- 0:07Speaker 3: President, Democrats got their issue.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I guess, a major breakthrough on the partial shutdown at
- 0:12Speaker 1: Homeland Security, that the immigration standoff is far from over.
- 0:16Speaker 1: President Trump extending a deadline for Iran to reopen the
- 0:19Speaker 1: strait of her moves amid reports the Pentagon is considering
- 0:22Speaker 1: sending more troops to the Middle East. Another frightening close
- 0:27Speaker 1: call at a busy US airport, this time on the
- 0:29Speaker 1: West Coast. A Utah mother sounds the alarm after her
- 0:33Speaker 1: son plays an online game using images linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Now the school district is taking action, and Taylor Swift
- 0:41Speaker 1: takes home an armful of trophies. Plus what she said

- 0:47Speaker 1: their Awards Show debut. We have much more what you
- 0:51Speaker 1: need to know now, By'm Maggie Rouley from ABC News.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It's Friday, March twenty seventh. This is what you need
- 0:57Speaker 1: to know. We'll show you the signature change coming to
- 0:59Speaker 1: our bills, and a major development in the case of
- 1:02Speaker 1: the accused at Gilgo Beach serial killer. But first the
- 1:05Speaker 1: big story. There's a major breakthrough on Capitol Hill after
- 1:08Speaker 1: weeks of gridlock and a partial government shut down at
- 1:12Speaker 1: the Department of Homeland Security, a funding deal is now
- 1:15Speaker 1: moving forward. Let's get right to Sophie Flay with the details.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Maggie Wawmakers took a major step toward ending the partial
- 1:21Speaker 4: government shutdown at the Department of Homeland Security. Senators approved
- 1:25Speaker 4: a funding package early Friday morning, restoring money for key
- 1:28Speaker 4: agencies like TSA, FEMA, the Coastguard, and cybersecurity operations. The
- 1:32Speaker 4: shutdown left TSA officers working without pay, sparking NASS callouts
- 1:37Speaker 4: and some of the longest airport security lines on record.
- 1:40Speaker 4: The deal leaves out funding for ICE and parts of
- 1:42Speaker 4: Customs and Border Protection, marking a partial victory for Democrats
- 1:46Speaker 4: who had demanded reforms to immigration enforcement.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Democrats held firm in our opposition that Donald Trump's rogue
- 1:54Speaker 5: and deadly militia should not get more funding without serious reform,
- 2:00Speaker 5: and we will continue to fight for those reforms.
- 2:03Speaker 4: But Republicans accused the Democrats of playing politics and derailing negotiations.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Self interest over reform, pandering to their base over actually
- 2:15Speaker 3: solving a problem. It's an appalling commentary on the state
- 2:20Speaker 3: of the Democrat party.
- 2:21Speaker 4: The bill now heads to the House and would still
- 2:23Speaker 4: need President Trump's signature before most of the shutdown can
- 2:26Speaker 4: officially end. But the fight over immigration funding is far
- 2:30Speaker 4: from over, with Republicans vowing a new push later this
- 2:33Speaker 4: year that could dramatically expand deportations.
- 2:37Speaker 1: The other big story is the war with the Rod.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Fifteen hundred paratroopers from the eighty second Airborn Division are
- 2:42Speaker 1: headed to the Middle East, and now the Wall Street
- 2:45Speaker 1: Journals reporting that the Pentagon is considering sending ten thousand
- 2:48Speaker 1: additional ground troops. It's a move that could give President
- 2:52Speaker 1: Trump more options as he trades messages with Iran about
- 2:55Speaker 1: ending the war. The President said he's extending the deadline
- 2:58Speaker 1: for Iran, giving them ten more days is to reopen
- 3:00Speaker 1: the strait of her moves or face strikes on their
- 3:02Speaker 1: power plants.
- 3:05Speaker 2: They want to make a deal.
- 3:06Speaker 6: The reason they want to make a deal is they
- 3:08Speaker 6: have been just beatd.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Now lawmakers on both sides are expressing concerns about putting
- 3:14Speaker 1: American boots on the ground. Rachel has more, Hey, Maggie
- 3:19Speaker 1: Will President Trump has now extended his deadline for a
- 3:22Speaker 1: second time for iron to reopen the strait of her moves.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Now he's saying he will give Iran an additional ten
- 3:27Speaker 1: more days to comply or.
- 3:29Speaker 7: Face the consequences. If Iran does not comply, the President
- 3:33Speaker 7: says he will bomb their crucial power plants. All of
- 3:36Speaker 7: this comes as Iran insists there are no talks or
- 3:39Speaker 7: negotiations under way, but they do acknowledge that the two
- 3:42Speaker 7: sides are trading messages using Pakistan as a go between.
- 3:46Speaker 7: Over on Capitol Hill, there is growing concern from many lawmakers,
- 3:50Speaker 7: Republicans and Democrats that the President is preparing to put
- 3:53Speaker 7: American troops on the ground. Take a listen to what
- 3:56Speaker 7: some Republicans told me.
- 3:58Speaker 6: I think that if the President decides to commit troops
- 4:02Speaker 6: on the ground, he needs to he needs to come
- 4:06Speaker 6: talk to a sh in Congress. That's a major step.
- 4:08Speaker 7: Is that something that you would be comfortable with personally?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Well, I hope it would not come to that.
- 4:13Speaker 6: That would be a concern to me.
- 4:15Speaker 1: A developing story in Hawaii, at least three people are
- 4:18Speaker 1: dead after a helicopter crash on Kauwaii Country. Officials say
- 4:22Speaker 1: it was a tourist helicopter that crashed into the ocean
- 4:25Speaker 1: near a remote beach on Thursday afternoon. Two other people
- 4:28Speaker 1: were taken to a hospital. A full investigation is underway.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Authorities in southern California are investigating a near disaster. Flight
- 4:36Speaker 1: data shows a National Guard black Hawk helicopter crossing in
- 4:40Speaker 1: front of a United Airlines plane as the plane was
- 4:42Speaker 1: trying to land at John Wayne Airport. The plane, carrying
- 4:45Speaker 1: one hundred and sixty eight people, was then forced to
- 4:47Speaker 1: abort the landing after its anti collision system was triggered.
- 4:52Speaker 3: The alarm that the United jet gotten its cockpit was
- 4:54Speaker 3: the most serious alarm possible.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Preliminary data shows only five hundred and twenty five feet
- 5:00Speaker 1: of vertical separation. A brother and sister have been charged
- 5:03Speaker 1: in connection with an explosive device found outside McDill Air
- 5:07Speaker 1: Force Base in Tampa. The base is home to Central Command,
- 5:10Speaker 1: which is directing the war against Iran. The device did
- 5:12Speaker 1: not detonate, but officials say it was a viable bomb
- 5:15Speaker 1: and potentially deadly. They say it was planted by twenty
- 5:18Speaker 1: year old Alan Young, who then fled to China. His
- 5:21Speaker 1: sister was arrested, accused of helping him cover up the
- 5:24Speaker 1: alleged crime. A major development in the Gilgo Beach serial
- 5:28Speaker 1: killer case on New York's Long Island. Sources familiar with
- 5:32Speaker 1: the case say accused killer Rex Huerman may soon change
- 5:35Speaker 1: his plea to guilty as part of a deal. Prosecutors
- 5:38Speaker 1: alleged he killed seven women, with DNA linking him to
- 5:41Speaker 1: several of the murders. Families of the victims say a
- 5:44Speaker 1: plea agreement could come as soon as next month. Next
- 5:47Speaker 1: Today's Show host Savannah Guthrie's emotional first interview since the
- 5:51Speaker 1: disappearance of her mother. Guthrie reveals the back doors of
- 5:54Speaker 1: her mom's Tucson area home were found propped open after
- 5:57Speaker 1: Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February first. Savannah also
- 6:01Speaker 1: talking about her job being a possible reason her mom
- 6:04Speaker 1: was targeted.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I just so, do you think because of me? I'm sorry, sweetie. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 2: maybe wach is too much to bear to think that
- 6:28Speaker 2: I brought this to her.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Savannah Guthrie also saying her family believes the ransom demand
- 6:35Speaker 1: they received came from whoever is responsible. We have much
- 6:38Speaker 1: more what you need to know now to take three
- 6:51Speaker 1: the stories you'll be talking about today. Number three. A
- 6:54Speaker 1: mother in Utah is raising concerns after she says her
- 6:57Speaker 1: son played a game called five Nights at Epstein's while
- 7:01Speaker 1: at school. The game, available through a web browser, features
- 7:04Speaker 1: real photos released by the DOJ depicting convicted sex offender
- 7:08Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's private island. The school district says it is
- 7:11Speaker 1: aware of the issue and has taken steps to block
- 7:14Speaker 1: the game. Number two MLB Opening Day and one special

- 7:33Speaker 1: star studded night of the iHeart Music Radio Awards at
