- 0:53Speaker 1: they've they've let me back in for today, tomorrow and
- 0:56Speaker 1: most of next week. We'll see how much mischief we
- 0:59Speaker 1: can make.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'm glad to hear they give you your badge back.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yes, right, right, Well, there was some concern about whether
- 1:06Speaker 1: Retire Smart would have me back after my last go
- 1:09Speaker 1: round here, but all is well, at least so far.
- 1:12Speaker 1: We'll see what wish if we can make today, tomorrow
- 1:15Speaker 1: and next week. I do not know. I don't know
- 1:18Speaker 1: if it's a secret, undisclosed, top secret thing. I don't
- 1:21Speaker 1: know where the Honorable Gene Stothard is, but I assume
- 1:25Speaker 1: it's related to the Memorial Day holiday, and she's having
- 1:30Speaker 1: some well deserved R and R and so we're gonna
- 1:36Speaker 1: it'll be me with you for the better part of
- 1:39Speaker 1: the next week or so. I'm very excited to have
- 1:44Speaker 1: with us in the studio today. I'm just gonna go
- 1:47Speaker 1: ahead and call it. He is the foremost local patriot
- 1:50Speaker 1: in our community, the one, the only Bill Williams. Bill,
- 1:54Speaker 1: Welcome to the show.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Please to be here, Chip, thanks for having me.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Bill and his wife Yvonne, of course started patriotic productions,
- 2:03Speaker 1: and I'm going to use this opportunity today Bill to
- 2:08Speaker 1: kind of review the whole history of patriotic productions. But
- 2:11Speaker 1: first in case, you know, we have a lot of
- 2:13Speaker 1: people who maybe can't listen to the whole show. There
- 2:15Speaker 1: are big doings at Memorial Park tomorrow night. It's the
- 2:19Speaker 1: latest iteration of patriotic productions celebrating Memorial Day weekend. Give
- 2:25Speaker 1: us the rundown on Tomorrow night.
- 2:27Speaker 3: So Friday night, we have the world's largest American flag
- 2:33Speaker 3: two hundred and fifty by five five one hundred and
- 2:37Speaker 3: twenty six thousand square feet, weighs three thousand pounds, takes
- 2:41Speaker 3: a minimum of six hundred and fifty people to unfurl it.
- 2:46Speaker 3: So we will combine that with a drone show from
- 2:50Speaker 3: Fantasy Drones out of Norfolk.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Who do they do?
- 2:53Speaker 3: Unl games and events all over the country. That will
- 2:56Speaker 3: be four hundred red, white and blue lights. And our
- 3:01Speaker 3: special guest from Ireland passing through Boston to get here
- 3:06Speaker 3: is doctor Ronan Tynan, and folks might remember him. He's
- 3:11Speaker 3: a former member of the Irish Tenors and he's famous
- 3:15Speaker 3: for singing God Bless America at Yankee Stadium after nine
- 3:19Speaker 3: to eleven, also funerals for Presidents Reagan and George Herbert
- 3:24Speaker 3: Walker Bush.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'm a Yankee fan. I very well remember Ronan Tynan
- 3:27Speaker 1: becoming a thing. He would sing the whole there's a
- 3:29Speaker 1: little coda before the actual God Bless America. He would
- 3:34Speaker 1: sing the whole thing and was just gorgeous. So he'll
- 3:39Speaker 1: be there, So give us the run of show bill
- 3:43Speaker 1: because I know you're inviting people to come listen. I'll
- 3:46Speaker 1: be there, but I don't know if you and I
- 3:47Speaker 1: alone can handle the three thousand pound flag. We're gonna
- 3:50Speaker 1: need some help.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I think we're gonna need a lot of So six o'clock.
- 3:53Speaker 1: If you want to train, let's start there. Show up
- 3:55Speaker 1: at six to get some training for how tol the flag.
- 3:58Speaker 3: So the flag people and a it's on its way
- 4:00Speaker 3: from California. Last I talked to him, they were in Colorado,
- 4:04Speaker 3: and so they're coming in with this huge flag and
- 4:09Speaker 3: what'll happen tomorrow morning? It'll come out of the truck.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Apparently it's like a long worm that'll lay up against
- 4:17Speaker 3: the top of a memorial park. The plan is to
- 4:20Speaker 3: cover it in plastic to keep the rain off of it,
- 4:24Speaker 3: and then at six o'clock they'll be training, so to speak.
- 4:29Speaker 3: We won't unfurl it, but it's going to class for
- 4:33Speaker 3: five hundred people if we can get five hundred there
- 4:35Speaker 3: at six to learn how. The actual unfurling will take
- 4:39Speaker 3: place around nine o'clock. So we encourage folks to consider
- 4:44Speaker 3: coming at five to be part of this. We have
- 4:46Speaker 3: food trucks lined up. We have one hundred and twenty
- 4:49Speaker 3: foot tent set up yesterday down on the lower part
- 4:53Speaker 3: of a memorial park out of the footprint of those flags.
- 4:58Speaker 3: It's made it a little inner to make sure we
- 5:01Speaker 3: don't get into the space because when it comes down
- 5:04Speaker 3: the hill.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Five and five feet, that's that's almost two football, isn't it.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Because people will say to us, oh, I've seen
- 5:12Speaker 3: it on a college or an NFL game, and I'll say, no, this.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Is too football.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah right, right, So, and what's interesting. I mean, the
- 5:21Speaker 3: weather's it's a little iffy, it's a little effy. But
- 5:25Speaker 3: the flag guy told me, he said, look, if we
- 5:28Speaker 3: can just get a window from say nine pm to
- 5:32Speaker 3: nine thirty where it doesn't rain, he says, we can
- 5:37Speaker 3: do it now if it happens to get not soaked, hopefully,
- 5:40Speaker 3: But if it happens to get wet, he said, really,
- 5:43Speaker 3: that's not a problem because two nights later we do
- 5:46Speaker 3: this in Lincoln. Okay, so he said, any night's going
- 5:49Speaker 3: to be beautiful. Therefore it'll it'll dry and we'll be good.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So the you know, I went online to watch the
- 5:56Speaker 1: New York Giants and some other NFL teams do this
- 5:59Speaker 1: as a regular feature. They unfurl a flag that covers
- 6:02Speaker 1: the field, and the unfurling once you get everybody lined
- 6:07Speaker 1: up and they start walking or running because they're excited
- 6:10Speaker 1: with the flag. I don't know that takes a minute
- 6:12Speaker 1: or two now putting it back. That's actually a little
- 6:16Speaker 1: more of a workout.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that's kind of what I'm interested about. Although I
- 6:20Speaker 3: don't care so much about that. I'm more I'm more picture.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You got okay, so is it like? So we unfurl
- 6:30Speaker 1: it and I mentioned the drones above or taking pictures
- 6:32Speaker 1: or somebody's getting images of this for I don't know,
- 6:35Speaker 1: five or ten minutes, and then we roll it back up.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Okay, So let's back up a little bit.
- 6:39Speaker 3: So what'll happen is that we have entertainment under the tent,
- 6:43Speaker 3: food trucks, et cetera, from six thirty to eight thirty. Okay,
- 6:46Speaker 3: Scott Boorhi's emcy and Scott will be down on the
- 6:50Speaker 3: tent and he'll say, all right, everybody, time to head
- 6:52Speaker 3: up the hill and man your posts, so to speak.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And we have seventeen golf cards rented offering people in
- 7:00Speaker 3: the You know, if you're parking the neighborhoods, you need
- 7:02Speaker 3: a ride toodness brown out talbot u n O is
- 7:07Speaker 3: those parking lots unretod that helps. So think about these
- 7:16Speaker 3: golf carts that well, once people are down maybe watching
- 7:19Speaker 3: the entertainment, now it's time to go up to the
- 7:21Speaker 3: top of the hill. Golf carts will shuttle people up.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Oh nice to take their post and then.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Are the golf carts at the parking lots.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Or they will be all over the so you.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Could get a shuttle from the parking lot into the
- 7:35Speaker 1: park neighborhoods.
- 7:36Speaker 3: We'll send them to free walks north all right, because
- 7:40Speaker 3: these are mostly honor flight veterans that have helped us
- 7:44Speaker 3: going back.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you know the two thousand and eight I want
- 7:47Speaker 1: to ask you about that. Let me let me roll
- 7:51Speaker 1: this out for people. So sometime around nine o'clock, whenever
- 7:54Speaker 1: the right window is is the actual unfriling of the flag.
- 7:57Speaker 1: We enjoy it and then we we've got to put
- 8:00Speaker 1: it back and that will conclude the festivities. So between
- 8:04Speaker 1: the training for unfurling the flag and the unfurling of
- 8:08Speaker 1: the flag, we've got a two hour or so window.
- 8:11Speaker 1: When you say entertainment, what's going on?
- 8:14Speaker 3: So we have there's a quartet called Grateful Heart. We've
- 8:18Speaker 3: used them numerous times over the years, and these guys
- 8:21Speaker 3: do patriotic music. So they'll be on the stage down
- 8:25Speaker 3: behunderneath the tent.
- 8:26Speaker 1: They've been at the Patriotic Parade in recent.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, numerous times.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, they're excellent.
- 8:33Speaker 3: In fact, I think they were the they were the
- 8:36Speaker 3: opening act for Riley Gaines.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Well, now that also figures into our conversation about that
- 8:41Speaker 1: this morning. And then actually, just speaking of the parade,
- 8:47Speaker 1: the logistics got changed on you for the parade, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: so that's why the parade became unworkable.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Well let's let's talk about that a bit. So we
- 8:57Speaker 3: started the parade after the riots downtown and nationally and
- 9:05Speaker 3: a lot of the national narrative was what a horrible, hateful,
- 9:09Speaker 3: racist country America.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I remember you on the air with Gary Saddle. We
- 9:14Speaker 1: got to push back against this. This is a good country.
- 9:17Speaker 1: This is fundamentally good America.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I mean we're you know, most of us buy and
- 9:23Speaker 3: large treat others the way we want to be treated.
- 9:25Speaker 3: We're the most diverse, most generous people in the world.
- 9:28Speaker 3: But the messi's the children and grandchildren get is you
- 9:32Speaker 3: live in this horrible place. So that's why we started
- 9:35Speaker 3: the Patriotic Parade. And we had first year, we had
- 9:38Speaker 3: the Budweiser Clydesdale's.
- 9:40Speaker 2: We had Lee Greenwood.
- 9:41Speaker 3: We had Glee Lee Greenwood another time for a back
- 9:44Speaker 3: to Blue events going support for law enforcement. He's great
- 9:49Speaker 3: to work with. And then we had who else, We
- 9:53Speaker 3: had the Marine Corps band. We had the Army's Fife
- 9:55Speaker 3: and Drum Corps. We had the fort Riley Mounted Guard.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Those guys look like they're riding right out of the
- 10:03Speaker 1: eighteen eighties. They look fantastic, very authentic, very respectful.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Uh yeah, great, great young men and women.
- 10:12Speaker 3: And we would send them over to spaghetti works and
- 10:15Speaker 3: tell the tell the owners, feed them, feed them as
- 10:18Speaker 3: much as they want. The horse yeah, and the horses. See,
- 10:22Speaker 3: the horses were down at the OPD stables.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So cool.
- 10:25Speaker 1: That was why it was a key staging area for you,
- 10:28Speaker 1: right right on the south the southeast edge of the
- 10:31Speaker 1: Old Market there.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 3: And then what happened was then the city decided no
- 10:36Speaker 3: more parades in the Old Market. Everybody's up now by
- 10:40Speaker 3: the what I consider no man's land up around the
- 10:44Speaker 3: stadium as far as businesses.
- 10:46Speaker 1: The north, the north downtown, I mean it.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Loses up there around the stadium. You know, they're all
- 10:52Speaker 3: the ambiance of the Old Market.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So we will.
- 10:56Speaker 1: And the horsepons, I mean, you got a lot of
- 10:58Speaker 1: horses in your parade, and that's staging area was important.
- 11:01Speaker 1: So that became that's too bad. That was the I remember,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I didn't really know you then I went just down
- 11:08Speaker 1: on my own. I went down. I actually climbed up,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you know the bridge, the tenth Street bridge. There's a
- 11:15Speaker 1: giant railing that I climbed up on there so I
- 11:17Speaker 1: could see to my left and my in that year,
- 11:20Speaker 1: in those years, the parade wound up at the Durham
- 11:23Speaker 1: and uh uh and uh and Lee Greenwood sang. He
- 11:28Speaker 1: performed a concert there and uh, oh my god. I
- 11:32Speaker 1: was blown away. And so when the opportunity came along
- 11:35Speaker 1: later for my employer retires Smart to get involved in sponsoring.
- 11:39Speaker 2: This, I sponsor.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I thought it was just fantastic. So we're gonna do
- 11:45Speaker 1: the flag, the flag unfurling on Friday night. Now there's
- 11:49Speaker 1: also Memorial Day itself, so Sunday night in Lincoln, but
- 11:53Speaker 1: then you're back at Memorial Park on Monday right for
- 11:56Speaker 1: Memorial Day.
- 11:57Speaker 3: So last year we took the organization of Memorial Day
- 12:02Speaker 3: at Memorial Park and we turned it inside out, upside down,
- 12:07Speaker 3: so whole new format. We put up the one hundred
- 12:10Speaker 3: foot tent with a thousand chairs. We don't use politicians.
- 12:15Speaker 3: We have reenactors in uniforms and costumes portraying historical figures
- 12:22Speaker 3: and fallen military. We have a gold star a father
- 12:25Speaker 3: last year that just broke the crowd up into tears
- 12:29Speaker 3: because he was he said, I was my son's best
- 12:33Speaker 3: man when he got married. And we have a reenactor
- 12:37Speaker 3: portraying his son and speak as his fallen son. So
- 12:41Speaker 3: this year it'll be similar to that. We have the
- 12:44Speaker 3: skydivers coming in to bring in the colors. We created
- 12:48Speaker 3: Flanders Field of Flags. That's thirteen hundred small flags that
- 12:53Speaker 3: are representative of the one point three million Americans who
- 12:57Speaker 3: have died in all wars. So the flag and field
- 13:00Speaker 3: a flag is there. And the real draw to try
- 13:06Speaker 3: to get young people to come to understand the importance
- 13:10Speaker 3: of Decoration Day, which we now call Memorial Day. And
- 13:14Speaker 3: you know that's that's getting young people to come and
- 13:18Speaker 3: to realize how lucky they are to be American.
- 13:22Speaker 2: So we have free food this year.
- 13:24Speaker 3: It'll be three thousand free pancakes from high Ve's. This
- 13:28Speaker 3: is on Monday, this morning, Memorial Yeah, three thousand pancakes,
- 13:33Speaker 3: free coffee, free orange juice from Highland, free milk, and cookies.
- 13:39Speaker 3: So the draw is once again to get get the
- 13:42Speaker 3: family families to come so these kids get some understanding
- 13:47Speaker 3: of how lucky they are.
- 13:48Speaker 1: If Friday night nine o'clock is too late for you
- 13:51Speaker 1: for your little ones, circle back on Monday morning, and
- 13:56Speaker 1: that would be fantastic. Yeah, the you know, Bill, I'm
- 14:00Speaker 1: looking at my watch and I'm already going to ask
- 14:02Speaker 1: you if it's possible after we do the bottom hour break,
- 14:05Speaker 1: you think you could stick around with us a little longer,
- 14:07Speaker 1: because we're going to have more to cover because I'm
- 14:09Speaker 1: still not done with this weekend and what's coming. First
- 14:12Speaker 1: of all, if this is coming at people like we're
- 14:14Speaker 1: visiting with Bill Williams, by the way, he and his
- 14:17Speaker 1: wife Yvonna, the founders of course have patriotic productions. If
- 14:20Speaker 1: you've just joined us, and we're going to get into
- 14:23Speaker 1: the whole history of the organization here before we're done.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But while we're focused on Memorial Day weekend here, I
- 14:32Speaker 1: know one of the criticisms you've gotten from some circles
- 14:35Speaker 1: is why are you making such a fuss? Why are
- 14:38Speaker 1: you being so celebratory about Memorial Day? Isn't it supposed
- 14:42Speaker 1: to be heavier and somber and so forth. Now, I
- 14:46Speaker 1: think you've been able to strike the right balance between
- 14:50Speaker 1: celebrate America but in a respectful, Uh, you know, not
- 14:56Speaker 1: in a goofy clownish way. How have you struck that
- 15:00Speaker 1: balance over the years.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Well, we've gone to Memorial Day ceremonies for years and
- 15:05Speaker 3: generally it's the same format where it's usually one politician
- 15:10Speaker 3: follows another. Crowd is standing, in my opinion, goes on
- 15:15Speaker 3: too long, ninety minutes or more. It's just too much.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Crowd is older, not a lot of younger folks. So
- 15:21Speaker 3: we just thought there has to be a better way,
- 15:23Speaker 3: if we could make it more entertaining, so to speak,
- 15:27Speaker 3: and make it more of a history lesson and why
- 15:30Speaker 3: we have Memorial Day Decoration Day.
- 15:33Speaker 2: And so that's the idea.
- 15:35Speaker 3: And we drew two thousand last year, and so I
- 15:39Speaker 3: think the idea works, and.
- 15:40Speaker 1: We hope it's a huge crowd.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I mean, we think it'll be even bigger this year.
- 15:44Speaker 3: The weather will be great on Monday, and so we
- 15:48Speaker 3: just invite everybody bring those grandkids. I mean, I think
- 15:52Speaker 3: it's all well and good that there's a doubleheader Memorial
- 15:54Speaker 3: Day morning, but what's really more important here. Let's maybe
- 16:00Speaker 3: we'll put the soccer shoes away for one Saturday morning,
- 16:04Speaker 3: come down to Memorial Park and understand what Decoration Day is.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well now this would be Monday morning, right,
- 16:11Speaker 1: the actual Memorial Daymorial Day. Yeah, yeah, go ahead and
- 16:14Speaker 1: play soccer on Saturday, but come join us on Monday
- 16:18Speaker 1: for the event. Now, you mentioned the weathers is supposed
- 16:22Speaker 1: to beautiful on Monday. It's ify for Tomorrow night, but
- 16:26Speaker 1: the show goes on rain or shine. Right. The only
- 16:30Speaker 1: question is if a storm breaks out at nine o'clock,
- 16:33Speaker 1: maybe the flag can't come out, but the event is
- 16:36Speaker 1: going to happen rain or shine.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we thought about Yvonne and I talked about, well
- 16:42Speaker 3: do we try to move this to Saturday night and
- 16:45Speaker 3: then we have Lincoln Sunday night and then we have
- 16:48Speaker 3: Memorial Day. Yeah, and we just thought let's just go
- 16:52Speaker 3: for it here because sometimes all we need is that
- 16:56Speaker 3: break of rain from nine to nine thirty so that
- 16:59Speaker 3: the the drone show will happen, which is about twelve minutes,
- 17:04Speaker 3: followed by the unfurling. Well, as you had mentioned, the
- 17:07Speaker 3: unfurling really doesn't take very long because once it rolls
- 17:11Speaker 3: down the hill with everybody holding it and people underneath it,
- 17:15Speaker 3: then the drone captures still pictures of it and video
- 17:21Speaker 3: of it. So assuming it's not from outer space. People
- 17:25Speaker 3: should be able to look at the pictures on our
- 17:26Speaker 3: website Patriotic Productions dot org.
- 17:29Speaker 2: And well there's our church group over here on the
- 17:32Speaker 2: left or here we are.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you can identify yourself in the photo.
- 17:36Speaker 3: That's a that's the money show would be fun? Is
- 17:38Speaker 3: that still photo?
- 17:39Speaker 4: No?
- 17:40Speaker 1: My wife asked me, Wait, you mean they're not doing
- 17:42Speaker 1: it at six. They're doing it at nine. Will it
- 17:44Speaker 1: be too dark?
- 17:45Speaker 3: Oh, we have a generous donor has brought in lights.
- 17:52Speaker 3: We have six construction lights. Oh wow, we have one
- 17:56Speaker 3: in each corner and we have two in the middle.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Oh, that's going to be dramatic. Flag lit up at
- 18:02Speaker 1: night and oh my gosh. Actually a little sprinkle of
- 18:06Speaker 1: rain might even add some dramatic effect if this is
- 18:09Speaker 1: all coming at you like a fire hose. Friday, Sunday, Monday.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Patriotic Productions dot org. Right, that's where you can go
- 18:19Speaker 1: to see it all laid out for you and find
- 18:22Speaker 1: out where you may want to plug in and what
- 18:24Speaker 1: time things are happening. I'm going to look across at
- 18:28Speaker 1: Peyton for a second and see maybe can we go
- 18:31Speaker 1: to our break just a little early now? The bottom
- 18:34Speaker 1: hour break, and then I've asked Bill if he could
- 18:37Speaker 1: stick around. I want to put this all in context
- 18:40Speaker 1: and look at what Bill and Yvonne and Patriotic Productions
- 18:43Speaker 1: have been doing over these It's been what ten fifteen
- 18:47Speaker 1: years now? All right, patriotic bumpers, here's a little battle
- 18:52Speaker 1: of New Orleans for you, Patriotic bumpers in honor of
- 18:56Speaker 1: Patriotic Productions. Bill Williams is in the studio with us,
- 19:00Speaker 1: Ship Maxwell in for Jeans Stothard Peyton, high lots at
- 19:02Speaker 1: the controls. It's the kfab comment line on news radio
- 19:06Speaker 1: eleven ten KF A B. Yeah, the rent through the through.
- 19:15Speaker 2: And the rent through the voices where rabbit the rents
- 19:18Speaker 2: so fast that the house couldn't catch a ball down
- 19:21Speaker 2: the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Here comes Memorial Day weekend.
- 19:56Speaker 4: S.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Patriotic bumpers, Patriotic bumpers in honor of Patriotic Productions. My
- 20:12Speaker 1: name is Chip Maxwell. I'm filling in for the honorable
- 20:14Speaker 1: Gene Stuthard. It's KFAB comment line on news radio eleven
- 20:18Speaker 1: ten KFAB Peyton, high luck at the controls. Bill Williams
- 20:21Speaker 1: in the studio with US Bill and Evon Williams, founders
- 20:25Speaker 1: of Patriotic Productions. By the way, if you have a
- 20:28Speaker 1: question or a comment for Bill or for the show
- 20:31Speaker 1: today four oh two, five five, eight eleven ten, comment
- 20:35Speaker 1: at kfab dot com, or take advantage of the talkback
- 20:38Speaker 1: mic on the iHeart app. Now, I want to get
- 20:42Speaker 1: to the history of Patriotic Productions, Bill, but before that,
- 20:45Speaker 1: we've got to do a little Red Oak reunion here.
- 20:48Speaker 1: We've got some Red Oak, Iowa turf to cover here.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It turns out that there's a connection here between you
- 20:54Speaker 1: and young Peyton.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Ohell totally, but this is the first time we've met,
- 20:57Speaker 3: but his grandparents. I'm from Red Oak Retal class of
- 21:00Speaker 3: nineteen sixty nine. Well, his grandparents are Larry and Marty
- 21:06Speaker 3: Barnett of Red Oak, and they're sixty four grads and
- 21:10Speaker 3: we've been friends for over fifty years and they've been
- 21:14Speaker 3: involved with our patriotic parade. They always I always assigned
- 21:19Speaker 3: them to have Hal Dobb and Mary Dobb in their
- 21:23Speaker 3: golf cart. Oh my goodness, tomorrow night we probably announce
- 21:26Speaker 3: in the parade once again.
- 21:28Speaker 1: They're on duty hunt tomorrow night. Yea torow shuttles that
- 21:32Speaker 1: you've got going and they're the party.
- 21:35Speaker 2: They'll be carrying Hal and Mary.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Oh that's fantastic. I was really these are Peyton's grandparents.
- 21:42Speaker 1: We're talking. Oh yeah, goodness.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 2: So I'm very pleased to finally meet him.
- 21:47Speaker 6: You know.
- 21:48Speaker 1: You know, we're happy and proud our metro area expanding
- 21:51Speaker 1: to a million or something like that, but it's still
- 21:53Speaker 1: a small town at heart, you know, and I love
- 21:56Speaker 1: these connections Peyton. You mentioned during the break' you've heard
- 22:01Speaker 1: some buzz about the drone show that drone shows are
- 22:05Speaker 1: really the thing right now.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Yes, well, this is something that is really gaining popularity.
- 22:11Speaker 5: But I would say Patriotic Productions was really the first
- 22:14Speaker 5: time that I'd seen it here. There's some big, big
- 22:18Speaker 5: metropolitan cities that have put on drone shows in the
- 22:20Speaker 5: past for say the Fourth of July or something. But
- 22:23Speaker 5: I think what Patriotic Productions has done with the drone show,
- 22:27Speaker 5: especially here in the metro area and Omaha, has been
- 22:30Speaker 5: really really cool.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Tomorrow Night, Tomorrow Night, Memorial Park, four hundred red, white
- 22:34Speaker 3: and blue lights.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Didn't that something?
- 22:36Speaker 1: Bring it on? Bring it rain or shine? All right?
- 22:39Speaker 1: So Bill, thank you for sticking around with us. By
- 22:43Speaker 1: the way, today because I really want to do this.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I don't know if everybody realizes how long you and
- 22:50Speaker 1: Yvonne have been at this at Patriotic Productions and the
- 22:53Speaker 1: range of people and events that you have sponsored brought
- 22:58Speaker 1: to Omaha put on take us all all the way
- 23:00Speaker 1: back to the beginning. You mentioned your conversation with Gary
- 23:03Speaker 1: Seidemeier on these airwaves saying we got to push back
- 23:06Speaker 1: against the negativity in this country. Let's go from there.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Well, let's back up a bit, so back what started it.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Yvonne and I had the privilege of organizing thirteen honor
- 23:17Speaker 3: flights taking thirty five hundred Nebraska veterans to DC to
- 23:22Speaker 3: see their memorials. I reached across the river and took
- 23:27Speaker 3: a few from southwest Iowa, including Peyton's grandfather.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Well, now that I know you're from Redoak, of course. Yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 3: So anyway, thirty five hundred had the opportunity to go
- 23:37Speaker 3: to d C. The first seven flights were all World
- 23:42Speaker 3: War Two guys, fifteen.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Hundred of them.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Then we did two for Korea vets, two for Vietnam.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Did an all female flight, which is quite unique, female pilots,
- 23:52Speaker 3: female flight attendants, all veterans female. Otis was a ninety
- 23:55Speaker 3: eight year old World War Two vet from Council Bluffs.
- 23:59Speaker 3: All help ropers on board. We called them Guardians female,
- 24:03Speaker 3: all media female. The sign over the door no boys allowed.
- 24:08Speaker 3: And the special guest on board for the trip was
- 24:11Speaker 3: Loretta Sweatsh who most folks remember, a Hottulahan from mash
- 24:17Speaker 3: And then our final flight was about what six years
- 24:21Speaker 3: ago now Purple Heart recipients Iraq and Afghanistan.
- 24:26Speaker 2: So people over the.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Years they'll say, well, what was your favorite flight? Well,
- 24:30Speaker 3: that's difficult, but the most therapeutic, hands down, were the
- 24:34Speaker 3: Vietnam flights. So the first one was D Day, June sixth,
- 24:38Speaker 3: twenty seventeen. Three planes designated Red, White and Blue. Clever
- 24:43Speaker 3: Yvon thought of that, five hundred and ten all combat vets.
- 24:48Speaker 3: It was the largest group of Vietnam vests from one
- 24:50Speaker 3: state to ever visit the Wall. And so we got
- 24:54Speaker 3: back that night because we always went out and back
- 24:56Speaker 3: same day, so we got landed back in Epley eleven o'clock,
- 25:00Speaker 3: five thousand people. We followed that one up on May
- 25:04Speaker 3: one of seventeen four planes designated Red, White, Blue and
- 25:09Speaker 3: Uncle Sam two six hundred and fifty three Vietnam vets.
- 25:14Speaker 3: We had the planes leave from Omaha, but Land and
- 25:17Speaker 3: Lincoln so that folks down that way could show their appreciation.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Seven thousand people. One example of the effect of combat
- 25:24Speaker 3: vet came.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Wait wait, wait, you're saying you're saying seven five thousand
- 25:27Speaker 1: and seven thousand people like celebrating.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Celebrating their veterans their return.
- 25:34Speaker 1: See I'm flashing on. I don't know which one one
- 25:36Speaker 1: of those Rambo movies. At the end of it, Rambo
- 25:39Speaker 1: says something like, uh, I don't want anything special. I
- 25:44Speaker 1: just want our country to love us as much as
- 25:46Speaker 1: we love it. You know, Well, here's taking a while.
- 25:49Speaker 1: We're getting there.
- 25:50Speaker 3: This heavy combat vet came to our house a few
- 25:53Speaker 3: months after his combat flight and he says, I want
- 25:56Speaker 3: to tell you something. He says, I've had nightmares for
- 25:59Speaker 3: forty five plus years, sleeping two three hours a night
- 26:03Speaker 3: ever since we got back. And all the people at
- 26:05Speaker 3: the airport and the band playing and the flags flying
- 26:09Speaker 3: and the signs and my family there. He said, I
- 26:13Speaker 3: now sleep eight hours a night. I wake up refreshed.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I'm a new man.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Fantasy, Isn't that?
- 26:18Speaker 2: Isn't that something?
- 26:19Speaker 3: All? Because one they went as a shared experience. Yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 3: a lot of people, a lot of veterans have been
- 26:27Speaker 3: to the Vietnam Wall, but they went with others with
- 26:30Speaker 3: a similar experience, and at eleven o'clock at night, having
- 26:35Speaker 3: this huge crowd there to clap as they as they
- 26:38Speaker 3: walk through.
- 26:39Speaker 2: So yeah, very touching.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Some amazing stories have come out of your process. I
- 26:45Speaker 1: remember a couple of years ago, actually I was guest
- 26:47Speaker 1: hosting on KFAB at the time of the Memorial Day weekend,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and I remember interviewing this guy was like eighty five
- 26:55Speaker 1: or pushing ninety of a former Tuskegee Airman, and he
- 26:58Speaker 1: was super shit right on it. The gentleman's name escapes me,
- 27:03Speaker 1: but the Tuskegee Airman were featured. Now, the military is
- 27:10Speaker 1: prominent in what you celebrate, but you've expanded to include
- 27:15Speaker 1: law enforcement, first responders, basically anybody putting his or her
- 27:19Speaker 1: life on the line for the nation.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Well you, like I did touch on that.
- 27:24Speaker 3: We organized two back the Blue events, one down by
- 27:28Speaker 3: Lincoln the other one here at Memorial Park after all
- 27:32Speaker 3: the chaos a few years ago to show support for
- 27:34Speaker 3: law enforcement. And then we've over our speaker series over
- 27:39Speaker 3: the years, we brought in the actual kissing couple from
- 27:43Speaker 3: the famous Times Square VJ. Day Alfred Eisenstadt photo of
- 27:49Speaker 3: the kissing couple Pike iconic. So it's Greta Friedman who
- 27:54Speaker 3: looks to be a nurse, but she's actually a dental
- 27:57Speaker 3: assistant in the photo. And then George Jamin donza A
- 28:02Speaker 3: turned out to be a longshoreman from Rhode Island, so
- 28:05Speaker 3: we flew him in along with an author who had
- 28:09Speaker 3: proof in his book that this was in fact the
- 28:12Speaker 3: actual couple. So up on the stage of Papilion High School,
- 28:16Speaker 3: never forget it, we have the actual couple sitting on
- 28:19Speaker 3: the stage with a huge blow up of the actual
- 28:23Speaker 3: photo behind them. Then we had a high school girl
- 28:26Speaker 3: a high school boy dressedes them stage left, stage right,
- 28:30Speaker 3: came out.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Now they faked it, but they they made the pose.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I mean it was dig chills. I mean it was
- 28:38Speaker 2: the neatest thing.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Oh great.
- 28:40Speaker 3: So you know we've had We've had a lot of
- 28:45Speaker 3: Colonel Frasier Batan Deathmarch Survivor. We had Bud Day, who
- 28:51Speaker 3: was Hanoi Hilton seven years, five months tell made of
- 28:54Speaker 3: John McCain. McCain sent us an email and he says,
- 28:57Speaker 3: Bud Day's the toughest.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Man I've ever met my life.
- 29:01Speaker 3: So we've had a variety of Bander brothers, Marines from
- 29:05Speaker 3: the flag raising unit on Iwo Jima.
- 29:07Speaker 1: You had the doctor that worked on.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Ben, Doctor Ben Aaron, we had in and he talked
- 29:14Speaker 3: about that day that that Reagan was shot and he
- 29:18Speaker 3: got this call and they said, we need you over
- 29:20Speaker 3: an er stat and he goes over there, secret Service
- 29:24Speaker 3: guns out, pulls the curtain aside and there's Reagan and uh,
- 29:29Speaker 3: he's looking down. He's talking to him and he looks
- 29:32Speaker 3: up and that the famous line was, I hope all
- 29:35Speaker 3: you guys are a Republican.
- 29:37Speaker 1: So that's true. That isn't just apocryphal. Boy, wouldn't it
- 29:40Speaker 1: be great? A frak is he really did say that
- 29:43Speaker 1: you guys are Republican.
- 29:46Speaker 3: The neat part of the story was, you know, they
- 29:48Speaker 3: opened up Reagan and he couldn't find the peace of
- 29:53Speaker 3: the of the of the of the bullet. And the
- 29:57Speaker 3: other doctor was saying, Doc, you gotta get out. You're
- 29:59Speaker 3: gonna as him on the table, and he stops and
- 30:02Speaker 3: says a prayer, and then he lifted up Reagan's heart
- 30:06Speaker 3: and he found the underneath his heart I mean he
- 30:09Speaker 3: was fat.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Giving me chills. Here Bill, we've we've got a listener
- 30:14Speaker 1: who wants to get into the conversation, Peyton. Do we
- 30:15Speaker 1: have time to get Jim in here before our next break? Jim,
- 30:18Speaker 1: welcome to the show.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Good morning. It's Jim McCartney and Emerson. I bet you
- 30:24Speaker 4: know who I am.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Let's see, let's get to can you Bill? Okay, I'm
- 30:33Speaker 1: gonna hand my headphones over to Peyton's got a magic fix.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Hang on just a second, Jim, quick technical glitch here, make.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Sure we're good.
- 30:43Speaker 1: All right, Jim, why don't you introduce yourself again? Because
- 30:46Speaker 1: I don't think Bill heard it.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Jim Carney Emerson, IOWA.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Gold star father.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Oh God bless you.
- 30:57Speaker 4: I remember when you guys got going and created the
- 31:01Speaker 4: Remember the Fallen with.
- 31:05Speaker 2: The university there to the South Bellevue University helped us. Yep.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Yeah. I want to say thanks for all your work
- 31:20Speaker 4: and hope that somehow these memorials continue to move around
- 31:25Speaker 4: instead of being just retired.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Well, I hope you can come up this weekend, because
- 31:31Speaker 3: yesterday we set up the National Remembering our Fallen.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Towers along Dodge Street.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Jim, and there's thirty five towers, as you know, including
- 31:40Speaker 3: your son, and there's fifty five hundred and that was
- 31:45Speaker 3: all the work of Yvonne. People will say to us,
- 31:48Speaker 3: did the government give you all those pictures? That's hundreds
- 31:51Speaker 3: of hours by Yvonne tracking the families to ask them
- 31:55Speaker 3: for the pictures. And Jim, you were there from the beginning.
- 31:58Speaker 3: You remember of what a chore, what a lift that
- 32:02Speaker 3: was to get all those pictures. And so that's our
- 32:05Speaker 3: mission all these years. That was twenty eleven when we
- 32:10Speaker 3: created the is one the Nebraska and they've been all
- 32:15Speaker 3: over well, the National has been all over the country,
- 32:17Speaker 3: from New York City to the Pentagon to Shanksville thanks
- 32:22Speaker 3: to Senator Ricketts, Wrigley Field, New England, Patriots, Army Navy
- 32:27Speaker 3: Game twice, all kinds of different places, Rose Bowl Week twice.
- 32:32Speaker 3: So that's been our mission, is that these men and
- 32:36Speaker 3: women who paid the ultimate Iraq Afghanistan will.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Not be forgotten.
- 32:42Speaker 4: I appreciate the efforts the way I see. It's going
- 32:48Speaker 4: to be scheduled to be in Shnnandah at the end
- 32:50Speaker 4: of Junal.
- 32:51Speaker 2: That's right, you heard about that, that's right.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to be helping. We're going a few
- 32:59Speaker 4: leech miners. Patriot Garden members are going to be not
- 33:03Speaker 4: officially but kind of being in the area to help
- 33:07Speaker 4: stave off potential.
- 33:11Speaker 1: For those motorcycle riders.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Patriot gard we've heard rumors of potential vandalism, so.
- 33:19Speaker 3: We're gonna, you know, all the travels of our memorials.
- 33:25Speaker 3: We've never had any incident like that with the national
- 33:30Speaker 3: or the State exhibit. So that's uh, that's sad, Jim,
- 33:34Speaker 3: if that is in fact true. But you guys will
- 33:37Speaker 3: be there too.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, maybe you'll dissuade him just by your presence, James, Jim, Jim,
- 33:45Speaker 1: We've got to take our next break, but thank you
- 33:47Speaker 1: so much, gold Star father Jim. As a matter of fact, uh,
- 33:51Speaker 1: some more Patriotic bumpers for Patriotic Productions. Speaking of possible pushback, Bill,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I want to revisit the history of the organization. I
- 33:59Speaker 1: want to ask you specifically about when Riley Gaines came
- 34:02Speaker 1: a few years ago. And boy, that'll be the final
- 34:05Speaker 1: segment of the show. This hour just flies by, but
- 34:09Speaker 1: we'll make the most of it. Bill Williams of Patriotic
- 34:11Speaker 1: Productions is in studio with us. I'm Jim Maxwell and
- 34:14Speaker 1: for Jean Stothert Peyton, I looks at the controls. It's
- 34:17Speaker 1: the kfab comment line on news Radio eleven ten KFAB

- 34:56Speaker 1: about what's cooking. Bill Williams, he and his wife Yvon

- 35:02Speaker 1: filling in for the honorable Gene Stouther. The rest of
- 35:05Speaker 1: this week and most next week, it's the kfab comment
- 35:09Speaker 1: line on news Radio eleven ten. KFAB. We can try
- 35:12Speaker 1: to squeeze you in here final segment four oh two,
- 35:14Speaker 1: five five, eight, eleven ten. Comment at kfab dot com,
- 35:18Speaker 1: or there's a talkback like on the iHeart app. Well,
- 35:23Speaker 1: the call from GM in the last segment triggered a
- 35:25Speaker 1: call from Roger this segment. Let's go ahead and wave
- 35:29Speaker 1: him in. Roger, welcome to the show.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 35:34Speaker 6: How are you doing, coach?
- 35:36Speaker 4: Coach?
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yeah, this is Roger, Roger Krause.
- 35:44Speaker 6: You got her.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Wow, that's hilarious. That was a long time ago.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Roger Chester Hubble Byron or actually it was Chester Hubble
- 35:54Speaker 3: Bulldogs then, wasn't it.
- 35:58Speaker 1: What are we talking about here? Your high high school?
- 36:01Speaker 4: What?
- 36:01Speaker 5: No?
- 36:01Speaker 4: I was?
- 36:02Speaker 3: I taught school down in southern Nebraska a couple of
- 36:05Speaker 3: years and Byron, Nebraska. Okay, that's where Yvonne is from.
- 36:10Speaker 3: And three years at Chester Hubble and I was the
- 36:14Speaker 3: basketball coach and filled the milk machine and drove the
- 36:19Speaker 3: bus part time and all for seven thousand dollars.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Oh ks, Ransom, Roger, Roger, Now you're to any scores.
- 36:28Speaker 1: You need to settle Roger with the coach.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 6: No, I've been listening it to you here, and you
- 36:35Speaker 6: know what you need to do. You need to sit
- 36:37Speaker 6: down and write a book about all.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Your just the breaks.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Alike. Roger.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I'll send you the check. Right, you're a good man.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I appreciate you calling Pale.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 6: You never never know what you and pull off. Next
- 36:57Speaker 6: you think you've done it all and you can't top it,
- 36:59Speaker 6: you do it again.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Isn't that the truth?
- 37:03Speaker 2: You're very kind? Thank you, Roger, thank you, thank you
- 37:06Speaker 2: for that call.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Roger. Oh my goodness, this is your life. Bill Williams. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:13Speaker 1: you know all these Iowa references. Now I'm remembering that
- 37:16Speaker 1: one of my grandfathers was from Shenandoah, the other ones
- 37:18Speaker 1: from Council Bluff's my wife's parents. Her mother grew up
- 37:23Speaker 1: in a farm outside of Carroll, and her dad's from Halber,
- 37:26Speaker 1: part of the Carroll Metroplex. Helber and then young Peyton
- 37:31Speaker 1: over here was mentioning, you know, you were talking about
- 37:33Speaker 1: the crowds that would gather at airports to send off
- 37:35Speaker 1: and receive the honored flights going back and forth the veterans, Peyton,
- 37:40Speaker 1: Were you saying that your family was a part of
- 37:42Speaker 1: one of these welcoming groups one time?
- 37:44Speaker 5: Yes, So we went into the terminal at Eply and
- 37:47Speaker 5: we you know, waited for a bit. We made some signs.
- 37:51Speaker 5: Family was there, me and my brothers, and we were
- 37:54Speaker 5: all waiting, and we were waiting, and at that time
- 37:56Speaker 5: I was I was fairly young, twenty seventeen. I was
- 37:59Speaker 5: probably fifteen years old or so. And you know, I
- 38:01Speaker 5: don't think I truly understood the value of what was
- 38:05Speaker 5: happening in that moment. My grandfather, like Bill said, I
- 38:10Speaker 5: had never seen him as emotional as he was before
- 38:14Speaker 5: that moment or since that moment has occurred. And you know,
- 38:18Speaker 5: you think about the way that these men and women
- 38:19Speaker 5: were treated when they came home after Vietnam, told not
- 38:24Speaker 5: to wear your uniform, told.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Not to.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Explain to people that you were on duty and you
- 38:30Speaker 5: were serving. I mean, how shameful is that? And it's
- 38:34Speaker 5: easy to say now, but those men and women deserved
- 38:37Speaker 5: that recognition. They deserve that moment.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I don't know about you, Bill, but sitting here as
- 38:43Speaker 1: the old timer boomer that I am, to hear somebody
- 38:45Speaker 1: in his mid twenties talking like that gives me great
- 38:48Speaker 1: hope for the future. The message is getting through. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:54Speaker 1: in the time we have left. Bill. You mentioned in
- 38:57Speaker 1: passing Riley Gaines a few years ago. She's, of course
- 39:02Speaker 1: a former collegiate swimmer, one of the foremost voices in
- 39:04Speaker 1: the debate saying women's sports should be for biological women.
- 39:10Speaker 1: She has received some pushback around the country at like
- 39:14Speaker 1: some of her appearances, right, yeah, I mean she's been
- 39:17Speaker 1: physically attacked. I just yell that. And you were a
- 39:21Speaker 1: little concerned when you brought her here. In fact, some
- 39:24Speaker 1: of your usual corporate backers kind of shied away from
- 39:28Speaker 1: that event. Now, the event itself, I was there, We
- 39:31Speaker 1: were the retire smartest part of that event, and that
- 39:33Speaker 1: it all went smoothly. But there was a little turbulence
- 39:38Speaker 1: around that.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Well, we never Yvonne and I never hesitated. I mean,
- 39:42Speaker 3: it's it's so cut and dried, us so stupid to say,
- 39:46Speaker 3: all right, is it fair to have men play in
- 39:48Speaker 3: women's sports?
- 39:49Speaker 4: Yes?
- 39:50Speaker 2: Really, come on.
- 39:52Speaker 3: So booking Riley Gaines was easy and I didn't care
- 39:57Speaker 3: whether sponsors dropped or they didn't, because I'm I mean,
- 40:00Speaker 3: we felt it was the right thing to do to
- 40:02Speaker 3: bring her in.
- 40:03Speaker 2: And you know, the last time we talked.
- 40:04Speaker 3: To her, she said, that is still the largest crowd
- 40:10Speaker 3: she's ever spoken in front of. It was sold out
- 40:13Speaker 3: out at the Embassy, remember that night, and it was
- 40:17Speaker 3: what was the thirteen hundred plus packed in there that
- 40:20Speaker 3: was on a Sunday.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Place was jammed.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and she was unbelievable then. And we had Jordi Ball.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Jerdy from now but she was introduced and she's she's
- 40:33Speaker 3: just the best young woman.
- 40:35Speaker 4: And so it was.
- 40:36Speaker 3: It was just a wonderful night and we have no
- 40:40Speaker 3: regrets at all. I know we've lost sponsors. We even
- 40:43Speaker 3: had a couple of legions says we'll never support you
- 40:46Speaker 3: again because you wandered out of your lane.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Don't care well, well, we know that if anything that
- 40:52Speaker 1: reinforced our connection with you, it retired smart. But I
- 40:56Speaker 1: remember Riley Gaines was also funny. I mean, she was quick,
- 40:59Speaker 1: she was ever. Scott Vorhees was the MC that event,
- 41:03Speaker 1: and he made some crack about so Yeah, Riley and
- 41:06Speaker 1: I were saying to each other while we were changing
- 41:08Speaker 1: in the locker room together before this event, you know
- 41:09Speaker 1: when people left got it and she got up later
- 41:12Speaker 1: and she just said, she just looked at him kind of,
- 41:15Speaker 1: I like you. I think you and I get along
- 41:17Speaker 1: very well, you know. I mean she just took it
- 41:18Speaker 1: and stride and loved the humor.
- 41:20Speaker 3: You know, she looked directly at Governor Pillen and we
- 41:23Speaker 3: need to we need to do something about that. Well
- 41:25Speaker 3: a three days later he signed that yeah resolution or
- 41:30Speaker 3: whatever it was right before the big volleyball deal down
- 41:34Speaker 3: at UH down in Lincoln at Memorial State And it
- 41:36Speaker 3: was all the same week.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Speaking of volleyball, you made the super Novas the feature
- 41:41Speaker 1: of the parade. Was it the last parade or the
- 41:45Speaker 1: one before? You were you were featuring that issue in
- 41:49Speaker 1: the parade. UH Peyton signaling this, we're down to the
- 41:53Speaker 1: final minute bill anything we haven't covered that you want
- 41:56Speaker 1: to talk about.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I think I think you hit it all. I'm glad
- 41:59Speaker 2: that you give me some it's time to well.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Thanks for being a good sport. I asked him to
- 42:03Speaker 1: just come in and tell us about this weekend. I
- 42:04Speaker 1: end up hanging on to him for the whole hour,
- 42:06Speaker 1: but I just there's so much there. As as Rogers said,
- 42:10Speaker 1: you're gonna have to start working on that book. Uh,
- 42:13Speaker 1: but I hear the music coming up, so that means
- 42:16Speaker 1: we're out of time. Bill. Thanks thanks a lot. So
