- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on sevenor well, it's gonna be
- 0:06Speaker 1: a beautiful day today. Price of oil up, a little,
- 0:10Speaker 1: stock market down, a little, price of oil up two
- 0:14Speaker 1: eighty two dollars a barrel, all right, that's up from
- 0:17Speaker 1: it was down around sixty eight to seventy. But it's
- 0:20Speaker 1: just like last time, temporary spike. It'll come down. We
- 0:23Speaker 1: are bombing the hell out of Iran every night. Now.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Iranians killed two US troops over the weekend. One more.
- 0:31Speaker 1: That brings it up to three. You'll hear the news
- 0:34Speaker 1: media talk about this day and night. Three dead, you know, no,
- 0:37Speaker 1: overall in the war, six seven dead. And they'll make
- 0:42Speaker 1: a big deal out of that. Now, got a remember
- 0:45Speaker 1: during the Biden Afghanistan withdrawal, thirteen US soldiers were killed.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do you know that during the Obama administration? How many
- 0:52Speaker 1: US soldiers you think were killed during the Obama administration?
- 0:58Speaker 1: Three hundred three? No mention by the media. Not a
- 1:02Speaker 1: big deal to them. So but Iran, not only that,
- 1:07Speaker 1: but the warning people they stay away from US bases.
- 1:11Speaker 1: They're making all kinds of threats. Now, Iranian's missile and
- 1:16Speaker 1: drone attacks stuck, a struck, a nuclear or a power
- 1:20Speaker 1: and water distillation plant in Kuwait. That's very important. These
- 1:24Speaker 1: water distillation plants that part of the world key source
- 1:27Speaker 1: of drinking water in Kuwait, which is a tiny nation.
- 1:30Speaker 1: So they did hit that. That was pretty strategic. Iran
- 1:35Speaker 1: is telling its own citizens turn off the air conditioner
- 1:38Speaker 1: to preserve the power grid. I think it's hot here.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Try Iran telling people turn off the AC They blame
- 1:45Speaker 1: US strikes for the string. Now, of course they are
- 1:48Speaker 1: threatening President Trump like crazy. They even have billboards now
- 1:53Speaker 1: threatening Trump that they're going to kill him his family.
- 1:56Speaker 1: This is pretty serious stuff. Can you imagine why would
- 2:01Speaker 1: he even take this job? Now you got Iran threatening you. Now,
- 2:04Speaker 1: he said, suddenly, like a salmon rushdie. There's a giant
- 2:08Speaker 1: poster in the middle of Tehran calling for the death
- 2:12Speaker 1: of Trump. They're all over the place. Another one, Oh God,
- 2:17Speaker 1: has headshots of members of the Trump family, including Milania, Avanka,
- 2:21Speaker 1: Don Junior, on top of coffins draped with US flag.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I mean, this is just awful. They're also threatening well,
- 2:31Speaker 1: they actually said Trump is the next one after the
- 2:36Speaker 1: death of regime critic Lindsey Graham. So does that mean
- 2:40Speaker 1: they're implying that they had something to do with his death,
- 2:43Speaker 1: that they somehow caused it or poisoned him or something.
- 2:47Speaker 1: So crazy. Democrats have got to do something about their
- 2:54Speaker 1: party being taken over by nutjob socialists. Who's going to
- 2:57Speaker 1: stand up to them? Well, Fetterman has been pretty good.
- 3:01Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:03Speaker 1: When Mamdani made these ridiculous, silly, childish comments about I'm
- 3:07Speaker 1: going to arrest netnya, who would just nonsense, ridiculous stuff.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He can't arrest net nyah. And there's no such law
- 3:14Speaker 1: the internet. He violated international law. There's no such thing.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And the International Criminal Court in the Hague is just
- 3:21Speaker 1: a silly little thing. It's not a real court. It's
- 3:23Speaker 1: not even recognized by the United States. Their leaders are
- 3:26Speaker 1: not even allowed in the United States. It's just a joke.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But the one Democrat really stood up to Mamdani was Fatterman.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Give them credit.
- 3:33Speaker 3: It's such a tough guy to say that kind of thing.
- 3:36Speaker 3: He has no way to do that. Of course, obviously
- 3:39Speaker 3: America is not even part of that corrupt court, and
- 3:43Speaker 3: so he's just a clown to even say that.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, this International Criminal Court is a left wing kook court.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Follow it was founded by a bunch of mam donni
- 3:53Speaker 1: types to go after America, and that's why America doesn't
- 3:57Speaker 1: recognize it, doesn't submit to it, and most major nations
- 4:02Speaker 1: don't recognize the i c CS not a real court.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But good for Fetterman. And he's the guy taken on
- 4:09Speaker 1: the Democrat. He's the Democrat trying to wake up his party.
- 4:12Speaker 3: If our party ever becomes and just make it official
- 4:16Speaker 3: as the anti Israel party, you know, that's when I
- 4:21Speaker 3: would leave because that's been a moral clarity for me.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just ridiculous. And Bill Maher give Bill Maher
- 4:28Speaker 1: credit for standing up to the crazy Democrats. In fact,
- 4:34Speaker 1: mar in an interview said they've embraced a level of nuttiness,
- 4:39Speaker 1: of nutty stuff that makes him open to voting. He
- 4:42Speaker 1: says for JD Vance in twenty twenty eight, he said
- 4:46Speaker 1: the party is being taken over. Every day I hear
- 4:49Speaker 1: about a new very radical guy. I can't sit and
- 4:52Speaker 1: just not notice stuff which people seem to want to
- 4:56Speaker 1: do because it's all about my team, your team. But
- 4:59Speaker 1: it's some crazy stuff. And when they're cheering for the Intefada,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm out, so no, And he says, I'm not living
- 5:07Speaker 1: in communist America. I know that the talking point is
- 5:10Speaker 1: that it's not communism, it's socialism. But when they're talking
- 5:14Speaker 1: about taking over key industries, it's communism. There's the definition.
- 5:20Speaker 1: So even Mar standing up to them, good for him.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But he gave a lot of interviews. Well, the reason
- 5:26Speaker 1: is he's got the Mark Twain Award. It's a big deal,
- 5:29Speaker 1: the Mark Twain Award for Bill Maher.
- 5:31Speaker 4: There aren't a lot of awards for comedy, and it's
- 5:34Speaker 4: pretty overlooked like in movies. But for what I do,
- 5:40Speaker 4: it's yes, the award I think to get. And again
- 5:45Speaker 4: there's not many for this particular brand of show business.
- 5:49Speaker 4: So I was very grateful.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so they call it the Nobel Prize of Comedy.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Good for Mar. He also good for him. He's doing
- 5:59Speaker 1: it an NPR interview and he went after NPR, calling
- 6:03Speaker 1: it an extreme, far left outlet. And of course the
- 6:07Speaker 1: NPR host you know, they always whispered, he's NPR hosts.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They always talk like this, And he said, I think
- 6:14Speaker 1: you'd be surprised at how diverse we are. I'd be stunned.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'd be shocked if you were diverse. But he really
- 6:24Speaker 1: told them off right on NPR good, and he said,
- 6:28Speaker 1: start engaging with the argument, stop attacking the Republicans, engage
- 6:33Speaker 1: with the argument.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Hey.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Also he defended Louis c k who, of course was canceled,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and it was pretty disgusting. He was, you know, would
- 6:46Speaker 1: get a woman into his hotel room usually somebody's working
- 6:49Speaker 1: with or something, or get him into his office and
- 6:53Speaker 1: then he would remove his pants and masturbate in front
- 6:58Speaker 1: of them. Now I don't get this fetish at all.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I mean, he did it a couple of times. That's
- 7:03Speaker 1: why I got canceled. I mean, if you're going to
- 7:05Speaker 1: do that, you really can do it by yourself. Has
- 7:09Speaker 1: he ever heard of porn? I mean, you don't need
- 7:11Speaker 1: to have an actual person in the room. And the
- 7:13Speaker 1: strange part is he wouldn't just pull down his pants.
- 7:16Speaker 1: He would take them off, fold them, drape them over
- 7:20Speaker 1: the chair. It's just insane. So I guess he deserved it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I mean, that's disgusting. He deserves to be ostracized. But
- 7:27Speaker 1: Bill Maher is arguing, and he has a point here.
- 7:31Speaker 1: He said he might have done enough show business jail time.
- 7:35Speaker 1: He understands canceling and understands you go to show business jail,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but he said, like regular jail, there's got to be
- 7:42Speaker 1: a limit. You know, this is not life in prison
- 7:46Speaker 1: for this. He said, this should be like a ten
- 7:47Speaker 1: year punishment. He said, it's been ten years for this guy.
- 7:51Speaker 1: That's enough for this kind of crime. You wouldn't get life,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you'd get ten years in jail. So he's saying, after
- 7:57Speaker 1: a few years, let him out of show biz jail.
- 8:00Speaker 1: He said, you know, he's got a very popular podcast
- 8:04Speaker 1: in a popular HBO show, and he said he brought
- 8:07Speaker 1: back people. He brought Kevin Spacey back and Woody Allen,
- 8:11Speaker 1: and he's invited Louis c k to come to this
- 8:15Speaker 1: Mark Twain Awards. So he's got a point. I mean,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I understand canceling the guy, but it doesn't have to
- 8:21Speaker 1: be permanent. Just like sending somebody to jail. You could
- 8:24Speaker 1: send him for life, you could send him for for
- 8:25Speaker 1: two years, five years. So good point. You know, Lindsey Graham,
- 8:32Speaker 1: his sister has replaced him in the Senate and now
- 8:36Speaker 1: this is the temporary appointment the election elections in November,
- 8:42Speaker 1: but the governor points somebody to fill the seat till January.
- 8:46Speaker 1: But President Trump surprised everybody, urging Lindsey Graham's sister to
- 8:50Speaker 1: run in November. He said, there's nobody better. He said,
- 8:55Speaker 1: he met with her. She came to meet with President Trump,
- 8:58Speaker 1: and he asked her for the good of the nation,
- 9:01Speaker 1: to run for the US Senate in the real election
- 9:04Speaker 1: coming up. He said, I hope she does. This is
- 9:06Speaker 1: nobody better. Now she's married, she as a family. I
- 9:10Speaker 1: don't know what she wants to do. I don't know
- 9:12Speaker 1: if it's something that she wants. But he's asking her
- 9:16Speaker 1: to run. Pretty interesting. Tom Holman saying, now, when it
- 9:21Speaker 1: comes to ice agents, the problem is everybody wanted to
- 9:24Speaker 1: have body cameras, but you got, you know, hundreds of
- 9:26Speaker 1: thousands of ice agents. It's a lot of body cameras,
- 9:29Speaker 1: and you got to have a little training to wear it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: So it takes time to get them all, every one
- 9:34Speaker 1: of them wired up. But what Holman's doing is they
- 9:37Speaker 1: work in teams, so he wants at least one person
- 9:40Speaker 1: on every team to have the body cam so people
- 9:43Speaker 1: can see what happened in these in these incidents, Hey,
- 9:48Speaker 1: is this sleazy or nut sleezy? President Trump has his
- 9:51Speaker 1: own Twitter It's called truth Social. He started it. Now actually,
- 9:56Speaker 1: at this point he owns I think fifty three percent
- 9:58Speaker 1: of it. It's not all him, but it's his own
- 10:02Speaker 1: truth social and he came out with this thing yesterday
- 10:08Speaker 1: they had launched or over the weekend. If you're a
- 10:10Speaker 1: big company or a business or whoever, you're a hedge fund,
- 10:13Speaker 1: you can pay a monthly fee one hundred thousand a month,
- 10:18Speaker 1: a lot of money. And when President Trump is going
- 10:21Speaker 1: to tweet something, you'll get it early before everybody else.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And a lot of times, if he's tweeting something about
- 10:28Speaker 1: a business or an industry or something, it can make
- 10:31Speaker 1: a stock shoot up. That's why a hedge fund would
- 10:34Speaker 1: want it early, find out before everybody else, because then
- 10:39Speaker 1: they could buy the stock. If he's going to say
- 10:41Speaker 1: something about Tesla or something or whatever, you could buy
- 10:45Speaker 1: Tesla real fast. Or if he's gonna say something bad
- 10:48Speaker 1: about Tesla, you could sell it real fast. So it
- 10:51Speaker 1: sounds like insider trading. And you'd pay one hundred thousand
- 10:54Speaker 1: a month for access to this. Now to me, it
- 10:57Speaker 1: sounds pretty slazy, And if you're the president in the
- 11:00Speaker 1: United States, you shouldn't. It's legal, I guess, but you
- 11:03Speaker 1: shouldn't be doing this. But in his defense, it turns
- 11:07Speaker 1: out now he doesn't run the company and he only
- 11:09Speaker 1: owns fifty three percent of it. It turns out I
- 11:11Speaker 1: didn't know this that other platforms do this. Twitter has
- 11:15Speaker 1: this service, so it's not just some crazy thing he
- 11:18Speaker 1: came up with. Apparently other platforms have it. And if
- 11:22Speaker 1: you're a hedge fund that if you watch the show Billions,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you know that's what they're after, and that's what they'll
- 11:29Speaker 1: pay for. Inside info, stuff that doesn't public yet, get
- 11:33Speaker 1: information before anybody else, that kind of stuff. And these guys,
- 11:39Speaker 1: when it's going to be a tweet, you get it
- 11:42Speaker 1: ahead of everybody. I don't know what that means. Does
- 11:44Speaker 1: it mean five minutes, ten minutes? But hedge funds are
- 11:47Speaker 1: equipped to respond in a microsecond, so it would still
- 11:51Speaker 1: help them. Doesn't sound great, but again, other platforms have
- 11:55Speaker 1: all been doing it, so if that's what the other
- 11:57Speaker 1: platforms do, his certainly has a right to keep up
- 12:00Speaker 1: with the rest of the industry. Amazon is announced they're
- 12:04Speaker 1: building a facility in Wholebrook out in Long Island. You
- 12:09Speaker 1: know it sounds good. I'm building a facility. This is
- 12:12Speaker 1: Amazon boy. When they build a facility, it's a one
- 12:15Speaker 1: billion dollar facility. It's one hundred and forty acres. One
- 12:21Speaker 1: hundred and forty acres. Now it's going to be a
- 12:24Speaker 1: huge fulfillment center. They got to build these all over
- 12:29Speaker 1: the place. You don't realize what it takes to get
- 12:30Speaker 1: these packages to you. You order something that's there the
- 12:33Speaker 1: next day, it's a fulfillment center. Four million square foot building,
- 12:41Speaker 1: four million square feet this building, the ceilings are seventy
- 12:45Speaker 1: five feet high. That's because if you've seen inside these
- 12:48Speaker 1: fulfillment centers, they're just it looks like a Costco, but
- 12:52Speaker 1: ten times the size. With these big forklifts that are
- 12:55Speaker 1: all robotic, going up picking up whatever items you order.
- 12:59Speaker 1: It's unbelo it's the most advanced robotics you've ever seen,
- 13:03Speaker 1: getting packages off shelves, putting them into orders. This will
- 13:08Speaker 1: be a fulfillment center. It'll get your order ready and
- 13:09Speaker 1: then it'll be delivered. Trucks will pick it up there.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And now listen to this. It's not only four million
- 13:15Speaker 1: square feet, it's only one hundred and forty acres. This
- 13:17Speaker 1: facility will have parking for twenty one hundred vehicles. Twenty
- 13:23Speaker 1: one hundred vehicles. That this is the kind of stuff
- 13:26Speaker 1: you want because it's great for business. But on the
- 13:29Speaker 1: other hand, as I said, it's all robotic normally to
- 13:33Speaker 1: get a facility like that, can you imagine the jobs
- 13:35Speaker 1: that would create. Well for robots, yes, a lot of jobs,
- 13:40Speaker 1: but twenty one hundred vehicles means drivers at this point.
- 13:43Speaker 1: At some point those will be robotic. Hey, Legionaire's disease,
- 13:47Speaker 1: let me just give you the latest. They are now
- 13:49Speaker 1: three dead. And let me just point out something. When
- 13:52Speaker 1: you hear more dead, oh, another death, that's a lagging indicator.
- 13:58Speaker 1: That doesn't mean there's a the outbreak is increasing. If
- 14:02Speaker 1: you get Legionnaire's disease, it's going to be a week
- 14:04Speaker 1: or two before you die. So if if the number
- 14:07Speaker 1: spiking now means the spike was a week ago for
- 14:10Speaker 1: the disease spreading, it's actually coming down. There's less cases
- 14:13Speaker 1: of Legionnaires. As it comes down, the death number will
- 14:16Speaker 1: go up, but that's from people that contracted it a
- 14:20Speaker 1: week ago when it was higher. Hey, we'll take some calls. Next.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten Mark simone
- 14:32Speaker 1: on seven ten. Wo Hey, we'll take some calls. Actually,
- 14:38Speaker 1: let's get some new callers. If you never called before,
- 14:40Speaker 1: call us eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Is the number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Let's go to Lee in New Jersey. Lee, how you doing?
- 14:53Speaker 6: Hi? How are you? Thank you for taking my call? Thanks,
- 14:57Speaker 6: got a new caller. This is my fourth call. H
- 15:00Speaker 6: I used to live in North Babylon, Long Island. Okay, yeah,
- 15:06Speaker 6: well that was what I was younger. But anyway, where
- 15:09Speaker 6: did they find all that square footage? Because Long Island
- 15:12Speaker 6: is so built up, like tod they just create a
- 15:14Speaker 6: new town somewhere because to put an Amazon censer out there,
- 15:18Speaker 6: where did they find all that square page that?
- 15:22Speaker 1: That's why it's in Holebrook. That's why it's not in
- 15:24Speaker 1: the middle of Garden City. You got to go out
- 15:26Speaker 1: to Wholebrook to get that much square footage probably, you know, I.
- 15:29Speaker 6: Mean even going out to the Hamptons and stuff. I mean,
- 15:32Speaker 6: there's still you know, a lot of towns out there.
- 15:35Speaker 6: But I was thinking about they're going to have robots
- 15:37Speaker 6: working it, but they're still going to have a lot
- 15:39Speaker 6: of delivery trucks, which is good for people that need
- 15:43Speaker 6: a job, but they're going to clog the roads like crazy.
- 15:46Speaker 6: You ever been on the Belt Parkway. I mean it's
- 15:49Speaker 6: like coming in from Long Island.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Well you should talk here in New Jersey. You ever
- 15:53Speaker 1: been on River Road? Try to drive that?
- 15:56Speaker 6: Well, yeah, that's not too far for me.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Actually, yeah, well you can't get down there. You know,
- 16:01Speaker 1: I don't know you people in New Jersey were thinking.
- 16:03Speaker 1: You built five thousand skyscrapers on the waterfront and you
- 16:06Speaker 1: have the same two roads. It's clotted.
- 16:09Speaker 6: This is very nice. It's like a lot of room
- 16:12Speaker 6: room to breed. Don't tell everybody now that I just did,
- 16:15Speaker 6: because they were going to move for you.
- 16:16Speaker 1: But yeah, Lee, thanks for calling. Great call. Let's go
- 16:20Speaker 1: to Justin and fair Lawn. Justin. How you doing.
- 16:24Speaker 7: Oh, it's great to speak with you. Mark. Yeah. Memories
- 16:27Speaker 7: of House's Amusement Park was one of the only salt
- 16:31Speaker 7: water pools in the country. Away Pool I IRV. Rosenvelt
- 16:37Speaker 7: was the actual owner and I worked there and he
- 16:39Speaker 7: was very personal. You get all the people working there.
- 16:43Speaker 7: I used to work the hot doork stand and I
- 16:45Speaker 7: met some good personalities. Bush the Crab, A Flash Gordon.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Oh my god, wait give me a minute, Buster Crab.
- 16:52Speaker 1: You know, nobody under one hundred and twelve is going
- 16:54Speaker 1: to know who that is, but.
- 16:55Speaker 7: Well I'm one hundred and fifteen, so not the word.
- 16:57Speaker 1: But if you watch the Honeymooners episode, he's mentioned and
- 17:00Speaker 1: then one of them.
- 17:01Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's very true. And they had Freddy Cannon
- 17:04Speaker 7: did the actual performance there. It was incredible.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Okay, but let me ask you something. It was a
- 17:09Speaker 1: big amusement park, uh for fort Lely, right was it
- 17:13Speaker 1: Edgewater Fortly?
- 17:14Speaker 7: But well yeah, more so towards cliff Side Park.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Cliff Side Park.
- 17:19Speaker 7: I think the Uide Park here.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I think the Winston Towers apartment buildings sit on what
- 17:23Speaker 1: used to be the Palisade Park Park.
- 17:25Speaker 7: Right, and the Pallisadium is there too. But here's a question.
- 17:30Speaker 1: It was so popular what what closed it? Why did
- 17:33Speaker 1: it close?
- 17:34Speaker 7: In nineteen seventy one that the neighbor is the hood changed,
- 17:38Speaker 7: there were a lot of bars and other areas, and
- 17:42Speaker 7: what happened was there were a lot of if I
- 17:45Speaker 7: was drinking and that's good out and we got worse.
- 17:51Speaker 7: So it just he decided to shut it down and
- 17:54Speaker 7: sell it. And but it was extremely popular my day
- 17:59Speaker 7: back in the eighteen.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it was a big deal.
- 18:01Speaker 7: All right.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Well thanks for calling good stuff. Let's go to Adam
- 18:05Speaker 1: in New Jersey. Adam, how you doing?
- 18:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm just a little down a bit, you know,
- 18:11Speaker 6: wondering what happened to peace movement that in America?
- 18:14Speaker 7: Where's the Joan baiages?
- 18:16Speaker 1: And you know what I'm saying, assisted living right now?
- 18:23Speaker 1: What happened to Joe and Bias peace movement? You still
- 18:26Speaker 1: got it?
- 18:27Speaker 6: I don't see nothing in the streets.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Oh, you should get a television set. It's a change
- 18:32Speaker 1: your life. Get one of those flat screens. You can
- 18:34Speaker 1: turn it on and watch MSNBC and you'll see peace
- 18:37Speaker 1: marches all over the place, protesting the war, protesting Trump,
- 18:42Speaker 1: no kings. You'll even see those peace signs. They brought
- 18:45Speaker 1: them back. They're all wearing those things. Now, let's go
- 18:48Speaker 1: to Mike and Portchester. Mike, how you doing all right?
- 18:52Speaker 7: Mark? I called because you always talk about Greenwich. Have
- 18:57Speaker 7: you ever been to Portchester?
- 18:58Speaker 1: I've been to Colony Peace so they're probably the nicest
- 19:01Speaker 1: looking Colony Pizza and even got an outdoor deck overlooking
- 19:04Speaker 1: the water. I've been to Costco there.
- 19:06Speaker 7: I've been to isn't that work About's restaurant?
- 19:11Speaker 1: TNJ is very very good. That's a great Italian restaurant.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I went there with Fred Camillo. Oh and also you
- 19:19Speaker 1: got Sergio saw Pit. That's one of the great Italian restaurants.
- 19:23Speaker 7: That's right, that's right.
- 19:25Speaker 1: See do I pass the tex Passqually's is very good too,
- 19:29Speaker 1: and there's a lot of good stuff. And you got
- 19:31Speaker 1: an AMC movie theater there. See I know my way
- 19:33Speaker 1: around port Chester.
- 19:36Speaker 7: All right, Well, listen when you talk to Vincent. Uh huh,
- 19:39Speaker 7: give him a phrase from me in Italian?
- 19:41Speaker 1: All right, thank you, good, all right, go ahead.
- 19:45Speaker 7: For Mayor Mondani. Okay, go ahead, give him a new name,
- 19:50Speaker 7: zero moo Donnie.
- 19:53Speaker 1: All right, work on that, a little tweak that a
- 19:55Speaker 1: little Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 20:00Speaker 5: Come on?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Okay, no, good morning to.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Listen, right, not just good morning to you. Mark, I
- 20:06Speaker 5: heard the first part of the show, Zando Mundani. Mark.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I believe that city council speaker Julia Manning is a
- 20:14Speaker 5: fraud and she's just as leftists as all the rest
- 20:17Speaker 5: of the leftists on the city Council. But she comes
- 20:21Speaker 5: off better because she wears nicer clothes and has a
- 20:24Speaker 5: better hairddress and has better.
- 20:26Speaker 1: People in play, but she can be common sense at times.
- 20:29Speaker 5: Yeah, but here's all right, here's the butt mark. Last
- 20:32Speaker 5: week and the photo was in the post, she did
- 20:35Speaker 5: a photo op with Michael mulgrew, the president of the
- 20:39Speaker 5: Teachers Union, and there was one of his quoties there.
- 20:43Speaker 5: She made a side deal with the teacher's aides beyond
- 20:50Speaker 5: the raisers. They already got the teachers and the aids
- 20:53Speaker 5: in their contract. She cut a side deal that wasn't
- 20:57Speaker 5: negotiated with anybody if each teachers aid a ten thousand
- 21:02Speaker 5: dollars additional rays Mark. She is the one who sponsored
- 21:09Speaker 5: that law before Eric adams term was up, that says
- 21:15Speaker 5: we have to offer our buildings when they're for sale
- 21:18Speaker 5: to these NGOs. And even though she didn't have enough votes,
- 21:24Speaker 5: there wasn't veto proof Eric Adams are just played dead,
- 21:29Speaker 5: and Mondani signed it to law. She just us.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I know what you're saying. She is more common sense,
- 21:36Speaker 1: but you're right, she's being Chuck shumorist, afraid to stand
- 21:39Speaker 1: up to these crazy left and she's exactly that. Next day,
- 21:42Speaker 1: Vincent got it. We gotta go do the news. But okay,
- 21:46Speaker 1: good point. Thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back,
- 21:49Speaker 1: John Fund, the great writer columnist you know, Wall Street Journal,
- 21:54Speaker 1: the Committee on Lash Prosperity and no better expert on
- 21:58Speaker 1: our elections? Are they safe? Are they going to be? Okay?
- 22:00Speaker 1: This time? No better expert. We'll talk to him next
- 22:03Speaker 1: on seven to ten. Woor Welcome back to the Mark
- 22:07Speaker 1: Simone Show Live from the WR Life Back Studios. Well
- 22:15Speaker 1: John Fund, the brilliant writer columnist, Wall Street Journal, National Review,
- 22:20Speaker 1: working that runs the Committee to Unleashed Prosperity. And he's
- 22:23Speaker 1: written a book that came out a little while ago.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But you got to read this book. It's called Our
- 22:27Speaker 1: Broken Elections, really explains things to you. Very important book
- 22:32Speaker 1: are Broken Elections, And it's good to having back with us.
- 22:35Speaker 1: John Fund, how you doing pleasure? Thanks?
- 22:39Speaker 2: The Canadians or invasion has more or less gone away.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Well, but it could start again. President Trump is right
- 22:46Speaker 1: to get on them. They could do some forests maintenance,
- 22:50Speaker 1: make sure this doesn't happen again, can't they?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Both Canada and the US don't allow controlled burns in
- 22:59Speaker 2: a lot of their government land, and that's one of
- 23:02Speaker 2: the reasons we have these fires.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's time to stop listening to these climate
- 23:07Speaker 1: change nuts. They're wrong. About some things, and this is
- 23:10Speaker 1: certainly one of them. Hey, before we get to the elections,
- 23:12Speaker 1: let me ask you something about great Britain got a
- 23:14Speaker 1: new prime minister today? What does that mean for us?
- 23:20Speaker 1: It means, I.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Think, sadly that the new Labor Party Prime minister is
- 23:26Speaker 2: going to have a honeymoon and Britain will, briefly until
- 23:31Speaker 2: they get disappointed, rally around him. This guy is trouble.
- 23:34Speaker 2: He spoke to the Labor Party conference last week and
- 23:39Speaker 2: said all of our problems are either because of Thatcher
- 23:42Speaker 2: or the United States. We have to nationalize various industries.
- 23:46Speaker 2: In other words, we need our socialism. The kind of
- 23:50Speaker 2: democratic socialists we have in America are now actually in
- 23:53Speaker 2: charge in Britain.
- 23:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I asked, Hey. The other problem is whatever happens,
- 24:00Speaker 1: have a.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Nice cup of tea.
- 24:02Speaker 1: But often what happens in Britain is like the canary
- 24:06Speaker 1: in the coal mine about what's going to happen here?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Does that?
- 24:08Speaker 6: Well?
- 24:09Speaker 2: The good news is, you know, the Labor Party is
- 24:13Speaker 2: extremely unpopular because they've done nothing to solve Britain's underlying
- 24:16Speaker 2: economic or social or immigration problems. And as a result,
- 24:21Speaker 2: Nigel Farage is still the favor to become the next
- 24:23Speaker 2: British Prime minister. After this, we just have we just
- 24:26Speaker 2: have to wait a couple of years for an election,
- 24:29Speaker 2: and that's why they're doing so much to try to
- 24:31Speaker 2: discredit Nigel Farage. And Look, the real issue that we
- 24:36Speaker 2: have to worry about is, you know, Britain is seeing
- 24:38Speaker 2: an upsurge in left wing political violence. We just had
- 24:41Speaker 2: that former cabinet minister who was brutally murdered in her
- 24:44Speaker 2: home at age seventy eight. Nigel Farage has been threatened
- 24:48Speaker 2: by people who've been arrested for that. One of the
- 24:51Speaker 2: people who is in jail for threatening Nigel Farage is
- 24:54Speaker 2: sending out TikTok videos threatening other people. We have a
- 24:58Speaker 2: left wing violence problem in this country. My colleague Noah
- 25:01Speaker 2: Roffman at National Review has a new book out on
- 25:04Speaker 2: this subject, and I have to tell you, you remember
- 25:08Speaker 2: that medical executive from United Healthcare who was gunned down
- 25:11Speaker 2: on the streets of New York. Yeah, this is this
- 25:14Speaker 2: is not an isolated phenomenon. We are seeing Antifa and
- 25:19Speaker 2: people who want to threaten and intimidate their opponents all
- 25:24Speaker 2: over this country. Look, I'm not an apologist for the
- 25:27Speaker 2: January sixth people. I think some of those people should
- 25:30Speaker 2: have gone to jail, but they are dwarfed by the
- 25:33Speaker 2: number of left wingers who are ignored by the media,
- 25:36Speaker 2: who are constantly out there threatening people and have trumped
- 25:39Speaker 2: arrangement syndrome.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So this crazy move to the left, the Democrats, the
- 25:43Speaker 1: socialist mom all this the violence. How do you bring
- 25:47Speaker 1: this to an end? Will it ever end? Will the
- 25:48Speaker 1: cycle change?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Well, the first thing we have to do is make
- 25:53Speaker 2: sure that people understand that if they act violently or
- 25:56Speaker 2: threaten people, they will be prosecuted or they will be discipline.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I think that's the most important thing. We need to
- 26:03Speaker 2: keep political disagreements non violent. So what we have to
- 26:08Speaker 2: do politically is I think the Democratic Party is going
- 26:13Speaker 2: to have to burn out this themselves. They are going
- 26:16Speaker 2: to have to start losing elections general elections. It's one
- 26:19Speaker 2: thing to elect someone in Mondami. Like Mandami, you know,
- 26:22Speaker 2: this is a city where Donald Trump got twenty five
- 26:25Speaker 2: percent of the vote. Denver, Colorado, Kamala Harris won with
- 26:30Speaker 2: eighty five percent of the vote. They have to start
- 26:32Speaker 2: losing elections in places like Michigan, where I think this
- 26:35Speaker 2: guy Abdulla al said is going to be the Democratic candidate.
- 26:38Speaker 2: That's the way that the Democratic Party is going to
- 26:40Speaker 2: have to be convinced you're going over the deep end
- 26:43Speaker 2: and it's time to pull back. Listen to John Fetterman.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Don't primary John Fetterman.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Well, Fetterman is great, but you got too many Chuck
- 26:51Speaker 1: Schumer King Jeffrey types who are afraid to speak up,
- 26:54Speaker 1: afraid to say anything.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Well, if I were Chuck Schumer and I were how
- 26:58Speaker 2: King Jeffries, I would be afraid to because they could
- 27:01Speaker 2: lose Democratic primaries in New York and so I understand
- 27:04Speaker 2: their political hesitation. But remember, if you're trying to become
- 27:08Speaker 2: a leader, you're supposed to lead, and these people have
- 27:11Speaker 2: the courage of other people's convictions, namely the Democratic Socialists.
- 27:16Speaker 1: He now, I've got midterms coming up. You're the expert
- 27:18Speaker 1: on these election practices. Is it any better? Is the
- 27:22Speaker 1: election any more secure in state by the state by state?
- 27:26Speaker 5: Yes?
- 27:27Speaker 1: Oh good.
- 27:27Speaker 5: Yes.
- 27:28Speaker 2: We have about twenty eight states that have pretty solid
- 27:32Speaker 2: voter ID laws. We have many states that are trying
- 27:35Speaker 2: to also improve ballot security for mail in ballots. I
- 27:41Speaker 2: think we're going to see four more efforts to try
- 27:43Speaker 2: to require proof of citizenship in order to first register
- 27:46Speaker 2: to vote. Our elections are better than they were in
- 27:48Speaker 2: twenty twenty four, and certainly much better than they were
- 27:51Speaker 2: in twenty twenty. However, I think that the real problem
- 27:57Speaker 2: we have is there is an enthusiasm gap in this election.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Democrats are far more enthusiastic about voting against Donald Trump
- 28:05Speaker 2: and his friends than Republicans are and supporting, you know,
- 28:10Speaker 2: the big beautiful tax bill or the other things that
- 28:12Speaker 2: have been accomplished. I think Donald Trump hass to have
- 28:15Speaker 2: a take a Hail Mary pass between now and the election.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I think he should issue an executive order mark where
- 28:22Speaker 2: he says, if you own a house, if you have
- 28:25Speaker 2: a stock market portfolio, we're going to index that to
- 28:28Speaker 2: capital gains, so you don't pay taxes on the illusionary
- 28:32Speaker 2: inflationary gains. If you sell your house, you sell your
- 28:36Speaker 2: stock portfolio. And I think that that would boost the economy.
- 28:40Speaker 2: It would be fair we index everything else in our economy,
- 28:42Speaker 2: including the tax brackets that we pay money on. And
- 28:46Speaker 2: I think that he can do that simply with a
- 28:48Speaker 2: reinterpretation of the IRS codes using executive order.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's brilliant and it would work, and it's great
- 28:56Speaker 1: but wouldn't that rile up Democrats media even more when
- 28:59Speaker 1: they go even crazy here.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Well, already it's a ten out of ten. So I
- 29:05Speaker 2: don't know what else could they could do. And the
- 29:07Speaker 2: point is the point is even they, you know, would understand, Hey,
- 29:14Speaker 2: my house which I bought for five hundred thousand and
- 29:16Speaker 2: which is now worth a million, I wouldn't have to
- 29:19Speaker 2: pay any money on the inflationary gains that I have
- 29:23Speaker 2: with you're illusory, and I would save money too. So
- 29:27Speaker 2: I think it would be a win win for most people,
- 29:29Speaker 2: and it would affect everyone, including the middle class, including
- 29:33Speaker 2: people who just have you know, a small ira include
- 29:38Speaker 2: it would help everyone. And as we've already learned, whenever
- 29:41Speaker 2: we cut the capital gains tax, we end up with
- 29:43Speaker 2: more revenue, not with less revenue.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, John, fun this Save America Act? How important
- 29:49Speaker 1: is this? Is it really important? Would it really get
- 29:52Speaker 1: a lot done? Would it really do anything?
- 29:55Speaker 5: Well?
- 29:55Speaker 2: I think it does have to be structured in such
- 29:58Speaker 2: a way that it doesn't unduly interfere with the rights
- 30:01Speaker 2: of the states to conduct their elections. Having said that, look,
- 30:05Speaker 2: the federal government sends money to the states to support
- 30:08Speaker 2: their election systems. They have a right under current law
- 30:11Speaker 2: to demand that the voter registration roles be cleaned up.
- 30:14Speaker 2: They usually aren't in blue states. In New York City,
- 30:18Speaker 2: no marketer or whatever use a voter registration is to
- 30:20Speaker 2: try to sell anyone anything, because twenty percent of the
- 30:23Speaker 2: names are outdated, people who are dead, people who don't exist.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I think that we do have to clean up the
- 30:30Speaker 2: election roles. I think the federal government is probably not
- 30:34Speaker 2: going to have the Save America Vote Act in place
- 30:36Speaker 2: for this election, which is why in going forward, the
- 30:40Speaker 2: federal government has to sue the states clean up your
- 30:42Speaker 2: voter rolls or you're not going to get any federal money.
- 30:44Speaker 2: And I think that we're going to have to go
- 30:46Speaker 2: back and try for the Save America Vote Act next
- 30:50Speaker 2: session of Congress because I don't want to get rid
- 30:52Speaker 2: of the philibuster. I don't know how you feel about this, market.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I think the filibuster is a great guaranteur of minority
- 30:58Speaker 2: rights and we should we should get we get rid
- 31:01Speaker 2: of it at our peril.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, got a minute, So left the Democrats so
- 31:06Speaker 1: far to the left, is this last time this happened?
- 31:10Speaker 1: You have like a Bill Clinton, rise up and lead
- 31:12Speaker 1: them back to the middle. Is that going to happen again?
- 31:14Speaker 1: Will it be a Fetterman or somebody that could do that?
- 31:17Speaker 2: Good question? The answer is how many elections do they
- 31:20Speaker 2: lose because they have the looney left and on their
- 31:24Speaker 2: ticket as candidates? And I think that's the only solution
- 31:28Speaker 2: for this. Politicians do not have ideas, they have ambitions,
- 31:33Speaker 2: and if their ambitions are thwarted by the fact that
- 31:35Speaker 2: their party has moved too far to the left, they
- 31:37Speaker 2: will as if Bill Clinton or Tony Blair when the
- 31:40Speaker 2: Labor Party lost three elections to Margaret Thatcher, they will adjust.
- 31:44Speaker 2: We have to beat them in order for them to
- 31:48Speaker 2: get common sense.
- 31:49Speaker 1: All right, Well, great stuff, John fun brilliant as always.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Get his book Are Broken Elections. It's excellent. And what's
- 31:56Speaker 1: the best place to read your National Review or.

- 33:00Speaker 1: listening to Mark on the iHeart Radio app, save time
- 33:03Speaker 1: and tap the preset button.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Now.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on woors Hey,
- 33:10Speaker 1: remember last week the President leaving Turkey had to use
- 33:14Speaker 1: the old Air Force one. That beautiful New Cutter donated
- 33:19Speaker 1: flying palace was taken. The President didn't use it. And
- 33:24Speaker 1: remember I told you it lacked anti missile defense. It
- 33:27Speaker 1: didn't have It had a lot of stuff, but it
- 33:29Speaker 1: didn't have the anti missile defense the old Air Force
- 33:32Speaker 1: one had. So the White Houses officially confirmed that and
- 33:36Speaker 1: announced today that Cutter Air Force one will go out
- 33:40Speaker 1: of service for at least a month or two. It
- 33:44Speaker 1: will get that anti missile defense installed in. It's going
- 33:47Speaker 1: to take a couple of months. So it's back to
- 33:49Speaker 1: the old Air Force one now for at least the
- 33:52Speaker 1: next month, maybe longer. Hey, we're out of time. It's
- 33:55Speaker 1: going to be a beautiful day today, absolute beautiful. If
- 33:57Speaker 1: you're going to play hooky, do it today because tomorrow
- 34:00Speaker 1: a lot of rain. I'll be back tomorrow ten to noon.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Every weekday ten to noon, you should be here too,
- 34:07Speaker 1: seven ten wor
