- Lucas: Luna, good to see you again. Ready for another tiny step in Malay? Luna: Ready! You know, the weather has been so unpredictable lately. One minute it's sunny, the next it's pouring. Lucas: Oh, that's perfect. Today we're going to talk about the weather in Malay. It comes up all the time in conversation. Luna: Great. So how do I ask 'How is the weather today?' Lucas: Say: Cuaca hari ini bagaimana? Listen slowly: Cuaca... hari ini... bagaimana? Cuaca hari ini bagaimana? Luna: Cuaca hari ini bagaimana? Cuaca... hari ini... bagaimana? Lucas: Exactly. Cuaca is weather. Hari ini is today. Bagaimana is how. So you're asking 'Weather today how?' Perfect. Luna: So if it's hot, I can say 'Hari ini panas'? Lucas: Yes! Panas means hot. Hari ini panas. Let's hear you say it. Luna: Hari ini panas. Lucas: Perfect. Now if it's raining, you say: Hari ini hujan. Luna: Hari ini hujan. Hujan means rain. Lucas: Right. And if the weather is cool or cold, you say: Cuaca sejuk. Luna: Cuaca sejuk. Sejuk is cool or cold. Lucas: Exactly. Another common one: if it's windy, you say: Angin kuat. Luna: Angin kuat. Angin is wind, kuat is strong. So 'strong wind'. Lucas: Yeah. Let's practice a little dialogue. I'll ask you: Cuaca hari ini bagaimana? You answer with one of our phrases. Luna: Okay. Cuaca hari ini bagaimana? Lucas: Hari ini panas. Luna: Hari ini hujan. Lucas: Cuaca sejuk. Luna: Angin kuat. Lucas: Nice. You're really getting it. Now let's imagine you're in Kuala Lumpur and someone asks you about the weather. You can answer confidently. Luna: Yeah. 'Cuaca hari ini bagaimana?' 'Hari ini panas.' Simple. Lucas: Exactly. And if you're planning a trip, knowing these words helps you understand forecasts too. Luna: Totally. I think I can handle a basic weather chat now. Lucas: Before we wrap, a quick thing. If Fexingo has been helping you make progress with Malay, and today's lesson felt worth a coffee to you, there's a small way to support us.
