- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is Spoiled Me
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one Piece, the piece that we still haven't found.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Chapters six' eighty two through six eighty four. Breaking through
- 0:22Speaker 1: enemy lines, Lufy and Zoro launched a counter attack with
- 0:26Speaker 1: a rumbling of the ground, The god of destruction giant
- 0:31Speaker 1: Peaka descends and gathering into a powerful front Loofy and
- 0:37Speaker 1: a group of brutal warriors. In these episodes, Peka is
- 0:46Speaker 1: really a force to be reckoned with, but also he
- 0:51Speaker 1: has a weak point that is genuinely very hilarious. Normally,
- 0:58Speaker 1: when Mofy can't help black things, I'm like, get a
- 1:01Speaker 1: hold of yourself, Loofy, But this is one time where
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm like, I get it, buddy. Welcome to spoil Me,
- 1:27Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you
- 1:31Speaker 1: very much to Florian for commissioning this episode. Florian is
- 1:35Speaker 1: here in the chat with me and hopefully can help
- 1:39Speaker 1: me with some of the parts of this. I want
- 1:41Speaker 1: to point something out, so I think last episode I
- 1:43Speaker 1: mentioned that it looks like one Piece was going to
- 1:46Speaker 1: be taken off Hulu. Their expiration date is gone now
- 1:50Speaker 1: on the episodes, so I think that it's going to
- 1:53Speaker 1: be staying on Hulu for a while longer, so that's wonderful.
- 1:58Speaker 1: But I also this, I was so confused. Remember last
- 2:02Speaker 1: episode when I did my intro, those of you who
- 2:04Speaker 1: were here live saw me get confused because there was
- 2:08Speaker 1: an episode that it said that I had watched that
- 2:11Speaker 1: was one too far, and I tried to figure it
- 2:14Speaker 1: out by reading the summary on it, and the summary
- 2:18Speaker 1: is wrong. So breaking through enemy lines, Luvi and Zora
- 2:22Speaker 1: launched the counter attack. The summary underneath it says the
- 2:25Speaker 1: Strahats and Trafalgar Law, having formed an alliance and captured
- 2:29Speaker 1: Caesar Clown, travel with Kinemon to dress Rosa. That's the
- 2:33Speaker 1: description of six't eighty two. That shit happened like fifty
- 2:36Speaker 1: episodes ago, you guys, please get it together. So it
- 2:42Speaker 1: and it said that I had watched that when I
- 2:44Speaker 1: hadn't watched that, So clearly there is something going on.
- 2:46Speaker 2: With that particular episode that's all messed up. But I
- 2:50Speaker 2: just thought it was funny.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So this actually, like again, I just want to say
- 2:55Speaker 1: that having been a little bit concerned about this arc,
- 3:00Speaker 1: with being warned that it's a very long one, I
- 3:03Speaker 1: have been super concerned about things being too drawn out,
- 3:08Speaker 1: And I really have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised
- 3:12Speaker 1: so far that things, despite us still being in this
- 3:16Speaker 1: arc and despite certain like plot points not having moved
- 3:20Speaker 1: along that much, there are some that have moved along
- 3:24Speaker 1: quite a bit actually, or that we have gotten really
- 3:29Speaker 1: new developments on that make them feel like perhaps they've
- 3:32Speaker 1: moved more than they really have, which I would rather
- 3:37Speaker 1: that to be honest.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So that's fine.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But I really have been pleasantly surprised at how engaging
- 3:45Speaker 1: the episodes have been this far, because I have, you know,
- 3:49Speaker 1: a sort of I don't know if it's like a metric,
- 3:53Speaker 1: if exactly if that's what I want to say, but
- 3:56Speaker 1: I get a very strong sort of sense of how
- 4:02Speaker 1: engaged I am by the indicator of like how tempted
- 4:07Speaker 1: am I to pick up my phone? And sometimes it's
- 4:10Speaker 1: not even about our am I tempted? It's I did
- 4:14Speaker 1: pick up my phone, didn't even notice I had done it,
- 4:17Speaker 1: And yet here I am, and it's in my hand
- 4:20Speaker 1: and I don't even remember having gotten engaged on it,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and I like that will be the moment that I'm like,
- 4:28Speaker 1: oh shit, and I have to put my phone down,
- 4:32Speaker 1: back away from it take a moment and rewind the
- 4:36Speaker 1: episode and like recenter myself because I hate missing things
- 4:41Speaker 1: and it can be really frustrating for both of you
- 4:45Speaker 1: as the listener and me as the podcaster, for me
- 4:49Speaker 1: to be in the middle of describing a scene and
- 4:51Speaker 1: to have missed something and have gotten it wrong, Because
- 4:54Speaker 1: that happens. You guys have been here when I have
- 4:56Speaker 1: like talked about something for a few minutes and I
- 4:59Speaker 1: just I missed that something was explained, so I'll go
- 5:03Speaker 1: off on something and then later on a piece of
- 5:05Speaker 1: dialogue that I somehow missed makes it all clear. And
- 5:10Speaker 1: sometimes that happens because there's a ton going on within
- 5:13Speaker 1: a given episode and keeping track of everything can be
- 5:16Speaker 1: a little bit hard. But sometimes it's because they didn't
- 5:20Speaker 1: keep my attention and so I did kind of zone
- 5:24Speaker 1: out without intending to for a little while. And I
- 5:28Speaker 1: really don't feel that happening the same way in these episodes,
- 5:33Speaker 1: and I just I hope so much that this trend continues.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's very nice to feel so engaged and so consistently surprised.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's another aspect of it for me is that I
- 5:51Speaker 1: keep thinking that I kind of know what's coming and
- 5:56Speaker 1: there have been plenty of like storylines on this show,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and I definitely saw where we were headed with something,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and so far I haven't seen like a lot of.
- 6:07Speaker 2: This stuff coming.
- 6:09Speaker 1: So I'm I'm here for it. I'm definitely into it,
- 6:13Speaker 1: all right. So the first of these three episodes, the uh,
- 6:20Speaker 1: the moment where Rebecca sees I was sort of like
- 6:24Speaker 1: expecting her and Sabo and Koala to connect a little
- 6:29Speaker 1: bit more. She sees them and isn't really sure if
- 6:32Speaker 1: they're going to wind up being on their side or not,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but it seems like she realizes pretty quickly there are guys,
- 6:39Speaker 1: it's fine. There's a moment between Lufy and Law where
- 6:46Speaker 1: and this was something that hadn't really occurred to me,
- 6:48Speaker 1: but Law says to Lufy because you know, earlier he
- 6:52Speaker 1: had been like, if you free me from do Flamingo's clutches,
- 6:58Speaker 1: I am going to kill the fuck out of you,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and Lufi was just like, ah, shut up. And he
- 7:05Speaker 1: gets Law and escapes with him, but they don't have
- 7:09Speaker 1: the the what do you call it key to his cuffs,
- 7:14Speaker 1: So even though they escape with Law, Law isn't actually
- 7:18Speaker 1: free when they leave, and it's certainly like kind of
- 7:23Speaker 1: an ideal situation. Even though I know that they're frustrated
- 7:26Speaker 1: because they don't have the keys, I can't help but
- 7:28Speaker 1: feel a little bit like, actually, it's for the best
- 7:32Speaker 1: that you can't uncuff him, because he was about to
- 7:34Speaker 1: do some stupid shit and you needed to keep him
- 7:38Speaker 1: under control just a little bit longer so that you
- 7:41Speaker 1: could get this all straightened out. And Law says to
- 7:44Speaker 1: Lufy here, do you even know what you're doing? Do
- 7:49Speaker 1: you remember the whole point of all of us doing
- 7:53Speaker 1: this was to destroy the factory, to provoke a conflict
- 7:56Speaker 1: between Caido and do Flamingo. Did it ever cross your
- 8:01Speaker 1: mind that if we prematurely kill dofal Mingo, it'll only
- 8:05Speaker 1: cause Kyudo to redirect his anger at us? Is that
- 8:10Speaker 1: what you really want to take on a pissed off emperor,
- 8:16Speaker 1: to which Luffy says, I don't know what about me
- 8:23Speaker 1: made you think I give a fuck about tactics and
- 8:29Speaker 1: the political angle. But my guy shit has gone the
- 8:36Speaker 1: way that it has gone, and this kingdom is about
- 8:39Speaker 1: to get massacred. And if we just don't go after
- 8:43Speaker 1: dofel Mingo, have you even thought about what's gonna happen
- 8:47Speaker 1: to all of the people who fucking live here already,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you asshole. And honestly, you guys know that a lot
- 8:57Speaker 1: of the time Lufy's whole vibe frustrates the shit out
- 9:02Speaker 1: of me. So often I will just be like, we
- 9:05Speaker 1: talked about this, dude, what are you doing? And I
- 9:11Speaker 1: want him to be somebody who pays a little bit
- 9:13Speaker 1: more attention to tactics, or at the very least, I
- 9:16Speaker 1: just want a sense more often of him respecting the
- 9:24Speaker 1: agreements that he has made with certain people. But I
- 9:28Speaker 1: will say that this is one time where I am like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: the kid is one percent right?
- 9:34Speaker 2: What are you suggesting?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Trufalgar, Like I kind of wanted Lufy to actually ask that,
- 9:42Speaker 1: so what we don't kill him. Let's say we don't
- 9:45Speaker 1: kill him, then what how do we get out of here?
- 9:52Speaker 2: First of all?
- 9:54Speaker 1: Like that, that's the main thing is we are trapped
- 9:57Speaker 1: in a birdcage of his making. So even if we
- 10:01Speaker 1: didn't kill him, that doesn't mean that we get to leave.
- 10:08Speaker 1: He has sicked an entire town on you guys, Like
- 10:14Speaker 1: what I just that's that's what I want, is like,
- 10:17Speaker 1: if you're going to criticize this person's This has always
- 10:21Speaker 1: kind of been my policy. To be honest, if you're
- 10:24Speaker 1: gonna criticize the action that a person is taking but
- 10:29Speaker 1: you don't have a better idea, shut the fuck up.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's what it comes down to for me. Keep that
- 10:37Speaker 1: shit to yourself. And Trafalgar doesn't have shit to say,
- 10:43Speaker 1: he doesn't have a better idea. And honestly, I'm kind
- 10:47Speaker 1: of sick hearing.
- 10:48Speaker 2: From you at this point.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Guy, You had all kinds of chances to do things,
- 10:52Speaker 1: shit went the way that it went, and I am,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I am, like, you have been so passive in so
- 10:59Speaker 1: much of this that at this point I'm just irritated
- 11:03Speaker 1: with you. I don't want to listen to you criticizing
- 11:07Speaker 1: him when not only have we gotten into this situation
- 11:12Speaker 1: with your help, so this is like partially on you,
- 11:16Speaker 1: but also I want to point out that you saw
- 11:20Speaker 1: evidence that Lufy doesn't play according to the rules that
- 11:23Speaker 1: you want to play by a lot of times. You
- 11:26Speaker 1: had so many opportunities to back out of this partnership
- 11:31Speaker 1: that you had going on, and people in the alliance
- 11:35Speaker 1: warned you. His own crew members were telling you, oh yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 1: well that's how Louvi is.
- 11:41Speaker 2: You know. He doesn't like listen to people.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So what is surprising here, my guy, what exactly about
- 11:50Speaker 1: this is catching you off guard? Now, I'm so sorry,
- 11:53Speaker 1: but you made your bed, you have to lie in it,
- 11:55Speaker 1: shut up. And that's pretty much where we're at for
- 12:00Speaker 1: me and Trafalgar Law. By the end of this grouping
- 12:03Speaker 1: of episodes, so long story short, they're still on the
- 12:11Speaker 1: weird plateau that the palace had been on, and they're
- 12:15Speaker 1: trying to figure out how they can possibly get to
- 12:18Speaker 1: Do Flamingo from where they are, and of course we've
- 12:23Speaker 1: got all of the people who are on the ground
- 12:25Speaker 1: literally hunting them. So they're looking around and it's so funny,
- 12:31Speaker 1: you guys, because everything that's sort of that's all of
- 12:36Speaker 1: the things interspersed between the people who are like completely
- 12:44Speaker 1: under their own control and able to go after our
- 12:48Speaker 1: guys because they want the bounties. Those are interspersed with
- 12:53Speaker 1: people who are completely out of control and going after
- 12:57Speaker 1: our guys, or not going after our gards, going after
- 13:01Speaker 1: each other because they are being controlled by Do Flamingo.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So I had thought, and clearly I was wrong, but
- 13:12Speaker 1: I have like a little bit of an issue with this.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I had thought that we were like getting a reprieve
- 13:23Speaker 1: from Do Flamingo making these citizens kill each other in
- 13:29Speaker 1: exchange for everybody trying to track down the bounties and
- 13:34Speaker 1: turn them in. Basically that he was saying, I'll give you, guys,
- 13:38Speaker 1: a break from the violence and allow you a chance
- 13:41Speaker 1: to turn these people into me, and if you do that,
- 13:46Speaker 1: then you won't suffer any further harm from your own
- 13:50Speaker 1: friends and family. But apparently he wants people to collect
- 13:55Speaker 1: the bounties and he is still having folks fight their
- 14:00Speaker 1: own which I really do not understand this thinking, and
- 14:07Speaker 1: I know that probably sounds really naive of me, but
- 14:11Speaker 1: like guys, it just seems so shortsighted. Everything that Do
- 14:18Speaker 1: Flamingo is doing has felt to me like I And
- 14:25Speaker 1: it's difficult for me to tell how much of this
- 14:27Speaker 1: is me trying to apply to elevated an idea to
- 14:33Speaker 1: this show, and how much of it is something that's
- 14:36Speaker 1: going to actually turn out meaningful later. But I have
- 14:41Speaker 1: been very unimpressed, I guess is the word I want,
- 14:49Speaker 1: with the way that he has handled the reveal of
- 14:52Speaker 1: a lot of information and the way that he has
- 14:54Speaker 1: decided to and some of it has apparently been successful
- 14:59Speaker 1: despite him, but it has really seemed to me like
- 15:05Speaker 1: he hasn't done a whole hell of a lot to
- 15:08Speaker 1: win people over to his side in any real way.
- 15:11Speaker 1: All he has done is offer money, and there is
- 15:15Speaker 1: a certain contingent of people that is prepared to do
- 15:19Speaker 1: whatever for money, no matter who it is and what
- 15:21Speaker 1: they've already done to that person there, that person is
- 15:25Speaker 1: still like, sure, for five hundred million barries, I don't
- 15:30Speaker 1: care that you enslaved me for however long, I'll still
- 15:33Speaker 1: go and track this person down for you. But I
- 15:37Speaker 1: guess what he's banking on is that, like everybody who
- 15:40Speaker 1: would turn in the straw hats or kill them is
- 15:44Speaker 1: a pirate, and so he's mostly just having like the
- 15:49Speaker 1: innocent regular townsfolk fight each other.
- 15:53Speaker 2: If I'm interpreting this all correctly, it just seems like.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Maybe he thinks, maybe this is it. I'm sort of
- 16:03Speaker 1: head cannoning this, So forgive me, everybody, but you know
- 16:06Speaker 1: this is this is the show.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So if you don't like it, I don't know what
- 16:08Speaker 2: to tell you.
- 16:10Speaker 1: But maybe it's supposed to be more that, Like, I
- 16:13Speaker 1: know that the pirates are going to go after the money,
- 16:17Speaker 1: but if I leave the townsfolk to their own devices,
- 16:22Speaker 1: now that I have showed my hand about how Riku
- 16:27Speaker 1: is still alive and likely what he did was a
- 16:30Speaker 1: result of my manipulation, and YadA YadA. Maybe he's thinking that,
- 16:37Speaker 1: like the townsfolk are a liability, that they might actually
- 16:41Speaker 1: decide to get together and take him down, so he
- 16:44Speaker 1: has to keep them occupied and distracted while folks are
- 16:49Speaker 1: searching for the straw hats. Okay, that's Florian is in
- 16:53Speaker 1: the chat and says I think he wants the pressure
- 16:56Speaker 1: and chaosp so people cannot mobilize against him.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I think that. I think that you're right.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And also that keeps the townsfolk busy so that they
- 17:06Speaker 1: can't stop the pirates who are trying to track down
- 17:09Speaker 1: the straw hats as well. So yeah, okay, that makes sense,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and that's a solid tactic actually, I mean, this is
- 17:16Speaker 1: a tried and true method, isn't it anyway, Like anytime
- 17:19Speaker 1: that somebody is in power and they are trying to
- 17:22Speaker 1: keep their populace under control, they offer them a weaker
- 17:28Speaker 1: and more immediate enemy to direct their ire onto instead of,
- 17:35Speaker 1: you know, accepting any of the responsibility themselves. That's just
- 17:40Speaker 1: the way it's played, I suppose.
- 17:43Speaker 2: So the moment where Lufy's said.
- 17:52Speaker 1: This is when he says something about like Law's handcuffs
- 17:54Speaker 1: will fall off eventually. I think it's replayed from the
- 17:57Speaker 1: last episode, but Violet says how the key fell, and
- 18:03Speaker 1: we see all of them falling off of the building again.
- 18:07Speaker 1: So the bit here where they're trying to find the key.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Eventually they do, but honestly, I was very much of
- 18:17Speaker 1: the mind of just keep Law chained up.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 18:23Speaker 1: He's tired me out, So let's go over to the Colisseum.
- 18:27Speaker 1: The Marines are sort of like, what the hell is
- 18:30Speaker 1: going on with all these people coming out of the Colosseum,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and they start to realize, oh my god, I think
- 18:36Speaker 1: that there were a bunch of folks in prison under there,
- 18:38Speaker 1: that they were part of the populace that had been
- 18:42Speaker 1: turned into toys. And I did kind of appreciate that.
- 18:46Speaker 1: One of the Marines is like, honestly, after everything they've
- 18:50Speaker 1: been through, I can't even really hold it against them
- 18:52Speaker 1: if they come out of their rioting, because that was really.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Fucked up what happened to them. So I liked that.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I appreciated that, And we jump back to the guy
- 19:06Speaker 1: what is his name? I got an inside look and
- 19:09Speaker 1: I heard learned some really dirty deep Maynard, the pursuer
- 19:14Speaker 1: that's his name, because he's in like underwear, that's it,
- 19:19Speaker 1: and his marine jacket, I learned some dirty details. We
- 19:23Speaker 1: got to take Do Flamingo into custody. I'm telling you,
- 19:27Speaker 1: it's for the good of the whole world. And he
- 19:32Speaker 1: asks where each show is, and we jump over to
- 19:35Speaker 1: the trade port underground, and uh, the design of some
- 19:42Speaker 1: of the ships that we see here is cool. I
- 19:44Speaker 1: was like, I wouldn't mind seeing a little bit more
- 19:47Speaker 1: of this. One of the one that Kowala jumps onto
- 19:51Speaker 1: kind of looks like a hippopotamus, which anybody who has
- 19:55Speaker 1: listened to other shows of mine knows that I have
- 19:57Speaker 1: a particular affinity for that animal. I really enjoy hippopotami hippopotamuses.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I like them because they aren't me eaters, so when
- 20:06Speaker 1: they kill people, it's literally just because they want you
- 20:08Speaker 1: dead and not because they want to eat you, which
- 20:11Speaker 1: I think is a particular kind of metal that I
- 20:14Speaker 1: really appreciate. Also the fact that they look fat, but
- 20:18Speaker 1: they're actually really muscular, so that they sink in water,
- 20:21Speaker 1: they don't float, And when they.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Pursue in water.
- 20:25Speaker 1: They are actually running along the bottom of the lake
- 20:28Speaker 1: slash riverbed, which is terrifying. They can reach incredible speeds
- 20:34Speaker 1: and just how huge they are. It's if you've ever
- 20:40Speaker 1: watched one being fed a whole watermelon. It is really
- 20:43Speaker 1: something to behold. But Koala is on this ship, and
- 20:49Speaker 1: forgive me, but did I miss something here? Because it
- 20:54Speaker 1: felt very much to me like I was supposed to
- 20:59Speaker 1: remember that Koala was investigating something, and this felt like
- 21:05Speaker 1: entirely new information. So maybe it's maybe it is new information,
- 21:09Speaker 1: and maybe I wasn't supposed to know, but it's just
- 21:12Speaker 1: the way that we were dropped into the scene with
- 21:15Speaker 1: very little context that made me feel as if this
- 21:19Speaker 1: was it felt sort of like in mediares.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Even though it wasn't. But there was something.
- 21:24Speaker 1: About it that I was like, am I supposed to
- 21:25Speaker 1: be getting something? And she's looking through all of these
- 21:29Speaker 1: boxes on the ship and finding weapons and stuff. And
- 21:33Speaker 1: there's a label on the box that she tears off,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and it's originally had looked like something really cutesy with
- 21:42Speaker 1: like a heart on it. I think, oh no, it's
- 21:46Speaker 1: like it's like a what do you call it? Oh
- 21:50Speaker 1: my god, you guys jolly Roger with like a pink star,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and when she pulls it off, it's some other label underneath,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and she says and cost or pirate ship from the
- 22:01Speaker 1: Kingdom of big Shots, which I did think was very funny.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So nations all over the world use this port for
- 22:09Speaker 1: secret deals. This is the only thing so far with
- 22:15Speaker 1: this arc that.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'm sort of like.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I don't know what we're doing now, but I would
- 22:22Speaker 1: like it if we didn't. Here's my thing. One, Koala's fine.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I don't really care aboutter, but I don't know her
- 22:37Speaker 1: well enough to be that interested in this. Two I
- 22:41Speaker 1: didn't know what she was doing, So we're dropping into
- 22:45Speaker 1: this like I'm supposed to care, and that hasn't happened.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Three finding one crate with a different label on it
- 22:54Speaker 1: and then jumping to people from all over the world
- 22:57Speaker 1: do fake dealings here? Does seem like a leap, doesn't
- 23:01Speaker 1: feel like great journalism. And then four there are some
- 23:06Speaker 1: guys that climb onto the ship and they're like marines
- 23:08Speaker 1: are crawling all over. We'll have our asses handed to
- 23:11Speaker 1: us if they find out we've been trading with Doe Flamingo.
- 23:15Speaker 1: We've got to cover our tracks. And wait, I don't
- 23:20Speaker 1: understand why, like the Marines haven't mobilized against Do Flamingo,
- 23:27Speaker 1: the Marines have been on Do Flamingo's side. I am
- 23:32Speaker 1: confused about what it is they are worried about happening
- 23:36Speaker 1: as of right now, after everything has been revealed about
- 23:40Speaker 1: what Do Flamingo has been up to, maybe you guys
- 23:45Speaker 1: might be in trouble. I don't know how like much
- 23:48Speaker 1: that would even be true, because like, I don't know
- 23:52Speaker 1: how much they would be held responsible for Do Flamingo's
- 23:57Speaker 1: plans if they're just selling him goods. What he justcides
- 24:00Speaker 1: to do with those goods really is in any other business.
- 24:03Speaker 1: But sometimes that doesn't matter and you still wind up
- 24:06Speaker 1: getting held responsible.
- 24:08Speaker 2: But just up until.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Now, the only thing that we have really seen is
- 24:15Speaker 1: the blind guy. I can't remember his name. He said
- 24:18Speaker 1: that like eventually he wants to take down the whole
- 24:24Speaker 1: seven war Lords system that they've got going on with
- 24:28Speaker 1: them with the Marines. But he even as he says
- 24:34Speaker 1: that he acknowledges the fact that he can't make any
- 24:39Speaker 1: moves right now on Do Flamingo, that he has to
- 24:43Speaker 1: wait for everything that's currently happening to settle down because
- 24:48Speaker 1: he's like protected by the Marines, and so to me,
- 24:54Speaker 1: if you're working with Do Flamingo, that's as good as
- 24:57Speaker 1: working with the Marines. So I'm not sure why these
- 25:02Speaker 1: guys would get in trouble for this is what I'm saying.
- 25:06Speaker 1: It just feels like the sort of thing that's like
- 25:11Speaker 1: being sort of drummed up as a conflict that I
- 25:17Speaker 1: don't feel like would. I don't know, I just I
- 25:20Speaker 1: might be missing something here. But these dudes are about
- 25:25Speaker 1: to light up the whole ship because it's loaded with
- 25:29Speaker 1: all sorts of evidence about the dealings that they were doing, which,
- 25:34Speaker 1: you know, considering that I already don't feel like this
- 25:38Speaker 1: makes sense, destroying all of the goods that you had
- 25:44Speaker 1: been trading also does not feel like a good move here, frankly,
- 25:51Speaker 1: And this is me showing a very cynical side. But
- 25:54Speaker 1: if I were in possession of tons of weapons and
- 25:56Speaker 1: there was about to be a war breaking out on
- 25:59Speaker 1: this island, this is me getting my crates of weapons
- 26:03Speaker 1: onto the shore and having a fire sale to anybody
- 26:07Speaker 1: who doesn't already own a rifle if they would like one,
- 26:10Speaker 1: because it is looking like having a rifle would come
- 26:13Speaker 1: and fucking handy, right, now, So.
- 26:16Speaker 2: That's just me.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I feel like, now, if anything, is the time to
- 26:21Speaker 1: cash in on your illegal activity and get some fucking
- 26:25Speaker 1: money in your pocket.
- 26:26Speaker 2: But apparently these dudes do not agree. So Koala comes out.
- 26:31Speaker 1: And she does this thing where she uses what looks
- 26:37Speaker 1: almost like fishman karate and I don't know if that's
- 26:43Speaker 1: exactly what's happening here, but she'll hold her hand out
- 26:46Speaker 1: and a sort of almost like webbing will appear between
- 26:49Speaker 1: her fingers, but it's made of light, and she is
- 26:52Speaker 1: able to knock all of these dudes out in like
- 26:55Speaker 1: a second.
- 26:56Speaker 2: It is nothing.
- 26:57Speaker 1: And then she just says, shame on you all trying
- 27:00Speaker 1: to burn evidence and drops the torches that they were.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Gonna use off the side of the ship.
- 27:05Speaker 1: And I'm pretty sure that is the only thing that
- 27:07Speaker 1: we see from them for this whole trio of episodes.
- 27:12Speaker 2: We just get that and that's it.
- 27:16Speaker 1: So let's see Maynard.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Maynard.
- 27:23Speaker 1: He comes and talks to the blind guy and is
- 27:26Speaker 1: telling him like, do Flamingo is unfit and this fucking
- 27:31Speaker 1: dude is so useless, I swear to God. Eventually his
- 27:35Speaker 1: guys are like, so what is it that you want
- 27:37Speaker 1: to do? And he is still standing by what he said,
- 27:41Speaker 1: and he says, we can't make that call. We've been
- 27:44Speaker 1: doing it like that too long, the same old song
- 27:48Speaker 1: and dance every time. You've been in the navy for
- 27:51Speaker 1: quite a while. If I recall vice, Admiral, don't tell
- 27:56Speaker 1: me you never once opened your ears this whole time.
- 28:00Speaker 1: If you hear those screams, that's not fear, it's raged.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Those aren't the cries of terrified folks. They're furious, Okay,
- 28:13Speaker 1: Am I supposed to believe him? I really want to
- 28:18Speaker 1: be clear about this. Am I supposed to be seeing
- 28:23Speaker 1: that Fujiitura is full of shit? Or am I supposed
- 28:27Speaker 1: to be buying what he's selling here? I genuinely couldn't tell.
- 28:32Speaker 1: This was a bit of a problem for me this
- 28:34Speaker 1: scene because I watched this scene more than once, and
- 28:41Speaker 1: because I was sort of like, is it supposed to
- 28:45Speaker 1: be that what we're being shown cut into this conversation
- 28:50Speaker 1: is supposed to be proving that everything he says is garbage?
- 28:57Speaker 1: Or does the show think that what they're showing me
- 29:00Speaker 1: supports him? And it's just my interpretation that this is
- 29:04Speaker 1: absolutely not true at all. And I really, truly, genuinely
- 29:10Speaker 1: can't tell guys, because, as he says, those aren't the
- 29:16Speaker 1: cries of people who are afraid, it's rage. It cuts
- 29:22Speaker 1: to people who are sobbing, crying and look terrified, like
- 29:30Speaker 1: these people are so obviously afraid and assigning rage.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Like some of the people.
- 29:41Speaker 1: He would be right, you know, the folks that were
- 29:44Speaker 1: imprisoned and enslaved for a long time, and if they
- 29:49Speaker 1: were enraged, that would be completely fair. They were fucking enslaved,
- 29:53Speaker 1: which as far as I know, even though he's a warlord,
- 29:57Speaker 1: I didn't think that Do Flamingo was alf to do that.
- 30:01Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I guess he fucking is so his whole like, we
- 30:08Speaker 1: can't do it this way. We've done it like this way.
- 30:10Speaker 2: For too long.
- 30:12Speaker 1: That's why the world government has no business playing god.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I don't even know what he is saying.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Here playing God. You're the whole point of view was
- 30:24Speaker 1: allegedly to take like to protect the people. We know
- 30:30Speaker 1: that's not what you're actually doing. But like, if you're
- 30:34Speaker 1: saying that it has no business playing god, I would
- 30:39Speaker 1: think that that statement was you condemning Do Flamingo, But
- 30:43Speaker 1: it doesn't seem to go with what else he's saying. Here,
- 30:46Speaker 1: this whole scene and the conversation felt so off to me.
- 30:51Speaker 1: And I don't know if it's a matter of the
- 30:53Speaker 1: translation or what, but it's like a combination of the
- 30:57Speaker 1: way he describes the scene versus what we see when
- 31:00Speaker 1: the scene is cut in. It's the way that he
- 31:03Speaker 1: seems to contradict himself in his own paragraph. And then
- 31:09Speaker 1: when he says like they have no business playing God,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and the dude talking to him literally just like opens
- 31:14Speaker 1: his mouth and shock his cigarette falls out of his
- 31:17Speaker 1: mouth and he tips over, and I was just like,
- 31:19Speaker 1: I don't know why what he said provoked that reaction either.
- 31:24Speaker 1: This whole section for me, I feel like was supposed
- 31:28Speaker 1: to be here's the thesis about why Fujiitra is acting
- 31:31Speaker 1: how he is, and I didn't get any of it.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I felt like this completely was like a mish mash
- 31:37Speaker 1: of ten different ideas and none of it blended into
- 31:41Speaker 1: a cohesive thought. So I'm very curious about y'all's interpretation
- 31:46Speaker 1: of this. If there is like a translation issue and
- 31:48Speaker 1: there's something here that I'm not getting, I just feel
- 31:50Speaker 1: like I missed something or it's just a factor of like, Okay,
- 31:56Speaker 1: so Florian is saying I think it is to show
- 32:00Speaker 1: you how he thinks, not really if he is wrong
- 32:03Speaker 1: or right, it is his character. I would say that's fine,
- 32:07Speaker 1: but I don't get what it is that I'm supposed
- 32:10Speaker 1: to think he thinks. Like, is he saying that everybody
- 32:16Speaker 1: who is acting out and angry that they need to
- 32:21Speaker 1: be stopped. And if he is, then what does that
- 32:26Speaker 1: have to do with the World Government playing god? Because
- 32:30Speaker 1: I would think that them being enraged like that being
- 32:35Speaker 1: a result of Dol Flamingo. So he's blaming Do Flamingo,
- 32:41Speaker 1: But then later on he's still not taking Do Flamingo out.
- 32:45Speaker 1: He tells his guys to stop the straw hats and
- 32:49Speaker 1: to gather up all of the people who are like
- 32:51Speaker 1: rowdy who are trying to catch them, I think, and
- 32:57Speaker 1: to stop them. So he's not going after Do Flamingo.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So it feels like, on the one hand, he's condemning
- 33:03Speaker 1: the warlords in the World Government, but he's also refusing
- 33:06Speaker 1: to act against them still, but he's also saying that, like,
- 33:12Speaker 1: everybody here is so angry at the way they've been
- 33:15Speaker 1: treated and that that's a problem that they shouldn't be
- 33:20Speaker 1: I don't know, guys, it felt like this was just
- 33:23Speaker 1: sort of muddled.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Okay, so we have a little bit of the Sugar
- 33:30Speaker 1: is still passed out by the way, we have a
- 33:33Speaker 1: little bit of meeting between Do Flamingo and his guys,
- 33:38Speaker 1: and Treble is are like apologizing about Sugar getting knocked out.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Do Flamingo is weirdly like very chill about the whole thing.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I felt bad because eventually Treble says something about like, yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 1: that's why you're the best boss, and I was sort of.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Like, I hate that.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I'm sort of agreeing with you, but it does seem
- 34:00Speaker 1: like he's a pretty reasonable boss if he's just immediately like, eh,
- 34:04Speaker 1: what can you do? No problem, guys. I just you
- 34:07Speaker 1: know what I mean. I just sort of felt like, wow,
- 34:10Speaker 1: that is quite reasonable of you. I'm surprised. And what
- 34:17Speaker 1: he says is that like, all of that's in the past,
- 34:21Speaker 1: and getting mad at you isn't gonna like undo any
- 34:25Speaker 1: of it, which true enough, but still most people would
- 34:29Speaker 1: not have that elevated view of things, and I can't
- 34:32Speaker 1: help but respect it.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I have to say.
- 34:38Speaker 1: This is when uh, Pica comes up, and you, guys,
- 34:46Speaker 1: I was fucking.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Dying about this.
- 34:51Speaker 1: So Pica is the giant stone man who manages to
- 34:58Speaker 1: like move entire buildings and shit, and he rolls up
- 35:04Speaker 1: and is the size of a mountain, and he has
- 35:11Speaker 1: this very high pitched, squeaky voice. I lost my mind
- 35:19Speaker 1: a little bit. I'm not going to lie. Normally, when
- 35:24Speaker 1: something is played as like a huge joke, a lot
- 35:28Speaker 1: of the time it will fall a little bit flat
- 35:30Speaker 1: for me because sometimes those jokes are kind of played
- 35:34Speaker 1: out and I see them coming, or it's just like
- 35:38Speaker 1: often based in something really problematic about how like feminine
- 35:42Speaker 1: a man is or how ugly a woman is or whatever.
- 35:46Speaker 2: But this was just.
- 35:48Speaker 1: A really fun bit where it's not necessarily that he
- 35:53Speaker 1: is feminine, but just that his voice is so so
- 35:58Speaker 1: high pitched. It it's like what you would expect that's
- 36:02Speaker 1: on Tata to sound like, really, and I enjoyed this
- 36:07Speaker 1: a whole lot. Every single time he speaks, it was
- 36:11Speaker 1: a little bit of a shock even though I knew
- 36:13Speaker 1: it was coming, it was still better than I was expecting.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And later on when Lufy like really loses it so
- 36:22Speaker 1: often when Loviy loses it about something, I am very
- 36:25Speaker 1: impatient with him and just want to kind of slap
- 36:28Speaker 1: and shake him and be like, dude, can you fucking
- 36:30Speaker 1: mount right now? But this was a time where I
- 36:33Speaker 1: couldn't help but be like, he's got a point Yikes,
- 36:38Speaker 1: that is very funny. I really had to, like, you know.
- 36:43Speaker 1: And so it's always too the way that it's set
- 36:47Speaker 1: up whenever he speaks, when he shows up, the I
- 36:55Speaker 1: don't know how exactly to describe this, I guess the
- 36:58Speaker 1: pump and circumstance of his arrival. It feels very much
- 37:05Speaker 1: like we are building up what he can do so
- 37:12Speaker 1: high that and making him seem so intimidating, and the
- 37:18Speaker 1: camera pulls back and shows his size and the shadow
- 37:22Speaker 1: that he casts across everybody, and the way that he's like,
- 37:26Speaker 1: the manner in which he moves around is literally pulling
- 37:30Speaker 1: buildings up out of the ground or lifting them up
- 37:34Speaker 1: onto their sides so that people are falling out of
- 37:37Speaker 1: windows and stuff like. It's all a lot of the
- 37:40Speaker 1: drama of just his movement, which is punctuated by intense
- 37:51Speaker 1: folly work of rocks, moving things falling and being crushed.
- 37:57Speaker 1: So once he's beaks and it's this high, high pitch,
- 38:03Speaker 1: it's just such a great foil to everything that we
- 38:08Speaker 1: have just seen, you know, it's just really good.
- 38:11Speaker 2: I am enjoying this a lot.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I really thought. Later on, there's a point where Loofy
- 38:17Speaker 1: and Zoro and I, who else is it?
- 38:22Speaker 2: Law?
- 38:22Speaker 1: I feel like they got separated, so some people are
- 38:25Speaker 1: running and some aren't. But I think laws with Loofy
- 38:27Speaker 1: because Zoro's out ahead of them running and he turns
- 38:31Speaker 1: around and sees that Loufy fell, and I rewound it
- 38:35Speaker 1: because I felt like I had missed something. And you
- 38:38Speaker 1: just see a tiny moment of like a chain on
- 38:40Speaker 1: the ground. I think it's supposed to be that something
- 38:43Speaker 1: just happened to be on the ground and trips Loofy up.
- 38:48Speaker 1: But I thought for a moment that that was Peka,
- 38:51Speaker 1: that he had trapped Loofy somehow, And I was surprised
- 38:55Speaker 1: later on when it turns out that Pika thinks that
- 38:59Speaker 1: he's killed Loofy and then starts to realize. Everybody is
- 39:02Speaker 1: like looking for Lufy's body and they can't find it,
- 39:05Speaker 1: so they're all just like, I guess he must have
- 39:08Speaker 1: gotten away, Like how could he? Everybody is assuming, understandably,
- 39:13Speaker 1: in my opinion, that an attack like the one that
- 39:15Speaker 1: Peka just did, there's no just walking away from that,
- 39:20Speaker 1: but uh, Loofy is made of sterner stuff. Lufy is
- 39:24Speaker 1: just a really different breed, so rules don't apply to him.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I'm trying to make sure that I'm like covering up.
- 39:35Speaker 1: There's Frankie who has uh sees the smile Factory and
- 39:40Speaker 1: he's like, I'm going to attack the hell out of
- 39:42Speaker 1: that thing. Meanwhile, Sennor Pink is watching him and is, well,
- 39:46Speaker 1: he doesn't watch him. He asks where Frankie went and
- 39:50Speaker 1: is actually like pretty impressed with the fact that Frankie
- 39:54Speaker 1: is able to get up and keep going. He just
- 39:57Speaker 1: seems super like, Wow, I really thought that that guy
- 40:02Speaker 1: had like gone through enough today and still he's.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Up and about and doing shit.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Oh it's Senor Pink that grabs him. That's how he
- 40:12Speaker 1: does it. That's what it is. Or wait, no, I
- 40:15Speaker 1: think Senor Pink grabs him earlier. I think Loofy like tripping.
- 40:18Speaker 1: That's a separate thing. But yeah, there's a bunch of
- 40:24Speaker 1: attacks happening here. Oh and fucking Dellinger is in the
- 40:29Speaker 1: mix again.
- 40:30Speaker 2: You guys.
- 40:33Speaker 1: There's been a lot of characters that I have hated,
- 40:35Speaker 1: and some that I have hated for like really specific
- 40:39Speaker 1: reasons about like the implications of the violence that they do,
- 40:44Speaker 1: or just their grossness like treble or whatever. But I
- 40:49Speaker 1: feel like I really detest Dellinger in a particular way.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I think it's a combination of like just the problematic
- 40:58Speaker 1: nature of how he is trade and just you know,
- 41:03Speaker 1: being like super effeminate as this like annoying character thing.
- 41:11Speaker 1: And also he's just literally out here just like kicking
- 41:15Speaker 1: with his high heels, and it just I know that
- 41:18Speaker 1: he has more to offer in terms of a fighter,
- 41:21Speaker 1: but it just seems like he doesn't bring a lot
- 41:23Speaker 1: to the table, and I keep being a little bit
- 41:26Speaker 1: unimpressed with his overall performance and feeling sort of like,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I don't get why you're on this team, dude. It
- 41:33Speaker 1: just doesn't seem like you're really doing very much to
- 41:36Speaker 1: contribute here, which I have to assume sort of falls
- 41:41Speaker 1: under the same umbrella as a lot of different women
- 41:45Speaker 1: characters not contributing all that much unfortunately, And so the
- 41:50Speaker 1: fact that he is portrayed as really feminine like by
- 41:54Speaker 1: default means that he's also not going to be that
- 41:56Speaker 1: good a fighter. But yeah, I just Dillinger is like
- 42:03Speaker 1: every time that he appears, I just sort of grown
- 42:06Speaker 1: internally and I'm like this fucking guy. So all right,
- 42:12Speaker 1: I'm getting like kind of lost all over the place because, like,
- 42:16Speaker 1: things are very split.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Up in these episodes.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Before, everybody was sort of working toward the same couple
- 42:22Speaker 1: of goals, and even though people were in different places,
- 42:25Speaker 1: they were aware of what the other was attempting to do,
- 42:28Speaker 1: and they were all sort of like moving forward toward
- 42:31Speaker 1: the same central point. But now things have gotten so
- 42:35Speaker 1: chaotic and the were split up in really really different directions.
- 42:42Speaker 1: And let's see, I'm trying to find the next the
- 42:46Speaker 1: spot that I had left off talking in six eighty three.
- 42:52Speaker 1: I'm all over the place here, sorry, guys. So oh
- 42:58Speaker 1: oh right, So there's one of the one of the
- 43:00Speaker 1: subordinates starts laughing at Pica's voice, and there comes a
- 43:06Speaker 1: moment that I thought was really really great actually, where
- 43:11Speaker 1: Pica is going to in tune the guy and kill him,
- 43:17Speaker 1: and I will say I believed him. This uh, this
- 43:23Speaker 1: dude Pica voice set aside is genuinely like the power
- 43:31Speaker 1: he has is truly scary.
- 43:34Speaker 2: That's Bonker's shit.
- 43:36Speaker 1: But I really loved Baby five and the way that
- 43:41Speaker 1: she reacts right before Pica is about to bury this guy.
- 43:48Speaker 1: She yells gatling girl and jumps up and shoots with
- 43:55Speaker 1: her gatling leg that she turns into a gatling gun
- 43:59Speaker 1: at this guy and lays him out and then says
- 44:05Speaker 1: to Peka, I mean, if you're going to kill him,
- 44:10Speaker 1: at least leave him a body for his family. I mean,
- 44:14Speaker 1: we're not monsters. I thought that was so funny. I
- 44:23Speaker 1: really enjoy the trope of people who are are truly
- 44:29Speaker 1: despicable drawing the line in sort of weird places, you know.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I think it's oftentimes it can be simply played for comedy,
- 44:40Speaker 1: which I think it is here. There are times where
- 44:42Speaker 1: it can be something that's sort of actually revealing about
- 44:46Speaker 1: the character and what their priorities are or the culture.
- 44:50Speaker 1: It can be revealing about where they come from, you know,
- 44:53Speaker 1: that sort of thing. Or it can be revealing about
- 44:56Speaker 1: how they feel about a particular person and how they
- 44:58Speaker 1: might normally handle some in a certain way, but this
- 45:01Speaker 1: time they handled it a different way, and that shows
- 45:03Speaker 1: that they had an affection for this person or a
- 45:05Speaker 1: particular type of respect. I just always really like that joke,
- 45:09Speaker 1: and it was just such a weird moment because maybe five,
- 45:13Speaker 1: I think might number like it's a very short list
- 45:18Speaker 1: of female characters to begin with, but I think maybe
- 45:23Speaker 1: five might be one of my favorites, because, first of all,
- 45:27Speaker 1: her power is wild. That she could just turn into
- 45:31Speaker 1: shit is really cool. The fact that she has this
- 45:34Speaker 1: weird thing where she falls for men who lie to her,
- 45:38Speaker 1: I think is like kind of funny. Actually, it's an
- 45:43Speaker 1: unusual way to approach something with a character like her.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Just overall, I want to see more of her. I
- 45:51Speaker 1: wouldn't mind her taking a little bit more of like
- 45:55Speaker 1: a central role in things. Right now, it feels like
- 45:58Speaker 1: she's been sort of do flaming goes Gopher a little bit,
- 46:02Speaker 1: you know, and I think that she could stand to
- 46:05Speaker 1: do a little bit more. I guess perhaps though if
- 46:08Speaker 1: her weaknesses dude's like lying to her and her being
- 46:11Speaker 1: super gullible about it, it's possible that she's way too
- 46:15Speaker 1: much of a liability in that respect. I guess it depends.
- 46:18Speaker 1: But yeah, this little moment is very funny. So we
- 46:25Speaker 1: have also another moment with like Bartolomeo getting given orders
- 46:29Speaker 1: by Robin, and Robin says something later to him about
- 46:32Speaker 1: like great job, and he melts and.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Is so excited. Viola she goes and.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Finds Law's handcuffs and uses her ability to figure out
- 46:46Speaker 1: where the keys are, and when she uses it, she
- 46:50Speaker 1: spots Rebecca and is able to tell Ricu like where
- 46:53Speaker 1: Rebecca is and just you know this like moment where
- 46:58Speaker 1: they actually finally do re It is sweet. And then
- 47:03Speaker 1: of course we have the thing with Lufy laughing at
- 47:05Speaker 1: Pica and Pika going after Loufy YadA YadA, and the
- 47:10Speaker 1: way the Pika like goes after Loofy. When I say that,
- 47:15Speaker 1: I just don't feel like it adequately gets across the
- 47:20Speaker 1: dramatic scene of Pica rising up into the air, And
- 47:27Speaker 1: I really want to emphasize I know that there are
- 47:31Speaker 1: a lot of times where this sort of thing is
- 47:33Speaker 1: simply done because we are stretching out the episode. This
- 47:38Speaker 1: doesn't feel like one of those times.
- 47:40Speaker 2: To me.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Pika getting up into the air to this huge size
- 47:48Speaker 1: feels like an event that needs to be shown in
- 47:53Speaker 1: its entirety, because if you don't actually get to watch it,
- 47:59Speaker 1: you are left sitting there going what what is happening?
- 48:03Speaker 1: It's too much. It's like he's just too fucking big
- 48:08Speaker 1: for it to make sense. So I feel like you've
- 48:14Speaker 1: got to go through the whole process of all of
- 48:18Speaker 1: the buildings lifting up and showing the effect that he
- 48:21Speaker 1: has on his surroundings and stuff or else.
- 48:24Speaker 2: It just.
- 48:26Speaker 1: The scale of the thing fails to fully hit you.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Does that make sense? So what I'm saying is I
- 48:36Speaker 1: fully approve of how much.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Of this we saw.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I really didn't get like impatient with it at all.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Like him slowly coming to his full height and leaning
- 48:49Speaker 1: over everybody and how looming he is, it was very intimidating.
- 48:55Speaker 1: I was fine with this, So I just I wanted
- 48:59Speaker 1: to state for the record how I felt, because I
- 49:02Speaker 1: criticized the show a lot, a lot a lot for
- 49:06Speaker 1: how dragged out certain things are, and mostly the show
- 49:09Speaker 1: fucking deserves it one percent, But this was one where
- 49:13Speaker 1: I was like, Nope, this deserved every moment of time
- 49:18Speaker 1: that it was given Pika's power. The last time I
- 49:22Speaker 1: think that I have seen a power that affected me
- 49:25Speaker 1: with like, oh shit, was uh was it? Akg? No?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Akg is a fire guy, right?
- 49:35Speaker 2: Or is no?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Which one's someone that does the ice power?
- 49:39Speaker 2: Is that? Akg?
- 49:41Speaker 1: He what we were like stuck on an island and
- 49:45Speaker 1: he made a bridge of ice for people to walk
- 49:49Speaker 1: to the next island. Which wasn't even in sight. That
- 49:54Speaker 1: was how far they had to walk. We literally couldn't
- 49:57Speaker 1: see the island from where we were. And the fact
- 50:01Speaker 1: that he was able to make enough ice to freeze
- 50:05Speaker 1: the ocean in the first place, Yeah, it is a
- 50:08Speaker 1: okig okay, But also that distance, I was like, really
- 50:18Speaker 1: for the first time, like the powers in this world
- 50:20Speaker 1: are about to get bonkers. I didn't know how hard
- 50:24Speaker 1: we were going to go. And I feel like that here,
- 50:29Speaker 1: Pika's power is We've talked about people being opie, and
- 50:37Speaker 1: this feels op but in a totally different way because
- 50:41Speaker 1: this power isn't exactly versatile, like that's not the word
- 50:49Speaker 1: that comes to mind, but it kind of is super versatile.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Like there is a lot that you could do with
- 50:57Speaker 1: this actually, And I don't know. I just I'm fascinated
- 51:02Speaker 1: by this, And I'm wondering if you are this type,
- 51:06Speaker 1: like could he walk across the ocean floor?
- 51:10Speaker 2: For example?
- 51:11Speaker 1: He is big enough to be almost a mountain? Would
- 51:18Speaker 1: he drown if he's stone?
- 51:21Speaker 2: Does he need to breathe?
- 51:22Speaker 1: Because he basically is stone?
- 51:24Speaker 2: Right? Does that matter?
- 51:29Speaker 1: I mean, I know that eating a devil, for it
- 51:31Speaker 1: means you can't swim but you wouldn't be swimming. You
- 51:34Speaker 1: would be attached to the ocean floor. So by definition,
- 51:38Speaker 1: that's the opposite of swimming.
- 51:40Speaker 2: You have sunk. You are sunk.
- 51:43Speaker 1: I really can't decide what it is that, like how
- 51:49Speaker 1: far he could take this power anyway. I'm sorry, guys,
- 51:52Speaker 1: I get very distracted by once I start to spin
- 51:55Speaker 1: out into these ideas. So the rest of the three episodes,
- 52:01Speaker 1: or yeah, of the three episodes, I'm gonna summarize all
- 52:08Speaker 1: of this by simply saying, everybody is fighting over who
- 52:14Speaker 1: gets to kill do Flamingo. I like this was kind
- 52:22Speaker 1: of fun. The part that I really liked the most
- 52:26Speaker 1: was Chin Jao, who Lufy thinks still hates him, and
- 52:31Speaker 1: he's like chasing Lufy and all him and all of
- 52:34Speaker 1: his guys are like, stop, we've been looking for you,
- 52:38Speaker 1: and they sound really sinister and like they intend to
- 52:41Speaker 1: do harm. But we know that he has come around
- 52:44Speaker 1: because he got his drill head back, so he's very
- 52:48Speaker 1: happy actually, and he wants to like get to Lufy
- 52:51Speaker 1: in order to do him a good turn and thank him,
- 52:56Speaker 1: and Lufy doesn't understand that, so he's just like, hey, guys,
- 52:59Speaker 1: let's run in this direction. Actually, and eventually everybody catches
- 53:04Speaker 1: up to Lufy and all of them are like citing
- 53:07Speaker 1: the reasons that do Flamingo has done them wrong and
- 53:10Speaker 1: how they are going to get him and let's see,
- 53:16Speaker 1: uh oh yeah. They so the citizens they are looking
- 53:24Speaker 1: for Lufy and Zoro and Law they're thinking that they're
- 53:29Speaker 1: dead because of Pika's attack. And then they see all
- 53:34Speaker 1: of these people from the coliseum that are backing loofy
- 53:39Speaker 1: up and they had expected just to have these three
- 53:41Speaker 1: on their own, but all of our guys are here,
- 53:44Speaker 1: so they are not prepared to go up against like
- 53:48Speaker 1: champions basically, and Hinjo having his drill head, he really
- 53:55Speaker 1: is like the best positioned to deal with Pica. And
- 54:00Speaker 1: they managed to break off his arm, which I'm not
- 54:05Speaker 1: I would not be surprised if nobody had done that before,
- 54:09Speaker 1: although I will say there is a point Resoro is
- 54:11Speaker 1: looking up at Pica and is so like overwhelmed that
- 54:17Speaker 1: he's literally saying, I don't even know how I would
- 54:20Speaker 1: fight something that size. Sorrow, I saw you cut a
- 54:24Speaker 1: fucking pirate ship in half. What do you mean you
- 54:29Speaker 1: don't know how to fight something that size? Tree his
- 54:35Speaker 1: fucking outstretched hand like that giant fucking pirate ship that
- 54:39Speaker 1: you sliced into two pieces. What do you mean it
- 54:44Speaker 1: was weird? I don't understand why all of a sudden
- 54:47Speaker 1: he's just like, Oh, I'm flum mixed here. I have
- 54:50Speaker 1: seen you, sir, allegedly you went to an island to
- 54:54Speaker 1: learn even more. You did all of that shit like
- 54:57Speaker 1: before the island, didn't you? Oh? I just I really
- 55:02Speaker 1: feel like Zoro should be up for this, having Chinjo
- 55:05Speaker 1: with his drill head. It's great because we're making use
- 55:07Speaker 1: of like a new ally, and this is somebody who
- 55:10Speaker 1: has a weirdly specific skill set and it's delightful for
- 55:15Speaker 1: him to get to do something. But I did kind
- 55:19Speaker 1: of feel like we were pretending that Zorro couldn't handle
- 55:22Speaker 1: this guy, just to give Chinjau center stage.
- 55:26Speaker 2: And I don't appreciate that.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Zorro is capable, and I have seen him handle things before,
- 55:32Speaker 1: far bigger than himself with a plom and even if
- 55:36Speaker 1: he isn't actually able to like slice this thing in half,
- 55:40Speaker 1: I think he could do some real damage to it.
- 55:43Speaker 1: So I saw pieces of it just make it that
- 55:46Speaker 1: this thing can't completely like get itself together into one
- 55:49Speaker 1: form easily and distract it, you know, I don't know.
- 55:54Speaker 1: So anyway, that's pretty much where things end on the
- 55:57Speaker 1: third episode is taking off one of Peaka's arms, and
- 56:02Speaker 1: the like all of the guys who have backed up
- 56:05Speaker 1: Loofy fighting over who gets to take out Do Flamingo. Guys,
- 56:10Speaker 1: Do Flamingo is pretty powerful. I think you're gonna have
- 56:13Speaker 1: to work together on this. Call me crazy. All right, guys,
- 56:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna wrap this up, but thank you again so
- 56:22Speaker 1: much to all of you for listening. Thank you to
- 56:24Speaker 1: Florian for commissioning this episode and joining me here in
- 56:27Speaker 1: the chat. I appreciate you a lot. And uh yeah,
- 56:31Speaker 1: I'm just I am still like looking for answers to
- 56:39Speaker 1: what I was talking about with Fuji Toro, So if
- 56:43Speaker 1: you guys wanna give me your theories on what it
- 56:48Speaker 1: was he was trying to say, because like like I said,
- 56:51Speaker 1: he winds up going after Loufy and everything later, but
- 56:54Speaker 1: his talking about like the people being angry, I just
- 56:56Speaker 1: didn't get the relevance or exactly I I think it
- 57:01Speaker 1: maybe he's just trying to justify the fact that he's
- 57:04Speaker 1: not going after Do Flamingo and be like, see, the
- 57:08Speaker 1: citizens aren't afraid. They don't deserve our help because they're
- 57:10Speaker 1: just angry. But I don't know.
- 57:12Speaker 2: It just feels weird, So let me know.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Let me know what y'all think. I appreciate you a lot,
- 57:20Speaker 1: and until next time to Talu motherfuckers. That was an
