- 0:16Charles: Happy birthday Mr.
- 0:20Charles: Vibe Check.
- 0:22Charles: I just gendered our show.
- 0:24Nora: Yeah you did.
- 0:26Charles: Happy birthday to you.
- 0:35Charles: That was a long one.
- 0:38Charles: Happy birthday!
- 0:41Charles: (cheering)
- 0:45Charles: Yeah!
- 0:47Charles: We're ready!
- 0:48Charles: We're ready to do this thing!
- 0:50Charles: I am so ready for this show.
- 0:52Charles: Let's roll that freaking intro.
- 1:43Charles: What the fuck is up gamers?
- 1:46Charles: (laughing)
- 1:48Charles: It's Wednesday,
- 1:49Charles: September 23rd,
- 1:51Charles: 2026.
- 1:53Charles: And it is,
- 1:53Charles: in fact,
- 1:54Charles: the one year anniversary of this show.
- 1:59Charles: So this hat is for you.
- 2:01Charles: Here we go.
- 2:02Charles: Here we go.
- 2:04Charles: There we go.
- 2:06Charles: That's for you.
- 2:07Charles: Happy birthday to you at home.
- 2:10Charles: I am your humblest of hosts,
- 2:12Charles: Charles Joseph Kelly.
- 2:16Nora: And I'm Nora.
- 2:17Charles: Hi, Nora.
- 2:18Nora: Hi.
- 2:19Charles: Hello.
- 2:20Charles: How are you?
- 2:21Nora: I'm feeling much better than last week.
- 2:22Nora: Last week,
- 2:23Nora: the dogs completely took me out
- 2:26Nora: and I got so grumpy that I decided it was best
- 2:29Nora: that I not say things on the internet.
- 2:32Charles: Yeah.
- 2:33Charles: I thought it was really funny.
- 2:34Charles: You were like, "I'm so mad.
- 2:36Charles: The dogs made me so mad that I couldn't do this show."
- 2:40Nora: They made me really, really mad.
- 2:42Nora: I was so mad.
- 2:43Nora: Like, it was bad.
- 2:46Charles: I don't think I've ever been that upset at an animal
- 2:51Charles: I couldn't do my weekly live show.
- 2:54Nora: It wasn't necessarily just the animal.
- 2:56Nora: It was just everything combined,
- 2:58Nora: you know?
- 3:00Charles: And the pets were the last straw.
- 3:02Nora: It was the last straw,
- 3:03Nora: and it was 12.30 during the day,
- 3:07Nora: and it was the end of my day.
- 3:08Nora: I hit the end of my day.
- 3:09Charles: I judge you for not coming last week.
- 3:11Nora: That's fine.
- 3:12Mandy: Yeah, I didn't know that we could call out
- 3:14Mandy: when we just weren't feeling like it.
- 3:17Mandy: I didn't know that was an option.
- 3:19Nora: You don't wanna hear me say stuff sometimes
- 3:22Nora: when I'm that mad.
- 3:24Nora: It was just preferable that I not say things
- 3:26Nora: that are recorded permanently on the internet.
- 3:28Charles: Yeah,
- 3:29Charles: you missed a good show.
- 3:30Charles: Did you watch it?
- 3:31Nora: No,
- 3:31Nora: I was so mad.
- 3:33Nora: (laughing)
- 3:33Nora: I didn't even do that.
- 3:34Mandy: Next time Nora can't make it to the show,
- 3:37Mandy: we're just gonna completely make it like,
- 3:39Mandy: just destroy Nora.
- 3:41Chris: Double penalty for Nora,
- 3:43Chris: like,
- 3:44Chris: not only did she not feel like showing up,
- 3:46Chris: but then she's like,
- 3:46Chris: "I'm just not even gonna watch it.
- 3:48Chris: "Fuck it, who cares?"
- 3:49Nora: therapist would not appreciate if you did that.
- 3:53Mandy: My therapist would be like okay.
- 3:56Charles: I think your therapist would be disappointed in my friends.
- 4:01Chris: I think your therapist would understand that actions have
- 4:04Chris: consequences.
- 4:05Chris: Oh yeah.
- 4:07Chris: Learning that is an important lesson.
- 4:09Nora: Realistically that would really hurt my
- 4:12Charles: feelings. Hey guess what?
- 4:14Charles: Chris and Mandy are in the ones and twos.
- 4:16Charles: Hi guys.
- 4:16Chris: Ones and twos,
- 4:17Chris: hi everybody.
- 4:18Chris: Welcome to our one year anniversary.
- 4:21Chris: This is officially the longest running live show
- 4:23Chris: in the history of Loudspeaker.
- 4:25Chris: Woo hoo!
- 4:25Mandy: I didn't know that.
- 4:27Charles: Yeah.
- 4:28Charles: Yeah.
- 4:28Chris: It's kind of crazy.
- 4:29Chris: But yeah,
- 4:31Chris: episode 40 guys, we're here.
- 4:33Mandy: Nice.
- 4:34Nora: That's not bad.
- 4:35Mandy: I want a trophy.
- 4:37Nora: You haven't even been here for all of them.
- 4:38Charles: Yeah.
- 4:39Mandy: (laughing)
- 4:39Mandy: I've been here for enough of them.
- 4:42Charles: You very specifically were going to miss the show
- 4:45Charles: and I had to neg you into showing up this week.
- 4:48Mandy: But I did.
- 4:49Mandy: I'm skipping book club with those that I love to be here.
- 4:53Charles: Yeah.
- 4:53Chris: To be fair, your book club was also later canceled.
- 4:56Mandy: Because I wasn't there.
- 4:59Nora: I mean,
- 5:00Nora: I just do my book clubs on not Wednesday nights.
- 5:03Mandy: They have been doing this for years.
- 5:07Mandy: Longer than one year,
- 5:08Mandy: but.
- 5:09Chris: That's fair.
- 5:10Nora: I mean, technically we have been off air
- 5:12Nora: for longer than a year.
- 5:15Charles: This is true.
- 5:16Nora: We've been off air for about a year and nine months.
- 5:19Nora: We started at the beginning of two years ago.
- 5:23Nora: Wait,
- 5:23Mandy: tell me the story.
- 5:24Mandy: I don't know this story.
- 5:25Nora: I don't know.
- 5:26Nora: We just wanted to do a live show.
- 5:28Nora: And Charles was like, hey, Nora, you
- 5:30Nora: want to do a live show with me?
- 5:31Nora: And I was like, yeah,
- 5:31Nora: sure.
- 5:32Nora: And so we started brainstorming ideas.
- 5:35Nora: And then we started doing some test episodes.
- 5:38Nora: And then we did nine months of test episodes.
- 5:40Chris: We did a whole lot of test episodes.
- 5:41Mandy: What?
- 5:41Mandy: Nine months?
- 5:43Nora: We started in January of that year,
- 5:46Nora: and then we were finally ready to go live in September.
- 5:49Nora: So it does feel like it's been longer than a year,
- 5:52Nora: but that makes sense.
- 5:53Chris: That's what a lot of people don't realize
- 5:55Chris: is that live TV,
- 5:56Chris: even on the internet,
- 5:57Chris: is hard to do.
- 6:00Chris: And especially when you have,
- 6:02Chris: when you bring together a group of people
- 6:03Chris: who aren't used to doing that together,
- 6:06Chris: it takes some time to kind of build up
- 6:08Chris: what works, what doesn't,
- 6:10Chris: how you're gonna sort of vibe together,
- 6:12Chris: for lack of a better term.
- 6:13Chris: So I'm glad that we took the time we did
- 6:16Chris: to actually test things out before we just went live
- 6:20Chris: because if we had just gone when we wanted to start,
- 6:23Chris: I don't think we would have the show we have now.
- 6:26Charles: Yeah,
- 6:27Charles: I think it was a really good idea for us.
- 6:29Charles: (laughing)
- 6:30Charles: Really good idea for us to,
- 6:33Charles: I didn't even see you do it.
- 6:35Charles: And I'm sitting right next to you.
- 6:37Charles: All I heard was the noise of like,
- 6:39Charles: like fumbling around into your microphone.
- 6:43Charles: (laughing)
- 6:43Charles: But no, I think we made the right decision
- 6:46Charles: to spend some extra time so that we came out
- 6:49Charles: of the gate running really strong with a very solid show.
- 6:55Charles: And I feel like it's only gotten more solid
- 6:58Charles: as we handle it on our own.
- 6:59Nora: Agreed, it helped us build our rapport.
- 7:02Nora: 'Cause Chris and I didn't know each other very well before,
- 7:04Nora: well, we didn't know each other very much at all
- 7:05Nora: before we started this, so.
- 7:07Chris: Yeah, not at all.
- 7:08Nora: You've seen our friendship blossom in real time.
- 7:10Chris: Aww. - It's very nice.
- 7:12Chris: I'm so glad that Nora is a part of my life now because Nora is awesome even when she doesn't show up.
- 7:18Mandy: I was like, "When she's here!"
- 7:20Mandy: When she goes to wrestling even though she says she's not, yeah.
- 7:23Nora: Yeah,
- 7:24Nora: and I'm gonna go to both of Twilight's even though I don't want to.
- 7:29Chris: That's the spirit.
- 7:31Charles: Can I read those text messages?
- 7:33Mandy: Yes!
- 7:34Nora: Well, I'm having a good day,
- 7:37Nora: first of all.
- 7:38Charles: Can I read it because of what you said?
- 7:41Nora: Yes!
- 7:43Charles: Because we had a conversation about
- 7:46Charles: when we were going to watch the Breaking Dawn
- 7:51Charles: part one and two,
- 7:52Charles: both movies,
- 7:53Charles: together.
- 7:55Charles: And so Mandy texts the group and says,
- 7:57Charles: "Breaking Dawn one and two at my house
- 7:59Charles: "Sunday, 27th at 2 p.m."
- 8:01Charles: And this was last Wednesday that we made this decision
- 8:03Charles: without Nora,
- 8:04Charles: because Nora was not here to help.
- 8:07Nora: 'Cause I was having a really bad day.
- 8:08Charles: You were having a really bad day.
- 8:10Charles: Immediately after you said can we please won't do them separately. I can't watch them back-to-back
- 8:15Charles: That's not that much movie to watch. That's
- 8:19Nora: movies was tired of
- 8:22Nora: Eclipse by an hour and 30 minutes in so now that we're talking about at doing that twice and watching
- 8:30Nora: two movies that are bad
- 8:34Nora: back-to-back I
- 8:37Nora: I just, I struggle.
- 8:39Nora: I struggle a lot to just sit and watch a movie
- 8:42Nora: in any capacity,
- 8:43Nora: and so sitting and watching
- 8:44Nora: two in a row is a big ask for me.
- 8:47Nora: And then Nora-- - It's a big ask.
- 8:49Charles: And then Nora says,
- 8:50Charles: "Can I do bong rips
- 8:51Charles: "during Breaking Dawn?" (laughing)
- 8:53Nora: The only way I'm gonna survive,
- 8:55Nora: I had to think of ways to cope.
- 9:00Nora: How am I gonna cope?
- 9:00Charles: Okay.
- 9:01Chris: Nora's coping.
- 9:02Charles: You haven't seen these movies,
- 9:04Charles: right?
- 9:05Nora: I know what happens.
- 9:07Chris: But you don't know how the film version of it happens.
- 9:10Chris: So just double-advocate.
- 9:12Chris: How do you know that they're bad?
- 9:16Nora: Because I've watched the other three.
- 9:19Nora: And my pattern recognition as an autistic person,
- 9:22Nora: I know how it's going to go.
- 9:25Nora: They're the best ones.
- 9:26Nora: I've listened-
- 9:26Mandy: They're the best ones yet.
- 9:27Mandy: You just-
- 9:27Nora: --to multiple podcast episodes of my podcast
- 9:31Nora: watching and reviewing those movies.
- 9:33Nora: So I know what happens.
- 9:35Charles: But here's the thing.
- 9:35Charles: Allegedly.
- 9:36Charles: You don't know.
- 9:37Charles: You don't know.
- 9:39Charles: You don't know what happens because in the end,
- 9:44Charles: it is glorious.
- 9:45Charles: It is some of the best cinema out there.
- 9:50Charles: And during the,
- 9:52Charles: like the whole cast
- 9:54Charles: didn't want to be there for the press tour so much.
- 9:57Charles: They were like, this is the worst thing.
- 9:59Charles: And then we're so over it at that point
- 10:02Charles: that they were just fucking around the entire time.
- 10:04Charles: And I'm so excited for us.
- 10:07Charles: I don't mind watching that.
- 10:08Charles: We'll watch all of that next week.
- 10:11Chris: In the chat,
- 10:12Chris: Lynn says,
- 10:13Chris: "I'm glad that Nora's in your life too
- 10:15Chris: "because she made me an awesome hat."
- 10:17Nora: I did, I made Lynn a really great hat
- 10:19Nora: and it's finally kind of cool enough
- 10:20Nora: that she can probably wear it in the morning,
- 10:22Nora: so I'm very excited.
- 10:23Mandy: She also pointed out that we have been in book club
- 10:26Mandy: for 12 years,
- 10:28Mandy: so they have dibs.
- 10:29Chris: Well, and clearly that commitment
- 10:33Chris: doesn't mean a lot to people
- 10:34Chris: if they can just cancel an hour.
- 10:36Chris: Look,
- 10:37Mandy: I mean,
- 10:37Mandy: I understand,
- 10:38Mandy: 'cause if I said I wasn't gonna be there
- 10:40Mandy: and everyone's like, "Well, what's the point then?
- 10:41Mandy: "Mandy's the whole point of book club."
- 10:43Mandy: And I am.
- 10:44Nora: Right.
- 10:45Mandy: Of everything.
- 10:47Chris: Twinkle, twinkle.
- 10:49Mandy: So, yeah.
- 10:50Mandy: So it made me feel better
- 10:51Mandy: because at least I'm not missing out.
- 10:53Nora: I mean,
- 10:54Nora: it could just move to another day
- 10:55Nora: now that you have important things on Wednesdays.
- 10:57Charles: Right,
- 10:57Charles: and seniority kinda sucks as a concept.
- 11:00Charles: Right.
- 11:01Nora: Like, we've done it this way
- 11:02Nora: because we've always done it that way.
- 11:03Chris: It's very capitalist.
- 11:05Charles: It's the very capitalist of you.
- 11:06Mandy: I think you mean patriarchal.
- 11:08Charles: Yeah,
- 11:09Charles: exactly.
- 11:10Chris: Both can be true. - It's kind of a bad reason.
- 11:11Charles: Yeah,
- 11:12Charles: exactly.
- 11:12Charles: It's kind of racist if you think about it.
- 11:14Charles: (laughing)
- 11:16Nora: You can't just keep doing things
- 11:17Nora: because you've always done it that way.
- 11:18Chris: Yeah, and why would you wanna be racist?
- 11:20Nora: Yeah.
- 11:24Chris: Anyway.
- 11:25Chris: (laughing)
- 11:26Charles: How is everybody's week?
- 11:28Nora: Speaking of racist.
- 11:30Nora: (laughing)
- 11:31Charles: The anecdotes section of our show notes
- 11:33Charles: is entirely empty.
- 11:35Mandy: Okay, give me two seconds and I'll put something.
- 11:37Mandy: (laughing)
- 11:38Charles: Who wants to go first?
- 11:40Nora: I put my finger in the dog's mouth last week
- 11:43Nora: and now he can't feel things right
- 11:45Nora: on the side of my fingers.
- 11:46Mandy: What?
- 11:48Nora: It was my fault.
- 11:49Nora: It was really my fault.
- 11:51Nora: That one was my fault and it didn't make me grow.
- 11:52Charles: Can you explain that a little bit better?
- 11:56Nora: He ate a stick and like he shouldn't have eaten a stick.
- 11:58Charles: He ate a what?
- 11:58Nora: A stick.
- 11:59Charles: Stick.
- 12:01Nora: A stick.
- 12:02Chris: Charles Richard.
- 12:03Nora: I don't know what it was, but he's allergic to meat and I was hoping it wasn't meat.
- 12:06Nora: And then I put my finger in there and I know better.
- 12:08Mandy: Wait, your dog's allergic to meat?
- 12:11Nora: Yeah.
- 12:11Nora: He's not my dog, he's my roommate's dog.
- 12:13Nora: But yes, he is very allergic to meat.
- 12:16Chris: Interesting.
- 12:17Charles: Yeah.
- 12:17Charles: He's this big, full...
- 12:18Charles: And why can't you feel your finger?
- 12:19Nora: Because I put my finger in his mouth and he bit me.
- 12:23Charles: And it's still numb.
- 12:24Nora: Yeah, because where he bit me I think is where a bunch of nerves run.
- 12:27Chris: Down my finger.
- 12:28Chris: And how many days ago was this?
- 12:30Nora: It was last Friday.
- 12:31Nora: So it hasn't been that long.
- 12:33Charles: So it's been almost a whole week of numbness?
- 12:35Nora: Just a little bit.
- 12:36Nora: It's just like-- it's like from here to here.
- 12:39Nora: And it's just when I touch it, you know?
- 12:41Mandy: Hmm.
- 12:43Chris: I am not a doctor, but I would think
- 12:45Chris: you should maybe talk to one.
- 12:47Nora: I have had far worse dog bites,
- 12:49Nora: and this one is fine.
- 12:51Nora: Nerves regrow.
- 12:52Charles: That sounds like you should go to a doctor.
- 12:55Nora: I'm not 30 yet.
- 12:56Nora: It didn't go that deep.
- 12:58Nora: It just got the nerve.
- 13:00Nora: It's really fine.
- 13:01Mandy: I mean,
- 13:02Mandy: really, how often do you use
- 13:03Mandy: your pointer finger anyway?
- 13:04Nora: I mean, it's my left hand, it's not my right hand,
- 13:07Nora: and I can still knit,
- 13:08Nora: so like,
- 13:09Nora: we're good.
- 13:09Chris: Well, as long as you can knit.
- 13:11Nora: Like, it's not swollen,
- 13:13Nora: I could still do this.
- 13:14Nora: Like, we're all good.
- 13:16Chris: Charles,
- 13:17Chris: tell us about your milestone.
- 13:20Charles: I hit a double milestone this week.
- 13:24Charles: I paid off my car,
- 13:26Charles: the title came in,
- 13:28Charles: and I also hit Boobies Mileage.
- 13:30Mandy: Yes,
- 13:31Mandy: did you get boobies mileage on camera?
- 13:33Charles: Oh, did I get boobies on camera?
- 13:37Charles: I'm gonna show boobies to everybody
- 13:40Charles: Not boobies. It's just boobs.
- 13:42Charles: It's just boobs,
- 13:43Charles: but I got boobs.
- 13:44Charles: Yeah on camera as it happened
- 13:47Charles: Yes, and I was driving
- 13:49Charles: hello
- 13:52Mandy: Way to go
- 13:54Mandy: Paid off the car and boobs.
- 13:56Mandy: We're so proud.
- 13:56Nora: Yep.
- 13:57Nora: That's a really good milestone.
- 13:59Chris: Congrats Charles.
- 14:00Chris: Thank you.
- 14:00Mandy: Lynn just wants to point out that the actors
- 14:04Mandy: talk to the doctor is nice boobies.
- 14:09Chris: I don't say that.
- 14:09Nora: I can fully move it.
- 14:10Mandy: Talk to the doctor says the guy who wouldn't go
- 14:12Mandy: to the ER for a droopy ass face.
- 14:15Charles: Although it's,
- 14:16Chris: to be fair,
- 14:18Chris: I did go to the ER.
- 14:19Chris: Thank you very much.
- 14:20Chris: And they said, why are you here?
- 14:22Chris: Oh, I see.
- 14:22Chris: (laughing)
- 14:24Charles: Oh, the Bell's palsy.
- 14:27Nora: I literally had-- - You feel real good.
- 14:29Nora: Open canine wounds, like canine teeth wounds
- 14:31Nora: on this hand, so like this,
- 14:33Nora: this is nothing.
- 14:35Charles: I've also been playing the most House of Leaves-ass
- 14:39Charles: video game on the planet. - Oh no.
- 14:41Charles: And I am really excited, I've got a clip
- 14:44Charles: of something that happens in the game.
- 14:46Charles: I've got it on my laptop.
- 14:48Charles: Chris, you can cut to my screen here.
- 14:50Charles: I was showing Chris this before,
- 14:52Charles: But like,
- 14:53Charles: the whole premise of this game,
- 14:55Charles: this is Control Resonance, this is probably gonna be
- 14:57Charles: in my top games of the year.
- 15:00Charles: You're going down into this sunken apartment complex.
- 15:03Charles: So the apartment complex is going down impossibly long,
- 15:07Charles: sound familiar?
- 15:09Charles: And all of the walls are like covered in
- 15:12Charles: like apartment buildings that have just kind of like,
- 15:15Charles: it's all sunken in.
- 15:17Charles: But you're basically going down through
- 15:19Charles: this apartment complex on a crane
- 15:22Charles: as you just like descend into nothing.
- 15:25Charles: So I just really wanted to like show off
- 15:27Charles: like how fricking cool this game just looks artistically.
- 15:33Charles: Like video games are art.
- 15:36Charles: Video games,
- 15:37Charles: you know, people dunk on video games
- 15:40Charles: as a concept,
- 15:41Charles: but like video games become like literal art.
- 15:46Charles: And this is like kaleidoscoping the people
- 15:50Charles: inside the apartment complex as they kind of go around.
- 15:54Charles: And Chris put it beautifully.
- 15:55Nora: That's really cool.
- 15:57Charles: Yeah,
- 15:58Charles: Chris put this like,
- 15:59Charles: great.
- 15:59Charles: It's terrifying and beautiful at the same time.
- 16:02Charles: And I think that that was such a great way to put this.
- 16:06Charles: That it's just like, I was just like in awe
- 16:09Charles: as we were like descending into this building

- 44:37Chris: We'll at least take solace in the fact
- 44:39Chris: that you played it on your phone in the camera
- 44:41Chris: and we didn't have it over the phone.
- 44:43Nora: That is true.
- 44:44Charles: Okay, I'll make up for it.
- 44:45Charles: I've got some good ones that you guys-
- 44:48Charles: So Gary is back.
- 44:49Charles: If you guys don't remember Gary,
- 44:51Charles: Gary the dog.
- 44:54Charles: If we could play the first video,
- 44:55Charles: you'll know exactly who it is.
- 44:57Video: Yeah, we got a possible 1055.
- 44:59Video: What's going on,
- 45:00Video: pal?
- 45:01Mandy: Aw, he is.
- 45:01Mandy: You've been swimming a bit back there, huh?
- 45:02Mandy: You been drinking tonight?
- 45:04Charles: Why don't you shut the music off,
- 45:05Charles: step out of the vehicle, huh?
- 45:07Charles: I'm 21.
- 45:08Charles: So where are you coming from?
- 45:09Charles: Dog park open late tonight?
- 45:11Mandy: Don't answer any questions.
- 45:13Video: Can you walk a straight line?
- 45:14Chris: I want my lawyer.
- 45:15Chris: Let me see it.
- 45:17Video: Oh my God, you got weak ankles,
- 45:19Video: boy.
- 45:19Mandy: (laughing)
- 45:23Video: Hi pal.
- 45:25Mandy: Am I being detained or am I free to leave?
- 45:30Chris: Can you imagine being like this guy's neighbors
- 45:32Chris: watching him film this at night?
- 45:34Mandy: I want to be this guy's neighbor
- 45:36Mandy: watching him film this at night.
- 45:37Nora: Love watching videos being filmed
- 45:41Chris: That was it okay.
- 45:43Charles: Okay. We got no we got two more. Don't worry Gary Gary's behaving come to avenge your brother I
- 45:50Video: Struck him down and you will meet the same fate
- 46:06Video: Prepare to die
- 46:10Video: You will never make it
- 46:21Video: Home I see the armory
- 46:29Chris: Also, was that the Lord of the Rings song I think so
- 46:34Charles: One final Gary video and then I've got a final new kind of
- 46:41Charles: Chiropractic but not
- 46:44Video: All right, try your left your left your your other left other left.
- 46:47Video: No, no,
- 46:48Video: come on pivot pivot here
- 46:49Video: I'm gonna try to wedge it
- 46:52Video: All right.
- 46:52Video: All right. I think we got it. We got it
- 46:55Video: Okay,
- 46:55Video: take a break
- 46:56Video: All right.
- 46:57Video: I'm gonna come towards you now. Okay, just watch the rail watch behind you watch the rail
- 47:01Video: Here!
- 47:02Video: No!
- 47:03Video: Gary!
- 47:03Nora: No!
- 47:03Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 47:04Video: No.
- 47:06Video: Gar!
- 47:07Video: Gar!
- 47:08Video: [LAUGHTER]
- 47:10Video: Come on.
- 47:10Video: Quit goofing off.
- 47:12Video: I need help up here.
- 47:12Video: Come on.
- 47:14Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 47:15Nora: Snuggled up in the chair.
- 47:17Chris: Amazing.
- 47:18Chris: I do love Gary.
- 47:20Chris: He's my favorite of your weird little guys.
- 47:22Nora: He has no thoughts, and I like that.
- 47:25Charles: So you guys know how I feel about chiropractic.
- 47:27Mandy: Oh, yeah.
- 47:28Charles: Right?
- 47:29Charles: So I-
- 47:29Nora: Ghosts.
- 47:30Charles: I do tend to feel the same way about Reiki a little bit.
- 47:34Charles: (laughing)
- 47:35Charles: Especially after watching this video.
- 47:37Charles: Mm-hmm.
- 47:41Charles: (laughing)
- 47:47Nora: I could make a lot of money doing that.
- 47:51Nora: If I had no ethics,
- 47:52Nora: I could make so much money.
- 47:54Mandy: See, I feel the same way about religion.
- 47:55Mandy: (laughing)
- 47:59Mandy: I had no ethics,
- 48:00Mandy: easy way.
- 48:01Nora: Yeah, right?
- 48:01Nora: Like I could make so much money off of that.
- 48:05Nora: Yeah, I just saw one that was like,
- 48:07Nora: like a lady was like pulling on somebody's back
- 48:12Nora: and I was like,
- 48:13Nora: all right,
- 48:14Nora: Reiki.
- 48:14Mandy: The problem is in Northern Colorado,
- 48:16Mandy: if you go to like yoga classes,
- 48:18Mandy: you always meet somebody who's into that
- 48:20Mandy: and it's always very like, how do you keep a straight face?
- 48:22Mandy: Like how do you respect their choices?
- 48:28Charles: Right.
- 48:28Nora: Without judging what it means about them.
- 48:31Chris: I mean,
- 48:31Chris: I'm 100% judging you.
- 48:33Charles: I just don't think that to maybe,
- 48:38Charles: okay,
- 48:38Charles: I'm gonna say this
- 48:39Charles: and then I'm gonna immediately take it back
- 48:41Charles: because now that I think about it,
- 48:43Charles: but if you're doing this over my body,
- 48:46Mandy: (laughing)
- 48:47Mandy: yes please,
- 48:47Charles: how is that gonna make me feel better?
- 48:50Mandy: I mean,
- 48:51Mandy: yeah,
- 48:52Mandy: walk that back, walk that back.
- 48:53Charles: Exactly,
- 48:54Charles: exactly.
- 48:56Nora: There's one situation.
- 48:58Nora: (laughing)
- 49:00Chris: Wait Charles, can you demonstrate that in the close up?
- 49:03Video: Slow motion?
- 49:04Chris: Yeah.
- 49:05Chris: (laughing)
- 49:09Chris: You guys.
- 49:11Chris: Oh, he hawked to it.
- 49:12Chris: Oh my God.
- 49:15Video: It's the birthday episode, I have to go full on into it.
- 49:17Nora: Happy birthday,
- 49:18Nora: Vibe Check.
- 49:19Chris: Happy birthday, Vibe Check.
- 49:21Chris: This is where a graphic would go if we had one,
- 49:23Chris: but we don't.
- 49:23Chris: But we don't.
- 49:24Mandy: I mean, we got decorations.
- 49:26Mandy: We have little festive hats.
- 49:28Chris: We do, although I forgot to put mine on, so I suck.
- 49:31Mandy: Christopher!
- 49:32Chris: I know.
- 49:33Nora: You forced us autistic people to wear this around our head?
- 49:37Charles: It was a-
- 49:38Chris: No one held a gun to your head.
- 49:39Charles: It was a nightmare around my chin,
- 49:42Charles: which is why I had to fling it away,
- 49:45Charles: because I could not
- 49:46Charles: handle it anymore.
- 49:47Nora: There's a reason that it was-
- 49:49Charles: I couldn't handle it anymore,
- 49:51Charles: Chris.
- 49:51Chris: Is that an autistic thing, having something
- 49:54Chris: around your chin?
- 49:55Mandy: It's a sensory issue.
- 49:56Nora: Over-stimulating sensory issue.
- 49:56Charles: Yeah, it's a sensory issue for sure.
- 49:58Charles: Oh, okay.
- 49:59Nora: It was really uncomfortable.
- 50:00Charles: It's the same thing like when I go to Target
- 50:02Charles: and I have to touch every single piece of clothing
- 50:05Charles: because I don't know if it feels good or not.
- 50:08Charles: And then you go, "Ooh, this feels good,"
- 50:10Charles: or "This feels bad."
- 50:11Charles: And then you have to do it with everything.
- 50:13Mandy: I can't wear necklaces.
- 50:15Mandy: And I'm a jewelry girl and I can't wear them
- 50:17Mandy: 'cause I'll just die.
- 50:18Nora: Yeah,
- 50:19Nora: my sister can't wear turtlenecks
- 50:20Nora: 'cause she feels like she's being
- 50:21Nora: gently strangled all day.
- 50:23Mandy: Oh my God, I could never.
- 50:23Chris: See, this is further proof that I'm not autistic
- 50:25Chris: because none of that stuff bothers me.
- 50:27Mandy: I mean,
- 50:28Mandy: neither am I,
- 50:29Mandy: but I am neurodivergent.
- 50:31Mandy: (laughing)
- 50:32Nora: Turns out C-H-P-T-S-D and autism manifest very similarly.
- 50:37Nora: (laughing)
- 50:38Nora: Fun time!
- 50:39Mandy: Happy birthday!
- 50:41Mandy: (laughing)
- 50:45Charles: What kind of music should we play?
- 50:47Mandy: Festive?
- 50:48Mandy: Polka?
- 50:49Charles: Polka,
- 50:50Charles: okay,
- 50:50Charles: let's look at polka.
- 50:51Mandy: Oompa-oompas?
- 50:53Charles: Should we do ska? - I'm married to a tuba player.
- 50:56Nora: I love scuba.
- 50:57Charles: Scuba?
- 50:59Chris: I love scuba music.
- 51:00Nora: As she said tuba,
- 51:01Nora: and I said ska.
- 51:02Charles: Okay,
- 51:03Charles: I'm gonna get some ska going.
- 51:11Mandy: Wow, that's like SpongeBob.
- 51:14Charles: Okay, somebody tell me about loudspeaker.
- 51:17Mandy: It's a good time.
- 51:19Mandy: Oh no, I'm not ready for this.
- 51:21Mandy: Why?
- 51:21Charles: You did it, it's all you.
- 51:23Charles: Hi,
- 51:23Mandy: so,
- 51:24Mandy: um, Hello Up Speaker,
- 51:25Mandy: it's a non-profit where you can listen to amazing music and watch
- 51:29Mandy: things like this all the time. It's amazing.
- 51:31Mandy: We also have space that you can rent,
- 51:34Mandy: that, um, cheapest
- 51:35Mandy: studio space in northern Colorado.
- 51:38Mandy: Uh, it's great.
- 51:39Mandy: Um,
- 51:40Mandy: we,
- 51:40Mandy: we would appreciate your support in the
- 51:42Mandy: form of finances if you have them.
- 51:44Mandy: If you don't,
- 51:45Mandy: uh, we would love you to follow us, subscribe,
- 51:48Mandy: watch us. That's the biggest support you can give us right now.
- 51:50Mandy: Uh, and we love each and every one
- 51:52Mandy: Is that good enough?
- 51:53Mandy: Can I go away now?
- 51:55Chris: I think that was great.
- 51:57Chris: What do we think,
- 51:57Chris: team?
- 51:58Charles: That was the quickest one for sure.
- 52:01Charles: Panic, baby.
- 52:01Charles: Let's do the call to action.
- 52:03Charles: What website do they need to go to?
- 52:05Mandy: Loudspeaker.org and download the app.
- 52:08Chris: Woo-hoo.
- 52:09Chris: Good job, Mindy.
- 52:09Chris: The app rock.
- 52:10Charles: Oh my god, I think we're going to throw up.
- 52:12Chris: Chris,
- 52:13Nora: if you would throw some Victor Jones in one of the stations,
- 52:16Nora: I would listen more.
- 52:17Chris: I mean, we can do that.
- 52:18Charles: We have the ability to do that.
- 52:20Chris: We should do that.
- 52:20Chris: We have the technology.
- 52:21Nora: Yeah.
- 52:22Nora: I'm going to go to the next one.
- 52:22Nora: Yeah,
- 52:23Nora: I know Charles has feelings about Victor Jones,
- 52:25Nora: but not all of his songs are screaming,
- 52:28Nora: I promise.
- 52:28Charles: Just 90% of them.
- 52:30Nora: Actually,
- 52:30Nora: his new album has reduced that percentage
- 52:34Nora: to about 75.
- 52:35Charles: Whoa!
- 52:36Nora: Yeah, like there's actually some music going on
- 52:38Nora: in some new songs.
- 52:40Charles: Damn, dude.
- 52:42Nora: I know.
- 52:43Nora: I still like 'em, though.
- 52:44Nora: So you can even play the non-screaming ones on the station.
- 52:49Nora: I would listen more.
- 52:51Nora: So.
- 52:52Charles: I want more Ska,
- 52:53Charles: just in my life in general.
- 52:54Charles: Not on loudspeaker, but just in general.
- 52:56Charles: Just,
- 52:56Charles: I need more (imitates beatboxing)
- 53:00Charles: You know?
- 53:01Chris: You know, we could do like a Ska hour or Ska show.
- 53:07Chris: I think that'd be fun.
- 53:07Charles: The Ska-er.
- 53:10Mandy: Ah, Skower.
- 53:11Mandy: Skower.
- 53:11Nora: Scuba.
- 53:12Chris: The Skower.
- 53:12Chris: (laughing)
- 53:13Charles: Scuba.
- 53:14Charles: Scuba.
- 53:15Charles: (laughing)
- 53:16Chris: Scuba.
- 53:17Chris: Scuba Steve,
- 53:18Chris: damn you.
- 53:18Charles: It's okay, you're high.
- 53:20Nora: I could be a lot higher.
- 53:23Mandy: But it's our birthdays.
- 53:25Mandy: With a birthday high.
- 53:28Charles: OK.
- 53:29Charles: Let's talk about our birthday.
- 53:34Charles: Yes.
- 53:35Charles: Happy birthday, y'all.
- 53:38Nora: Nine months of gestation.
- 53:39Nora: It makes sense.
- 53:40Charles: Yeah.
- 53:41Nora: It just hit me.
- 53:42Chris: Wow.
- 53:42Chris: That was definitely not planned.
- 53:45Charles: Yeah.
- 53:45Charles: It's more like 10, if you really count it.
- 53:48Charles: It's nine months after-
- 53:50Nora: 40 weeks,
- 53:51Nora: you know?
- 53:52Charles: Yeah.
- 53:52Nora: It really was like a...
- 53:54Charles: It's more like if you want,
- 53:56Charles: so like...
- 53:57Nora: 40 weeks.
- 53:59Charles: If you think about it.
- 54:00Nora: It's like having a baby.
- 54:00Charles: So you're wrong.
- 54:01Mandy: So if we were more together,
- 54:04Mandy: we could have made a clip show.
- 54:05Mandy: We're not there.
- 54:06Mandy: So let's do out loud.
- 54:09Mandy: What were your favorite clip moments
- 54:11Mandy: that maybe we should put into the intro?
- 54:14Mandy: Favorite moments for the show?
- 54:15Chris: While people are thinking about that,
- 54:17Chris: Let's take a quick look at the very first live show we ever did
- 54:22Chris: Which was almost exactly seven years ago this show aired on August 19th 2019
- 54:30Chris: To give you an idea of how far we have come
- 54:36Chris: So originally the show was called noco live and
- 54:41Chris: We shot it. Oh
- 54:43Charles: Basement look at that camera autofocus
- 54:47Charles: Chris, Chris.
- 54:48Chris: I know,
- 54:49Chris: it was so bad.
- 54:49Charles: Look at my hair.
- 54:51Mandy: Hey, the names are in the right place.
- 54:52Speaker 6: So if I get it done,
- 54:54Speaker 6: I'm actually gonna make sure
- 54:55Speaker 6: it's done.
- 54:55Nora: The names are not in the right place.
- 54:57Mandy: That's really annoying.
- 54:59Charles: I think we did that on purpose.
- 55:00Chris: Yeah, we did that on, I think.
- 55:02Speaker 6: Yeah, sure.
- 55:02Mandy: No, actually,
- 55:03Chris: I remember now.
- 55:04Chris: That was not on purpose.
- 55:06Video: Taylor says, it's okay, Charles, I like it rough.
- 55:09Video: (laughing)
- 55:10Chris: On this Monday,
- 55:12Chris: on this lovely Monday.
- 55:13Video: Thumbs up to that.
- 55:16Charles: Thumbs up to that.
- 55:18Chris: I think the idea here was just like,
- 55:21Chris: hey, what if we just turned the camera on
- 55:23Chris: and you guys weren't able to make it last week,
- 55:26Chris: where we're also on the radio stream,
- 55:29Charles: live as well.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Oh my god.
- 55:31Charles: So here's a fun thing that we can do
- 55:34Charles: with the radio station's camera.
- 55:35Charles: Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
- 55:38Charles: (laughing)
- 55:41Chris: Oh no, there I am.
- 55:42Nora: Audio chaos.
- 55:43Chris: Look at this whole shot.
- 55:44Chris: Oh,
- 55:45Chris: Chris!
- 55:46Mandy: Oh, what an angle.
- 55:47Mandy: That's just not your angle.
- 55:48Chris: No, it's not.
- 55:49Chris: You know what I had as a-
- 55:51Chris: I tried to cut to that shot as little as possible.
- 55:55Charles: This was in Chris's garage.
- 55:58Chris: Our very first studio was in-
- 56:00Chris: I had a townhouse with a really large garage at the time.
- 56:05Chris: And it was large enough that it fit two cars.
- 56:08Chris: Like, it could have fit two regular sized cars
- 56:10Chris: and, like, a third small car.
- 56:12Chris: And so we took half of the garage and put curtains up
- 56:18Chris: and soundproofing stuff that I bought off of Craigslist.
- 56:21Charles: Soundproofing.
- 56:22Charles: Anytime one of the neighbors opened their garage,
- 56:24Charles: you could hear it as they fell.
- 56:27Charles: (laughing)
- 56:28Chris: That's true.
- 56:29Chris: Love it.
- 56:30Chris: That's true.
- 56:30Chris: But let's say like the red and gray walls,
- 56:32Chris: those are actual like professional sound stuff
- 56:35Chris: I got off of Craigslist.
- 56:36Chris: But yeah,
- 56:37Chris: it was cold in the winter,
- 56:40Chris: scalding hot in the summer.
- 56:42Chris: We had an illegal space heater down there.
- 56:45Nora: That's the Charles that I met.
- 56:47Nora: Yeah.
- 56:47Nora: That's, yeah. - Really?
- 56:49Nora: 'Cause we met in 2019 in about October.
- 56:52Chris: Okay,
- 56:53Chris: yeah, so this was August of 2019,
- 56:54Chris: and yeah,
- 56:56Chris: we just kinda threw stuff together.
- 56:58Chris: We didn't have good cameras, we barely had a switcher.
- 57:01Chris: No, we had two cameras going into a 10-year-old iMac.
- 57:04Chris: I'm surprised it even worked.
- 57:07Chris: But yeah, that's how we started.
- 57:09Chris: Charles, what do you remember about those days?
- 57:11Charles: I remember our,
- 57:14Charles: I remember that version of Tasty Little Treats.
- 57:20Charles: What was it called?
- 57:21Charles: Charles's Energy Drink Corner.
- 57:23Chris: Yes, it was. - It was Charles's
- 57:23Chris: Energy Drink Corner,
- 57:24Chris: yeah.
- 57:24Nora: Even though it wasn't always energy drink.
- 57:27Charles: It was mostly never energy drink.
- 57:29Charles: (laughing)
- 57:31Charles: So it got to the point where like every single week
- 57:34Charles: I would bring in something new and crazy
- 57:37Charles: to the point where we were buying boxes of cereal
- 57:40Charles: and bringing in milk and pouring milk
- 57:42Charles: directly into the cereal,
- 57:44Charles: like the box of the cereal and eating it from the box,
- 57:46Charles: which is a wild thing to do.
- 57:49Nora: That's a lot of cereal to eat.
- 57:51Charles: Did you see how I looked at that point?
- 57:55Charles: (laughing)
- 57:55Charles: I could eat that much.
- 57:56Nora: It was easy to put away.
- 57:57Charles: It was easy to put away at the time.
- 58:02Charles: Man, holy.
- 58:03Nora: 2019 was a different time.
- 58:05Charles: It was a different, it was pre COVID.
- 58:07Nora: It was.
- 58:08Chris: Yeah, we had the good fortune of starting a show
- 58:12Chris: only a few minutes or a few months before COVID hit.
- 58:15Chris: So we had that going for us.
- 58:18Nora: Yeah, I was at my big kid job for six months
- 58:20Nora: before I moved home.
- 58:21Nora: Like that's - Some
- 58:22Speaker 6: people throw themselves.
- 58:23Nora: That's
- 58:23Nora: right. - We did
- 58:24Chris: all the energy drink stuff on the first episode.
- 58:27Chris: I'll
- 58:27Charles: just say one last thing. I do feel
- 58:28Charles: like it's similar.
- 58:29Charles: Like what if
- 58:30Charles: ScarJo was like - We didn't
- 58:32Chris: have a script.
- 58:32Chris: We didn't do like, we didn't really pre-plan anything.
- 58:36Chris: It was just more like, well, what do you guys want to talk about this week?
- 58:39Charles: You're right.
- 58:40Chris: Um, and we just sort of made it up as we went along.
- 58:42Charles: So it was,
- 58:44Charles: it was a show.
- 58:45Chris: It was a show.
- 58:47Chris: And then we actually tried to do it.
- 58:50Chris: Uh, through COVID we had it with doing everybody remote.
- 58:53Chris: And I think we did.
- 58:56Mandy: The husband just texted and said,
- 58:59Mandy: Nora sure looks different.
- 59:02Mandy: (laughing)
- 59:08Nora: Yeah,
- 59:08Nora: I've changed a lot.
- 59:09Nora: There's been some changes.
- 59:11Nora: (laughing)
- 59:11Charles: You,
- 59:12Charles: you know KevKat.
- 59:13Charles: I know Kev, yeah.
- 59:15Nora: He's doing really well.
- 59:16Nora: I see him in town.
- 59:18Nora: He's,
- 59:18Nora: you can sometimes catch KevKat at the Lyric
- 59:22Nora: for a Rocky Horror Picture Show night.
- 59:24Nora: So,
- 59:26Nora: yeah.
- 59:26Chris: And they are actually right now
- 59:29Chris: raising money for their top surgery.
- 59:32Chris: Their top surgery.
- 59:33Chris: Excellent.
- 59:34Chris: We'll put a link to that in the show notes
- 59:36Chris: if you are able to support them.
- 59:39Chris: I'm sure they would very much appreciate it.
- 59:41Chris: But yeah, we've come pretty far.
- 59:42Chris: We obviously didn't have this studio.
- 59:45Chris: We didn't have any of the resources we have now.
- 59:50Chris: So it's nice to see kind of how far we've come.
- 59:53Nora: But I don't think this show would be what it is
- 59:55Nora: without that show.
- 59:56Nora: That's the other thing.
- 59:57Nora: Oh, 100%.
- 59:59Nora: learning that you all did from the last show where like when you invited me you
- 1:00:03Nora: were like okay here's kind of what we don't want and here's kind of what we
- 1:00:06Nora: want and here's what works for us so far and knowing like having that experience
- 1:00:11Nora: like definitely made our show better.
- 1:00:14Charles: Right and what we don't want is Kevcat.
- 1:00:18Nora: That was not what I meant!
- 1:00:20Nora: More of the scripting!
- 1:00:21Mandy: It became better once I joined!
- 1:00:24Mandy: Everything is better and more organized and more professional.
- 1:00:29Nora: Mandy said it,
- 1:00:30Nora: I didn't, Mandy said it?
- 1:00:31Nora: No,
- 1:00:32Nora: it's like the scripting and like the,
- 1:00:34Nora: you know,
- 1:00:36Nora: being prepared was like the big thing
- 1:00:38Nora: that I think changed between the last one and this one
- 1:00:40Nora: was just like,
- 1:00:41Nora: hey,
- 1:00:41Nora: everybody pull together
- 1:00:43Nora: some of your favorite things.
- 1:00:45Nora: And the fact that we've shared the load.
- 1:00:49Charles: Don't you dare do that on Joe Biden's internet,
- 1:00:55Charles: okay?
- 1:00:56Charles: Like in 20,
- 1:00:58Charles: it's 2026.
- 1:00:59Charles: We are not sharing a load of any sort
- 1:01:04Charles: without an early fans.
- 1:01:05Charles: (laughing)
- 1:01:07Mandy: Oh,
- 1:01:07Charles: my hair was so long guys.
- 1:01:11Nora: I think everybody's hair was long.
- 1:01:13Nora: And by may of-
- 1:01:14Chris: I'm like 30 pounds heavier there and-
- 1:01:17Mandy: I just don't like the facial hair.
- 1:01:19Chris: It's all in my face.
- 1:01:20Nora: May of 2020.
- 1:01:22Chris: Yeah, the facial hair was not.
- 1:01:23Mandy: I mean, I support your decision.
- 1:01:27Mandy: Not that one.
- 1:01:28Chris: I had a couple of years where I thought facial hair
- 1:01:30Chris: might be a good thing for me and it never was,
- 1:01:34Chris: but I tried it anyway.
- 1:01:35Mandy: I mean,
- 1:01:36Nora: COVID was the time to try it.
- 1:01:37Mandy: That's fine.
- 1:01:38Chris: I mean, I had, I honestly rocked it
- 1:01:40Chris: for a few years before that,
- 1:01:41Chris: so I wish I could blame COVID, I can't.
- 1:01:43Nora: It was a hard time for all of us.
- 1:01:44Charles: Yeah. - It was.
- 1:01:45Charles: I do think, I do think,
- 1:01:46Charles: It was a hard time for my face.
- 1:01:47Charles: Mandy, I think, I do think
- 1:01:48Charles: that you bring up a good point though.
- 1:01:49Charles: Like,
- 1:01:50Charles: what do we need to bring in
- 1:01:52Charles: to put in to the start of this show?
- 1:01:55Charles: Like what separates this to add new clips to the opener?
- 1:02:02Charles: Yeah. - What are those things?
- 1:02:03Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:02:03Mandy: so what were favorite moments of the show?
- 1:02:06Mandy: Which ones?
- 1:02:06Mandy: I mean, I'll go first if you want, but I put myself first.
- 1:02:08Nora: I think Mandy and I have maybe a similar one.
- 1:02:11Nora: I think we do. - When we were hosting
- 1:02:12Nora: and we did like this,
- 1:02:13Nora: the insane-
- 1:02:15Mandy: Pantomime?
- 1:02:16Nora: (laughing)
- 1:02:16Nora: The meat rain, was that what it was?
- 1:02:18Mandy: Yeah, we did pantomime bird vomiting.
- 1:02:24Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:02:24Mandy: That's my number one favorite,
- 1:02:25Mandy: 'cause we did it in synchron,
- 1:02:27Mandy: like we synchronized our vomiting.
- 1:02:29Charles: I think for me,
- 1:02:30Charles: it's when I was doing Alex Jones
- 1:02:32Charles: with the microphone on my nipple.
- 1:02:35Chris: (laughing)
- 1:02:35Mandy: Yes.
- 1:02:37Nora: It's a good one,
- 1:02:37Nora: good one.
- 1:02:38Mandy: I also am really fond of the actors
- 1:02:42Mandy: storming out with House of Leaves.
- 1:02:45Mandy: Also,
- 1:02:46Mandy: Nora downing two glizzies,
- 1:02:48Mandy: Dr. Pepper glizzies back to back, just housing them.
- 1:02:52Nora: Probably one of my favorite moments too
- 1:02:54Nora: I'm gonna start eating the second one.
- 1:02:56Nora: (laughing)
- 1:03:02Mandy: The look of terror in my eyes.
- 1:03:05Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:03:06Mandy: Like do we get hazard pay?
- 1:03:08Chris: It's really something to be bold.
- 1:03:09Chris: Oh God, it's even worse.
- 1:03:11Chris: (laughing)
- 1:03:13Nora: I'm just moving in camera two.
- 1:03:17Mandy: Lynn is requesting there be a clip of Mandy
- 1:03:19Mandy: 'cause there are none.
- 1:03:20Nora: I know, we do need more clips of Mandy in the show.
- 1:03:23Mandy: Just one of me in horror,
- 1:03:25Mandy: where they're like,
- 1:03:26Mandy: do we get hazard pay if I get a nipple in the eye?
- 1:03:29Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:03:30Chris: I mean, we do carry insurance,
- 1:03:32Chris: just for that reason.
- 1:03:34Chris: In case nipples go flying.
- 1:03:36Nora: Yeah, you know.
- 1:03:37Charles: We have a really good show,
- 1:03:38Charles: guys.
- 1:03:38Nora: I think, yeah, no, I think the double glizzy
- 1:03:41Nora: was probably one of my highlights.
- 1:03:42Nora: That was probably one of my best moments.
- 1:03:44Mandy: Yeah, the actor, do you have some?
- 1:03:46Chris: Yeah, I think the bit where I stormed out,
- 1:03:50Chris: because I wasn't gonna be there the next week,
- 1:03:52Chris: That was the whole idea.
- 1:03:53Charles: I think the follow up to that.
- 1:03:56Nora: Where you two were sitting in here.
- 1:03:57Charles: Yeah,
- 1:03:58Charles: and we did like the sit down
- 1:04:00Charles: YouTube apology ass shit.
- 1:04:02Chris: The YouTube apology was fun.
- 1:04:04Chris: I also particularly enjoyed the intro bit we filmed
- 1:04:08Chris: where I'm sleeping outside the studio.
- 1:04:11Chris: Which actually was outside the studio.
- 1:04:14Chris: Yeah, that was fun.
- 1:04:15Nora: And I like kicked him.
- 1:04:18Nora: I liked that part.
- 1:04:21Mandy: Charles, do you have favorites?
- 1:04:27Charles: The Met Galley one is a great episode.
- 1:04:31Charles: The me and Hatsune Miku,
- 1:04:33Charles: nobody else having dressed up.
- 1:04:36Nora: Any time you dress up and nobody else does,
- 1:04:39Nora: there's a good bit.
- 1:04:40Mandy: What about a shout out to Norie AI?
- 1:04:47Nora: I don't think she needs a shout out.
- 1:04:51Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:04:51Mandy: Does not make the cut.
- 1:04:52Nora: No.
- 1:04:53Nora: (laughing)
- 1:04:53Nora: Not a best of the show, maybe a worst of.
- 1:04:57Nora: (laughing)
- 1:04:58Nora: She sucks.
- 1:04:59Nora: (laughing)
- 1:05:00Charles: Oh God.
- 1:05:02Charles: (laughing)
- 1:05:06Chris: So I'm sure we explained it on the show at one point,
- 1:05:09Chris: but yeah, Nora and I was just there because
- 1:05:12Chris: Charles and I were the only ones who could be there that day
- 1:05:14Chris: and we knew that Charles needed someone
- 1:05:17Chris: to play off in the studio.
- 1:05:19Chris: And the way things are set up with all of our tech
- 1:05:23Chris: is that someone has to be in this room
- 1:05:25Chris: in order to run the show.
- 1:05:27Chris: So yeah, I was just like,
- 1:05:28Chris: well, what if we get a blow-up doll?
- 1:05:30Chris: And Charles says,
- 1:05:31Chris: (laughing)
- 1:05:31Chris: Charles says,
- 1:05:33Chris: "I don't think Nora's gonna be cool with that."
- 1:05:34Chris: And I said, "Nora, are you cool with that?"
- 1:05:35Chris: And she said, "Yeah."
- 1:05:36Charles: Sure, whatever.
- 1:05:37Mandy: It was consent.
- 1:05:38Chris: Yeah.
- 1:05:40Charles: The mouth,
- 1:05:42Charles: do you know what,
- 1:05:42Charles: did you ever feel the mouth of the blow-up doll?
- 1:05:44Charles: No,
- 1:05:44Charles: I don't mean to.
- 1:05:46Chris: The inside of the mouth was disturbing.
- 1:05:48Mandy: Things I don't want to know about.
- 1:05:49Mandy: I don't even want to know.
- 1:05:50Charles: It just feels like a balloon.
- 1:05:52Nora: That's-
- 1:05:52Charles: Like, what kind of gratification will you get from that?
- 1:05:57Chris: I did not check the other balloon area, though.
- 1:06:01Nora: Oh.
- 1:06:02Chris: 'Cause that would have been gross.
- 1:06:03Nora: Yeah.
- 1:06:04Mandy: Especially 'cause it's Norway.
- 1:06:05Nora: So do I get that dog cuddling shirt?
- 1:06:07Charles: No, that's my shirt, bitch.
- 1:06:09Charles: (laughing)
- 1:06:12Charles: No, not that. - Damn.
- 1:06:14Charles: (laughing)
- 1:06:15Nora: That is a Charles-
- 1:06:17Nora: (laughing)
- 1:06:19Charles: I brought that because I was like,
- 1:06:21Charles: this is something that Nora would wear.
- 1:06:23Charles: However,
- 1:06:25Charles: that's my fucking shirt.
- 1:06:26Charles: You do not talk about that shirt ever again.
- 1:06:29Charles: (laughing)
- 1:06:30Mandy: Can I do a shout out for another one?
- 1:06:32Mandy: The episode where I won the Marble League.
- 1:06:36Mandy: Yes.
- 1:06:36Nora: I was gonna say, that would be a highlight.
- 1:06:38Nora: I was thinking that would be a Mandy highlight
- 1:06:40Nora: of winning, actually winning for the first time ever.
- 1:06:44Nora: (laughing)
- 1:06:45Charles: It's gotta be something sourdough related.
- 1:06:47Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:06:48Mandy: yeah,
- 1:06:48Mandy: the time that Charles poisoned me.
- 1:06:51Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:06:53Charles: Yes, yes!
- 1:06:54Mandy: Where I'm like, oh my god, this tastes a little spicy.
- 1:06:56Mandy: Like, oh, it's good and a little peppery.
- 1:06:58Mandy: And like, oh my god.
- 1:06:59Nora: That's peppery.
- 1:07:00Nora: (laughing)
- 1:07:00Mandy: Oh my god.
- 1:07:01Nora: Did you put red pepper in there?
- 1:07:04Nora: Pinkies.
- 1:07:05Mandy: Yes, my pinkies.
- 1:07:06Nora: Yep.
- 1:07:08Chris: Mandy rocking her pinkies wear.
- 1:07:10Mandy: Yes.
- 1:07:12Mandy: Aw, some good times.
- 1:07:13Mandy: We had good times.
- 1:07:13Mandy: And I think we have,
- 1:07:14Mandy: I think that gives you enough ideas
- 1:07:17Mandy: to maybe redo the intro.
- 1:07:19Chris: Oh, absolutely.
- 1:07:20Chris: I had planned on updating the intro for this episode,
- 1:07:25Chris: but then I realized that I'm pretty sure
- 1:07:27Chris: I lost the project file.
- 1:07:29Chris: (laughing)
- 1:07:29Chris: So I have got to remake it from scratch.
- 1:07:33Charles: Let me do it, let me do it, let me do it, let me do it.
- 1:07:34Chris: No.
- 1:07:35Charles: I'll do it.
- 1:07:36Mandy: No.
- 1:07:37Nora: You each do one.
- 1:07:40Nora: No.
- 1:07:40Chris: Oh,
- 1:07:41Chris: that's a good idea.
- 1:07:42Nora: Great minds, Mandy, great minds.
- 1:07:43Charles: How about we all do one?
- 1:07:45Mandy: And then we all get sourdough afterwards.
- 1:07:46Nora: We all do one.
- 1:07:48Nora: You just want your work to look real good.
- 1:07:52Chris: So in honor of our birthday,
- 1:07:54Chris: I believe we have a special tasty treat.
- 1:07:56Chris: Oh yeah.
- 1:07:56Chris: Mandy, do you want to tell us about that?
- 1:07:58Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:07:58Mandy: the intern should be getting the cake.
- 1:08:00Mandy: We have a cake.
- 1:08:01Mandy: We have a cake.
- 1:08:03Mandy: Birthday cake.
- 1:08:04Mandy: I mean, what is a birthday without cake?
- 1:08:07Nora: Not a birthday.
- 1:08:08Mandy: Not a birthday.
- 1:08:09Nora: Not a birthday.
- 1:08:10Charles: Oh,
- 1:08:11Charles: the door is opening.
- 1:08:12Nora: I sense a delivery.
- 1:08:13Charles: Oh!
- 1:08:14Nora: This is very exciting.
- 1:08:16Charles: Beautiful,
- 1:08:16Charles: okay, here we go, here we go, here we go.
- 1:08:18Charles: All right, are you guys ready?
- 1:08:20Charles: My God.
- 1:08:21Nora: We're not gonna be able to hold it up
- 1:08:22Nora: to the second camera. Camera two, camera two.
- 1:08:25Nora: Camera, hold on.
- 1:08:26Nora: It's very scary.
- 1:08:28Nora: Well, there it is.
- 1:08:28Charles: It's too much.
- 1:08:30Nora: It's a lot to hold up on camera two.
- 1:08:32Charles: I can't really tilt it down, I can't really tilt it down.
- 1:08:34Nora: It says, "Vibe Check Live" right here.
- 1:08:36Mandy: Camera one.
- 1:08:37Nora: Yeah, right there,
- 1:08:38Nora: see it says, "Vibe Check Live."
- 1:08:40Nora: We don't want it to fall off, which is why we're being very protective of this cake.
- 1:08:44Nora: We also have...
- 1:08:45Chris: The sacred cake.
- 1:08:46Mandy: That we're gonna eat.
- 1:08:47Nora: Yes.
- 1:08:48Nora: Oh yes.
- 1:08:48Nora: Here we go.
- 1:08:49Mandy: The birthday cake!
- 1:08:50Nora: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:08:55Video: Wait, we have to show the candle.
- 1:08:58Mandy: Be gay,
- 1:08:59Mandy: do drugs,
- 1:09:00Mandy: hail Satan.
- 1:09:03Chris: I love that we now have Mandy on record saying "be gay."
- 1:09:06Video: Oh no!
- 1:09:07Video: Shit!
- 1:09:09Mandy: No!
- 1:09:10Nora: You're too sexy.
- 1:09:11Nora: Happy.
- 1:09:11Nora: Too sexy!
- 1:09:12Nora: Shit!
- 1:09:12Nora: Too sexy!
- 1:09:14Video: Birth, oh shit!
- 1:09:15Nora: Too sexy!
- 1:09:17Video: Day, dear,
- 1:09:17Video: vibe,
- 1:09:20Video: ja.
- 1:09:20Mandy: Now we're all gonna eat Charles' spit.
- 1:09:23Charles: It's too sexy, too sexy for my first time.
- 1:09:26Charles: (laughing)
- 1:09:28Nora: Happy birthday, everyone.
- 1:09:29Charles: Happy birthday.
- 1:09:30Mandy: Thank you for joining us on this adventure,
- 1:09:32Mandy: on our little journey.
- 1:09:34Mandy: Yay, cake.
- 1:09:35Nora: I'm actually gonna blow it out this time.
- 1:09:37Charles: We're gonna pass it back off.
- 1:09:38Nora: We're gonna,
- 1:09:39Nora: hold on,
- 1:09:40Nora: we're gonna pass it off.
- 1:09:40Chris: We're gonna pass it off.
- 1:09:41Nora: Or do you want us to cut it, was that the goal?
- 1:09:43Nora: Okay. - Us to cut it.
- 1:09:44Nora: I ain't gonna cut it.
- 1:09:44Nora: I will cut it.
- 1:09:45Nora: I got the finger.
- 1:09:46Charles: Wait, no, we have to do it.
- 1:09:48Chris: Hey guys, shut up.
- 1:09:49Chris: A special shout out to-
- 1:09:51Mandy: You can mute them.
- 1:09:52Chris: I can, oh, that's right.
- 1:09:54Chris: A special shout out to our unseen,
- 1:09:57Chris: unheard,
- 1:09:58Chris: all knowing,
- 1:09:59Chris: all lovely intern,
- 1:10:01Chris: whose name is a mystery even to us,
- 1:10:05Chris: who assists us in doing some of this wackiness.
- 1:10:09Chris: We love our intern and-
- 1:10:12Mandy: I think we only love our, oh,
- 1:10:14Mandy: I think we only love our intern if we can get some cake.
- 1:10:16Charles: Hold on.
- 1:10:17Charles: Cut back to us!
- 1:10:18Charles: (laughing)
- 1:10:19Chris: Okay.
- 1:10:20Charles: We salute you.
- 1:10:21Charles: (laughing)
- 1:10:22Chris: Yes!
- 1:10:23Chris: (laughing)
- 1:10:24Charles: All right,
- 1:10:24Charles: now cut back to us.
- 1:10:25Charles: We're gonna cut the cake.
- 1:10:26Charles: We're gonna cut it like a married couple.
- 1:10:28Mandy: Oh my God, feed it to each other too!
- 1:10:31Nora: Hold on,
- 1:10:31Charles: hold on, hold on.
- 1:10:32Charles: We have to hold it up too,
- 1:10:33Charles: so hold on, hold on.
- 1:10:34Nora: Oh, oh shit.
- 1:10:34Charles: Here's how we're gonna do this.
- 1:10:36Charles: We do this,
- 1:10:37Charles: and we're gonna do this.
- 1:10:38Mandy: Okay.
- 1:10:39Charles: Ready?
- 1:10:39Charles: Oh God,
- 1:10:41Charles: we're gonna fuck this up,
- 1:10:42Charles: guys.
- 1:10:42Charles: (laughing)
- 1:10:43Nora: I'm not even doing anything.
- 1:10:45Nora: (laughing)
- 1:10:48Nora: Incredible.
- 1:10:50Charles: Look at that slice.
- 1:10:52Charles: Look at that slice.
- 1:10:56Mandy: I think...
- 1:10:56Mandy: Are you not it?
- 1:10:58Mandy: You should beat each other the first fight,
- 1:11:00Mandy: too.
- 1:11:01Nora: That was scary,
- 1:11:02Nora: it was dangerous.
- 1:11:03Charles: You think we should take a married bite?
- 1:11:06Mandy: Yeah, like,
- 1:11:07Nora: Married?
- 1:11:08Nora: It's a cross-armed bite.
- 1:11:09Chris: Do it in camera two.
- 1:11:11Nora: Okay.
- 1:11:12Nora: There's also frosting on the bottom of this
- 1:11:14Nora: that I might eat. - Do some lady
- 1:11:14Chris: in the tramp business.
- 1:11:15Charles: I'm passing you guys off some slices first.
- 1:11:17Mandy: Yes,
- 1:11:17Mandy: 'cause mm, cake.
- 1:11:20Mandy: As on you for us.
- 1:11:21Chris: Mandy's only here for cake. - Slice.
- 1:11:22Mandy: I'm only here for cake.
- 1:11:24Nora: I do,
- 1:11:25Charles: I mean.
- 1:11:26Nora: Slice.
- 1:11:26Charles: And then we'll do-
- 1:11:27Nora: Cake is a great reason.
- 1:11:31Charles: Cake is a great reason.
- 1:11:36Charles: Slice and
- 1:11:40Charles: Slice look at that
- 1:11:43Chris: Impressive.
- 1:11:43Mandy: I see some elbow from my
- 1:11:47Charles: Elbow that was yours.
- 1:11:49Charles: I'll take this. Yeah, but what?
- 1:11:52Charles: You go. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Got you
- 1:11:55Chris: Folks are intern only communicates via a series of blinks.
- 1:11:58Chris: Yeah,
- 1:11:59Chris: which is and run can't hear them
- 1:12:01Charles: It was it was pointing at me angrily that I didn't cut enough slices.
- 1:12:07Mandy: Oh,
- 1:12:08Charles: not really not
- 1:12:10Charles: Okay
- 1:12:12Charles: It's like hand signals
- 1:12:18Nora: Come back to us Chris don't ruin it here.
- 1:12:21Mandy: Oh no,
- 1:12:22Nora: okay
- 1:12:24Charles: Sweet here's how we'll do the we'll do the wrap around
- 1:12:30Charles: wrap around
- 1:12:31Charles: No,
- 1:12:32Charles: here like this.
- 1:12:33Chris: Camera two.
- 1:12:34Charles: Here like this,
- 1:12:34Charles: wrap around.
- 1:12:35Charles: Wait, hold on,
- 1:12:36Charles: cut to us.
- 1:12:37Charles: Big camera.
- 1:12:38Mandy: Big camera, big camera.
- 1:12:40Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:12:44Nora: Romantic.
- 1:12:45Nora: I dropped cake on the floor.
- 1:12:47Charles: Delicious cake. - Eat it off the floor.
- 1:12:49Chris: Wait, does that mean that Mandy and I have to do the same?
- 1:12:51Chris: I know,
- 1:12:51Mandy: I feel like it does.
- 1:12:52Mandy: And I'm trying furiously to stab some cake and losing it.
- 1:12:56Mandy: Here, hang on.
- 1:12:57Mandy: Okay,
- 1:12:57Mandy: your camera or my camera?
- 1:12:59Chris: Yours. - No, okay.
- 1:13:00Mandy: First time.
- 1:13:02Nora: Chris's camera.
- 1:13:04Nora: There it goes, there it goes.
- 1:13:05Nora: No, you gotta feed yourself.
- 1:13:06Nora: Feed yourself,
- 1:13:07Nora: feed yourself.
- 1:13:08Charles: Yeah!
- 1:13:10Charles: I'm the only one that's been married.
- 1:13:13Charles: Yeah!
- 1:13:13Mandy: I'm the only one that's been married.
- 1:13:15Mandy: I should know how this works.
- 1:13:17Chris: You're married enough for all of us, baby.
- 1:13:19Mandy: I am.
- 1:13:19Nora: It's true.
- 1:13:20Nora: (laughing)
- 1:13:24Chris: Happy birthday,
- 1:13:25Chris: everybody.
- 1:13:26Chris: Oh,
- 1:13:26Mandy: yum, it's so good.
- 1:13:26Nora: Now if only I had a Gas Ferry.
- 1:13:30Charles: Yummy, yummy,
- 1:13:30Charles: in my tummy.
- 1:13:31Chris: That's really good.
- 1:13:32Mandy: Is it good?
- 1:13:33Charles: Yeah.
- 1:13:33Nora: Mm-hmm, good cake. - I told you.
- 1:13:35Chris: Shout out to our evil overlords
- 1:13:37Chris: at a particular Walmart.
- 1:13:38Chris: Yep,
- 1:13:39Mandy: it's just that one.
- 1:13:39Chris: They do really good work.
- 1:13:42Charles: One very specific Walmart does very good,
- 1:13:44Charles: very good cake work, apparently.
- 1:13:48Charles: I wanna show you guys,
- 1:13:49Charles: real quick,
- 1:13:50Charles: before we do Twilight, can I show you guys
- 1:13:52Charles: the actual music number from that thing?
- 1:13:54Charles: I found it.
- 1:13:55Chris: Yeah.
- 1:13:56Charles: You can cut to my screen and turn up the audio.
- 1:14:08Nora: >> What rhyme
- 1:14:30Chris: That's Sting?
- 1:14:31Charles: No, it's the old gods of Asgard,
- 1:14:34Charles: the band.
- 1:14:36Chris: Featuring Sting.
- 1:14:39Mandy: I heard Charles really likes mouth noises
- 1:14:42Mandy: when you're eating.
- 1:14:44Charles: Yeah.
- 1:14:50Charles: Hell yeah.
- 1:14:51Nora: Nice.
- 1:14:52Charles: Hell yeah.
- 1:14:54Charles: Okay,
- 1:14:54Charles: so that's...
- 1:14:58Charles: That's the kind of shit I'm into.
- 1:15:00Charles: (laughing)
- 1:15:01Chris: So y'all,
- 1:15:02Chris: speaking of things we're not into,
- 1:15:04Chris: we watched Twilight Eclipse.
- 1:15:07Chris: (laughing)
- 1:15:09Chris: What are everybody's thoughts?
- 1:15:11Charles: Well,
- 1:15:12Charles: before we do that,
- 1:15:14Charles: before we get into thoughts,
- 1:15:16Charles: let's talk about what Twilight Eclipse is.
- 1:15:19Nora: It's more of the story that is contrived
- 1:15:22Nora: because Stephanie got a book deal.
- 1:15:24Charles: The Twilight Saga Eclipse is a 2010
- 1:15:27Charles: American romantic fantasy film directed by David Slade
- 1:15:31Charles: from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg
- 1:15:33Charles: based on the 2007 novel "Eclipse"
- 1:15:35Charles: by Stephanie Meyer.
- 1:15:37Charles: It is a sequel to "Twilight, New Moon"
- 1:15:39Charles: and the third installment in the "Twilight Saga"
- 1:15:41Charles: film series.
- 1:15:42Charles: The film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson,
- 1:15:44Charles: Taylor Lautner, it's the role of Bella,
- 1:15:45Charles: Edward,
- 1:15:46Charles: Jacob,
- 1:15:46Charles: respectively.
- 1:15:47Charles: Bryce Dallas Howard joins the cast
- 1:15:49Charles: as returning character Victoria,
- 1:15:51Charles: replacing Rochelle LaFarve,
- 1:15:54Charles: is that the word?
- 1:15:54Nora: LaFib.
- 1:15:56Charles: from the first two films.
- 1:15:58Charles: Bella further explores her relationships
- 1:16:00Charles: with both Edward and Jacob as the threat
- 1:16:03Charles: of an army of newborn vampires looms
- 1:16:05Charles: over the possibility of an alliance being formed
- 1:16:07Charles: between werewolves and vampires.
- 1:16:14Charles: So.
- 1:16:14Chris: So it's the middle book in the series
- 1:16:18Chris: and it feels very much like a middle book.
- 1:16:22Nora: Yeah.
- 1:16:23Chris: I mean, or middle movie, I suppose,
- 1:16:24Chris: because there's five movies for four books.
- 1:16:26Charles: Right, it feels like a setup for a finale,
- 1:16:29Charles: which it literally is.
- 1:16:30Charles: Yeah,
- 1:16:30Chris: it's the second act
- 1:16:31Chris: where not a lot seems to happen.
- 1:16:34Chris: It,
- 1:16:35Chris: to me,
- 1:16:35Chris: felt like two hours of middling around
- 1:16:39Chris: and then like five minutes of cool and then credits.
- 1:16:41Nora: Yeah.
- 1:16:42Charles: What was the cool?
- 1:16:44Chris: I honestly thought that the fight
- 1:16:46Chris: between the vampires and the wolves was,
- 1:16:48Chris: and well, the vampire coven,
- 1:16:51Chris: the Cullens versus the like shitty vampires,
- 1:16:54Chris: whatever they were called,
- 1:16:55Chris: the newborns.
- 1:16:57Chris: I thought that that fight was well done.
- 1:17:00Charles: I thought it was weird that they cut off
- 1:17:04Charles: Bryce Dallas Howard's head and it was like stone?
- 1:17:07Charles: Is that the thing?
- 1:17:09Charles: That their body is also stone?
- 1:17:12Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:17:12Mandy: so canonically,
- 1:17:14Mandy: when they do things,
- 1:17:16Mandy: it makes clinking noises and canonically,
- 1:17:19Mandy: when they kiss, it sounds like china hitting each other,
- 1:17:22Mandy: like dishes hitting each other.
- 1:17:25Mandy: So that's an entertaining thought for the next movie.
- 1:17:27Nora: Yeah.
- 1:17:29Mandy: I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:17:30Nora: The clanking.
- 1:17:31Charles: They're gonna be clanking around.
- 1:17:33Mandy: There's gonna be a lot of clanking,
- 1:17:34Mandy: baby,
- 1:17:34Mandy: tonight.
- 1:17:35Nora: There was less moaning during the kissing,
- 1:17:37Nora: which I appreciated.
- 1:17:40Nora: Taylor Lautner was not objectively a child in this movie,
- 1:17:43Nora: so I did like that as well.
- 1:17:48Nora: 'Cause he was 16 when they filmed the last one,
- 1:17:52Nora: and he was just a baby.
- 1:17:53Nora: Keanu Reeves?
- 1:17:55Nora: What? - What?
- 1:17:56Charles: No, it just looks like Keanu Reeves for a second there.
- 1:17:57Charles: Oh,
- 1:17:58Nora: okay.
- 1:17:59Chris: I might need to check your prescription.
- 1:18:01Nora: I kinda liked Jasper becoming more of a character,
- 1:18:05Nora: although why did he have to be Confederate?
- 1:18:07Charles: Okay,
- 1:18:08Charles: he's a Confederate soldier from the South,
- 1:18:11Charles: and he has not a Southern accent,
- 1:18:15Charles: except for like a couple moments.
- 1:18:16Charles: Malated. - Malated.
- 1:18:17Charles: (laughing)
- 1:18:21Charles: I'm like,
- 1:18:22Charles: what is going on?
- 1:18:23Charles: (laughing)
- 1:18:24Mandy: So the issue is that she made him a Confederate soldier,
- 1:18:30Mandy: but never,
- 1:18:31Mandy: but like he volunteered to fight for the South.
- 1:18:33Nora: Right,
- 1:18:34Nora: like why did he have to be a Confederate,
- 1:18:36Nora: Stephanie?
- 1:18:37Nora: Stephanie made that decision.
- 1:18:39Nora: It didn't have to be that decision.
- 1:18:41Charles: Right.
- 1:18:42Chris: Can you talk more about how shitty
- 1:18:44Chris: Bryce Dallas Howard is as an actor?
- 1:18:47Chris: (laughing)
- 1:18:48Nora: I could do that too.
- 1:18:51Chris: I have seen several movies with her in them
- 1:18:54Chris: and she is terrible in all of them.
- 1:18:57Chris: I would give her a pass on this one
- 1:19:00Chris: because I know it's not the greatest material to start with.
- 1:19:03Mandy: Or it's the best.
- 1:19:04Chris: She's literally terrible in everything.
- 1:19:08Nora: In this movie,
- 1:19:11Nora: Edward definitely cares a lot less,
- 1:19:13Nora: just like him as an actor,
- 1:19:14Nora: 'cause you can hear his British accent slip through
- 1:19:17Nora: like a lot more.
- 1:19:18Chris: I did notice that a couple times.
- 1:19:18Nora: Like a lot more.
- 1:19:20Nora: Like the first two movies, he was like watching the accent.
- 1:19:23Nora: He does not care in this one anymore.
- 1:19:25Mandy: Let's just say the pop culture clips
- 1:19:27Mandy: for next week should be spectacular.
- 1:19:29Mandy: I struggled with this week because there's nothing in it.
- 1:19:31Mandy: Like there's nothing like in it that happens in the movie
- 1:19:35Mandy: that people like, it's quotable.
- 1:19:36Charles: The only-
- 1:19:36Nora: The big thing is the kiss.
- 1:19:38Nora: Right.
- 1:19:38Nora: Like that's the big thing.
- 1:19:39Charles: But like even then,
- 1:19:42Charles: right?
- 1:19:42Charles: Like we still talk about,
- 1:19:44Charles: by the way.
- 1:19:46Mandy: That nice.
- 1:19:47Nora: The 14 year old on your t-shirt.
- 1:19:49Nora: (laughing)
- 1:19:50Chris: For the listeners,
- 1:19:51Chris: Charles,
- 1:19:51Chris: what does it say?
- 1:19:52Charles: It says,
- 1:19:53Charles: Bella,
- 1:19:54Charles: where the hell you been, loca?
- 1:19:56Nora: So forced.
- 1:20:01Charles: So the kiss came out of nowhere.
- 1:20:07Charles: And even then it doesn't feel like a love triangle.
- 1:20:11Charles: it still feels like she's going to go with Edward
- 1:20:19Charles: just with a random kiss with Jacob to piss off Edward.
- 1:20:25Charles: What was the purpose of it?
- 1:20:27Mandy: He was gonna go kill himself in the fight
- 1:20:30Mandy: unless he stayed and he's like,
- 1:20:31Mandy: well give me something to stay for, not manipulative.
- 1:20:34Mandy: And she's like, here,
- 1:20:35Mandy: I'll kiss you, I love you,
- 1:20:36Mandy: don't leave me.
- 1:20:38Chris: Yeah, it does feel forced, but it feels forced
- 1:20:41Chris: in like,
- 1:20:42Chris: in an extra awkward way,
- 1:20:44Chris: because it does seem like she's still not really sure.
- 1:20:50Chris: She's just-- - That's called
- 1:20:51Nora: coercive control.
- 1:20:52Mandy: Yeah, I do agree with that one.
- 1:20:53Chris: (laughing)
- 1:20:54Chris: Exactly.
- 1:20:56Chris: I don't know,
- 1:20:57Chris: I-
- 1:20:57Mandy: So the first kiss was non-consensual.
- 1:21:00Mandy: Was the second one?
- 1:21:01Nora: No.
- 1:21:02Chris: I mean,
- 1:21:03Chris: she did tell him to kiss her,
- 1:21:06Chris: but he did,
- 1:21:08Chris: you could make a case that he manipulated her.
- 1:21:10Nora: Yep. - Coercive.
- 1:21:11Nora: Coercive control.
- 1:21:12Nora: Yeah.
- 1:21:13Mandy: So what I think is interesting is online,
- 1:21:15Mandy: people are really divided,
- 1:21:17Mandy: where half the people are like,
- 1:21:18Mandy: "Oh my God, this is the worst placeholder ever,
- 1:21:20Mandy: "please,
- 1:21:21Mandy: oh my God, I skip over this one."
- 1:21:22Mandy: And then other people say that this is the one
- 1:21:25Mandy: that has the most plot line
- 1:21:26Mandy: that follows the standard story arc
- 1:21:29Mandy: than any of the other movies.
- 1:21:34Mandy: Yeah. - Still.
- 1:21:35Charles: Still.
- 1:21:37Nora: The only reason it exists is because
- 1:21:39Nora: Stephanie got a four book deal instead of a two book deal.
- 1:21:41Mandy: You keep saying that, but I don't know that,
- 1:21:44Mandy: is that?
- 1:21:45Nora: It's just, so the story started as just,
- 1:21:47Nora: she wrote it just the first and the last book.
- 1:21:49Mandy: I mean, no, no, I know people say that,
- 1:21:51Mandy: like that's all over the internet,
- 1:21:52Mandy: but I don't know that that's been,
- 1:21:54Mandy: like that's for reals.
- 1:21:55Mandy: I know that that's like,
- 1:21:56Mandy: everyone says that on the internet.
- 1:21:58Nora: From my Twilight reference that I,
- 1:22:01Nora: This this my friend Megan,
- 1:22:04Nora: shout out to Megan from book club.
- 1:22:06Nora: I
- 1:22:06Nora: trust everything she says about Twilight.
- 1:22:08Nora: She's Twilight obsessed.
- 1:22:10Nora: She's read all the books.
- 1:22:11Nora: She's
- 1:22:11Charles: but Mandy has to.
- 1:22:14Charles: So have I I read all the books.
- 1:22:15Nora: I believe Megan.
- 1:22:17Nora: I trust Megan.
- 1:22:19Nora: And the way that the stories
- 1:22:20Nora: feel women,
- 1:22:21Nora: that's the two story the way that the the way that
- 1:22:24Nora: the love story with Jacob is just like,
- 1:22:28Nora: interjected into the
- 1:22:29Nora: middle of the story feels so forced to me.
- 1:22:35Nora: But I can't spoilers.
- 1:22:38Mandy: I can't, I can't spoilers.
- 1:22:39Nora: And I do understand that,
- 1:22:40Nora: but like I,
- 1:22:43Nora: I,
- 1:22:44Nora: it's not for me,
- 1:22:45Nora: right?
- 1:22:45Nora: Like I-
- 1:22:45Mandy: No, that's fair.
- 1:22:46Mandy: I don't know that it should be for most of us.
- 1:22:48Nora: I know,
- 1:22:49Nora: I know.
- 1:22:49Charles: Okay,
- 1:22:50Charles: so there is-
- 1:22:50Mandy: I'm not walking a twilight, oh,
- 1:22:52Mandy: I am.
- 1:22:53Charles: The contract was originally,
- 1:22:54Charles: the contract was originally for a three book deal,
- 1:22:58Charles: then it got pushed to a four book deal.
- 1:23:00Nora: So that story was expanded in the middle.
- 1:23:02Chris: But that could have,
- 1:23:03Chris: to be,
- 1:23:04Chris: granted I have no dog in this fight,
- 1:23:05Chris: but like, or no wolf in this fight,
- 1:23:08Chris: but it's also possible that she was given a larger deal
- 1:23:12Chris: because she said, "Hey, I've got more story to tell."
- 1:23:15Chris: One doesn't necessarily cause the other
- 1:23:17Chris: unless there's a like specific source
- 1:23:20Chris: that says that it did.
- 1:23:21Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:23:22Nora: I do love giving authors the benefit of the doubt,
- 1:23:24Nora: but that's Stephanie Meyer.
- 1:23:26Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:23:28Chris: Aren't these the only books she's ever written?
- 1:23:29Mandy: No, she did The Host,
- 1:23:32Mandy: which was an awesome movie.
- 1:23:33Chris: Oh,
- 1:23:34Chris: okay.
- 1:23:35Nora: Yeah,
- 1:23:36Nora: I don't know.
- 1:23:37Chris: Now see,
- 1:23:38Chris: okay.
- 1:23:38Nora: I'm just gonna talk shit about Mormons
- 1:23:39Nora: and that's just gonna be how I exist.
- 1:23:41Nora: So,
- 1:23:42Nora: there's just a lot that I say.
- 1:23:43Chris: I asked an anonymous AI,
- 1:23:47Chris: and I said, "Is the reason Twilight Eclipse exists
- 1:23:50Chris: "due to the book deal that Stephanie Meyer received?"
- 1:23:52Chris: And according to GPT,
- 1:23:54Chris: partly but not exactly,
- 1:23:56Chris: her original contract was a three book deal.
- 1:23:59Nora: Charles just said that, yeah.
- 1:24:00Chris: Yeah,
- 1:24:00Chris: Twilight, New Moon, and what became Eclipse.
- 1:24:03Chris: So the deal created a professional obligation
- 1:24:05Chris: and opportunity for her to write Eclipse.
- 1:24:07Chris: However, she had already conceived the story
- 1:24:09Chris: as something larger than one novel.
- 1:24:11Chris: She continued writing Twilight
- 1:24:13Chris: because she wasn't ready to let the story end.
- 1:24:15Chris: The contract was a result of the story she had begun,
- 1:24:18Chris: not the original reason the story existed.
- 1:24:21Chris: Eclipse was initially intended to be the final book because of that three book deal.
- 1:24:26Chris: Afterward, the publishing arrangement was expanded to four books,
- 1:24:29Chris: allowing her to write Breaking Dawn as the conclusion.
- 1:24:32Nora: I also fundamentally have problems with these vampires because they're not traditional vampires.
- 1:24:40Mandy: They're sparkly.
- 1:24:41Nora: In like other,
- 1:24:42Nora: like literature.
- 1:24:44Charles: Doesn't have to, okay.
- 1:24:45Charles: I disagree with you there.
- 1:24:47Charles: Because you can make different things.
- 1:24:50Charles: Different things can exist.
- 1:24:51Charles: And I know you're like.
- 1:24:52Nora: It's true,
- 1:24:52Nora: it's true, but I don't like these vampires.
- 1:24:55Charles: That's fair.
- 1:24:55Charles: That's valid.
- 1:24:56Charles: That's why.
- 1:24:56Nora: I just think they're,
- 1:24:58Nora: the story is contrived and icky.
- 1:24:59Mandy: Yeah, that's fair.
- 1:25:01Mandy: That's half the fun.
- 1:25:01Nora: And I prefer far more fucked up vampire stories,
- 1:25:05Nora: I guess is like where I like to go with vampires.
- 1:25:08Mandy: If this was good and like the writing was stellar
- 1:25:10Mandy: and the movies were amazing, we wouldn't be doing this.
- 1:25:13Nora: I know.
- 1:25:14Nora: Sorry, interrupted you.
- 1:25:16Charles: I don't remember what I was gonna say.
- 1:25:17Charles: Okay.
- 1:25:18Nora: Like I just don't like these vampires,
- 1:25:19Nora: but I'm like, I get the fact that like,
- 1:25:22Nora: your, Stephanie's version of a vampire
- 1:25:24Nora: doesn't have to be a traditional vampire,
- 1:25:25Nora: but like it loses the power of the fear of vampires
- 1:25:30Nora: And like vampires are meant to be scary for a reason
- 1:25:34Charles: You don't have to be scary a lot of people love
- 1:25:38Charles: There is a type of person we've discussed this on multiple occasions on the show
- 1:25:43Charles: There's a type of person called the monster fucker.
- 1:25:46Charles: Yeah, they love they love that kind of that kind of
- 1:25:51Charles: of content
- 1:25:53Mandy: Badly rated can we be on this show I mean go go ham okay next week. I'll bring some
- 1:25:59Mandy: Some horrifying things that go along with that.
- 1:26:02Charles: Yeah
- 1:26:05Nora: Yeah, yeah cool I think what we run into is the romance genre versus my
- 1:26:11Nora: Aromantic state.
- 1:26:12Nora: Yeah is quite
- 1:26:15Nora: the heads a little bit and I
- 1:26:17Nora: Don't usually engage in this content
- 1:26:21Mandy: I
- 1:26:24Mandy: Don't know that the romance is what does it for me like
- 1:26:27Charles: He's not a good bromance.
- 1:26:29Mandy: I happily read romance.
- 1:26:31Mandy: I happily read romance.
- 1:26:32Mandy: I happily read smut.
- 1:26:33Mandy: Like I'm down with it all,
- 1:26:35Mandy: but this is 'cause it's bad.
- 1:26:38Chris: To be fair,
- 1:26:40Chris: if vampires are supposed to be scary,
- 1:26:43Chris: explain how this exists.
- 1:26:45Charles: I just watched this movie the other week.
- 1:26:48Chris: Yeah, this is the trailer for Dracula, Dead and Loving It
- 1:26:52Chris: starring Leslie Nielsen.
- 1:26:54Chris: This is a comedy horror classic.
- 1:26:59Chris: If you wanna see a bumbling old man play Dracula
- 1:27:02Chris: in only a way that Mel Brooks can conceive,
- 1:27:05Chris: this is a great time.
- 1:27:06Mandy: What about that one that was the vampire in Harlem?
- 1:27:09Chris: Oh, Vampire in Brooklyn with Eddie Murphy.
- 1:27:11Chris: Yeah,
- 1:27:12Mandy: that one too.
- 1:27:13Nora: See, I just go the full horror route
- 1:27:15Nora: and I've read Carmilla,
- 1:27:18Nora: I've read
- 1:27:21Nora: Bury the bones in midnight soil.
- 1:27:24Nora: That's a VE Schwab gay vampires gay vampires
- 1:27:29Nora: That one wasn't bad
- 1:27:31Nora: But I like I mean I like good books
- 1:27:38Charles: Chris
- 1:27:39Charles: It keeps popping up in your to watch which is that hour of silence occasionally broken up by random Michael Jackson
- 1:27:48Chris: I am NOT signed into this. Uh-huh.
- 1:27:52Mandy: Sure.
- 1:27:52Chris: See in the corner?
- 1:27:54Chris: I'm not signed in
- 1:27:55Nora: You could just always play that if you wanted to.
- 1:27:57Charles: So,
- 1:27:57Charles: but it's recommended to you and I think you have to do it
- 1:28:01Chris: I think I don't I think I just need to pause on this Eddie Murphy still for the rest of the show
- 1:28:07Charles: It's also not Michael Jackson's face
- 1:28:11Nora: That is AI.
- 1:28:12Charles: It looks like the you guys have no idea who this person is.
- 1:28:16Charles: I show speed
- 1:28:18Chris: Oh,
- 1:28:18Chris: I unfortunately know who that is.
- 1:28:20Charles: No,
- 1:28:20Charles: it does look a little bit like him.
- 1:28:22Chris: Okay, so what's our number rating on Eclipse then?
- 1:28:26Charles: This was a five,
- 1:28:28Charles: that I liked like a five.
- 1:28:31Charles: (laughing)
- 1:28:32Chris: It's a five in five's clothing?
- 1:28:34Charles: Yeah.
- 1:28:35Nora: It's like a four.
- 1:28:38Mandy: Maybe a three,
- 1:28:40Mandy: is that bad?
- 1:28:42Mandy: Three,
- 1:28:42Mandy: five,
- 1:28:42Mandy: it's all bad,
- 1:28:44Mandy: it's just what level of bad?
- 1:28:45Mandy: I can,
- 1:28:46Mandy: it's not as funny as the other ones,
- 1:28:48Mandy: so.
- 1:28:48Charles: Yeah,
- 1:28:48Charles: exactly.
- 1:28:49Charles: The other ones are so funny.
- 1:28:50Charles: And then this next one gets.
- 1:28:53Chris: I will say there. - I can't wait.
- 1:28:54Chris: There are some really funny moments in this one
- 1:28:58Chris: that literally made me laugh out loud.
- 1:29:00Chris: When he has to,
- 1:29:01Chris: when Jacob has to get in the tent
- 1:29:06Chris: with Bella to keep her water.
- 1:29:08Chris: (laughing)
- 1:29:09Chris: Hey, that's fair. - You're right.
- 1:29:11Chris: That's fair.
- 1:29:11Chris: He looks at Edward with this very gay look
- 1:29:14Chris: and he says,
- 1:29:15Chris: "I'm hotter than you, you know."
- 1:29:17Chris: (laughing)
- 1:29:18Chris: No, you're right,
- 1:29:19Chris: you're right.
- 1:29:19Chris: That was amazing.
- 1:29:21Chris: I gaffawed.
- 1:29:23Mandy: I'm bumping it up to a five, a solid five for that.
- 1:29:27Mandy: Good point, thank you.
- 1:29:28Chris: There's also,
- 1:29:29Chris: when he kind of like,
- 1:29:30Chris: nustles up next to her after he gets in the sleeping bag,
- 1:29:34Chris: you can see him kind of just do like,
- 1:29:35Chris: just a teeny little baby thrust.
- 1:29:37Chris: Ah, Chyren, no,
- 1:29:38Chris: no!
- 1:29:40Chris: (laughing)
- 1:29:41Chris: And then he looks at her and says,
- 1:29:44Chris: "This would be easier if your clothes were off."
- 1:29:48Chris: (laughing)
- 1:29:49Chris: On that basis alone,
- 1:29:51Chris: I'm giving it a six.
- 1:29:53Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:29:53Mandy: yeah,
- 1:29:54Mandy: I'm with you on that.
- 1:29:56Nora: I got the willies the first time I watched it
- 1:29:58Nora: and I got the willies again just now.
- 1:30:00Charles: Do you guys know, do you know what happens
- 1:30:02Charles: in this next movie?
- 1:30:04Chris: No idea whatsoever.
- 1:30:05Mandy: Don't spoil it!
- 1:30:07Nora: Or the second Breaking Dawn.
- 1:30:08Mandy: Neither,
- 1:30:08Mandy: don't spoil it.
- 1:30:09Charles: No, I'm not saying,
- 1:30:10Charles: don't, just,
- 1:30:11Charles: It's a yes or no question.
- 1:30:12Chris: No.
- 1:30:13Mandy: I don't think Nora's capable of that.
- 1:30:15Nora: I mean, I know the one big thing at the end.
- 1:30:19Nora: That's the one thing that like...
- 1:30:20Charles: You have no idea.
- 1:30:22Mandy: I can't wait.
- 1:30:23Charles: I cannot wait.
- 1:30:25Mandy: I can't wait.
- 1:30:25Charles: We are filming our reactions to it too.
- 1:30:28Chris: That's right.
- 1:30:29Mandy: Okay, well we're wearing PJs and eating garbage.
- 1:30:32Mandy: So get pee prepared.
- 1:30:34Charles: Yeah,
- 1:30:34Charles: it's gonna be great.
- 1:30:36Charles: I'm so...
- 1:30:37Charles: I will be very high to get through it.
- 1:30:40Nora: I will be.
- 1:30:41Charles: But you have to pay attention.
- 1:30:43Nora: I'll try.
- 1:30:44Charles: No it's not a try.
- 1:30:45Charles: You can't be too high
- 1:30:47Charles: to enjoy the movie.
- 1:30:49Nora: You are requiring that I am there. That's all I can promise you.
- 1:30:53Nora: I could be there for that amount of time if I pay attention.
- 1:30:55Charles: That's some bullshit. I
- 1:30:57Nora: cannot guarantee that I can pay attention for that long.
- 1:31:00Nora: I can barely pay attention for one movie.
- 1:31:05Nora: Pay attention for even one movie and now I have to watch it again?
- 1:31:08Charles: That's some shit,
- 1:31:09Charles: dog.
- 1:31:09Charles: You can do this. I trust in you.
- 1:31:11Charles: Look,
- 1:31:12Charles: we are a delight.
- 1:31:13Mandy: We are a delight and you just get to spend the afternoon with us.
- 1:31:16Charles: Right.
- 1:31:17Charles: We're gonna have a delightful time.
- 1:31:19Mandy: And puppies.
- 1:31:20Mandy: Lots of puppies.
- 1:31:22Mandy: So many puppies.
- 1:31:23Mandy: Oh my god, somebody stop me.
- 1:31:24Chris: Yeah, puppies and food and friends and love and pajamas.
- 1:31:28Nora: I know, but it means I don't get to hang out with my puppy.
- 1:31:32Mandy: My god!
- 1:31:33Chris: I mean, bring your puppy.
- 1:31:35Chris: No,
- 1:31:35Nora: dog. - No.
- 1:31:37Mandy: My dogs are real annoying. - No.
- 1:31:39Nora: My dog would start a fight with those dogs like that.
- 1:31:42Chris: In limited capacities.
- 1:31:45Mandy: I agree, and I live with them.
- 1:31:47Nora: My dog would start a fight with them on site.
- 1:31:50Nora: (laughing)
- 1:31:51Nora: And I don't want that.
- 1:31:52Nora: I don't want that at all.
- 1:31:53Mandy: The puppy should be a clip on the opening.
- 1:31:55Chris: Oh, that's right.
- 1:31:56Chris: We didn't even talk about the episode
- 1:31:59Chris: where the puppies guest hosted.
- 1:32:01Mandy: They did so well.
- 1:32:02Nora: That's another great moment. - I'm gonna bring the puppies in.
- 1:32:05Mandy: They did really well.
- 1:32:07Chris: We've lost Nora, she's just not-
- 1:32:09Chris: I just,
- 1:32:09Mandy: look, I understand you don't wanna sit still
- 1:32:11Mandy: for four hours,
- 1:32:12Mandy: I'm not great at that either.
- 1:32:14Mandy: I'm gonna take breaks. - But it's different
- 1:32:16Mandy: when you're with friends that you love.
- 1:32:18Nora: I know,
- 1:32:19Nora: I know.
- 1:32:20Nora: I just am not good at watching movies for that long.
- 1:32:23Mandy: Me neither,
- 1:32:23Mandy: but knitting,
- 1:32:25Mandy: food breaks.
- 1:32:26Charles: We're gonna take breaks.
- 1:32:28Nora: That's why it's gonna be six hours.
- 1:32:30Chris: Lots of rest going on. - No, it's not.
- 1:32:31Charles: I've got to be six hours
- 1:32:33Mandy: You don't get to count the time that we break and the time that we have like dinner as part of those six hours
- 1:32:40Chris: right I
- 1:32:41Chris: Think we're gonna get through it together and it's gonna be a good time
- 1:32:44Nora: I'm just nervous because my energy level is about three hours.
- 1:32:48Nora: That's what I have energy for most weekends.
- 1:32:51Nora: And so
- 1:32:53Nora: You're asking a lot for me.
- 1:32:55Charles: We can push it a little bit.
- 1:32:56Nora: You got this. You're asking a lot for me.
- 1:32:58Charles: Yeah, so
- 1:33:00Nora: With that being said, Tia and Nessie.
- 1:33:02Mandy: I went to Denver for a wrestling match.
- 1:33:05Mandy: Like Denver on a Friday night with the two hour traffic.
- 1:33:08Chris: Girl,
- 1:33:08Nora: I was there.
- 1:33:09Mandy: Ew, I got splattered on me.
- 1:33:11Nora: I'm still like recovering,
- 1:33:13Nora: that's why.
- 1:33:14Nora: (laughing)
- 1:33:15Mandy: So like, if I can do that, you can do this
- 1:33:18Mandy: in my nice comfy house with my babies.
- 1:33:20Chris: Tell you what, Nora,
- 1:33:21Chris: let's split it down the middle.
- 1:33:23Chris: If you feel your energy level or your interest level
- 1:33:27Chris: like seriously waning and you need to bounce,
- 1:33:32Chris: you can bounce.
- 1:33:33Nora: Here's the thing,
- 1:33:34Nora: I'd rather watch the second one though.
- 1:33:37Charles: This is true.
- 1:33:38Nora: Like I'd rather watch the second with you guys.
- 1:33:40Nora: Like that's where,
- 1:33:41Nora: that's like what it,
- 1:33:43Nora: and like I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass.
- 1:33:44Nora: I'm just trying to be a pleasant and fun person
- 1:33:48Nora: around you guys when we're actually there
- 1:33:52Nora: because I know that this is gonna take a lot out of me.
- 1:33:55Charles: Okay,
- 1:33:56Charles: well then how about this?
- 1:33:57Charles: How about this?
- 1:33:59Charles: How about we put together a more specific schedule and you can show up late and you can watch the first part on your own terms?
- 1:34:07Nora: I will happily do that.
- 1:34:08Charles: Would that be a good...
- 1:34:10Nora: Happy.
- 1:34:11Nora: I will happily do that.
- 1:34:12Chris: Okay, so...
- 1:34:12Nora: I just can really only watch one movie at a time. That's really a maximum for me.
- 1:34:16Chris: You know what? I would not want you to do something that would make you uncomfortable.
- 1:34:20Nora: Because like it really like my gut reaction was like I can't watch two movies in a row
- 1:34:26Nora: Even if it is with people that I love but I will happily join halfway through does everybody feel
- 1:34:33Chris: I'm okay with that
- 1:34:35Charles: Hey Mandy,
- 1:34:37Mandy: look do I get my time back for being in that car?
- 1:34:41Chris: That is that is
- 1:34:43Chris: That is diminishing returns.
- 1:34:45Chris: What's the what's the thing that that's sunk costs?
- 1:34:48Charles: Cost fallacy.
- 1:34:49Charles: Cost fallacy.
- 1:34:50Charles: Mm-hmm.
- 1:34:50Chris: Those costs are going on.
- 1:34:51Nora: I really do appreciate,
- 1:34:52Nora: like I want to watch them with you guys.
- 1:34:54Charles: Oh no you don't.
- 1:34:55Mandy: Lynn feels like this conversation could've been an email.
- 1:34:58Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:34:59Nora: I tried to start it last week.
- 1:35:00Chris: Emails don't make good television.
- 1:35:03Chris: But arguing does.
- 1:35:04Mandy: I feel like Lynn's saying that this doesn't either.
- 1:35:07Mandy: Well.
- 1:35:08Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:35:11Chris: Anyway folks,
- 1:35:13Chris: this has been our birthday episode.
- 1:35:14Chris: Thank you so much for joining us.
- 1:35:16Chris: We had a great time.
- 1:35:17Chris: We hope you did,
- 1:35:19Chris: too.
- 1:35:20Chris: We do this every week,
- 1:35:21Chris: except for the weeks that we don't.
- 1:35:23Chris: Charles?
- 1:35:25Charles: That's very true.
- 1:35:27Charles: We did, OK,
- 1:35:28Charles: 40 episodes in a year.
- 1:35:30Nora: That's pretty damn good.
- 1:35:31Charles: That's a pretty good,
- 1:35:33Charles: like, on rather than off.
- 1:35:36Chris: Absolutely.
- 1:35:36Charles: We're on more than we're not.
- 1:35:38Nora: True.
- 1:35:39Charles: And we're going to do better this year.
- 1:35:41Charles: This year, we're going to hit 45.
- 1:35:45Nora: I think that's a reasonable expectation to set.
- 1:35:47Charles: I would say 50,
- 1:35:49Charles: but there's 52 weeks in a year.
- 1:35:51Nora: Knowing us,
- 1:35:52Nora: that's not going to happen.
- 1:35:53Charles: That's not going to happen.
- 1:35:55Charles: However.
- 1:35:56Nora: 45 might be doable.
- 1:35:58Charles: All right, y'all.
- 1:35:59Charles: Love you.
- 1:36:00Charles: Happy birthday.
- 1:36:00Charles: Happy birthday.
- 1:36:01Chris: Happy birthday.
- 1:36:02Chris: Thanks for joining us.
- 1:36:03Chris: We'll see you next week.
- 1:36:05Charles: Bye.
- 1:36:10Video: This is Loudspeaker.
