Transcript
- 0:02I realize I'm interrupting your steady stream of ninja sleeping
- 0:06puppies and pirated music videos, but it is time to fill
- 0:11these tubes with a tribute to Herm Erica.
- 0:16How do I make this tribute thing work?
- 0:39Welcome to Habawa, a muppet quiz show brought to you by
- 0:44toughpigs.com. It's your favorite quiz show
- 0:47that's not like the others here. Muppet fans, Muppet
- 0:51Professionals, and everyone in between competes for fabulous
- 0:56prizes. And to see who's this week's
- 0:59toughest pig, I'm your host Becca Petunia of toughpigs.com.
- 1:05Today on Hobowa, it's time for a salute to all nations, but
- 1:12mostly America. That's right.
- 1:15It's a glorious 3 hour finale that.
- 1:19Hang on. OK, yeah, I'm getting a getting
- 1:23a call from producer Johannes. I've only got a minute and a
- 1:29half. Well, hopefully we can
- 1:31compromise and find some place in between three hours and a
- 1:36minute and 1/2. And today our contestants will
- 1:40be answering questions about countries all over the world.
- 1:44And that includes America. You know, so many countries have
- 1:49their own version of Sesame Street, and at a time The Muppet
- 1:52Show was aired in almost 108 nations.
- 1:57The Muppets are some of the most international performers of all
- 2:00time. Meanwhile, I've been to a grand
- 2:03total of 1 country that wasn't the United States, but I know a
- 2:09lot about America. Well, if I want to learn about
- 2:13other countries, you'd think I'd need to talk to a world traveler
- 2:16like Global Grover. However, there's another way I
- 2:21can learn about the world, and that's through Muppet Wiki.
- 2:25Because as always, the questions we'll be dealing with today were
- 2:29written by me with help from that amazing Muppet resource,
- 2:33Muppet Wiki. And Speaking of, let's agree to
- 2:37play fair today. Please don't look at Muppet,
- 2:40Wiki or any other resource during this game.
- 2:43Cheating is against the American way and also the British way.
- 2:49Anyway, before we travel the world, I'm going to need to see
- 2:53your passports. That's why you'll be introducing
- 2:56yourselves in our first game. To tell a face.
- 3:02Contestants, buzz in to answer 3 questions about yourself.
- 3:08Whoever buzzes in first will get introduced first.
- 3:11Ready. There we go.
- 3:15All right, that's Danny. So Danny, the first question
- 3:18that I'm going to ask you, what's your name?
- 3:22My name is Danny Horn. All right, Excellent work.
- 3:24That is correct, right. Second question, you know,
- 3:29listen, we all we know so much about your history with The
- 3:32Muppets. Danny Horn of course founder,
- 3:36founder of Muppet Zine and tough pigs and cofounder of Muppet
- 3:39Wiki. But Danny, what kind of muppet
- 3:42projects are you currently working on?
- 3:45My current Muppet project is a Twitter feed and a Facebook feed
- 3:49called Muppet Pictures where I just have a whole bunch of
- 3:52Muppet pictures that I've collected and I want to share
- 3:54them with the world. And so I'm sharing them three
- 3:56pictures a day and enjoying that very much.
- 3:59Danny, I got to say I love that feed.
- 4:02I feel like I've mentioned this on your podcast or on my podcast
- 4:06or yelled it at no one, but I love that feed.
- 4:11You know, when when I first saw, and I didn't know it was you and
- 4:15I saw there was an account called Muppet Pictures that had
- 4:18followed me and I was like, it's going to be the same 12
- 4:22pictures, isn't it? It's going to be, it's going to
- 4:24be, it's going to be that same picture of of just like, OK,
- 4:28it's the stock image of Fozzy Bear and his head is weirdly
- 4:31shaped like an egg for no reason, like in that new Fozzy
- 4:34Bear stock photo they use. But no, it's not.
- 4:38It's it's consistently surprising and like high quality
- 4:41images that even I haven't seen. It really, really brightens up
- 4:45my day to see it. I am.
- 4:47I'm. I'm trying to make Twitter.
- 4:50A little bit more of a decent place to to spend time.
- 4:54This is my contribution. We appreciate it and you're
- 4:58working on others other projects as well.
- 5:00Let's, why don't you, why don't you tell us a little bit about
- 5:03those right at the start. All right.
- 5:05I also have a blog and a podcast called Superheroes every day
- 5:09working right now especially on that podcast.
- 5:12It's a It's a pod comedy podcast about pivotal moments in
- 5:16superhero movie history where we take a look at.
- 5:20Superhero movie every week and split it up into three acts
- 5:24according to the Sid Field three act structure and then walk
- 5:27through the whole movie analyzing it and making witty
- 5:31and intelligent conversation along the way.
- 5:34Becca has been on an episode that was about Fantastic Four,
- 5:37Rise of the Silver Surfer, and she'll be on another episode,
- 5:40which we're gonna record pretty soon.
- 5:44Yeah, who knows if it'll be out by then, But by the time this is
- 5:47out, you can find superheroes every day on Spotify or anywhere
- 5:51where you get your podcast. And last question that I'm going
- 5:54to ask you, which Muppet do you think should be president of the
- 5:57United States? Which?
- 6:00Muppet should be president. I think it would have to be Big
- 6:06Bird because he looks great in a tie and he's he's, he's very
- 6:11positive and that was the first Muppet that I thought of.
- 6:17Did you write that unproduced script about Big Bird becoming
- 6:20president or running for president?
- 6:22I did not. It would be a good idea though,
- 6:23right? I don't know.
- 6:26Maybe. People like to vote for tall
- 6:28people and he's and he's the tallest one there is.
- 6:30Yeah, they OK. You're right.
- 6:31They actually should have produced that script.
- 6:33OK. All right.
- 6:35Well, Danny, that's 20 points for all of those correct
- 6:40answers. So that puts you in the lead.
- 6:44But before we move on, our second contestant JD What's your
- 6:49name? My name is JD Hansel, right?
- 6:52And as has been established, the JD stands for John Denver and
- 6:56The Muppets of Christmas together.
- 6:58I like to like to remind everyone of that.
- 7:00I didn't think that joke was going to stay in that first
- 7:03episode. And not only did you then,
- 7:06you've referenced it repeatedly and it makes my heart very
- 7:08happy. I think it's hilarious.
- 7:10John Denver and The Muppets of Christmas together.
- 7:12Hansel So, JD, You're also a writer for Tough Pigs, as well
- 7:17as working on some podcast stuff.
- 7:20What's your history with The Muppets?
- 7:23Well, you know, Becca, it's funny because in many ways it,
- 7:25like, directly parallels a lot of Danny's career with Muppet
- 7:31fan stuff. In 1992, I actually started my
- 7:34own Muppet fanzine, but mine was called well, OK, I I used the
- 7:38other part of the Word magazine. So.
- 7:41So it was. It was.
- 7:42It was called Mag a Muppet, but I need everyone listening to
- 7:45understand that at the time. At the time, that didn't mean
- 7:49what it means. Today the context was totally
- 7:51different. Nobody could have foreseen what
- 7:53that was going to become. Fortunately, when the Internet
- 7:56came along, I left that all behind and started a Muppet fan
- 8:00site. It would it.
- 8:01It was called Fund thepigs.com. And I know through Modern Lens
- 8:05that sounds like a Copaganda website.
- 8:07And yes, most people thought that's what it was even then.
- 8:11I know the slogan Fuzzy and Blue Lives matter.
- 8:13Maybe it hasn't. Aged well, but in that
- 8:15particular cultural moment I thought it was clear that I was
- 8:19talking about getting more money behind Muppet Projects at a time
- 8:22when the Henson Company and Sesame Workshop were really
- 8:25struggling financially. Now it is true that the fund the
- 8:29Pigs Forum became the hotbed for certain.
- 8:32You know, the development of certain hateful movements and
- 8:36demonstrations that I'd rather not talk about right now.
- 8:38But I didn't know all that was going on because I was focused
- 8:40on my next project. I've gotten really into puppet
- 8:43building and was trying to document all the materials that
- 8:47The Muppets were made out of, so those of us building replicas
- 8:49would know what foams to use, how to make the eyes, which
- 8:53which fabrics would stay in good shape for a long time, and which
- 8:57fabrics would pill. So that was my intent when I
- 9:01started Pilled Wiki, which I could not have predicted would
- 9:04become the most popular information sharing site for Alt
- 9:06Red conspiracy theories to date. I really didn't expect the
- 9:09editors to take it in that direction.
- 9:12But honestly, by the time I started my current fan project,
- 9:15the Twitter account Tucker Pictures that that was actually
- 9:19just a few months ago and I knew exactly what I was.
- 9:21It's your fault. Yeah, that's on you.
- 9:25So that's me. Apart from that, I ride for
- 9:28tough pigs and host the Tough Pigs Podcast.
- 9:30What is it called? The Great Muppet Fanda panel.
- 9:33Yeah, I I frequently said that's my favorite of the Tough Pigs
- 9:36podcast. I know.
- 9:37I heard you saying that the other day when I was listening
- 9:40to you on another podcast. That's true.
- 9:42I heard you starting to say that moving right along was maybe
- 9:45your favorite. I was like, oh, am I losing my
- 9:46status? And then you said, actually,
- 9:48Jade, this is my favorite. I'm like, yes.
- 9:51I mean, I love moving right along dearly.
- 9:53I love that podcast. But my gosh, that that title of
- 9:58Becca's number one? Oh, it means a lot to me.
- 10:01It upsets other people and I feel genuinely bad for them.
- 10:03But oh, it means no, I got, I got to be consistent.
- 10:06And I don't know, I guess the third question I'm going to ask
- 10:09you is what Muppet do you think should be president of the
- 10:12United States? Looking around the room, looking
- 10:15around the room, Constantine look, I just feel like I don't
- 10:23know what would happen. But whatever would happen would
- 10:26happen quickly and explosively. The problem is that Constantine
- 10:30is Constantine's. I don't think he's a U.S.
- 10:32citizen. All right, all right.
- 10:35All right. Looking around the room, looking
- 10:36around the room. The Swedish Chef.
- 10:39OK, he's he could be naturalized.
- 10:43Who knows? You just keep choosing the
- 10:45European ones. All right.
- 10:47Well, either way, JD, I'm going to give you 20 points as well.
- 10:51Way too many deducting points. We'll see.
- 10:56Nice work, both of you, and it sounds like you're ready to
- 11:00board this plane and fly to our next destination, a game we like
- 11:04to call. Can you guess?
- 11:07Like I said earlier, at its height, The Muppet Show was
- 11:10aired in almost 108 countries. You see, we just learned that
- 11:15The Muppet Show is being shown in 108 different countries.
- 11:19Uh oh, better get out your old army uniform.
- 11:21Yes, with 108 angry countries, there's bound to be trouble for
- 11:27more than 108 countries or less. Honestly, we've never gotten a
- 11:32definitive answer. There's a whole Muppet Wiki
- 11:35article about how we don't know how many countries the Muppet
- 11:38Show aired in, but we can be pretty sure that the show aired
- 11:42in at least 70 countries. Because the Muppet News man gave
- 11:47us a specific list in a word search in an old Muppet Fan Club
- 11:52newsletter, I'll I'll post a link.
- 11:54In this game, I'm going to give you a Muppet themed clue.
- 12:00The answer to each question will be a country where The Muppet
- 12:05Show aired during its original run.
- 12:09Your goal is to buzz in and name the country.
- 12:13So I'm going to give you a Muppet themed clue and your goal
- 12:17is to buzz in and name the country that I'm looking for.
- 12:21All of these are countries where The Muppet Show was aired during
- 12:25its original run. Now each of these questions is
- 12:29worth 2 points. Please wait until I finish
- 12:33reading the clue to buzz in so our world travelers at home can
- 12:37play along. Ready.
- 12:38Let's fly question one. Muppet performer Carmen Ozbar is
- 12:43from this country. Danny.
- 12:50Is it Mexico? It is Mexico.
- 12:52Question two. A massive amount of Muppet
- 12:56productions were filmed in this country, ranging from Fraggle
- 13:00Rock to Emmett Otter's Junk band Christmas to The Cube.
- 13:08Danny, Canada, it is Canada, correct?
- 13:13JD do you appreciate that cube? I was about to say I didn't know
- 13:17if it was okay for me to jump in and say thank you for shouting
- 13:19out the cube, my fave. I know Question three.
- 13:22When Big Bird and Barkley went to this country, they met the
- 13:27bamboo Princess Danny by a second.
- 13:35Japan, that is Japan. I wrote about that special it's.
- 13:39Incredibly bizarre, those those Big Bird International specials
- 13:44and like, I feel like don't eat the pictures kind of fits into
- 13:47that. It's not not international, but
- 13:50the vibes of him helping the ancient Egyptian boy are
- 13:53basically the same. Yes, absolutely the same.
- 13:56They're so weird, but also so good and so special.
- 13:59And I just, I mean, honestly, I love anytime they get the
- 14:02puppets out in the world. But also, yes, it's very
- 14:07bizarre. It's very strange.
- 14:09I if I remember, I think the bamboo Princess turns into a she
- 14:12becomes a phoenix at the end. It's been a minute.
- 14:15The Phoenix is a big bird in China, yeah.
- 14:18Oh, the Phoenix is in China. OK, I remember the Princess
- 14:22Question 4 on Muppets Tonight. A variety of Muppets, including
- 14:27Zelda, Rose, Slim, Wilson, and Animal sang a song about how
- 14:32they've got a lot of coffee in this country, JD.
- 14:40Brazil. It is Brazil.
- 14:42They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil.
- 14:44Question 5/2 of The Muppets on this country's version of Sesame
- 14:50Street are Pinot and Tommy Danny.
- 14:58Is it Denmark? I'm feeling like it must not be
- 15:01Denmark. It is not Denmark.
- 15:03I'm sorry, JD is. Going to kill me, Germany.
- 15:13I'm sorry, the correct answer is the Netherlands.
- 15:17I I was so afraid that you would start asking questions about
- 15:21International Sesame Street because.
- 15:24There's so much of it. There aren't as many as you
- 15:27would think because I was like there's some people who are
- 15:31really good at this, but a very small portion of our of our
- 15:35community. So I have only a couple
- 15:38questions about. That I thought I was better at
- 15:40it than apparently I am. I will say that long pause,
- 15:44which I might have added it out, but that that pause was me
- 15:48trying to remember if Denmark and the Netherlands were the
- 15:51same country, because I knew the Netherlands was sometimes called
- 15:56something else and I was like. Wait, is it Denmark?
- 16:01No, it's it's Holland. Yeah, was was what I was
- 16:04confused about. Listen, I know a lot about The
- 16:07Muppets. Less about Denmark.
- 16:09Actual geography. Question 6 on Bear in the Big
- 16:13Blue House. Bear's special friend Ursa is
- 16:17from this country, Danny. Spain.
- 16:24It is Spain. Killing it on this, I really
- 16:27thought it would be far behind by this point.
- 16:30Question 7 on The Muppets 2015 TV show This is the Country
- 16:36where Miss Piggy found Gloria Estefan the Penguin.
- 16:44Danny. The Argentina.
- 16:46It is Argentina, Danny. You are.
- 16:50You are. You are crushing it today.
- 16:52No, it's amazing. Question 8.
- 16:56Squiggly A worm from this country.
- 16:59Oh. Dear Squiggly, a worm from this
- 17:04country won the 1 yard dash in the Worm Summer Games.
- 17:14Danny, do you have a guess? Is it Holland?
- 17:16It is not Holland. How about the Netherlands?
- 17:20I knew as soon as as soon as you said squiggly, I was like, I'm
- 17:23out on this one. I guess I should take a guess,
- 17:26yeah. JD, do you have a guess?
- 17:29I can't remember the names of any countries in this moment.
- 17:32I'm so nervous right now. I didn't think I'd be nervous.
- 17:40Cuba. I don't know, OK.
- 17:42It's not Cuba. That's where they That's where
- 17:44the cube was filmed. Yeah.
- 17:46Oh, no kidding. You'll never get out.
- 17:49You'll never get out of the Cuba.
- 17:50Yeah, it's true. It was.
- 17:53The correct answer was Kenya. They were doing a Kenyans are
- 17:57good at racing Joke. I don't know Sesame Street?
- 18:02Sometimes you're good. Question 9.
- 18:06According to reporting from Slate magazine and The Atlantic
- 18:11to people from Sweden, The Swedish Chef sounds like he is
- 18:16from this country, JD. Norway It is Norway, correct?
- 18:28Question 10 in Muppets Most Wanted Jean Pierre Napoleon's
- 18:35Interpol headquarters are in this country.
- 18:42Danny is. It France.
- 18:44It is not France. You're leading me on.
- 18:49Isn't it Germany? It is not Germany either.
- 18:53You guys are missing a country that is kind of between them,
- 18:57Switzerland. Oh, oh, that makes sense.
- 19:01Question 11. This is the country where
- 19:03Farscape was filmed, Danny. It's either Australia or New
- 19:14Zealand. I'm going to go with Australia.
- 19:16It is Australia. Wow.
- 19:18Well done, well done. I was around.
- 19:21Back then, I saw JD basically just getting up, getting up from
- 19:25his chair, and leaving as soon as I mentioned Farscape.
- 19:28It's true. If you if you mention it a third
- 19:30time, I disappear. What are you?
- 19:32What are what are you going to do the next time you see Ren
- 19:36question twelve Former president of the Jim Henson Company
- 19:41Charles Rivkin was the US ambassador to this country.
- 19:48You got us both on this one. I know we're not allowed to have
- 19:55the Muppet wiki or any other. Reference for this.
- 19:58And I have like a world map up in another window, just so I can
- 20:02remember what other countries look like and where they are.
- 20:05You can you can look at a world map for JD.
- 20:08This is. Allowed we're that has to be
- 20:10allowed for both of us. We're allowed a world map.
- 20:12OK, I do remember where where the world is.
- 20:17That makes one of us. My my guess is, is Uruguay.
- 20:21It is not Uruguay. Good guess, I guess, JD.
- 20:26I can think of a country. Just name a country.
- 20:30Name a country. Paraguay is just sitting right
- 20:32there. South Korea.
- 20:33It's also not South Korea. The correct answer is France,
- 20:37the president. The president of the Jim Henson
- 20:40Company, or the former president Charles Rifkin, was formerly the
- 20:45US ambassador to France. Do we know what he's doing now?
- 20:49I don't know. Being rich and not funding
- 20:54Muppet productions. Anyway, nice work in that round
- 21:00and figuring out those 12 countries.
- 21:03And I guess we have to assume that the other 96 countries
- 21:06didn't matter. Anyway, let's move on to our
- 21:11next round, which we call What's the name of that name?
- 21:18I think I got it now. We all know the names of our
- 21:26favorite Muppets. Kermit, Rolf the Dog, Big Bird,
- 21:33Stop with the Camel, Benny Rabbit.
- 21:36This is easy. But in other countries, our
- 21:39favorite friends often have different names.
- 21:44So in this round I'm going to name a country and give the name
- 21:51that country's productions use for a well known Muppet.
- 21:56And I will say these are all well known Muppets.
- 22:00They are all I would say either. Top ten at best, yeah.
- 22:05Absolute main characters. Some are maybe like well known
- 22:08secondary characters, but I'm not going to throw any
- 22:12characters that you guys don't know, so let me start there.
- 22:17If you can guess The Muppets English name from those clues,
- 22:22you will earn three points. If neither of you can name the
- 22:27Muppet, I will give you a clue about what Muppet series they're
- 22:32from. If you get it right after that,
- 22:36you'll earn two points instead. If that's still not enough, I
- 22:40will name their original performer in the American,
- 22:46English, Canadian, whatever you want to call it, version of The
- 22:50Muppets. If you get it after all of those
- 22:53clues, you will earn one point. Please tell me that the step
- 22:58after that is you will do an imitation of the character.
- 23:01Yes, if it comes to that. I would gladly have zero points
- 23:05for that. That'll be fun.
- 23:06So for instance, if I said in Israel they call him Mar Ashpah,
- 23:13you'd say Oscar the Grouch. If neither of you knew that, I
- 23:19would first say that it was a character from Sesame Street and
- 23:22you'd each get to guess again. Or if that didn't work, I would
- 23:27say that he was originally performed by Caroll Spinney.
- 23:31And then you'd have two choices. It's not going to be pickle
- 23:36puss. Anyway, I promise most of these
- 23:41are easier than Mar Ashpah. Are we ready to rename some of
- 23:46our favorites? Here we go.
- 23:48Oh Creature and Chinnua Media Blancher Esogamer.
- 23:54Here Creature and Chinni cap deso for Bali Bobo bobbido
- 24:01question 10. And I should say, before I even
- 24:04get into question one, I'm going to do my best to pronounce
- 24:09these. I speak French very poorly and
- 24:15Hebrew very poorly, and I am going to be trying my best with
- 24:22the other pronunciations. I believe in you.
- 24:25I would love for people to to to let us know on the Tough Pigs
- 24:29forum or anywhere else if there's a better way that I can
- 24:33pronounce these names. But we're diving right in with
- 24:36#1 in Brazil. They call him, call me, call me
- 24:46JD. I'll throw out a random guest to
- 24:50get us started. Kermit the Frog.
- 24:52It is not Kermit the Frog. I'm sorry, Danny.
- 24:54Do you have a guest for Colme Cole?
- 24:57Me. I do not.
- 24:59We have the. OK.
- 25:01Well, let's the next. Yeah, if I give you the next
- 25:03one, JD will have the chance to buzz in again.
- 25:06That's OK. I accept it.
- 25:09The character Colme Colme, he's from the Brazilian version of
- 25:14Sesame Street. Danny, I'm.
- 25:17Going to say Cookie Monster, it is the Cookie Monster, correct?
- 25:21Because colmet is of course the Portuguese word for food.
- 25:29It's also the Spanish word for it.
- 25:33Eat, eat. Yes, eat.
- 25:35So his name is literally Eat Eat, Question 2IN Italy, she's
- 25:42called Aurora Bella JD. Miss Piggy, I'm sorry, it's not
- 25:52Miss Piggy. Danny, do you have a guess?
- 25:55Betty Lou. Not Betty Lou either.
- 25:59I'll give you guys a clue. Character from Sesame Street,
- 26:05JD. Prairie dawn.
- 26:08It is Prairie dawn. Because, of course, if you know
- 26:12your Latin, Aurora is the Latin word for.
- 26:18Nice Dawn. Good call.
- 26:22Question 3. Some of these you will be able
- 26:24to get that way. Not many of them question 3IN
- 26:28Poland they call him Borjo. I don't know why I made this one
- 26:34the third one, as if this was an easy one.
- 26:37The first two are like based on root words you might remember
- 26:41from high school foreign language class.
- 26:43JD, do you have a guess? Grover.
- 26:47Sorry. It's not Grover.
- 26:48Danny. A guess.
- 26:50Say Ernie. It's not Ernie either, but it is
- 26:52a Sesame Street character. You guys are right about that.
- 26:59Danny, guess. How about Bert?
- 27:03It's not Bert either. JD I guess.
- 27:10Telly. It's not Telly either.
- 27:13This is going to give it away. But this, this character in the
- 27:20American version of Sesame Street is currently performed by
- 27:23Ryan Dillon, JD Elmo. It is Elmo.
- 27:30Now, am I required to bring out the Elmo impression, or is that
- 27:32only if we lose on all of them? I mean, it's up to you.
- 27:35If you want him to say something in Polish, that's your call.
- 27:39Well, I can't do that. You got me there.
- 27:41All right, skip it, skip it, skip it.
- 27:42We'll come do it when we come to it.
- 27:43Question four. In Germany, his first name is
- 27:48Honic Tao. First name JD.
- 27:57Fozzy Bear. It's not Fozzy Bear, Danny, I
- 28:01guess. Guy Smiley Not Guy Smiley
- 28:05either. This is a Muppet Show character.
- 28:08Monique Dao, JD. I'm just so fascinated by the
- 28:15fact that you said first name. That's really interesting, I'm
- 28:21aware. Because there is that, that that
- 28:23interview, was it on Arsenio Hall?
- 28:27Where Kermit? Says Muppets don't have last
- 28:30names, but that's not always true.
- 28:33The biggest counter example I I can.
- 28:35The most obvious counter example I can think of is Floyd Pepper.
- 28:38So that'll be my next guess. Is not Floyd Pepper.
- 28:51That was a long shot on the American version of The Muppet
- 28:55Show. Good guess of a Muppet who has a
- 28:42last name though. Danny, do you have a Muppet
- 28:45Show? Guess.
- 28:47JP Gross. It's not JP Gross either.
- 28:50OK, third. Or I guess British, because
- 28:59that's where it was filmed. This gets confusing on the
- 29:01American version of The Muppet Show.
- 29:04This character, Honique Dao, is played by Dave Goles Danny.
- 29:11Bunsen honeydew. It is Bunsen Honeydew Honique,
- 29:14though. It's beautiful.
- 29:18And his full name is Doctor Honique Dao Bunsen Brenner,
- 29:23which is why I had to leave off the The Last Name Question 5 in
- 29:28Mexico. He's Figueredo Danny Grover, not
- 29:36Grover, JD. Ernie.
- 29:40Not Ernie. This is a Muppet Show character.
- 29:45Figueredo. Danny.
- 29:49I'll say Fozzy, it is Fozzy. Great question. 6IN Israel he's
- 29:55Bents JD Bert it is Bert well. Done.
- 30:05It feels like it feels like we the the two of us are throwing
- 30:12darts into a black hole and then getting a message later about
- 30:15what planet. And many of these many of these
- 30:18kind of have clues in the names. Question 7.
- 30:24In Canada, he's Magre Blue, Magre Blue JD.
- 30:34I don't know if we already have this character, but Grover, it
- 30:38is Grover. I assumed it was a play on the
- 30:41color blue and it is a play on the color.
- 30:44Blue I did in my imagination, run a whole horrible fan site
- 30:50about characters who are fuzzy and blue and why we need to
- 30:52support them, so I should know. I I have a question, Canada.
- 30:56Yeah, according to your wiki. Why does Canada?
- 31:00Why doesn't Canada call him Grover?
- 31:02I guess French Canadian productions.
- 31:05Oh. Geez, I mean magra Blue is
- 31:08French. And French?
- 31:10Yeah. Well, Speaking of France,
- 31:12question eight In France, they call him Hyacinth.
- 31:16It's a. Beautiful name.
- 31:18It is a beautiful name that I know I'm pronouncing poorly,
- 31:22Danny. I'll say big Bird, not Big bird.
- 31:25Good guess. It would be nice though,
- 31:26wouldn't it? Yeah, cute name for him.
- 31:28JD You can name your big bird Hyacinth.
- 31:34How about the Great Gonzo? Not the Great Gonzo.
- 31:37This is a Sesame Street character Hyacinth Danny.
- 31:44Mr. Snuffleup, I guess. Good guess, no JD.
- 31:48Count von Count Good guess, no. But I will say, like
- 31:51Snuffleupagus and Count von Count, this character is most
- 31:56famously performed by Jerry Nelson Hyacinth, JD.
- 32:02Hairy monster. It is hairy monster.
- 32:05His name is Hyacinth in France. So cute.
- 32:08I like that. He's got like, this cute, really
- 32:11soft name that's actually fun Question nine in the United Arab
- 32:15Emirates. He's Anise.
- 32:21Danny, I'm. Going to say Ernie correct.
- 32:24Yay. Well done, question 10 in
- 32:28Hungary. He's Lotte Fouty Danny.
- 32:37Swedish Chef Sorry, incorrect JD Guess.
- 32:42Permit the frog. Good guess, no.
- 32:44This is a Muppet Show character, Loti Fouty.
- 32:48And by the way, again, pronunciation terrible.
- 32:51I'm doing like an Italian accent there.
- 32:52Like Loti Fouty. Danny.
- 32:58I'm going to say either Statler or Waldorf.
- 33:02It's not really fair to let you guess too, but I will say
- 33:04they're both wrong. JD.
- 33:08Ralph the dog Incorrect. This character originally
- 33:12performed by Richard Hunt. Scooter.
- 33:17Correct. Danny, it is Scooter.
- 33:19Narrowed that down. Yeah, we have two more.
- 33:22I get like .8 of a point for them, two more or really one
- 33:25more at a bonus. So question 11 in Spain.
- 33:29He's Bumbo, JD. I can't remember whether or not
- 33:39we've done this character. I feel like we have, but maybe
- 33:42not. I'm going to try Big Bird.
- 33:43We haven't done Big Bird, but it also isn't Big Bird.
- 33:47Good guess though. Danny Guess.
- 33:51So what country is it? Spain.
- 33:53He's Bumbo. I'm.
- 33:55Going to say Cookie Monster incorrect.
- 33:59This is a character from Fraggle Rock.
- 34:02Oh, Danny Gobo Fraggle Incorrect JD.
- 34:10Uncle Traveling Man. Well, I will say this is the
- 34:13other day of goals Character JD. Uber Fraggle Boober Bombo is
- 34:20Boober. I was.
- 34:21So come on. I know I was so close to saying
- 34:24Boober, that was where it was going to go.
- 34:25But then I thought, wait a second.
- 34:27That sounds like what you would name a character who's supposed
- 34:31to be very silly and not very bright, and someone who's
- 34:35bumbling around everywhere and I'm like, that's it.
- 34:38That's a decent name for Uncle Matt.
- 34:40He's clownish in the right way for that name.
- 34:42But no, no, no. That's.
- 34:43A solid argument, actually. I think you should go to Spain
- 34:46and have that conversation with them.
- 34:48Go to Spain in 19/19/83, yeah. Look, all you all you could do
- 34:54is ask, right? They might say no, Okay, miss
- 35:02every shot. You don't take the last bonus
- 35:05question for this round. What is unique about Kermit the
- 35:09Frog's full name in Portuguese speaking countries?
- 35:14No other country has this element to his name except those
- 35:20in Portuguese countries. Danny, they both start with the
- 35:26same letter. What do you mean by they both
- 35:29Kermit and Portugal? The the word for Kermit and the
- 35:34word for frog start with the same letter.
- 35:36I'm sorry, not correct. I mean, actually, they.
- 35:39They do, but it's not unique. I don't know if they do, but I
- 35:42don't think it's unique that they do.
- 35:44But anyway, that's not the answer JDI guess.
- 35:49I I'm because I'm only thinking of the same thing that Danny was
- 35:52thinking of. Not that specific detail, but
- 35:54another angle to the same thing. Like, I know of this other name
- 35:59that Kermit used to have, and so is it the the.
- 36:08Are they the only places that used to have a a different name
- 36:11for Kermit other than Kermit? No.
- 36:14There's a couple, they call him Renee in France, but no, only in
- 36:21Portugal and Brazil is Kermit a toad.
- 36:29His name translates to Kermit the toad in Portugal and Brazil.
- 36:35I would not have gotten that one good question, and Kermit
- 36:38wouldn't like that one. Because he's weird about that
- 36:42sometimes, right where where he's like, no, I'm a frog, Toads
- 36:45give you warts. Like, he really seems to think
- 36:48badly about toads. That joke must not quite work in
- 36:52the Brazilian dub of The Muppet movie.
- 36:56Anyway, we're going to move on to my favorite game beat.
- 37:03The time. That's right.
- 37:05It's our classic headtohead round beat the time.
- 37:09Today we're thinking about Muppet Show guest stars.
- 37:13The Muppet Show was always an international production.
- 37:17It was the brainchild of Americans, but filmed and
- 37:20produced in the United Kingdom. As a result, a lot of the show's
- 37:25guest stars were from the United States or the British Isles, and
- 37:30this tradition carried over to Muppets Tonight.
- 37:34However, on both shows, certain guests were from other parts of
- 37:39the world, and in this round we'll explore that starting with
- 37:44JD. Name a Muppet Show or Muppets
- 37:48Tonight guest star who wasn't born in the United States or on
- 37:54the British Isles. So either on the Isle of Great
- 37:57Britain, the Isle of Scotland, Scotland, Ireland, N Ireland or
- 38:07the United States. Be careful, some of these are
- 38:10trickier than others. We'll go back and forth between
- 38:14the two of you to see who can name more.
- 38:18If you can't remember one or get the answer wrong, your opponent
- 38:22will have a chance to steal. In total, there are 15 Muppet
- 38:28Show or Muppets Tonight guests who fit this criteria.
- 38:34This is sorry, I'm already nervous.
- 38:38Muppets Tonight is a show I like.
- 38:41Actively avoid watching. Well, I will say most of them
- 38:45are from The Muppet Show. OK, JD, can you name a guest
- 38:50from a country that isn't one of the ones I listed?
- 38:57Charles as Navoir. Charles as navoir correct.
- 39:02Danny. Senior Wences.
- 39:05I am sorry. Oh no, no no.
- 39:08Senior Wences is on here. I was like what I was like so
- 39:11surprised. Ji was like, is he really
- 39:15American JD? I mean it's it's possible.
- 39:19It's all possible. Jean Pierre Rampal Jean Pierre
- 39:25Rampal? Correct.
- 39:27Danny Rudolph Nureyev. Rudolph Nureyev, Correct, JD.
- 39:35How much time do I have? Because I already feel like I'm
- 39:37out and that's. Really concerning out as well.
- 39:42This episode is so hard it. Really.
- 39:47Is. And I'm still shaken by the jump
- 39:49scare from Jerry Nelson's voice a few seconds ago.
- 39:52You know, you hear that part where like.
- 39:54The whole the tone of the episode changes when that that
- 39:57voice comes in, yes. The time I get startled.
- 40:01That you absolutely you absolutely heard here live in
- 40:04studio. Yeah.
- 40:05And I don't add on to the podcast later.
- 40:08This is all done live, folks. Like we have a studio audience
- 40:12here. The chair.
- 40:14Comes over and hands us points somehow.
- 40:19Sorry, I'm stalling. Just I appreciate.
- 40:23That something you want? Yeah, Excuse me.
- 40:25It's Danny, OK, Danny, do you have one?
- 40:28I have elke summer, Elke summer correct.
- 40:31Good JD good. Back to JD.
- 40:35Actually, Danny, you you can. You had to steal because JD
- 40:37missed. You can give another one.
- 40:39No, I got that's. I'm let, let, let, why don't we
- 40:43let JD go? OK, JD.
- 40:46If neither of you can get it. I'll just call the game here.
- 40:51It just feels. Like we should get better than
- 40:52five. Right.
- 40:54But it's it's also a frustrating ground because like I can think
- 40:59of guest stars who who very much have it as part of their brand
- 41:05that they also know other languages.
- 41:07I don't like to then make the assumption that I can tell where
- 41:11they were born. That's what I'm struggling with.
- 41:13JDJDI promise no one's going to, no one's going to call you.
- 41:18No one's going to call you racist if you incorrectly know
- 41:22what country Best Star is from. All right.
- 41:25If if you, Becca, I'm. I'm considering you the
- 41:29authority on all of the opinions of all of the Internet.
- 41:33So I'm trusting you here when I guess, Rita Moreno, I was
- 41:36considering Puerto Rico to be part of the United States.
- 41:40It is. Part of the United States and so
- 41:42I don't get the point and so we're good and do this is
- 41:44exactly the situation that I was worried was going to move on
- 41:48move on. That's not a wait wait, hold on,
- 41:53I need to check when was it. You're dragging on when Puerto
- 41:58Rico became part of the United States.
- 41:59I'm trying. I'm trying to.
- 42:00Appreciate this technicality. Well, it was well before.
- 42:02Thank. It was well before the month of
- 42:04time. Oh yeah.
- 42:05No. Yeah.
- 42:05It was well before Rita Moreno. I have any other guest?
- 42:10Juliet Prouse. Juliet Prouse.
- 42:13Is technically born. Do you know JD?
- 42:19I don't know. What's it going to be, Danny.
- 42:22Do you know or are you just guessing?
- 42:24I It's where was where was Juliet Pross born?
- 42:28India. There you go.
- 42:31OK, when it was controlled by Britain but not part of the
- 42:36British Isles, so I will give it to you.
- 42:39I knew that I was totally aware of all the bio details of.
- 42:44Juliet Pross Life. I'm pretty sure she was born in
- 42:47the night Wrong. Yeah, born in Bombay, all.
- 42:50Right. You never know, JD.
- 42:52A guess. I'm I'm kind of flipping through
- 42:58every guest or on either show that I can think of.
- 43:00I'm really struggling to remember who the heck was on
- 43:02Muppets tonight. I will tell you both, there are
- 43:05only two Muppets Tonight guests listed.
- 43:09Granted, there were fewer of those guests in general.
- 43:17I'll click on on Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, I'm pretty sure
- 43:21they're. Definitely British.
- 43:22They're definitely extremely British, Johnny Cash, Also
- 43:25American. They'll throw.
- 43:26That out there. All right, I'll help you.
- 43:34Out. You probably throw in some
- 43:35tricky ones where like you'd never know that this person
- 43:41wasn't just like the most like I just do You guys, do you both
- 43:46want me to give you a hint? Yes.
- 43:49OK. One thing that you guys are
- 43:51forgetting is while it is often confused for America or England,
- 43:58I did not say Canada is not allowed.
- 44:03You're giving me a lot of credit for acting like I was confused
- 44:06about this. OK.
- 44:08But there's there's certain you're.
- 44:10Leaving all of the Canadians, there's certain guests who are
- 44:13like some of the most famous Canadians.
- 44:17Céline Dion not a guest on either of these shows.
- 44:22I think I'm gonna have to call this.
- 44:25All right, let me. All right, I'm gonna.
- 44:26I'm. Gonna Rick Moranis.
- 44:28Rick Moranis, Correct, Danny. Thank you.
- 44:31Thank you for the Canada. Rich Moranis is Canadian.
- 44:37Oh, it's why he played the moose in Brother Bear.
- 44:43That's all I needed was Canada. You got any other countries?
- 44:46Why don't you? Actually, if you can like, throw
- 44:47the country? Oh sure.
- 44:49Well, let me just double check some of these countries.
- 44:52I should have written it down beforehand, but OK, we've got so
- 44:58the third one on my list from Switzerland.
- 45:02Got me on that one. 4th one is Canadian.
- 45:07Orson Welles, not the movie. OK, I'm just going to call.
- 45:11All right. Yeah, I'm good.
- 45:12All right, so the Swiss, the Swiss one is, of course, Mum and
- 45:16Shawn's. They're from Earth.
- 45:20That's that's on us. Space is not part of the United
- 45:24States either. Rich Little, who is, of course,
- 45:29Canadian. We should have been, Danny.
- 45:33We should have been thinking of a way to not have to take credit
- 45:37for rich little this whole time right here.
- 45:42Helen Reddy from Australia, Spike Milligan, born in India.
- 45:49Victor Borgia, definitely not American.
- 45:54And Murray, who was from Canada as well, the.
- 46:00Canadians Doug Henning was Canadian.
- 46:04Martin Short was Canadian and was on Muppets Tonight and
- 46:09literally is so Canadian that at Disney World he hosts the Canada
- 46:15ride. And by ride I mean room and that
- 46:22was the 15. But I also would have accepted
- 46:26Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, R2D2C3PO and and and count von
- 46:35Count. Yes, all right.
- 46:39I was think I was. I was also thinking like, is
- 46:42there is there a trick here with the Muppet performers where I
- 46:45can think of one of them And it did.
- 46:46I did that. Got you nowhere, yeah.
- 46:49Wow, Becca, you are so many steps ahead of us.
- 46:54Well, listen, so maybe that game.
- 46:56Listen, OK, out of 15, you guys together got 7.
- 47:01So you got half of them, that's something.
- 47:05Thank you. We feel better.
- 47:07That's something. Yeah, I feel fantastic.
- 47:09And maybe, maybe you weren't thinking about the four guests
- 47:13who were from outer space. You know, I I mean.
- 47:21Is is this is this the point in the program where we get to slow
- 47:24down and and take care of Katie's feelings?
- 47:26I I think I'm okay. I think I'm having a great time
- 47:29here, Becca. I'm pretty sure, but I don't
- 47:33know. You wouldn't.
- 47:34Can't tell from the scoreboard. I don't care what anyone says,
- 47:39I'm having a great time. What's the scoreboard?
- 47:45Are you allowed to know that? Yeah, sure.
- 47:48Why don't I share the scoreboard?
- 47:50Listen, it is, it's a pretty close game we have right now.
- 48:01OK, so Danny has 46 points and JD has 37 points, so it's only a
- 48:10difference of nine. And I will say, I will say we've
- 48:15been saluting other nations, but now it's time to salute America.
- 48:22At times with this, I am proud to be an American.
- 48:28Thank you. You know, there's so many things
- 48:31to love about the United States. Everything the United States is
- 48:34perfect and everything about it is wonderful.
- 48:38Did you read my old fan site? I did.
- 48:40I really try to stay away from people who read that.
- 48:43And if there's one thing we know, not only is the United
- 48:47States perfect, but the most perfect thing about the United
- 48:50States are our country's politicians.
- 48:54So that's why we are going to play a special round of mystery
- 48:59guests themed on US presidents. I'm going to describe a time The
- 49:08Muppets mentioned, referenced or featured a U.S.
- 49:13President in one of their productions.
- 49:16Your job is to buzz in and identify the president.
- 49:21So for instance, if I said forgetful Jones imagined meeting
- 49:26this president after he discovered the Martians you'd
- 49:30buzz in and say Ronald Reagan, That happened.
- 49:39I believe Scott posted that clip on Twitter a while ago.
- 49:43But anyway, I do apologize to our international listeners.
- 49:47This round is about us and each of these questions.
- 49:52And you know what? Let's mix it up.
- 49:55Each of these questions is going to be worth.
- 49:58A random number of points, 3 points.
- 50:01Back open a random number generator, please.
- 50:05Oh no, no, no. Each of these questions is worth
- 50:07the amount of points that this president is.
- 50:10How's that? Would you guys be happy with
- 50:12that? If the answer is.
- 50:14If the answer is, you know Abraham.
- 50:17Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln probably gets a
- 50:19pretty high score. Well, no, no, no.
- 50:21I just mean, like, so, OK, so James Buchanan was like, the
- 50:2315th president. So like.
- 50:25You get 15 points. You get 15 points.
- 50:27If the answer is James Buchanan, you want me to.
- 50:29You want me to mix it up that way, JD?
- 50:32You know, do whatever you want. I'm here, I've accepted my fate
- 50:35and I'm happy. I'm very happy.
- 50:37There were three points each. I will make them worth 3 points
- 50:42each because I want to make this anyone's game.
- 50:46Oh, so it's out of kindness to me.
- 50:48All right, that's fine. Question one.
- 50:51In the Paula Abdul episode of Muppets Tonight, a robot version
- 50:55of this president terrorizes the studio JD.
- 51:03I think Danny got in before me. Oh, it was Danny.
- 51:06Look at that. JDI.
- 51:07Appreciate your sportsmanlike conduct.
- 51:10That's very patriotic. Danny, I will also say, I think,
- 51:15did you buzz in right before she said the final word or right
- 51:18after? Because you might just have a
- 51:20faster signal than me. But like that buzz in was coming
- 51:23in just as I was hearing the end of the word, Well, we're not
- 51:26going to recalibrate the buzz you're.
- 51:27Right, Danny. Danny, what president was this?
- 51:32I I cannot tell a lie it was. It was Abraham Lincoln, correct?
- 51:37And and thank you, JD for your sportsman like conduct Question
- 51:412. Grover helped this U.S.
- 51:44President win a significant military victory.
- 51:52JD. George Washington.
- 51:54It is George Washington, correct?
- 51:57He heard that George Washington wanted to surprise the the
- 52:01Hessian soldiers, so he brought balloons.
- 52:05Question 3. Joe Pesci played a parody of
- 52:09this president in Sesame Street's 25th Anniversary
- 52:13Special JD. Was it Donald Trump?
- 52:21It was. Donald Trump wasn't president at
- 52:24the time, of course. But question 4, Wolf, the dog in
- 52:30an episode of The Muppets, asks this trivia question, Who
- 52:35succeeded President William McKinley after he was
- 52:38assassinated in 1901? Hint it wasn't a dog.
- 52:43Canine. Americans still can't.
- 52:45Hold public office and we're supposed to answer the the,
- 52:49yeah, answer the trivia question.
- 52:50That trivia question Who succeeded President William
- 52:52McKinley after he was assassinated in 1901?
- 52:54The dog things are misdirect. Don't I say Danny?
- 53:02Yeah. Danny Roosevelt, It is Theodore
- 53:05Roosevelt, correct. Wow.
- 53:08Question five in The Muppets. The 2011 film Kermit has this
- 53:15president's number in his Rolodex of celebrities.
- 53:23JD, President Carter. It is President Carter, Question
- 53:30Six in a Sesame Street sketch about the American Revolution.
- 53:34Don Music plays a frustrated version of this president.
- 53:43Danny is. It Thomas Jefferson, it is
- 53:45Thomas Jefferson. Question Seven.
- 53:49In a different Sesame Street sketch about determining what
- 53:53should be the national bird, Ernie portrays this president
- 53:58who remained levelheaded when making his choice of the
- 54:01national bird, JD John Adams. Correct.
- 54:12Question 8. And I guess I'll give you 6
- 54:15points if you get both of these. These two presidents appear as
- 54:19members of the Billy Crystal Band on Muppets Tonight.
- 54:28Danny. Bill Clinton is 1.
- 54:30Bill. Is one of them.
- 54:35And there's a second president. There is a second president in
- 54:38line with with Bill Clinton in that in that scene.
- 54:43George Bush is not George Bush. I will give you 3 points.
- 54:48Thank you, JD Do you want to guess the president?
- 54:53I mean there are only so many it.
- 54:56Was 1996. Yeah, you normally don't like it
- 55:01when when the answer to one question has already been the
- 55:04answer to another question. So I'm going to try to just
- 55:07think of someone different. Look at JD Medic Gaming.
- 55:13I know. I do that.
- 55:14I know. And yet, right now, here's the
- 55:16thing that's great that I can do that.
- 55:18But right now, I'm blanking on the name of every President
- 55:24Constantine. It was Constantine.
- 55:26It was Ronald Reagan. Nice.
- 55:29My meta gaming was very wrong. Well, technically he was the
- 55:33answer to the answer to my practice question.
- 55:36But yes, question nine. He was the only president to
- 55:40write for Muppet magazine. Danny.
- 55:49Barack Obama. Incorrect.
- 55:53Would have been nice. I don't even know how to
- 55:57interpret the question. There's like there's there's
- 56:01really no trick here. It's it's pretty genuine.
- 56:05Okay George HW Bush. The correct answer is Gerald
- 56:11Ford, who in the fall 1983 issue of Muppet magazine, he
- 56:18contributed to Robbins Roundup, an article featuring memories
- 56:22from Celebrities School days. Ford shares sentiments about his
- 56:26high school teachers and laments on his sports activities at
- 56:30South High in Grand Rapids, MI. That is adorable.
- 56:35There is a screenshot here of from Robbins roundup.
- 56:43Not. I believe a long running feature
- 56:48of Mother magazine cuz I didn't remember Robin's roundup ever
- 56:51existed. Well, I will say this was the
- 56:544th issue and care to guess who's on the cover for 150
- 57:00points? 4th issue because I don't think
- 57:06you can get this. It's Olivia Newton John or
- 57:10Bronson Pincho. It is neither.
- 57:13JD, do you have a guess for 150 points?
- 57:17Looking around the room, looking around the room.
- 57:21Herb Alpert, No. The special was Fozzie meets the
- 57:25Fonz. Henry Winkler also included
- 57:28School Memories with Carol Burnett, Pat Benatar and more.
- 57:32Gerald Ford didn't make the cover of School Memories and the
- 57:36Wizard of Oz spoof, which I bet was funnier than the other time
- 57:40The Muppets did that. Question 10.
- 57:45This president is actually Caroll Spinney's ninth cousin,
- 57:49twice removed. It's on your wiki, Danny.
- 57:55I'm certain that it is it's ninth cousin.
- 57:59His ninth cousin twice removed George W Bush.
- 58:07It is not George W Bush, JD. George HW Bush?
- 58:15OK. Well, they'd both be related at
- 58:18that point. True, but not the same you gave
- 58:22it. You didn't ask who's related,
- 58:24you asked for a very specific no, weirdly enough, the right
- 58:30answer. Yes, Barack Obama.
- 58:34Oh, all right then. That's beautiful.
- 58:36I wonder if they ever hung out. Big Bird.
- 58:41Big Bird. He must have visited the Obama
- 58:43White House. Yeah.
- 58:44No, because they. Because Michelle was doing all
- 58:46kinds of things. Yeah, but it was Vogel doing in
- 58:50person appearances by then. Because Carol was already
- 58:53pretty. Yeah.
- 58:53I mean, why don't you nap? It's it's got to be.
- 58:57It's got to be. On the wiki somewhere, it's got
- 58:59to be on your wiki. Well, believe it or not, you
- 59:01both scored the same amount of points that round, meaning that
- 59:07the score is right now Danny with 58 points and JD with 49
- 59:13points. Honestly, it's still very close
- 59:16difference of nine points and it is now time for the Anything in
- 59:23the World Prize game. As you know, in this round you 2
- 59:28will be able to ask me anything you want as long as it's about
- 59:32Muppets. If you stump me, you will earn
- 59:3615 points. So let's actually start with
- 59:41Danny. So Danny, you can ask me
- 59:44anything in the world. All right.
- 59:48My question is about America. That's part of the world.
- 59:52Yes, it is. Senator Jill McCarthy is
- 59:54remembered for his anti communist crusade in the early
- 59:571950s. Which began with a famous speech
- 59:59where he announced I have here in my hand a list of known
- 1:00:03communists working in the State Department.
- 1:00:05Whatever this question is, I love it.
- 1:00:08Backup what? Muppet has also announced I have
- 1:00:11a list and what was on that list?
- 1:00:16I am so glad you didn't know this immediately.
- 1:00:20Sam the Eagle, Yes, words that you aren't allowed to say on.
- 1:00:27ABC TV because of the Muppet sitcom.
- 1:00:31No, as you are half correct. OK, but there's no.
- 1:00:34Half critical. OK.
- 1:00:36What was the context? It is a Buppet show sketch,
- 1:00:41probably like second season I would say, he says.
- 1:00:44I have a list and he is complaining about Namby Pamby
- 1:00:47conservationists and the list is the list of animals that the
- 1:00:52Namby Pamby conservationists want to protect and it includes
- 1:00:56bald eagle. That's that.
- 1:00:59That's right. Well, that's 15 points for you,
- 1:01:05Danny. JJD, do you have a question?
- 1:01:07Do you have a question about communists?
- 1:01:12Well, you know, if you've read my work, you know my
- 1:01:14interpretation of Fraggle Rock. I do Becca in Fraggle Rock Back
- 1:01:20to the Rock, episode 6 of season one.
- 1:01:25I'm going to start calling it season one already.
- 1:01:29It's the Legend of I See Joe. In that episode of Back to the
- 1:01:34Rock, you see pictures of a number of prominent, like famous
- 1:01:40people in Doc's workshop, including some, like very famous
- 1:01:44prominent American political figures.
- 1:01:47Only one such person is seen twice in Doc's workshop Appears
- 1:01:54in two pictures. Who is that famous American
- 1:01:59political figure? Is it Ruth Bader Ginsburg?
- 1:02:03I'm pretty sure she is there. She's there.
- 1:02:07Doc's wall of she rose. She is there, not twice.
- 1:02:13OK, the correct answer was. The correct answer is Michelle
- 1:02:17Obama. There are two Michelle Obama's
- 1:02:20on Doc's wall of she rose. All right.
- 1:02:23Well, that actually would have been my second guess, but it was
- 1:02:25not my first guess. So, JD, you also get 15 points,
- 1:02:31meaning that you again got the same number of points, meaning
- 1:02:35that again, Danny, you have 73 points.
- 1:02:39JD you have 64, meaning Danny is up by 9:00, which brings us to
- 1:02:46our last game, which is, of course, say the word.
- 1:02:52As you know, in Say the Word, you are able to wager any number
- 1:02:57of points. The winner gets those points and
- 1:03:00the loser loses them. It's kind of like Final
- 1:03:03Jeopardy, except you will get to hear the question before you
- 1:03:07wager. So here's the question.
- 1:03:12The most famous American is probably George Washington.
- 1:03:17As mentioned, he's been played by an Anything Muppet in a
- 1:03:20sketch with Grover. However, throughout the years
- 1:03:25and through different Muppet media, many Muppets have
- 1:03:28impersonated him. However, not as many as you'd
- 1:03:32think. In fact, by Muppet Wiki's count,
- 1:03:375 Muppets have impersonated George Washington, although some
- 1:03:42have done it more than once. Each of you is going to send me
- 1:03:48a list of five Muppet characters.
- 1:03:52And a points amount that you would like to bet whoever gets
- 1:03:57more Muppets correct will win their points back.
- 1:04:06So there are. 5 Muppet characters who have impersonated
- 1:04:11George Washington who have dressed up as George Washington.
- 1:04:14I'm not counting anything Muppets. 5 Muppet characters who
- 1:04:20have dressed as George Washington at some point in
- 1:04:22Muppet media. What I need you guys to do is
- 1:04:28send me a list of five Muppets as well as your point bet and I
- 1:04:34will just say score again. Danny has 73 points.
- 1:04:39JD has 64 points. OKI have an answer from Danny.
- 1:05:00Okay. Like I said, there are 5 correct
- 1:05:05answers to this question. JD Let's start with you, JD.
- 1:05:10You bet first double Infinity points, and then I said that you
- 1:05:15had to bet an actual number. So you changed that bet to 10
- 1:05:20and you wrote which five Muppets?
- 1:05:27Miss Piggy was the one I was certain of, and then I guess
- 1:05:30Cookie Monster? Elmo, Ernie.
- 1:05:32Bert. Okay, Miss Biggie is definitely
- 1:05:35correct, as is Elmo, who dressed as George Washington and sang a
- 1:05:41song from Hamilton with the actor who was playing George
- 1:05:45Washington at the time. And you are also right that Bert
- 1:05:51was George Washington on that amazing Sesame Street
- 1:05:55bicentennial calendar. Cookie Monster and Ernie were
- 1:06:00never George Washington, at least not according to Muppet
- 1:06:04Wiki. So three of yours are correct
- 1:06:09Danny. You also bet 10 points and you
- 1:06:15listed 5 Muppets. Danny.
- 1:06:21Which five Muppets did you guess?
- 1:06:25I guessed Miss Piggy. Kermit the Frog, Bert, Ernie,
- 1:06:30and Grover. Ernie, as we established, is
- 1:06:33wrong, but Miss Piggy and Bert are right.
- 1:06:47It was. Grover also was never George
- 1:06:39Washington in any media. However, Kermit the Frog was
- 1:06:45meaning. It was on the for a state
- 1:06:50quarters promotion as well as Baby Kermit.
- 1:06:54Was George Washington on Muppet Babies?
- 1:06:57So you also did note Mount Rushmore from The Muppet Show
- 1:07:01Sex and violence. I think that doesn't.
- 1:07:05Doesn't that's the actual George Washington Muppet?
- 1:07:09Doesn't count. All right, very well.
- 1:07:12You also bet 10 points and you also got 3. 3 answers right?
- 1:07:17You both get 10 points. Meaning also got the same about
- 1:07:25the points once again. Fate.
- 1:07:28It must be fate. Now what does this tell you?
- 1:07:31What this What this tells you is that my career as a Muppet fan
- 1:07:36continues to directly parallel that of Danny Horn.
- 1:07:42It all it all comes full circle and one.
- 1:07:44Step behind me. How could you guys forget that
- 1:07:475th Muppet because Kermit, Miss Piggy, Elmo and Bert?
- 1:07:51Were were the the the ones that you you got between you?
- 1:07:57But of course the 5th is Elvis. Yeah, I, I, I OK.
- 1:08:05I remember now from the show that I actively avoid watching.
- 1:08:09Those great moments in Elvis history.
- 1:08:14Well done, well done. Yeah.
- 1:08:17Anyway. So our final score, which has
- 1:08:20remained with a difference of nine points since we ended our
- 1:08:26third round, I don't remember. But the winner with a score of
- 1:08:3183 points is Danny Horn. Great.
- 1:08:35Thank you very much. So congrat take about, take
- 1:08:38about. Thank you, Danny.
- 1:08:40Congratulations. You are this week's toughest pig
- 1:08:47it. The mantle once again falls to
- 1:08:49you. You.
- 1:08:50You gave it up in like 2005, yeah.
- 1:08:54And you just got it back. Hooray for a whole week.
- 1:08:56Yeah, for a week. So anyway, you win your choice
- 1:09:01of a magnet of Harry Truman or a magnet of Sam the Eagle.
- 1:09:09I'm going to say Sam the Eagle, all right.
- 1:09:12Unless that. Unless that was Harry Truman,
- 1:09:14which is Harry Monster dressed up as Harry Truman.
- 1:09:17Well, I didn't make that. But now I kind of want to okay.
- 1:09:22I will take the same. The same.
- 1:09:24And I and I will treasure it. Thank you so much.
- 1:09:26You're welcome. And that brings us to the end of
- 1:09:28another one. So first of all, JD, thank you
- 1:09:34for being such a good sport. I'm.
- 1:09:37I'm sorry that you you were. Getting a little frustrated, but
- 1:09:42you bounced back and hey, apologize.
- 1:09:44I've had a good time. I've had a great Becca.
- 1:09:47This is always fun. I appreciate it very much.
- 1:09:50I'm. I'm very happy.
- 1:09:51And you brought it full circle with with with your your great
- 1:09:54parallel lives. So, JD, where can people find
- 1:10:00you if you wish to be found on most socials?
- 1:10:04I'm at J D11PC. What socials will those be by
- 1:10:09the time you hear this? Obviously, who's to say it's
- 1:10:12been a wheel? We'll find out.

- 1:11:14But also that Bad Henson bio, bad Henson Bistro stuff is

- 1:11:21Yeah. Thank you, Danny.
- 1:11:22I didn't know that you'd seen any of that stuff, so I.
- 1:11:25Oh yeah, no, I thought they were hilarious.
- 1:11:27Yeah, I didn't realize with you. Yeah, I know I wasn't totally
- 1:11:30public about it because I went way off the rails with that
- 1:11:34Henson bio recently, but the Bistro?
- 1:11:38Actually, it was the Bistro that that really impressed me.
- 1:11:41That like how long you were able to keep that rolling, Yeah.
