- 0:01Speaker 1: Let people know I am live on substack. I am
- 0:05Speaker 1: currently live Facebook, YouTube, Twitch. So hey y'all, Hey y'all,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hey y'all, Hey, hey, hey, hey, just want to jump on.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Just want to jump on really really quick. Y'all gonna
- 0:23Speaker 1: see me just moving around cause I am up. I
- 0:25Speaker 1: am standing up, so I may be moving back and
- 0:28Speaker 1: forth and don't pay me no mind. Just cannot sit
- 0:32Speaker 1: still right now. So wanted to jump on really quick
- 0:35Speaker 1: because have a couple of things that I wanted to
- 0:37Speaker 1: drop in your spirit for those that know, we are
- 0:42Speaker 1: getting ready to drop a second book for those that
- 0:46Speaker 1: are incarcerated, those men that are incarcerated, just a book
- 0:50Speaker 1: of hope. We will. We want them to know that
- 0:53Speaker 1: they are not forgotten, that we have not forgotten them,
- 0:56Speaker 1: that they are still they're still a part of our hearts,
- 1:02Speaker 1: that we still care for them, that they are still loved,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and that we are praying for them, we are rooting
- 1:10Speaker 1: for them, and they are not forgotten. So I am
- 1:13Speaker 1: yet working on that that it's going to drop soon, y'all.
- 1:17Speaker 1: My men, I'm calling out all of the men that
- 1:21Speaker 1: are a part of the one hundred at the movement.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Y'all still have time to grab your one page feature
- 1:29Speaker 1: where you can highlight your brand, where you can showcase
- 1:32Speaker 1: who you are, what you're doing, all of these amazing
- 1:34Speaker 1: awards that you have acquired, y'all, only thirty five dollars
- 1:40Speaker 1: to be featured inside of the magazine, then twenty five
- 1:44Speaker 1: dollars for you a printed copy of that magazine. Y'all.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It is something that you can hold on to that
- 1:50Speaker 1: you can pass down for generations to come. You can
- 1:52Speaker 1: even get it it elaminated, put it in a frame,
- 1:56Speaker 1: you can put it where it can be preserved and
- 1:59Speaker 1: passed down for generations to come. Not only that, y'all,
- 2:03Speaker 1: we are available through mad Cloud, We are available through blurb,
- 2:09Speaker 1: We are available through Amazon. That means you can get
- 2:12Speaker 1: us in digital or you can get us in print,
- 2:16Speaker 1: meaning that if you want to just bub a whole
- 2:18Speaker 1: bunch of copies and just send them out as souvenirs
- 2:21Speaker 1: so that people can see you inside of a magazine,
- 2:26Speaker 1: or you can tell them where they can go and
- 2:28Speaker 1: look at the magazine. Well, they can go and grab
- 2:32Speaker 1: their own copy if you want them to have a
- 2:34Speaker 1: suing air copy. But y'all, these this is an opportunity
- 2:37Speaker 1: for you to allow your brand, to speak, to allow
- 2:41Speaker 1: your brand to be seen, because again, this is a
- 2:44Speaker 1: magazine that is being seen around the world, y'all, not
- 2:48Speaker 1: just something that somebody's telling me. Something that I can
- 2:51Speaker 1: go to the website and I can look and I
- 2:54Speaker 1: can see when somebody purchased it in the UK. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: can see when somebody purchase it in eyes, I can
- 3:00Speaker 1: see when somebody purchase it in the Netherland, when somebody
- 3:03Speaker 1: purchased it in New Guinea, somewhere that I've never heard of.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But the fact that they support the things that we're doing,
- 3:11Speaker 1: so y'all, this is an opportunity. And I'm calling out
- 3:14Speaker 1: my men. You know, the month of June is your month.
- 3:18Speaker 1: This is the month that we set aside to honor,
- 3:21Speaker 1: to recognize, to showcase, to spotlight, to highlight you, and
- 3:27Speaker 1: for you guys, to not show up for yourself, to
- 3:31Speaker 1: not put yourself in the spotlight, to not show off
- 3:34Speaker 1: your own brands. If you don't show up for yourself,
- 3:37Speaker 1: who's gonna show up for you? And I'm gonna keep
- 3:40Speaker 1: telling y'all that, and I tell everybody that you got
- 3:44Speaker 1: to be your biggest cheerleader, like you should be running,
- 3:47Speaker 1: You should be beating me to the front door, trying
- 3:50Speaker 1: to get on the cover, to showcase your brand, to
- 3:53Speaker 1: showcase the books that you got coming out, the books
- 3:56Speaker 1: that you got out, the brand, the T shirts, to
- 3:58Speaker 1: ask whatever it is that you're doing. Y'all should not
- 4:03Speaker 1: be sitting quiet and hoping that somebody's gonna discover your book,
- 4:07Speaker 1: that somebody's gonna discover your brand, that somebody's gonna discover you,
- 4:11Speaker 1: y'all is not gonna happen. Like, if you want to
- 4:16Speaker 1: be seen, you got to do something to be seen.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Like nobody's just gonna just accidentally just happen upon you.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Like if you're out here doing something, if you're out
- 4:28Speaker 1: here ten in events, if you're out here a ten
- 4:30Speaker 1: in podcast, if you're out here being a guest, if
- 4:32Speaker 1: you're out here putting yourself out here, then you set
- 4:37Speaker 1: yourself up to be seen. You set yourself up to
- 4:40Speaker 1: be heard. You put yourself in a position where somebody
- 4:46Speaker 1: can see you. But if you sit quietly and just
- 4:50Speaker 1: scroll through Facebook, scroll through TikTok, and scroll through and
- 4:55Speaker 1: just post every now and then in groups, and go
- 4:57Speaker 1: live every now and then and say something or post
- 5:00Speaker 1: real every now and then, you may attend an event
- 5:02Speaker 1: every now and then. Okay, but the return on the
- 5:07Speaker 1: every now and then? Is it worth just the every
- 5:09Speaker 1: now and then? Or would you rather just go to
- 5:12Speaker 1: your website and see where Oh you've had ten people
- 5:15Speaker 1: to visit and five people purchase. Oh, well, you've had
- 5:18Speaker 1: twenty people to visit and ten people purchase. Or would
- 5:23Speaker 1: you just rather continue to just sit and just hope
- 5:26Speaker 1: that something is gonna fall out the sky. Well, it's
- 5:29Speaker 1: not gonna happen. It's not going to happen, y'all. Nothing
- 5:36Speaker 1: new is coming from that sky. You know everything you
- 5:40Speaker 1: want is already and you so if you expecting something
- 5:47Speaker 1: different to happen, then today make up your mind to
- 5:52Speaker 1: do something different. What did you not do yesterday that
- 5:57Speaker 1: you could do for yourself today that would help you
- 6:00Speaker 1: for tomorrow? And that's what you should be doing every day.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Every day you should be you should be walking into
- 6:06Speaker 1: this new day that you've never seen, that you'll never
- 6:09Speaker 1: see again, and you should be conquering in with what
- 6:12Speaker 1: can I do different? What can I do that I
- 6:15Speaker 1: didn't do yesterday that's gonna make me better today? That's
- 6:20Speaker 1: what you should be saying, and that should be your
- 6:23Speaker 1: every day. That should be your every day spill to yourself.
- 6:26Speaker 1: That's what you should walk in the room saying, well,
- 6:30Speaker 1: what am I gonna do today that I didn't do yesterday?
- 6:34Speaker 1: So I can get to a better place today because
- 6:38Speaker 1: I want to get to that better version of me.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I want to get to that version that I didn't
- 6:43Speaker 1: see yesterday. See I love me on yesterday, but I
- 6:49Speaker 1: want to get to this other version of me where
- 6:51Speaker 1: I can just love me some more. And every day
- 6:56Speaker 1: I wanted to get better and better and better. And
- 6:59Speaker 1: that's what we should want to do. We should want
- 7:00Speaker 1: to we should want yesterday and today, and we should
- 7:06Speaker 1: be doing something different today than we did yesterday. So
- 7:13Speaker 1: while we looking and thinking about this new day that
- 7:17Speaker 1: we got a chance to walk into, now, what you're
- 7:23Speaker 1: gonna do different y'all? What you gotta on the horizons
- 7:28Speaker 1: today that you can do that you didn't do yesterday? Huh?
- 7:35Speaker 1: If you still wondering, how can I get attached to
- 7:42Speaker 1: what they're doing over there? What are they doing? If
- 7:44Speaker 1: you're wondering what we're doing over there, If you're wondering
- 7:48Speaker 1: how you can be a part of the amazing movement
- 7:51Speaker 1: that we got going on over here. All you got
- 7:56Speaker 1: to do is inbox me or one of the amazing
- 7:58Speaker 1: offices that's attached and say how can I get involved?
- 8:01Speaker 1: How can I be a part of what y'all are doing? Y'all?
- 8:06Speaker 1: It's all about connecting, collaborating, creating, in community building. I
- 8:13Speaker 1: tell y'all, if you don't remember, a month or so ago,
- 8:17Speaker 1: right before we got ready to have my birthday celebration,
- 8:22Speaker 1: I was interviewed with the Coast of Carolina University of
- 8:27Speaker 1: Coasta Carolina with a South Carolina Arts Commission about being
- 8:36Speaker 1: a creative, being an entrepreneur, being a podcast or being
- 8:40Speaker 1: a magazine owner, being all of the things that I am.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Y'all had an opportunity to really share that, y'all. I
- 8:49Speaker 1: got featured on their website. I mentioned that we had
- 8:55Speaker 1: to go undergo background checks with SLED, which is the
- 9:00Speaker 1: South Carolina It's like the Stay in South Carolina background check.
- 9:04Speaker 1: So and they have wanted to make sure that you
- 9:07Speaker 1: have nothing to do anything to do with mistreatment of
- 9:10Speaker 1: kids or anything essaying with kids, anything along any type
- 9:16Speaker 1: of miss alignment with kids. Because we're gonna be featured
- 9:20Speaker 1: on high school websites, We're gonna be featured on freshmen
- 9:26Speaker 1: and sophomore college's websites, because we are actually talking about
- 9:32Speaker 1: our careers as creatives, our careers as podcasters, as radio hosts,
- 9:39Speaker 1: as magazine owners, as dancers. Because there's even some dancers.
- 9:46Speaker 1: There's a young lady out of Spartanburg that's featured alongside
- 9:50Speaker 1: of me for African Dance. So, y'all, I'm just honored
- 9:55Speaker 1: to be inside and to be featured alongside of this.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It just speaks volume for the person that nominated me,
- 10:03Speaker 1: that thought that what I do was worthy enough to
- 10:07Speaker 1: be recognized and to be interviewed. Thank you, Thank you
- 10:13Speaker 1: for thinking of me and giving me this opportunity to share.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I really talked about the one hundred author movement, So
- 10:19Speaker 1: if you are a part of the one hundred author movement,
- 10:22Speaker 1: know that you are out there, y'all. Every chance I get,
- 10:26Speaker 1: and if you are a part of anything that I do,
- 10:29Speaker 1: know that every chance I get, I love to share
- 10:33Speaker 1: those that are connected with me. That's one thing about me.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I take collaborating seriously. That person that spoke that over
- 10:41Speaker 1: my life those six seven years ago, five six seven
- 10:45Speaker 1: years ago. I know it's been over five years, but
- 10:47Speaker 1: six seven eight years ago, however long it's been now, y'all,
- 10:50Speaker 1: thank you, thank you for speaking that into me and
- 10:54Speaker 1: over my life, because it definitely changed my life because
- 10:59Speaker 1: as I look back, I never saw myself doing that.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Begain people began to call me that, and that began
- 11:07Speaker 1: to resonate, and then I began to accept it, and
- 11:11Speaker 1: I began to call myself that. And then as people
- 11:14Speaker 1: began to, you know, accept that, then they went from
- 11:18Speaker 1: queen or collaboration, just started calling me queen. So I'm
- 11:22Speaker 1: just accepting of I'm just accepting of the calling. I
- 11:28Speaker 1: thank God for opportunity because, y'all, I'm telling you, the
- 11:34Speaker 1: enemy wanted to take me out, was on the road
- 11:37Speaker 1: to take me out. I was headed to destruction and
- 11:42Speaker 1: I was well on my way because guess what I
- 11:44Speaker 1: was making wrong? The true I was making wrong decisions.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I was making the wrong choices. I was making choices
- 11:50Speaker 1: in my life that I should not have been making.
- 11:54Speaker 1: But when you're in a place and and you got
- 11:57Speaker 1: to be in a place where you can understand that,
- 11:59Speaker 1: you can never say never. Because I'm telling you, I
- 12:02Speaker 1: was in a place where I said I will never
- 12:04Speaker 1: be that person that will endure the domestic violence and
- 12:08Speaker 1: ending some of the things that I ain't doing. But
- 12:10Speaker 1: then I found myself in a dark place. I found
- 12:13Speaker 1: myself in a place where I lost myself, and in
- 12:17Speaker 1: losing myself, I began to go through a lot of
- 12:20Speaker 1: things and begin to experience a lot of things. But
- 12:22Speaker 1: I thank God for my family and for them for
- 12:29Speaker 1: thinking enough of me to pray. My mama was a
- 12:32Speaker 1: praying mama. My great grandfather was a praying granddaddy because
- 12:36Speaker 1: he prayed for us. Every time we came in his present,
- 12:39Speaker 1: he prayed for us. And now that's something that has
- 12:42Speaker 1: really been a part of my life and has really
- 12:44Speaker 1: been something that has really carried me. For the last
- 12:47Speaker 1: five years, we have been holding down the Servant Leader
- 12:49Speaker 1: prayer line, and I can honestly say that God has
- 12:52Speaker 1: truly been moving through that prayer line. It ain't nothing
- 12:55Speaker 1: that nobody told me, something that I have seen for myself.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I have seen God show up and show out within
- 13:01Speaker 1: that pra line. I've seen people He'll deliver it and
- 13:04Speaker 1: set free y'all. I missed it this morning, and I
- 13:07Speaker 1: was like I was over here, like I know, my
- 13:09Speaker 1: day gonna be messed up. Everything was gonna be messed up.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But I had to go back and I had to regroup.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I had to go back and I had to regroup.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I had to get myself together, and I had to
- 13:17Speaker 1: realize that, you know what, maybe it was a reason
- 13:20Speaker 1: why I missed the prayr call this morning. Maybe I
- 13:23Speaker 1: needed to get some rest because I've been doing a
- 13:26Speaker 1: little more than I should have been doing. So I
- 13:29Speaker 1: took it as what it was, and then I regrouped,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I got up, I saved my prayers, and I did
- 13:35Speaker 1: what I had to do. And then now I'm here,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I'm here, I'm here. So I just wanted to jump
- 13:44Speaker 1: on and I just wanted to let my men know
- 13:48Speaker 1: as we approached the month of June, it is your month.
- 13:53Speaker 1: This is the time that we utilized to celebrate you.
- 13:57Speaker 1: This is the time that we utilize to bring you
- 14:01Speaker 1: to the forefront. Because I've done as much research as
- 14:04Speaker 1: I could, and nowhere could I find anywhere where they
- 14:09Speaker 1: truly recognize our black men. Society have done our men wrong,
- 14:15Speaker 1: they have done our men wrong, they have failed our men,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and we, as black women, we got to help our
- 14:24Speaker 1: men take the thrown back. We got to help them
- 14:28Speaker 1: fix their crowns. And take their thrown back because society
- 14:35Speaker 1: have them to think that we don't care about them,
- 14:39Speaker 1: that were so independent that we don't need them. But
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna first to tell you that I need me
- 14:43Speaker 1: a black king. Hum, I need me one. I'd rather
- 14:50Speaker 1: not have anything else, but I need me a black king.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So I'm feared to tell you that we need you.
- 14:58Speaker 1: We need you healthy, we need you as a leader,
- 15:01Speaker 1: we need you as the man that you are supposed
- 15:04Speaker 1: to be, the head of the house. And that's what
- 15:07Speaker 1: we need. See, a lot of us know what has
- 15:13Speaker 1: taken place in society. Well a lot of us have
- 15:16Speaker 1: been blind to it, but we know that just as
- 15:20Speaker 1: slavery ended, that the separation, in the demarginalization and the
- 15:28Speaker 1: destruction of the black family began, because then that became
- 15:35Speaker 1: the separation. And y'all, that's a whole nother story. That's
- 15:38Speaker 1: a whole nother podcast and probably take a couple of
- 15:40Speaker 1: series to really address. But for those that know, you
- 15:45Speaker 1: know that you know that you know, and now that
- 15:47Speaker 1: we know that we know that we know, then it's
- 15:50Speaker 1: time that we do some things about it. And we
- 15:53Speaker 1: come from that state. So kings, take your throne, stand up,
- 16:01Speaker 1: for that that you know is rightfully yours if you
- 16:07Speaker 1: are an author. Huh, walk in your lane. I saw
- 16:12Speaker 1: a post today that really was disheartening to me. A
- 16:15Speaker 1: young black male who is also a teacher, if I'm
- 16:21Speaker 1: not mistaken, but he's a leader in the DMV area,
- 16:26Speaker 1: and he was at a event, a author event, and
- 16:33Speaker 1: he was really talked to rudey. He was really disrespected
- 16:38Speaker 1: in a way that made him feel like he had
- 16:43Speaker 1: no authority. What he was saying was not worthy of
- 16:47Speaker 1: being said, and he shouldn't even have the book. Like,
- 16:49Speaker 1: who gave you that authority? You know, a lot of
- 16:53Speaker 1: us we think that we are the only person that
- 16:55Speaker 1: can do that. No, You're not God, had no respect
- 16:59Speaker 1: or a person just it's like, he gave you a story.
- 17:01Speaker 1: He gave me a story. He gave the James the story.
- 17:03Speaker 1: He gave the other angela store, he gave the other
- 17:06Speaker 1: Angelu story, he gave that angela story. He gave that
- 17:08Speaker 1: James the store, that Patricia store, that Patricia store, that
- 17:12Speaker 1: Patricia's story, that Cerda's story, that Cerida story, that Latonia story.
- 17:17Speaker 1: He gave us all a story for us to tell
- 17:21Speaker 1: in our own way. So who is anybody to tell
- 17:27Speaker 1: anybody how anything is supposed to be done. That's why
- 17:32Speaker 1: I tell people, if you look at other people perspective
- 17:41Speaker 1: and definition of success, you'll never be successful because what's
- 17:48Speaker 1: successful to me may not be what successful to you.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And I always go back to this one story, and
- 17:54Speaker 1: this is one story when I was when I got shot,
- 17:59Speaker 1: and for a long time I had issues walking and
- 18:03Speaker 1: there was a time when I could not walk without
- 18:06Speaker 1: my walker. But when I was able to walk without
- 18:10Speaker 1: my walker, that was success to me because there was
- 18:12Speaker 1: a time when I had to be dependent on it.
- 18:15Speaker 1: But now that I don't have to be dependent on it,
- 18:19Speaker 1: that's the success for me because I don't have to
- 18:21Speaker 1: use it no more. But for a person that didn't
- 18:25Speaker 1: have to go through that and didn't have to use
- 18:27Speaker 1: a walker and didn't have to go through that, then
- 18:30Speaker 1: that means nothing to them. So we have to look
- 18:38Speaker 1: at it from our perspective and look at it from
- 18:40Speaker 1: what it looked like to us, and take it for
- 18:44Speaker 1: what it means to us. Because I may look at
- 18:48Speaker 1: a couple it may look half four, and you may
- 18:51Speaker 1: look at that same coupan you say, gird that come
- 18:53Speaker 1: every day. But I might say it's half four because
- 18:58Speaker 1: I might can see all of the the stuff that
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'm putting in there. That that that y'all, but you're like,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I ain't ain't no ice in that, ain't nothing in it.
- 19:07Speaker 1: It's empty. But it's all in the eye of the beholder.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's just like beauty. Because I think I'm beautiful. You
- 19:19Speaker 1: might I think I'm beautiful. You may think I am
- 19:21Speaker 1: a told. You may think I am a frog, You
- 19:24Speaker 1: may think I am you may think I'm a pimple.
- 19:28Speaker 1: But I may think I'm the hardest thing trying on
- 19:31Speaker 1: this side up to Mississippi. But y'all, that's my perspective.
- 19:41Speaker 1: That is how I look at it. That is how
- 19:44Speaker 1: I see myself. And that's how you got to see yourself.
- 19:49Speaker 1: You gotta get your perspective. You got to get your
- 19:52Speaker 1: out look. You gotta get what you get. Okay, So
- 19:56Speaker 1: y'all just want to jump on, Just want to share that.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Just want to get y'all going, man, get involved. If
- 20:03Speaker 1: you are not, if you've not reached out to me
- 20:08Speaker 1: a Patrese and said, hey, I wanna be featured in
- 20:11Speaker 1: the magazine and I want to grab my one page. Ah,
- 20:17Speaker 1: my men, if you are an author. I don't care
- 20:19Speaker 1: what kind of author you are, poort whatever, you should
- 20:22Speaker 1: be showcasing your brand. This is your month coming up.
- 20:27Speaker 1: June is your month. Like if you are a male author,
- 20:32Speaker 1: like it should be overflowing with men. We always saying
- 20:37Speaker 1: we don't get an opportunity to represent our men, that
- 20:41Speaker 1: women are always man. This is your opportunity. I've been
- 20:44Speaker 1: advertising for three months. Now get signed up, grab your copy.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Y'all still got time. But y'all, time ain't gonna wait.
- 20:58Speaker 1: It's not gonna keep waiting. It's gonna pass you by.
