Remember last week when I told you we were preparing for a potential hurricane hit over the weekend? Well, there wasn’t anything potential about it. The rain wasn’t an issue, but the winds really got us (thanks to a rare weather phenomenon known as a sting jet), and there were pockets of extreme devastation across our community.

There were several scary hours when the sustained winds wreaked havoc on so many oaks in the area. Our home was untouched; but so many homes, schools, and businesses were damaged by falling trees and limbs and high winds. We were without power for four nights…
