.
- 17:26Speaker 1: We were, and at this point in time, like everyone
- 17:27Speaker 1: was drinking every single weekend, yes exactly, yeah, And I
- 17:30Speaker 1: just was like, no, I'm not drinking. I'm drinking.
- 17:31Speaker 3: But and I was like Jim blah blah blah whatever.
- 17:34Speaker 3: And I think there was twice.
- 17:38Speaker 1: That year that I drank.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I got pep pressured out one of our friends. Twenty
- 17:43Speaker 2: first impressure and then I went to Canada and went
- 17:47Speaker 2: to a festival with my sister and her friends. And
- 17:50Speaker 2: then the year after that, I think I said to myself, Oh,
- 17:53Speaker 2: I'll drink whatever.
- 17:55Speaker 1: If I feel like it, I'll drink.
- 17:56Speaker 2: And then I drank it Balley and if you've been
- 17:59Speaker 2: listening since the first trip or you and I went
- 18:00Speaker 2: to BALI like when Patreon started and everything, then yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 2: And then I remember telling myself one of the nights
- 18:07Speaker 2: I was there, like, yeah, I'm just gonna have fun here.
- 18:09Speaker 2: We went out a few times, we got drunk a
- 18:12Speaker 2: couple of times, and I remember telling myself that when
- 18:14Speaker 2: I go home, I'm I'm gonna try the one year again,
- 18:16Speaker 2: but properly do the one year.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And ever since then, I haven't drink. Yeah, And do
- 18:21Speaker 1: you think like and I don't, you don't have any
- 18:24Speaker 1: I think I've had an itch once, okay, just once.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I've had an itch, yeah, because I'm like, I don't
- 18:29Speaker 1: have like, I don't know what would you call that,
- 18:32Speaker 1: like a purpose or to why I'm doing it? Doing what?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Not drinking?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's just like you will allow yourself
- 18:41Speaker 2: sometimes that's the thing pretty good, Like.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but I sometimes do have moments where like, fuck,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I wish I used to have that like a friendship group,
- 18:50Speaker 1: like we could just go and get maggot like we
- 18:52Speaker 1: used to. But then also like I don't like him aymore. No,
- 18:55Speaker 1: honestly me neither. You know what's funny is.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I talk about our old friendship group and I'll be like, oh,
- 19:02Speaker 2: I used to be.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Really good friends with that guy.
- 19:04Speaker 2: If a name comes up and maybe Beth hasn't met them,
- 19:06Speaker 2: like like, oh, I used to be really good friends
- 19:07Speaker 2: with them, And I think, like accepting the fact that
- 19:11Speaker 2: we aren't really friends anymore, it's just.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Like I've accepted that one. Yeah, even just like I
- 19:16Speaker 1: think what actually happens too is like a person's true
- 19:20Speaker 1: characteristics come through the other they get and like not
- 19:23Speaker 1: that they're a bad person, but they're a different person
- 19:27Speaker 1: to who Yeah, and like because we all grew up
- 19:29Speaker 1: in the same place, we had a lot of similarities.
- 19:31Speaker 1: We grew up near the beach. We're like playing sports,
- 19:34Speaker 1: watching sports, blah blah blah blah blah, like simple stuff.
- 19:36Speaker 1: But the older you get, you have more freedom to
- 19:38Speaker 1: do what you actually want to do. And you start
- 19:40Speaker 1: to realize, like their ideologies and views upon life are
- 19:43Speaker 1: very different to yours, and I think that's what actually
- 19:45Speaker 1: pulls you away. But yeah, it's interesting.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I don't I don't reach out to be fair.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I like to like I think when I say all this,
- 19:54Speaker 2: I'm not talking any sort of shit, Like it's just
- 19:56Speaker 2: more of like observational because like, I also don't reach
- 19:59Speaker 2: out like I I can go toe you that there's.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Multiple people in our old friend group that I could
- 20:02Speaker 3: reach out to him.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Why but we have one friend that's really funny, like
- 20:06Speaker 2: he's almost like a toxic ex boyfriend.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Today because it is relatable.
- 20:11Speaker 2: The only time that either audio or myself ever hear
- 20:14Speaker 2: from him is when he's drunk and it's late and
- 20:16Speaker 2: I wake up to a miss call and he's trying
- 20:19Speaker 2: to FaceTime me out like one day or two and
- 20:21Speaker 2: having this weekend it.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Reminded me of It's almost like here's a typical bloke
- 20:25Speaker 1: who can only communicate how he actually feels with the
- 20:30Speaker 1: help of alcohol. It's hilarious. And then he like because
- 20:33Speaker 1: sometimes you'll be nine or ten o'clock and we might
- 20:34Speaker 1: pick up and he's like, boys, we can hang out
- 20:38Speaker 1: more and then and then he just goes bloody a wall.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Alcohol is not there anymore. Finally enough when you're talking,
- 20:45Speaker 1: when you're talking about you like not reaching out and stuff.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I had a picture in my head of what you're
- 20:51Speaker 1: like now you're an adult, Like if you were a cartoon,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I reckon, you'd be like Patrick from SpongeBob. You know
- 20:57Speaker 1: his house he's under a rock. Yeah, dude, I feel
- 20:59Speaker 1: like that's your way, like no one else could get it,
- 21:04Speaker 1: like Jake's life. And then actually it's kind of like
- 21:06Speaker 1: nice in there, but liked it looks like a rock.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I was talking to Bethany the other day and she
- 21:17Speaker 2: was saying, like, so you and I we get social,
- 21:24Speaker 2: Like we talk to each other quite a bit and
- 21:26Speaker 2: and in full work granted, but we still do and
- 21:32Speaker 2: so we get kind of that social just what I
- 21:35Speaker 2: guess humans kind of.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Need or whatever.
- 21:37Speaker 2: But she was saying, like, if you do, you reckon,
- 21:38Speaker 2: Like let's just say podcast over and like you and
- 21:42Speaker 2: Addie kind of just went no contact just whatever reason?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Would you?
- 21:47Speaker 2: She said, would you feel the urge to go out
- 21:49Speaker 2: and meet people? And she was like I don't think
- 21:52Speaker 2: you would, And I was like, no, I also didn't.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I was like, I was gonna say, Beth, you would
- 21:58Speaker 2: be more than enough. I could be home all day
- 22:01Speaker 2: every day, just chilling, you know, hang out with you,
- 22:05Speaker 2: hang every and I wouldn't get depressed. I wouldn't get
- 22:09Speaker 2: any sort of urge to make any friends. Like it
- 22:11Speaker 2: just isn't. I'm confident that it is is because be's
- 22:14Speaker 2: the opposite.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, with Cassie, we just had a friend who moved
- 22:18Speaker 1: to the Gold Coast and we're here too, so you
- 22:20Speaker 1: and you kind of said something in the car. Similarly,
- 22:22Speaker 1: he was telling me about all the social things on
- 22:24Speaker 1: the Gold Coast and it's so good for meeting people
- 22:26Speaker 1: blah blah blah, communicating for work blah blah blah blah blah.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I was like, that's great, but I'm not going to
- 22:30Speaker 1: do it. No, And like I don't need that and
- 22:32Speaker 1: I don't want it. Like if I'm at the gym
- 22:33Speaker 1: and I'm at a new gym and I don't know
- 22:35Speaker 1: the person previously, I'm not talking to anyone, headphones are on,
- 22:38Speaker 1: and it's interesting to see like the differences in what
- 22:41Speaker 1: people need. It is like sometimes I love being an introvert,
- 22:46Speaker 1: but also sometimes I wish I was like a little
- 22:47Speaker 1: social butterfly and I could talk to everyone, but I
- 22:49Speaker 1: feel like an awkward little sweep when I do it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I find like, what is like because I say that
- 22:56Speaker 1: I'm an introvert, right, but well, I think we confuse
- 22:59Speaker 1: introvert diverting confidence where the different things.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was going to say, if i'm if
- 23:04Speaker 2: I'm out, I won't ever be the person to start
- 23:08Speaker 2: a conversation with a random, but if a random started
- 23:10Speaker 2: a conversation with me, I will keep it going, like
- 23:13Speaker 2: I won't.
- 23:14Speaker 1: You're gonna say I'll be the one to end no, no, no,
- 23:16Speaker 1: I won't be the one to end it or if
- 23:17Speaker 1: it needs to end. I can understand that.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Like I think I have good social I can understand
- 23:21Speaker 2: social huge quite well. But I will be like more
- 23:26Speaker 2: than happy to talk to someone and talk to them
- 23:28Speaker 2: for a while and get.
- 23:29Speaker 1: To know them and then be like, hey, it was
- 23:30Speaker 1: great to meet you, blah blah blah, like I'm not shy,
- 23:34Speaker 1: but I won't ever start it.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, So don't think I'm an introvert, you know what
- 23:37Speaker 2: I mean?
- 23:38Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like I feel like we
- 23:39Speaker 1: should do some research on what like the definitions are
- 23:42Speaker 1: of an inverted yeah, because I feel like we get
- 23:44Speaker 1: energy from being alone, which makes you introverted.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Or you mean like I being alone is what would
- 23:51Speaker 2: like make me happy? Yeah, and then an extroverts kind
- 23:54Speaker 2: of like being alone is like a lot the worst
- 23:57Speaker 2: thing ever, funny thing, Right. So I watched the Noahi
- 24:00Speaker 2: documentary and he talks about how he said I constantly
- 24:04Speaker 2: need people's approval, and he said that when I'm alone,
- 24:09Speaker 2: there's no one to approve of me, and he said,
- 24:12Speaker 2: like it's very difficult.
- 24:15Speaker 3: And as he was saying it, I was like, what
- 24:17Speaker 3: about when I'm alone?
- 24:18Speaker 2: And I was like, when I'm alone, I'm thriving, dude, Like,
- 24:22Speaker 2: I don't think at least I don't think I need
- 24:25Speaker 2: the approval of people.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I don't think, Yeah, well, I think is approval different
- 24:29Speaker 1: to like just energy from other people, Like because if
- 24:33Speaker 1: I go out to an event and I'm talking to
- 24:34Speaker 1: heaps of people, I'm like, I'm fucking social battery. But
- 24:38Speaker 1: like some people are like that's the best thing I have.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I feel so good. I got to meet five different
- 24:42Speaker 1: people in their lives something I feel motivated. I'd be
- 24:44Speaker 1: like I would though I would say it in a
- 24:48Speaker 1: nicer way. That's what I would say behind closed doors.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I think that's what makes us introverted, which is interesting.
- 24:55Speaker 1: But I do remember, like vividly. I think it also
- 24:57Speaker 1: comes from confidence, because when I was eight a nineteen twenty,
- 24:59Speaker 1: I was definitely more quiet, Yeah, and didn't have like
- 25:03Speaker 1: the same sort of confidence to express myself or hold
- 25:05Speaker 1: the conversations. Yeah. And I don't know why that was,
- 25:08Speaker 1: and it might just be an age thing. Yeah, And
- 25:09Speaker 1: I would hate to go back and see like it
- 25:11Speaker 1: would be so cool, But also I would no, I
- 25:13Speaker 1: would fucking hate it to go see what you are
- 25:16Speaker 1: like in a conversation when you're like nineteen. No, No,
- 25:18Speaker 1: i'd be so so hate that.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So influenceable, Yeah, easily influenceable, malleable. Anyone could say anything
- 25:27Speaker 2: and I believe it and I'd live by it, you
- 25:29Speaker 2: know what I mean. I've been seeing this guy that's
- 25:32Speaker 2: got a trend to go, and so does this guy
- 25:34Speaker 2: he's just moved to a new city. I think it's
- 25:36Speaker 2: like Nashville. He's American and he starts it off. And
- 25:40Speaker 2: this guy, like, in my opinion, he's adorable and it
- 25:46Speaker 2: makes me want to cry. He's probably our age or older,
- 25:49Speaker 2: and he goes like he'll crack open a drink and
- 25:51Speaker 2: then he'll be like day thirty seven of being an
- 25:54Speaker 2: introvert and going out and trying to make new friends
- 25:57Speaker 2: in this city because like he just moved there for work,
- 26:00Speaker 2: no friends, and he'll talk about like he'll film and
- 26:03Speaker 2: then he'll do a voiceover because he films is outing
- 26:06Speaker 2: and he'll either be like, yeah, today it was a
- 26:08Speaker 2: tough one, like one of them was Saint Patti's day,
- 26:10Speaker 2: and he just like goes to a super busy bar
- 26:14Speaker 2: and he's like, I'm gonna go do this. I'm gonna
- 26:15Speaker 2: go watch said game at this bar. I'm gonna aim
- 26:18Speaker 2: to like get to halftime, and if I'm alright at halftime,
- 26:21Speaker 2: I'll try and watch the full game. And he goes
- 26:23Speaker 2: and then he's like at the bar and there's just
- 26:26Speaker 2: people on people around him, and you can tell he's
- 26:27Speaker 2: so un comfortable, and his voice is like cracking when
- 26:30Speaker 2: he's rewatching it and doing the voiceover, and then the
- 26:33Speaker 2: next cut will be like only lasted a minute and
- 26:35Speaker 2: I left, and I'm like, oh no, but I'd be
- 26:39Speaker 2: the same, Like imagine going on like burly path on
- 26:42Speaker 2: your own I'll turn around.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You couldn't pay me, I wouldn't go in. You genuinely
- 26:47Speaker 1: couldn't pay me.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I hope no one's saying to this guy like, you're
- 26:51Speaker 2: an introvert and need to be more extroverted because if
- 26:53Speaker 2: he if he lives a happy introverted life, all the
- 26:56Speaker 2: power to him.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Well, I think you need both to be good.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I'm gonna message you may. I want to start zoom
- 27:00Speaker 2: calling this guy and being like you got.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Me, You've gotten me, You're awkward to man, And then
- 27:05Speaker 1: he'll be like you're like, oh do you want to
- 27:07Speaker 1: hang out? Like, oh no, I just want to be
- 27:08Speaker 1: like living Australian. When you're talking about I just want
- 27:11Speaker 1: to be alone, you don't bother me, like I mean,
- 27:14Speaker 1: disappoint you. I don't want to hang out introverts anonymous club.
- 27:19Speaker 2: But when but we're going and talking about experiences of
- 27:22Speaker 2: being alone and how good it is to promote being
- 27:24Speaker 2: alone anonymous.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Isn't that what they call like fucking yeah, alcoholic is anonymous?
- 27:30Speaker 1: A is alcohol is anonymous. We're trying to bring being
- 27:33Speaker 1: introverts up? Yeah yeah, yeah, no, that what I'm saying.
- 27:35Speaker 2: It's talking about how good the experience was and you
- 27:37Speaker 2: get some extroverts in there and be like, you guys
- 27:39Speaker 2: need to chill the funk out.
- 27:40Speaker 1: You guys need to listen to how good this is.
- 27:42Speaker 1: You need to chill the fun out. But it's funny
- 27:45Speaker 1: too because we're both dating extroverts go through. That's a
- 27:49Speaker 1: good point.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Like I would say Beth is extroverted, but she also
- 27:51Speaker 2: is quite shy.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I would say she's quite shy.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Like on a night out, would Cassie go up and
- 27:55Speaker 2: be the one to strike up a conversations that's wouldn't Yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 2: that's the same as.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Me when we're and she starts talking to.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Me. If Beth started striking up a conversation with a
- 28:06Speaker 2: new person, that's when I need to be drunk and
- 28:08Speaker 2: I'm there a new person.
- 28:11Speaker 3: You wouldn't catch me in that conversation unless she brings.
- 28:13Speaker 1: But then I also want to eat my words because
- 28:15Speaker 1: I went to a festival and Cassie started a conversation
- 28:17Speaker 1: with a girl who had a boyfriend, and then we
- 28:20Speaker 1: hang out with him all that night and at a
- 28:21Speaker 1: great time. Yea, sometimes it's good. Yeah, yeah, I agreed,
- 28:24Speaker 1: But still if it never happened to me, I wouldn't mind.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Here's the thing.
- 28:28Speaker 2: It changed your life for the better. Yeah, but your
- 28:31Speaker 2: life wasn't worse before it.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I don't know how it makes that one. I don't
- 28:34Speaker 1: know how to make that work. Like you would have
- 28:35Speaker 1: been just as happy right now. Yeah, that's that experience.
- 28:38Speaker 1: But it was a good experience. So where do we live?
- 28:41Speaker 1: Any introverts out there? Bad? We're here with you. Yeah yeah?
- 28:44Speaker 1: Comment comment below introverts with the podcast.
- 28:55Speaker 3: I have an announcement to make.
- 28:58Speaker 1: What is it?
- 28:59Speaker 2: I am officially pause for silence dramatic effect.
- 29:06Speaker 1: A Marcher, Babe, man, I am so glad you said that,
- 29:09Speaker 1: because I am too. I absolutely love Marcher. It's like
- 29:14Speaker 1: a reward. Couldn't agree more. My friend could not agree more.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Throughout the day, I do little tasks and I'm like,
- 29:23Speaker 3: you know what, I deserve?
- 29:24Speaker 1: A Marcher. Same and my go to at the moment, Jake,
- 29:28Speaker 1: are these perfect head vanilla march to late cans? Cans?
- 29:33Speaker 1: Not only do they taste amazing, but it's also a
- 29:35Speaker 1: different source of caffeine to coffee. Mate, That's true.
- 29:38Speaker 2: And they're so handy, like it's just a cafe quality
- 29:43Speaker 2: Marcher in a can in your.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Hand, mate, I am obsessed, and I know the baddies listening.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I're gonna be looking for a sign to get a
- 29:51Speaker 1: marcher today. Here it is so hey, you've heard it here. First,
- 29:57Speaker 1: don't walk, but run to Cole's. Funnily enough, Jake. Next
- 30:02Speaker 1: up is ig Question of the Week, with the question
- 30:05Speaker 1: being dumbest thing your ex has drunkenly texted or called
- 30:09Speaker 1: when we were drinkers. Do you remember any dumb things
- 30:13Speaker 1: you Yeah, yeah, actually I really do, and it was to
- 30:15Speaker 1: my dad. I've told this story before. I loved to
- 30:19Speaker 1: hear it. I wonder if I have any drunk messages
- 30:22Speaker 1: to X, though only you will know drunk messages to
- 30:29Speaker 1: just quickly recap what you did. Your dad can't leave
- 30:32Speaker 1: some new listeners.
- 30:33Speaker 2: New Year's Eve eighteen twenty nineteen, one of those years
- 30:38Speaker 2: we pre drink at my house, my dad's house actually,
- 30:42Speaker 2: and my dad was out for most of the day
- 30:46Speaker 2: and we were just like at his house drinking, like
- 30:48Speaker 2: we're at his pool.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And then I think we had a slipping slot and like.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Too fair, I think we made a max.
- 30:55Speaker 1: We made No, this is what fucked you up. We
- 30:56Speaker 1: made punch. Yeah, this is what fucked me up.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And this is what actually we're talking about me, this
- 31:03Speaker 2: is what fucked everyone. Right, So we all go. So
- 31:06Speaker 2: we most of us actually have girlfriends at the time,
- 31:08Speaker 2: a few single guys. But then we all we have
- 31:10Speaker 2: a book a table booked at a at a restaurant
- 31:12Speaker 2: slash bar club, right, And so we have this table
- 31:16Speaker 2: booked and all the boys in our group come to
- 31:19Speaker 2: my place to pre drink. And someone had the brilliant
- 31:23Speaker 2: idea that's like, let's all buy a seven hundred and
- 31:25Speaker 2: fifty mili bottle of straight alcohol, and each one of
- 31:28Speaker 2: us has our own bottle, and we only drink that
- 31:30Speaker 2: because if we just stay on the same alcohol all night,
- 31:32Speaker 2: we'll be fine, right, And.
- 31:34Speaker 1: So what we do is we all get our own
- 31:35Speaker 1: bottle as straight.
- 31:36Speaker 2: I use vodka, and I have vodka lime and sodas
- 31:39Speaker 2: or whatever, just so I can have at least some
- 31:40Speaker 2: fucking water in me, and I just it fucking nagget right. AnyWho,
- 31:48Speaker 2: We end up getting to the restaurant. We know the
- 31:50Speaker 2: guy that's like the manager owner of it, and he
- 31:52Speaker 2: lets us in and I don't know, I don't really
- 31:54Speaker 2: remember at what point any of these messages happen, but
- 31:57Speaker 2: I have a message.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Chain with my dad.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I could probably go find it if I go phone
- 32:00Speaker 2: off back where Dad's like are you at restaurant? Will
- 32:05Speaker 2: you be back tomorrow to clean up mess or something
- 32:07Speaker 2: like that, And I'm like, oh, yeah, sorry, Ryan, like I'll.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Be there tomorrow blah blah blah blah blah.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And then I don't remember anything. I don't even remember
- 32:14Speaker 2: texting that. And then I go there the next day.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I don't live there at the time. I go there
- 32:20Speaker 2: the next day and I walk in and my stepmum's
- 32:22Speaker 2: shaking ahead at me, and my.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Dad's looking at me, and he's like, what happened yesterday?
- 32:27Speaker 1: And I was like, what do you mean?
- 32:27Speaker 2: He was like, you texted me saying like sorry, Ryan,
- 32:31Speaker 2: my dad's names Brett.
- 32:37Speaker 1: That's pretty day, man, to make you feel a little
- 32:44Speaker 1: bit better, Like I had a doozy that night, mate,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I don't remember anyone being man. I don't remember I remember.
- 32:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:51Speaker 2: This is crazy, but like there's these things we call
- 32:54Speaker 2: them nangs here, but it's the freaking whipped cream canases
- 32:58Speaker 2: that balloons and they like breathe in And remember you
- 33:01Speaker 2: were on.
- 33:02Speaker 1: The trampoline by yourself. You're on the trampoline by yourself,
- 33:06Speaker 1: and you see Jake g On fucking ham On these
- 33:09Speaker 1: names like, no, you want to know what I did?
- 33:10Speaker 2: Know?
- 33:11Speaker 1: He kept just blowing it up and down. So I
- 33:14Speaker 1: did do one, yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And then I and then obviously it like focks me up,
- 33:19Speaker 2: but then it goes away. Yeah, but I was so
- 33:22Speaker 2: drunk that I just see the balloon and I start
- 33:24Speaker 2: blowing it up and then I'm breathing in and breathing
- 33:25Speaker 2: out and breathing it out, thinking I'm doing another one.
- 33:28Speaker 2: And I was just down there for who knows how
- 33:30Speaker 2: long doing that, and then someone comes down and starts.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I think we said, should we go check on Ja?
- 33:34Speaker 1: He's been down there a while and we thought you
- 33:36Speaker 1: were just pumping name. That's one of the reasons I
- 33:41Speaker 1: stopped drinking. I can't control myself. But anyway, things, what
- 33:47Speaker 1: is it dumbest thing your exit drunkenly texted or card?
- 33:51Speaker 1: I'll go first, Sorry for I'm blocking you. I'm blocking
- 33:54Speaker 1: you now. That's the point, just to like know that
- 34:00Speaker 1: they're still there.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I like a little bit of live in the head.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Okay, what's the dumbest thing your ex has drunkenly called
- 34:09Speaker 2: or texted a fake message from his Apple Watch saying
- 34:13Speaker 2: that he had a fall. Wait what so I assume
- 34:18Speaker 2: what happened was she gets a message being like like, James.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Has fallen and needs help.
- 34:25Speaker 2: But it was a text message and it made it
- 34:26Speaker 2: look and he made it look like it came from
- 34:28Speaker 2: his Apple Watch. But he was just saying that just
- 34:31Speaker 2: to kind of slide back in.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Oh shit, people getting techy with a day. But also
- 34:35Speaker 1: he went wrong in a sense of fall makes him
- 34:38Speaker 1: sound like he's eighty fell over, Like I fell over.
- 34:43Speaker 1: That's a good point, like, at what age do you.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Say to someone like, because like if I fell over
- 34:49Speaker 2: and grazed my knee, Yeah, I fell over, and what
- 34:52Speaker 2: happened to be like I was doing something, I fell over,
- 34:54Speaker 2: it graes my knee and I tripped whatever. At what
- 34:57Speaker 2: age does it transfer from I fell over to I've
- 35:00Speaker 2: had a fall, And then everyone's kind of like and
- 35:02Speaker 2: you're at that age of everyone.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Goes oh fall, like late sixties, Like, let's be real.
- 35:09Speaker 1: It's when like when you fall over in like hospital,
- 35:11Speaker 1: Let's be real. He's in the equation if my dad
- 35:15Speaker 1: fell over and hurt himself, he's fifty two, and I
- 35:17Speaker 1: would say Dad's had a fall. True, you know what
- 35:20Speaker 1: I mean? Would would you? Would you say about your parents?
- 35:23Speaker 1: I probably would have on the phone to me say
- 35:26Speaker 1: older than you. Then it's a good point because let's
- 35:29Speaker 1: just say you have.
- 35:30Speaker 2: To call me, and we were planning to do like
- 35:31Speaker 2: a recording, like we're going to record an ad virtually
- 35:34Speaker 2: or something like I got a postpone like Dad's had
- 35:36Speaker 2: a fall.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah, makes it sound more serious. Yeah, I fell over.
- 35:39Speaker 1: It means like it's his own faulties or either.
- 35:42Speaker 2: I imagine like falling over in a shower and you
- 35:45Speaker 2: have to go to hospital.
- 35:46Speaker 1: It's sad.
- 35:47Speaker 2: It's sad, but like also, I'm.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Glad there's no eighty year old dad. He's listening probably.
- 35:56Speaker 2: To be fair that don't be me one day, mate,
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'll be We're shuffling around, no problem.
- 36:00Speaker 1: And you can't text me because I'll be like sort
- 36:02Speaker 1: of dead. Sort it out. All this health and stuff,
- 36:08Speaker 1: like all the cotton and whatever. All the health is
- 36:11Speaker 1: getting way before me. You die on the toilet.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I okay, it's a great way to go. It's how
- 36:16Speaker 2: Elvis went great places. That's the worst place to go
- 36:19Speaker 2: on the toilets a place to go. So if I
- 36:22Speaker 2: was to die on a toilet, doing everyone a favor,
- 36:25Speaker 2: because when you die, you secrete.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I was doing something I love.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Well.
- 36:34Speaker 4: You do it so often when dogs start to die,
- 36:43Speaker 4: like they go to corners and dark places.
- 36:46Speaker 1: When when you start to die, everyone's going to be
- 36:50Speaker 1: like check the quick check.
- 36:55Speaker 3: No, it's not.
- 36:57Speaker 1: About the main bathroom.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Imagine if someone called you and they were like, where
- 37:03Speaker 3: is Jake.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Checked the toilet? It's probably dumbest thing your ex has
- 37:11Speaker 1: drunken laughing too, dumbest thing your ex is drunkenly texted
- 37:17Speaker 1: or card I wanted to kiss you so many times
- 37:20Speaker 1: tonight next day deleted it and pretending that they didn't
- 37:23Speaker 1: send it, he won't feeling embarrassed. She remember, I remember
- 37:32Speaker 1: it was the best feeling never happened to me, but
- 37:34Speaker 1: ages ago, when I was like nine, and that X
- 37:37Speaker 1: used to always drunkenly call me. But it made me
- 37:41Speaker 1: feel great. Yeah. I never did anything about it, but
- 37:43Speaker 1: like just knowing that she was still toxic thinking about
- 37:47Speaker 1: me gas because I was over it, and I'd like yeah,
- 37:51Speaker 1: every couple of months it would just be like a
- 37:53Speaker 1: phone called miscall from so and so, and I'd be
- 37:54Speaker 1: like fuck you hell still.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Haven't you?
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm still going bro.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I didn't think so I have. My first girlfriend has
- 38:06Speaker 2: a couple of times called me. She has once called
- 38:11Speaker 2: me while with.
- 38:15Speaker 1: New boyfriend saying this one whenever they had a fight.
- 38:17Speaker 1: They used to do it. What the I didn't pick up?
- 38:21Speaker 3: One time I was I got I went to a
- 38:24Speaker 3: friend's house and God, Hi.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and.
- 38:30Speaker 2: You said that yeah without with for lack of a
- 38:33Speaker 2: better term, I got high.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Sorry sorry Ryan, Oh God, please take me anywhot's take
- 38:43Speaker 1: any mate? Not God? How do you know God is
- 38:46Speaker 1: in the toilet? We don't exactly.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I'll get a phone call and I answer it and
- 38:54Speaker 2: I don't remember the numbers.
- 38:56Speaker 1: It's a random number.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I answer it. I'm like hello, woman's voice. I'm like
- 39:00Speaker 2: nineteen at time. I have a girlfriend now a new
- 39:02Speaker 2: girlfriend by the way, And I answer it, well, I can't.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I'm like what the hell? And I'm like tapping friend.
- 39:08Speaker 2: I'm like, I was just like too high, and even
- 39:11Speaker 2: just like comprehend.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I was like who is this? And give him the phone.
- 39:14Speaker 2: He's like hello, He's like who's this. He's like who
- 39:16Speaker 2: is this? And then she must have said a name,
- 39:18Speaker 2: and he's like fuck you. He hangs out, the sos
- 39:22Speaker 2: like don't have a call us number again, hangs up,
- 39:24Speaker 2: and he goes it was bubbah. And so then I,
- 39:28Speaker 2: being my high self, text my girlfriend.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I'm like, you need to come get me. I gotta
- 39:31Speaker 1: tell you something.
- 39:33Speaker 2: So I tell her she's living right, She's like living
- 39:37Speaker 2: at the situation, and I'm just kind of like cooking
- 39:38Speaker 2: out like all this shit.
- 39:39Speaker 3: We get back to my place, she goes, give me
- 39:42Speaker 3: a phone.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I'm calling that number. Oh shit.
- 39:43Speaker 2: She calls the number and they answer and her boyfriend's
- 39:49Speaker 2: voices in the background.
- 39:50Speaker 1: So I think they were prank calling me. Why would
- 39:53Speaker 1: you do that?
- 39:53Speaker 2: T X.
- 39:53Speaker 1: That's weird. That's because you see my feelings. Man, But
- 39:57Speaker 1: like what, like I assume the boyfriend knows. Maybe maybe
- 40:02Speaker 1: that's tough, tough one.
- 40:03Speaker 3: You're high too, because that was a that was a
- 40:06Speaker 3: rough one.
- 40:07Speaker 1: It was funny though, because like she calls and I'm like, okay, okay, okay, cool,
- 40:10Speaker 1: but don't say anything. I'm just say hang up straight away.
- 40:13Speaker 1: She has your number though. That's funny.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Okay, what's the dumbest thing your ex has drunkenly called
- 40:22Speaker 2: or texted blocked him? Everywhere. So he transferred me money
- 40:27Speaker 2: to get in contact.
- 40:28Speaker 1: I've heard this before. That's heinous. It better be like
- 40:32Speaker 1: over one hundred bucks.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, if he's going to do that, he better
- 40:36Speaker 2: be transferring, you know, less than one hundred dollars and
- 40:39Speaker 2: in the note being like, baby, please, baby.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Please imagine if it's like zero point zero one O,
- 40:49Speaker 1: my god, that's a fucking inscts. Hecky, the avenues people
- 40:53Speaker 1: would go away. What amount of money would make you reply? Oh?
- 40:58Speaker 2: So I get a random just like you know, such
- 41:02Speaker 2: and such as transferred you paid you into.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Single to your single I'm single. Yeah, it's obviously nothing. Okay.
- 41:08Speaker 1: So I'm single, and I get it.
- 41:12Speaker 2: It ends bad, okay, And I've blocked on everything and
- 41:15Speaker 2: they can't get a hold of me, and I get
- 41:18Speaker 2: like a bit I want to say hm hm, So
- 41:26Speaker 2: I need to be sent probably like five hundred with
- 41:31Speaker 2: the note being like, I'm pregnant, oh.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Shit, just to get me to reply, oh shit, your
- 41:40Speaker 1: toxic K five hundred dollars to reply you're pregnant? Next girlfriend,
- 41:44Speaker 1: is it yours or not? A good question? Is that
- 41:46Speaker 1: what you were.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Clearly it is mine because she's willing to put that
- 41:49Speaker 2: laid down a fucking.
- 41:52Speaker 1: It to made nothing. I would just say no, how
- 41:54Speaker 1: much for you couldn't take an a hundred bucks, couldn't
- 41:58Speaker 1: take anyould return the money one hundred bucks mm, and
- 42:03Speaker 1: the note is I miss you one hundred bucks, and
- 42:06Speaker 1: the notes I missed. I would send it back when
- 42:08Speaker 1: I won. I'm like, okay, she sends back, she doubles it.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Next time, she sends two hundred, and she says I
- 42:16Speaker 2: really miss you, winky face.
- 42:22Speaker 1: I would be like, I really don't miss you, cry face.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Oh okay, four hundred okay, is this like paying for sex?
- 42:33Speaker 1: He's paying me a fuck up? Maybe? I mean maybe
- 42:39Speaker 1: maybe four hundred. And the messages if you want it,
- 42:43Speaker 1: it's yours. That's kind of like smooth, but to be fair,
- 42:51Speaker 1: is yours. I'm like that can't turn me on a bit.
- 42:59Speaker 1: If I did, i'd have to return the money. But
- 43:01Speaker 1: I couldn't take something like if I actually want the funk,
- 43:02Speaker 1: I couldn't take four hund dollars and then sex you
- 43:04Speaker 1: weren't that, Yeah, I'd like I'd finish having to be
- 43:10Speaker 1: like that was just an deposit weather always fucking hell,
- 43:13Speaker 1: all right, dumbest thing your exits drunkenly, texted or cold.
- 43:16Speaker 1: If you're going to break up with me, can you
- 43:18Speaker 1: give me like two weeks notice?
- 43:19Speaker 3: Oh my god, I.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I mean that's so funny. We think dumb. I felt
- 43:26Speaker 1: that that's valid. Give me two weeks to prepare, two
- 43:29Speaker 1: weeks to just enjoy this what it is.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Okay, so like we can. Yeah, So if you're going
- 43:35Speaker 2: to break up with me, I feel like if you
- 43:37Speaker 2: sense it coming, yeah, you can be like, look, if
- 43:39Speaker 2: you're gonna bak up me, I just want like two
- 43:40Speaker 2: weeks notice because.
- 43:42Speaker 1: It's kind of an unfairness sense of the person who's
- 43:44Speaker 1: doing the breaking up is already mentally checking out two
- 43:47Speaker 1: weeks prior.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah, like, let me mentally check out with you and
- 43:50Speaker 2: then we come to an agreement in two weeks time.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Its like give him like in two weeks it
- 43:56Speaker 1: could or couldn't happen. Yeah, I just want to let
- 43:58Speaker 1: you know.
- 43:59Speaker 2: It's almost like it's a contracted thing where it's like
- 44:01Speaker 2: you can break up with me, but you need to
- 44:03Speaker 2: give me four weeks notice before you're out of the contract.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 2: And that's and also I ain't giving you know what's
- 44:08Speaker 2: it called when you put write.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Someone down as like a on.
- 44:11Speaker 2: A beneficiary, not on a resume, and reference a reference
- 44:15Speaker 2: like I ain't going to be a reference to a
- 44:17Speaker 2: new boyfriend that.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Within that four weeks. By the way, Honestly, contracts, like
- 44:22Speaker 1: who the fucking invented contracts? This piece of paper makes
- 44:25Speaker 1: me contractly obliged by law to do something for you.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Also like a human fleas should blow like if you.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Breach a contract, right, Like contracts had to be invented
- 44:38Speaker 2: so someone else could profit, because if I breach a contract,
- 44:43Speaker 2: I'm doing something illegal. If I'm a police officer and
- 44:48Speaker 2: someone's like, you need to go arrest this person because
- 44:50Speaker 2: they breach their contract, I mean like I'd be like,
- 44:51Speaker 2: you mean, they've reached the piece of paper they.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Signed, like row up.
- 44:55Speaker 3: But also we sound dumb, yeah exactly, Someone much smarter
- 44:59Speaker 3: than us invented.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly, I always watch if I watch a show
- 45:04Speaker 1: that's based like say Game of Thrones or Lord of
- 45:07Speaker 1: the Rings.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Yeah, like when in Lord of the Rings no no sorry,
- 45:09Speaker 2: in the Hobbit, when they go and recruit Frodo not
- 45:14Speaker 2: Frodo Bilbo whoever he soun fucking the Dwarf has this
- 45:19Speaker 2: contract and I'm like, how's that legally binding?
- 45:22Speaker 1: It's a fantasy one boyology comes out the night, all right,
- 45:26Speaker 1: it's my last one. What's the dumbest thing your ex?
- 45:30Speaker 2: You're Yeah, what's the numbest thing your ex has drunkenly
- 45:32Speaker 2: called or texted?
- 45:34Speaker 3: I'm preparing to be the right man for you. He's
- 45:37Speaker 3: three years into a relationship with another girl.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Damn. I saw another one that was about like he
- 45:43Speaker 1: was with another girl for like a couple of years, Like,
- 45:46Speaker 1: how are you doing that? Yeah?
- 45:48Speaker 2: Those are the type of people that just need to
- 45:50Speaker 2: be with someone, all right, Jake.
- 45:52Speaker 1: For this one, a baddie actually sent in all of
- 45:56Speaker 1: her ex's text messages from a night out in the chain.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Oh my god, like a screenshot.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Yeah, the text change. So and this guy has gone
- 46:07Speaker 1: on a tangent and I reckon this will bring back
- 46:09Speaker 1: some reminiscence of some head noise if you've ever texted
- 46:12Speaker 1: your X when you're drunk. Okay, So it started with
- 46:14Speaker 1: these all had no responses, by the way, so she
- 46:16Speaker 1: didn't replied any no no, no, no, no. Okay. That's embarrassing
- 46:19Speaker 1: for him. Hey, two wives, how's you view photo? Didn't
- 46:26Speaker 1: get to see the photo. Let me know if it's
- 46:29Speaker 1: too large in scale. Oh, also, why do your mate
- 46:34Speaker 1: block me? Your ass is so fat? I know you
- 46:40Speaker 1: feel bad because rejected you. This is all how he
- 46:43Speaker 1: said it. But it's okay. You were hot, but either
- 46:47Speaker 1: maybe I was too big or attracted to a bit
- 46:50Speaker 1: too much to be or to be with your flat
- 46:53Speaker 1: mate accidentally walked in with her on a thong once
- 46:57Speaker 1: and kind of sparred from there. We cool, though. I
- 47:01Speaker 1: hope your PT stuff is still okay. This guy like went.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Through the seven stages of fucking like grief in a
- 47:11Speaker 2: message fucking chain.
- 47:13Speaker 1: And she said, full context, we went on four dates
- 47:15Speaker 1: and it was two years ago. Far Yeah, I guess.
- 47:23Speaker 1: I guess the takeaway is we shouldn't drink time four comments.
- 47:33Speaker 1: If you want to get a comment read, simply comment
- 47:35Speaker 1: on the episode you are listening to. I've got episode seventeen,
- 47:38Speaker 1: spicy vanilla latte from liv Clark. What a name. Shout
- 47:43Speaker 1: out to you, She said, you guys give me hope
- 47:45Speaker 1: that there's still good men out there. Love your work.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Look, oh yeah, there is good men out there somewhere,
- 47:51Speaker 3: thanks Liv.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I got episode sixteen and it was a raw dog
