- 0:00Speaker 1: He's got some other movies that are fucking wild as
- 0:02Speaker 1: hell and like, I don't even know how to describe it.
- 0:06Speaker 1: He's got this one movie that I watched kind of
- 0:08Speaker 1: more recently called it's called like mad Love in English.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I think the French name for it is like a
- 0:14Speaker 1: little more brock. He's got like a weird history because
- 0:17Speaker 1: he's a Polish filmmaker. But his early movies he was
- 0:21Speaker 1: kind of like a prodigy, like he got picked up
- 0:24Speaker 1: really fast from film school and stuff when he was
- 0:26Speaker 1: going there, and he made his first movie and it's
- 0:29Speaker 1: fucking wild as hell, and the Polish government were like,
- 0:33Speaker 1: all right, Bud, you're kicked out of fucking Poland for that.
- 0:36Speaker 1: So they like they kicked him out of the country.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And then I think it was after his first three
- 0:42Speaker 1: movies that he made, They're like, you know, we've seen
- 0:44Speaker 1: enough of your shit, get out of here. So he
- 0:47Speaker 1: went to France and he made a drama and the
- 0:49Speaker 1: drama made a bunch of money, and Poland was like,
- 0:52Speaker 1: all right, come back, we'll give you all the money
- 0:55Speaker 1: you want to make a movie for Poland, you know,
- 0:57Speaker 1: to like help the economy or whatever. And so basically
- 1:00Speaker 1: the movie he was making. They thought it was like
- 1:03Speaker 1: too critical of the Polish government, like yeah, so they
- 1:10Speaker 1: shut it down when it was like ninety percent done,
- 1:13Speaker 1: and then like ten years later it got finished, but
- 1:16Speaker 1: it's still like an incomplete movie. It's like this crazy
- 1:18Speaker 1: sci fi movie. But anyway, he went back to France
- 1:22Speaker 1: and made some movies, and this movie that I watched recently,
- 1:25Speaker 1: it's like a crime It's very almost like lynching in
- 1:30Speaker 1: a way, because it's like almost a straightforward crime movie,
- 1:33Speaker 1: but the way everyone's acting is like they're in a
- 1:36Speaker 1: fucking play. They're all just like screaming and running around
- 1:38Speaker 1: the whole time and like talking fast as fuck, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: there's just all sorts of weird shit that goes on.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's like there is a coherent story there, but it's
- 1:48Speaker 1: like almost easily lost to just like all this other
- 1:52Speaker 1: wild shit that's going on. And it's one of the
- 1:56Speaker 1: I don't know, it's not like one of the craziest
- 1:59Speaker 1: or like most irving movies or anything like that that
- 2:01Speaker 1: I've seen, but it's one of the weirder ones for sure,
- 2:05Speaker 1: And I just all of his movies are kind of
- 2:07Speaker 1: like that. There's his first movie that he made there's
- 2:12Speaker 1: a live birth in the movie, like a real fucking
- 2:15Speaker 1: baby gets born and you see it really yeah, And
- 2:19Speaker 1: it threw me off so bad because, like I didn't
- 2:22Speaker 1: know anything about it going in. I'd kind of heard
- 2:24Speaker 1: that it was about his uh, his dad's experience growing
- 2:27Speaker 1: up in Poland during World War Two, so it's about
- 2:30Speaker 1: like occupied Poland. So I was thinking, like, it's gonna
- 2:33Speaker 1: be kind of fucked up, but you know, we'll see
- 2:35Speaker 1: what's what goes on, and out of nowhere there's just
- 2:39Speaker 1: a real birth, like up close, and I was just like.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Wait, yeah, what the fuck am I looking at here?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, He's definitely like does some shit like that
- 2:51Speaker 1: in his movies where it's just kind of like, all right,
- 2:53Speaker 1: this guy is not afraid to do what's at what's
- 2:58Speaker 1: going to get his movies like shut down basically. And
- 3:02Speaker 1: other than that, though, I mean, there is a lot
- 3:04Speaker 1: of like weird shit inness movies, but I feel like
- 3:08Speaker 1: it's nothing that crazy, you know what I mean. Like
- 3:13Speaker 1: I don't know how to describe it, but like I
- 3:17Speaker 1: always see like or for a while, I used to
- 3:20Speaker 1: see Possession on a lot of people's like Disturbing Movies lists,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you know, and like, I think that movie's pretty fucked
- 3:27Speaker 1: up and has some like really like intense imagery in it,
- 3:31Speaker 1: but like as far as being like a disturbing movie,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if I would like
- 3:36Speaker 1: really say that about it.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I got to check that out because I usually watch
- 3:41Speaker 2: a lot of wild shit.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it seemed like something like this. It's a wild one.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, it's one of my favorites, but it's
- 3:54Speaker 1: it's kind of like all of it. When you see it,
- 3:56Speaker 1: I feel like it feels like almost to my sometimes,
- 4:00Speaker 1: like with the acting, I feel like it really works
- 4:02Speaker 1: in that one, But then when you watch some of
- 4:05Speaker 1: his other movies, it's like, oh damn, like everyone acts
- 4:08Speaker 1: that way, and all of his movies at least the
- 4:10Speaker 1: ones that I've seen where they're always just like going
- 4:13Speaker 1: at a ten. Yeah, as far as intensity, it has
- 4:16Speaker 1: Sam Neil in it too, so nice. Yeah, Yeah, young
- 4:19Speaker 1: Sam Neil's in that. It's pretty it's pretty sick.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah. I gotta check those out sometimes. Yeah, yeah, I'm
- 4:27Speaker 2: gonna look up the Possession.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely Possessions probably that's the one that I think
- 4:32Speaker 1: is like the gateway to his movies. I would say, you.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Know what I watched recently now that you bring up
- 4:39Speaker 2: like these type of movies was a movie from nineteen
- 4:42Speaker 2: eighty one called Roar. Okay, have ever seen that?
- 4:46Speaker 1: No?
- 4:46Speaker 2: So apparently this filmmaker fucking I don't know if it
- 4:49Speaker 2: was the guy like he produced The Exorcist, ors he
- 4:52Speaker 2: worked on the Exorcists or whatever, Okay, and a studio
- 4:56Speaker 2: gave him basically a blank check to shoot whatever you want,
- 4:59Speaker 2: fuck yeah movie, and he did this movie called Roar
- 5:03Speaker 2: about like all these lions and shit, but they used
- 5:06Speaker 2: real lions. There's like fucking thirty lions that this guy
- 5:10Speaker 2: is like hanging around, and production like a bunch of
- 5:13Speaker 2: people on production got like bit and tore up from guys,
- 5:17Speaker 2: and like a bunch of people quit and they hired
- 5:20Speaker 2: a bunch of more people. And he like even the
- 5:24Speaker 2: actors that was in it, they were all like they
- 5:28Speaker 2: had to keep acting even if like the lions or
- 5:30Speaker 2: the tigers or shit was like tackling them and you
- 5:33Speaker 2: could see them struggling in the movie during the scenes.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd be shipping my fucking pants.
- 5:39Speaker 2: The whole movie was like a huge anxiety attack because like,
- 5:44Speaker 2: you just can't believe that they're doing this shit with
- 5:47Speaker 2: real lions, yeah, film, and it's just scary because it's
- 5:51Speaker 2: not like one, two, three, four or five, not even
- 5:54Speaker 2: six lines. Bro, It's like a whole gang of them,
- 5:57Speaker 2: like twenty fucking lions and tigers, and everyone's just around
- 6:02Speaker 2: in this little village that this guy like basically build
- 6:06Speaker 2: somewhere in California. They took all these lions out of
- 6:10Speaker 2: their habitats to come and like hang out with them.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I think he might have raised some of them too,
- 6:18Speaker 2: at this like remote location location that kind of looked
- 6:21Speaker 2: like the jungle somewhere.
- 6:23Speaker 1: That's nuts, bro.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It's it's it's called Roar from.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna have one. I want to watch it because
- 6:32Speaker 1: that sounds like a fucking grizzly Man type of situation
- 6:35Speaker 1: where it's like, dude, someone's gonna die. Dude.
- 6:37Speaker 2: There's literally a like water having like dialogue with each other.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Like two people keep looking over their shoulder looking over
- 6:45Speaker 2: their shoulder during the scene, and then one lion just
- 6:49Speaker 2: fucking runs up and tackles him, and he's just like, oh,
- 6:53Speaker 2: they're just playing blah blah blah whatever. So the director
- 6:57Speaker 2: basically instructed them like if this happens, keep going with
- 7:01Speaker 2: the scene.
- 7:02Speaker 1: No, dude, I would quit the movie.
- 7:05Speaker 2: And a bunch of people did. I think the DP
- 7:09Speaker 2: actually got like mold like and like he actually had
- 7:13Speaker 2: an injury for like months, because yeah, a bunch of
- 7:18Speaker 2: people got hurt on it, like it was crazy. I
- 7:21Speaker 2: think it might have been the movie that basically started
- 7:24Speaker 2: like all the rules for filming.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Like we need to get some animal rights ship done there.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I don't think they had. They didn't have like fucking
- 7:33Speaker 2: like rescue teams and ship like that. Just the case
- 7:36Speaker 2: ship was going. They were just like, Noah, we're gonna
- 7:39Speaker 2: trust you.
- 7:40Speaker 1: That's fucking just get the lions. Let them lose. See
- 7:46Speaker 1: what happens. You know what can you?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Literally they're sitting down inside one of the inside the
- 7:52Speaker 2: little house that they're shooting at. Yeah, and there's a
- 7:56Speaker 2: ganga lions surrounding them inside this tight space.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Oh god, there's a film there by the way. I
- 8:04Speaker 1: hate that. That's like my worst fucking nightmare.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I was looking at my watch. My heart rate was like, fucking.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Max, You're like, I need a fucking pause this ship
- 8:15Speaker 1: for a second. Go take a walk, dude. That's like,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I mean, legit. One of my worst fears. Like anytime
- 8:23Speaker 1: I've ever been out in the mountains like Colorado or
- 8:27Speaker 1: Oregon or any of those places where there's like some
- 8:30Speaker 1: suspicious wildlife around, I'm like, Bud, if I got to
- 8:34Speaker 1: fight a fucking tiger or something right now, or a
- 8:36Speaker 1: fucking mountain lion, I like, I just want to have
- 8:39Speaker 1: a strategy ready, and I want to let everybody know,
- 8:42Speaker 1: like we gotta beat the fuck this mountain dude.
- 8:45Speaker 2: The balls on a guy, the least actor in this
- 8:49Speaker 2: movie was ridiculous because there was legitimately you've seen where
- 8:54Speaker 2: the lions were fighting outside because they had like a
- 8:56Speaker 2: dead zebra there that they were eating. And this guy
- 9:00Speaker 2: comes running out like trying to stop him from fighting,
- 9:04Speaker 2: and the lion like goes to attack him, and he's
- 9:06Speaker 2: just like like trying to scare the line attacking him,
- 9:11Speaker 2: and bro like he jumps in the middle of two
- 9:14Speaker 2: lions like fighting.
- 9:16Speaker 1: What that could have been the end of his life? Nuts, Yeah,
- 9:22Speaker 1: that could have been his last moment, just running up
- 9:24Speaker 1: to that line and just.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Straight like trying to check him like, yoh my.
- 9:29Speaker 1: God, I'm the king of the fucking jungle. Bit what
- 9:33Speaker 1: are you talking about? You're just some pussy guy like
- 9:36Speaker 1: get out of here, that I thought I was gonna
- 9:40Speaker 1: have to fucking fight at Deer one time, and that
- 9:43Speaker 1: was scary, dude,
