- 0:03Speaker 1: All right, friends, welcome for the third hour. Appreciate you
- 0:06Speaker 1: joining us here on Thrustrial Radio or iHeartRadio, however you
- 0:11Speaker 1: find us. We're grateful, truly grateful. That is Jose running
- 0:15Speaker 1: the radio program in Studio one A. I am your host,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Preston Scott, and I am joined by the coach, US
- 0:22Speaker 1: senator and candidate for governor in the great state of Alabama,
- 0:26Speaker 1: Tommy Tubberville. Coach, how are you.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Good morning, Preston. I'm doing great. Thanks for asking.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm anxious to talk about your gubernatorial campaign, but I
- 0:37Speaker 1: have to ask you. It is topic de jure for
- 0:40Speaker 1: the last several weeks around here. What's going on with
- 0:43Speaker 1: the Save Act? Why can't this just let him fill
- 0:47Speaker 1: a buster, a talk and let's vote and get it done.
- 0:52Speaker 2: One hundred percent agree. It is amazing up here. It
- 0:56Speaker 2: is a eighty something percent approval, not just Republicans but
- 1:03Speaker 2: also most of the Democrats. Is not quite as high
- 1:05Speaker 2: for the Democrats, but it's a super majority. So at
- 1:09Speaker 2: the end of the day, we got so many people
- 1:11Speaker 2: up here. There's word to death about getting re elected.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And that's what's wrong with this place. You know, you know,
- 1:17Speaker 2: I might hurt my voting and all this and instead
- 1:19Speaker 2: of doing what's best for the country. And I tell
- 1:23Speaker 2: people this that people ask me, what do you think
- 1:26Speaker 2: the biggest reason we need to pass this is from
- 1:29Speaker 2: first of all, we've got fifteen states in this country.
- 1:32Speaker 2: They're absolutely going to cheat the hell out of the
- 1:34Speaker 2: American people. And they're the Blue states and they do
- 1:37Speaker 2: everything they can, from the city government all the way
- 1:40Speaker 2: up to the federal government of stacking the boxes. That's
- 1:43Speaker 2: been proven. It's not just hearsay. We know what happens.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And so you've lost fifteen states right there. If we
- 1:50Speaker 2: don't get voter ID we've lost them. We have no
- 1:53Speaker 2: chance for the American people, you know, to save their country.
- 1:58Speaker 2: And so seventy seven million people, not Democrats or Republicans
- 2:04Speaker 2: Preston voted for Donald Trump. Seventy seven million. And they're
- 2:07Speaker 2: tired of this nonsense. They're tired of politics. They want
- 2:12Speaker 2: their country back, and they want fair elections. When I
- 2:15Speaker 2: go throughout Alabama, coach is, please tell me my vote's
- 2:19Speaker 2: going to count and for us in Alabama, and of
- 2:23Speaker 2: course a lot of the pan hele in Florida, you're
- 2:26Speaker 2: you're gonna have fair elections. But that's just one of
- 2:30Speaker 2: our two states out of fifty that I know we
- 2:33Speaker 2: can count on. We need fifty out of fifty.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Why is it so difficult for John Thune to understand?
- 2:40Speaker 1: I should say, the polling that you mentioned, We've talked
- 2:43Speaker 1: about it, seventy plus percent of Blacks, seventy plus percent
- 2:46Speaker 1: of Latinos, seventy three percent of Democrats, and the overall
- 2:50Speaker 1: numbers eighty three percent. You're gonna lose votes by not
- 2:55Speaker 1: voting this into place.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he's trying to play Paul. You know, he's the
- 3:01Speaker 2: leader up here, and I didn't vote for him, and
- 3:03Speaker 2: he's John's a good guy, and he's Republican believes in
- 3:06Speaker 2: the country. But he's got five or six seven people
- 3:09Speaker 2: in our caucus that are Republicans. They're not really Republicans,
- 3:13Speaker 2: you know. Number one, they all hate Donald Trump, and
- 3:17Speaker 2: uh they want to more vote for the Democratic side,
- 3:22Speaker 2: and we know who they all are. And so uh,
- 3:25Speaker 2: in defense of him, if he brings it up just
- 3:27Speaker 2: a regular vote, we got no shot because we have
- 3:30Speaker 2: to have sixty votes. And so that's the reason I've
- 3:33Speaker 2: been pushing all along. There's no reason for us to
- 3:36Speaker 2: do the antiquated filibuster anymore because they're gonna they're gonna
- 3:40Speaker 2: bust it when they get control, which is gonna be
- 3:43Speaker 2: very soon if we don't go ahead and do the
- 3:46Speaker 2: Save Act. But it's just important that we understand that
- 3:51Speaker 2: we need to get things done, like the Save Act,
- 3:53Speaker 2: the budget. Uh if nothing but this situation we're in
- 3:57Speaker 2: right now. I went through some airports last year weeks. Preston.
- 4:01Speaker 2: TSA is a god awful mess. Yes, it all weights,
- 4:04Speaker 2: and it's all because the Democrats refused to fund DHS
- 4:09Speaker 2: that it's not really about TSA for them. They just
- 4:12Speaker 2: hate to lose their voting base, which is illegal. And
- 4:15Speaker 2: so we could do a fifty one vote bust to
- 4:19Speaker 2: philibuster vote it, clean that up, Save America Act, and
- 4:23Speaker 2: do so much for the American people. If we would
- 4:27Speaker 2: do the right thing and bust to Philibuster, forget about
- 4:31Speaker 2: They said, well, it's tradition in the Senate. We have sixty. Hey,
- 4:35Speaker 2: I don't work for the Senate. I work for the
- 4:37Speaker 2: American people and people of Alabama. Let's get this done
- 4:40Speaker 2: because this is a different world than what it was
- 4:42Speaker 2: Preston ten years ago. The Democrats have turned crazy on us,
- 4:46Speaker 2: absolutely nuts, a.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Few more minutes this morning with friend of the program
- 4:53Speaker 1: US Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama before we get to
- 4:56Speaker 1: the governor's race in your state, Coach, just your level
- 5:02Speaker 1: of comfort or discomfort with what's going on in the
- 5:05Speaker 1: Middle East.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Well, I feel good about it. I feel good about
- 5:09Speaker 2: why we did it. You hate to lose any of
- 5:14Speaker 2: our soldiers, and unfortunately we've lost a few, but precedents
- 5:18Speaker 2: to the point where we finally got a president that
- 5:21Speaker 2: would say enough's enough on building nuclear weapons or funding
- 5:24Speaker 2: terrorism all over the world. We've had one hundred and
- 5:26Speaker 2: eighty taxes in the last few years on American citizens
- 5:30Speaker 2: from terrorists that are funded by Iran. They hate this country,
- 5:34Speaker 2: they hate Americas, they hate Christianity, and it's time to
- 5:38Speaker 2: put them in their place. So he has now, do
- 5:40Speaker 2: we need to stay very long? No, we do not.
- 5:43Speaker 2: We need to get in, we need to get out,
- 5:46Speaker 2: and we need to turn this over to another regime.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Now it sounds like they're his son is going to
- 5:50Speaker 2: take over, but there has been regime change. We're making
- 5:55Speaker 2: sure that they have no uranium, no nuclear facilities, and
- 6:00Speaker 2: give our kids and grandkids a peace of mind that
- 6:03Speaker 2: if something happens in this world is not going to
- 6:06Speaker 2: be because of Iran in the Islamic.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Terrorist Let's switch over now to your run for governor.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Why'd you decide to make the decision to push away
- 6:17Speaker 1: from the US Senate and head to the Executive Office
- 6:21Speaker 1: of Alabama.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Well, the President is sending more power back to the states,
- 6:26Speaker 2: more money back to the states. You know, we're a
- 6:30Speaker 2: stand still up here. You're not going to get much done.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You know, President Trump, you have to have a White House,
- 6:37Speaker 2: and President Trump the most everything he's getting done is
- 6:40Speaker 2: by executive orders. Now, we did do the one big,
- 6:42Speaker 2: beautiful bill, but that took an arm and a leg
- 6:45Speaker 2: just to twist the arms of some of these rhinos
- 6:48Speaker 2: we got in the Senate to get this done with
- 6:50Speaker 2: fifty one votes, we didn't have to have sixty. So
- 6:54Speaker 2: it's time for to go back. I can do a
- 6:55Speaker 2: lot more good there because understanding and knowing and in
- 7:00Speaker 2: communicating with President Trump getting things done for the southeast
- 7:05Speaker 2: part of the country. We're going We're going to grow
- 7:08Speaker 2: manufacturing Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee. I'm looking forward to it.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I can build something, you know, it's kind of like
- 7:17Speaker 2: being a head football coach. You got to hire your
- 7:19Speaker 2: own staff and your cabinet, and you gotta have a
- 7:21Speaker 2: game plan and you put it to work. Up here,
- 7:24Speaker 2: there's no game plan, there's nothing other than you just
- 7:26Speaker 2: go over there and listen to a bunch of nonsense
- 7:29Speaker 2: every day and and just hopefully we help President Trump
- 7:32Speaker 2: as much as we possibly can.
- 7:33Speaker 1: You talked about some of the things that are coming
- 7:35Speaker 1: to the region, but specifically in Alabama. I've noted just
- 7:41Speaker 1: in the news stories that come across my desk, Coach,
- 7:43Speaker 1: the the big changes that are coming into Alabama, Space
- 7:47Speaker 1: comm Fannie May, Coast Guard Training Center, talk about some
- 7:50Speaker 1: of that.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah, We've been fortunate to attract a lot of good
- 7:57Speaker 2: some obviously government jobs. Fanning May, I'm a job. President
- 8:01Speaker 2: Trump called me one night and said, Hey, we're moving
- 8:04Speaker 2: Fanny May out of California. Do you want it in Alabama?
- 8:06Speaker 2: Let said bring it on. And then Coast Guard route. Yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 2: we've worked on it for the Coast Guard for the
- 8:14Speaker 2: last year and we had a great opportunity and a
- 8:16Speaker 2: great place for them. It saved the country probably some
- 8:18Speaker 2: eight one hundred million dollars taken over old Birmingham Southern,
- 8:21Speaker 2: which is a two hundred acre campus which is going
- 8:24Speaker 2: to be perfect for own land, training, leadership and all
- 8:27Speaker 2: those things for Coastguard and then Space Command. It's a
- 8:31Speaker 2: no brainer. They played politics with this, but Hunt schools
- 8:35Speaker 2: of the Rocket city of the World, and everything we
- 8:38Speaker 2: do and space comes from there. Why not have Space
- 8:40Speaker 2: Command where they can communicate and do things we need
- 8:43Speaker 2: to do, you know, around all the infrastructure we have there.
- 8:48Speaker 1: If you get the job as governor, what is job
- 8:52Speaker 1: one for you in Alabama?
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah, growd the state. You know, it's kind of like
- 8:58Speaker 2: a mini United States. The only way we're going to
- 9:01Speaker 2: get out of this debt, the only way we're going
- 9:04Speaker 2: to help our young people. Number one is getting manufacturing
- 9:08Speaker 2: back to this country. Bill Clinton sold us out through NAFTA.
- 9:12Speaker 2: We have all over the state of Alabama buildings that
- 9:15Speaker 2: are empty where we used to make things. We don't
- 9:18Speaker 2: make things anymore. We've got to get back to making drugs,
- 9:21Speaker 2: making things that can help our country in the United States.
- 9:25Speaker 2: We found out during COVID you know how vulnerable we
- 9:28Speaker 2: were with no pharmaceuticals made in our country, all made
- 9:32Speaker 2: in China. Enough's enough. We finally got a president says,
- 9:35Speaker 2: we're going to start doing what we need to do
- 9:38Speaker 2: and take care of ourselves, First America, first agenda, and
- 9:41Speaker 2: I'm all in on it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Coach, thanks for the time this morning. I know you're busy,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and I appreciate you wedging some loose best of success,
- 9:48Speaker 1: and I hope we talk soon.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Thanks Preston, God blessed, Thank.
- 9:53Speaker 1: You, sir. Coach. Tommy Tubberville, US senator from Alabama and
- 9:57Speaker 1: running for governor. And you heard why you could here
- 10:00Speaker 1: in the beginning, just his disdain for how they do
- 10:05Speaker 1: things in the Beltway. It just explained right there. I
- 10:11Speaker 1: asked the question almost it was almost rhetorical. I mean,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I know why he's getting out of there and going
- 10:17Speaker 1: to Alabama, going back home, and good guy boy, he's
- 10:23Speaker 1: got his head screwed on straight and he shares our
- 10:27Speaker 1: values and I look forward to continuing, you know, a
- 10:32Speaker 1: relationship with him. I think he's going to win the
- 10:35Speaker 1: governor's seat and it'd be great to have him on
- 10:38Speaker 1: the show from time to time. It is our neighbor,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and we want the best for our neighbors because that's
- 10:44Speaker 1: the way we are. The cul de Sac here known
- 10:47Speaker 1: as the Morning Show with Preston Scott
