- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hey, stranger.
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: Yella.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: People miss us, man.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: People miss us.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: They wonder if we're still in business or went out of business or what happened.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Do you remember me?
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: We were supposed to talk every day.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Well, that was just to get started.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Now now we're we're working it out.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Maybe it'll be every week.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, that's not enough.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Hang on.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Deer.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: There's a bunch of deer crossing the road right in front of me now.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: Is that exciting?
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Hey deer.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: This is kind of oh, there's another one.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: This is their pathway.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, man.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: California, man.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: It's the place we want to be.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: They go um in our backyard.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: I'm in Nashville, bruh.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Bruh.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Nashville, that's where the music is.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, hello.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Look at this guy.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm scaring him.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Now he doesn't know where to go.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Well, just just chill and meditate for a minute.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Let him be Zen out with him.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: I'm Zen out a minute.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: I think he well, now they now oh now they're going back the other way.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: They're they're young.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: These are these guys were just born this year for sure.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Look at that.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: They're just walking around my neighbor's front yard.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Like, hey.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Hi guys.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Nature.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: You know what we call that?
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: You call it nature.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Nature.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: I love nature.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Nature's pretty cool.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: I've always loved nature.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Nature's pretty cool.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: You know, I What's new, dude?
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I was just at I was just at a lima bean festival and Oh, I love those.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, lima beans are not for eating.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: They're not really good to eat because they don't taste good and they don't feel good in your mouth.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Um, I think sometimes I like lime.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: I like lima beans.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're not really.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: I think I like butter beans better.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Other people like them too, because there were people here.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I was like, who comes to a lima bean festival when nobody eats lima beans?
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I guess some people eat them.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Um I can't eat them if you just soak them in butter, so that all they are is just really a even some salt too, yeah.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, butter and salt, and then the then the taste disappears.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Then I'm okay.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, maybe some bacon.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Ooh, that maybe sounds good.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: So I just invented something with lima beans, even though I don't like them, which is you mash them like a mashed potato.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And then and then I guess I said to my wife, I said, Oh, and then you mash them with sweet potato, okay, but then put some um some um what's that green stuff that you get at sushi?
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Um, wasabi.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: So you have like sweet and spicy, I guess.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: But I wasn't, I didn't mean sweet potato.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: So really it's just lima beans, because I I would think they would mash up like that's one of the things I don't like about them, it's the texture.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: But I would think they would mash up like a like a potato would.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And you do half lima beans, half potato, and then wasabi.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Half wasabi.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Not yeah, half wasabi, exactly.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Three halves.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: How's Nashville?
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know what's great about it is just seeing my boy and his fiance, and uh we're we just we went to some we went to a movie today.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: It was real hot, and then we were just m chilling today.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: So we went to see to an art theater, to art house theater to see the Sundance 2026 Six Shorts from Sundance 2026 Six Winning Shorts.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: That's cool.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: They were excellent, that was fun because you know we don't get that kind of thing.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: We don't get that kind of culture where we live.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: We have an art house.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: We're not it does it's not as good as the one here, though.
- 3:43unknown: Right.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: Um, we're going to a nice restaurant tonight, which that's won a James Beard Award.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: We're about to walk three minutes from our Airbnb to a James Beard award-winning restaurant, another thing we can't do in our little town.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, and we're getting to uh, you know, just kind of last night we went to my son's uh yacht club where he where he sails in this uh yacht club, these little, these little, these tiny little sailboats, uh lasers, I think they're called.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: And he's made some friends there, and they have sailboats and they do some sailing, and they had a new member um um potluck last night.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: And so we made some cookies and some and some field peas, and and we went there and we and we met some of his friends, and uh then they they did like a um they did a uh trivia about yacht yacht trivia, and then they had shanty, like sing along shanties that we did while we were there.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: And I mean it was it's just it was just so quaint, you know.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: So like we're getting to see his little his little life here in Nashville and meet his friends and see it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: We today we went to Vanderbilt where he's in grad school and got to see the building where he does his classes and things.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: So it's it's you know, these are the kind of things you do when you have grown children and you kind of go visit their lives a little bit.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: It's nice.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Did you play D D?
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: We did not play DD.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know how to do that.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: I am missing at this very moment, I am missing the Florida Gator football game that's happening right now, which is very rare for me.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: I usually see every single game, no matter what.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: Go gator.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: But instead of going like leaving the family to go to the one place in Nashville that has a UF alumni like gator game watch party, yeah.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: I decided to uh go to the art films with them and go to dinner because we're playing uh a a team called the the um the the uh the the Campbell Camels.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: The Campbell Camels, which is a small Baptist school out of North Carolina that we paid five hundred and fifty thousand dollars to come to Gainesville so we could beat them.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: And um, and you know, those kind of games just aren't that exciting, and they're actually kind of dumb.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: But it is fun to see what guys play, what what does your quarterback look like?
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: How does your coach a new coach what what's he doing?
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: What what's your receivers and your running backs look like?
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Like that's the fun of it, but you know, I'm just giving it up this week.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I'm confused about who paid what, who paid what to come play.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: So when when you when you have a big school and you're playing a crappy team just to kind of get some practice, you pay them a lot of money.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Last week we paid the team over a million dollars to come to Gainesville, 1.2 million to come to Gainesville so we could beat them, right?
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: Fi you don't know how this works.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: Paid another school to basically practice with.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's like we're gonna play a like a high school team so that we can beat you and we can get a win, and we're and you guys get money.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: But you're not it's not a win for your division because it they're not the little thing.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: It's not a win for our division, it's just a way for us to get some practice in.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: It's practice, that's what I said.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: So you're basically paying a team to practice with.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's the one thing I I don't understand.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I was talking to my brother about it.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: He's he's big into this, of course, and and and my uh my nephew's on a big team.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: And I think he's playing right now.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Just just the money.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Just the money.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, there we're we're getting five million dollars from a cryptocurrency so that they can print the name of their cryptocurrency on the field for the home games.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's five million dollars.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I can't believe you're talking about that.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Nuts.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, I would be okay if hold on, hold on.
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: Talk to Steve Beebe.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Steve, I figured out what you should name your podcast.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: Okay, what?
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: I think you should name it pop psychology.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Pop is what I call my dad.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I know it's like you guys on the podcast, you talk about like familyisms.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Well, we don't call him dad, we call him pop.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: And the podcast pop psychology.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: So it's like that's what you call psychology.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: That's like not real psychology.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: It's like in the papers, right?
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: But it's pop psychology.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, it's a pun.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: So could it be like the short version be like pop sci?
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, if you want to shorten it, sure.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Then you can even squeeze my name in there.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Because for me, I always got to know what's the short version of pop psi.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: The short version.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Well, we have to pop psychology.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: It is a lot of syllables.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Popsai is better.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we have to we have to um we have to vet that and make sure it's not some somebody else's got it.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: So but don't don't, it should be PSY.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: It shouldn't.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: You can't spell it with an S.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: That's too weird.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I like that one.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: Hey, what I does your dad ever play DD?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: What's the go what's going on?
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: He's never played DD.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: I would love to get him to play DD with me.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: You know, Maddie's dad has played DD with her.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: I would love to play DD with you sometime, Pop.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Um, can if I put this on speaker, will it not record correctly?
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: Well, why am I the only one talking?
