- 0:00Dave Hamilton: Business Brain, episode 745 for Casual Friday.
- 0:05Dave Hamilton: I April 17th, International Day of Mastering Conversations That Matter, 2026.
- 0:13Shannon Jean: That's a long international day.
- 0:17Dave Hamilton: You know why it's long? The conversations matter.
- 0:22Shannon Jean: Oh, see, I missed that part.
- 0:26Dave Hamilton: Yes. Why don't we have a conversation that matters?
- 0:30Shannon Jean: Let's do it. Let's take the next 20 minutes.
- 0:33Dave Hamilton: I want to build a whistle.
- 0:35Shannon Jean: Now hit subscribe. We then live that charm life. Live that charm life.
- 0:40Dave Hamilton: Greetings, folks, and welcome to Business Brain, the show where you take some
- 0:44Dave Hamilton: ideas, we take some ideas, we crunch them, you crunch them, we dissect them,
- 0:48Dave Hamilton: you dissect them so that we can each keep leading those charmed lives.
- 0:53Dave Hamilton: Our sponsors for this episode include whatnot.com slash sell because WhatNot
- 0:59Dave Hamilton: will match your first $150 sold in the first month.
- 1:03Dave Hamilton: And nerdwallet.com slash brain, where you can go to learn more about this free,
- 1:08Dave Hamilton: easy-to-use platform that lets you compare real financing offers from trusted
- 1:12Dave Hamilton: lenders. You get to talk to real people. It's amazing.
- 1:15Dave Hamilton: We'll talk more about both of those in a little bit. For now,
- 1:17Dave Hamilton: here in Durham, New Hampshire, I'm Dave Hamilton.
- 1:20Shannon Jean: And I'm still out here in Northern California. I'm Shannon Jean.
- 1:23Shannon Jean: Happy Friday. I happy Friday.
- 1:25Dave Hamilton: I, I said in Wednesday's episode that the second segment that we did where we
- 1:31Dave Hamilton: sort of workshopped your idea of a, an entrepreneurial aptitude test for,
- 1:37Dave Hamilton: for lack of a sexier name for the moment. Yes.
- 1:40Dave Hamilton: And I, if you haven't listened to that episode, I encourage you to,
- 1:44Dave Hamilton: because essentially what we were doing there was what, I do whenever I am engineering
- 1:52Dave Hamilton: a prompt to have the AI help me research something, build something, whatever,
- 1:58Dave Hamilton: because what we did there, you just take what we did.
- 2:02Dave Hamilton: That now is valuable to feed to, you know, Claude for research or whatever.
- 2:08Dave Hamilton: And it will, it will turn out something valuable, but it, if you don't put a
- 2:12Dave Hamilton: good prompt in, you're kind of screwed and yeah and uh i mean well garbage in
- 2:19Dave Hamilton: garbage out like it's not magic it can't.
- 2:22Shannon Jean: At least yeah one right one of the things i like about claude is at least it'll
- 2:27Shannon Jean: query you if you don't give it enough right
- 2:30Dave Hamilton: If you put it in research or planning mode yes i got it okay.
- 2:34Shannon Jean: Okay yeah because i love that it's like okay you know let's let's ask let's
- 2:37Shannon Jean: tease out some more data so i can make this more
- 2:39Dave Hamilton: Valuable for you yeah but you know that process of
- 2:42Dave Hamilton: just kind of going back and forth with yourself with
- 2:45Dave Hamilton: the ai i mean tell it ask me questions before you
- 2:48Dave Hamilton: start your research claude will do that automatically some
- 2:51Dave Hamilton: of the other ones will too but um but that really is kind of the key uh in in
- 2:58Dave Hamilton: my opinion and what we were doing there was whittling it down to something that's
- 3:01Dave Hamilton: like okay now this is a well thought out idea now i want you to go do the grunt
- 3:06Dave Hamilton: work of the research claude like that's that's on you yeah let me know come back in 20 minutes,
- 3:11Dave Hamilton: uh i i did that this morning for someone we're
- 3:14Dave Hamilton: having a thing in our town where there's a
- 3:17Dave Hamilton: kid that wants to play uh uh it's
- 3:21Dave Hamilton: a girl that wants to play on the team that plays the game of boys lacrosse and
- 3:28Dave Hamilton: the school district is saying no uh we have a girls lacrosse team and she can
- 3:33Dave Hamilton: play on that and and the thing is if you don't know anything about lacrosse
- 3:37Dave Hamilton: you can look at these and say, well, I mean, of course, you're just playing the girls' team.
- 3:40Dave Hamilton: They're very different sports. They are two different sports that unfortunately have these two names.
- 3:47Dave Hamilton: And the mother of this kid is posting and saying the district's pushing back.
- 3:51Dave Hamilton: And I said, okay, well, if you had a moment, what I would do if I were in your shoes...
- 3:57Dave Hamilton: Is feed all this into an LLM and make the argument that there are two games,
- 4:02Dave Hamilton: one named boys lacrosse, one named girls lacrosse, and she wants to play on that game.
- 4:09Dave Hamilton: There is no girls boys lacrosse team. Yeah.
- 4:12Dave Hamilton: Just like there is no boys girls lacrosse team. Right.
- 4:15Dave Hamilton: You know, if we get the if we can just treat them as names versus dissecting
- 4:22Dave Hamilton: where they came from years and years and years ago.
- 4:24Dave Hamilton: So I'm like, you can make a really cogent argument. And I said,
- 4:27Dave Hamilton: what I would do is just feed this to an LLM. And I finished typing it out.
- 4:31Dave Hamilton: And I'm like, wait a minute, that's the prompt. Like, I've already written the
- 4:35Dave Hamilton: prompt. I'm like, I have Claude credits.
- 4:36Dave Hamilton: So I literally fed it into the prompt, turn on research mode, and I took a shower.
- 4:40Dave Hamilton: When I came out of the shower, I told Claude to make a link to the research
- 4:43Dave Hamilton: that it came up with. And I put it in the Facebook chat. And I'm like, have at it.
- 4:47Dave Hamilton: Like, if you want my prompts, let me know. I'll send it to you.
- 4:49Dave Hamilton: Like, it's fine or whatever.
- 4:50Dave Hamilton: Yeah. But it's that prompt, like starting to, and really the only reason I'm
- 4:57Dave Hamilton: at the level that I am with it, and I'm not an, I wouldn't consider myself an
- 5:02Dave Hamilton: expert, maybe somebody else would, but,
- 5:03Dave Hamilton: you know, I'm better than ground zero.
- 5:06Dave Hamilton: I've leveled up because I do it all the time and I screw it up and I get the
- 5:11Dave Hamilton: results. Got to put in the reps. Yeah, you got to put in the reps.
- 5:15Dave Hamilton: And you and I have been talking about,
- 5:17Dave Hamilton: are the podcast publishing workflow and i want to talk about this and this might
- 5:22Dave Hamilton: wind up becoming the the full episode here that's.
- 5:25Shannon Jean: Fine with me it's important
- 5:26Dave Hamilton: It's important because it they while we have lots of tools that we use that
- 5:32Dave Hamilton: assist us in publishing the show it is a very manual process for a human for
- 5:40Dave Hamilton: this show you're that human for my other two shows i am that human,
- 5:45Dave Hamilton: that you need to kind of take the MP3 and feed it into an engine,
- 5:50Dave Hamilton: and the engine gives you stuff,
- 5:51Dave Hamilton: and then you've got to take the links out of that engine and put them over here
- 5:55Dave Hamilton: and then use the transcript and maybe the show notes and feed that into an LLM
- 6:00Dave Hamilton: to write the blog post, and then I've got to copy that from there and put it
- 6:03Dave Hamilton: in the blog post. And it's a manual process.
- 6:05Shannon Jean: A lot of steps.
- 6:06Dave Hamilton: You've got to babysit it through the process. So you had said,
- 6:10Dave Hamilton: hey, I want to pass this off to another human, And we talked about,
- 6:14Dave Hamilton: and Sadie, you and I haven't talked about this yet. Yeah.
- 6:18Dave Hamilton: But I think we will by the time you hear this episode. But if not, hey, here you go.
- 6:22Dave Hamilton: We talked about having Sadie do it. And I was like, well, I need to talk with
- 6:26Dave Hamilton: her to see if she has time.
- 6:28Dave Hamilton: Because, of course, if I'm going to have anyone do this for one of my three
- 6:34Dave Hamilton: shows, I'm going to have them do it for all three of my three shows. Of course.
- 6:38Dave Hamilton: But that process got me thinking about, okay, well—,
- 6:43Dave Hamilton: How much of this do I want to automate? Do I want to be out of my like out of my review?
- 6:52Dave Hamilton: Certainly, we don't do this part of the podcast automated. We have the conversation.
- 6:58Dave Hamilton: We care about this part. We do.
- 7:01Shannon Jean: We apply the value part of the show of the whole process, right?
- 7:04Dave Hamilton: It is a valuable part of the process.
- 7:08Dave Hamilton: OK. I would argue that the title of the episode is also a valuable part of the process.
- 7:17Dave Hamilton: I have learned from my other show, from Gig Gab specifically,
- 7:22Dave Hamilton: that the episode image is a valuable part, valuable to the listeners.
- 7:27Dave Hamilton: When I say valuable, I mean valuable to the audience, a valuable part of the process.
- 7:32Dave Hamilton: And and then the blog post is probably the
- 7:35Dave Hamilton: least valuable part of it to the audience uh
- 7:39Dave Hamilton: yes right so it's like okay well if
- 7:41Dave Hamilton: i'm if i'm gonna and i started thinking well do we
- 7:45Dave Hamilton: even need a human to do this can we just you know build a thing and i want to
- 7:51Dave Hamilton: i want to have a conversation about the automation part of it and that might
- 7:55Dave Hamilton: be the second half of this episode okay because me too yeah because there's
- 7:59Dave Hamilton: something we need to talk about this in a general sense not we'll use our stuff as the example but.
- 8:06Dave Hamilton: The I need like I don't even know like I started thinking about it for for gig gab and Mac geek gab.
- 8:14Dave Hamilton: And it's like, OK, well, I know I'm a control freak, so I have to I have to
- 8:18Dave Hamilton: evaluate everything that I'm about to say to myself and now say to all of you
- 8:23Dave Hamilton: through that filter of like, am I just being a control freak?
- 8:26Dave Hamilton: Like, do I need to be the one that comes up with or approves the title?
- 8:33Dave Hamilton: Do I need to be that filter? Do I need to be the filter for the episode image?
- 8:37Dave Hamilton: Do I need to be the filter for what's said on the show?
- 8:40Dave Hamilton: Well, I already know I'm the filter for what's said on the show.
- 8:42Dave Hamilton: So I'm starting there. And that served me well.
- 8:46Dave Hamilton: That being the filter for the title has served me well. Could somebody else do it?
- 8:51Dave Hamilton: I don't know. I certainly wouldn't trust an LLM to do it blindly because.
- 8:55Shannon Jean: But, you know, I come up with the titles while we are coming up with the topics.
- 9:02Shannon Jean: So we could easily dump that. I could easily put that someplace that it could grab that.
- 9:07Dave Hamilton: Yep. That's fair. I don't know that I have ceded control of that part of this show to you.
- 9:20Dave Hamilton: I'm not. Yeah, I get it. I get it. I get it. And I trust you,
- 9:23Dave Hamilton: obviously. And I know that everyone's going to do things differently.
- 9:27Dave Hamilton: Yes, we are. This isn't just my show.
- 9:30Dave Hamilton: It's our show. And so, like, if I'm going to, and I do, but,
- 9:36Dave Hamilton: you know, just to kind of zoom out, if I'm going to trust you to say things
- 9:39Dave Hamilton: in the episode, I can also then therefore trust you to,
- 9:42Dave Hamilton: like, your judgment on the title is just as valid as mine, even if I might come
- 9:47Dave Hamilton: up with something different, right?
- 9:49Dave Hamilton: So, but like the other shows that I do, it's my judgment that is the arbiter there.
- 9:55Dave Hamilton: And I wouldn't, I, I often will like, sometimes I know what the title is going
- 10:00Dave Hamilton: to be. It's like, I got this.
- 10:01Dave Hamilton: And then I'll workshop it with AI, like, you know, beat on this from an SEO
- 10:06Dave Hamilton: angle, beat on this from this and find me something.
- 10:08Dave Hamilton: But other times I finish and I'm like, I have no idea. And I will ask it, give me 10 title ideas.
- 10:13Dave Hamilton: And yeah more more often than not nine
- 10:17Dave Hamilton: and a half of those title ideas are terrible and
- 10:20Dave Hamilton: it's like no you don't grok what i what
- 10:23Dave Hamilton: you don't have the relationship with my the
- 10:26Dave Hamilton: ai i'm saying this to yeah you don't have the relationship with my audience
- 10:30Dave Hamilton: that i do and this is part of how i communicate with my audience is the titles
- 10:36Dave Hamilton: part of how i communicate with my audience is the images and so it's like I
- 10:40Dave Hamilton: don't think it's smart for me to seed.
- 10:45Dave Hamilton: Approval of those to the AI it can create them right but I think I still need
- 10:52Dave Hamilton: to be involved in that process and I mean,
- 10:56Dave Hamilton: And would I feel comfortable having Sadie do that? I don't know.
- 11:01Shannon Jean: Is that anecdotal data in your head? Or is it anecdotal in your head?
- 11:05Shannon Jean: Or is it actually data that you can look at and say, wow, the title really drives.
- 11:12Shannon Jean: And I don't know the answer to this. Yeah. The title drives so much more traffic
- 11:16Shannon Jean: because of X or Y. And the photo.
- 11:19Shannon Jean: Because all I do now with the photos, you know, take a screenshot.
- 11:23Shannon Jean: Yeah. I look at it, take screenshot of you and I, and I put it in there.
- 11:26Dave Hamilton: And you put it in there.
- 11:27Shannon Jean: Yeah.
- 11:28Dave Hamilton: And so, to me. Well, I think about, I want to answer that question,
- 11:32Dave Hamilton: though. Yeah, yes, yeah. Because I think this is important.
- 11:37Dave Hamilton: On, we have far higher engagement on GigGab and MacGigab than we do with this show.
- 11:45Dave Hamilton: Where the comparison matters to me is with GigGab because the audience size
- 11:50Dave Hamilton: is about the same. and the show's longevity is exactly the same.
- 11:55Dave Hamilton: These were launched on the same day, you know, 12 years ago or whatever it was, 11 plus years ago.
- 12:02Dave Hamilton: And I know, like, Mac Geek Up is a great example now. I'll kind of move out.
- 12:07Dave Hamilton: The title of the episode is, somebody's probably going to yell at me for misusing
- 12:12Dave Hamilton: this term, but it's like a dog whistle with our listeners.
- 12:15Dave Hamilton: It is part of how we engage with them. It often is something ridiculous that
- 12:20Dave Hamilton: one of us said in the episode. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:23Shannon Jean: Right? That happens to us,
- 12:25Dave Hamilton: Yes. And Inside Baseball, they love that. They're like, oh, yeah, yeah, okay.
- 12:29Dave Hamilton: I understand that title now. And they see the title and they're like,
- 12:33Dave Hamilton: I want to listen because I want to know why that title is the title.
- 12:40Dave Hamilton: Like, when did it get said in the episode?
- 12:42Dave Hamilton: Was it some passing thing that really had nothing to do with the episode?
- 12:45Dave Hamilton: Or is it something else, right? So-
- 12:48Dave Hamilton: There's that part of it. And then the image on GigGab is on MacGigab.
- 12:54Dave Hamilton: The image is like always AI generated and it's it's candidly kind of a throwaway.
- 12:58Dave Hamilton: Yeah, I have fun at it. I make sure it makes me laugh and then it gets published.
- 13:03Dave Hamilton: But we don't routinely we don't talk about it in the episode.
- 13:06Dave Hamilton: It's not part of the content.
- 13:07Dave Hamilton: It's not. There's no kind of relation with GigGab. it's
- 13:11Dave Hamilton: people want to i i want to make the guest i want
- 13:14Dave Hamilton: to show the guest picture because my listeners have said i
- 13:17Dave Hamilton: want to see what the person i'm i'm hearing
- 13:20Dave Hamilton: looks like that's like oh i mean you watch the
- 13:23Dave Hamilton: youtube video but they don't right they're listening and so
- 13:26Dave Hamilton: i can put it on their screen by way of the episode image
- 13:29Dave Hamilton: but then i want to scrub through i've talked with this person for an hour i
- 13:34Dave Hamilton: have a sense of who they are i want to make them look good so i'm like scrubbing
- 13:38Dave Hamilton: and and finding that perfect image of them and then putting that out there so
- 13:42Dave Hamilton: i don't i don't even know how i'd make ai do that but well.
- 13:46Shannon Jean: You could to answer that just like the title we could have a repository of here's
- 13:53Shannon Jean: where the here's where the the image is yeah and make it this way here's where
- 13:57Shannon Jean: the screenshots of our for sure or what is something like that yeah
- 14:00Dave Hamilton: For sure no it's all doable but it was just as i was thinking about automating
- 14:04Dave Hamilton: it it was like how much of it would i still want to have control over because
- 14:08Dave Hamilton: when i automate something and that's what i hope we can talk about in the second half of this,
- 14:13Dave Hamilton: When I automate something, where I start is, what does full automation look like?
- 14:18Dave Hamilton: And then what of that scares me? And then we back off from that.
- 14:22Dave Hamilton: And then that's what we automate.
- 14:23Dave Hamilton: I don't think, I don't automate from zero up. I automate from a hundred down.
- 14:28Shannon Jean: Yeah, that's smart. Do it backward.
- 14:30Dave Hamilton: I like to do it backwards. Yeah, yeah. So, okay. So I do want to talk about that.
- 14:36Dave Hamilton: First, I want to talk about our sponsors because look, the Charmed Life doesn't fund itself. right?
- 14:43Dave Hamilton: And when you need capital to grow, the last thing you want is to wade through
- 14:48Dave Hamilton: sketchy lenders with sky high rates and fine print that you can barely read.
- 14:53Dave Hamilton: And this is what I love about the small business marketplace Fundera powered by NerdWallet.
- 15:00Dave Hamilton: It's a free, easy to use platform that lets you compare real financing offers
- 15:05Dave Hamilton: from trusted lenders all in one place.

- 15:10Dave Hamilton: spam no bait and switch just personalized options
- 15:14Dave Hamilton: that fit your business needs if
- 15:18Dave Hamilton: i'd needed this when i was scaling up it's exactly what i'd
- 15:20Dave Hamilton: use in fact i can think back to a few times where i wish i had
- 15:23Dave Hamilton: this man and and here's the the

- 16:04Dave Hamilton: And look, you're building the charmed life, grinding every day to turn what
- 16:09Dave Hamilton: you love into a real business.
- 16:11Dave Hamilton: So why are you still just listing products and hoping somebody stumbles across them?
- 16:16Dave Hamilton: Live shopping on our sponsor, Whatnot, is exploding right now,
- 16:21Dave Hamilton: folks. I've seen the shows. I've seen the rankings.
- 16:23Dave Hamilton: I've seen the revenue numbers. The number of sellers making over $1 million
- 16:27Dave Hamilton: on Whatnot has doubled in the past year.
- 16:31Dave Hamilton: You go live, you show your products in real time, buyers ask questions,
- 16:36Dave Hamilton: they bid, they buy, and they come back.
- 16:39Dave Hamilton: People selling on WhatNot sell 10 times more than on other major marketplaces.
- 16:45Dave Hamilton: And Shannon, you see this with your mastermind all the time,
- 16:49Dave Hamilton: right? Folks in your mastermind use it.
- 16:50Shannon Jean: We have a ton of live sellers that are selling on WhatNot, everything from apparel
- 16:54Shannon Jean: to pallet loads of stuff.
- 16:56Shannon Jean: I even watched some guy recently selling live crabs overnight and seafood everywhere.
- 17:00Shannon Jean: The opportunity is insane, and if you want to sell, you definitely have to check it out.
- 17:06Dave Hamilton: All right. Well, go check it out. And for a limited time, WhatNot will match
- 17:10Dave Hamilton: your first $150 sold in the first month.

- 17:24Dave Hamilton: Whatnot.com slash sell. Go check it out. I think you're going to like it.
- 17:28Dave Hamilton: And our thanks to Whatnot for sponsoring this episode.
- 17:32Dave Hamilton: All right. So we've got this idea, Shannon.
- 17:35Dave Hamilton: And it's a real idea. So it's a good workshop thing here.
- 17:39Dave Hamilton: And we want to automate it. So this is not the first time I've thought about
- 17:44Dave Hamilton: automating the podcast production workflow.
- 17:47Dave Hamilton: I have a thing for the other two shows that I do where I am the publisher,
- 17:53Dave Hamilton: you know, the person doing the publishing.
- 17:55Dave Hamilton: I mean, it could be argued that, you know, with our executive hats on,
- 17:58Dave Hamilton: we're both the publishers of this show.
- 18:00Dave Hamilton: That's not what I mean. I mean, you know, the grunt work of the publishing. Right.
- 18:05Dave Hamilton: I have a rule that I almost always follow where I don't get out of this chair
- 18:12Dave Hamilton: until the episode is published.
- 18:14Dave Hamilton: And that's because I know myself and I know that once I get up,
- 18:19Dave Hamilton: I'm going to do a million other things.
- 18:20Dave Hamilton: And then it's going to be like, holy crap, that episode needs to go live in
- 18:24Dave Hamilton: the morning. And I haven't done a thing about it.
- 18:26Dave Hamilton: Right. And then it's like my head's not in it anymore. or it's going to take
- 18:31Dave Hamilton: me twice as long to actually do the publishing because I've got to rethink and
- 18:34Dave Hamilton: immerse myself again and all that stuff. So I just do it.
- 18:38Dave Hamilton: Now, over time, though, and I've talked about that on this show,
- 18:42Dave Hamilton: I built a system that meant I could finish recording and be published live within 15 minutes or less.
- 18:50Dave Hamilton: That's not entirely true anymore. Once we started doing video and adding custom
- 18:55Dave Hamilton: episode images and all the other things that we've added over the years,
- 18:59Dave Hamilton: which I don't regret, it's now more like 40 minutes or so it takes me to do
- 19:04Dave Hamilton: it, which is still not bad.
- 19:05Dave Hamilton: When I tell people even that, other podcasters, they're like, it takes me hours.
- 19:09Dave Hamilton: And I'm like, well, there's certain sacrificial cows that you need to sacrifice
- 19:13Dave Hamilton: before you can come and join my system.
- 19:15Dave Hamilton: But um but anyway it's still
- 19:19Dave Hamilton: it's like and i try i've tried i thought when agentic
- 19:22Dave Hamilton: browsing first came on the scene i was like this is going to do it for me i
- 19:25Dave Hamilton: can just teach it to do it want nope can't not yet right someday i think maybe
- 19:32Dave Hamilton: even soon but soon might be a year away i can just teach an agentic browser
- 19:37Dave Hamilton: follow me today do it tomorrow right right that's.
- 19:40Shannon Jean: What i I was wondering, it's like, can I give that tutorial that I made to walk people through it?
- 19:46Shannon Jean: Can I just give that to some AI and say, hey, if nothing else,
- 19:50Shannon Jean: tell me how I can optimize this whole process.
- 19:55Shannon Jean: Maybe that's the first step. And how do I maybe combine some steps?
- 19:59Shannon Jean: And, you know, it's got to be some, I would hope there's some hooks in some
- 20:04Shannon Jean: API, maybe into the services that we use that can automatically pull that data.
- 20:09Shannon Jean: Instead of having to cut and paste this or, you know, do that.
- 20:13Dave Hamilton: Yes. So many of the services that we use have APIs.
- 20:17Dave Hamilton: And that's where I started having the exact same thought. It's like,
- 20:21Dave Hamilton: okay, well, in theory, I do all of this in a browser.
- 20:25Dave Hamilton: Therefore, you, the AI, because I've let you control my browser, you can do this too.
- 20:31Dave Hamilton: And the answer is, no, it cannot.
- 20:34Dave Hamilton: Not yet. But so I started thinking, same thing you did. Like,
- 20:38Dave Hamilton: okay, what are the APIs? And it was like, okay, wait a minute.
- 20:41Dave Hamilton: I could Claude code up, Vibe code, you know, an app, a web app,
- 20:48Dave Hamilton: I mean, we use a service called Auphonic that we upload the audio to,
- 20:54Dave Hamilton: and we upload some other very rudimentary metadata to it and the image.
- 21:01Dave Hamilton: And then it crunches everything together, uploads it to our server,
- 21:06Dave Hamilton: and gives us URLs that we can then put into WordPress.
- 21:10Dave Hamilton: Okay, great. So all I got to do is I got to find an API for that Auphonic service.
- 21:16Dave Hamilton: I got to find an API for WordPress and I need to glue all that together somehow. Right.
- 21:24Shannon Jean: Like they're going to talk to each other.
- 21:26Dave Hamilton: Yeah. And, and have an engine that kind of oversees that process and,
- 21:29Dave Hamilton: and does whatever we need it to do at the right times it needs to do it.
- 21:34Dave Hamilton: It's like, all right, well, I'm pretty sure Authonic has an API.
- 21:37Dave Hamilton: And if it doesn't, I know Georg, the guy that, you know, one of actually,
- 21:40Dave Hamilton: I know both of the partners over there at Authonic that run that business.
- 21:43Dave Hamilton: I mean, you know, and they're all about automation. Like that's, that's their business.
- 21:47Dave Hamilton: So if they, I'm pretty sure they already have an API, but if they don't,
- 21:51Dave Hamilton: they would like, they would love this idea.
- 21:55Dave Hamilton: And then also WordPress has APIs.
- 21:59Dave Hamilton: That would be fine. And I was like, okay, like I could do this.
- 22:03Dave Hamilton: Like, this is fine. And I could link it with an LLM to maybe do the,
- 22:09Dave Hamilton: you know, get the, um, the, the transcript of it.
- 22:14Shannon Jean: Yeah. And create a summary of it.
- 22:15Dave Hamilton: Use that to create the summary instead of just the show notes that I create,
- 22:18Dave Hamilton: even though the summaries from the show notes generally work really well.
- 22:22Dave Hamilton: But, you know, give me something that I can review and because that matters.
- 22:26Dave Hamilton: And it's like, make sure it's not saying that we did something that we didn't
- 22:29Dave Hamilton: do because it misunderstood. Okay, fine.
- 22:32Dave Hamilton: And then, you know, coming up with the 10 titles and me picking one or workshopping,
- 22:37Dave Hamilton: you know, one or whatever.
- 22:39Dave Hamilton: And then the image can be the same thing. And depending on, we talked about
- 22:42Dave Hamilton: the formulas for the images that we have for different shows.
- 22:44Dave Hamilton: And it's like, okay, well, that's fine. We can, you know, we can come up with that.
- 22:48Dave Hamilton: You can, you, the AI can do the rest.
- 22:50Dave Hamilton: I was like, vibe coding this would be actually fairly straightforward right now.
- 22:55Dave Hamilton: I mean, it would take a little time, but I know how to massage these prompts.
- 23:00Dave Hamilton: And I know how to do it. And then not only do we get it for this show and my
- 23:05Dave Hamilton: other two shows, but now I can add that to BackBeat Media's offerings and be like, hey,
- 23:12Dave Hamilton: podcaster, if you're part of our system, you get to do this too.
- 23:17Shannon Jean: Get access to this.
- 23:18Dave Hamilton: Yeah. So. I think it's good. I mean. I like it.
- 23:22Dave Hamilton: The thing is, the frustrating part is I know that a year from now,
- 23:25Dave Hamilton: this system doesn't need to exist because the automation in the browser will
- 23:30Dave Hamilton: all just be there and it'll just do it.
- 23:31Dave Hamilton: You just tell it what you want to do and it'll do it but yeah for today that
- 23:36Dave Hamilton: you've got to vibe code it you need to write the the the actual code that's going to do this.
- 23:41Shannon Jean: Yeah i i agree and i think that i mean even just the summaries have been a big
- 23:47Shannon Jean: big help right but i think the summaries it would write i think because now
- 23:51Shannon Jean: we have to wait for the you know a few other things but i think the um
- 23:57Shannon Jean: I think the output might be better. I think the quality of it,
- 24:04Shannon Jean: the depth of it might be better.
- 24:07Shannon Jean: And that it's worth, you know, trying to, and I, I like you pointing out the,
- 24:12Shannon Jean: well, you know, the title's important and the image.
- 24:14Shannon Jean: And I think those are solvable by like, okay, let's decide on the title,
- 24:18Shannon Jean: put it in some place that the,
- 24:20Dave Hamilton: That the AI can just grab it. If I had one web engine where I could,
- 24:27Dave Hamilton: put everything in up front and then
- 24:31Dave Hamilton: have it prompt me like alright here's my 10 title ideas what do you think and
- 24:35Dave Hamilton: be able to kind of go back and forth with it and be like yes that's great or
- 24:39Dave Hamilton: no way and here's the image is this good or do you want something different
- 24:44Dave Hamilton: yes or no and you can talk with it and then the same with the summary,
- 24:51Dave Hamilton: if I could just do that all in one place now
- 24:54Dave Hamilton: well now i don't need
- 24:57Dave Hamilton: to sit here for 40 minutes correct right i feed it in and i get up and walk
- 25:03Dave Hamilton: away and then it does it takes the time to do whatever it needs to do and then
- 25:08Dave Hamilton: comes back and says all right answer these four questions and and i'll publish
- 25:13Dave Hamilton: it for you that's what we want yes.
- 25:16Shannon Jean: Yeah and again back that 40 minutes
- 25:18Dave Hamilton: Well and and then i can time shift it right like i don't I don't have to just sit here.
- 25:24Dave Hamilton: I can finish the show and spend 13 seconds pointing at the right files and then I'm done.
- 25:33Dave Hamilton: I can come back later and evaluate the write up and all the things because I've
- 25:40Dave Hamilton: already given it what I need to give it.
- 25:41Dave Hamilton: The problem now is I have to wait until certain parts are done before I can do the next part.
- 25:50Dave Hamilton: And I know you have to do that, too, Shannon. I also know that...
- 25:54Dave Hamilton: This conversation had about a two-hour gap in it, maybe a 90-minute gap in it,
- 26:00Dave Hamilton: because my audio went completely sideways on my computer.
- 26:04Dave Hamilton: So Shannon is no longer here as we are finishing this episode.
- 26:08Dave Hamilton: However, we were finished with our conversation anyway, so it's all good.
- 26:13Dave Hamilton: And, yeah, it's time. So thanks for hanging out with us, folks. Thanks for listening.
- 26:19Dave Hamilton: Thanks for all the fun stuff.
- 26:23Dave Hamilton: And make sure you know you actually you know what go to businessbrain.show slash
