Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in scripture and relevant for today.
• 0:10
  May. 4th Contentment over clutter.
• 0:12
It is easy to believe the lie that more will finally make you
• 0:15
happy. More money, more attention, more
• 0:18
beauty, more success, more followers, more control.
• 0:22
But what if more without peace only gives you a louder kind of
• 0:25
emptiness? Proverbs chapter 15 verses 16 to
• 0:30
17 says, better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great
• 0:34
treasure and trouble with it. Better is a meal of vegetables
• 0:38
where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it.
• 0:41
First Corinthians chapter 6, verse 19 asks, Do you not know
• 0:46
that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,
• 0:50
whom you have received from God? And in that same chapter, Paul
• 0:54
calls believers to flee sexual immorality and honor God with
• 0:58
their bodies. These verses remind us that life
• 1:01
is not measured by how much you have, how much people admire
• 1:05
you, or how much pleasure you can chase.
• 1:08
A simple life with God's peace is better than a full life
• 1:11
filled with trouble. A small table with love is
• 1:15
better than abundance surrounded by hatred.
• 1:18
A body surrendered to God is better than a life controlled by
• 1:22
  pressure, appetite or insecurity.
• 1:25
This speaks directly to the world many of us live in.
• 1:29
You are constantly told to compare yourself, expose
• 1:31
yourself, upgrade yourself, and satisfy yourself.
• 1:35
But God calls you something holy.
• 1:37
Your body is not worthless. Your choices are not
• 1:40
  meaningless. Your relationships are not
• 1:43
casual to Him. You belong to Christ.
• 1:46
Contentment does not mean you stop dreaming.
• 1:48
It means you stop letting temporary things define your
• 1:51
worth. You can enjoy what God gives
• 1:54
without worshipping it. You can desire good things
• 1:57
  without being controlled by them.
• 1:59
You can choose purity, love, and peace even when the world around
• 2:03
you chooses compromise. Let's pray, Heavenly Father,
• 2:07
free my heart from chasing things that cannot satisfy me.
• 2:11
Teach me to value peace, love, purity, and Your presence more
• 2:15
  than popularity, possessions, or pleasure.
• 2:18
Help me honor You with my body, my relationships, and my
• 2:21
choices. Give me contentment that is
• 2:24
rooted in You and make my life simple, strong and full of Your
• 2:27
peace in Jesus name, Amen. What if the battles hitting your
• 2:31
family are not random and your home can become a place where
• 2:35
darkness loses every right to stay?

• 3:39
Proverbs chapter 15, verses 16 to 17 World English Bible.
• 3:45
Better is little with the fear of Yahweh than great treasure
• 3:48
with trouble. Better is a dinner of herbs
• 3:51
where love is, than a fattened calf with hatred.
• 3:54
First Corinthians chapters 5 to 6 World English Bible It is
• 3:59
actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and
• 4:03
such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles.
• 4:07
That one has his father's wife. You are arrogant and didn't
• 4:11
mourn instead that he who had done this deed might be removed
• 4:15
from among you. For I most certainly, as being
• 4:18
absent in body, but present in spirit, have already, as though
• 4:22
I were present, judged Him who has done this thing in the name
• 4:26
of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you are gathered together
• 4:29
with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, you
• 4:33
are to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the
• 4:36
flesh, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord
• 4:40
Jesus. Your boasting is not good.
• 4:43
Don't you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?
• 4:46
Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as
• 4:49
you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover
• 4:53
has been sacrificed in our place.
• 4:56
Therefore let's keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with
• 5:00
the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the
• 5:02
unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
• 5:06
I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual
• 5:09
sinners, yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this
• 5:13
world, or with the covetous and extortionists, or with
• 5:17
idolaters. For then you would have to leave
• 5:20
the world. But as it is, I wrote to you not
• 5:23
to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual
• 5:26
Sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a
• 5:30
drunkard, or an extortionist. Don't even eat with such a
• 5:34
person. For what do I have to do with
• 5:36
also judging those who are outside?
• 5:38
Don't you judge those who are within, but those who are
• 5:41
outside, God judges. Put away the wicked man from
• 5:45
among yourselves. Dare any of you having a matter
• 5:49
against his neighbor go to law before the unrighteous, and not
• 5:52
before the Saints? Don't you know that the Saints
• 5:55
will judge the world? And if the world is judged by
• 5:58
you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
• 6:02
Don't you know that we will judge angels?
• 6:05
How much more things that pertain to this life?
• 6:08
If then you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you
• 6:11
set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?
• 6:15
I say this to move you to shame. Isn't there even one wise man
• 6:19
among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?
• 6:22
But brother goes to law with brother, and that before
• 6:25
  unbelievers. Therefore it is already
• 6:28
altogether a defect in you that you have lawsuits one with
• 6:31
another. Why not rather be wronged?
• 6:34
Why not rather be defrauded? No, but you yourselves do wrong
• 6:38
and defraud, and that against your brothers.
• 6:41
Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit
• 6:43
  God's Kingdom? Don't be deceived.
• 6:47
Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
• 6:50
nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor
• 6:54
covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists,
• 6:59
We'll inherit God's Kingdom. Some of you were such, but you
• 7:03
were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified
• 7:06
in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.
• 7:10
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are
• 7:13
expedient. All things are lawful for me,
• 7:16
but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
• 7:20
Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods, but God will
• 7:23
bring to nothing both it and them.
• 7:25
But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord,
• 7:29
and the Lord for the body. Now God raised up the Lord, and
• 7:33
will also raise us up by His power.
• 7:36
Don't you know that your bodies are members of Christ?
• 7:39
Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of
• 7:42
a prostitute? May it never be.
• 7:45
Or don't you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is 1
• 7:48
body? For the two he says will become
• 7:51
one flesh, but he who is joined to the Lord is 1 Spirit Flee
• 7:55
sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is
• 7:59
outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins
• 8:03
against his own body. Or don't you know that your body
• 8:07
is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have
• 8:10
from God? You are not your own, for you
• 8:13
were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your
• 8:16
body and in your spirit, which are gods.
