- 0:43- Here is today's prayer.
- 0:49- Hello, and welcome to today's daily prayer.
- 0:53- Today, we are tackling
- 0:56- what happens when we are too emotionally
- 0:59- exhausted
- 1:01- to hear God.
- 1:03- You know, I'm sure that we would all
- 1:05- agree that at some point in our life,
- 1:08- we have
- 1:09- reached a point
- 1:11- where
- 1:13- stress, disappointment, and exhaustion
- 1:16- has made us feel very spiritually numb.
- 1:20- And so much so
- 1:22- that
- 1:24- not only does it
- 1:28- require too much energy to think about it,
- 1:31- talking about it is an absolute
- 1:35- no.
- 1:36- I mean, it's like
- 1:38- we're so emotionally
- 1:40- overwhelmed.
- 1:42- We have nothing left in our emotional
- 1:45- account to give to ourselves, let alone God.
- 1:49- And when we become that level of being
- 1:53- overwhelmed,
- 1:54- even prayer can feel difficult.
- 1:57- Well, let me encourage you by saying that
- 2:01- even in the silence,
- 2:02- there is a conversation.
- 2:05- And
- 2:06- while we may be wondering if God is
- 2:09- still
- 2:10- speaking,
- 2:11- I think the comfort
- 2:14- is in knowing that when he says
- 2:18- that he's with us until the very end,
- 2:20- whatever that end is,
- 2:23- Number one, he's not a man that he
- 2:25- should lie nor the son of man that
- 2:27- he should repent. In other words, if he
- 2:29- said it, he didn't lie. He didn't change
- 2:32- his mind.
- 2:33- He knew exactly what he was signing up
- 2:36- for
- 2:37- when he went to the cross for us,
- 2:39- and he understands
- 2:41- what we're experiencing
- 2:43- when we are being emotionally and spiritually overwhelmed.
- 2:47- But that doesn't mean that he's not speaking.
- 2:51- If I could leave you with some encouragement,
- 2:56- remember that even when
- 2:59- you were in school and it was time
- 3:01- to take the test,
- 3:03- the teacher did not speak, but it did
- 3:05- not mean that the teacher was not there.
- 3:09- The silence was there to help you think
- 3:12- and access the answers that you needed.
- 3:15- All the while knowing
- 3:17- that the teacher
- 3:19- was right there in the midst of
- 3:22- the challenge
- 3:23- of the test.
- 3:25- That being said,
- 3:27- let's pray.
- 3:30- Heavenly father,
- 3:32- you know when our heart feels tired
- 3:35- and our mind feels overwhelmed.
- 3:37- Remind us that we don't have
- 3:41- to have everything together to come to you.
- 3:47- In fact, you prefer that we don't because
- 3:50- you're the one that puts all of our
- 3:53- broken
- 3:54- pieces
- 3:55- back together again.
- 3:58- Renew our strength
- 3:59- and quiet our anxious thoughts.
- 4:02- Help us to hear your gentle voice beneath
- 4:04- the noise of exhaustion.
- 4:08- And fill us with hope,
- 4:10- peace, and renewed trust in you.
- 4:12- And to remember
- 4:14- that
- 4:15- in the midst of being tested,
- 4:19- you don't have to speak,
- 4:21- but your silence
- 4:23- speaks volumes.
- 4:24- And we will bless you In Jesus' name,
- 4:27- amen.
- 4:29- If this was a blessing to you,
- 4:31- share this prayer with someone who could use
- 4:35- this encouragement today.
