- 0:02Speaker 1: Wake your ass up, fool.
- 0:04Speaker 2: John Jay and Richie.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Rich, today's National What Day? Well, first of all, it
- 0:08Speaker 3: is the U.S.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Air Force's birthday, so thank you for protecting us.
- 0:13Speaker 5: U.S.
- 0:13Speaker 6: Air Force, it is National Tradesman's Day. National Ceiling Fan Day.
- 0:41Speaker 6: National First Love Day, where you, I guess if you're
- 0:45Speaker 6: bold enough to reach out to your first love and say,
- 0:48Speaker 6: you were my first, why, you feel like that's not
- 0:49Speaker 6: a good idea?
- 0:50Speaker 7: Absolutely never in a million years.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Is that first love the same as first girlfriend, first boyfriend?
- 0:56Speaker 3: I mean, is it?
- 0:57Speaker 6: It was your first love, your first love, your first
- 1:00Speaker 6: love day. I guess it could be something besides another person.
- 1:03Speaker 6: Like when you think about your first love. I don't
- 1:05Speaker 6: know how to answer that. I mean, you know what
- 1:07Speaker 6: I mean? It could be Hot Pockets. Oh, so it's anything.
- 1:10Speaker 6: You're not talking about love. Well, no, I think in
- 1:12Speaker 6: this context, it is actually romantic.
- 1:14Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:16Speaker 8: Did you love anyone before Blake?
- 1:17Speaker 4: No, I don't think so. I'm trying to think. My
- 1:19Speaker 4: first girlfriend, her name was Stephanie, and if she died,
- 1:21Speaker 4: would I cry? Probably not.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:23Speaker 4: I remember when we broke up, when I broke up
- 1:26Speaker 4: with her, and then I remember telling my friend Dave.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I told you guys this story. I tried to cry,
- 1:30Speaker 4: and I didn't cry, and I told Dave. I go, Stephanie,
- 1:33Speaker 4: I broke up.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I cried. But I really did. I didn't cry. I
- 1:37Speaker 3: didn't cry.
- 1:37Speaker 6: What did he say when you said you cried? He
- 1:39Speaker 6: was like, yeah, right.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I don't remember what he said.
- 1:41Speaker 6: I don't remember what he said.
- 1:42Speaker 3: But it was no big deal.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Because I remember he broke up with his girlfriend and
- 1:44Speaker 4: he cried. Or she broke up with him and he cried.
- 1:46Speaker 4: And I was like, I was jealous that I couldn't cry.
- 1:47Speaker 4: It was kind of like I was jealous when people
- 1:49Speaker 4: had a broken arm in school. I wish I had
- 1:51Speaker 4: a cast.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Well, it's not national fake, but you need a cast.
- 1:57Speaker 9: So yesterday I was like low key shopping till I
- 1:59Speaker 9: dropped because the I Heart Radio Music Festival is this weekend.
- 2:02Speaker 7: In Vegas and I needed some outfits. OK, I needed
- 2:05Speaker 7: to come correct.
- 2:05Speaker 9: So I was like the last couple weddings that I've
- 2:08Speaker 9: gone to over the last couple of months, I've gone
- 2:09Speaker 9: to Marshall's. And every time I walk in, I always
- 2:13Speaker 9: find a.
- 2:13Speaker 7: Smoking good deal.
- 2:14Speaker 9: And let me tell you, if you don't know, Marshalls
- 2:17Speaker 9: is that girl.
- 2:19Speaker 7: Is that girl.
- 2:20Speaker 9: You will always find something cute and trendy. Also, you're
- 2:22Speaker 9: always going to find something on sale. And you can
- 2:24Speaker 9: return it within 30 days and get your money back.
- 2:26Speaker 9: Sales aren't final at Marshalls, which I appreciate. And so
- 2:31Speaker 9: I was shopping until I dropped. And I got, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 9: you like, I mean, Kyle, you probably get it. You know,
- 2:35Speaker 9: you're out shopping and you like are done. You're like,
- 2:37Speaker 9: I'm starving.
- 2:38Speaker 7: Like if I don't eat something, my stomach is going
- 2:40Speaker 7: to eat itself.
- 2:41Speaker 8: Yeah, but like at Marshall's in the checkout line, they
- 2:43Speaker 8: have all those candies. And you're like, maybe I'll just
- 2:45Speaker 8: take five bags of these.
- 2:46Speaker 7: Literally, literally.
- 2:48Speaker 9: So in that moment, I text my homegirl and I'm like, hey,
- 2:50Speaker 9: do you want to go and meet me at this
- 2:52Speaker 9: restaurant around the corner? She's like, fine, cool with it.
- 2:55Speaker 9: So we go, I go to meet up with her.
- 2:57Speaker 9: As I'm there, I see one of my other friends
- 3:00Speaker 9: there at the same restaurant. And I wanted to double
- 3:03Speaker 9: check and make sure it was her. So I have
- 3:05Speaker 9: her location. So I checked her location. And the reason
- 3:07Speaker 9: I checked her location because I was like, is she
- 3:09Speaker 9: on a date? And so I didn't know about the date.
- 3:13Speaker 9: This is one of my closest friends. I'm like, is
- 3:15Speaker 9: she on a date?
- 3:15Speaker 7: And she didn't tell me. So then I start walking
- 3:19Speaker 7: up to them.
- 3:20Speaker 9: I was not supposed to see them on the date
- 3:22Speaker 9: because the man that she was on a date with,
- 3:23Speaker 9: she was definitely not supposed to be with.
- 3:25Speaker 7: And I definitely wasn't supposed to be there.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Why?
- 3:28Speaker 8: Who was he?
- 3:30Speaker 9: It's like, it's a guy who kind of crosses multiple paths.
- 3:37Speaker 7: She just had no business being with this man.
- 3:39Speaker 8: Like he dated someone else or he is dating someone else?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Is he married?
- 3:42Speaker 9: I don't know what his deal is. I just know
- 3:45Speaker 9: that I know him from a different social circle.
- 3:47Speaker 3: But he's a bad guy.
- 3:48Speaker 7: I don't think he's a bad guy.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So why isn't she allowed to be with him?
- 3:51Speaker 7: She's allowed to be with him.
- 3:53Speaker 9: I just don't think that I was supposed to be
- 3:55Speaker 9: the one to see.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Oh, because it's like it's not out there yet.
- 3:59Speaker 9: It's definitely not out there yet. I definitely know a
- 4:02Speaker 9: lot about the two of them. But it was so
- 4:05Speaker 9: weird to see them together. And I literally walk up
- 4:08Speaker 9: because I didn't think it was him at first. If
- 4:10Speaker 9: I knew it was him, I probably wouldn't have walked
- 4:12Speaker 9: up to her. You didn't even know it was her.
- 4:16Speaker 9: You checked to see where her location was.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 4:18Speaker 7: And I saw it was her. So it confirmed. So
- 4:20Speaker 7: I went to go walk up and talk to her.
- 4:22Speaker 9: Then I make eye contact with this man and his
- 4:24Speaker 9: eyes were like a deer in headlights.
- 4:27Speaker 7: Deer in headlights. He literally was like.
- 4:31Speaker 7: It was shaking when I walked out yeah they're out
- 4:33Speaker 7: in public I'm.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Assuming he's married or something I.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Know is he married.
- 4:36Speaker 3: No there's Peyton oh my god.
- 4:38Speaker 6: No it's just that.
- 4:40Speaker 9: It's like I don't want to air her business out
- 4:42Speaker 9: like that all the way so that's why I feel.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Like I'm trying to beat.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Around the bush a little bit well we need to
- 4:46Speaker 6: hear the business for us to be shocked with you.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Can't you air her business without talking about who she
- 4:50Speaker 3: is right yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 6: I guess I could Is she a hoe?
- 4:54Speaker 5: No.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Well, kind of.
- 4:55Speaker 6: Well, no, she's not.
- 4:58Speaker 7: She is not one, but she is like back out there.
- 5:00Speaker 10: You know what I mean?
- 5:00Speaker 7: She's dating, got out of like a not good relationship.
- 5:03Speaker 7: So she's back out there.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Let me ask you this. I'll leave it alone to
- 5:08Speaker 4: that stuff. How do you check your friend's location?
- 5:10Speaker 7: I just go and find my friends.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Oh, she like you. You guys are signed up together
- 5:14Speaker 3: or something.
- 5:15Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 7: Like we share each other's location. She's see where I'm
- 5:17Speaker 7: at right now.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Oh, I don't have any friends like that.
- 5:20Speaker 8: I just have my husband.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I just have my wife and kids.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I would do that without the media family.
- 5:24Speaker 7: I probably have like 15 of my friends' locations.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Really?
- 5:27Speaker 7: Yeah, we just check in on each other every now
- 5:28Speaker 7: and then.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:29Speaker 8: I guess that's safe if you're, like, especially if you're
- 5:31Speaker 8: just dating.
- 5:32Speaker 7: Right.
- 5:33Speaker 8: Like, you know, could be dangerous out there.
- 5:35Speaker 7: But just know, guys, I was gagged.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I want to do that to somebody that was somebody
- 5:38Speaker 3: we just meet. Can I share your location?
- 5:40Speaker 6: That'd be so weird.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. We got this new big guy. Hold on.
- 5:44Speaker 3: We got that new big boss coming in. Let's do that.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Next time he comes in, I'm going to be like,
- 5:48Speaker 4: I'm going to be like, hey, uh, Can we share
- 5:49Speaker 4: each other's location?
- 5:52Speaker 3: Please let me be there. Can I put you on
- 5:55Speaker 3: my 360?
- 5:55Speaker 6: Why don't we just spin through our contacts and ask?
- 5:58Speaker 3: I also want to give you an idea.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I think since you're going to Marshalls and shopping for
- 6:01Speaker 4: the big iHeartRadio Music Festival, it'd be cool if you
- 6:04Speaker 4: did an outfit. Show us your outfits you're trying on
- 6:08Speaker 4: for the festival. Fit check. I'm looking at these three
- 6:10Speaker 4: things to wear to the festival. Do you have stuff
- 6:13Speaker 4: already on your mind?
- 6:14Speaker 7: Yeah, I have some stuff that I'm trying to do.
- 6:15Speaker 9: Honestly, my idea and my vision for the iHeart Festival
- 6:19Speaker 9: is I want to shop and buy ugly and.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Make it cute.
- 6:22Speaker 9: So you know when you go to a store and
- 6:25Speaker 9: you pick something off the hanger and you're like, oh
- 6:27Speaker 9: my gosh, this is hideous.
- 6:28Speaker 7: I want to take that and then make it cute.
- 6:30Speaker 3: That's funny. I'm usually the other way around. I think
- 6:32Speaker 3: it looks cool. Then I put it on and go, God,
- 6:34Speaker 3: this is heinous. God, why? How do people pull this off?
- 6:37Speaker 6: You pour poor outfits.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Wow. All right.
- 6:41Speaker 4: So can you do that? I mean, you're leaving for
- 6:42Speaker 4: the iHeart Festival today. It's tonight and tomorrow night. I'd
- 6:45Speaker 4: like to see whatever Peyton's wearing. So you can post
- 6:47Speaker 4: about your outfits on our Instagram. So watch out.
- 6:50Speaker 3: We can all vote for what Peyton can wear. If
- 6:52Speaker 3: you're cool with that.
- 6:53Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm down for that.
- 6:54Speaker 3: All right, cool.
- 6:54Speaker 4: So go to John Jane Rich in just a little bit.
- 6:56Speaker 3: She'll post them all. This is John Jay and Rich. Hey,
- 7:02Speaker 3: what's the vibe for Horoscopes today?
- 7:05Speaker 9: This weekend is the iHeartRadio Music Festival, so I'm letting
- 7:08Speaker 9: you know the exact energy that your zodiac sign brings
- 7:11Speaker 9: to the crowd when it comes to your favorite artist, concert,
- 7:14Speaker 9: or festival.
- 7:15Speaker 7: Also, if it's your birthday today, you are a Virgo.
- 7:18Speaker 9: We're getting towards the end of Virgo season, but you
- 7:20Speaker 9: share a birthday with Kyle's favorite, Alex Warren, James Marsden,
- 7:24Speaker 9: Jada Pinkett Smith, Jason Sudeikis.
- 7:26Speaker 7: And Billy Eichner.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And if you're a Virgo?
- 7:28Speaker 7: Yeah, John Jay, you're a Virgo in the room. So
- 7:30Speaker 7: you are there right when the doors are open.
- 7:33Speaker 9: You have memorized the artist's set list weeks in advance.
- 7:37Speaker 9: And then you spend the show judging how the sound
- 7:40Speaker 9: mix and the low-key monitoring of the crowd's safety protocols.
- 7:44Speaker 7: You're not really enjoying the show.
- 7:46Speaker 6: Double that. That's my experience with John Jay. You're just
- 7:49Speaker 6: kind of just observing.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I'm there before the doors open, and I leave after
- 7:52Speaker 3: the first song.
- 7:53Speaker 12: Exactly.
- 7:53Speaker 6: I heard a good one. I've been with John Jay with, like,
- 7:55Speaker 6: some iconic shows. I'll be like, oh, they already played
- 7:57Speaker 6: a good song.
- 7:58Speaker 7: I'm out.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Got a good time. First song. Nicole, good morning. What's
- 8:01Speaker 3: your sign?
- 8:02Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 8:02Speaker 13: I'm a Gemini.
- 8:03Speaker 9: Geminis, when it comes to you guys and the energy
- 8:06Speaker 9: that you bring to your favorite artist show or festival,
- 8:09Speaker 9: you guys have made four new besties in the bathroom line.
- 8:12Speaker 9: You have traded social media handles with a random stranger,
- 8:15Speaker 9: and you missed two whole songs because you got distracted
- 8:18Speaker 9: gossiping with the group standing next to you.
- 8:20Speaker 13: You could sound like me, just up and about.
- 8:24Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 8:24Speaker 7: Just full of life, little social butterflies.
- 8:26Speaker 13: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Thanks, Nicole. Have a great day.
- 8:30Speaker 1: You too.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Bye-bye. Daryl Lynn, good morning.
- 8:34Speaker 13: Good morning.
- 8:34Speaker 3: What's your sign?
- 8:35Speaker 5: Libra.
- 8:37Speaker 7: Awesome. Just like Kyle.
- 8:38Speaker 9: Okay, for you two, when it comes to your favorite artist, concert,
- 8:40Speaker 9: or festival, you guys are the ones that have your
- 8:43Speaker 9: hand all the way up in the air, holding up
- 8:45Speaker 9: your phone, capturing every iconic movement. And you are perfectly styled.
- 8:50Speaker 9: Your outfit is so cute. You are taking all the
- 8:52Speaker 9: pictures with your friends in the crowd. And you are
- 8:54Speaker 9: ensuring that the aesthetic of your night is fully preserved
- 8:57Speaker 9: for your Instagram feed dump the next day.
- 9:00Speaker 13: So true, so true, so true.
- 9:02Speaker 8: That's pretty accurate.
- 9:03Speaker 9: That just reminds me of me and Kyle when we
- 9:05Speaker 9: went to Nick Jonas' small little tour, and we literally
- 9:09Speaker 9: were taking videos with everyone in the crowd.
- 9:12Speaker 7: Just taking pictures. We were just having so much fun.
- 9:15Speaker 6: That was awesome.
- 9:17Speaker 7: That was a great show.
- 9:18Speaker 13: Absolutely right on.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Have a great day, Darlene. Thanks for listening.
- 9:21Speaker 10: Thanks.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Bye. How about Pisces?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Rich.
- 9:25Speaker 9: You are completely floating in another dimension. I mean, you
- 9:28Speaker 9: are beside yourself. Your eyes will be closed. You'll be
- 9:31Speaker 9: swaying like blissfully with your arms waving in the sky.
- 9:35Speaker 9: And you're convinced that the lead singer wrote every single
- 9:38Speaker 9: lyric directed towards you.
- 9:39Speaker 3: 100%.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Totally true. The most important moments of my life are
- 9:44Speaker 6: not the birth of my children. They're usually concerts.
- 9:46Speaker 7: Oh, my goodness.
- 9:47Speaker 6: That's extreme.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Leos.
- 9:50Speaker 7: I'm a Leo.
- 9:51Speaker 9: Us Leos when it comes to us at our favorite
- 9:53Speaker 9: artist show. We will spend weeks planning our outfits specifically
- 9:58Speaker 9: so people around us are asking to take our picture
- 10:00Speaker 9: and be like, oh my God, can I get a
- 10:01Speaker 9: video of your fit? We have spent half the concert
- 10:03Speaker 9: performing for the crowd.
- 10:05Speaker 7: We haven't been looking at the show.
- 10:07Speaker 9: We have our camera up, selfie mode video and singing along.
- 10:10Speaker 3: We did that at Nick's.
- 10:14Speaker 14: Yes.
- 10:14Speaker 7: We did do that. We did do that.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:18Speaker 9: Oh, I'm like, this is your sign to buy those
- 10:21Speaker 9: concert tickets.
- 10:22Speaker 7: Go see your favorite.
- 10:23Speaker 13: All right.
- 10:23Speaker 4: So Peyton, while you're out and about at the Yacht
- 10:25Speaker 4: Heart Festival, please post pictures, videos, all on our Instagram.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Oh, come on.
- 10:29Speaker 9: You have to be following at John Jay and Rich
- 10:31Speaker 9: and at Kiss FM Phoenix because I'm doing a takeover.
- 10:34Speaker 7: It's going to be epic. That's so easy. Fall in
- 10:40Speaker 7: love with me.
- 10:41Speaker 6: John Jay and Rich.
- 10:42Speaker 4: All right, it's time for Stacks and Hacks. I have
- 10:44Speaker 4: stacks of information, and Rich has life hacks of information.
- 10:49Speaker 4: My information is stuff that you can just kind of
- 10:50Speaker 4: drop on people for fun, like this weekend. You know,
- 10:52Speaker 4: you can be like, boom, hey, did.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You know this? Like, did you guys know?
- 10:54Speaker 4: Do you guys know what the best-selling cassette tape is
- 10:57Speaker 4: of all time?
- 10:58Speaker 6: Cassette tape.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Michael Jackson.
- 10:59Speaker 7: I was going to say Michael Jackson something.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Oh, that's a good guess.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 11:04Speaker 6: Cassette.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It sold 45 million copies worldwide.
- 11:08Speaker 8: It's got to be like something in the 80s.
- 11:10Speaker 6: Yeah, so much bigger than Michael Jackson in the 80s.
- 11:11Speaker 7: Cindy Lauper, girls just want to have fun.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Whitney Houston's The Bodyguard Sandra. There we go.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Do you know that when a murderer is put to death,
- 11:20Speaker 4: like on death row and they're executed, do you know
- 11:23Speaker 4: what they put on the death certificate as official cause
- 11:25Speaker 4: of death?
- 11:25Speaker 3: Anyone know?
- 11:27Speaker 7: Electricity.
- 11:28Speaker 3: No, homicide.
- 11:29Speaker 15: Oh.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Really?
- 11:30Speaker 8: Well, I guess technically they were murdered.
- 11:32Speaker 6: That's a murder.
- 11:34Speaker 7: Interesting.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Something you never really think about.
- 11:35Speaker 6: I know. Saves a lot of extra paperwork, I guess.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Did you know that 80% of NFL players go broke
- 11:41Speaker 4: within the first three to five years of retirement?
- 11:43Speaker 7: I believe that.
- 11:44Speaker 3: 80%. Wow.
- 11:46Speaker 9: That's when you need a baddie in.
- 11:49Speaker 7: Your life to help guide you.
- 11:51Speaker 8: But I also feel like the NFL is now like.
- 11:55Speaker 8: They're giving their players financial training and stuff like that.
- 11:58Speaker 15: They should.
- 11:59Speaker 9: Because it's so easy to put money on like the
- 12:01Speaker 9: shiny things, you know.
- 12:02Speaker 8: Well, no, you get used to having these giant paychecks
- 12:04Speaker 8: all the time. And when they just disappear, they don't
- 12:06Speaker 8: know what to do.
- 12:07Speaker 9: Right.
- 12:08Speaker 4: So this Kyle Payton, I believe you two can only
- 12:10Speaker 4: participate in this. Rich, you can try, I guess. But
- 12:12Speaker 4: the new survey, 50% of women say when they get home,
- 12:16Speaker 4: they are in a hurry to take off their bra.
- 12:21Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 7: No, I usually take off my pants.
- 12:24Speaker 8: And put some sweatpants on.
- 12:25Speaker 7: I de-robe immediately.
- 12:26Speaker 4: 87% of women say they struggle finding good-fitting clothing, and
- 12:30Speaker 4: bras are the most common frustration, followed by jeans and swimsuits. 62%
- 12:37Speaker 4: of women say they think about taking off their bra
- 12:39Speaker 4: multiple times a day.
- 12:42Speaker 7: I don't mind my bra. It's my little buddy.
- 12:45Speaker 4: And for some reason, this is a weird statistic, but
- 12:48Speaker 4: women in Kentucky think about taking it off five times
- 12:51Speaker 4: a day.
- 12:51Speaker 15: Wow.
- 12:52Speaker 6: What's going on there? Humidity must make.
- 12:54Speaker 3: It feel different.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Oh, that would be very uncomfortable.
- 12:58Speaker 4: 24% of women admit they unclasp their bra within the
- 13:00Speaker 4: first 60 seconds of walking through the door, and those
- 13:02Speaker 4: are from people, women from Mississippi, Arizona, and Tennessee.
- 13:05Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 7: No, I totally get that, though.
- 13:07Speaker 9: I will say, though, like sometimes like when those class
- 13:10Speaker 9: don't go off and I have to ask my husband, Kadeem,
- 13:13Speaker 9: and he can get it off easily. It kind of
- 13:15Speaker 9: makes me mad because like, how do you have that practice?
- 13:17Speaker 9: Make me angry over.
- 13:18Speaker 3: You don't know how you guys that practice. Yeah. I
- 13:20Speaker 3: can take it off in two seconds. Exactly. I know.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Like this.
- 13:24Speaker 9: But I know that's literally all I think and I
- 13:26Speaker 9: turn around and then I'm mad at him for like
- 13:28Speaker 9: the next two hours.
- 13:29Speaker 7: At least pretend. At least pretend like you're struggling. At
- 13:31Speaker 7: least fiddle around a little bit.
- 13:32Speaker 6: I haven't seen one of these before.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 13:34Speaker 6: What do you need me to do?
- 13:35Speaker 7: Like just lie to me.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Is it like a magnet?
- 13:37Speaker 7: Please lie to me. So do I use two hands?
- 13:39Speaker 6: Do you have a tool or something?
- 13:42Speaker 9: Squeeze it?
- 13:43Speaker 6: I've never seen one of these.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Capri Sun knows their usual pouches don't last long, so
- 13:48Speaker 4: they're testing a super side version. It's called the Big Pouch.
- 13:51Speaker 4: It can hold 20 ounces, which is more than three
- 13:53Speaker 4: times the size of the original.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 13:55Speaker 7: I love this idea.
- 13:56Speaker 9: It's not the same. Like, have you seen the Capri Suns?
- 13:59Speaker 9: They have them in the gallon.
- 14:00Speaker 7: And it's just, it tastes better in the pouch.
- 14:02Speaker 8: But this is going to be your big pouch. It's
- 14:04Speaker 8: a big giant pouch.
- 14:06Speaker 7: Okay, maybe I'll try it.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you don't have to like drink five
- 14:08Speaker 3: of them.
- 14:08Speaker 6: Yeah, because you get like three, four sips, good pulls
- 14:11Speaker 6: out of a regular pouch.
- 14:11Speaker 7: So do they make the straw bigger too? Because I
- 14:13Speaker 7: don't think that's small of a straw.
- 14:15Speaker 16: You've got to.
- 14:18Speaker 4: A library in New Hampshire said a man named Jan
- 14:21Speaker 4: came in to return a A September 1894 issue of
- 14:25Speaker 4: the Century Illustrated monthly magazine.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yes, 1894.
- 14:28Speaker 4: So whoever borrowed it from the library had been dead
- 14:31Speaker 4: a long time. But John told librarians the magazine had
- 14:34Speaker 4: been in his home for years. He doesn't know how
- 14:35Speaker 4: it wound up there. The magazine was 48,220 days overdue,
- 14:40Speaker 4: which would have cost $ 12, 000 and 55 cents.
- 14:44Speaker 3: But the library waived it. Oh, good. They waived it.
- 14:47Speaker 6: I'd like you to check it out, though. I mean,
- 14:49Speaker 6: if you want. It's back in the library.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess so. That's wild. What do you got
- 14:52Speaker 3: for life hacks, Rich? All right.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Well, if you want to live longer. The question is,
- 14:56Speaker 6: are drinks good for you or not good for you?
- 14:58Speaker 6: So we went deep here at John Jay and Rich
- 15:01Speaker 6: into the Lifehack Science Department. You've heard that moderate drinkers
- 15:04Speaker 6: live a lot longer. In fact, you always hear about
- 15:07Speaker 6: people that live to 100, like, I have a drink
- 15:09Speaker 6: of whiskey every day. That has nothing to do with
- 15:11Speaker 6: the whiskey. They just have really good genes. So it
- 15:14Speaker 6: doesn't really cause them to live longer, but they do
- 15:17Speaker 6: say that if you drink a nightly glass of wine
- 15:20Speaker 6: and you hang out with your friends and family– That
- 15:22Speaker 6: can make you healthier. So it's all about having friends
- 15:26Speaker 6: and family and people that you love. So before, you know,
- 15:29Speaker 6: you drink alone, think about that. Drink with somebody else.
- 15:32Speaker 6: That life hack and many more can be found at JohnJuneRich.com.
- 15:34Speaker 3: What are you so excited about, Peyton?
- 15:38Speaker 9: You guys, I got the most insane PR package of
- 15:42Speaker 9: my entire life.
- 15:43Speaker 7: And I'm not one that gets a PR package.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Can you explain PR package and how you get a
- 15:48Speaker 4: PR package at your house?
- 15:49Speaker 9: Yeah. A PR package is a personal relations package. So
- 15:53Speaker 9: basically these brands, they get together and they create these
- 15:56Speaker 9: kind of boxes that showcase what they're promoting right now
- 16:00Speaker 9: or what they're all about. And a lot of influencers
- 16:01Speaker 9: get them. So if you see a lot of those
- 16:03Speaker 9: unboxings online, a lot of times those are coming from.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I do unboxings.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Yes, you do do unboxings.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I don't get personal, what do you call it?
- 16:11Speaker 7: Personal relations?
- 16:12Speaker 3: I don't get personal, I get public relations.
- 16:14Speaker 7: Oh, maybe that's what it is, public relations.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Personal relations aren't allowed in my house anymore.
- 16:18Speaker 9: See, I'm not a PR person, so that makes sense. Okay,
- 16:20Speaker 9: so is it public, okay.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Public relations, like a movie studio will send something to
- 16:23Speaker 4: the radio station for all of us.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 16:24Speaker 8: So you can promote it.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so you got something at your house?
- 16:27Speaker 7: I got something sent to my house. By Prada Beauty.
- 16:32Speaker 6: Oh, Prada.
- 16:33Speaker 8: That's big time.
- 16:33Speaker 13: Prada Beauty.
- 16:34Speaker 6: My Italian brothers and sisters.
- 16:36Speaker 9: Literally, I was like gagged when this thing came to
- 16:39Speaker 9: my house. And I was shocked because the actual box
- 16:42Speaker 9: that it came in from the mail was from L'Oreal,
- 16:45Speaker 9: like the makeup brand. So I think that they're all
- 16:47Speaker 9: like one in the same. So when I open it
- 16:49Speaker 9: and I see this black Prada box, I about passed out.
- 16:52Speaker 6: What was in it?
- 16:54Speaker 9: It was a whole bunch of their like new makeup lines,
- 16:57Speaker 9: like these new blushes that they dropped, a concealer. They
- 17:00Speaker 9: had some lip glosses. But what was really cool in
- 17:02Speaker 9: there is they had the Paradox Prada perfume scent and
- 17:05Speaker 9: the Paradigm Prada perfume or the Paradigm Prada cologne scent
- 17:09Speaker 9: because they saw the video of Kadeem and I of
- 17:12Speaker 9: Zendaya crashing our weddings. And Zendaya and Tom Holland are
- 17:14Speaker 9: currently the faces of that campaign.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 17:17Speaker 8: Oh, that's cool.
- 17:18Speaker 4: So because of your wedding thing, you got this cool
- 17:21Speaker 4: stuff sent to you. It's funny because I do these
- 17:22Speaker 4: unboxing videos. The unboxing videos I do are because it
- 17:25Speaker 4: was your idea, Rich. Because you get boxes. We get
- 17:27Speaker 4: stuff all the time in my house. And I got
- 17:29Speaker 4: to the point where I'm like. I'm hoping people will
- 17:31Speaker 4: start sending me stuff for free, but I also don't
- 17:33Speaker 4: want them to have my address.
- 17:34Speaker 6: None of them have been free. They're all things you
- 17:36Speaker 6: had to pay for.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Everything I open, I pay for. Everything I open, I
- 17:38Speaker 3: pay for.
- 17:38Speaker 4: But the thing is, I don't know what I bought,
- 17:40Speaker 4: so I just kind of open stuff without knowing what
- 17:42Speaker 4: they are.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Sometimes it's for my wife, my kids, me.
- 17:44Speaker 6: It could be kitchen sponges.
- 17:45Speaker 4: But it'd be kind of fun to get into, like,
- 17:46Speaker 4: what do you get for free? You know, because of
- 17:48Speaker 4: where you worked or who you know or what happened
- 17:50Speaker 4: to you.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Like Peyton.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Let's hear about the hookup.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they call us at 877-937-1047. Lauren, you got something
- 17:53Speaker 3: like that? Something you get for free?
- 17:58Speaker 17: Yeah, so my sister used to work at the Biltmore,
- 18:01Speaker 17: and she called me because a wedding had been canceled
- 18:04Speaker 17: the morning of the ceremony, which is so sad.
- 18:06Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 18:06Speaker 17: I think the couple had broken up that morning. So
- 18:10Speaker 17: everything was already set up and paid for. I'm talking
- 18:12Speaker 17: like flowers, cakes, and paints, the string quartet, the whole thing.
- 18:18Speaker 17: She was like, hey, do you want to come use it?
- 18:22Speaker 17: The six of us showed up and basically had like
- 18:25Speaker 17: a fake wedding reception for ourselves.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 18:28Speaker 17: Yeah, I know, right?
- 18:30Speaker 6: With a string quartet?
- 18:32Speaker 17: Yeah. Yeah, like everything was already there. We ate a
- 18:37Speaker 17: $ 6, 000 wedding cake, drank all the champagne.
- 18:41Speaker 13: Dang.
- 18:41Speaker 17: Photographer was there. We took professional photos.
- 18:46Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Wow, boy, they exited in a hurry that they couldn't
- 18:51Speaker 6: cancel any of that.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Wow.
- 18:53Speaker 17: No, it was, I mean, they broke up that morning.
- 18:55Speaker 17: So everything was already, you know, in go mode. And
- 18:58Speaker 17: so the photographer was on site. And at one point
- 19:02Speaker 17: he even asked us to recreate the bride's first dance.
- 19:06Speaker 17: And one of my friends had met some guy. And
- 19:09Speaker 17: so they, you know, coordinated and, and reenacted like a
- 19:14Speaker 17: first dance, um, The only thing is that it got
- 19:18Speaker 17: kind of scary because we got kicked out when the
- 19:21Speaker 17: bride's mom showed up and was looking for the wedding cake.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 19:25Speaker 7: She was like, I'll take that.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Oh, no. That changes the segment. You didn't get it
- 19:30Speaker 3: for free. You stole a cake.
- 19:31Speaker 6: With permission, though.
- 19:35Speaker 7: Have at it.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Your sister, you said, was with a wedding planner. Do
- 19:39Speaker 6: you know, like, total what they spent and didn't get back?
- 19:43Speaker 17: No, but I mean, a $ 6, 000 wedding cake, a string quartet,
- 19:47Speaker 17: like I know that they spent thousands. and thousands, probably $ 60, 000, $ 70, 000.
- 19:52Speaker 7: Oh, I'm like more than that.
- 19:54Speaker 6: Yeah, that was not a cheap wedding.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I feel bad for the, if you're the mom that
- 19:59Speaker 4: showed up. and the cake's gone and you're like, I
- 20:01Speaker 4: paid for this cake. Like it's not, there's still like
- 20:03Speaker 4: an asterisk with this one as far as, yeah.
- 20:06Speaker 3: You know? All right, Lauren, thank you for calling. Thank
- 20:08Speaker 3: you very much. Marcus.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Hey guys, how's it going?
- 20:12Speaker 4: What's the craziest thing you ever got for free because
- 20:15Speaker 4: of who you knew, where you worked or because someone
- 20:18Speaker 4: screwed up?
- 20:20Speaker 2: Well, I gotta tell you, my uncle owns a company
- 20:23Speaker 2: that installs pools and spas and, um, a customer actually
- 20:28Speaker 2: canceled a massive backyard project, literally the day everything arrived.
- 20:34Speaker 10: Right.
- 20:35Speaker 2: So my uncle actually calls me and he says, Hey,
- 20:38Speaker 2: do you want a hot tub? And honestly, you guys,
- 20:41Speaker 2: I figured he meant one of those like little four
- 20:44Speaker 2: person ones. You know what I mean?
- 20:46Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And, uh, So I show up and there's a $ 60, 000
- 20:52Speaker 2: eight-person hot tub with a waterfall, LED lights, and a
- 20:56Speaker 2: built-in TV sitting.
- 20:58Speaker 3: On a pallet.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Now, apparently, I guess it was like a custom-made thing
- 21:04Speaker 2: for the customer and it couldn't be returned. So my
- 21:08Speaker 2: uncle had nowhere to put it. So he gave it
- 21:10Speaker 2: to me, right? Now, the problem was, was that I
- 21:16Speaker 2: lived in an apartment.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Oh, I had to call.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, right. So I had to call my landlord and
- 21:23Speaker 2: explain that I accidentally acquired a hot tub bigger than
- 21:28Speaker 2: my living room, and I couldn't fit it on my balcony.
- 21:31Speaker 2: So I literally ended up moving apartments so that I
- 21:35Speaker 2: could accommodate it.
- 21:37Speaker 6: Wait, the next landlord's like, sure, you can put it
- 21:39Speaker 6: in the backyard. They were fine with it?
- 21:42Speaker 10: Well, I mean.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I moved apartments and, yeah, I mean, had a bigger yard,
- 21:48Speaker 2: bigger porch, and was able to fit everything on there.
- 21:52Speaker 9: If I was your uncle, I would be trying to
- 21:54Speaker 9: sell that hot tub like no other.
- 21:57Speaker 7: $ 60, 000?
- 21:57Speaker 8: That's insane.
- 21:58Speaker 3: You could have gotten plenty back on Facebook Marketplace.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I would think you would have been like, to the
- 22:02Speaker 4: apartment complex, let's put this in the complex. Give me
- 22:05Speaker 4: a bunch of money off my rent.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Yeah. If I give this to you guys, let me
- 22:09Speaker 3: live here for three, four, five months.
- 22:11Speaker 6: We have problems with everybody to get something for free.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Marcus, thanks for calling in and sharing that story. Thank you, man.
- 22:18Speaker 3: You know, it's funny.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Cause I, this is going, I have a story that
- 22:21Speaker 4: just happened to me a couple of days ago, similar
- 22:23Speaker 4: to this, but so much smaller, but my excitement level
- 22:28Speaker 4: was the exact same excitement of getting a $ 10, 000 hot tub. So,
- 22:33Speaker 4: If you remember a couple weeks ago, I told you
- 22:34Speaker 4: guys I was in San Diego and I jumped in
- 22:35Speaker 4: the ocean. My whoop fell off into the ocean. An
- 22:38Speaker 4: hour before I jumped in the ocean, my whoop fell off.
- 22:40Speaker 4: I bought a new whoop band for $ 79 because the
- 22:43Speaker 4: whoop band I had was terrible.
- 22:45Speaker 3: And that's why I fell in the ocean. $ 79. Well,
- 22:47Speaker 3: after it fell in.
- 22:48Speaker 4: The ocean, I reordered a whoop and I had to
- 22:49Speaker 4: get the newer whoop. And now I had to get
- 22:51Speaker 4: a new band because it's a totally different model of
- 22:53Speaker 4: the whoop. My $ 79 whoop band came in the mail
- 22:56Speaker 4: the other day. And I said to my son, I go,
- 22:58Speaker 4: did you want this? And he goes, no, I don't
- 23:00Speaker 4: want to screw with my whoop. I don't want to
- 23:01Speaker 4: touch your band.
- 23:02Speaker 3: I said, okay.
- 23:03Speaker 4: So I'm going to return it. My wife says, send
- 23:05Speaker 4: me the email, the number, the serial number, and I'll
- 23:07Speaker 4: return it. So I, she goes to return it. Whoop
- 23:09Speaker 4: emails me and says, fill out all this form and
- 23:11Speaker 4: we'll return your whoop and so I can get my
- 23:13Speaker 4: $ 79 back. I fill out the form. They say to me, um,
- 23:17Speaker 4: We refunded your money. $ 79 being refunded to your account.
- 23:20Speaker 4: And by the way, go ahead and keep the band.
- 23:22Speaker 18: Oh, nice.
- 23:23Speaker 3: And I was like, get out of here.
- 23:24Speaker 6: All right.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I will. That's awesome. I get to keep that out
- 23:28Speaker 3: of service. Oh, my God.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Now, keep in mind, the band is useless.
- 23:32Speaker 3: I cannot use it. But I was like, wow. I
- 23:36Speaker 3: got a free $ 79 wood band.
- 23:39Speaker 4: These two guys got a free wedding cake, a free wedding,
- 23:42Speaker 4: a free $ 10, 000 hot tub.
- 23:44Speaker 12: $ 60, 000.
- 23:44Speaker 4: And I feel more excited about it than my whoop
- 23:48Speaker 4: pan that's just sitting in my living room right now.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Doing nothing.
- 23:51Speaker 4: I remember that time Kyle tried to return a, what
- 23:54Speaker 4: did you?
- 23:54Speaker 7: It was a dresser.
- 23:55Speaker 3: A dresser.
- 23:56Speaker 8: They sent me two dressers for Easton's room. And I
- 23:59Speaker 8: was like, yeah, you sent an extra one. They're like,
- 24:03Speaker 8: just keep it.
- 24:04Speaker 3: That's what I mean. Awesome.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I will.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Where is it right now? You have two in his room.
- 24:08Speaker 3: He's using it. He has two in his room? Oh,
- 24:10Speaker 3: my God. I have stuff in this drawer or I
- 24:13Speaker 3: have stuff in this drawer. I have so many things
- 24:15Speaker 3: in so many drawers. I keep one pair of socks
- 24:18Speaker 3: in this drawer, another pair of socks in this other drawer.
- 24:20Speaker 3: We have many drawers at our house.
- 24:22Speaker 6: Plush refreshments.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Hannah, good morning. You're on the air. Thanks for holding.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Hi.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Hey, what's up?
- 24:32Speaker 13: So I will tell you guys that I worked at
- 24:35Speaker 13: a funeral home before, and one of the biggest open secrets,
- 24:40Speaker 13: I'm doing air quotes, was that families don't always get
- 24:43Speaker 13: the ashes they think they're getting.
- 24:45Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 24:47Speaker 13: So we have these huge dents of ashes from cremations,
- 24:52Speaker 13: and everything had to be labeled and There was this
- 24:57Speaker 13: one guy that was, like, so careless with the paperwork
- 24:59Speaker 13: that we just, like, we had this whole system of
- 25:01Speaker 13: double-checking his work because I thought it was important, you know?
- 25:04Speaker 13: And then this one time, I swear, he just hands
- 25:08Speaker 13: a family an urn, and then I recognized the name
- 25:11Speaker 13: on the paperwork as someone who had been created, like, sorry,
- 25:13Speaker 13: I keep saying created. Created? Like, yeah, the opposite of created.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:18Speaker 13: Like, days earlier. And we asked him about it, and
- 25:22Speaker 13: he was just like, they're all ashes and shrugs. Um,
- 25:28Speaker 13: and yeah, I quit, you know, not too long after
- 25:30Speaker 13: that because I just couldn't stop thinking about, like, families
- 25:34Speaker 13: going home thinking they had grandma when they might have had, like, Bob.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 25:39Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, it's not like anybody's going to DNA
- 25:42Speaker 8: test the ashes.
- 25:43Speaker 7: Right.
- 25:44Speaker 6: How could you?
- 25:44Speaker 9: And what's disturbing about that, like, wasn't it just Suge
- 25:47Speaker 9: Knight was talking about how when Tupac passed away that
- 25:50Speaker 9: they all smoked his ashes? So imagine you think you're
- 25:53Speaker 9: smoking your homeboy, but really you're smoking some rando.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 3: For sure.
- 25:58Speaker 8: It's so funny you bring this up because I actually
- 25:59Speaker 8: saw this like Reddit thread about this and some of
- 26:01Speaker 8: them were pretty shocking. They were like just asking what
- 26:05Speaker 8: the industry secrets are that people probably should know or
- 26:09Speaker 8: wouldn't want to know about your job. And it was
- 26:12Speaker 8: like a former hotel cleaner just wrote, the way the
- 26:15Speaker 8: rooms are cleaned, boy, oh boy.
- 26:17Speaker 7: And I'm like, no, no, no. in a hotel.
- 26:19Speaker 8: Like you think they are clean but they're not really
- 26:23Speaker 8: clean they kind of already give you the heebie-jeebies as
- 26:26Speaker 8: it is yeah and then someone at a thrift store
- 26:28Speaker 8: which which kind of goes along like with the eerie
- 26:30Speaker 8: vibes of what you said someone at a thrift store
- 26:33Speaker 8: said surprisingly large portion of their inventory comes from people
- 26:37Speaker 8: who have died like they're like dead people's clothes it's
- 26:40Speaker 8: like people don't really think about that when you go.
- 26:42Speaker 3: In there I want to follow up on something.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Oh, I think about it.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Hannah, let me re-say what I think you said. You
- 26:47Speaker 4: said you worked at a funeral home, and a lot
- 26:49Speaker 4: of times the ashes get all screwed up. That's what
- 26:51Speaker 4: you're saying, right?
- 26:52Speaker 13: Yeah, but here's the thing. I also chatted with some
- 26:56Speaker 13: other people in the industry, and apparently this is not uncommon.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Okay, well, here's what I'm going to get at.
- 27:04Speaker 4: On the line is our former John Jane Rich employee,
- 27:06Speaker 4: Grant Inman, who grew up in the funeral business. And
- 27:09Speaker 4: I've got to get his opinion on this.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Grant. What are you doing?
- 27:16Speaker 6: Are you okay?
- 27:17Speaker 3: Are you making.
- 27:18Speaker 11: Love right now? The only time I use my phone
- 27:21Speaker 11: is to talk to John Jean Rich, so I apologize.
- 27:24Speaker 3: What's going on, fellas?
- 27:25Speaker 4: We had Hannah on the phone, and she was telling
- 27:27Speaker 4: us an industry trade secret, and she said that she
- 27:31Speaker 4: used to work at a funeral home, and a lot
- 27:33Speaker 4: of times the ashes get all mixed up, and I
- 27:35Speaker 4: feel that that's got to be against the law, and
- 27:37Speaker 4: you grew up in the funeral business, so can you
- 27:39Speaker 4: confirm that that happens or doesn't happen?
- 27:42Speaker 11: Brother, I may have mixed up a few set of ashes.
- 27:46Speaker 3: There you see? It's an industry statement.
- 27:49Speaker 8: Everyone in the industry knows.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Then I believe it.
- 27:53Speaker 6: It's a granted hand of faith.
- 27:57Speaker 8: We miss you, Grant.
- 27:59Speaker 6: You're getting something. You're getting value for your dollar. You're
- 28:01Speaker 6: getting ashes.
- 28:02Speaker 3: What did you pay for?
- 28:03Speaker 6: Ashes.
- 28:05Speaker 11: And the other thing that people don't realize is a
- 28:07Speaker 11: lot of times, or a fair amount of times, people
- 28:10Speaker 11: will get cremated and then their family will just leave the,
- 28:14Speaker 11: the cremated remains at the funeral home. So there, there
- 28:19Speaker 11: is just in, in the funeral home I worked at,
- 28:21Speaker 11: we had a cabinet that went to the ceiling, Florida ceiling,
- 28:24Speaker 11: and it was just filled with cremains from, I mean, back,
- 28:28Speaker 11: we had some from back in the seventies where people
- 28:31Speaker 11: just left their, their family member at the funeral home.
- 28:34Speaker 6: Oh, you just kept them thinking they would come back
- 28:36Speaker 6: like a, like storage room.
- 28:38Speaker 11: Yeah, pretty much. Literally, you store your cremains.
- 28:41Speaker 3: If we ever ran into a position where we needed cremains.
- 28:44Speaker 11: I doubt we'd ever give them those. All right.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Well, I knew that now that I just had to
- 28:57Speaker 4: have a verification from you because I knew you grew
- 28:59Speaker 4: up in the business.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Thank you, Grant Inman. Thank you for being on our program.
- 29:01Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 29:02Speaker 11: Thank you so much.
- 29:03Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:03Speaker 11: And, you know, I'll listen offline now.
- 29:05Speaker 3: OK, thank you. All right. Hannah, how about that? Hannah,
- 29:09Speaker 3: you're not alone. Thanks for sharing that with us, Hannah.
- 29:14Speaker 13: Thank you, guys.
- 29:15Speaker 4: So, Kyle, you're saying there's other secrets like you've got
- 29:18Speaker 4: the house cleaners, got secrets. The thrift store people have secrets.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Let's hear some industry secrets, okay?
- 29:25Speaker 6: Snitch them out. I used to hang out with a
- 29:27Speaker 6: friend who managed, general manager of like a very big
- 29:31Speaker 6: chicken place, known for their wings, I'll say that. And
- 29:34Speaker 6: they would strip the breading off the wings at night,
- 29:38Speaker 6: to stick them back in the freezer.
- 29:41Speaker 13: All right.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Eight, seven, seven, nine, three, seven, one Oh four, seven.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Your industry secrets.
- 29:45Speaker 15: Next.
- 29:55Speaker 4: So we found out earlier that for sure at a
- 30:01Speaker 4: funeral home, a lot of times ashes are mixed together
- 30:04Speaker 4: with different people.
- 30:05Speaker 3: So we wanted to hear some secrets from your industry. Clive,
- 30:08Speaker 3: good morning.
- 30:10Speaker 17: What's up, man?
- 30:11Speaker 3: How you doing? Good. What do you do for a living?
- 30:13Speaker 1: I'm a filmmaker.
- 30:14Speaker 3: A filmmaker? Okay. So you've got some secrets? Secrets of
- 30:18Speaker 3: the film business?
- 30:20Speaker 1: Well, you know, a lot of the movies that you see,
- 30:24Speaker 1: they'll say it's false and not real, but it actually does,
- 30:28Speaker 1: you know, come from a true place. One of them
- 30:29Speaker 1: that I could think of right off the bat is,
- 30:32Speaker 1: have you seen the movie National Treasure Book of Secrets?
- 30:34Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:35Speaker 6: What do you mean? That's crazy, Pence.
- 30:40Speaker 1: The story behind that is it's one city of gold
- 30:43Speaker 1: that's hidden and was covered up by Mount Rushmore. The
- 30:47Speaker 1: true story is it's actually seven of them. And they
- 30:50Speaker 1: are found, or some of them have been said to
- 30:52Speaker 1: have been here in Arizona and New Mexico.
- 30:55Speaker 6: The cities of gold?
- 30:56Speaker 1: The seven cities of gold, also known as Sibula Equivera.
- 31:00Speaker 1: They're actually, they were, I mean, that's why the Spanish
- 31:02Speaker 1: conquistadors came here in the first place. They were looking
- 31:05Speaker 1: for the seven cities of gold. And where Marcos Diniz's
- 31:08Speaker 1: high school is, it said that that is where he stood.
- 31:12Speaker 1: That is the exact location where he stood, where he
- 31:15Speaker 1: said he saw the seven cities of gold.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Interesting. Could it have been like heat stroke? Was he
- 31:20Speaker 3: here in the summertime?
- 31:21Speaker 6: Didn't they have scurvy and stuff coming over on those boats, too?
- 31:24Speaker 6: Makes your head a little crazy.
- 31:26Speaker 4: I had heard, I think it was when I was
- 31:28Speaker 4: a kid, and it's probably true, but it was in
- 31:30Speaker 4: Mexico City. Like, that city was built of gold. There's
- 31:33Speaker 4: underneath that city, there's gold.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I mean, that's why they, once again, that's why they
- 31:39Speaker 1: came over here. Like, if you're familiar with the Lost
- 31:41Speaker 1: Dutchman mine, the Peralta mines, hell, you could even go
- 31:45Speaker 1: to Brophy, right there on Central and Highlands. If you
- 31:49Speaker 1: look at that church that's right there on Highland, the
- 31:51Speaker 1: three figures on top is St. Francis, it's Father Rojos,
- 31:55Speaker 1: and then Esteban Quino. Quino, Father Quino, based out of Tucson,
- 32:01Speaker 1: it said that he was the last person that I
- 32:04Speaker 1: could think of that was actually shown one of the
- 32:07Speaker 1: seven cities of gold that was supposedly in the Superstition Mountains.
- 32:10Speaker 6: Why do I feel like, John Jay, your aunt used
- 32:12Speaker 6: to talk about Father Kino? Am I wrong?
- 32:14Speaker 4: There's a little town called Magdalena, which I've been to
- 32:17Speaker 4: many times. And in Magdalena, you can go and you
- 32:20Speaker 4: look through this glass and you can see Father Kino's
- 32:22Speaker 4: buried there.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And you see his bones. You see his skeleton.
- 32:25Speaker 6: Okay, so they have talked about it.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Father Kino, yeah, it's a big thing. Every time you
- 32:27Speaker 4: go to my family's from a little town called Santana.
- 32:30Speaker 4: And to get to Santana, you have to go through Magdalena,
- 32:32Speaker 4: where my sister was born in Magdalena. And you go
- 32:34Speaker 4: there and you can see Father Kino's bones.
- 32:36Speaker 3: So he was a very famous priest back in the day.
- 32:38Speaker 6: That's wild, eh?
- 32:39Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 8: Also, apparently they're just putting schools on top of these
- 32:42Speaker 8: gold cities.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Yeah, what's up with that? Is that why Brophy's so expensive?
- 32:48Speaker 1: If you ever heard of the Rico Mine, they built
- 32:50Speaker 1: the Rico Mine Elementary literally right above the mine in
- 32:55Speaker 1: that area where the 51 curves and goes north. They
- 32:59Speaker 1: built the 51 to cover up the mine because it
- 33:01Speaker 1: was so toxic. They couldn't cover it with anything else. So,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I mean, who knows what's actually... You know, underneath our feet, right?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Underneath our noses.
- 33:09Speaker 6: We should start digging.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I think that's why the education system here, you know,
- 33:14Speaker 1: Arizona's ranked last because they don't want kids picking up
- 33:17Speaker 1: metal detectors and, you know, finding stuff out in the desert.
- 33:22Speaker 6: I never made that connection. And still don't, actually.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:27Speaker 4: That's why, yeah, Riley, California is number one in education
- 33:30Speaker 4: because they let those kids get those metal detectors and
- 33:32Speaker 4: go out.
- 33:34Speaker 3: They go out.
- 33:36Speaker 8: That's the problem.
- 33:37Speaker 3: All right, Clive.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Clive, that was a very interesting take on what we
- 33:41Speaker 4: were talking about, but the industry secrets, and you've got
- 33:44Speaker 4: the industry secrets of the film business.
- 33:45Speaker 3: So thank you very much, dude. Thanks for calling in.
- 33:47Speaker 11: You guys have a good day.
- 33:48Speaker 18: Thank you.
- 33:53Speaker 7: Run from the sunlight, Dracula. Isn't the view spectacular?
- 34:03Speaker 5: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000 cash for you from
- 34:05Speaker 5: Peoria Ford right now.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Minute to win it.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Okay, Jasmine, you ready to go?
- 34:11Speaker 16: No, I am.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Yes, I'm so excited.
- 34:13Speaker 3: What are you doing right now?
- 34:16Speaker 14: Well, I did a five-mile run, so I'm recuperating, just
- 34:21Speaker 14: sitting at the computer and eating.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Do you normally do a five-mile run? Is that a
- 34:25Speaker 3: normal thing for you?
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah, like twice or two or three times a week.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Oh, that's good, then. That means your blood's flowing, your
- 34:32Speaker 4: endorphins are going. That means you're on top of your game.
- 34:34Speaker 4: That means there's a really good chance you can get this. Yeah,
- 34:36Speaker 4: she sounds smart, too. I think this is going to
- 34:38Speaker 4: be your game. Let's give you $ 1, 000.
- 34:40Speaker 6: Here we go. 60 seconds on the clock. Get all
- 34:42Speaker 6: 10 right, and you win. What country uses the peso
- 34:47Speaker 6: as its currency?
- 34:49Speaker 7: Mexico.
- 34:52Speaker 6: Who sang the 2015 hit Hotline Bling?
- 34:55Speaker 3: Drake.
- 34:58Speaker 6: What stringed instrument is most closely associated with flamenco music?
- 35:05Speaker 17: Stringed instrument.
- 35:07Speaker 1: It would be guitar.
- 35:10Speaker 6: What sitcom centers on a group of scientists, including Sheldon Cooper?
- 35:19Speaker 3: A sitcom.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know entertainment.
- 35:23Speaker 15: Oh, gosh.
- 35:25Speaker 1: A group of scientists.
- 35:27Speaker 6: Sheldon Cooper.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 35:31Speaker 8: Let me think.
- 35:35Speaker 6: Oh, gosh.
- 35:36Speaker 8: The one, the, what.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Is it?
- 35:40Speaker 1: 30 Seconds to Mars. No, that's a band.
- 35:42Speaker 6: It's a great band. Not the question I asked.
- 35:45Speaker 10: Okay.
- 35:45Speaker 13: A group of scientists.
- 35:47Speaker 6: Is it the Big Bang Theory? Oh, you ran out
- 35:50Speaker 6: of time.
- 35:50Speaker 8: You worked it through, though.
- 35:52Speaker 6: It is the Big Bang Theory.
- 35:54Speaker 9: Big Bang.
- 35:54Speaker 13: Oh, gosh.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Bazinga.
- 35:56Speaker 8: Yes. I love that show.
- 35:58Speaker 17: I don't know the entertainment stuff as much.
- 36:00Speaker 3: How come? What do you do for a living, Jasmine? Healthcare. Healthcare. Oh, wow.
- 36:05Speaker 6: Yeah, you can tell she was smart.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you're really smart. Okay.
- 36:08Speaker 12: I didn't watch a lot of TV.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Don't worry. We're going to set you up with a
- 36:11Speaker 3: gift card to Del Taco. Congratulations.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Oh, thanks.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Thanks for playing.
- 36:16Speaker 6: Thank you so much.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Nice to meet you.
- 36:18Speaker 6: Hey, Trivia Masters.
- 36:19Speaker 18: Want to win $ 1, 000 from Peoria Ford with John Jay
- 36:22Speaker 18: and Rich?
- 36:23Speaker 5: Be our next Minute to Win It contestant. Text JJR
- 36:27Speaker 5: and the word trivia to 96893 to play.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Peyton, what is a foodie call? We know booty calls,
- 36:33Speaker 3: but what is a foodie call?
- 36:34Speaker 9: Well, basically, it's where people are admitting that they only
- 36:38Speaker 9: accepted a date mainly because of the free meal or
- 36:41Speaker 9: the free drinks.
- 36:43Speaker 6: Man, I get it, especially if it's a certain destination
- 36:46Speaker 6: that you've wanted to try.
- 36:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 6: And it's going to be free.
- 36:48Speaker 7: I mean.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Score.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Score. And I mean.
- 36:50Speaker 6: You can talk to somebody for 45 minutes.
- 36:52Speaker 9: The foodie call is spiking between like Gen Z and
- 36:55Speaker 9: some younger millennials. 32% are saying that they've done a
- 36:59Speaker 9: foodie call.
- 36:59Speaker 3: 100%.
- 37:00Speaker 7: And I'm like, same girl.
- 37:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 3: You've done it?
- 37:04Speaker 7: I've definitely done a foodie call.
- 37:06Speaker 9: Oh, sure, like this guy, he keeps bothering you. He
- 37:08Speaker 9: really likes you. Can I please, please, please take you
- 37:11Speaker 9: out to eat? Sure, if you'll just leave me alone
- 37:13Speaker 9: and pay for my meal.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Okay, so do you have to somewhat like the person
- 37:17Speaker 4: a little bit? Because I don't know if I could
- 37:19Speaker 4: sit there for a free meal and be with someone
- 37:21Speaker 4: I don't want to be around.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Depends on where it is. I mean, it depends on
- 37:23Speaker 3: what you're eating.
- 37:24Speaker 7: Yeah, I would agree with that.
- 37:26Speaker 3: I would. I mean, you'd have to be with me
- 37:27Speaker 3: or with him.
- 37:28Speaker 7: I agree with you.
- 37:29Speaker 9: I would agree that you have to be able to
- 37:31Speaker 9: sit down and get through a conversation with somebody like
- 37:33Speaker 9: I'm not going to sit across with someone who I
- 37:35Speaker 9: can't stand just for some free chips and salsa.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Or look at them. You don't like their face. You
- 37:39Speaker 3: guys sit there and talk.
- 37:40Speaker 9: Sometimes the beauty is within the beholder. It's not always
- 37:45Speaker 9: a foodie call.
- 37:46Speaker 3: So Peyton admits that she has gone to dinner, dinner.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Dinner or drinks jc good morning you have experienced a foodie.
- 37:55Speaker 6: Call you know i have.
- 38:00Speaker 10: What do you got um i've so i've done the
- 38:04Speaker 10: free food date thing but mine's like really bad y'all
- 38:07Speaker 10: because i fully i fully had a boyfriend oh.
- 38:11Speaker 8: Wow did your boyfriend know what you were doing Oh, he, no,
- 38:16Speaker 8: he knew.
- 38:16Speaker 10: He knew. We were, but like, yo, we were broke.
- 38:20Speaker 10: And this guy from the gym kept asking me out
- 38:23Speaker 10: and was relentless about it. And he was like, babe,
- 38:26Speaker 10: go and like, bring me something back. And so I.
- 38:32Speaker 15: This poor guy, he took me to a super expensive
- 38:35Speaker 15: steakhouse and I ran up the tab like $ 400. And
- 38:40Speaker 15: I was texting my boyfriend. I was at the table,
- 38:42Speaker 15: like pictures of the menu.
- 38:44Speaker 10: And I was like, what do you want?
- 38:48Speaker 6: Shall I bring home the lobster mashed potatoes for you, dear?
- 38:50Speaker 7: That poor guy.
- 38:52Speaker 10: Full on surf and turf. And I, it worked so well.
- 38:57Speaker 10: And like, we were like, this is like a full
- 38:59Speaker 10: on thing that we could do that. I would do
- 39:00Speaker 10: it like once a week for a full year. And
- 39:04Speaker 10: it was awesome.
- 39:06Speaker 3: The same guy.
- 39:08Speaker 15: No, not the same guy.
- 39:10Speaker 10: It was different guys.
- 39:11Speaker 13: I would just get on Tinder and I.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Would swipe and I would just go on dates.
- 39:16Speaker 10: Oh, my gosh.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 39:16Speaker 10: That is the ultimate.
- 39:17Speaker 7: I'm like, you and your man were low-key scamming these dudes.
- 39:20Speaker 1: For sure.
- 39:21Speaker 7: For foodie calls, yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 10: No. I, like, should fully be on Dateline for this.
- 39:25Speaker 6: It's bad. I can see that. She went on dates.
- 39:30Speaker 6: just to eat dinner and bring home food for her boyfriend.
- 39:33Speaker 3: I just can't see you using someone like that.
- 39:35Speaker 6: Once a week, you think you'd want to be with
- 39:37Speaker 6: your sick other.
- 39:37Speaker 3: I just don't want to be.
- 39:38Speaker 8: I mean, that's full on, like, she didn't really care
- 39:41Speaker 8: at all. Like, I remember, like, back in the day,
- 39:44Speaker 8: my friends would be like, I don't know if I
- 39:45Speaker 8: really like him or not. And we're like, whatever, just
- 39:46Speaker 8: go to dinner with him. At the very least, it's
- 39:48Speaker 8: a free dinner. But it wasn't like, just go just
- 39:50Speaker 8: because it's dinner.
- 39:51Speaker 3: For the free dinner, right, right, right.
- 39:53Speaker 2: All right, JC.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Girls gotta eat.
- 39:55Speaker 6: I guess so.
- 39:56Speaker 7: And her boyfriend does, too, apparently.
- 39:57Speaker 4: That's a foodie call. Well, JC, it looks like you
- 40:01Speaker 4: have other foodie calls on the line, too.
- 40:02Speaker 3: This is crazy. Yeah, hold on. Hold on, JC. Hold on. Wow, wow. Hey, Dawn,
- 40:06Speaker 3: you've had a foodie call?
- 40:08Speaker 14: So a guy asked me out and I didn't want
- 40:10Speaker 14: to go with him, but he was going to take
- 40:12Speaker 14: me to Fleming's and I'd never been. So I was like,
- 40:13Speaker 14: why not get free food and drink? I mean, you
- 40:15Speaker 14: don't have to hook up with them or do anything.
- 40:17Speaker 14: And it might have made his night.
- 40:18Speaker 10: So why not?
- 40:19Speaker 14: I mean, I'm a single mom.
- 40:20Speaker 7: Why not?
- 40:21Speaker 6: It made his night.
- 40:23Speaker 7: That's exactly what you got it right, Dawn.
- 40:25Speaker 6: And I'll tell you, that Fleming's steak is like second
- 40:28Speaker 6: to none.
- 40:28Speaker 3: It's good.
- 40:30Speaker 14: He got free food and he got to hang out
- 40:31Speaker 14: with me. I mean, that's a win.
- 40:33Speaker 6: He did get to hang out with you.
- 40:35Speaker 3: How long was the dinner?
- 40:38Speaker 14: Oh, my God.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Too long.
- 40:39Speaker 3: That's right.
- 40:41Speaker 16: Two hours.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Two hours. And does he try to kiss you at
- 40:43Speaker 3: the end of the night or anything? No.
- 40:46Speaker 14: I mean, I doesn't leave me unintentionally. I think he
- 40:49Speaker 14: got it.
- 40:49Speaker 8: But it was good.
- 40:50Speaker 4: How many dinners did you take with the guy?
- 40:52Speaker 3: One dinner? Two.
- 40:53Speaker 14: Two dinners.
- 40:54Speaker 12: Hmm.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:56Speaker 14: You can't just go one because then you look bad, right?
- 40:58Speaker 14: If you have to go back a second one, then
- 40:59Speaker 14: you can say.
- 41:00Speaker 15: Oh, I tried.
- 41:01Speaker 3: It didn't work out. Were they both at Fleming's? No.
- 41:05Speaker 14: The second one was at Uncorked.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Was where?
- 41:09Speaker 14: Uncorked?
- 41:09Speaker 3: I don't know that one. I don't know Uncorked.
- 41:11Speaker 14: It's like Corked, but it's the little tapas new place
- 41:17Speaker 14: next door to it.
- 41:17Speaker 15: It's really good, actually.
- 41:18Speaker 10: I highly recommend it.
- 41:19Speaker 14: There's a plug for them.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Which one is fancier, Fleming's or Uncorked?
- 41:26Speaker 10: Oh, Fleming's for sure.
- 41:27Speaker 3: So maybe he was catching on because your third date
- 41:29Speaker 3: would have been Applebee's.
- 41:30Speaker 6: Third date would have been McDonald's, right?
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yeah. Dawn, thanks for calling in.
- 41:37Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 41:38Speaker 8: Have a good day.
- 41:38Speaker 3: You too. That's classic. I just, I don't, I have
- 41:41Speaker 3: this pain in my stomach.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Like I, I just don't want to be with someone
- 41:46Speaker 4: anywhere that I don't enjoy.
- 41:47Speaker 3: I don't care what it is.
- 41:48Speaker 9: I feel like maybe that weird feeling. Have you ever
- 41:51Speaker 9: been foodie called before? Have you taken a couple of
- 41:53Speaker 9: people out and then like, dang, they just use me
- 41:55Speaker 9: for a meal.
- 41:56Speaker 3: You mean like coworkers? Probably. I guess it doesn't.
- 42:04Speaker 7: Have to be a romantic partner.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I guess it.
- 42:07Speaker 7: Could be anyone.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Throw it out there. More foodie calls.
- 42:09Speaker 10: 877-937-1047.
- 42:17Speaker 4: I heart festival is this weekend.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Peyton's going so jealous Peyton.
- 42:24Speaker 9: I'm like actually really, really excited because first of all,
- 42:27Speaker 9: like who doesn't love Vegas? And then also some of
- 42:29Speaker 9: the most like iconic artists are performing. And I felt
- 42:33Speaker 9: so seen by this study that I saw because apparently
- 42:36Speaker 9: like Gen Z, we have decided that we might not
- 42:39Speaker 9: be able to afford groceries, but we are definitely going
- 42:41Speaker 9: to our favorite artist concert.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Well, that's good.
- 42:44Speaker 6: I would feel the same way the entirety of my
- 42:47Speaker 6: whole life.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Priorities, right?
- 42:48Speaker 6: If it's somebody that you want to see, that's a
- 42:50Speaker 6: life moment that you can never recapture again.
- 42:53Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 42:54Speaker 6: I believe in that.
- 42:54Speaker 7: Gen Z is actually outspending people.
- 42:57Speaker 9: Every single other generation when it comes to live music
- 43:01Speaker 9: right now. So just a couple years ago, 75% of
- 43:03Speaker 9: Gen Zers said that ticket prices in general stopped them
- 43:06Speaker 9: from going. Now that number is down almost 20%, which
- 43:10Speaker 9: is so crazy to me because it makes sense. Like
- 43:12Speaker 9: when I go to like Filiberto's, It's $ 17 for a
- 43:16Speaker 9: breakfast burrito, and I feel like.
- 43:17Speaker 7: They're robbing me.
- 43:19Speaker 9: But when Ticketmaster puts something out there, and it's like $ 3.
- 43:21Speaker 7: 50 for lower bowl for SZA?
- 43:24Speaker 3: I'm intrigued.
- 43:25Speaker 6: Plus, you've got a courtesy fee or all those things
- 43:28Speaker 6: you can pay for.
- 43:28Speaker 3: What was the last concert?
- 43:30Speaker 4: I mean, I'm hoping that you go to the iHeart Festival,
- 43:32Speaker 4: that us working for iHeart, we're setting you up with that.
- 43:34Speaker 4: But what was the last concert you paid for? I
- 43:36Speaker 4: know what the last concert I paid for was.
- 43:38Speaker 7: SZA and Kendrick Lamar.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Okay. That was a great show.
- 43:41Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 6: Last one I paid for was Billie Eilish, and I
- 43:43Speaker 6: thought that was great. Oh, Billie's so good.
- 43:45Speaker 3: You paid for Billie Eilish? We couldn't get you tickets
- 43:47Speaker 3: to that?
- 43:48Speaker 6: You know, it's one of those things where my kid
- 43:50Speaker 6: wanted to go, and I didn't want to ask and
- 43:52Speaker 6: get told no, so I just bought tickets so we
- 43:54Speaker 6: had tickets.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Oh, what about you?
- 43:55Speaker 8: I said Jonas Brothers.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Oh, in Vegas?
- 43:57Speaker 7: I saw them in Vegas.
- 43:58Speaker 17: It was so fun.
- 43:58Speaker 6: Your husband's the voice of the Jonas Brothers.
- 44:01Speaker 9: I know.
- 44:03Speaker 8: We did not get hooked up with tickets or a
- 44:06Speaker 8: meet and greet, but it's fine.
- 44:08Speaker 7: They were still amazing.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Mine was Backstreet Boys at the Sphere in Vegas. It
- 44:12Speaker 4: was worth every penny. Worth every penny.
- 44:16Speaker 9: Worth every penny, but I feel like there's so many
- 44:17Speaker 9: other things out there that are also worth every penny.
- 44:20Speaker 9: Like there's a handful of things that I will make
- 44:22Speaker 9: sure I have no matter how broke I am. One,
- 44:25Speaker 9: being a really cute and comfortable pair of high heels.
- 44:28Speaker 6: You have to have one of those.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Non-negotiable.
- 44:31Speaker 6: Are there comfortable high heels?
- 44:33Speaker 7: Oh, yes.
- 44:34Speaker 6: There are some?
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yes.
- 44:35Speaker 6: I don't believe so.
- 44:36Speaker 8: There's comfortable wedges.
- 44:37Speaker 6: Really?
- 44:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 44:38Speaker 6: Not high heels though.
- 44:39Speaker 8: I've never experienced that.
- 44:40Speaker 6: I'm telling you, I've been married to Stacey Barrett for
- 44:43Speaker 6: a long time. She has many high heels and I've
- 44:44Speaker 6: never heard her say one pair is comfortable.
- 44:46Speaker 9: I wonder if she has a pair of Steve Maddens
- 44:48Speaker 9: in her closet because to me, those are like the
- 44:50Speaker 9: most comfortable shoes.
- 44:51Speaker 7: Well, I don't know.
- 44:52Speaker 9: Botox might be one for someone going to Disneyland, tickets,
- 44:56Speaker 9: things like that. I just feel like the things that
- 44:58Speaker 9: fill up our cup, no matter how broke we are,
- 45:00Speaker 9: I feel like we should find a way to make
- 45:01Speaker 9: it happen.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. Okay, what do you got, Kyle? What do you
- 45:05Speaker 3: think it's worth every penny? Botox.
- 45:07Speaker 6: She just nailed it right there, 100%.
- 45:09Speaker 8: What do you mean I can't say that? You might
- 45:12Speaker 8: say it's frozen, John Jay.
- 45:13Speaker 3: She already said it.
- 45:16Speaker 6: She would scowl at you right now, but she cannot.
- 45:18Speaker 7: I am scowling at you.
- 45:20Speaker 8: You may just not be able to see it.
- 45:22Speaker 3: That category is taken.
- 45:24Speaker 8: What about you, John Jay?
- 45:25Speaker 3: You can't use that.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I can, but no one else can get it.
- 45:29Speaker 4: I would say having a sauna. Worth every penny. I
- 45:32Speaker 4: sauna every single day. Every single day. And I think
- 45:35Speaker 4: it's worth every single penny that I've ever spent in it.
- 45:37Speaker 9: And what's nice about that, if your sauna goes down,
- 45:39Speaker 9: you can just go and sit out and bask in
- 45:41Speaker 9: the Arizona sun, get the same effect.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Especially in February.
- 45:43Speaker 8: Did any of you guys watch that movie, Good Fortune?
- 45:46Speaker 8: It's on Apple TV. And I guess it came out
- 45:48Speaker 8: in the movie theaters. It's got Keanu Reeves in it
- 45:50Speaker 8: and Seth Rogen and Aziz Ansari. And I guess it
- 45:53Speaker 8: was a flop in the theaters, but like on streaming,
- 45:55Speaker 8: it's been like doing really well. And I watched it.
- 45:59Speaker 8: It's funny because Seth Rogen plays this really rich guy
- 46:01Speaker 8: and Aziz Ansari becomes his like assistant for a little while.
- 46:05Speaker 8: And then they somehow switch lives because Keanu Reeves is
- 46:09Speaker 8: an angel and wanted to show Aziz Ansari, the other
- 46:12Speaker 8: side of the coin. But Seth Rogen, he's very about
- 46:16Speaker 8: his sauna and cold plunge. And finally, there's one scene
- 46:21Speaker 8: where all three of them are doing it.
- 46:23Speaker 3: And they're like, it's really about the back and forth. Yeah,
- 46:25Speaker 3: I remember it happening to Rooster, too. Watch out, John.
- 46:27Speaker 6: Jake Keanu Reeves might appear in your life. I would
- 46:30Speaker 6: love that. For me, it's car audio. I mean, you're
- 46:32Speaker 6: going to be in your car a long time. More
- 46:34Speaker 6: important than the car is the music that you listen to.
- 46:37Speaker 6: It needs to be quality.
- 46:38Speaker 5: Getting nothing but a busy signal. Text JJR. Send the
- 46:42Speaker 5: words call me to 96893. Get your voice heard with
- 46:46Speaker 5: John Jay and Richard.
- 46:47Speaker 6: We are looking for caller 104. Which line here, Nick?
- 46:51Speaker 6: Line 22, Richard. I didn't know we had 22 lines. Okay,
- 46:55Speaker 6: hold on. Hey, it's Kiss FM. Who's this?
- 46:58Speaker 17: This is Roxanna.
- 47:01Speaker 6: Roxanna, you are caller 104.
- 47:07Speaker 10: No way.
- 47:07Speaker 6: Yes, we are live. Don't cuss. Yahweh. I've been trying
- 47:12Speaker 6: all the week. Okay, we got to take this slow
- 47:15Speaker 6: because I want to make sure that you win.
- 47:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 47:18Speaker 6: Deep breath, Roxanna.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Deep breath.
- 47:20Speaker 6: Do you have the magic words?
- 47:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 47:24Speaker 6: Okay, let's visit them one at a time and slowly. Okay,
- 47:27Speaker 6: you go whenever you're ready.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Woody.
- 47:32Speaker 6: Check.
- 47:33Speaker 15: Pixar.
- 47:36Speaker 18: Check.
- 47:38Speaker 6: Just need one more.
- 47:39Speaker 13: Cookies.
- 47:40Speaker 6: I'm sorry, one more time.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Cookies.
- 47:43Speaker 6: Yep, that'll do it.
- 47:43Speaker 7: That's it.
- 47:44Speaker 13: Woo!
- 47:47Speaker 3: Woo!
- 47:48Speaker 6: Producer Nick is here. Roxanna at Disneyland. Producer Nick, what
- 47:51Speaker 6: did she win? She has won, Richard Barra, four.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I can't believe it.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Roxanna, I'm trying to tell you what you won. What
- 48:01Speaker 6: did I win?
- 48:02Speaker 18: Okay, four two-day, one park per day passes to the
- 48:06Speaker 18: happiest place on earth, Disneyland.
- 48:09Speaker 6: And you're going to get thrown in the hopper for
- 48:11Speaker 6: four three-day.
- 48:12Speaker 18: One park per day passes and a hotel stay at
- 48:16Speaker 18: the Disneyland Resort. That will be the grand prize drawn,
- 48:19Speaker 18: not Monday, but next Monday. A week from Monday.
- 48:24Speaker 15: Okay, thank you.
- 48:25Speaker 6: It's a lot to take in. What are you doing
- 48:26Speaker 6: now instead of working? What got your attention? How did
- 48:31Speaker 6: we get you?
- 48:33Speaker 1: I've been hearing the station all the time.
- 48:36Speaker 6: She's so nervous right now.
- 48:37Speaker 3: She's just ready. She's just ready.
- 48:38Speaker 6: She's like, just give me my tickets. I got to go.
- 48:40Speaker 6: All right, hold on the line, girl. We're going to
- 48:41Speaker 6: take care of you. Keep listening for your chance to win.
- 48:43Speaker 6: We do it again Monday.
- 48:49Speaker 7: For you, I guess you moved on really easily.
- 48:51Speaker 4: I've been going to Reddit a lot recently. And this
- 48:54Speaker 4: Reddit user asked people to share common knowledge facts that
- 48:59Speaker 4: they completely missed online. He says, did you ever find
- 49:02Speaker 4: out something recently that everyone else seemed to know years ago?
- 49:04Speaker 6: Yeah, that's good.
- 49:06Speaker 7: I'm like, that's a lot of things.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Like, did you know? I mean, I knew this.
- 49:10Speaker 8: Like, it's all the things where people are like, I
- 49:12Speaker 8: was two days.
- 49:12Speaker 4: Old yeah like like did you i mean i feel
- 49:15Speaker 4: like we all know this but pickles are cucumbers oh
- 49:17Speaker 4: yeah yeah that was number five on the list people
- 49:19Speaker 4: didn't know that pickles are cucumbers um this was actually
- 49:24Speaker 4: stupid but i really had to like read this to
- 49:27Speaker 4: go oh yeah ponies are not baby horses they're not
- 49:31Speaker 4: they're just ponies ponies are their own type of horse
- 49:33Speaker 4: and a baby horse is called a full or foul
- 49:36Speaker 4: full full full When we think about ponies, I always
- 49:39Speaker 4: thought pony was a baby horse. Reindeers are real animals,
- 49:42Speaker 4: not just Santa's helpers.
- 49:44Speaker 8: Yeah, they usually have them at schnip farms for like
- 49:47Speaker 8: the Christmas thing.
- 49:48Speaker 7: But they don't have their special power.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Do you know what is, uh, what chicken tenders are
- 49:53Speaker 3: short for?
- 49:54Speaker 7: Chicken tendies?
- 49:55Speaker 8: Wait, they're short for something?
- 49:57Speaker 3: Chicken tenders.
- 49:57Speaker 7: Oh, chicken tenderloin.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Chicken tenderloins.
- 50:00Speaker 15: Oh.
- 50:00Speaker 3: A lot of people had no idea that chicken tenders
- 50:02Speaker 3: are short for chicken tenderloins. Yeah.
- 50:04Speaker 7: I guess so.
- 50:04Speaker 8: They do come out like strips.
- 50:07Speaker 4: Uh, People didn't know that pineapples grow from plants on
- 50:10Speaker 4: the ground, not on trees.
- 50:13Speaker 3: I didn't know that. I thought it was a pineapple tree.
- 50:16Speaker 6: Pineapples grow what?
- 50:17Speaker 4: Like a visual palm tree and pineapples hanging off the
- 50:20Speaker 4: top of the palm tree.
- 50:21Speaker 6: That would be pretty cool. I guess you could make
- 50:23Speaker 6: a case for that.
- 50:23Speaker 3: Like their coconuts? I don't know where you see pineapples from.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Where would they say they're from? A plant on the ground.
- 50:28Speaker 3: What does that mean? You see a whole freaking pineapple?
- 50:30Speaker 8: I've never seen a pineapple in its natural habitat, quite honestly.
- 50:35Speaker 3: The beetles. You know why they're called the beetles?
- 50:37Speaker 6: Because of the beet, right?
- 50:39Speaker 4: It's a play on the word beet, not bugs.
- 50:41Speaker 3: They thought it was the English spelling of beetle.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Oh.
- 50:44Speaker 4: And the number one thing that people say, wow, I
- 50:46Speaker 4: didn't know that. I was 10 years old when I
- 50:48Speaker 4: found out that penguins are birds.
- 50:49Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Some people thought they were fish.
- 50:52Speaker 6: Penguins are, oh, here's one that messes me up all
- 50:54Speaker 6: the time that I forget. Bananas are berries, but strawberries
- 50:56Speaker 6: are not berries.
- 50:57Speaker 3: That screws me up all the time.
- 50:58Speaker 6: You've heard that, though, right?
- 50:59Speaker 3: Wait, no, wait.
- 51:00Speaker 8: Strawberries are not berries?
- 51:01Speaker 6: Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't because botanically, a berry
- 51:04Speaker 6: needs to develop from a single flower or With only
- 51:08Speaker 6: one ovary. So bananas qualify. Strawberries do not.
- 51:11Speaker 4: Oh, I thought it had something to do with the seed,
- 51:13Speaker 4: and that's why tomatoes are fruits or something.
- 51:15Speaker 6: Tomatoes are considered fruit.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Because they have seeds.
- 51:18Speaker 6: And strawberry, the seeds are on the outside.
- 51:21Speaker 7: So does that mean a cucumber is a fruit too?
- 51:22Speaker 7: Because they have seeds.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 7: Huh.
- 51:25Speaker 6: Yeah, it does.
- 51:26Speaker 8: I feel like we need to rework our definition of fruit.
- 51:28Speaker 6: But we like it.
- 51:29Speaker 8: Miriam Webster's dictionary is adding 1,400 words. Can we just
- 51:33Speaker 8: redefine what a fruit is?
- 51:35Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 8: The sweet ones.
- 51:38Speaker 6: Quit screwing with our hearts.
- 51:42Speaker 3: You got something else? You were today years old when
- 51:44Speaker 3: you found out what? Text us. Text JJR. And whatever
- 51:48Speaker 3: it is you found out, the 96893 or call us
- 51:49Speaker 3: at 877-937-1047.
- 51:55Speaker 4: Welcome to Ramones.
- 51:56Speaker 7: Start your day with John Jay and Rich. I wake
- 51:58Speaker 7: up with my favorite artist.
- 51:59Speaker 5: Hey, this is Sabrina Carpenter.
- 52:00Speaker 3: What's up, guys?
- 52:01Speaker 18: This is Post Malone.
- 52:02Speaker 6: It's Benson Boone, and you're waking up with John Jay
- 52:04Speaker 6: and Rich.
- 52:05Speaker 4: We used to do a segment on our show a
- 52:06Speaker 4: long time ago when Kyle was the partier.
- 52:09Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 4: Kyle would hit the club, so she would always come
- 52:12Speaker 4: in and talk about these crazy things that happened. We're like,
- 52:14Speaker 4: why don't you go record it and talk to some people?
- 52:15Speaker 4: So we came up with a segment called Ladies, a
- 52:17Speaker 4: meeting in the ladies' room. So, Kyle, you would interview
- 52:19Speaker 4: girls in the bathroom and talk about what's.
- 52:21Speaker 3: Going on, right? It was a smash of a hit.
- 52:22Speaker 10: Yes.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Now, we haven't done that in a while. Meanwhile, Dylan
- 52:26Speaker 3: joins the show. Dylan, how old are you?
- 52:27Speaker 7: I'm 23.
- 52:28Speaker 3: And you hit the clubs all the time.
- 52:29Speaker 10: I do, yes.
- 52:30Speaker 3: So we asked her to start interviewing.
- 52:33Speaker 4: And the whole concept was to just get the dish,
- 52:35Speaker 4: get the gossip, what's going on in the club, right?
- 52:37Speaker 3: So where were you this last weekend?
- 52:39Speaker 16: We started out in Tempe at Casa. Two of my
- 52:42Speaker 16: friends actually just started working there. So we went to
- 52:44Speaker 16: say hi and then we went to Old Town, which
- 52:47Speaker 16: is how it usually goes.
- 52:48Speaker 3: And where'd you go to Old Town?
- 52:49Speaker 16: In Old Town, we like to go to a few places.
- 52:52Speaker 16: We'll always go to Wasted Grain. We'll go to Casa
- 52:55Speaker 16: in Old.
- 52:55Speaker 3: Town as well.
- 52:56Speaker 16: So we really like Casa out there. There's Hi-Fi. There's
- 52:59Speaker 16: El Jefe, Riot House. We're all around the place.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Okay, so this is an amalgamation, if you will?
- 53:06Speaker 6: Yes, supposedly.
- 53:07Speaker 3: Does that work? Did I use that right?
- 53:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I think so.
- 53:09Speaker 3: This is the.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Montage of you hitting the clubs, talking to people, the gossip,
- 53:11Speaker 4: what's going on in the clubs. Okay, it's the first
- 53:12Speaker 4: time we're doing it. It's a meet in the ladies' room.
- 53:14Speaker 6: And now, John Jay and Rich present.
- 53:18Speaker 11: Still in, recording live from Casa Tampines.
- 53:23Speaker 7: Very chill start.
- 53:24Speaker 16: We're starting with 48 ounces of liquor.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Y'all have to beat me a lot. I'm sorry, y'all.
- 53:31Speaker 3: John Jay, my bad.
- 53:34Speaker 18: Dilly Pickle, in the first five minutes of meeting Dilly Pickle,
- 53:38Speaker 18: Dilly Pickle said, I love to lie to people.
- 53:40Speaker 5: Okay, that's speaking out of context.
- 53:44Speaker 16: That's Dilly Pickle. That is speaking out of context.
- 53:47Speaker 7: Everybody is listening. What happened to your drink.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Of choice today? Tonight, it's been a vodka. A vodka.
- 53:53Speaker 3: In the bucket.
- 53:54Speaker 7: In the bucket.
- 53:54Speaker 14: In the bucket.
- 53:55Speaker 1: To it all.
- 53:56Speaker 7: To it all.
- 53:56Speaker 18: To it all.
- 53:57Speaker 1: To it all.
- 53:57Speaker 16: Sounded like this segment should be called a butt dial.
- 54:17Speaker 3: It sounded like a butt sound. I couldn't hear her.
- 54:19Speaker 6: I mean, maybe they were in the ladies' room and
- 54:20Speaker 6: she was outside of the ladies' room.
- 54:22Speaker 16: Right.
- 54:23Speaker 6: I do like the theme song.
- 54:25Speaker 16: The 48 ounces of liquor might have had me holding
- 54:27Speaker 16: the microphone a little farther.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Oh, so you were drunk, too.
- 54:30Speaker 14: Well, no.
- 54:31Speaker 16: I mean, maybe I had my friends holding the mics.
- 54:34Speaker 3: A little bit farther.
- 54:35Speaker 11: Yeah, I know.
- 54:35Speaker 6: You sounded like you had a Dylan Buzz laugh going
- 54:37Speaker 6: on there.
- 54:38Speaker 13: It is.
- 54:40Speaker 17: It's hard.
- 54:41Speaker 7: It is loud in this club.
- 54:42Speaker 3: You're using wireless mics, right?
- 54:44Speaker 10: Yes.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Okay, pretend I'm one of the girls. How close did
- 54:46Speaker 3: you get the microphone to my face?
- 54:47Speaker 16: Probably like right here.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Right there? So I think you're going to have to
- 54:49Speaker 3: go like right here.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Right from that one.
- 54:51Speaker 8: But then you have to be careful that it's not distorted.
- 54:53Speaker 7: Right.
- 54:53Speaker 3: If it's too loud.
- 54:54Speaker 4: Well, then we learn the next time, get closer. And
- 54:57Speaker 4: then if it's not, go. I mean, you know what
- 54:59Speaker 4: I mean?
- 54:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Because that, I couldn't understand anything. I know.
- 55:03Speaker 16: There's a science to this.
- 55:04Speaker 6: I heard dill pickle.
- 55:06Speaker 16: There's a science to this.
- 55:07Speaker 6: Right, there is.
- 55:08Speaker 9: I know.
- 55:08Speaker 16: Can you believe I met that guy that night? And
- 55:10Speaker 16: he's calling me dilly pickle.
- 55:11Speaker 13: No, I don't.
- 55:11Speaker 3: I don't know what you're talking about. Like, that's what
- 55:13Speaker 3: you say. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 55:16Speaker 9: So you just randomly met a guy and he hung
- 55:19Speaker 9: out and hung.
- 55:20Speaker 7: Out with all you guys as friends?
- 55:21Speaker 3: Well, he was.
- 55:21Speaker 16: So I was with one of my best friends, Emma,
- 55:24Speaker 16: and my group of girl besties. And her boyfriend just
- 55:27Speaker 16: moved here. His name's Matthew. So he brought his friend, Jimmy, out.
- 55:30Speaker 16: So I had never met Jimmy before. And we had
- 55:33Speaker 16: a conversation and he took my quote out of context.
- 55:37Speaker 16: And yeah, his name was Jimmy. And he started calling
- 55:39Speaker 16: me Dilly Pickle within like the.
- 55:41Speaker 7: First few minutes.
- 55:41Speaker 9: I was like, you and your girlfriends are just picking
- 55:43Speaker 9: up straggler men. I'm like, how would your boyfriend feel
- 55:46Speaker 9: about that?
- 55:47Speaker 7: I would be like, that would be a fight.
- 55:49Speaker 3: She's working. She's talking to people. That's part of the thing.
- 55:53Speaker 7: But I was just clarifying.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Let's modify this and let's go. Let's make it better
- 55:58Speaker 4: for the next time. I think you got to get
- 56:00Speaker 4: closer to their mouth and your mouth too, because it's
- 56:02Speaker 4: hard to hear you. So are you like, do you
- 56:04Speaker 4: ask them? I didn't hear like, give me, what would
- 56:06Speaker 4: you ask them?
- 56:07Speaker 16: I was asking all sorts of questions to people. You
- 56:09Speaker 16: couldn't really hear.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Like what?
- 56:11Speaker 16: So I asked a lot of people, I said, what
- 56:13Speaker 16: is a bird that flies backwards?
- 56:15Speaker 3: You said that in there?
- 56:16Speaker 13: I didn't hear that.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Okay. That's what I'm saying. What is the bird that
- 56:19Speaker 3: flies backwards?
- 56:19Speaker 7: Hummingbird.
- 56:20Speaker 16: That tripped people up a lot.
- 56:22Speaker 3: That's good.
- 56:23Speaker 16: I asked someone, this is funny. I asked someone what
- 56:26Speaker 16: state is above Arizona and they said Utah. And I
- 56:29Speaker 16: was like, wait, I had Nevada, but I think Utah
- 56:31Speaker 16: is right too.
- 56:31Speaker 7: So is California.
- 56:34Speaker 6: What are we attached to?
- 56:36Speaker 7: There's a lot of states above us.
- 56:39Speaker 8: We're at the Southern part of the United States.
- 56:41Speaker 16: I had a few, I had some good questions.
- 56:43Speaker 7: Who sings Espresso?
- 56:45Speaker 3: Great question. I'll deck over.
- 56:47Speaker 6: People get it?
- 56:48Speaker 7: Everyone knows it.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:49Speaker 16: Everyone knows espresso.
- 56:50Speaker 8: I feel like you could ask, like, if a guy
- 56:53Speaker 8: came in with a Yelp review of your last date,
- 56:55Speaker 8: what would that review say? Or, and then you'd be like, well,
- 56:58Speaker 8: now it's your turn.
- 56:59Speaker 7: You could, like, give a Yelp review of your last date.
- 57:01Speaker 11: Totally.
- 57:02Speaker 3: That's good, too. Something like that. But you've got to
- 57:03Speaker 3: get good quality audio because we can't play it on
- 57:05Speaker 3: the radio. There's no way. Yeah, Kyle is your master Jedi.
- 57:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:08Speaker 6: Of meeting in the ladies room. She had that thing wired.
- 57:10Speaker 6: So you need to ask her questions.
- 57:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 57:12Speaker 6: So when you got in the field, will you go
- 57:14Speaker 6: out this next weekend?
- 57:15Speaker 3: I am.
- 57:15Speaker 16: I'm actually flying to New York tonight on a red
- 57:17Speaker 16: eye for a, a festival that me and my friends
- 57:20Speaker 16: are going to. So we can have another, another, I'll
- 57:23Speaker 16: have a redeeming shot.
- 57:24Speaker 3: Here, I'm going to give you some questions. I'm going
- 57:26Speaker 3: to run it off Peyton and she's sober. Are you
- 57:27Speaker 3: sober Peyton?
- 57:28Speaker 6: Right now?
- 57:29Speaker 10: Yes.
- 57:29Speaker 3: How many letters, how many letters are in the word alphabet?
- 57:32Speaker 7: Uh, 26.
- 57:33Speaker 3: No, only eight.
- 57:35Speaker 16: In the word?
- 57:36Speaker 7: Oh, I thought you were saying in the alphabet.
- 57:37Speaker 6: My bad.
- 57:38Speaker 4: Peyton, if you have three apples and take away two,
- 57:41Speaker 4: how many do you have?
- 57:42Speaker 2: One.
- 57:42Speaker 3: You have two.
- 57:45Speaker 7: You have three apples?
- 57:45Speaker 8: Because you took away two apples.
- 57:47Speaker 7: Okay, these are trick questions. Give me another one.
- 57:50Speaker 3: If a rooster lays an egg on top of a roof,
- 57:51Speaker 3: which way does it roll?
- 57:53Speaker 5: Down.
- 57:54Speaker 3: Roosters don't lay eggs.
- 57:55Speaker 13: Okay.
- 57:58Speaker 3: Maybe you don't even need to ask drug people. That's
- 58:00Speaker 3: a trick question. Or just go to Circle K.
- 58:01Speaker 16: I did have a question. I did have a trick
- 58:03Speaker 16: one on there. It was, if you ate yourself, would
- 58:05Speaker 16: you get twice as big or disappear?
- 58:07Speaker 3: If you did what?
- 58:08Speaker 16: If you ate yourself, would you get twice as big
- 58:10Speaker 16: or disappear?
- 58:10Speaker 3: I would never leave the house.
- 58:11Speaker 6: I don't know the answer.
- 58:12Speaker 14: All right.
- 58:13Speaker 3: So that's a meeting in this lady room. Meeting in
- 58:15Speaker 3: the lady's room. We'll try again.
- 58:17Speaker 6: There we go.
- 58:18Speaker 3: It's John Jay and Rich. So doom scrolling is a
- 58:28Speaker 3: big problem, I think. Big, big, big problem. And I
- 58:30Speaker 3: also think blooping is a big problem.
- 58:33Speaker 4: Blooping. Or flubbing. When you're talking to somebody and then
- 58:36Speaker 4: they get on their phone while you're talking in.
- 58:37Speaker 3: Front of you.
- 58:38Speaker 8: Or flubbing, like phone snubbing.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Phone snubbing, yeah. But doom scrolling, I think, is a big.
- 58:42Speaker 4: Like, I'll see my wife sometimes on the phone in
- 58:44Speaker 4: the kitchen just scrolling. And I think it does something
- 58:47Speaker 4: to the brain that's negative.
- 58:49Speaker 9: Yeah, I actually came across this thing and it's things
- 58:51Speaker 9: that we did in the 2000s instead of doom scrolling.
- 58:55Speaker 9: Because doom scrolling, I mean, it's a new thing now
- 58:56Speaker 9: with social media. I mean, you get addicted to your
- 58:59Speaker 9: phone literally hours will go by.
- 59:01Speaker 3: Okay, wait, wait.
- 59:01Speaker 4: So is it equivalent to doom scrolling or it's something
- 59:04Speaker 4: better than doom scrolling?
- 59:05Speaker 9: It's just something that we did instead of doom scrolling.
- 59:08Speaker 9: So in the times where we're finding ourselves doom scrolling.
- 59:10Speaker 9: scrolling on our phone, back in the 2000s, we used
- 59:12Speaker 9: to fill up our time with other things.
- 59:13Speaker 6: That's true.
- 59:14Speaker 3: You know what I used to do? What? I used
- 59:16Speaker 3: to channel surf.
- 59:17Speaker 6: Channel surf.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Channels?
- 59:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:18Speaker 3: That's all I care.
- 59:19Speaker 4: John Jay was really good at that. I would sit
- 59:21Speaker 4: there and just channel, just like doom surf, I would
- 59:23Speaker 4: just channel surf.
- 59:24Speaker 6: I'm telling you, he had a sense for it because
- 59:26Speaker 6: I'd beat his house. We'd be watching like Oprah together.
- 59:29Speaker 6: That's right. And then they go to commercial. John Jay
- 59:32Speaker 6: tuned in like three other programs that go right back
- 59:34Speaker 6: to Oprah. And it was right back.
- 59:35Speaker 7: Yeah. Literally right here. Click through the TV channel guide.
- 59:39Speaker 7: You got it right there, John Jay.
- 59:40Speaker 9: One of them was called into radio stations to request
- 59:43Speaker 9: songs and win tickets.
- 59:44Speaker 3: That's good.
- 59:45Speaker 7: We made our own music videos with our friends. I
- 59:47Speaker 7: definitely did that.
- 59:48Speaker 6: Same.
- 59:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:49Speaker 9: Flipped through band posters like when we'd go to the
- 59:51Speaker 9: stores at Walmart or whatever.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Spencer's.
- 59:53Speaker 7: Spencer's. We would burn our own CDs with our own playlists.
- 59:57Speaker 6: I've got tons of them still.
- 59:58Speaker 7: We would walk through Blockbuster. We would play MASH.
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: You guys remember MASH? Mansion, apartment, house, or shack, or whatever,
- 1:00:04Speaker 9: and you'd play that with your friends. We would call
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: our friends on three-way. We would paint our nails and
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: do our own nail art.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Wait, wait, hold on, hold on, hold on. Maya's got one. Maya,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: what do you got? What did you do in the
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: 2000s instead of doom-scrolling?
- 1:00:15Speaker 12: I was literally just talking about this the other day
- 1:00:17Speaker 12: with my friends. We would go on Napster. Remember Napster? Yes.
- 1:00:22Speaker 12: You know, you'd scroll for what to download songs, movies,
- 1:00:25Speaker 12: whatever it was. And then what you would do is
- 1:00:28Speaker 12: while it was downloading, you would hit play and you'd
- 1:00:30Speaker 12: listen to the three seconds or whatever downloaded. And then
- 1:00:33Speaker 12: you'd wait a little bit longer and then you'd get
- 1:00:35Speaker 12: to listen to it to six seconds and you'd wait
- 1:00:37Speaker 12: a little longer.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:00:38Speaker 12: Do you remember? Because you were so excited to hear the.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Song or watch the show, right?
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:43Speaker 12: You just like restarted and you would see the beginning
- 1:00:46Speaker 12: like 1700 times because it took what, three weeks to.
- 1:00:48Speaker 13: Download a song?
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: Seriously.
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: Especially if you got a high bit rate of a song,
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: it'd take a long time.
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: And then like when they were coming down hard on Napster,
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: you were like all worried they were going to come
- 1:00:57Speaker 8: after you.
- 1:00:58Speaker 12: Oh yeah, I thought they were coming to my house.
- 1:01:00Speaker 12: My mom was like, you better delete that off the computer.
- 1:01:02Speaker 12: They're coming to find you. You're going to go to prison.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: I'm a teenager.
- 1:01:05Speaker 12: I don't even know what I'm doing. I just want
- 1:01:08Speaker 12: to watch movies and listen to my songs that are
- 1:01:12Speaker 12: on the radio all the time. What are you talking about?
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: I remember the countdown because it was going to end
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: at a certain point, and I made it, like, my
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: job to download every acoustic version, every remix of everything
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: I could possibly find.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Oh, that's a good one, Maya.
- 1:01:26Speaker 12: I remember staying up for, like, a week, like, just, like,
- 1:01:28Speaker 12: downloading everything.
- 1:01:29Speaker 15: Like, I need this.
- 1:01:30Speaker 12: This is my last chance, you know?
- 1:01:32Speaker 10: Like, I felt like Rose, like.
- 1:01:34Speaker 12: Holding onto that board after Titanic. Like, I was holding
- 1:01:36Speaker 12: on for dear life, you know? I needed this, so.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: It's so funny.
- 1:01:40Speaker 14: What a time, right?
- 1:01:41Speaker 12: What a time.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: The 2000s were so fun. Thanks, Maya. Thanks for calling in.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: Thank you. I love you guys.
- 1:01:46Speaker 12: Thanks for having me on.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Bye. What else, Peyton?
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: Yeah, we would make outfits from what was in our closet.
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: We would just mix and match. This one I was
- 1:01:54Speaker 9: just talking about the other day, learning lyrics from the
- 1:01:56Speaker 9: CD booklets. Like you would take it out and you'd
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: learn all the lyrics to all the songs. Same thing
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: that Maya said, download songs illegally, like off of LimeWire
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: or Napster.
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: We would make those cootie catchers.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: Oh, these things? These things? Yeah.
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: And it would give you your wish.
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: We would curate our own voicemail greetings. Sometimes we would
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: prank call. We would take those magazine quizzes. We would
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: bedazzle everything. And then some of my favorite would be
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: eavesdropped on and pranked our siblings, like on the landlines.
- 1:02:27Speaker 9: They listen to what they're talking about. And this one
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: was one of my favorite was explored the bonus features
- 1:02:33Speaker 9: on DVDs.
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: I remember when we had.
- 1:02:35Speaker 9: When all the Disney movies, they would have these like
- 1:02:37Speaker 9: bonus games that you could go and play and we
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: would play it in the car.
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: And it was so fun.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: It was like, they used to have this thing on
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: the DVDs, the movies where the actors that started the
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: movie would talk over the movie.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Remember that? And it would tell you what was going
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: on in this scene.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: And it was so hard to watch, but I would
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: watch it be like, Oh, Matthew McConaughey is talking about
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: what happened here in this movie.
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: Cause you're inside. I used to buy tons of magazines.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: That was my doom scrolling at the beginning of the month.
- 1:03:01Speaker 6: I would go into whatever the Barnes and Noble or the,
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: Whatever the bookstores were that are all gone now and
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: grab magazines.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: They're back, Jack. Bookstores are back. Yeah, I know.
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: But the magazines are back. Reading is cool, but like
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: the magazines, there's just not as many. They're all online.
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: Yeah, totally. But all the things that we did in
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: the 2000s before doom scrolling.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: That was fun. It was a fun little segment.
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: It was fun to like live our life instead of
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: doom scrolling.
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:03:26Speaker 7: Instead of living other people's lives because that's all we
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: do and we're looking through a screen.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: Well, the problem is like when I was talking about
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: channel surfing, like I would channel surf and I'd channel
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: surf the stuff that I'd like, right? The problem with
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: doom scrolling now is if you see a news story
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: and you click on it and you watch it for
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: more than two seconds, it thinks that's all you want.
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: So that all you get, like last week I took
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: a trip with a couple of my buddies. And one
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: of them was all he was talking about how China
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: is taking over the United States and destroying the United States.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: I'm like, where do you get that? He says, it's
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: on my feed. Like, it's not on my feed.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: And then he goes, because he watched one video that
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: said something about China is trying to play the long
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: game and destroy the United States.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: And that's all he gets.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: And then the other guy, all he got, he's like, oh,
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: my feed, all I get are like selling baseball cards. Well,
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: both of you guys, that's what you're caught up in.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: I don't think you can believe any of that stuff,
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: but doom scrolling is what starts it all. You got
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: to stay away from, you got to get away from
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: doom scrolling. The Traders, boy, that was a good show
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: last night. and they're giving us $ 250 to give away,
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: which is pretty awesome. We've got Lori on the line. Lori,
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: did you watch it?
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:04:42Speaker 15: Oh, I'm so excited to be talking to you.
- 1:04:44Speaker 8: I'm so excited.
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: You know, I think, Nick, you're the only one on
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: the show besides me that loves Traders. Oh, my God.
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: I love it so much.
- 1:04:51Speaker 18: And I think the thing I love most about the
- 1:04:55Speaker 18: Traders is just how seriously Alan takes it.
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: Or how not seriously he takes it, but he is drama. Yeah, no,
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: he is the most drama. It's fantastic. Okay, so here
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: we go, Lori. Your chance is $ 250. Are you ready?
- 1:05:08Speaker 15: Yes, I am ready.
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: The Traitor's New Blood premiered last night. New episodes are
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: every Thursday at 7, only on NBC12 News. And you
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: can stream it the next day on Peacock. Lori, how
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: many traitors did Alan pick in last night's premiere episode?
- 1:05:24Speaker 10: The answer is two.
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: Oh, you're good.
- 1:05:27Speaker 8: The answer is two.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Very good joke. All right. Ding, ding, ding, ding.
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: They go, congratulations, you just won 250 bucks from the traders.
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: New blood. Don't miss the treachery and deceit as host
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: Alan Cumming opens up his castle doors to everyday Americans
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: every Thursday at 7, only on the NBC 12 News
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: and stream it the next day on Peacock.
- 1:05:51Speaker 11: Thank you so much.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: I love you. Hang on, Lori.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 1:05:56Speaker 8: Flying could be about to get a lot less annoying. So,
- 1:05:59Speaker 8: you know, when your flight gets delayed and it kind
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: of feels like everything just snowballs from there. The FAA
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: is actually rolling out a new AI powered system they
- 1:06:07Speaker 8: call smart. And apparently it can look at like weather
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: packed airports, flight schedules and crowded airspace.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: All at once.
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: In hopes that eventually it can keep one problem from
- 1:06:16Speaker 8: turning into a whole day of delays. Meanwhile, Costco is
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: massively expanding how you can get stuff delivered. DoorDash is
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: beginning delivery from every Costco location in the United States,
- 1:06:28Speaker 8: and Uber is expanding Costco delivery to 47 states, which
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: is a pretty major shift for a company that historically
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: made us physically walk through the warehouse and somehow leave
- 1:06:38Speaker 8: $ 300 poorer than you actually intended. The finalists for the
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: National Toy Hall of Fame are out. And this year,
- 1:06:45Speaker 8: Pokemon cards are somehow battling Tickle Me Elmo, Bingo, and
- 1:06:49Speaker 8: The Slide. So there's 12 finalists total. And we can
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: actually all vote through September 23rd on the toys that
- 1:06:56Speaker 8: actually make it into the Hall of Fame.
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: That'll be announced in November.
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: So this is really cool. Arizona Restaurant Week actually starts
- 1:07:03Speaker 8: today through September 27th. If you're a foodie or you
- 1:07:06Speaker 8: just want to kind of like try a bunch of
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: new places, there are a lot of restaurants around the
- 1:07:11Speaker 8: valley that participate. New participants this time include Nobu Scottsdale,
- 1:07:15Speaker 8: Virtue Honest Craft, Culinary Gangster in Tempe and Hot and
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: Juicy Crawfish. It is basically where all these restaurants offer
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: a special prefixed menus. And it's just kind of cool
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: to see all the great food we've got in our
- 1:07:26Speaker 8: own backyard.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: And that's what you need to know.
