- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simone.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Wrn whoa hey a lot to get to this hour.
- 0:12Speaker 3: So our crazy mayor, crazy mayor Mom Donnie targeting billionaires.
- 0:16Speaker 3: He targets Ken Griffith. Everybody, Ken Griffin, everybody just thought
- 0:20Speaker 3: it was the creepiest video, especially Ken Griffin. Where Mom
- 0:25Speaker 3: Donnie stands outside of Ken Griffin's house tells everybody where
- 0:28Speaker 3: he lives, makes him a target. You know, this is
- 0:31Speaker 3: a couple of blocks from where the healthcare CEO was
- 0:34Speaker 3: shot by Luigi Mangione. Griffin finally fights back and argues
- 0:41Speaker 3: about how creepy it was, how awful it was for
- 0:44Speaker 3: a mayor to take a private citizen and target him
- 0:47Speaker 3: and demonize him. And this is Ken Griffin who spent
- 0:51Speaker 3: about the three billion in taxes here and in addition
- 0:54Speaker 3: to paying three billion in taxes, gave to charity here
- 0:58Speaker 3: in New York, donated to charities just here in New
- 1:01Speaker 3: York about seven hundred million. He's building a new project
- 1:06Speaker 3: fifty second in Park. It's going to be a big skyscraper,
- 1:09Speaker 3: six thousand construction jobs for the next five years and
- 1:13Speaker 3: then fifteen thousand permanent jobs. So this kind of guy,
- 1:18Speaker 3: you want your city In fact, if you're the mayor,
- 1:20Speaker 3: he should be calling this guy saying anything we can
- 1:22Speaker 3: do to help, thank you for building this here, What
- 1:25Speaker 3: can we do to help? That's what you're supposed to do.
- 1:28Speaker 3: So now we're not sure if this project's going to continue.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Ken Griffin saying that that he may scale down New
- 1:35Speaker 3: York's stuff and make more stuff in Miami. They did
- 1:40Speaker 3: this to him Chicago. A crazy left wing mayor demonized him,
- 1:43Speaker 3: targeted him, and he closed down every business, everything he
- 1:46Speaker 3: had in Chicago, that's where he lived. He closed it
- 1:49Speaker 3: all up, moved it to Miami, and he himself moved
- 1:51Speaker 3: to Miami. So Mom, Donnie finally responded to Ken Griffin, Now.
- 1:56Speaker 4: I want all New Yorkers to succeed. That includes business
- 2:00Speaker 4: owners and entrepreneurs who create good paying jobs, who make
- 2:03Speaker 4: this city the economic engine not just of our state,
- 2:06Speaker 4: but frankly of our country. And that also includes Ken Griffin,
- 2:09Speaker 4: who is a major employer in our city. That does
- 2:13Speaker 4: not negate the fact, however, that our tax system is
- 2:16Speaker 4: fundamentally broken. It rewards extreme wealth while working people are
- 2:20Speaker 4: pushed to the brink. It is a status quo that
- 2:23Speaker 4: is unsustainable, that is unjust and if we want the
- 2:27Speaker 4: city to be one that working people can actually afford
- 2:30Speaker 4: to live in, then we need meaningful tax reform that
- 2:33Speaker 4: includes the wealthiest New Yorkers paying their fair share.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Now, everything he's saying is totally erroneous. He's just full
- 2:40Speaker 3: of crap, and it's something he intends to lie. He's
- 2:43Speaker 3: just like a goofy college kid. He's a college kid
- 2:46Speaker 3: on the college debating team. You know, a kid who's
- 2:49Speaker 3: never worked in the real world, never had a job,
- 2:51Speaker 3: never run anything, never managed anything. And the part about
- 2:54Speaker 3: our tax system rewards the wealthy not at all. In fact,
- 2:58Speaker 3: under our tax system the way it's said up though,
- 3:00Speaker 3: wealthy pay weight beyond their fair share. They pay all
- 3:03Speaker 3: of it. You know, the top one percent pays like
- 3:07Speaker 3: forty percent of our taxes. The top one percent pays
- 3:12Speaker 3: like forty percent of our taxes. You know, if you're
- 3:14Speaker 3: a billionaire in New York, you're paying like fifty six
- 3:17Speaker 3: percent in taxes between federal, state, local. It's actually unethical,
- 3:23Speaker 3: immoral to take fifty six percent of anybody's money for
- 3:27Speaker 3: any reason. Why taxes should be ten percent thirty percent
- 3:31Speaker 3: for everybody, ten percent thirty percent for a billionaire. There's
- 3:35Speaker 3: no way on earth you should ever be justified in
- 3:38Speaker 3: taking fifty six percent of somebody's money. And that's why
- 3:42Speaker 3: Steve Moore reported last hour here that so many people
- 3:48Speaker 3: have left New York and they've moved to, you know,
- 3:50Speaker 3: tax fre estates. They've moved to Florida and Texas. And
- 3:54Speaker 3: as he pointed out, the Blue States have lost two
- 3:59Speaker 3: trillion dollars to the Red States. Two trillion has left
- 4:04Speaker 3: the Blue States and gone to the Red States. Now again,
- 4:09Speaker 3: Democrats don't follow the science. Just look at the science.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Look at what they do in these red states. They
- 4:15Speaker 3: have no state income tax. They make it up with
- 4:16Speaker 3: property tax and other kinds of tax. But they're flourishing,
- 4:21Speaker 3: they have budget surpluses. Their budgets do much better than
- 4:25Speaker 3: our budgets. When you do these crazy tax they're rich things.
- 4:28Speaker 3: You not only destroy your economy, but you got no
- 4:31Speaker 3: income coming in. The revenue get drops down. It's just
- 4:34Speaker 3: simple science. We've experimented on it thousands and thousands of times.
- 4:38Speaker 3: All you gotta do is look at it. Then you
- 4:41Speaker 3: got the other problem with Mom Donnie. As we mentioned before,
- 4:45Speaker 3: the Parqui synagogue targeted by violent radicals anti Semitic violent radicals.
- 4:51Speaker 3: The police did what they could, but Mom Donnie let
- 4:54Speaker 3: it go on and on. These guys did the same
- 4:56Speaker 3: thing in Nasa County. Bruce Blakeman sent the police to
- 5:00Speaker 3: stop them, and the whole thing was over in fifteen minutes.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Mam Donnie not only didn't do that, he defended them
- 5:05Speaker 3: as I mean some kind of some kind of rights
- 5:07Speaker 3: under international law, even though there is no such thing
- 5:10Speaker 3: as international law. But when it comes to Jews, Mom Donnie,
- 5:15Speaker 3: he'll try to say that he's not anti Semitic, he's
- 5:19Speaker 3: clearly anti Israel. But well, here he is.
- 5:22Speaker 4: And we have to ensure that Jewish New Yorkers are
- 5:26Speaker 4: safe in this city, and frankly, that the threshold is
- 5:29Speaker 4: not just out of safety, but that they are celebrated
- 5:31Speaker 4: and cherished just as any other New Yorker.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Is that meantime, violent thugs show up at the synagogue
- 5:37Speaker 3: to terrorize Jews, and Mom Donnie does not arrest them
- 5:41Speaker 3: and carry them away. So there's another billionaire, Steve Roth.
- 5:45Speaker 3: He's one of the great builders in New York. He
- 5:47Speaker 3: built a lot of stuff all over New York, all
- 5:50Speaker 3: over the place. He's got to build huts and yards,
- 5:52Speaker 3: among other things. So he is jumping in to defend
- 5:56Speaker 3: Ken Griffin. Hopefully these guys all band together and do
- 5:59Speaker 3: something about Mom Donnie. But Steve Roth pointing out the
- 6:03Speaker 3: way he targeted Ken Griffin and the way he targets
- 6:07Speaker 3: billionaires and the way he talks about him, with the ugly,
- 6:11Speaker 3: sneering way that he talks about these billionaires is equivalent
- 6:15Speaker 3: to a racial slur. It's bigotry. It's not like these
- 6:20Speaker 3: guys don't pay taxes. They pay more taxes than they should.
- 6:23Speaker 3: They pay more taxes than anybody. Again, the top one
- 6:26Speaker 3: percent pays forty percent of our taxes, thirty eight percent
- 6:30Speaker 3: actually of our taxes. It's insane to go after them
- 6:33Speaker 3: like that. But it's out and out bigotry. And you
- 6:36Speaker 3: know Democrats, when they come up with a narrative, they
- 6:40Speaker 3: just go crazy and they'll give you that, well, we
- 6:44Speaker 3: never said Trump is Hitler. Yeah you did? You call
- 6:46Speaker 3: it Trump and Nazi Hitler a million times they make
- 6:49Speaker 3: up this narrative. It becomes a chance. Here, take a listen,
- 6:51Speaker 3: here's democrats. These are all major famous Democrats.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Comparing the tactics of Donald Trump to Mussolini and Hitler.
- 7:00Speaker 3: That's a very legitimate thing. Donald Trump's got this big
- 7:03Speaker 3: rally going at Madison Square Garden. There's a direct parallel
- 7:08Speaker 3: to a big rally that happened in the mid nineteen
- 7:10Speaker 3: thirties at Madison Square Garden. We have a Timu Hitler
- 7:13Speaker 3: in the White House right now that thinks that he
- 7:15Speaker 3: is going to become the dictator of the United States.
- 7:19Speaker 3: This goes out for like twenty minutes. I don't need
- 7:20Speaker 3: to play the whole thing for you. You remember that when
- 7:22Speaker 3: they did a rally at Madison Square Garden. If you're
- 7:25Speaker 3: coming to the middle of New York, Manhattan, you want
- 7:27Speaker 3: to do a rally, what more logical place? Where else
- 7:29Speaker 3: would you do it? Well, you could do it at
- 7:31Speaker 3: Radio City. Madison Square Garden makes more sense, but it's
- 7:34Speaker 3: more seats. But they said, well, that's because the Nazis
- 7:38Speaker 3: had a rally there in nineteen thirty eight, that you're
- 7:40Speaker 3: obviously a Nazi. Everybody had a rally at Madison Square Garden.
- 7:44Speaker 3: The Clinton's, everybody, you know, the Democrats twice, two different times,
- 7:48Speaker 3: held their convention at Madison Square Garden. Billy Joel's at
- 7:53Speaker 3: Madison Square Garden. He was there every month I make
- 7:55Speaker 3: him a Nazi. I mean, it was absolutely ridiculous, this
- 7:58Speaker 3: stuff that concoct and drill into people's heads. So when
- 8:02Speaker 3: you can't believe you're democratic, friends, the crazy things they spew.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Remember they're just watching MSNBC, CNN all day, reading the
- 8:11Speaker 3: New York Times. They hear all this crazy stuff and
- 8:14Speaker 3: they start to believe it. Speaking of which, we lost
- 8:18Speaker 3: the founder of CNN, Ted Turner, who was a great guy.
- 8:22Speaker 3: He was when he created CNN. He was a conservative
- 8:27Speaker 3: and he wanted it totally neutral. And when he created CNN,
- 8:30Speaker 3: he kept it totally neutral. When it started, it was
- 8:32Speaker 3: just straight news. But it's interesting before CNN, all of
- 8:38Speaker 3: our news, from the networks, from the New York Times,
- 8:41Speaker 3: all of our news was controlled by the Northeast establishment,
- 8:45Speaker 3: who were pretty much liberals. The Northeast establishment controlled every
- 8:50Speaker 3: bit of our television news and our most of our
- 8:53Speaker 3: magazine newspaper news. So people got crazy with Ted Turner
- 8:57Speaker 3: because here's a guy from the South who they thought
- 9:00Speaker 3: was a conservative. He wasn't slightly to the right of center.
- 9:03Speaker 3: He was a conservative, but they went nuts the idea
- 9:06Speaker 3: of somebody outside of the Northeast establishment putting together a
- 9:10Speaker 3: news organization. They tried to stop him, they attacked him,
- 9:13Speaker 3: they badmouthed him. And for many years CNN was a
- 9:16Speaker 3: pretty legitimate news organization. It was pretty fair and balanced.
- 9:19Speaker 3: But in the beginning, Ted Turner got all this flack,
- 9:24Speaker 3: so he hired a CBS News legend, Daniel Shore, CBS News.
- 9:29Speaker 3: He had to go hire Daniel Shore, a liberal CBS
- 9:32Speaker 3: News guy, to be one of his top guys, to
- 9:35Speaker 3: reassure people it wasn't going to be a conservative from
- 9:39Speaker 3: the South. Now, you know, a lot of people point
- 9:41Speaker 3: to CNN going bad. For most of the time, it
- 9:45Speaker 3: was pretty down the middle, pretty straightforward. It went so
- 9:49Speaker 3: far to the left. One of the peak things people
- 9:52Speaker 3: point to is CNN came from Atlanta. It was done
- 9:56Speaker 3: from Atlanta. They had a New York operation, New York
- 9:59Speaker 3: studios in New York ha quarters, but probably the majority
- 10:02Speaker 3: of it came from the Atlanta studios in headquarters. And
- 10:06Speaker 3: that made a difference because the CNN people, the executives,
- 10:09Speaker 3: the writers, the broadcasters, the report they were in Atlanta.
- 10:12Speaker 3: They were in the middle of America. They were in
- 10:14Speaker 3: the heartland. They weren't in left wing DC and left
- 10:18Speaker 3: wing Manhattan. So when they closed down that Atlanta bureau
- 10:22Speaker 3: and just did everything for Manhattan. It definitely took a big,
- 10:26Speaker 3: big turn to the left. But Turner, he's been in
- 10:30Speaker 3: bad shape the last few years. He's said dementia and
- 10:33Speaker 3: other things. So I don't think he knew what really
- 10:36Speaker 3: happened to CNN and how bad it got. But I
- 10:39Speaker 3: can't imagine he would have wanted that. He kind of
- 10:43Speaker 3: got pushed out of everything. CNN became part of Time Warner,
- 10:48Speaker 3: and yeah, Time Warner bought it, and then Time Warner
- 10:51Speaker 3: became this big conglomerate, and then they wanted to buy AOL.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I think Turner didn't like the AOL deal, but by
- 10:58Speaker 3: then he had been pushed out, just shoved him out
- 11:01Speaker 3: of the company.
- 11:03Speaker 5: Here, as you know, I've kind of been squeezed out
- 11:06Speaker 5: a Time Warner, out of management roll over the last years.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I don't know why they did it. I think I
- 11:10Speaker 5: was still performing pretty well. We were making our budgets.
- 11:14Speaker 5: We made him billions. They they threw it away with AOL.
- 11:17Speaker 5: But that wasn't completely my fault.
- 11:20Speaker 3: They pushed him out. He was married to Jane Fonda.
- 11:24Speaker 3: That was like the love of his life. Jane Fonda
- 11:27Speaker 3: for me, it was love at first sight. So we
- 11:33Speaker 3: got married and had a great marriage for ten years.
- 11:37Speaker 3: At least I thought it was great. Yeah, and then
- 11:40Speaker 3: he did a lot of us at movies, Hollywood all
- 11:42Speaker 3: that stuff. This is a hoot for me. I'm really
- 11:45Speaker 3: excited about it. You know.
- 11:47Speaker 5: I didn't get get here for my acting ability, even
- 11:51Speaker 5: though I had a cameo appearance in both Gettysburg and
- 11:54Speaker 5: and Gods in Generals.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Yeah. Ted Turner, who was so let's not forget the
- 12:01Speaker 3: sports side of Ted Turner. You know it was a
- 12:03Speaker 3: great sportsman. He was a big sailor. He was always
- 12:07Speaker 3: I think he won too, the America's Cup Race, the
- 12:09Speaker 3: sailing race, big part of his life. And then when
- 12:13Speaker 3: he made a fortune with everything, he bought the Atlanta
- 12:16Speaker 3: Braves and he bought another team, but didn't the Atlanta
- 12:18Speaker 3: Braves win the World Series I think under Ted Turner. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 3: so got to give him credit. How many guys buy
- 12:25Speaker 3: a team, a baseball team and then win the World Series?
- 12:29Speaker 3: Steve Cohen, how many guys do that? It's not easy
- 12:32Speaker 3: to do. But he was just an amazing guy. Dead
- 12:35Speaker 3: yesterday at the age of eighty seven. Also, it should
- 12:38Speaker 3: be pointed out, phenomenal philanthropist gave away I think like
- 12:42Speaker 3: one point four billion in his lifetime. The only one
- 12:46Speaker 3: I didn't like Membory gave that ridiculous amount of money,
- 12:49Speaker 3: hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions to the UN.
- 12:55Speaker 3: But outside of that, there were pretty good donations. Hey,
- 12:57Speaker 3: they're always looking for revenue everywhere in New York and
- 13:00Speaker 3: they want to tax people. You know what you got
- 13:03Speaker 3: to do. Just tax every bicycle, every electric scooter. Just
- 13:09Speaker 3: tax them. You know, they just drive around with no
- 13:12Speaker 3: license nothing. Make them get licenses. You can charge money
- 13:16Speaker 3: a yearly renewal for the license. Start ticketing them. That's
- 13:20Speaker 3: what I mean by tax them. Just ticket them. They're
- 13:22Speaker 3: always up on the sidewalk, they're always going through lights,
- 13:24Speaker 3: they're always in the wrong lane. Just start ticketing them.
- 13:27Speaker 3: The other thing is those stupid petty cabs. Actually just
- 13:30Speaker 3: get rid of those things or restrict them to Central Park.
- 13:34Speaker 3: But these New York City petty cabs are a traffic nightmare.
- 13:38Speaker 3: They're always blaring that loud music. New York state of
- 13:42Speaker 3: mind is always blaring out there driving by their mostly
- 13:45Speaker 3: illegals running those things. But the city is now talking
- 13:49Speaker 3: about Actually, the city Council is looking at cracking down
- 13:53Speaker 3: on those petty cabs because they're also robbing people left
- 13:56Speaker 3: and right. They're just outing an I can't say all
- 13:58Speaker 3: of them, but many of them are out and out crooks.
- 14:02Speaker 3: City Council's trying to put together legislation to beef up
- 14:05Speaker 3: the oversight require meters. Do you know sometimes they charge tourists.
- 14:10Speaker 3: A tourist gets in, you know, another country that barely
- 14:13Speaker 3: knows the language, and they end up charging them a
- 14:16Speaker 3: thousand dollars. They menace them and demand one thousand dollars.
- 14:19Speaker 3: It's been going on all the time, and there's about
- 14:23Speaker 3: they say there's about eight hundred and fifty of them licensed.
- 14:26Speaker 3: There's an eight hundred and fifty licensed petticaps, but they
- 14:31Speaker 3: believe there's another fifteen hundred unlicensed operating all over Manhattan.
- 14:38Speaker 3: That's unbelievable. So you want some revenue, go after these guys.
- 14:41Speaker 3: If they're charging people one thousand dollars, go after them. Hey,
- 14:45Speaker 3: if you're a pizza lover or bagel lover. A lot
- 14:49Speaker 3: of people got very upset at this story that came
- 14:53Speaker 3: out yesterday. The is it also the city council? Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 3: the City of New York wants to ban certain and
- 15:01Speaker 3: a couple ingredients that are used in all bagels and
- 15:03Speaker 3: all pizza. They feel it can cause cancer. New York
- 15:08Speaker 3: state lawmakers want to ban this ingredient. It's in every
- 15:11Speaker 3: pizza and in every bagel. It's potassium bromate. Now, I've
- 15:18Speaker 3: asked pizza makers, bagel makers. They all say it shouldn't
- 15:23Speaker 3: affect anything. They don't believe it'll change the taste of anything.
- 15:27Speaker 3: It's used to help the flower rise, so unless they
- 15:32Speaker 3: find a suitable replacement, it could affect the texture. But
- 15:34Speaker 3: these guys don't think it's going to affect the taste.
- 15:37Speaker 3: And let's be honest. Did you ever order a pizza
- 15:40Speaker 3: and ask for give me extra potassium bromate? Nobody even
- 15:44Speaker 3: knew it was there, So don't be so panicky. They
- 15:48Speaker 3: say it won't affect anything. Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Next eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Is the number eight hundred three to two one zero
- 15:57Speaker 3: seven ten. It's in access to.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Mark by setting a pre set in the iHeartRadio app
- 16:04Speaker 6: for his live show and his podcast.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Now back to the Mark Simone show on woor Hey,
- 16:12Speaker 3: let's take some calls. Let's go to Mary Anne in Connecticut.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Mary Anne, how are you doing?
- 16:17Speaker 7: Oh, good morning, Mark, Thank you for taking my call.
- 16:21Speaker 7: I just wanted to tell you fear not. You will
- 16:23Speaker 7: have your pizza and your bagels. There are plenty of
- 16:27Speaker 7: unbromiated flowers out there on the market.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Oh.
- 16:30Speaker 7: My husband and I own a pizzeria, a restaurant, Lombardi's
- 16:34Speaker 7: Tratzaria in will And Redding, Connecticut, and we use unbromeated
- 16:40Speaker 7: flower from Italy called double zero.
- 16:43Speaker 3: But that's probably more expensive to use than the regular stuff, right, slightly.
- 16:46Speaker 7: But it's not the difference is not it's not a problem.
- 16:50Speaker 3: And what does that potassium bromite actually do I you.
- 16:53Speaker 7: Know, I really don't have any ideas. Something they started
- 16:56Speaker 7: adding I think was around World War Two into the
- 17:00Speaker 7: flowers to make me perhaps to make them rise faster.
- 17:04Speaker 7: I'm really not sure about that. But we know that
- 17:07Speaker 7: that's not healthy for you, so we don't use it
- 17:10Speaker 7: at all. And you don't have to use it because
- 17:12Speaker 7: there's plenty of flowers on the markets that don't have
- 17:14Speaker 7: that are not romeated.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Very good, excellent, Yeah, good to hear from an expert.
- 17:19Speaker 3: What's the name of your place. Excuse me, what's the
- 17:22Speaker 3: name of your place?
- 17:22Speaker 7: Lombardi Lombardi's Trattaria reading Connecticut.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Beautiful town reading right next to ridge for you.
- 17:28Speaker 7: Yes, so we do a traditional Italian wood burning oven.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Very good, All right, well, thanks for calling. Excellent call.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Let's go to uh David in Connecticut. David, how you
- 17:38Speaker 3: doing good? Mark?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Thanks?
- 17:41Speaker 6: I got this question with strives me crazy about this
- 17:44Speaker 6: ambiguous fair share?
- 17:46Speaker 3: How much is the fair share? They never tell you
- 17:48Speaker 3: what the fair share is? Well again, right now, if
- 17:51Speaker 3: you're a billionaire, you're paying about fifty six fifty six
- 17:54Speaker 3: fifty seven percent if you're living in New York. That
- 17:57Speaker 3: sounds like way hibove it. Nobody should be paying that amount.
- 17:59Speaker 3: That's immoral to take that much money from somebody. And again,
- 18:02Speaker 3: the top one percent is paying thirty eight percent of
- 18:07Speaker 3: the taxes, which is a little that's way beyond their
- 18:10Speaker 3: fair share. Let's go to Sergio in New Jersey.
- 18:16Speaker 6: I am if New York, stated an MRI.
- 18:20Speaker 3: What's all that noise? Oh machine are we going on? Oh? Okay,
- 18:25Speaker 3: I'm gonna work.
- 18:27Speaker 6: New York says it's on a huge deposit of natural gas.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah it could copy. Yeah, it's a very good point, Sergio.
- 18:36Speaker 3: You know, thanks to Andrew Cuomo, your electric bill went
- 18:39Speaker 3: up like four hundred percent. You know, remember your electric
- 18:43Speaker 3: bill was like one hundred dollars now it's three hundred.
- 18:46Speaker 3: That's Andrew Cuomo that did that. He banned fracking, no
- 18:50Speaker 3: natural gas. He shut down Indian Point, our nuclear plant
- 18:53Speaker 3: that's twenty five percent of our electricity, and those two
- 18:56Speaker 3: things have major electric bill. Go sky, that's why that happened.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike. Because lawmakers make me, ye,
- 19:10Speaker 3: did we lose Mike?
- 19:11Speaker 6: May not cause cancer?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead.
- 19:15Speaker 6: So they want to get rid of an additive that
- 19:17Speaker 6: may or may not get rid of cancer these lawmakers.
- 19:20Speaker 6: But the same lawmakers want to allow people food stamp
- 19:24Speaker 6: recipients to die soda, So which is more damaging some
- 19:28Speaker 6: kid who's raised on soda. So we have his kids,
- 19:30Speaker 6: you know, his teeth fall out and we have to
- 19:32Speaker 6: pay for that as taxpayers. And then he gets diabetes
- 19:35Speaker 6: and we have to pay for his care for that.
- 19:37Speaker 6: So they're just so self righteously wrong all the time.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good point. They're usually wrong about everything. Great,
- 19:43Speaker 3: call Mike. You know, you know the great job would
- 19:46Speaker 3: be be a laboratory rat, because that's what they test.
- 19:49Speaker 3: You know, if you're a laboratory rat, they keep giving
- 19:51Speaker 3: you soda, pizza, bagels. I mean, it's only good stuff
- 19:55Speaker 3: they test you. Let's go to Mike in Memphis, Tennessee. Mike,
- 19:59Speaker 3: how you doing?
- 20:02Speaker 8: Great?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Good Mark, good morning? Hey all this talk about Correspond's
- 20:06Speaker 1: dinner and the roast. I'll be curious. So I looked
- 20:09Speaker 1: up the very first Friars roast on YouTube, and it
- 20:13Speaker 1: was with Johnny Carson getting roasted.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Well, actually, actually the first first Friar's roast was about
- 20:20Speaker 3: nineteen sixteen. The Carson roast was in the late sixties.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Oh no, no, I mean televised.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Well, actually, the first televised roast. They did a couple
- 20:28Speaker 3: in the fifties. One was for Ed Sullivan, one was
- 20:31Speaker 3: for Humphrey Bogart. But the Carson roast is on YouTube.
- 20:34Speaker 3: It's great. Nineteen sixty eight, sixty nine.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Ninety sixty eight. Yeah, but it was amazing to see
- 20:42Speaker 1: Groucho Marks there and Flip Wilson. But the interesting thing
- 20:46Speaker 1: for me was, I've always wondered who Curtis Lee Will
- 20:50Speaker 1: reminded me of his voice. Yeah, Alan King was the
- 20:53Speaker 1: host and Alan King and Curtis to me, sounds exactly alike.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Ye.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I don't know about that Alan King similarity, but Alan
- 21:03Speaker 3: King they were. They were kind of loud. They would talk.
- 21:07Speaker 3: There was a loudness to them, I mean in a
- 21:08Speaker 3: good way that that was just one of the secrets
- 21:10Speaker 3: of Allent King exactly.
- 21:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Yeah, Alan King's delivery.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's worth watching. And of course it was
- 21:16Speaker 1: absolutely hilarious with Don Rickles on there too.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Yeah, there's actually three of those. There's three of those.
- 21:23Speaker 3: It was the same group. They would just switch, so
- 21:27Speaker 3: there's a Johnny Carson roast. In the next day, they
- 21:29Speaker 3: would tape another one where Don Rickles was the guy
- 21:31Speaker 3: being roasted. It was the great Gary Smith, the producer. Yeah,
- 21:36Speaker 3: they're all on YouTube. Just type Friars Roast YouTube and
- 21:39Speaker 3: they're up there. Same thing with the Dean Martin ROAs.
- 21:41Speaker 8: You know.
- 21:41Speaker 3: They would fly like fifteen celebrities to Las Vegas and
- 21:45Speaker 3: they would tape like eight roasts. They would just keep
- 21:47Speaker 3: switching who was being roasted, but it was the same group.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Let's go to Tony in White Plains, Tony. How you doing.
- 21:54Speaker 8: Yeah, Hi, Mark, Mark. I thought of a good commercial
- 21:57Speaker 8: for our mid time elections for the Republicans. You take
- 22:01Speaker 8: every montage that you could think of that you need
- 22:05Speaker 8: an ID for, and you put him into to a
- 22:07Speaker 8: sequence and you show him on TV. And then you
- 22:10Speaker 8: showed this little old lady. She's shopping in a supermarket
- 22:13Speaker 8: and she got a crock full of groceries there. She
- 22:15Speaker 8: puts them on the counter and the clerk says, I'll
- 22:18Speaker 8: have to get that. She's got a six pack of beer.
- 22:21Speaker 8: She sticks it up. She says, I need to see
- 22:22Speaker 8: your ID.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, actually the montage exists. It's been done online
- 22:26Speaker 3: a million times. It's more done like a list. On
- 22:28Speaker 3: one side you'll see four hundred things that you need
- 22:30Speaker 3: an ID for, and the other side you'll just see
- 22:33Speaker 3: one thing what you don't need an ID for. Voting. Hey,
- 22:37Speaker 3: when we come back. The great comedian Jimmy Fayla. He's
- 22:40Speaker 3: on WR every night nine to midnight. Also does the
- 22:44Speaker 3: best late night show Fox on Saturday night ten o'clock.
- 22:48Speaker 3: But we'll talk to him next on seven to ten WR.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It's the Marks among Show on seven ten WR.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Well, the Great Jimmy Fayler, the great talk show host, comedian.
- 22:59Speaker 3: You can hear him every night at nine o'clock nine
- 23:02Speaker 3: to midnight every night here on seven to ten wor
- 23:05Speaker 3: and watch him Saturday Night's Best Late Night Showing TV
- 23:08Speaker 3: Saturday nights at ten Fox News Channel. Jimmy Fayla, how
- 23:11Speaker 3: you doing.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I'm doing great. I did not know until a week
- 23:16Speaker 2: ago that in addition to being mister New York you're
- 23:19Speaker 2: also mister matchmaker. So can I just tell a two
- 23:21Speaker 2: second story? Mark Simone?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Okay, last week.
- 23:24Speaker 2: We're taping Fox News Saturday night. I have the riza
- 23:28Speaker 2: there from the Wu Tang Plan, which you don't get
- 23:30Speaker 2: a lot of Wu Tang clan on Fox News. I
- 23:32Speaker 2: don't know if you know that kind of the beauty
- 23:35Speaker 2: of my show. But anyway, there is a couple in
- 23:38Speaker 2: the back of my show that has been listening to
- 23:41Speaker 2: me on your show that came to my show and
- 23:44Speaker 2: they had just gotten engaged, and this was their first
- 23:48Speaker 2: this is their first out night out getting engaged. So
- 23:52Speaker 2: I said, it doesn't sound like you're having a really
- 23:54Speaker 2: nice wedding if he's taking you to cheap dates like this.
- 23:57Speaker 2: But the point is this all happened because of Simone. Well,
- 24:01Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know, I don't I don't
- 24:02Speaker 2: know if you're gonna be in the wedding downs. I
- 24:03Speaker 2: don't know how this works, but I was. I had
- 24:06Speaker 2: to share that with you.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I go Jimmy Fayler. It's the best late night show
- 24:09Speaker 3: until he tapes it Friday evening. So if you want
- 24:11Speaker 3: to come, the tickets are free. You can invite somebody.
- 24:15Speaker 3: This is a perfect date. You don't have to tell
- 24:16Speaker 3: him it was free, you know, just bring them.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope I didn't get that guy in trouble
- 24:23Speaker 2: now that now you think about it, because I go,
- 24:25Speaker 2: oh wow, so he's taking you to free shows.
- 24:26Speaker 3: He's already given up.
- 24:28Speaker 2: You're not even married yet. That's a good point. I
- 24:29Speaker 2: might have just I might have just ruined the marriage.
- 24:31Speaker 2: You got him together.
- 24:32Speaker 3: I broke him off before that. So bring your date
- 24:34Speaker 3: to see Jimmy Faylor. They tape in the middle of
- 24:36Speaker 3: Manhattan here and don't say it's free. Just say, hey,
- 24:39Speaker 3: arrange for us to go see Jimmy fail. It's a
- 24:41Speaker 3: great night. Where do you go to get the tickets?
- 24:44Speaker 2: Uh? Fox across America dot Com, Fox Free seats, come
- 24:49Speaker 2: hang out, see the Fox people, all the fun.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Stuff it is. Hey, do you know Stephen Colbert goes
- 24:55Speaker 3: off the air in two weeks? Will you miss him?
- 24:57Speaker 3: I won't miss something.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Talk about addition by subtraction. You know, now we've talked
- 25:05Speaker 2: about this. They need to replace him. They're putting Byron
- 25:09Speaker 2: Allen in there with a show called Comics Unleashed, which
- 25:12Speaker 2: is really going to throw their viewers for a curve
- 25:14Speaker 2: because there'll be comedy there and they you know, they
- 25:18Speaker 2: haven't aired a comedy show in that time slot and
- 25:21Speaker 2: I guess about fifteen years or whatever the heck it
- 25:23Speaker 2: was when Letterman left and got cranky. But for comics, Like, seriously,
- 25:29Speaker 2: he was so bad for us because you know, traditional
- 25:32Speaker 2: late night shows, Mark, We'll have comedians on. You know,
- 25:35Speaker 2: the big break was going on Parson doing a set
- 25:37Speaker 2: and if you liked you, that kind of made your career.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Colbert didn't do that for comics, okay, And when he
- 25:43Speaker 2: had comedians on, they were pre taped segments where he
- 25:47Speaker 2: wasn't even there. Really, they were just dropping this stuff
- 25:50Speaker 2: in the show, you know, completely fake, and it just
- 25:52Speaker 2: it didn't help comics. He's the one late night host
- 25:55Speaker 2: who actually helped No One literally no and maybe Chuck.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Hey, I know you got to go, you got to run.
- 26:03Speaker 3: But so Jimmy fails on w o R nine to
- 26:07Speaker 3: midnight every night. What do you got tonight on the show?
- 26:11Speaker 2: Tonight's a heat her? So got another Trump siding. I'm
- 26:14Speaker 2: supposed to have Eric, I believe tonight according to my
- 26:17Speaker 2: according to my book of Mikey, he comes on once
- 26:19Speaker 2: in a while and apologizes for whatever Lara does. I'm kidding,
- 26:23Speaker 2: She's great, so him and Uh, I'm waiting for a
- 26:27Speaker 2: callback from Tom Holman because I had his personal trainer
- 26:30Speaker 2: on yesterday. And what happens is every time every time
- 26:33Speaker 2: I tell it Tom Holman joke, he usually calls and
- 26:35Speaker 2: threatens my life. And he hasn't threatened me yet, so
- 26:38Speaker 2: I'm assuming he's calling into the show.
- 26:40Speaker 3: So I'll keep you posted all right now, So you
- 26:42Speaker 3: have to leave early? Where do you have to go? Now?
- 26:44Speaker 3: You're going to do something.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I'm supposed to go do a TV hit on Harris's show.
- 26:47Speaker 2: But every time they do this to me, at the
- 26:48Speaker 2: last minute, I get makeup, I run down to the
- 26:51Speaker 2: set and then Trump starts talking and they cover that
- 26:54Speaker 2: for the next hour and thirty minutes.
- 26:55Speaker 3: We'll call it back. No, we're here, Nope.
- 26:59Speaker 2: From the makeup chair.
- 27:02Speaker 3: All right, well, Jimmy Fla always great checking in with you,
- 27:05Speaker 3: and we'll be listening tonight at nine, and watch the
- 27:08Speaker 3: TV show Saturday nights at ten. And you go to
- 27:10Speaker 3: Fox across America. You can get tickets to be in
- 27:12Speaker 3: the audience. It's great, it's free. Great, all right, good luck,
- 27:16Speaker 3: we'll talk to you soon.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Good good stuff, mister matchmaker.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Thank you, take care. Thanks. Yeah, this is a short
- 27:24Speaker 3: one because he has to go do a TV show.
- 27:25Speaker 3: You know. I was on Fox yesterday. I was on
- 27:28Speaker 3: Cudlow yesterday. It's don't tell anybody, but I never get
- 27:34Speaker 3: any makeup. I can't stand makeup. There's like six makeup chairs,
- 27:39Speaker 3: six makeup people there, and if they ever say do
- 27:42Speaker 3: you need me, no, no, I got it from her.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And if she comes over, no, I got it from him.
- 27:47Speaker 3: So I avoid makeup that way. But I watched some
- 27:50Speaker 3: of these guests. They get there early and they go
- 27:54Speaker 3: sit in this makeup chair for like forty five minutes.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I don't know what the hell they're doing for forty
- 27:59Speaker 3: five minutes. The woman is brushing stuff on their face,
- 28:02Speaker 3: using a sponge on their face, and they're wiping this
- 28:06Speaker 3: and they're taking that eyebrow pantcil. I can't stand that.
- 28:12Speaker 3: It's just it's just off. Now, you sit there for
- 28:14Speaker 3: forty minutes, get all this goop put all over your face.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Then you go on for eight minutes, and then you
- 28:22Speaker 3: got the two choices. You can walk around with this
- 28:24Speaker 3: because it looks pretty good. They got great makeup people
- 28:27Speaker 3: looks great. You can walk around with that for the
- 28:30Speaker 3: rest of the night. But you know there's certain TV
- 28:33Speaker 3: people who do that and probably as you go out
- 28:37Speaker 3: in the daylight, you look kind of ridiculous. It looks good,
- 28:39Speaker 3: but they can see you got makeup on all over
- 28:40Speaker 3: your face. Or you got to get that those wipes
- 28:45Speaker 3: with all that goop on them and wipe all this
- 28:47Speaker 3: makeup off. That takes five minutes. So don't tell anybody.
- 28:50Speaker 3: But I never have any makeup on television. And it's
- 28:54Speaker 3: been years and years and years of doing millions and
- 28:56Speaker 3: millions and millions of shows at all these places. Nobody's
- 28:58Speaker 3: ever said anything, nobody's ever noticed. And watch carefully next
- 29:03Speaker 3: time a month you can't see any difference. Not really.
- 29:07Speaker 3: So hey, we're talking about Colbert. He had Obama on?
- 29:12Speaker 3: Was it last night of the Night before? You wonder
- 29:14Speaker 3: why this guy has no ratings and why the show
- 29:16Speaker 3: loses twenty or thirty million a year. I guess it's
- 29:20Speaker 3: a big thing to have Obama on. But have him
- 29:22Speaker 3: on the set, you know, have him come out, you
- 29:25Speaker 3: introduce him, the audience is there. He makes a few jokes,
- 29:28Speaker 3: it's cute, it's funny. It was taped at the Obama
- 29:33Speaker 3: Library or the Obama Conference Center something. It was a
- 29:36Speaker 3: dead serious interview, Obama lecturing America. Nothing funny in it.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Him and Colbert in an empty room, pontificating serious. This
- 29:46Speaker 3: is why the guy's going off the air, and Jimmy
- 29:49Speaker 3: fail is right. It was supposed to be Late night comedy.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Was Steve Allen, It was Jack Parr, was Johnny Carson,
- 29:55Speaker 3: it was Jay Leno. It was Letterman. Ohthough Letterman went
- 29:58Speaker 3: nuts at the end, you remember, and had very good ratings.
- 30:01Speaker 3: He was actually beaten the Tonight show. Then he took
- 30:03Speaker 3: a sharp turn to the left and became an angry
- 30:07Speaker 3: left wing guy on the air, and that was kind
- 30:09Speaker 3: of it for him. His ratings dropped in half, and
- 30:13Speaker 3: that's why he's pretty much gone. He's speaking of Kimmel.
- 30:18Speaker 3: A lot of Colbert's going off the year because there
- 30:21Speaker 3: has no ratings, no ratings, and they've been losing money.
- 30:25Speaker 3: The show loses about twenty or thirty million a year.
- 30:28Speaker 3: It's the same thing with Kimble, no ratings at all.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Remember he got suspended for a week and when he
- 30:34Speaker 3: was suspended for the weekend, they decided to just throw
- 30:37Speaker 3: on a reruns of a game show instead. That got
- 30:40Speaker 3: triple the ratings triple, so it could happen at any moment.
- 30:45Speaker 3: They only signed a one year extension with him. It
- 30:49Speaker 3: could happen at any moment they announced getting rid of
- 30:51Speaker 3: Kimmel because with a one year extension, you can cancel anytime.
- 30:55Speaker 3: The worst that happens, you have to pay off the
- 30:58Speaker 3: rest of the year on that contract. But that's pretty
- 31:00Speaker 3: much what the severance would be anyway, So he could
- 31:03Speaker 3: get canceled at any point. So a lot of nervous
- 31:06Speaker 3: left wing cooks all over Los Angeles have started putting
- 31:11Speaker 3: up billboards and signs. Actually looks like the crazygroup move
- 31:15Speaker 3: on dot org. As part of this, they're targeting Disney
- 31:20Speaker 3: and ABC offices. It's billboards demanding that Kimmel stay on
- 31:26Speaker 3: the air, protect free speech, stand against FCC censorship. So
- 31:31Speaker 3: not only billboards, but this costs a lot of money.
- 31:33Speaker 3: They've got mobile billboards that you can drive around, so
- 31:37Speaker 3: they're driving them around Disney headquarters, Disney, ABC Television, ABC seven,
- 31:44Speaker 3: Disney's corporate office in Burbank, California, So a lot of
- 31:47Speaker 3: locations for Disney out there, so they keep driving them around.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Just it's kind of a secret, a little bit of
- 31:54Speaker 3: a veiled threat to these executives that if you take
- 31:58Speaker 3: them off, we're going to be picketing you to be
- 32:00Speaker 3: outside your doors all the time. And interesting, so you
- 32:06Speaker 3: know all these billionaires moving to Florida. Elon Musk, that's
- 32:11Speaker 3: the last guy you thought would move to Miami. But
- 32:14Speaker 3: Elon Musk seen touring a new property. It's a mansion
- 32:18Speaker 3: under construction. It's expected to be one of the most
- 32:21Speaker 3: expensive mansions in Florida three hundred million. It's still into construction,
- 32:27Speaker 3: but Elon Musk was seen touring the property, so he
- 32:30Speaker 3: may be the next to actually move there. Anyway, Hey,
- 32:36Speaker 3: don't forget coming up at noon today. Buck and Clay.
- 32:39Speaker 3: They do a great show every day at twelve noon.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Then at three o'clock you got the most listened to
- 32:44Speaker 3: radio show in America. Sean Hannity got Jesse Kelly every
- 32:48Speaker 3: night at six and as we just heard Jimmy Fayala
- 32:51Speaker 3: at nine and Curtis is back. You can hear Curtis
- 32:54Speaker 3: Sleewan now every morning with Larry Menti six to ten,
- 32:58Speaker 3: on seven to ten, WR.
- 33:01Speaker 6: On seventen wor it's more of the Marks Emo show.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Well, you know, every year they have that big Berkshire
- 33:13Speaker 3: Hathaway Conference. That's where Warren Buffett and for many years
- 33:18Speaker 3: as partner Charlie Munger, they would sit up there and
- 33:20Speaker 3: take questions from the audience and give these detailed answers
- 33:24Speaker 3: and they would go these question answer things would go
- 33:26Speaker 3: for hours and hours and hours, and people would come
- 33:29Speaker 3: from all over the world because it was fascinating stuff.
- 33:32Speaker 3: They're all on YouTube. By the way, go watch the
- 33:37Speaker 3: Berkshire Hathaway Conference, the yearly shareholders meeting where Buffett answers
- 33:40Speaker 3: questions because it's the answers you want a real education
- 33:44Speaker 3: and investing in business and fascinating stuff. They're all on YouTube.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Begins just watch them for hours. But one hundred thousand
- 33:52Speaker 3: people show up for this every year. They use a stadium,
- 33:54Speaker 3: then they have to have another stadium for overflow where
- 33:57Speaker 3: they watch it on video. Well, Buffett hired and Greg
- 34:01Speaker 3: Abel doing a good job. He took over. But they
- 34:04Speaker 3: finally had the shareholders meeting, first time. Buffett wasn't there
- 34:07Speaker 3: in sixty years, and the attendance dropped dramatically, dramatically, it
- 34:17Speaker 3: was half full, no overflow room. The stadium was half full.
- 34:22Speaker 3: It's not the same without Buffet there. And they talked
- 34:27Speaker 3: about it's probably his best investment Apple apple stock. The
- 34:32Speaker 3: initial Apple stock they bought thirty five billion worth of
- 34:36Speaker 3: applestock grew to be one hundred and eighty five billion.
- 34:41Speaker 3: That's a pretty good that's one hundred and fifty billion
- 34:43Speaker 3: dollar gains just on the Apple stock and if they
- 34:45Speaker 3: had hung on to it a little longer. That's one
- 34:47Speaker 3: thing about Buffett. He's cautious and sometimes sells too early. Hey,
- 34:51Speaker 3: we're out of time, but I'll be back tomorrow. I'm
- 34:54Speaker 3: here every day ten to noon, or you can listen anytime.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Just get the podcast on the weekends. There's a bonus
- 35:01Speaker 3: show for podcast listeners, I'll see you tomorrow on seven
- 35:04Speaker 3: ten wo
