- 0:14Matt is the dad who went and got a pack of smokes, never came.
- 0:18Back. I was going to make that joke
- 0:19too. Yeah.
- 0:19Thank you. Yeah, he's a he's a dumb piece
- 0:21of shit dumpy. He left the he left the family.
- 0:23He didn't want to deal with it. Yeah, he's a dumpy bitch.
- 0:26He just wants the residuals later.
- 0:28Yeah, he's a dumpy bitch. That's funny.
- 0:31I've I've been I was watching him play dispatch before you you
- 0:34came over and I'm surprised that he's already made it to episode
- 0:388. He's already done with the whole
- 0:40show and he started or the whole game and he started playing like
- 0:42a couple days ago and I was like, damn, I was like, I
- 0:45basically played an episode every night.
- 0:46Give or. Take is he off work right now?
- 0:48No, I think he just has free time during the day if the Tara
- 0:53and. The Nikki.
- 0:55Nikki, thank you. Tara and Nikki are gone but I
- 1:02don't. I have only gotten like glimpses
- 1:07of his playthrough through John of which I will read them on
- 1:10stream. Because neither of them listen
- 1:11or not. Not on stream, but on on the
- 1:13show because neither of them listen to this because they're
- 1:15not good friends. Yeah, they're bad friends.
- 1:17It's going to be so funny if this is the first episode they
- 1:19listen to. Bad friends going to hell.
- 1:23He said I messaged him today because I saw them in the
- 1:26Discord today at noon. I said tell me the decisions he
- 1:28makes. Is he going for Invisigal?
- 1:30And John said he's flirting with them both.
- 1:32Not that that should surprise you.
- 1:34In the same seconds that he sent this message, I said I should
- 1:37have known. So we know Matt quite well and
- 1:43then he said that he in this current portion of dispatch, he
- 1:46had downed Prism and Gollum. And I said that also checks out
- 1:50because Matt is Matt's racist Nate's non humanoid forms.
- 1:54So there you go, Matt. That's.
- 1:59That's that's PB Freak 42 on Twitch if you want to.
- 2:02Know penis breath freak 42. He's going to be, he's just
- 2:05going to wake up to a flurry of DMS. He's going to be like, what
- 2:08the fuck, guys? Matthew Grant, PB Freak 42.
- 2:14Impressive. Check them out everybody.
- 2:18And the city of. I'll bleep it out.

- 2:42they got on the store. Good stuff.
- 2:43I'm wearing the 9 inch nail shirt right now from Final Boss.
- 2:46Love it love it love it. Also please check out the other
- 2:49shows Roll for Deception and it came from Screen Box.
- 2:52Lots of cool stuff happening on those shows.
- 2:55YouTube's coming back shortly. Well, more.
- 2:58Roll for deception takes a little while there's.
- 3:01Production value in that. There is production value.
- 3:04Yes, there is production value in that.
- 3:05Whereas WASD and beyond it, it came from screen.
- 3:08Yeah, there's production value in screen box because we watch
- 3:10the movie, then we do the thing. I would argue there's the most
- 3:13production value in screen box because you guys watch a movie
- 3:15and then record the thing. Yeah, rule for deception is is
- 3:20basically 3 hours of like light edited content.
- 3:25Yeah. I've actually never personally
- 3:28listened to them other than when I've missed them because I play
- 3:32it, I don't need to listen to it.
- 3:33I mean, I give it the 40 seconds so that way it gets the the
- 3:36listen, but I don't, I don't actually, I I hate hearing
- 3:39hearing myself on recording it. Really.
- 3:42Oh, I hate it. I hate it.
- 3:43I know I have a radio voice but I hate it.
- 3:44I have a very I have a very nasally voice whenever I hear
- 3:47myself and it bothers me so. Oh, you know what?
- 3:52What? Go listen to me on Podcasting
- 3:54with Power. Yes.
- 3:56Zach and Jordan are gems. Yes.
- 3:58Hi, Zach. We work today.
- 4:00Hi, Zach. Hi Jordan.
- 4:01We, yeah, we work with, we work with Zach.
- 4:03Go support our friends. We're going to plug them in
- 4:05every episode from now on because they're of course, and
- 4:08you should go check them out. I'll put a link down below for
- 4:11Podcast with power. I was just on the episode about
- 4:13the Super Mario Brothers movie. Not the one you've watched, one
- 4:17from the. 90s I've never seen any of them so.
- 4:19I was talking to the audience. Oh.
- 4:22Yeah, wait. I just wanted to leave that.
- 4:27Yeah, we'll just, we'll just, we'll just sweep that one away.
- 4:30What have you been playing this week, Evan?
- 4:32Oh man, Nick, I'm so happy to talk to you today.
- 4:39What have I been playing this week?
- 4:40I played on Tuesday. I played.
- 4:43I played Arc Raiders because I wanted to play the new map.
- 4:46The ribbon Tides I think is how you.
- 4:48Say, is there like a new glider too?
- 4:50So that I did not get access to. I only played.
- 4:52I'll, I'll be honest, I only played two matches.
- 4:56The first one I escaped in, but that was really light.
- 5:01There is no enemies or anything like that.
- 5:03I just kind of was able to get a couple arcs and then leave.
- 5:06The second one is a little more PvP heavy.
- 5:12Here's the thing, I see why people are still playing this
- 5:15game. As a matter of fact, we looked
- 5:16earlier today or I looked earlier today.
- 5:18Marathon is not doing well. Marathon is not doing well, but
- 5:22what I was more focusing on, even though these are different
- 5:24titles and different, they're both shooters but different
- 5:29styles. Battlefield 6 on Steam.
- 5:33Currently it's all time it's 24 hour peak of over the past day
- 5:38which we're recording this on Thursday the 30th it's it's 24
- 5:43hour peak was 40,000. That's.
- 5:46Great. On Steam on No, no, no, no, no.
- 5:50That's no, no, no, no, no. 40,000 is bad, Nick.
- 5:54Do you know why? It was in the IT was in the
- 5:58multiple hundreds of thousands in October on Steam.
- 6:02Oh, that's very bad. And like as in, and this is
- 6:04where I this is where I'm getting into as an example, at
- 6:07the same time Arc Raiders on Steam DB was at 92,000 92,000.
- 6:15That is that is eclipsing marathon on Steam by several
- 6:20amounts. Like it's like it's like 8000.
- 6:22It was like 8000. It's like it's like single
- 6:24thousands. It's not even double.
- 6:26I would like to see the numbers for Marathon on console.
- 6:29That's true. That's that's a fairpoint.
- 6:31However, I think that they would be arguably as bad, if not
- 6:34worse, but. Should have made it a single
- 6:37player game as well. I think that probably would
- 6:39have, would have saved them. So that gives me a, that gives
- 6:42me a, an interesting thing of why does Arc Raiders survive?
- 6:45And I don't know if that's the PBE aspect.
- 6:47I don't know, 'cause I'm not a PVE player.
- 6:49I don't, especially in a, in an extraction shooter, not my gym.
- 6:54I I want to fight people like that's my, my, my goal.
- 6:59I think it survives because of the community.
- 7:02I think because it's not as hardcore as it needs to be.
- 7:08It's accessible marathon for as and let's just get this out the
- 7:13gate. Marathon is a blast.
- 7:15Marathon is. Very.
- 7:16It's not a bad game, this. I'm actually.
- 7:19Great game that we want to go back to.
- 7:21This this weekend I'm excited to play it because they're now
- 7:24apparently giving everyone a Cryo Archive kit on the
- 7:27weekends, so you have a kit that you can use for free to just run
- 7:31in for the first time. And I didn't really play too
- 7:33much of Cryo Archive, so I want to actually give and try it.
- 7:35We will run through cryo. We'll do it.
- 7:38Marathon is again fantastic. Great stuff, smooth, beautiful.
- 7:45Love the game, the loop is awesome, but it is not
- 7:49accessible. It is not accessible to someone
- 7:51like me who works 40 sometimes 50 hours a week depending upon
- 7:56our our workload. Right, like.
- 7:57Yeah, depending on how much work we have going on.
- 7:59Yeah. We're, we're working a little
- 8:01bit longer each day. Yeah.
- 8:02Sure. So I get on and the last thing I
- 8:05really want to do is hop into a game where there have been kids
- 8:10playing and people playing from fucking 3:00 AM up until the
- 8:14time I'm off at 5:00, get home at 7:00 almost.
- 8:17And they're just, they know the tricks.
- 8:19They've watched the burnt peanut, they've watched fucking
- 8:24all those other big streamers. I can't believe I just called
- 8:26him out and no one else. That sucks.
- 8:28I mean, you have, you have a lot of streamers, right?
- 8:30You have. You have.
- 8:30Shroud and you have. You know, you have a lot of
- 8:34people that are playing these games and I think that comes in
- 8:36hand in hand with unfortunately just the gaming scene in general
- 8:39to not to cut you off, but to tie into what you're saying,
- 8:43there's that there's a lot of people who wants to.
- 8:45Play like them. There's there's a lot of people
- 8:47who just want to play like them and there's a lot of people who
- 8:48have a lot of free time on their hands to, to just like mainline
- 8:53the game and a lot of people who just figure out what they need
- 8:56to do right then and there to get like the levels the
- 8:58quickest. And that's all they do for like
- 8:59a week and a half. Like, I'll be perfectly honest,
- 9:02I am not someone who can reasonably sit down for weeks
- 9:07and weeks and weeks and play the exact same shooter.
- 9:10I can't play Battlefield 6. I wish I could play like.
- 9:13I think I probably played Battlefield 6 for like a good
- 9:17week and a half, two weeks when it, when it came out like
- 9:20everyday at least for a couple of hours.
- 9:22I played for those first, like maybe that first month.
- 9:25But I am not someone who can reasonably get on and play only
- 9:32one game for multiple hours a day and multiple like weeks at a
- 9:38time. Like I I'll fail at that.
- 9:40I can't, I can't do it. Like I can do it for a couple
- 9:43days Max, maybe a week or two weeks at the most.
- 9:46Absolutely. If it's a game I really love and
- 9:48I'm really pushing for. But like other than that, man,
- 9:51you lose me because I'm going to want to try other things.
- 9:53I'm going to want to play other games that either come out or
- 9:55I'm going to want to go back to games that I want to finish or
- 9:59what, what have you. But like, that's kind of been
- 10:01the other reason I haven't run into Marathon or Arc Raiders
- 10:05that much, because I know that as soon as I load it up, I'm
- 10:07going to be put in a lobby where there's a minimum, a couple of
- 10:10people who have been not doing nothing but playing this game.
- 10:14And I'm going to get, I'm going to get killed by them.
- 10:17And yeah, I think, I think that is, I think that is the case.
- 10:19I think that it's unfortunate that Marathon is not as
- 10:23accessible because I don't think it's exceptionally hardcore.
- 10:25You don't have to focus on your food or eating 'cause you don't
- 10:28need to do those things 'cause you're not a human being.
- 10:31And you also like, it's just, it's, it's gunplay.
- 10:37It's, it's, it's that, it's that gunplay that Bungie is so good
- 10:42at. Yeah, like I want to play more
- 10:45dude. It's just been difficult to
- 10:47justify. And the other thing is, it's
- 10:48been. Difficult.
- 10:49Give me a 5V5. Just give me like they're
- 10:51supposedly supposedly. I.
- 10:53Supposedly it's coming. Out but that's but that's the
- 10:55thing right is that it shows that the initial concept of the
- 10:57game failed because you're having to develop a game mode
- 11:00that you like. In my opinion, right.
- 11:02This is kind of maybe maybe this is an odd tie in and I know that
- 11:05we're still in just the what have you played phase the
- 11:07episode. But like apex was great because
- 11:12it was a it was shadow dropped and it was a three person battle
- 11:15Royale, right? For free, for free.
- 11:18And then I think it was a year or a year and a half later, they
- 11:21introduced A3V3 mode and I arguably liked the three V3 mode
- 11:26more than I liked the. We had a lot more fun.
- 11:28I had way more fun in the 3V3 mode, and I feel like that's the
- 11:32exact same case I'd have with Marathon, 'cause I love the
- 11:34marathon gunplay and the combat and the weapons and the grenades
- 11:38in the world so much. But when you put me in a
- 11:40position where I basically have to play it and I could be doing
- 11:44a story mission that I'm really in depth in and I'm like caring
- 11:47about, they are. But like, let's just say I'm
- 11:51like the first time I played Outpost, the first time I played
- 11:54Outpost in that game, it was, it was a dream.
- 11:56I was bold disclosure, completely baked and I got into
- 12:01the lobby and I'm I'm immediately met with the the
- 12:06most like the most violent weather I've seen in the game so
- 12:10far. It's a complete thunderstorm.
- 12:12It's in its dark. So like the only things that are
- 12:15getting lit up in certain areas are only happening when the
- 12:18lightning strikes. So like, that's an immediate
- 12:20like real cool vibe and arena to be playing in, you know, and
- 12:26that's that's what Marathon has captured for me in a lot of
- 12:28ways. Is that like the the the feeling
- 12:31of what this is is there. Like, I love the futuristic
- 12:34setting. I love the multiple corporations
- 12:37vying for the same data back story and me being one of those
- 12:43operators, essentially those agents working on behalf of
- 12:46them. And it all works out great.
- 12:49But man, it would like you said it would have been so much
- 12:52better as a single player experience because that
- 12:54experience of me running in there can be immediately ruined
- 12:57because somebody who's either played way too much of it or
- 13:00just has had no time, like all the free time to just mainline
- 13:03this game is going to crush me. Or I'm going to be doing a story
- 13:06mission and being involved in that thinking I'm, I'm again,
- 13:10it's like, and I'm going to get jumped by somebody who's not
- 13:13like who's just camping in a corner and they're going to kill
- 13:15me and I guess. You're right out of the game.
- 13:18Maybe it sort of Harkins back to like the sort of weird way that
- 13:21the first Titanfall game did their story where you only could
- 13:24play it through multiplayer lobbies, so you just kind of got
- 13:27locked into whatever game, like whatever mission.
- 13:30Marathon full single player experience.
- 13:33Well, right, well, and that's and that's kind of what I'm
- 13:35thinking is like what if you guys had made a single player
- 13:38campaign with Marathon and then you had done like a secondary
- 13:41mode that was the extraction shooter?
- 13:42Because I think that honestly that probably.
- 13:44Was not a type game. That would have sold better for
- 13:46me because I would have been like, OK, I get the single
- 13:48player experience, which is great because it's a bungee
- 13:50title and it's fun and the gunplay is great.
- 13:53The story is the story in the world is already there.
- 13:56Yeah, you already have that stuff.
- 13:58So like, that's great. And then I have this cool
- 14:00extraction shooter mode that I can play when I'm bored or when
- 14:02I want to like jump into it and have.
- 14:03Harkening back to the maps I played on.
- 14:05Yeah, it it, it advances the story in some ways and it yeah,
- 14:09I go back to the maps I played in the in the single player, but
- 14:12like they went all in on that. And I think that's just like, I
- 14:17think trying to make as a, as a studio that's known for making
- 14:20like, I mean, they made Destiny. And I know how great Destiny is
- 14:23for a lot of people. I mean, yeah.
- 14:25It was still thriving, yeah. It is and and I think that
- 14:28Marathon is unfortunately not thriving because it is not as
- 14:31robust. It just isn't it.
- 14:33You have one game mode, you have one game mode on 4 maps and only
- 14:37three of those maps you can access every single day.
- 14:40Like the only the the 4th 1, the final one is, you know, a a
- 14:43periodic thing. So I don't know, but I like how
- 14:48this is just our our section of what have you been playing?
- 14:50And it's turned into a whole tangent.
- 14:53So what else have you played? Other than that, I got to be
- 14:57honest with you, man, looking at my whole library here trying to
- 15:04find a game, I finished Expedition 33.
- 15:08I guess that's, I guess that's, that's, that's a nice thing,
- 15:11right? I finished.
- 15:12That were you playing DS2 today? I was playing DS2 today.
- 15:16That was that was the game I was playing today.
- 15:18Oh, I guess actually no. So DS2, great.
- 15:20However, Kojima, you got to build melee combat controls,
- 15:24man. I don't know what the fuck you
- 15:26want me to do when I'm fighting the guys with the ghost blades
- 15:28because all I can fucking hit is circle and circle just hits.
- 15:32I have no option to block your left, your left trigger, your L2
- 15:36or L1, and then X to dodge. That doesn't make any sense.
- 15:39Why would I fall to the floor when I'm fighting guys with
- 15:42swords? That's like the dumbest thing.
- 15:44Sorry Kojima, I just had to say that, but.
- 15:46He deserves it. He deserves.
- 15:47He deserves. It we'll.
- 15:48Actually talk about Kojima later.
- 15:50So we should because that was that was not because of this,
- 15:54but that was a particularly rough section for me because it
- 15:56wasn't difficult when I played it on the PS-5 before.
- 16:00But I got my ass kicked today dude.
- 16:02I got killed like 3 times in that game and I know I'm playing
- 16:04on the hardest difficulty so it's like 2.
- 16:06Hits which I can't believe you're doing that, but I, I need
- 16:08you. I I really need you to beat the
- 16:11game. I know I'm trying to.
- 16:12I am. And that's why I was.
- 16:13That's what I was doing today. We could do our late.
- 16:16Review of the game here. That is my next game to finish
- 16:19because I, as I've said to you privately, and I'll say here on
- 16:22the show, not that it matters because you know, who cares
- 16:24about what I'm going to play or finish or not, but like, I'm not
- 16:27going to finish Crimson Desert. I'll just be completely honest
- 16:30here. It's way too it's way too much
- 16:33in scope, and it's not a complaint by any means.
- 16:36We got to get Noah here. Talk about.
- 16:37Crimson. No one knows way more.
- 16:39No one knows way more about Crimson Desert than I am.
- 16:41Well, and he. Came from.
- 16:42Screen box yes, Co host of it came from screen box.
- 16:47I'm just never going to finish that brains of that.
- 16:49Operation. DS2 is going to be the next game
- 16:52that I finish on here, so there's that.
- 16:56A big game that I've been playing this week that NOAA,
- 16:59Speaking of NOAA that he and I have both been getting back into
- 17:02is Kerbal Space Program. We've been very inspired by the
- 17:06launch of Artemis 2 last month, and we've been wanting to play
- 17:09more of that. So we've actually downloaded the
- 17:11original Kerbal Space Program and we've filled it with mods,
- 17:15both visual and parts related. Which is fun to watch on my end.
- 17:19Yeah, I know that you, like you and a lot of the other guys like
- 17:21watching us launch our rockets and going into like different
- 17:24places. I actually installed a bunch of
- 17:26mods where I have different star systems to go to, but not only
- 17:29are they different star systems, there are wormholes in the
- 17:32system that you start in. So you can go to those
- 17:34wormholes, fall in and then get transported to the other side.
- 17:39It is really cool. However, it's absolutely
- 17:41terrifying because there isn't AI don't know what it is, but
- 17:45like, you know what philosophobia is?
- 17:47It's the fear of like, open oceans, like like.
- 17:50Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, you're in the middle of the
- 17:51Pacific Ocean is just completely empty.
- 17:54You have that with like being in the middle of space.
- 17:56Yeah, I don't know what it is, because terrifying.
- 17:59It's nothingness, that's why. Well, it, it's terrifying, but
- 18:02it's like it's not real because I'm I'm sitting at my desk,
- 18:05right? I'm in a physical space, but
- 18:06like there and not that isn't, but you know what I'm saying?
- 18:10Well, like when I was playing the other day and I was playing
- 18:12Kerbal Space Program, I was actually letting a whole like
- 18:15space plane fall into a wormhole to go to one of those star
- 18:17systems. And I'm, but I did it in first
- 18:19person. So in first person I, it's, it's
- 18:24great because you look to your right and there's a Kerbal
- 18:26that's smiling like, yeah, this is fun.
- 18:28And it's like you're falling into this thing dying.
- 18:31But then the worst part for me was that I was sitting there in
- 18:33the first person view and all of a sudden I saw all of the space
- 18:37plane like parts glitching out and moving around.
- 18:40Like I could see the wings coming in front of the ship.
- 18:43Nope. And I was like, I'm not going
- 18:45into third person to see what's going on.
- 18:46And I'm just closing the game. It's like I'm done.
- 18:49Jesus Christ. But yeah, that's kind of what
- 18:51I've been playing. It's been a little bit of Arc,
- 18:53it's been a little bit of Death Stranding, KSP.
- 18:55I really, it's kind of been it. Honestly, I haven't, I have
- 18:59replaced. I need to start playing that.
- 19:01You should. It's phenomenal.
- 19:03I know I do. I'm.
- 19:04I'm excited to start that. But yeah, that's kind of been,
- 19:06that's been it for me. I've dipped my toe into some
- 19:09like Cyberpunk and Elder Ring in Crimson Desert, but it's been
- 19:12very brief. I haven't played too much.
- 19:15Got it. Yeah.
- 19:15What have you been playing, my man?
- 19:17Yeah, dude. Yeah.
- 19:20Do good conversations. I've been playing some raccoon.
- 19:23It's a nice little time waster. What'd you say?
- 19:25What are you laughing about? I just, I just looked at the
- 19:28timer and saw it was 20 minutes and I hated myself because I
- 19:30talked that long. Oh, dude, we only got 20 minutes
- 19:32left here. 25 minutes left. Let's hit it.
- 19:34I've been playing some rat coin. We got games to play, dude, we
- 19:39got a lot of games play to talk more on the show.
- 19:41We would simply we do. There's a ton here we have to
- 19:44discuss and review and talk about Mouse Pi for hire, having
- 19:47a blast of that. My review score, if I had to
- 19:51give it a it's gone up. So the further I've gotten in
- 19:57and the more of the game is open to me, it's gone up.
- 20:00Love it, having a blast. Can't wait for full color mode.
- 20:02I really want to play it in full.
- 20:04Color that'll be. Cool, I think the update came
- 20:07through if I'm not mistaken. So I'm going to be trying full
- 20:11color mode here soon. I've tried Crimson Desert a
- 20:15little bit more. I'd like it.
- 20:17I do find it a bit clunky. Some of the movement in the game
- 20:20is a bit odd to me, but I think the more I play, the more I
- 20:24learn, the more I grow within the game.
- 20:27I will love it. So there's that.
- 20:30I'm getting ready to play Pragmata.
- 20:33Yes, I'm very excited for Pragmata.
- 20:35Very excited for you to play that, yeah.
- 20:37That's yeah, I know, I know it's going to be because it looks
- 20:41like a game I would have played when I was 14.
- 20:44That's fair. It definitely does.
- 20:46It looks like a game I would have.
- 20:47So I would have played FEAR. Yeah, from FEAR.
- 20:51I probably would have went into a game like Dead Space.
- 20:55Yeah. No, that's fair.
- 20:56So like the bridge is being gapped right there and I've also
- 21:00played sandbox and. S Sandbox.
- 21:04S Sandbox the. Roblox Killer.
- 21:09Good. First off, good.
- 21:11If it's going to do anything, if it does that, good.
- 21:14Roblox for pedophiles. And I'm not taking that back.
- 21:17And if you're an adult playing, you know what?
- 21:20If you're, if you're an adult playing Roblox, let me look at
- 21:22the camera. You're a fucking weird bitch and
- 21:26a pedophile Probably. So anyways.
- 21:31White people are going what a Dick head you know.
- 21:34I just like playing Roblox. It's like, OK, you shouldn't,
- 21:38That's the point. That's what we're trying to tell
- 21:40you. You shouldn't like that.
- 21:41Play Minecraft. I we will not let land because
- 21:44like there's some people in my family not going to say names
- 21:47who let their kids play Roblox And and I, they're like, well,
- 21:52they could put Landon could play on our on their tablet.
- 21:54I'm like no he can't, he can't play Roblox.
- 21:56No like why? And I'm like cuz it's for
- 21:58pedophiles. So no you cannot play fucking
- 22:00Roblox. That's fair.
- 22:02You can play fucking the actual block game which is Minecraft.
- 22:05Yes, yeah, I agree you can. Play the real block game, which
- 22:09is. Minecraft I I agree with that,
- 22:10yeah. So but SN box is I'm calling a
- 22:14sandbox cuz it's sandbox. Don't fuck with my brain like
- 22:16that. It's cool.
- 22:18It is really cool to see people from what I have seen cuz I
- 22:22don't know what is truly being created yet.
- 22:26I have played a lot of cool games that people have like made
- 22:31sure sure it it still feels like Gary's mod.
- 22:33It feels more possibly like Roblox than Gary's mod.
- 22:37But yeah, sandbox is awesome. Nice dude.
- 22:42I'm glad we. Have to take a boss, do we?
- 22:43Have no hold on, I'm gonna yell my brother.
- 22:48Oh, just for the audience, he is getting reamed out.
- 22:52No, he was just asking where I was sleeping at night.
- 22:55Jack, shut up. I know he apologized.
- 22:58He said I'm sorry to he said, he said I'm sorry to everyone that
- 23:01listens to WASD and beyond and it came from screens and roll
- 23:05for deception. He he said that explicitly to
- 23:07me. Well.
- 23:08I got a ticket coming your way buddy.
- 23:10Damn, that's crazy. Yeah.
- 23:13Sandbox is cool dude. It's it's neat because the door
- 23:17is now open for people to learn and create their own games that
- 23:20can be sold on Steam eventually. That's that is where I may be
- 23:24believing you, but as of today, the current Steam review section
- 23:29is not it's. Mixed right?
- 23:31It is. It is mixed with 46% of the 1006
- 23:36hundred 681 user reviews in my language, which is English
- 23:39obviously positive. The most helpful review was see.
- 23:44This is why I can't believe it though.
- 23:46It is like like this is not like seem you need to.
- 23:51You need to rework how this this this works.
- 23:55It doesn't vet anybody. Anybody can do anything?
- 23:57The most helpful review in the past 24 hours was this one at
- 24:00the top. This is me clicking on it just
- 24:03now. Not recommended. 0.1 hours on
- 24:06record so like 15 minutes post posted yesterday the seconds I
- 24:13finished installing it and launched the game I see my
- 24:15stupid sausage character all naked.
- 24:17So I went to go customize and I so happened to open the shop and
- 24:20the for the love of God why does it $20 game have paid character
- 24:24customization and what world doesn't the successor to Gary's
- 24:27mod have any microtransactions in game?
- 24:29This hot steaming pile of shit will die within the year.
- 24:33The second one is read the S and box EULA which is portions of
- 24:40it. It says it contains A mandatory
- 24:42arbitration agreement and class action waiver for US based
- 24:45users. OK so that's an interesting
- 24:47thing. I have not accepted the EULA and
- 24:50I will not until when slash if that is changed permanently.
- 24:54Mandatory arbitration has been nothing but a legal excuse for
- 24:56shady practices to get swept under the rug rather than
- 24:59brought directly to a courtroom, and I do not intend to fall
- 25:01victim to it like so many others have with other companies.
- 25:05A lot of other negative reviews like this one today came from
- 25:07someone who had about 30 minutes on record.
- 25:11Product was refunded. The double down on AI plus the
- 25:14terrible performance made me refund the scheme.
- 25:17Really big disappointment because I was such a big fan of
- 25:19G mod drawing up. Please consider your next move
- 25:21Face Punch and maybe I'll repurchase it.
- 25:22That is what I've seen is that in relation to AI generated
- 25:26content and tools, the developers have basically
- 25:28doubled down saying that that they're going to still allow
- 25:31that, which I think is a terrible thing.
- 25:33I think because at the end of the day, come on, at the end of
- 25:36the day, Gary's mad as successful because of what the
- 25:39players, the humans, the people have created.
- 25:42Like I'll be the old guy. Dark RP is great not because an
- 25:46AI created ARP version of the community, but people did.
- 25:50People thought, OK, you should be able to be a drug dealer and
- 25:53a gun dealer and a cop and a hobo and you should be able to
- 25:56buy your own property and make money printers and you should be
- 25:59able to do these things. And like it got even crazier.
- 26:01Like that's people who created that.
- 26:03Whole things off the source. Murder.
- 26:05Murder is just fucking like any other like whodunit game, but
- 26:11it's in it's in G mod like it, but it's not.
- 26:13You didn't need an AI to create that and I think that.
- 26:16That's a bummer, I didn't see any of that today.
- 26:19Maybe it speaks to a wider problem because like, AI is not
- 26:26something special. It is at the end of the day, it
- 26:28is just what we as humans collectively have gathered as
- 26:31knowledge. It does not.
- 26:33It does not tell you things that it suddenly created on its own.
- 26:38It tells you things that other humans have discovered.
- 26:40And we have fed it it. We have fed it our information.
- 26:43I don't like AII. Really.
- 26:45I really do not like AI. No.
- 26:46And I and I and. It's telling people to kill,
- 26:48kill themselves now. Oh, it's, it's well, because
- 26:50there are, there are certain people there, there's certain
- 26:53people who definitely get like brainwash is not the right term,
- 26:57but like there are people who, who have conversations with AI
- 27:00as if it's a real person. And it's it's because it's a.
- 27:02Computer mental health. This a different show.
- 27:05It's a different show, but like we're not talking about that.
- 27:07But at the end of the day, related to sandbox stuff, I
- 27:10don't want to play a game. Like there's a screenshot on the
- 27:14page. There's a screenshot.
- 27:15The last screenshot on the Steam page is something that has
- 27:17objectives in the top left. You're holding a crowbar and
- 27:20there's like this weird like horror painting on the wall with
- 27:23a bunch of candles underneath it.
- 27:24It has a sort of like retro style design and like I would
- 27:28love to play sandbox if it meant that I could play like a single
- 27:31player game was like that or dark RP or trouble and
- 27:33terrorists and a murderer again with like an updated UI, graphic
- 27:36Source 2, all this sort of stuff.
- 27:39But instead it doesn't feel that way.
- 27:41It feels like this is just less than that.
- 27:44It feels like. It's damn dude, So what I
- 27:47played. Sure was.
- 27:50You played Vampire Survivors boat for $30?
- 27:53Yes and had a blast doing it and I played some other little mini
- 27:57game type things here. All this really bums me out and
- 28:02I really hope Gary and the team. I thought I'd talk as if I know
- 28:06if I do not though I will. I'm going to be the old guy.
- 28:09I do have the coveted Steam achievement for playing in AG
- 28:13mod server with Gary. That's cool.
- 28:16Yes, yeah, that's how old I am. So it's that's.
- 28:21How old I am? Yeah, it's, it's a bummer
- 28:24because I remember when Gary's Bond first came out and I
- 28:27remember the day released and I Remember Me and Ed were at my
- 28:30house and there was this thing that just popped up and Ed was
- 28:33like going to play Gary's mod, going to buy it.
- 28:37And I went, can I buy it? He goes, oh, yeah.
- 28:39And I stood, I sat home when I was a computer and I bought
- 28:41Gary's Bond. We just.
- 28:43I told you the story. Yeah, I remember we would we
- 28:46would hijack servers and do bad things and spawn a lot of
- 28:52barrels. You.
- 28:53Do bad GM. Construct and yeah, So what the
- 28:58I I would love to see face punch really take a stand somewhere
- 29:03here and go hey, yeah, we're not going to allow this or you can
- 29:07filter those out. Let us filter.
- 29:10All. The AI shit out.
- 29:11At the very least. If, if people are going to do AI
- 29:14shit, which they will inevitably, they will fine let
- 29:18us filter those games out because I'd rather support
- 29:20creators because they can make real money.
- 29:23Real games can be made from this because it's on Source 2A branch
- 29:27of Source 2 of sorts. And I would really like to see
- 29:31what can be done. I it's interesting to me because
- 29:34I want Face Punch to succeed. Because they've given the world
- 29:38Gary's mod. It's fucking Gary's mod.
- 29:41If you're APC gamer, you know. If you're a gamer, you know what
- 29:45Gary's mod is. You see that video?
- 29:47People love scubity toilet. That's from Gary's mod.
- 29:49That's from Gary's mod unfortunately, and no one likes
- 29:51that. So yeah, well, I just had to
- 29:53bring it up, so I'm sorry. It's it's OK, you know, but
- 29:58that's what I've been playing. It's a segue.
- 30:01We're already here. Talk about it.
- 30:03Let me get my let me get my crap out of the way.
- 30:04How's that sound? And then we can go to the fun
- 30:06stuff. Sure.
- 30:07Yeah, why not? There is a report going out
- 30:11right now about a old e-mail chain from Gabe Newell and Elon,
- 30:16Elon Musk. It's making pretty big head
- 30:20waves right now. The thing that's not being
- 30:23reported, it's being not underlined, is this is from
- 30:272018. This is not recent.
- 30:31People are like, well, look what Gabe was doing with Open AI.
- 30:34Yes, when it was a nonprofit. Yeah.
- 30:39This was not when open AI was what it is today.
- 30:42None of what this is. This is what people are trying
- 30:45to speculate. Like we'll see Gabe Newell and
- 30:47Valve is all a part of Tesla and this isn't that and Hideo
- 30:52Kojima, because basically what it boils down to was Gabe was
- 30:55like, hey Kojima, you think you could?
- 30:58Or hey, Elon. Could you get my friend Kojima?
- 31:02Or Kojima into space and a Taurus SpaceX.
- 31:05Yeah, that's all that was, and it was work.
- 31:09Yeah, Kojima went to SpaceX. Oh, did he go to?
- 31:12Whatever he wanted to go see. If back in 2018, though, if you
- 31:16wanted to see shit for space, who did you go to?
- 31:20You went to Elon Musk? Yeah, because he wasn't totally
- 31:23where he is nowadays. He wasn't completely crazy.
- 31:26I mean, he he had the showings of someone who was like
- 31:29beginning to lose their grip on reality.
- 31:31He was like, we wait, we would make the joke.
- 31:33He's entering his dark, Tony Stark alcoholic face.
- 31:37Yeah, his his drunk Tony Stark face, but like, it turned into
- 31:40way, way more than that because. Yeah, now he's just gone.
- 31:43We fuck him. He's actually just a piece of
- 31:44shit. But like, I mean, I don't like I
- 31:48I made a joke to Nick this morning.
- 31:49I sent him that and I was like, get your boy and I, I was like
- 31:51referencing Gabe Newell, but it's like I did.
- 31:53Though you're like, this is a whole nothing burger.
- 31:55No, it doesn't mean. It doesn't mean anything.
- 31:57It's like it's like, So what? Like, yeah.
- 31:59He asked this. Like, at the end of the day, the
- 32:01world has changed. It.
- 32:02That was 2019. It is 2018.
- 32:05Yeah. 2018. Yeah.
- 32:06OK. So we're eight years away from
- 32:08that like or. It's pre COVID.
- 32:11Like yeah it's pre COVID. It's fucking like.
- 32:15AI is like a twinkle in. Everyone's eye, but you know
- 32:18what I mean. Further away from that, but.
- 32:19If you think about that, it's a twinkle in people's eye.
- 32:22Dude, it's a completely different world.
- 32:24I mean, there was a like at the end of the day, 2020 was a reset
- 32:27point for a lot of people. It was a complete, total
- 32:30paradigm shift into what the world could turn into if you if
- 32:34you didn't pay attention like and honestly, not to, not to.
- 32:38We didn't pay attention. Apparently not.
- 32:40Again, not making it into a different show here, but like,
- 32:42the world hasn't gotten better since then.
- 32:44It has gas. Is $5.
- 32:46Gas is 5 fucking dollars. I know it's a video game
- 32:48podcast, but yeah. But holy fuck man, it's $5.00
- 32:52but like you're. Breaking my fucking balls dude.
- 32:55But like. I hate that orange son of a
- 32:57bitch man. It's I hate it, man.
- 33:00That's an Ovo thing. But yes, I I, I.
- 33:02Bringing that back. No, because Birdie wants to let
- 33:06it die. Birdie wants to let it die.
- 33:07Because Brody is. Really fun.
- 33:09I will call Birdie up. Brody doesn't listen to this.
- 33:11He's not going to listen this far in his 30.
- 33:12He listened. Amber listens to each episode.
- 33:14OK, well, OK. Well, OK.
- 33:16Well, now I'm in trouble. Amber.
- 33:17I'm sorry. Amber.
- 33:19You know what? You can tell Birdie I said this.
- 33:20He'll hit me. Whether in person or over the
- 33:23phone or over Discord. He'll hit me.
- 33:25And that's fine. I deserve it.
- 33:27But at the same time, come on, Brody.
- 33:29Like let's get this. Yeah, come on, let's have fun
- 33:32again. Like, come on, this this show is
- 33:34great. Screen box is great.
- 33:36Roll for Deception is great. But OBO has to come.
- 33:38Back We need a show where we can just bitch for an hour and put
- 33:42it out to the world and people can listen to us bitch because
- 33:44that's. Let's just do it.
- 33:46People love to hear a bunch of grown men bitch, right?
- 33:48I mean, that's basically the show. 100 views of episode. 500
- 33:51views of the episode. But dictate they did.
- 33:54Is that fucked up? That show had no preparation.
- 33:59It would just, it had no sauce. It had no sauce, it had no
- 34:03sauce. It was just, it was just a bunch
- 34:05of fucking assholes talking and drinking and man, it, it was
- 34:09great. Could you guys please listen to
- 34:11my video game show I've been working?
- 34:13OK please can you stop saying it like that?
- 34:15You sound like crying. OK anyways, please listen to my
- 34:20video game show. Please no.
- 34:24It's just a nothing burger dude. It's just like who cares?
- 34:27Who cares? But that leads me to go into.
- 34:30Talk about the controller. The controller is releasing so
- 34:33it releases this Monday 100 bucks.
- 34:37I I'm excited for this. I think it's good.
- 34:39It's it's going to be fun. I'm excited to see if it
- 34:41replaces my Xbox controller. I'm unsure because I'm not going
- 34:45to be using the gyro. I'm not going to be using the
- 34:47touch pads, things like that, but I am interested to see
- 34:51because I've heard how nice it does feel for as clunky as it
- 34:54looks, I've heard it feels great and I've heard it's, you know,
- 34:59no stick drift and they're like that.
- 35:01So I'm excited. I mean, you know, and it feels
- 35:04great. So I'm excited to see exactly
- 35:09how I like it because I'm going to buy it.
- 35:11I'm a shill for Valve, but also I like new technology.
- 35:14I like to, I like to play with these new things.
- 35:17Like I got the Steam Controller up there, the the OG, like I'm
- 35:21excited to have this and play with it and see if it replaces
- 35:24my Xbox controller. But I'm not going to be afraid
- 35:27to say if it sucks, like if it sucks, it sucks.
- 35:30That just is what it is. I'm the precipice of that
- 35:33though. What I want to say is this, I
- 35:36told you guys last week it was going to happen and now I'm
- 35:39saying the two weeks ain't up. We're going to get more next
- 35:45week. Yeah.
- 35:48I'm telling you, I say we're getting more Valve stuff next
- 35:51week. OK, That's that's my prediction
- 35:54on that. All right, I, I will, I will
- 35:56take your prediction. I will believe it and we will
- 35:58see what happens. I think it's gonna just.
- 36:00Not from now on, like Homelander.
- 36:03I think it will be just it all depends on if they can nail on
- 36:07the prices on these things that they want people to buy for
- 36:09them. I.
- 36:09Mean they so. That's what it all.
- 36:12About a bit of breaking news that we do have for the Steam
- 36:15Machine is there is confirmation, and because I
- 36:19don't know how these guys are pulling this information, but
- 36:21it's everywhere. There's confirmation that Valve
- 36:26is getting large shipments right now of game consoles to their
- 36:31warehouses. So that's promising.
- 36:35That's very promising that hey, the the Steam Machines are here,
- 36:39they're at the warehouses. Imminent.
- 36:42Everything's imminent. I'm I'm confused what the delay
- 36:46is on the frame. It could be any number of
- 36:51things. Probably RAM.
- 36:52I know, I know it's a stand alone device but like I I'm
- 36:57confused what the delay is here so that's cool.
- 37:03Also, cash is back in Commerce strike.
- 37:07Yes, we haven't played it in a long while.
- 37:09I played it a couple weeks ago when I got my new mouse, but I
- 37:12would like to play cash again with you guys.
- 37:13I think it'd be really fun. Also I have $130.00 in steam
- 37:16that I could use on cases so. Beautiful.
- 37:19Also, the Counter Strike devs are being kind of funny right
- 37:22now. Really.
- 37:24Go on Twitter and look up Gabe Follower and look what they're
- 37:27doing. It's pretty funny.
- 37:29So if you go in cash right now, you could see 33 electrical
- 37:35boxes, one and two are completed.
- 37:38The third one's broken. They updated the map and there's
- 37:41four electrical boxes, 1-2 and four are completed and the third
- 37:47is being worked on. Everyone said they're going,
- 37:50what are you doing? Because this isn't like somebody
- 37:53ran, it's this Valve going. And it's like, why?
- 37:58It's like what Peter Griffin said.
- 38:00It's so intense that it skips over 3, so it's just going to be
- 38:03like you're just, you're not going to get Half Life 3, Nick,
- 38:06you're never going to get Half Life 3.
- 38:07It's just going to be Half Life 4.
- 38:08That's. Fine, honestly, it'd be pretty
- 38:11funny. It would be pretty, it would be
- 38:13pretty funny if they just went Half Life 2 episode 1, Half Life
- 38:162, Episode 2, Half Life 4. It's like, what happened to
- 38:19three? It's like, what are you talking
- 38:21about? What if there is No 3?
- 38:23There is no three, idiot. It's four like it's the next
- 38:26one. Four is a core number.
- 38:28Here's the thing I mean we'll see what happens.
- 38:33I'm excited for I'm excited for a lot of games for the rest of
- 38:36the year. I think we're at that.
- 38:37We're at a point right now it's it's the end of April.
- 38:40It's about to be May and May's going to kick off with like
- 38:43May's just going to have a lot of games in it.
- 38:45There's a lot of games coming out in May.
- 38:47Sorrows came out today for those who are interested for the PS-5
- 38:50exclusive. I'm very interested in it, but
- 38:52I'm also going to hold out hope and hope that it comes to PC.
- 38:56Very my my most anticipated game this month is for for May is
- 39:00easily double O 7. I am fucking pumped for.
- 39:04Double O Seven I, I am. I have never been this excited.
- 39:07I don't think I've ever been this excited for a Bond movie
- 39:10like I am excited to well. You get to play as Bond bro.
- 39:13But I mean, I get to like, it's IO Interactive, like I'm gonna
- 39:16be getting the full experience of Bond.
- 39:18It's not just like I played James Bond games.
- 39:21I played that one really shitty Daniel Craig James Bond game
- 39:23that came up for the Xbox 360 a long time ago.
- 39:25Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was like double O 7
- 39:27blood money or blood something or whatever.
- 39:30Blood Money's a hitman. Game Blood Money's a Hitman
- 39:32game, but this is something else I think.
- 39:33I can't remember. Somebody else will know, but
- 39:35like this has been described by the people who have been able to
- 39:39play it early as a definitive bond game.
- 39:42Like like if not the best bond. Game, Oh my God.
- 39:45Which is. Crazy.
- 39:46Since Goldeneye, probably. Since Goldeneye, Exactly.
- 39:49And it's like. Phenomenal.
- 39:50If that turns out to be the case, I'm more than excited.
- 39:54Like I know my dad's going to want to play it.
- 39:55It's like, dude, it's James Bond.
- 39:57It's like fucking Bond, bro, Yeah.
- 39:59You get to do all the cool shit, you get the gadgets, you get all
- 40:02that stuff. Yeah, what?
- 40:03James Bond movie marathon. I would be down for that.
- 40:06I've already done that myself. I've watched all.
- 40:09How many did he do, 3 or 4? Daniel Craig he did.
- 40:13I want to start before Daniel. He did 4.
- 40:16He did 4 Pierce Bronson is my bond.
- 40:18That's your bond. My bond.
- 40:20My bond, if anything, was probably.
- 40:22Roger Pierce Bronson. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, right.
- 40:25That would have been in the 90s, yeah.
- 40:27But that but Pierce was Bond, right?
- 40:29Pierce was Bond. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:32I was. I did not watch the Pierce
- 40:35Brosnan bond. I was.
- 40:37Never. I have, but when I was growing
- 40:41up, I was not put on to those. I was put on to the Roger Moore
- 40:46bonds. So like Doctor?
- 40:48No, No. No, Doctor, No was Sean Connery.
- 40:51That's Sean Connery. I'm looking him up right now.
- 40:53That was like, I don't know if he did Moonraker.
- 40:57I think he was the Moonraker bond.
- 41:00Roger Moore is Moonraker Bond. Yes.
- 41:02Yes, that was one of the prominent ones I saw.
- 41:05There was another one with him. In it, Sean Connery is such a
- 41:07better bond though. Sean Conner is a great bond.
- 41:10Did did so did it go from Roger Moore?
- 41:17Because Octopussy is Roger Moore.
- 41:19I know that. So did it go from fucking Sean
- 41:21Connery back to fucking to Roger Moore back to Sean Connery?
- 41:26It was, it was Sean Connery. There was a small purse, not
- 41:30small person, but there was a small role or a small.
- 41:33That's not my message. Sorry.
- 41:34Jesus, that's terrible. There was like a very small Bond
- 41:38movie that was made with a different guy.
- 41:40I think his name started, I think his first name was George.
- 41:43I can't remember his last name. He's a British guy.
- 41:45Obviously there was like a couple movies with him, but they
- 41:48were very like, again, small movies.
- 41:50George Lazenby. George Lazenby.
- 41:52Her Majesty's Secret Service. I'm going to get flamed because
- 41:55that's probably a great movie to a lot of people, and I've never.
- 41:57Seen a song Apologize 6.7 out of 1081 on Rotten OK.
- 42:03Like Moonraker was great. There was a lot of Rodger Moore
- 42:05movies that I saw with Bond. I didn't see.
- 42:08I didn't see as a younger as a younger kid.
- 42:10I didn't see any of the Pierce Brosnan ones, but I did see them
- 42:13as I. Got or shame?
- 42:15Daniel Craig is my because I think the first Daniel, I think
- 42:18the first Daniel Craig Bond was like 2008.
- 42:20So like, that would have been right around when I was growing
- 42:23up. 2006 Casino Royale, yeah. Yeah, so that's my bond.
- 42:27He's my. Bond, because Pierce's was died
- 42:29another day. That's the last one.
- 42:31And when was that? 2002.
- 42:35OK so I was 2 years old for. That they waited no time at all
- 42:38for that. No, and Daniel Craig was not
- 42:40relatively known when when he did Casino Royale and and Casino
- 42:43Royale is Casino Royale is arguably other than well, no,
- 42:47not arguably Skyfall is the best, but like other than
- 42:50Skyfall, I would say that it's for Daniel Craig Bond.
- 42:54It's like, Oh my God, no, he's been in five.
- 42:58Holy shit, it's. Casino Royale, Quantum, Quantum
- 43:01of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, No Time to Die.
- 43:03It's for me. My ranking is number 1 is
- 43:06Skyfall, 2 is Casino Royale, 3 is 3 is no time to die, 4 is
- 43:14Spectre 5 is Quantum of Solace. Actually switch those two.
- 43:18Quantum of Solace is for five. God, dude, he was.
- 43:21They're, they're all he's. For 19 years.
- 43:24He's a he was a great bond. And if you haven't seen No Time
- 43:26to Die, you're you're missing out.
- 43:29No Time to Die was great. Pierce Brosnan was Bond.
- 43:33I love that. I love that this was like Gaming
- 43:35Show and we talked about the Double O 7 game and now we're
- 43:37talking about just Bond in general.
- 43:39OK OK back to that game looks fucking sick and I cannot wait
- 43:43to play Bond. It's going to be probably one of
- 43:47my one of my top contenders for game of the year.
- 43:50I genuinely believe that. And also this is a slight update
- 43:53because we only have recorded these a couple of times or
- 43:57talked about them a couple of times.
- 44:00That is on my Fantasy critic. You're such a bitch dude.
- 44:04Actually, no, it's not. I'm kidding.
- 44:06I lied to you. It's.
- 44:07Whose is it on? It is on.
- 44:10I'm struggling. It's on fucking Morgan's.
- 44:12It's. Worthless.
- 44:13Oh my God, Morgan, you don't even care.
- 44:16He's not anyways. He doesn't even understand it,
- 44:18he says all the time. You you just played to play
- 44:21anyways, it's. Just fantasy critic, yeah.
- 44:29How did I get? How the fuck did replace go
- 44:31down? Oh, he's passed. 77.
- 44:37So we're checking This is a This is a wild podcast.
- 44:40We're checking our fantasy critics scores.
- 44:42Right now. I am leading with 84 points.
- 44:47Yeah, you fucking probably won. Well, well, the years.
- 44:50On my my projected points is 1st 122.
- 44:55Yeah, well, I still have Wolverine anyways.
- 44:57Anyways, we'll get back to that. We have a whole update episode
- 45:00coming for soon. Resident Evil.
- 45:04The trailer. Oh man.
- 45:07Zach Krieger, you motherfucker. That.
- 45:09Big fat son of a bitch in the fucking sewer.
- 45:11Let's go there, Bubba. Baron Harkin.
- 45:15Here's the thing. It's Pearl's brother from Blade
- 45:17bro. It is.
- 45:18Here's the thing. Loved my favorite scene in the
- 45:22trailer. He opens the shotgun, sees that
- 45:25it's empty, and I was like, yeah, motherfucker, you're
- 45:27looking for shells just like me. And then he opened up and then
- 45:31he opened up two drawers and they were fucking empty.
- 45:35And I was like, yes, I was like, yeah, pisses you off, doesn't
- 45:39it? I hope he.
- 45:39Felt vindicated. Dude, I hope, I hope that at
- 45:44some point in the movie he just goes like, Oh my God, why is
- 45:46there? Why is nothing where it should
- 45:48be? And I'm like, yeah, that's
- 45:50exactly what it is, man. That's your fucking life when
- 45:53you play these games. It made me it's watching that
- 45:55trailer made me want to play Resin.
- 45:57Evil it looks. It looks huge.
- 46:02He's he's getting it. He's getting it right.
- 46:04My brother actually brought up that point.
- 46:07He brought up because because this is supposed to, from what I
- 46:09understand, take place during Resident Evil 2 and.
- 46:13Yeah, Yep. But here's the thing, if you
- 46:16play Resident Evil 2, the remake, and I'm pretty sure if
- 46:18you played the original Resident Evil 2, it's not snowing.
- 46:22So the suspect, the suspicion is that that's ash, that's nuclear
- 46:29fallout that he's walking through.
- 46:32So it's. At the end.
- 46:33It would be at the end of RE2. It would be after the bomb is.
- 46:36Exploded. But the weird thing is those
- 46:38zombies, the infected up top, when they fall, they just
- 46:41shatter like they're frozen. So that's that's and that's the
- 46:46interesting thing is that we really don't know anything
- 46:48about. It.
- 46:49But we really don't know anything about it other than
- 46:52what the trailer has shown. Because that's the thing, right?
- 46:55It's not like I'm sorry, but I. The cop car emblem, they didn't
- 46:59even do that, so we don't even know.
- 47:01Yeah, they didn't and we and at the end of the day, we don't
- 47:04know again, we don't know where this is taking place
- 47:07necessarily. We don't know what's going on
- 47:09because that's the thing I I find it hard to believe the
- 47:13nuclear winter and like the nuclear fallout theory of that's
- 47:15why it's like snow on the ground, because you're telling
- 47:19me that this guy is searching for his girlfriend, but he
- 47:21doesn't know that a nuke has gone off Like that's pretty.
- 47:24Obvious and. He's also not wearing a mask
- 47:26like, but it's obvious, right? Like that's an obvious thing.
- 47:28You would know that if you're if you're within the range of where
- 47:32fallout is falling onto your feet, you know that a nuke.
- 47:36Has we are already dead. You're already dead.
- 47:39That's true. But like, that's The thing is
- 47:41that this also looks very remote, like the farmhouse that
- 47:45he runs to, but like he clearly gets there from a city or he
- 47:50goes from there to a city because he gets into a sewer
- 47:54somehow, which is also very Resident Evil.
- 47:58I guess that's what I loved about it the most.
- 48:00I loved, I loved, I loved the big fat motherfucker.
- 48:02In the sewer. I loved the, I loved the green
- 48:05herb in the background that you could spot.
- 48:07I loved the like I said, I loved him opening up the shotgun and
- 48:11saying it was empty. And like, that was again, my
- 48:14favorite moment of the trailer. I was like, I know I'm in for a
- 48:16Resident Evil experience. Because that's the best part
- 48:19about those games is that you're given a simple task.
- 48:22Find the fuse, find the shells. And in doing so, you come across
- 48:27the most terrifying things you've ever seen.
- 48:30Like, oh. My God, that's what makes it so
- 48:32interesting. I know that he's this guy, which
- 48:35by the way, huge shout out, This is the actor who plays that
- 48:40protagonist that we're going to be following.
- 48:41I think his name is Austin Abrams.
- 48:43Who was he was the druggie guy? He was the druggie from Weapons
- 48:47who is also which was also directed by Zach Rager.
- 48:50So he must have crushed it on set because he was great in the
- 48:52movie. He was great in the movie and I
- 48:54heard that he was very good on he like he was just a great
- 48:56person to work with. But either way, I know for a
- 49:03fact that he's going to he's going to in some way, he's going
- 49:07to find that shotgun. He's going to be looking for
- 49:09shells or he's going to be looking for some other very
- 49:12menial, simple item. And in doing so, he is going to
- 49:17come across whatever that creature was with the multiple
- 49:20feet and hands or feet and leg like feet, hands, legs,
- 49:23whatever. Like it's like he's going to
- 49:26come across that creature and that is what makes those games
- 49:29so scary. And, and RE2, right?
- 49:32That's what it is. It's it's go to this station to
- 49:35turn this valve on. And in doing so, you meet Mr. X.
- 49:39It is, it is a simple task that you're given.
- 49:42And in doing that, you meet one of the most persistent enemies.
- 49:48God, I just hope we meet somebody.
- 49:50Gaming. I don't.
- 49:51I don't want to. I don't want.
- 49:52You don't want. See Chris.
- 49:53Or I don't want to see no, because then you put it in my
- 49:56head that that's who that's supposed to be.
- 49:57And then if you make it. No, no not.
- 50:00It's not the main character I'm hoping well.
- 50:03No, I don't want. I want.
- 50:04I want this to be. I want this to be.
- 50:07It's own contained story. Yes because because that's what
- 50:10makes RE so great. RE one is RE1RE2 is Leon and
- 50:15Claire right? RE 3 is Jill, RE4IS Leon again,
- 50:19RE-5 is Chris and Shava. RE6 is the reason it's the worst
- 50:23is because you combine 3 fucking stories into one.
- 50:26RE 7 is Ethan winners, RE 8 is Ethan winners.
- 50:31RE-9 is Leon and Grace and it's like.
- 50:34OK, that. Makes sense.
- 50:35And but that also works because they intertwine in a perfect way
- 50:38because it's like they made it all about that dichotomy of
- 50:41horror and action. But like, well, this is a video.
- 50:44Game movie done right then because you could.
- 50:46That's what I'm saying. Take the source material and go,
- 50:49well, I'm going to tell my own story with it because I can.
- 50:51But that's the thing. That's like Fallout works.
- 50:53RE2, RE2 is so great because it is both.
- 50:57It is both the horror and the puzzle solving and the action at
- 51:01the end of it. And I think that's what this, I
- 51:03think that's what this is going to capture.
- 51:05I think it's going to go more for the tone of RE2, but it's
- 51:09going to feel like a more modern take on Resident Evil.
- 51:14Not, not even modern's not the right word, but it's, it's, it's
- 51:19going to feel like a true tribute to Resident Evil.
- 51:23I think because the true Resident Evil fans like myself,
- 51:26yourself and, and all the others that listen to us and the people
- 51:29that play these games, they're going to pick up on the things
- 51:32that are Resident Evil. Resident Evil is looking for the
- 51:35green herbs, looking for the red herbs.
- 51:37Resident Evil is getting a gun, finding that it has no ammo, and
- 51:41then searching every drawer and cabinet and fucking safe in your
- 51:45immediate vicinity and finding fucking nothing except for a
- 51:47lock pick that you don't even know how to use.
- 51:49Like that is what Resident Evil is.
- 51:52I guarantee you he's going to, I guarantee you he's going to find
- 51:55a fucking item that he doesn't know how to use.
- 51:57And then later on in the movie, he's going to figure it out
- 51:59because of some other piece that he connects to it.
- 52:02Because that's exactly what Resident Evil is.
- 52:04And that's what Zack Krager himself has said that he wants
- 52:07to be. Because for US fans of the
- 52:09games, we're going to recognize that stuff.
- 52:12But for my mom who doesn't play any of them or my dad who
- 52:15doesn't play any of them or my sister who doesn't play any of
- 52:17them or Jack who doesn't play any of them, they're not going
- 52:21to understand that that is a game moment for me.
- 52:23For them, that is the most important thing in the story
- 52:26right now is finding those shells.
- 52:28But for me, it's like, I know that mother fucker is going to
- 52:31find those shells. I know it's.
- 52:33A matter of when. It's a matter of when and what
- 52:35he's dealing with when he finds. When he's fine because, you
- 52:38know, in theaters when we go see it, because we are we, we are.
- 52:41We are going to go see this together.
- 52:42God, we have a group for. Backgrounds Evil Back is going
- 52:46for that. I didn't tell you, but he's
- 52:48tagging along. He wants to see.
- 52:50It I love I love Jack, but I love Jack.
- 52:53So we got back rooms. Evil Dead.
- 52:56Yep, Dune and Resident Evil and if we all want to, Doomsday
- 53:04Avengers. We won't do it only because RDJ
- 53:07is dot. Doctor, we'll do it because RDJ
- 53:10is Doctor Doom and we know that we're getting Chris Evans.
- 53:14Yeah, like yeah, we might as. Well, but like so no resident
- 53:18Resident Evil though, man, we you know, I stopped our work day
- 53:23because I I'm based right now. It's just me, you know, and two
- 53:28other people in the office. So I was like, yeah, our Co
- 53:32worker Ali was like the Resident Evil trailer is out and I went
- 53:36what the fuck you talking? It's supposed to come out next
- 53:38week. He goes, it's not right now.
- 53:39Sony just posted it. I went stop.
- 53:42Discussing posted it, put it on. I said, everyone, stop what
- 53:45you're doing. And we put it on the TV at work
- 53:47and we all just went, whoa. We went whoa, dude, because we
- 53:52work next for transparency. We were we work next to a firm
- 53:57and that TV was not quiet. Oh no.
- 54:02And we and so they're on the other side.
- 54:05They're probably hearing, yeah, just hearing all this gross
- 54:08shit, but we're sitting there going it's Resident Evil, yeah.
- 54:12Yeah, it was great. It was a great trailer.
- 54:14I loved the I loved the whole thing.
- 54:16I especially love the the title card showing up as he moved back
- 54:19and forth between Oh my. God, it's so good.
- 54:23This is AI can't, I don't want to talk about this more because
- 54:26we need to wrap it up, but like. Yes.
- 54:29As a movie nerd, Zach Crager has a very instantly identifiable
- 54:35style. It's and it's.
- 54:37Yes, it's those types of shots where he has.
- 54:40He needs to make an Evil Dead film.
- 54:41Too he he has, he has this primary character moving around
- 54:45in the foreground that you're mostly focused on as all these
- 54:47things are happening behind that are so important to the rest of
- 54:50the story. And in this instance, he's using
- 54:54just the title cards from the director of Weapons Barbarian,
- 54:58but it's all, it's all timed right.
- 55:01It's all timed with the audio of the ringing to when he's hitting
- 55:04the he's hitting his head on the phone to when he's syncing down
- 55:07to the ground. Like it all works together in a
- 55:09very almost musical like rhythmic way.
- 55:14And weapons is very much like that.
- 55:16Also, Weapons and Barbarian and Resident Evil all have the same
- 55:21shot of a open dark door, so that's also a very identifiable
- 55:26thing. As soon as I saw the open door
- 55:28from the protagonist's perspective in Resident Evil, I
- 55:31was like, it's Zach Rager. It's like, it's like it says it
- 55:35way earlier on the trailer, But when then you see that shot of
- 55:38the dark door and then the hands coming out of it, it's like,
- 55:40yeah, that's Zach doing what he does like.
- 55:45So good and. That's great.
- 55:46So good. I'm I'm very excited for it.
- 55:48We got to wrap this. Up we're wrapping it up next
- 55:50week I, I feel like we'll have more news on the DRM situation
- 55:54for Sony. We were going to talk about it
- 55:56today, but there's just simply too much to talk about.
- 55:59There's there's a good amount and I we want to tackle this
- 56:02with. AI can wrap it up quick if you
- 56:06want to. I can I can explain it really
- 56:10fast. Yeah, let's go.
- 56:12Let's hit that before we sign off.
- 56:13We can, we can, we can hit this really quick, but basically
- 56:16there was a bit of news this week about how Sony had
- 56:18implemented a new DRM where people were wrongfully so people
- 56:23were reporting that you would lose your game after 30 days if
- 56:26you were offline, which is not entirely how this works.
- 56:28I have a very handy diagram as to how it does.
- 56:32Basically, before March 2026, you had a permanent license as
- 56:35soon as you bought a game. It doesn't matter like like you
- 56:38just have a permanent license. But what people were doing was
- 56:42they would have a permanent license with the game.
- 56:44They would go offline and refund it.
- 56:45They would get their money back and then continue to be able to
- 56:48play it because Sony's digital store would not check in to
- 56:52confirm that the license was now refunded.
- 56:55So you were able to just continue that's?
- 56:56A crazy thing to miss, by the way.
- 56:58After March of 2026, the way this works is that there is a 14
- 57:02day refund period in doing so. Once you purchase a game, you
- 57:07have that 14 day period and then you are given a 30 day license
- 57:11in between that zero the moment you bought the game to the next
- 57:1530 days. As soon as you go online and log
- 57:19into the game after the 14 day period and then you go offline,
- 57:24you have a permanent license. Sony is not taking your games
- 57:28away. You do not need to rebuy any
- 57:31games. There is not a periodic 30 day
- 57:33check in. There is not like one time
- 57:36thing. It is a one time thing.
- 57:38And the DRM is gone after that. After that.
- 57:40Yes, yes, it becomes ADRM free license.
- 57:43You are able to just play it offline or online.
- 57:45It doesn't. Yeah, it doesn't matter like
- 57:47that. But that's The thing is that
- 57:48it's only meant to protect against the people who were
- 57:52purchasing the game, refunding it, getting their money back and
- 57:55then going offline to continue being able to play it.
- 57:58That's all it was. Meant to sign too, right?
- 58:00And they were, I believe they were cracking it as well.
- 58:02So that way they could give it to other people.
- 58:03So yes, that's all it's meant to fight against.
- 58:06That is not meant to fight against someone who is just
- 58:08paying 50-60 seventy forty $30.00 for a game and then they
- 58:13go offline for a period of certain time.
- 58:15No, as soon as you go online after that 14 day check in and
- 58:18you are after that 14 day refund period and you like sign into
- 58:23PlayStation Store, it verifies your license, it turns into DRM
- 58:27free offline online. It doesn't matter.
- 58:30Yes, that is what you want. So like they are not trying to
- 58:33take away your games, they're not trying to make you rebuy,
- 58:35they're not making you check in and online every 30 days.
- 58:38It is just simply to confirm that you cannot refund the game
- 58:41after you go offline again. Perfect.
- 58:44That's all it's for. So guess what?
- 58:48Next week we get to have fun. We do get to have fun.
- 58:51We also gotta play games. Yes, we're gonna go play some
- 58:53games now that is the news. This is a news based episode.
