- 0:04Speaker 1: I am pleased to be joined by my friend Ariel
- 0:07Speaker 1: Hawani and Nick fan The Ariel Hawani Show live on
- 0:12Speaker 1: on Crowned and YouTube one pm Eastern, and Ariel is
- 0:15Speaker 1: a big Nick fan, So we're not here to talk
- 0:17Speaker 1: the fight game, although he is the go to guy
- 0:19Speaker 1: for the fight game. He is here to talk about
- 0:22Speaker 1: the New York Knicks and Ariel, I gotta tell you, man,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I am so excited. I am going home tonight to
- 0:27Speaker 1: do something I haven't done since nineteen ninety nine.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna watch a fucking Knicks finals game. How about that.
- 0:35Speaker 3: It's unbelievable, it really is. I'm actually going to do
- 0:38Speaker 3: my show right now, and it is about fighting. And
- 0:41Speaker 3: I gotta be honest with you. I can't concentrate. I
- 0:45Speaker 3: can't muster up the emotion, the passion. Yes, I have
- 0:49Speaker 3: such a stomach ache right now, like I am just
- 0:51Speaker 3: perpetually nervous, and I can't get enough of all the content.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Last night, I was just sitting in bed watching every
- 0:58Speaker 3: single press conference, the open workout, looking at them in
- 1:02Speaker 3: front of that finals logo. We've been waiting for this.
- 1:06Speaker 3: It felt at one point like it was never gonna happen.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Again in our lifetime, like they dropped the video with
- 1:12Speaker 3: Clyde narrating it.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I woke up this morning.
- 1:14Speaker 3: And I was showing my son that video and he
- 1:16Speaker 3: looked at me. He's like, are you crying? And I'm like, yes,
- 1:19Speaker 3: I'm crying. You don't realize you're twelve years old. You
- 1:21Speaker 3: don't realize how much we've suffered and what this means
- 1:24Speaker 3: to us. I want this so bad to you, guys.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I can't even describe how badly I want this. And
- 1:30Speaker 3: to think that we are just four wins away from
- 1:32Speaker 3: as I've said a million times over the past week
- 1:35Speaker 3: to friends and family, a lifetime of pain will be
- 1:37Speaker 3: erased and a lifetime of angst will be.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Relieved if they can pull this off.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Well said, and I really you didn't even mention the
- 1:44Speaker 5: image of Patrick Ewing wearing the twenty twenty six finals.
- 1:47Speaker 2: At Oh God, Jesus, that broke me, Man, that broke me.
- 1:52Speaker 3: There was a moment there at the end of Great
- 1:54Speaker 3: Patrick Ewing is my favorite accid of all time. I
- 1:56Speaker 3: became a Ewing fan in nineteen ninety when I walk
- 1:58Speaker 3: into a shoe store that a year old and my
- 2:00Speaker 3: older brothers playing a prank on me, say, don't buy those.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Jordans, buy those shoes, those big, ugly, bulky shoes, buy
- 2:08Speaker 6: the Ewings. And I'm like, all right, sure, guys, right,
- 2:10Speaker 6: And then I look him up in a magazine, I'm like,
- 2:13Speaker 6: all right, I guess this is my guy. And that's
- 2:15Speaker 6: how I fall in love with the Knicks back in
- 2:17Speaker 6: nineteen ninety and Patrick Ewing being my guy. And so
- 2:19Speaker 6: when he was on the bench at the end of
- 2:21Speaker 6: Game four against the Cavs and they kind of zoomed
- 2:24Speaker 6: in on his face and then he puts the hat
- 2:26Speaker 6: on and it's Clyde to him to Brunson.
- 2:28Speaker 4: It broke me.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I think every Nick fan wants this for themselves, but
- 2:32Speaker 3: I think they wanted for Patrick.
- 2:33Speaker 6: They wanted for John, they wanted for Charles, they wanted
- 2:36Speaker 6: for Derek Harper, they wanted for all those guys as well.
- 2:39Speaker 6: And then of course Houston and Spree and LJ and
- 2:41Speaker 6: Chris Childs and Charlie Ward. There's just so much that
- 2:44Speaker 6: goes into this man. And I know I'm preaching to
- 2:46Speaker 6: the choir here, but it's just mustering up a lot
- 2:49Speaker 6: of emotion right now.
- 2:50Speaker 2: How many times have you cried during this finals run.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I mean, oh my, I mean at this point, since
- 2:56Speaker 3: we've clinched, it's been on a daily.
- 2:58Speaker 6: Basis, all the video, all the edits, the highlight reels.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I don't so.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I saw a couple of people who I respect, say
- 3:05Speaker 3: Nixon seven right, and I'm just thinking to myself, I
- 3:08Speaker 3: am so nervous before game one. I don't think I'll
- 3:11Speaker 3: be able to survive seven games, Like, could you imagine
- 3:15Speaker 3: what that seventh game will feel like?
- 3:17Speaker 4: Game day?
- 3:18Speaker 3: I don't know if my body.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Can handle it.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I'm being one hundred percent honest. When we played the
- 3:21Speaker 3: Rockets in ninety four, like I was twelve years old
- 3:26Speaker 3: and I sat in a hotel room in Boston. I'll
- 3:28Speaker 3: never forget crying wearing my ewing jersey. But I was
- 3:30Speaker 3: twelve years old, like to me, time was infinite. Now
- 3:33Speaker 3: I'm staring it at us like I'm I gonna have
- 3:35Speaker 3: to wait another twenty seven years to see them again.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Well i'd even be alive, like is this my last chance?
- 3:40Speaker 3: And so it feels so much more daunting, it feels
- 3:43Speaker 3: so much more heavy at this time, Like That's why
- 3:47Speaker 3: I'm praying for a sweep. I know there's no chance.
- 3:49Speaker 3: For a sweep, but I just kind of want to
- 3:51Speaker 3: fast forward, get this over with, and then relive it
- 3:54Speaker 3: all knowing how it all ends up.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Harry All, I was making the argument to the guys
- 3:59Speaker 5: earlier this post and that Jalen Brunson has changed my life,
- 4:03Speaker 5: and they laughed at me. They said it was an overreaction.
- 4:05Speaker 5: Do you agree or disagree with that sentiment? For diehard
- 4:08Speaker 5: Knicks fans that Jalen Brunson has changed their lives, he
- 4:11Speaker 5: has to agree.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I mean one million percent.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I tweeted on the day they signed him, this is
- 4:17Speaker 3: the steal of the century. And every so often after
- 4:21Speaker 3: you know it is back in twenty twenty two, every
- 4:22Speaker 3: so often after he does something amazing, I go back
- 4:25Speaker 3: to that tweet and I just look at the replies.
- 4:27Speaker 3: You idiot, you'll you'll, you'll regret this classic Nick.
- 4:32Speaker 4: What an awful deal.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I mean, and and and honestly, like, did I expect
- 4:36Speaker 3: this so soon? Man? Maybe not, but I knew he
- 4:38Speaker 3: was going to be that guy that was just some
- 4:40Speaker 3: He's a winner, and we saw it in Villanova and
- 4:43Speaker 3: the way he conducts himself, the way he conducted himself
- 4:45Speaker 3: after Game four against the Cavs. There's just so much
- 4:48Speaker 3: to like about him, and you know, the connection with
- 4:51Speaker 3: his dad and his connection to the Knicks and all that,
- 4:53Speaker 3: like it just felt like there was something magical and
- 4:56Speaker 3: so yes, of course, I feel so lucky. I have
- 4:58Speaker 3: two boys who are fourteen in twelve, and my two
- 5:01Speaker 3: favorite teams are the Knicks and the Bills. And the
- 5:04Speaker 3: fact that I've been able to give them Jalen Brunton
- 5:07Speaker 3: and Josh Allen as their guys, I feel like it's
- 5:10Speaker 3: like the greatest things that I've ever been able to
- 5:11Speaker 3: do as a parent.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Yes, I mean, these spoiled kids, they haven't been through
- 5:14Speaker 1: the difficult times for either organization.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Jesus. I mean you know, I mean lucky, very lucky, Ariel.
- 5:22Speaker 3: They missed it, like they just started to care about
- 5:24Speaker 3: sports once Jalen arrived and when Josh gets drafted and
- 5:28Speaker 3: I'm like you, he said, you have no idea. I
- 5:31Speaker 3: mean like for those two teams. Think about this, for
- 5:34Speaker 3: those two like the Knicks started to get really bad.
- 5:36Speaker 4: As of oh one, and then oh one.
- 5:38Speaker 3: To thirteen, they're a laughing stock. They win one playoff game,
- 5:41Speaker 3: they finally win a playoff series in thirteen. The Bills
- 5:44Speaker 3: don't make the playoffs between ninety nine and seventeen. I mean,
- 5:48Speaker 3: it was awful. And oh, by the way, in the
- 5:49Speaker 3: midst of all that, my favorite baseball team leaves town.
- 5:52Speaker 3: The Montreal expose them from Montreal, they leave town. That
- 5:55Speaker 3: seventeen year stretch was absolutely miserable. My kids waltz in
- 5:59Speaker 3: here and they're getting generational run after generational run, and
- 6:02Speaker 3: I'm so happy. I don't want them to suffer, because
- 6:05Speaker 3: let's be honest, if they were born in like three,
- 6:07Speaker 3: they probably would be thunder fans right now or something
- 6:10Speaker 3: like that. And that's the last thing I want.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I'm bleep at David Sampson.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Go ahead, Taylor, Oh oh yeah, started on them.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I'm not I just I said it. You don't have
- 6:19Speaker 2: decie any to go ahead, Taylor.
- 6:20Speaker 5: They your kids didn't have to go through the Antonio
- 6:25Speaker 5: mcdicce trade, the Stefan Marbury vaseline, the Nate Robinson era,
- 6:31Speaker 5: the all the bad days. They didn't have to watch
- 6:33Speaker 5: louim Munson. But do you think any part of you
- 6:36Speaker 5: looks back at those years and was like, you know what,
- 6:39Speaker 5: it's gonna make this finals run even better?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yes, it hardened you yes.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Yes, and no, man, because those were some awful years.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I mean it was awful, like I would have gladly
- 6:49Speaker 3: taken a ring in two thousand and like I said,
- 6:52Speaker 3: be way less anxious here because I said this to
- 6:55Speaker 3: my kids, Like if they pulled us off, I don't
- 6:57Speaker 3: know if I will care as much. In fact, I
- 6:59Speaker 3: think I won't care as much, and I welcome that.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I don't want to feel that feeling after every playoff loss,
- 7:05Speaker 3: after every series loss, after a random, gut wrenching loss
- 7:09Speaker 3: in March. I don't want to care as much, to
- 7:11Speaker 3: be honest, I don't want it to dictate my mood
- 7:14Speaker 3: as much as it does. And I feel like, and
- 7:16Speaker 3: I ask my friends who have seen their teams win
- 7:18Speaker 3: a championship, like it changes, right, Like you care a
- 7:20Speaker 3: little bit less. Yeah, you care a little bit less,
- 7:22Speaker 3: and then you get lost in it if they go
- 7:23Speaker 3: for a repeat, et cetera.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Et cetera.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And so those years were awful. They were depressing. We
- 7:29Speaker 3: were a joke, we were a laughing stock. I didn't
- 7:32Speaker 3: really I was there.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I watched it.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I went to games. I moved to New York. I
- 7:36Speaker 3: tried to go as much as I can. I got
- 7:38Speaker 3: excited when you know Porzingis came, when RJ. Barrett came.
- 7:41Speaker 3: You know, the lottery was our finals. That's all we
- 7:44Speaker 3: had to care about. But I mean, do I wish
- 7:46Speaker 3: that we were the Spurs winning, you know, five out
- 7:49Speaker 3: of six?
- 7:49Speaker 4: Yeah? Absolutely, that would have been way cooler.
- 7:52Speaker 1: How much does the alien terrify you? Because he's in
- 7:55Speaker 1: my dreams, He's in my head already. He hasn't even
- 7:57Speaker 1: arrived at the Mecca yet, but he's not going to
- 7:59Speaker 1: sweat that environment.
- 8:00Speaker 2: He's going to embrace it. He scares me.
- 8:03Speaker 3: He does scare me.
- 8:05Speaker 4: He's unbelievable.
- 8:06Speaker 3: He's a once in a lifetime talent. I do find
- 8:09Speaker 3: it interesting how emotional he was after beating the Thunder,
- 8:13Speaker 3: and I wonder if, like if that was his championship,
- 8:15Speaker 3: so to speak, because they put so much into that.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think on paper, I think on paper we are
- 8:21Speaker 3: the better team, and going into that Thunder series, I
- 8:25Speaker 3: wanted the Spurs to win because I know we match
- 8:28Speaker 3: up better with the Spurs, and I know we've played
- 8:30Speaker 3: the Spurs better over the course of the last two
- 8:32Speaker 3: years than the Thunder. We never beat the Thunder home
- 8:34Speaker 3: or away. They kick our butt and so by the end,
- 8:38Speaker 3: I was starting to rethink that because I felt like
- 8:40Speaker 3: the thunder were, you know, kind of dragging themselves to
- 8:42Speaker 3: the finish line and they were banged up, and by
- 8:45Speaker 3: the time gave seven ended, I was like, huh, was
- 8:47Speaker 3: this actually better for us? But now a few days later.
- 8:50Speaker 4: He's unbelievable.
- 8:51Speaker 3: But I'm praying and hoping that this is the seven
- 8:54Speaker 3: Calves against the Spurs, which is essentially like he got
- 8:57Speaker 3: there really early like Lebron did. He has much better
- 9:00Speaker 3: supporting cast, There's no doubt about that. So the similarities
- 9:02Speaker 3: aren't exactly the same, but hopefully we get them a
- 9:05Speaker 3: little bit early and we get our championship. And I
- 9:08Speaker 3: just want one. I'm not looking for a dynasty. I'm
- 9:11Speaker 3: not looking for a Spurs or a Warriors type of run.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Just give us that one. We could all talk about
- 9:16Speaker 3: the summer of twenty twenty six. We could all revel
- 9:19Speaker 3: in the parade and the party and the merch and
- 9:22Speaker 3: everything that will come with us, and we could all
- 9:24Speaker 3: die in peace. I just want that one. He can
- 9:26Speaker 3: have the next fifteen years. Please God bless you.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I'll be rooting for you.
- 9:30Speaker 6: Just give us this one and we'll all be still
- 9:32Speaker 6: very happy, and I don't think we're asking for more
- 9:34Speaker 6: than that, right, Harriol.
- 9:35Speaker 5: We have a great research department here and they came
- 9:37Speaker 5: back with that. Your first Knixt game you ever went
- 9:40Speaker 5: to Madison Square Garden March of nineteen ninety five, Patrick
- 9:44Speaker 5: Ewing scored thirty four in a loss to the SuperSonics.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Is that kid going to be in the garden for
- 9:51Speaker 5: game three?
- 9:52Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 3: First of all, thank you to your research department. Well
- 9:56Speaker 3: done to your research department. That's incredible. Thank you, Tom Marshall,
- 10:00Speaker 3: nineteen ninety five.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Well done.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Yes, March eleventh, nineteen ninety five was my first time
- 10:06Speaker 3: entering Madison Square Garden. I went to Crosby's, bought my
- 10:09Speaker 3: Charles Oakley jersey. I begged my parents for years to
- 10:13Speaker 3: take me to a game again. I grew up in Montreal,
- 10:16Speaker 3: and some people like are are confused by that. I
- 10:19Speaker 3: was never a real big hockey fan.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I was.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I was a kid who wanted to live in New
- 10:23Speaker 3: York because of the Knicks. I was obsessed with all
- 10:25Speaker 3: things New York because of the Knicks. And they finally
- 10:28Speaker 3: took me to a game. We were sitting fourth to
- 10:30Speaker 3: last row up at four hundreds and ing had a
- 10:33Speaker 3: great game, but then got injured in the fourth quarter
- 10:35Speaker 3: and they ended up losing to the SuperSonics. And so
- 10:39Speaker 3: I've been lucky.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Enough to go.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I was. I was at Game three and nineteen ninety
- 10:42Speaker 3: nine against the Hawks, and everyone's chanting Jeff bang Gundy,
- 10:46Speaker 3: Chris Dudley has a great game. I've been to some
- 10:49Speaker 3: playoff games this year and previous years as well, and
- 10:51Speaker 3: I'm doing everything in my power to be there for
- 10:55Speaker 3: Game three. In Game six, my daughter has a school
- 10:57Speaker 3: play Game four. I'm not gonna miss it, but it
- 11:00Speaker 3: would just be too hard to go from where we
- 11:02Speaker 3: live to the gardens, so I think that's the right
- 11:04Speaker 3: thing to do. But I'm doing everything in my power
- 11:06Speaker 3: to secure tickets for three and six.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Not freebies.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I'm not a celebrity, I'm not Shala Man. I'm not
- 11:11Speaker 3: still there. I just need to be in the building.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I don't have those tickets as of now, but I'm
- 11:16Speaker 3: going to do everything in my power to be there.
- 11:18Speaker 3: And I can't imagine what it's going to be like.
- 11:19Speaker 3: And I think you guys can attest to this. It's
- 11:22Speaker 3: fun being a fan. It's a hell of a lot
- 11:25Speaker 3: more fun when you're able to raise fans to like
- 11:27Speaker 3: the team that you grew up liking as well. And
- 11:30Speaker 3: so this morning, my twelve year old son, who's in
- 11:33Speaker 3: sixth grade, which is the grade that I was in
- 11:36Speaker 3: in nineteen ninety four, which is the age that I
- 11:38Speaker 3: was in nineteen ninety four, comes downstairs wearing his Ewing jersey,
- 11:43Speaker 3: and again I cried. I started to get emotional because
- 11:45Speaker 3: that was me in the ninety ninety four run. I
- 11:48Speaker 3: had two jerseys at the time, Ewing and Start, and
- 11:52Speaker 3: I wore those same two jerseys every single day for
- 11:55Speaker 3: the entire run, rotating one other one other. And so
- 11:58Speaker 3: for him to pick that one, He's got a towns
- 12:00Speaker 3: of Brunton, a heart and an andob but he picked
- 12:03Speaker 3: my guy, number thirty three of the captain. And I'm
- 12:06Speaker 3: getting emotional now. Guys again, talk to you about this,
- 12:08Speaker 3: but it meant so much to me.
- 12:10Speaker 1: No, I'm gonna cry with you. I mean, this is
- 12:11Speaker 1: what it's all about. Yes, we have waited our entire lifetime.
- 12:15Speaker 1: It's the only thing that unifies that place is this
- 12:18Speaker 1: particular basketball team, the New York Knicks, and they've been
- 12:21Speaker 1: so lousy for so long.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So I understand you getting emotional when your kid comes
- 12:25Speaker 2: down weary Patrick ewing Jersey.
- 12:27Speaker 5: As crazy as it sounds.
- 12:29Speaker 4: I would be weeping just like you. It's crazy, man.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I'm so happy for you.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I'm happy for all of us, but we all recognize
- 12:38Speaker 3: this is not it, and I'm terrified of what it
- 12:41Speaker 3: will feel like if it doesn't go our way.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Well, think about it, just stop, no, no, not today.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Don't think about it today. Okay, today, listen.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Today, we are four games, four wins away from winning
- 12:52Speaker 1: an NBA championship. Don't think about what will happen if
- 12:55Speaker 1: we don't win those four games.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Okay, let's just be positive, all right.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Can I ask you a question, as someone who lives
- 13:01Speaker 3: in Miami and you got to see all those great teams,
- 13:04Speaker 3: how much does that hurt you? Because I'm sure you're
- 13:06Speaker 3: covering it, You're in the midst of it. We suck
- 13:08Speaker 3: in that period, but there's probably an element of jealousy
- 13:12Speaker 3: where you're like, am I ever.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Going to experience this?
- 13:14Speaker 3: As like, is the fan and me ever going to
- 13:16Speaker 3: experience what these people are experiencing right now while the
- 13:19Speaker 3: Heat are winning?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Extremely jealous during that entire rum with Lebron with Wade
- 13:24Speaker 1: and Bosh. But also keep in mind, I am listen,
- 13:27Speaker 1: I'm used to this. It can't get any worse than
- 13:29Speaker 1: the Jets, So I am. I'm kind of numb to
- 13:32Speaker 1: it at this point, you know what I'm saying.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and then it all gets relieved, it all gets released.
- 13:38Speaker 4: I'm not sure. I can't.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I can't speak on the Jets. I would invite you
- 13:42Speaker 3: to root for New York's only football team, as the
- 13:45Speaker 3: team that resides in Western New York. Yes, but we
- 13:48Speaker 3: can talk about that at a later date. I just
- 13:51Speaker 3: I know this means so much to so many people,
- 13:53Speaker 3: and I've read so much. I've watched so much about
- 13:56Speaker 3: the seventy and seventy three teams. By the way, were
- 13:59Speaker 3: you around those how.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Old are you?
- 14:01Speaker 6: No?
- 14:01Speaker 2: I was not. I was. I was negative one years
- 14:03Speaker 2: old at that time.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Okay, Yes, I know I want that. I want that
- 14:08Speaker 3: moment for.
- 14:09Speaker 4: All of us.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, No, I missed all of it. I missed
- 14:12Speaker 1: the Jets Super Bowl. I'm just checking off sports boxes
- 14:15Speaker 1: right now before I get out of here, you know.
- 14:17Speaker 2: What I'm saying.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And so like the Mets one one, the Islanders, they
- 14:20Speaker 1: won four for me, the Knicks have a shot this year,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and I have already just said, hey, you know what,
- 14:25Speaker 1: I'm going to go my entire life without the Jets
- 14:26Speaker 1: winning a Super Bowl. I'm okay with that as long
- 14:28Speaker 1: as the Knicks winn an NBA title. And so that's
- 14:30Speaker 1: why I'm begging you to remain positive. Okay, I know,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I know, I know I have to.
- 14:35Speaker 4: I have to.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I'm just I'm a pessimistic person. I'm perpetially negative, right,
- 14:41Speaker 3: and I fear the word. I mean, come on, when
- 14:44Speaker 3: when all of a sudden we're riding high and you
- 14:46Speaker 3: get the tweet, It's like Mitchell Robinson has a broken pinky.
- 14:49Speaker 4: And what what did he do? Is this how it happened?
- 14:53Speaker 4: Is it some Fortunately yesterday I.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Watched, Yes, but fortunately it happened to the guy who
- 14:58Speaker 1: doesn't need his hands to play by I mean, so
- 15:01Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Good things can play.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Will he play though?
- 15:04Speaker 4: Will he actually be clear to play? I don't know.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Can he catch a lob?
- 15:08Speaker 3: Can he get rebounds? I mean, we need that stuff
- 15:10Speaker 3: from him, right, We need.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Him to be somewhat healthy.
- 15:13Speaker 3: We can't have someone banging into him and all of
- 15:15Speaker 3: a sudden he's out. These are the things I worry about,
- 15:18Speaker 3: you know, I worry about about all. Please God bless
- 15:22Speaker 3: you know, oh Giannaobi's hamstrings and groins and all those things.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Every time he goes up for a layup, I'm praying
- 15:28Speaker 3: to the man upstairs to please bless him with the
- 15:30Speaker 3: best health in the world. It's just so, it means
- 15:33Speaker 3: so much. I try to tell my kids how much
- 15:37Speaker 3: this means. My wife, she's been with me since nineteen
- 15:39Speaker 3: ninety nine. She was sitting right next to me when
- 15:41Speaker 3: they lost.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I'm just gonna say, amen, there, And I.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Know you guys get it.
- 15:46Speaker 3: And that's why I'm so happy to be talking to you,
- 15:47Speaker 3: because this feels like a therapy session here. People roll
- 15:50Speaker 3: their eyes and and and make comments, but like, this
- 15:52Speaker 3: means so freaking much. And yeah, I just I just
- 15:56Speaker 3: think of the happiness that these fifteen men twelve who
- 16:01Speaker 3: are playing vast majority nine can bring us in the
- 16:04Speaker 3: next you know, how about how about the fact, guys,
- 16:07Speaker 3: how about the fact that it was exactly a year
- 16:09Speaker 3: ago today that they fired tips. Exactly a year ago today,
- 16:12Speaker 3: the fire tips and we become the laughing stock again.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Jason Kidd won't come Billy Donovan won't come. No one
- 16:18Speaker 3: wants to come. The Knicks did it again. They screwed
- 16:21Speaker 3: it up again, and now look at us. Yeah hours
- 16:24Speaker 3: away now, but nine hours away from the NBA Finals.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Can you hear in New York City?
- 16:28Speaker 2: Can you hear it?
- 16:30Speaker 4: You hear the cops? Hopefully?
- 16:33Speaker 2: So for me, I love you.
- 16:34Speaker 1: You are a perfect representation of what everyone, all Knick
- 16:37Speaker 1: fans are going through right now. We're all over the
- 16:40Speaker 1: place where emotional. You're praying. Amen, by the way to
- 16:43Speaker 1: everything you said, you're praying. I want to have you on.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I want emotional every hellani on after every game.
- 16:50Speaker 2: If possible, we work that out.
- 16:52Speaker 4: If you have time for us.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Again, Yeah, I mean our It's our therapy session and
- 16:57Speaker 3: I'd be happy to. I withhold the right if they
- 17:00Speaker 3: are losing, crushing loss after crushing loss. I've propold it
- 17:03Speaker 3: right to abstain from talking. So I'm gonna take something stupid,
- 17:07Speaker 3: but I believe. Can we get What do you in
- 17:09Speaker 3: your heart of hearts?
- 17:10Speaker 4: What are you saying? What are you saying? What's the
- 17:11Speaker 4: official prediction?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Listen?
- 17:13Speaker 1: I had the Knicks in four last series. I said
- 17:15Speaker 1: sweet before the series started. I have the Knicks in five.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I'm I'm uber confident about this next team. I have
- 17:20Speaker 1: the Nicks in five.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Wow.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I'm going on six.
- 17:24Speaker 6: No.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And here's the thing. He probably hates us hearing that.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Because he doesn't want us to be so cocky and confident, right, yes.
- 17:31Speaker 6: No, no, no, I want it.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I want it.
- 17:33Speaker 6: I wanted I saw that stupid dog yesterday picking against.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Them, and I was like, I hate this freaking dog.
- 17:37Speaker 6: Like every pick that I see in our favor, it's like,
- 17:41Speaker 6: just a little bit more confident. Five would be a dream.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Six would be amazing at home.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I steal one here, steal one here on the road,
- 17:51Speaker 3: and I'll feel a million times better just steal one
- 17:54Speaker 3: of these here. And and how about the symbolism, guys,
- 17:56Speaker 3: how about the symbolism of the stars of that ninety
- 17:59Speaker 3: nineteen They're going to be sitting there at msg LJ
- 18:02Speaker 3: Spree Shuston Ewing. They're going to be sitting there watching
- 18:06Speaker 3: our guys hopefully right the wrong of twenty seven years ago.
- 18:08Speaker 3: And let's be honest, we had no chance in nineteen
- 18:11Speaker 3: ninety nine. It was great just getting there. Ewing's injer A,
- 18:13Speaker 3: Chris Dovely's our starting center. We had no shot. Duncan
- 18:16Speaker 3: was generational just starting his run. Robinson, it was destiny
- 18:19Speaker 3: for him. This feels much different. This feels much more
- 18:22Speaker 3: like ninety four where it's a toss up and I
- 18:24Speaker 3: just pray to God that God, I pray to God
- 18:27Speaker 3: that the basketball basketball gods will smile down upon us.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Amen the Ariel Hawaani Show. Check it out live on
