- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Dutch with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 71! Can you believe it? Lucas: I know, time flies. Ready to learn something new today? Luna: Absolutely. What's on the menu? Lucas: Today we're going to learn the days of the week in Dutch. Luna: Oh, that's useful. I always mix them up. Lucas: We'll start with Monday. In Dutch, Monday is maandag. Luna: Maandag. Lucas: Perfect. Tuesday is dinsdag. Luna: Dinsdag. Lucas: Wednesday is woensdag. Luna: Woensdag. That one's a bit tricky. Lucas: You said it well. Thursday is donderdag. Luna: Donderdag. Lucas: Friday is vrijdag. Luna: Vrijdag. Like free day? Lucas: Exactly. Saturday is zaterdag. Luna: Zaterdag. Lucas: And Sunday is zondag. Luna: Zondag. Sounds like 'sun day' — that makes sense. Lucas: Let's say them all together. Maandag, dinsdag, woensdag, donderdag, vrijdag, zaterdag, zondag. Luna: Maandag, dinsdag, woensdag, donderdag, vrijdag, zaterdag, zondag. Lucas: Great. Now, if you want to say 'on Monday', you say 'op maandag'. Luna: Op maandag. Lucas: Exactly. So, 'I work on Monday' is 'Ik werk op maandag'. Luna: Ik werk op maandag. Lucas: Perfect. Let's practice with a little scene. Imagine you're making plans. You could say, 'I am free on Friday' — 'Ik ben vrij op vrijdag'. Luna: Ik ben vrij op vrijdag. Lucas: And I could answer, 'Great, let's meet on Saturday' — 'Mooi, we zien elkaar op zaterdag'. Luna: Mooi, we zien elkaar op zaterdag. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. What's Monday? Luna: Maandag. Lucas: Tuesday? Luna: Dinsdag. Lucas: Wednesday? Luna: Woensdag. Lucas: Thursday? Luna: Donderdag. Lucas: Friday? Luna: Vrijdag. Lucas: Saturday? Luna: Zaterdag. Lucas: Sunday? Luna: Zondag. Lucas: You've got them. Now, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Dutch, we want to tell you something. Luna: We deliberately don't run ads on these episodes. It's just us, learning together. Lucas: If you'd like to support that choice, there's a way. It's buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it helps us keep the show ad-free and focused on what matters: your learning. Lucas: Alright, back to the days. Let's say you want to ask 'What day is it?' — 'Welke dag is het?' Luna: Welke dag is het? Lucas: And you could answer, 'It is Monday' — 'Het is maandag'. Luna: Het is maandag. Lucas: Let's do one more practice. I'll say a day in English, you say it in Dutch. Monday. Luna: Maandag. Lucas: Wednesday. Luna: Woensdag. Lucas: Friday. Luna: Vrijdag. Lucas: Sunday. Luna: Zondag. Lucas: Excellent. Now you can talk about your week in Dutch. Luna: This is going to be so helpful for planning. Lucas: Practice these days whenever you look at a calendar. Till next time, keep learning with Fexingo. Luna: Doei!
