- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's up everyone.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome in to Duval of Daily.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jack McFall.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: I hope everyone's having a good one.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's your Drexical Jaguar.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's when in dominant fashion against the New York Jets.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Physically, the last month or so has contained a lot of that sentence where the Jags absolutely bulldozed any opponent in front of them.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's because it has.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: The average margin of victory over the last five weeks is 19.8, which is absolutely unheard of.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: And it really feels like we've gone to a point as fans where we kind of forget what a close game is like.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: just been so much better than their opponent and it's been fun because they're playing their best bowl of the season obviously and the best bowl that they have since 2017 and even that team wasn't consistently- I mean obviously they were consistently winning but not like this where it's been just blowing after blowing out and
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to have to keep it up with this upcoming week, traveling to Denver, you know, it'll be another test against that defense and for the Jack's defense as well.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: But that's a conversation for later in the week.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for being here.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's finals week for me.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I've been stressing, grinding that out, but can't complain.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's Christmas season and the Jack's
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Every week when I lose penalties, I've been a conversation, a big conversation in the fan base, and definitely for me, I don't care where the score is.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: He knows some of the selected wounds infuriating, and finally at the jugs were able to play a game where the penalties really were not abundant.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: They had five or sixty yards against the jugs with.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: 15 of those come against the are coming for the Brian Thomas personal foul at the go line which you you don't want to see obviously but
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: is what it is that they, you know, they overall played a good game at avoiding, you know, going backwards.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: They had the one drive at the goal-on that was completely disastrous with the penalties, the one that Trevor cut his hand on, and that actually led to the power-turn touchdown for the judge that was called back because we fell on them.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, five penalties feels like zero with the amount of flags they've had thrown on them this season.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we'll take that 10 to 10 times if they can obviously you want less than that still.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, if you're averaging about five a game, you'll take that for sure, especially, you know, next week against the Broncos that are obviously a much better team than the Jets and probably the best team objective played this year.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: We'll take that.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just say that now.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Looking directly at the offense, I think the biggest factor that went to the win and I'm sure everyone is shocked about this one.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's Trevor Lawrence.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Six touchdowns, five passing, the one rushing, 95.9 KBR, no turnovers.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: There's really no way to describe who he's played recently and especially in this one that hasn't already been said.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: career day, really a historic day.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: For him, there wasn't anything that could have possibly slowed him down out there.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh,
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: really everything the judge did worked and everything the judge did didn't work on defense which obviously is a recipe for success.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: It really was as simple as that and it's been fun seeing all the people that were coming for Trepper's head, you know, it's beginning to hear quite down and they're definitely pretty silent now.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: People seem to forget
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think I brought it up last week too, but Baker Mayfield really didn't take off under Liam Cohen until later in the season, you know, the second half of the season and even a little later than that.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: And that's exactly what we're seeing in Trevor Lawrence.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: We're seeing him in real time become a master of that Liam Cohen scheme and gain a confidence that is,
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: having him play the best in his career, even going back to the Clemson days, which is also to see and look forward to the last five games Trevor has had on the sideline in the fourth quarter.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's not something that has happened ever in his career, 100% and really for the jacks.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: think of the last time that they had their starters not in the game in the fourth quarter and that often.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's been awesome and of course there's, you know, still the people on social media discrediting it.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Telling about how it was against the jets, which is, uh, you know, it's hilarious.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: coping, staying meant to make.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: But it doesn't matter.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we all watched it.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: We all know how incredible the elements has been how superhuman Joe played that game.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: So it is what it's, you know, people are going to say what they want to say, whatever.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: All the receivers played an awesome game.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas finally being healthy has made a crazy positive impact.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: When he came back from the ankle, he mentioned how great it felt to finally be out there feeling 100% healthy.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it shows, it definitely shows.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: We had the wrist issue at the start of the year.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: He was dropping a lot of passes.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think at least I personally heard, well, he was dropping the passes and then we heard that he had like a wrist problem.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought that was kind of like,
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: way to get out of help that he was playing.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: But then he had dangle and he's been a completely different player since coming back from that ankle.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, you know, having him play that way now in the middle of December is so massive has been such a boost.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's the only guy on the jacks really that has that speeding can win downfield on those like go-rounds or like deep posts So having that is obviously massive and it's gonna be massive, you know, going into the last three weeks and hopefully the post season
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, staying with the receivers, recovery miars, containers to be, I mean, probably one of the best pieces of the jibbers I've ever acquired in an in-season trade.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's crazy to say with the impact he's had.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's provided that spark and skill set to the offense that, you know, they needed so badly.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan brought it up earlier.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I agreed that,
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: None of this is happening with electrical mirrors, it just isn't, there's ability to catch the ball in the middle of the field and enters catch everything thrown his way and not be scared as it has completely changed struggle in his confidence and that's obvious.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't think that's an argument.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: We,
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: saw the issues in the beginning of the year where ever receiver, especially in the bangles game, that's the one I always think of, where ever receiver seemed to be scared to catch the ball in the middle of the field, you know, the brand Thomas alligator arms, Parker Washington dropped a few, Johnny Brown who, you know, but, and to, um,
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: for Jacobi to come in and take those big shots and hold on to the ball.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's all in up everything in the offense, period, and I don't think you can give enough credits to James Gladstone.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: The trade has been a savior for the offense operation, and he had another great game, of course.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to need to keep playing like that at the same as Brian Thomas.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: And it's everyone really there and have to keep that up as week's progress.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, now really quick, the last thing I want to talk about on the offensive side.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's only a real negative, I think they can be taken from this game.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it's really been a theme throughout the winning streak I think, which is kind of interesting.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's the run game, ETN, and you know, the rest of the back, so it's really just been ETN because he's gotten 95% of the carries.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's had a tough time running the ball consistently.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's had some of those long runs and he's still played well, I'm not saying he has, of course he has.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, consistently having four to five yard runs has not been something they've executed very well.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: You can't only had 2.7 a carry, this game in 12 carries, and it marks the third straight game that is average lesson for a carry.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's something they got to clean up.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think against the jets it was fine because the passing game was working so well that ran the ball, didn't feel necessary, and it really, I mean, it wasn't with the way Trevor played.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and any TN had a huge impact in the passing game, obviously, the three receiving touchdowns.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're looking at the dress game, particularly, and really, I guess the stretch with how well the passing game has been, I think it's okay.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: But going to next week against the Broncos, you need to straighten it up because if you're not running the ball well and you become one-dimensional, you're gonna not have much success likely because of how good that defense is.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be able to run the ball and set up the pass.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something they probably have to clean up.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but in this game, it was there, but they still put up almost 50 points.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: So, you're not going to complain about it too much for the defense that they had a pretty dominant game this week.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: Again, 20 points given up, seven of those when the game was already decided in the fourth quarter.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, look, this was a week that they had to be down in a defense.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: They, they played an undrafted rookie quarterback and an offensive role that really doesn't have much going for them.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: So it was expected that they were going to handle business on defense and they did.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: They had the three picks of Brady Cook, one for Boston Brown, one for Ventura Miller, which was his first career I&T, which was awesome, and one for Antonio Johnson, which,
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: was an incredible play and so was the books of Brown weren't really you know those those two guys have stepped up in a massive way and I mean I guess really the entire secondary has considering the biggest whole going into the season on the defense especially or at least for me was the secondary specifically the safety is and and they've that secondary has been awesome I mean they've been
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: probably a lot because of Anthony Campanelli and the scheme, but they've been phenomenal, really.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: The past Rush played another good game, they had three sacks.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Murray on the Bliss was one Dennis Guard deck, had the spin move for one and B. J.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Green had his first career.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Finally, after we happened with the Chargers game, he finally gets his first career sack, which was great.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of hoping for more.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: out of Heinz Allen and retrieve my walker in terms of past rush, they both made some great plays in the run for both elite against the run, but in terms of past rush, they were kind of slowed down in this one.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Heinz Allen said on Eric Orange said, it's podcast before the game.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think he came out earlier this week or last week, excuse me, that uh,
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to get his, his get back against just tackle fashion after last season, where he didn't do anything.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: He, I don't really get any pressures in that game, which was the first, or the only game about season.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: He had no pressures.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: So he wanted to, you know, get back against him.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think he did.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he had no sacks.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: He had four pressures, which is a, but still a good number.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: But considering the way he's played,
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, as of late, especially, he definitely slowed him down, but, you know, in a game where Reuffins puts up 50 and you're playing Brady Cook, it's all right, you know, it ended up being completely fine.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: The run defense was still great.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they, they had a game that an NFL is a good game in terms of run defense, right?
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: But, I mean, all things consider with the level they have played, um, this is actually one of the statistically, excuse me, one of the worst games of the season, um, number wise, which is pretty funny, but, uh, it is true.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: The, the judge had 32 rushes for 130.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: for what I want to carry and a touchdown.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: The joys came into this game giving up an average of just over 80 yards per game on the ground.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: So it's definitely higher by a good margin.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: Look, all around the touchdown run, by Isaiah Davis, they were still very effective at keeping the best contained.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Bruce Hall, who is a insanely good player, I mean, he's so good.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard less than two a carry.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a big win.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to complain about that, obviously.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to harp on this performance too much, especially after a win like that.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: They played well enough, and even though statistically,
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was still very good, I mean, we all know that.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, a big exciting win, just a fun Sunday overall, you know, watch Trevor Lawrence, play the best game of his career, the best game by a quarterback this season, probably.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then right after Watchful of Rivers make his return, yeah, it was just a great Sunday.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: I hope everyone enjoyed as much as I did now.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: Good looking ahead, obviously the jacks will travel to Denver next Sunday for a huge one in terms of playoff implications, it's a big game for both teams really.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: The Denver defense is so, so good, so it'll be a big test matchup wise, and of course they'll be covered throughout the week, so say to him for that.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Wise, the jackwars are definitely healthy enough to be content with in December.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: Van Lennon is sort of for Walker Little again, and with the way he's played, I don't know how you don't keep him in, especially with the Broncos Pastros on deck, just, you know, thinking of Walker Little against that past rush, but I mean, in particular, Nick Benito, Jonathan Cooper,
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: pretty scary.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be honest.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll say, but hopefully Van Lennon keeps the job.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's definitely down enough.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: He should start.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm comfortable to say that now.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: He should be the starter for the rest of the season and was completely
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: It plays the opposite the way he has, but that's not going to happen.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you should start Beichertun, it came out, he's having surgery on his finger, which is tough.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably going to miss the rest of the regular season.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: I would guess.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: It reports that a few weeks, the row season three weeks, so probably done, which is a tough loss for the offense and for special teams, really, kick off.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, that speed to physicality will be missed, of course, expect a lot of the Quinn Allen who's already been so, so paramount for the offensive's success with his ability and past pro, he's already one of the best press perfection running back to the NFL.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's not crazy to say.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm definitely confident in his ability to take on a little bit more, maybe just a few more carries, really.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be much more than he's been doing, because it's not like two has been carrying the ball that much when he's had some games he has, but it's really been only TN.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's tough loss, but the jacks can they can handle it for sure.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that'll do it for me.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: I hope everyone enjoys the victory week.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: I said earlier, it's Christmas season, and the drivers have 10 wins.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: So it's pretty easy when joy hopefully.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, I've been grinding out finals, but I'm done for break on Friday.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: So so much exciting stuff happening around here.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: I can't complain that's for sure.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, thank you so much for watching it.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: It really means the world have a great day.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, go, guys.
