- 0:00Speaker 1: Time for some closing remarks from the wonderful, the one
- 0:03Speaker 1: and only, our fearless leader, Steve Harvey. What you got, Steve?
- 0:07Speaker 2: You know, I was just thinking about encouragement and the
- 0:16Speaker 2: things that have happened in my life to greatly encourage me.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And kind of, like I said, this morning, you know,
- 0:24Speaker 2: I kind of woke up this morning. I just wasn't
- 0:26Speaker 2: myself this morning. I wasn't my usual and I found
- 0:31Speaker 2: myself thinking, you know, some thoughts that I shouldn't have
- 0:34Speaker 2: allowed to get into my head. But I quickly reversed that.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And I'm gonna tell you something that I do because
- 0:43Speaker 2: I was taught a long time ago that your feelings
- 0:47Speaker 2: are a barometer of your thoughts. Your feelings are a
- 0:52Speaker 2: barometer of your thoughts. And what that simply means is
- 0:55Speaker 2: what your feeling is actually like just a thermometer of
- 1:00Speaker 2: what you've been thinking over the past twenty thirty minutes.
- 1:05Speaker 2: If you think, if you catch yourself feeling out of
- 1:09Speaker 2: sorts or getting to a little funk, or feeling a
- 1:12Speaker 2: little depressed, all you have to do is trace back
- 1:15Speaker 2: what you've been thinking for the past fifteen to thirty minutes.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Because all your feelings are are simply a barometer or
- 1:26Speaker 2: however you want to look at it. You might want
- 1:28Speaker 2: to say a thermometer, so you can say it tells
- 1:30Speaker 2: the temperature of what you've been thinking. And so I
- 1:34Speaker 2: had to go back and do that, and I realized
- 1:38Speaker 2: the reason I kind of woke up on the wrong
- 1:40Speaker 2: side of the bed was because I was laying at
- 1:42Speaker 2: thinking some negative thoughts. I was thinking about all the
- 1:47Speaker 2: stuff I had to do, all the stuff I needed
- 1:50Speaker 2: to accomplish, and then I was realizing that there was
- 1:55Speaker 2: no way I was gonna get it all done today,
- 1:58Speaker 2: no matter how hard I try. And as I was
- 2:03Speaker 2: sitting there man beating myself up for knowing all that
- 2:06Speaker 2: I had to do and knowing I didn't have enough
- 2:09Speaker 2: time in the day to get it done, I started
- 2:12Speaker 2: feeling sort of out of sorts and like, man, this
- 2:14Speaker 2: is I want this to move blah blah blah blah blah. Well,
- 2:17Speaker 2: I had to catch myself because I had to be
- 2:20Speaker 2: reminded of the Lord's prayer, the line that says, give
- 2:23Speaker 2: us this day our daily bread, which God has mentally
- 2:28Speaker 2: equipped us to handle today. God didn't set our brain
- 2:32Speaker 2: up to handle tomorrow. To worry about it anyway. You
- 2:35Speaker 2: can think about it and aspire about it and dream
- 2:38Speaker 2: about it, but you're surely not to worry about it
- 2:41Speaker 2: because there's nothing you can do about it. But I
- 2:44Speaker 2: was sitting about worrying about today and all I had
- 2:47Speaker 2: to do, and how I was gonna fit it any day,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and knowing I couldn't, and how I was gonna affect
- 2:50Speaker 2: my tomorrow. Bad mistake, Steve Harvey, and you know better.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And so I'm trying to help you all understand that
- 2:57Speaker 2: when you get into that funk like that, know better,
- 3:00Speaker 2: like I had to know better. God has equipped us
- 3:03Speaker 2: to handle today. Give us this day our daily bread.
- 3:06Speaker 2: He don't want you tripping on what that already happened
- 3:08Speaker 2: in the past. You can't go back, you don't get
- 3:11Speaker 2: do overs, And ain't no need to worry about the
- 3:13Speaker 2: future because you have no control over it. So I
- 3:16Speaker 2: had to get focused and I had to think about, Wow,
- 3:21Speaker 2: all I need is today. I need enough to make
- 3:26Speaker 2: it today. And so as I was sitting there shaving,
- 3:30Speaker 2: I was sitting a bit thinking. I said, Wow, I'm up,
- 3:33Speaker 2: I have a measure of health. I'm shaving. I'm actually okay,
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'm order some room service. I'm okay. I get to
- 3:42Speaker 2: go to work today. That's a blessing. Not I gotta
- 3:46Speaker 2: go to work. I get to go to work today,
- 3:49Speaker 2: because that's a blessing. It's a blessing to have that opportunity.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's people looking for a job today wishing they would
- 3:56Speaker 2: work anywhere, and I just need to get a check
- 3:58Speaker 2: coming in here. I actually get to go to work,
- 4:02Speaker 2: to a job I enjoy. Steve Harvey, are you kidding me?
- 4:08Speaker 2: You got the nerve to wake up on the wrong
- 4:11Speaker 2: side of the bed because you was worrying about what
- 4:14Speaker 2: you might not accomplish. Have you taken a moment, sir,
- 4:18Speaker 2: to just realize what you have? That my children are healthy,
- 4:25Speaker 2: that they all still with me, that I got loving family. Oh,
- 4:32Speaker 2: they had their dysfunctional moments. Oh you can believe that
- 4:36Speaker 2: by at the end of the day. I bet they
- 4:38Speaker 2: love each other. Hey man, you have options. Hey man,
- 4:46Speaker 2: You're able to walk, to see, to talk, to think,
- 4:49Speaker 2: to rhyme to reason. It's just so many little things.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I'm looking out the window right now and I'm realizing
- 4:59Speaker 2: the sun is a and I'm free. Why I can
- 5:02Speaker 2: go out there and enjoy it? Man, get out of here.
- 5:06Speaker 2: You don't have the right, sir, to wake up on
- 5:09Speaker 2: the wrong side of the bed when the joy and
- 5:12Speaker 2: the gratitude ought to be that you woke up on
- 5:15Speaker 2: the bed. How about that? Cause don't you remember, Steve Harvey,
- 5:19Speaker 2: when you didn't have no bed partner? Now you're worried
- 5:22Speaker 2: about getting up on the wrong side, how about them
- 5:25Speaker 2: three years when you ain't had no bed? What about that?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? Man? So you're gonna lay up
- 5:32Speaker 2: here stuck on stupid because you're on the wrong side
- 5:34Speaker 2: of the bed. You frustrated you ain't got enough time
- 5:37Speaker 2: in the day. But did you ever really think about
- 5:39Speaker 2: why you don't have enough time in the day because
- 5:41Speaker 2: you got stuff to do. You know why you got
- 5:43Speaker 2: stuff to do because God created you to be busy.
- 5:46Speaker 2: You know why he created you to be busy so
- 5:48Speaker 2: you can have the life you ask for. You can't
- 5:51Speaker 2: complain about what's all on your plate when your whole
- 5:54Speaker 2: gold was to eat. Sitting up in here tripping about
- 6:00Speaker 2: how much is on my plate when my whole goal
- 6:04Speaker 2: was to eat. Now he got plenty on the plate
- 6:07Speaker 2: and you tripping about that? Are you stupid? Steve Harvey?
- 6:11Speaker 2: I don't think so. So I pulled my big nip
- 6:16Speaker 2: wide nose self together and focused and got grateful and
- 6:21Speaker 2: got my day started. And now as I say goodbye
- 6:24Speaker 2: to y'all this morning, I get to go to work
- 6:27Speaker 2: and do it all over again. Letterture saymen, Amen, Amen again,
- 6:32Speaker 2: Amen again, Holler at your boy.
