- Najah: How come people always want to tell somebody? That's too soon. Too soon to move on. Too soon to date. Too soon to start over. Too soon to be happy. According to who? because nobody gets to clock my timeline. Accept me. See, when I was laying in the hospital bed wondering if I was gonna make it, I wasn't thinking. wish I would have waited longer to be happy. I realized I had already waited too long. Too long to choose myself. Too long to pursue peace. Too long to experience joy. So now, when something feels right for my life, I'm not adding extra time. just because other people are uncomfortable with it. People be saying you don't even know them. Baby, I've known some people for 20 years. and still had to stop one day and ask myself. Who the hell are you? And while we're at it, why the hell was I dealing with you? See, time doesn't automatically equal really knowing somebody. So don't tell me. I can't know if somebody is right for me. because it hasn't been long enough. You don't know how much time I have left. And neither do I. So why would I spend it living by somebody else's schedule? If waiting is what feels right for you. Do that. If moving slower brings you peace, I respect that. But don't tell me what's too soon for my journey. If I'm moving too fast for you, please get out of my way, please. Because life ain't slowing down for nobody. And neither am I.
