- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:02Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get right
- 0:06back to the Pam Bondi transcript. Emmer, So, at the
- 0:13time that you directed this review, was there any sort
- 0:15of plan of what the review would consist of? Bondi? Well, initially, again,
- 0:20we only received several hundred documents and they were released
- 0:23upon redaction by the FBI. Then, once Director Buttell assumed disposition,
- 0:28we found many more documents and as we receive those,
- 0:31those were reviewed and released. And we have always made
- 0:34it very clear that if anyone is the victim of
- 0:36Jeffrey Epstein, and I count Clain Maxwell in there too,
- 0:39she's just as evil as Jeffrey Epstein was, that they
- 0:42come forward to us the FBI. Many of these victims
- 0:46are represented by lawyers and talk to us. Emmer. Upon
- 0:50taking office, did any victims or victim attorneys reach out
- 0:53to the department Bondi, yes, Emmer, how many BONDI I
- 0:58can't recall how many, ultiple there were multiple victims and
- 1:02many of which I believe the majority are represented by attorneys. Emmer,
- 1:06did you meet with them personally or would that have
- 1:09been something that Todd Blanche would have done, answer, BONDI, No,
- 1:13I spoke to one attorney. I can't recall her name.
- 1:15She was a former prosecutor, and she seemed to deeply
- 1:18care about these victims, of course, and I spoke to her,
- 1:20and I believe I referred her to the FBI. You know,
- 1:23when a victim is represented, you go through their attorney,
- 1:26and I spoke to her directly, and then I know
- 1:29many of the lawyers in my office spoke to other attorneys,
- 1:32and I believe the FBI spoke to multiple victims as well,
- 1:35But I would direct that to Deputy Attorney General now
- 1:39Acting Attorney General Blanche, and also director of Bttel. Emmer,
- 1:44you would have been briefed on these meetings with victims
- 1:46and their attorneys, Is that right, BONDI, I have not been.
- 1:51After the fact question, Okay, do you have any idea
- 1:54what the victims and their attorneys were concerned about during
- 1:58the time period of February and spring of twenty twenty five?
- 2:01BONDI only the attorney that I spoke to, and she
- 2:04was just concerned about being heard and these victims being heard. Emmer,
- 2:09Uh huh? Were they interested in files being released? At
- 2:12the time. Answer, I don't recall question. Okay, you mentioned
- 2:19Director Bateel and the FBI. Were there any other agencies
- 2:22that were involved in the review of documents during this period? Bondi,
- 2:28the FBI, the DOJ, multiple components of the DOJ, my
- 2:32National Security Division at the time, and then ultimately we
- 2:35received multiple documents. We used attorneys from around the country,
- 2:39including Florida and New York. Emmer, and I know I
- 2:43asked you about potential co conspirators earlier, but when you
- 2:46were reviewing these initial documents in the spring of twenty
- 2:49twenty five, were there ever any plans to pursue investigations
- 2:53into potential co conspirators? Answer? I'm sorry, what month did
- 2:56you say? Emmer? Upon assuming office and during the spring
- 3:00of twenty twenty five, BONDI, if there were co conspirators
- 3:04or evidence that anyone committed a crime that could be
- 3:07proven in a court room, it's any prosecutor's duty to
- 3:10pursue that. Emmer, Attorney General Bondi. On February twenty first,
- 3:15twenty twenty five, just over two weeks after you were
- 3:18sworn in as AG, you responded to a question in
- 3:21an interview about a purported list of Epstein's clients by
- 3:25saying it's sitting on my desk right now. Is that
- 3:28an accurate characterization of your statements during that interview, Bondi,
- 3:32if you listened to the entire interview, I was referring
- 3:34to the file, and I also included I don't have
- 3:37a copy of the transcript of that interview. But I
- 3:40kept going and said the question was I believe a
- 3:43list of clients, and I said, it's sitting on my
- 3:45desk to review, along with JFK files MLK files. I
- 3:50wasn't I meant the files to review. I had not
- 3:53reviewed them at the time, and I made that clear. Emmer.
- 3:57And I'm assuming you did ultimately review those files, is
- 4:00that right, Bondi? Yeah, along with multiple attorneys in my office.
- 4:05Emmer And were those files the ones that you referred
- 4:08to previously that the FBI produced to the DOJ upon
- 4:11assuming office? Answer? Yes, question, thank you, Bondi, And I
- 4:17think you clarified something for me. It was within two
- 4:20weeks of assuming office that I received those so really
- 4:23within just a week or more, I had requested all
- 4:25the Epstein documents question and during this period, upon the
- 4:30assuming office, you were interested in whether or not there
- 4:33was a client list of Epstein. Bondy yes, Emmer, and
- 4:37you directed the department to review whether there was a
- 4:39client list Bondy yes, question by Emmer. And those documents
- 4:44that you referred to that were sitting on your desk
- 4:46were those ultimately produced publicly? Bond Y yes, Emmer. A
- 4:50week later, on February twenty seventh, twenty twenty five, a
- 4:54group of select individuals left the White House holding white
- 4:56binders that contained the DOJ seal and were labeled the
- 5:00Epstein Files Phase one. Do you recall this occurring Bondi, yeah,
- 5:05and that would include the approximately I'm saying approximate three
- 5:08hundred pages, and I believe that included flight logs and
- 5:11other things. But those were the initial documents that we received. Emmer.
- 5:16Were you involved in providing these documents to these individuals?
- 5:20Bondi yes. Question and ultimately, whose decision was it to
- 5:25release the documents? Bondy ultimately mine to release as much
- 5:29as we could while protecting victim's identities. Emmer. How were
- 5:33the recipients of this Phase one release selected? Answer? We
- 5:37were seeing them that day. They were at the White
- 5:39House and we handed them the binders, and then it
- 5:42was released to the general public as well. Emmer. Were
- 5:46these recipients of the Phase one release also provided an
- 5:49opportunity to review the documents at DOJ headquarters? Bondi, I
- 5:53don't believe so, Emmer. So the label Epstein Files Phase
- 5:57one at that point, was it presumed that there would
- 5:59be a Phase two? Answer? Yeah, because I didn't believe
- 6:02that there were only three hundred approximately pages of Epstein documents.
- 6:06And I had sent the FBI a letter demanding everything
- 6:09they had, and that meant around this country on Epstein,
- 6:12and that was all we received, Emmer. And to be clear,
- 6:16was there any other release of documents prior to this
- 6:18Committee's investigation of the Epstein Files Transparency Act? Answer? Yes,
- 6:23multiple ones, multiple ones, Emmer. At this time, I'd like
- 6:27to introduce what will be marked as majority Exhibit number one,
- 6:32and I'll give you a moment to review. Attorney General Bondi,
- 6:35do you recognize this letter, Bondi? Yes, this is the
- 6:39letter that I referred to earlier, dated February twenty seventh,
- 6:42twenty twenty five, that I sent a director Patel and
- 6:46to clarify, I had said that we released approximately three
- 6:49hundred maybe earlier documents, there were about two hundred pages
- 6:53according to the letter that I sent them. Emmer. So,
- 6:56in the letter, you claim that you learn from a
- 6:58source that the FBI Field office in New York was
- 7:01withholding thousands of pages of Epstein documents, despite the FBI's
- 7:05assurances that all relevant documents had been delivered to the
- 7:09Department of Justice already. In this letter, you say that
- 7:12you only received about two hundred pages and requested an
- 7:15investigation into the document shortfall. Is that an accurate summary
- 7:20of what occurred? Answer? Yes, Emmer. Why do you think
- 7:24that this field office was withholding documents? BONDI? I asked
- 7:29Bettel to look into that. Emmer. Who told or who
- 7:33told you or brought these concerns to you that they
- 7:35may be withholding documents? Bondie, I believe it was one
- 7:39of the attorneys in my office who said. I believe
- 7:42it was a career prosecutor who said, I think there
- 7:44are more documents, and they're in New York. I don't
- 7:46believe it was an FBI agent. And then that's when
- 7:49I contacted Director Patel, who by that time had assumed office. Emmer.
- 7:55You also stated in the letter that the FBI failed
- 7:58to disclose the existence of these documents after your repeated
- 8:01requests to turn over all documents. Is that correct, Bondi?
- 8:06That is correct, and I said by eight am tomorrow,
- 8:08the FBI will deliver the full and complete Epstein files
- 8:11to my office, including all records, documents, audio and video recordings,
- 8:16and materials related to Jeffrey Epstein and his clients, regardless
- 8:20of how such information was obtained. There will be no
- 8:23withholdings or limitations to my or your access. The Department
- 8:28of Justice will ensure that any public disclosure of these
- 8:31files will be done in a manner to protect the
- 8:34privacy of victims and in accordance with the law, as
- 8:37I've done my entire career as a prosecutor. And the
- 8:40letter continues, question and you already mentioned that you discussed
- 8:45this with Director Btel. Did you also discuss it with
- 8:48Deputy Director of Bongino. Answer? I don't know if Deputy
- 8:52Director of Bongino had assumed his office at that point. Emmer,
- 8:56and pursue into your letter. Did Director Betel initiate and
- 8:59investingation into that field office? Bondi, I believe he did. Emmer.
- 9:05Do you know what the results of that investigation were. Bondy,
- 9:09I don't recall Emmer, given this letter, what other steps
- 9:13did you take to ensure the FBI turned over any
- 9:16end all of the remaining withheld documents? Bondi. I relied
- 9:21on Patel and Deputy Attorney General Blanche. Question by Emmer,
- 9:28so you yourself did not ever confirm that the FBI
- 9:31turned over all relevant documents following this incident. Answer by Bondi,
- 9:36you would have to ask Director Patel. Question At this time,
- 9:40I would like to introduce what will be marked as
- 9:42majority exhibit number two. Question Emmer, Attorney General Bondi, do
- 9:48you recognize the statement? Answer by Bondi, yes. Question what
- 9:52role did you have in issuing the statement? Bondy, this
- 9:57was I did not have a role in issuing the statement.
- 10:00I believe it was done by Deputy Attorney General Blanche
- 10:03in conjunction with the FBI. I believe. Question and for
- 10:07the record, this is the July seventh, twenty twenty five
- 10:10DOJ and FBI joint statement. The statement said that there
- 10:14was no evidence that Epstein kept a client list of
- 10:16associates whom he blackmailed or conspired with to victimize dozens
- 10:21of women. Do you know which documents the DOJ and
- 10:24FBI relied on in issuing the statement, Bondi, I do not.
- 10:28You'd have to ask Deputy Attorney General now Acting Attorney
- 10:31General Blanche and Director of Btel Emmer, prior to this
- 10:36statement being issued, where you briefed on the reviews finding
- 10:40that informed the statement? Bondi yes. Question what were you told, Bondy,
- 10:44I don't recall other than what's in the letter Emmer.
- 10:48As far as conclusions of the letter itself, did you
- 10:50have concerns Bondy at the time, No, We relied on
- 10:54the documents that the FBI and DJ received. Question and
- 10:59the letter says that there was DJ was not able
- 11:02to locate a client list. Did DOJ compile a list
- 11:05of individuals as far as its review that may have
- 11:08been associated with Epstein and Maxwell? Answer? Not, to my knowledge,
- 11:12they didn't compile a client list to my knowledge. Question
- 11:16by Emmer, So for the record, is it your testimony
- 11:19today that the Department of Justice never had a list
- 11:22of Epstein's clients or associates in its possession, Bondie not,
- 11:27to my knowledge. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap up
- 11:30right here and in the next episode dealing with the topic,
- 11:32we're gonna pick up where we left off. All the
- 11:35information that goes with this episode can be found in
