- 0:58Speaker 1: It's fantastic to you and talk with you, and we've
- 1:01Speaker 1: got a great featured listing this week. We're also going
- 1:04Speaker 1: to talk about speaking of winter. We're going to get
- 1:06Speaker 1: your home ready with a before winter and an into
- 1:09Speaker 1: winter as we get into these colder temperatures, a checklist
- 1:11Speaker 1: and these are some very very important things that we're
- 1:14Speaker 1: going to talk about with Matt in just a moment.
- 1:15Speaker 1: But first, Matt, I'd mentioned earlier about during these colder
- 1:19Speaker 1: days and folks kind of looking for an escape, and
- 1:22Speaker 1: it is really true, even if you're not looking to
- 1:25Speaker 1: buy a house or sell house, it is a lot
- 1:27Speaker 1: of fun just to go to the website rock Wisconsin
- 1:29Speaker 1: dot com and take a look at what's out there
- 1:31Speaker 1: and even get some ideas, even for your own own
- 1:34Speaker 1: home if you're looking for something like that, isn't it.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of.
- 1:37Speaker 4: People just browse on there just to kind of get
- 1:39Speaker 4: some decorating ideas or remodeling ideas. It's always always good
- 1:44Speaker 4: to be browsing everybody's everybody's a closet browser.
- 1:47Speaker 1: How does that work? By the way, how do how
- 1:48Speaker 1: does like do your agents go out? Because I love
- 1:52Speaker 1: like so when I'm doing this. The other thing that
- 1:53Speaker 1: I love is seeing the pictures and do your agents
- 1:56Speaker 1: actually go out and stage those photos, set those up
- 1:59Speaker 1: or how does that part work?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Well, I mean everybody does it a little differently, but
- 2:03Speaker 4: you know, for the most part, we'll have a professional
- 2:06Speaker 4: photographer out. Now he'll have a you know, a sheet
- 2:09Speaker 4: that kind of goes over different suggestions. But usually during
- 2:12Speaker 4: the listing appointment we'll walk through and say, you know,
- 2:14Speaker 4: here's kind of what i'd suggest in this room or
- 2:17Speaker 4: that room. But yeah, kind of it depends for situation.
- 2:21Speaker 4: How how we handle that.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Oh they look and they all look really fantastic.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Again, head on over to the website rock Wisconsin dot
- 2:26Speaker 1: com and check out those houses. That's Rock R O
- 2:29Speaker 1: c K Wisconsin dot com. And one of the houses
- 2:32Speaker 1: you will see is in Jefferson, right on Crestwood Court.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And this is a this is a really beautiful looking
- 2:38Speaker 1: it's got a great street presence. What do they call
- 2:40Speaker 1: that the curb appeal. It's got a Yeah, it's got
- 2:44Speaker 1: a fantastic look. Let's talk about this house on Crestwood
- 2:47Speaker 1: in Jefferson.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it's five point forty two Crestwood Court in Jefferson
- 2:53Speaker 4: and yeah, sits on a call de Sack, which is
- 2:56Speaker 4: pretty awesome. I mean I grew up on a Call
- 2:58Speaker 4: De Sack and I loved it. And you can throw
- 2:59Speaker 4: that bas we'll hoop out in the Call to Sack.
- 3:01Speaker 4: You know, one really complaints, all right, and it's a
- 3:04Speaker 4: it's a tri level home listed for three hundred and
- 3:07Speaker 4: sixty thousand dollars. It's got kind of a nice stamped driveway,
- 3:12Speaker 4: and it's got some stone features on the front, so
- 3:15Speaker 4: some definite good curb appeal. Four bedroom, two and a
- 3:18Speaker 4: half bath, and almost twenty five hundred square foot.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You mentioned the benefits and anyone that's either I did
- 3:24Speaker 1: not have the luxury of growing up at a Call to Sack,
- 3:26Speaker 1: but I had a number of friends who did. And
- 3:28Speaker 1: what a great little piece of area, you know, for kiddos,
- 3:31Speaker 1: especially when they get a little older. You mentioned play
- 3:33Speaker 1: some basketball or ride their bikes around the circle. Not
- 3:36Speaker 1: only does it have that out front, but out back.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'm looking at these pictures and looks like you got
- 3:41Speaker 1: a nice little piece of backyard for the kids and
- 3:44Speaker 1: the family or whoever to get out. Maybe you got
- 3:46Speaker 1: a dog that likes to run, got plenty of space
- 3:49Speaker 1: back there.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a nice thing about a call to sack
- 3:52Speaker 4: is you know, kind of a small front yard, big backyard,
- 3:55Speaker 4: so yeah, to definitely give some space in the back
- 3:58Speaker 4: to do a lot of things, especially if you get
- 4:02Speaker 4: to have a fence in yard and such. This one's
- 4:05Speaker 4: got you know, quite a bit of trees and uh,
- 4:07Speaker 4: I think it's a really nice semi flat sort of
- 4:10Speaker 4: yard so.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And a veries very modern kitchen as well.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You can check that out online Rock Wisconsin dot com.
- 4:16Speaker 1: That's Rock R O c K Wisconsin dot com.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Do you have a listing agent on this, Matt.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Max Mullhern Max And yeah, Max can be
- 4:26Speaker 2: reached at six zero eight five zero nine three eight
- 4:30Speaker 2: zero seven.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That's five zero nine thirty eight oh seven six o
- 4:34Speaker 1: eight area code on that for Max. Check out the
- 4:36Speaker 1: house and again, if you want to get a viewing,
- 4:38Speaker 1: give Max a call at six oh eight five zero
- 4:40Speaker 1: nine thirty eight O seven. And Matt, as we talk
- 4:45Speaker 1: this morning, we're gonna get houses ready for winter, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: it is a it is one of those things that
- 4:51Speaker 1: you really want to do. These little little things on
- 4:53Speaker 1: these checklists could really make a big difference. For your
- 4:56Speaker 1: overall I mean, you're sanity, but also home savings. You
- 5:00Speaker 1: don't want to cause damage to your home, just like
- 5:02Speaker 1: anything that that you invest and you want to make
- 5:05Speaker 1: sure that it's treated right and things even like things
- 5:08Speaker 1: like gutters. And as you look up to look up
- 5:10Speaker 1: to your roof and and see that stuff, some of
- 5:13Speaker 1: the stuff that you actually don't see may cause some problems.
- 5:16Speaker 1: You really want to get up there and clean those out,
- 5:18Speaker 1: don't you.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean if you're able to, especially if you're
- 5:21Speaker 4: up there throwing on Christmas lights, Yes, take a peak
- 5:25Speaker 4: see how everything's looking. You know, especially in Wisconsin, we
- 5:29Speaker 4: get such thaws and freezes, especially you know come next
- 5:33Speaker 4: spring to where you can get a lot of ice
- 5:35Speaker 4: damming up there and having blocked gutters, you can really,
- 5:39Speaker 4: you know, add to that and make it worse.
- 5:41Speaker 1: That's a good point too, about if you're gonna be
- 5:43Speaker 1: hanging and stringing up those holiday lights, what a great
- 5:46Speaker 1: time to check those things out. I have seen in
- 5:48Speaker 1: this next one you hear a couple of things. One
- 5:53Speaker 1: furnaces suffering damage, but even worse issues being caused with
- 5:58Speaker 1: with with the safety of your home. And and it's important,
- 6:01Speaker 1: I know My wife makes sure this gets done every
- 6:04Speaker 1: single year, which is that that furnace inspection, just to
- 6:08Speaker 1: have it looked at in a little bit of a cleanup.
- 6:09Speaker 1: That's something you want to be scheduling as well, isn't it.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 4: I think it's definitely something that's missed pretty often. We've
- 6:16Speaker 4: had different home inspections and such over the years that
- 6:20Speaker 4: have kind of shown that, you know, maybe the flame
- 6:23Speaker 4: isn't burning correctly and it's you know, it could even
- 6:25Speaker 4: be letting letting carbon monoxide in down there if it's
- 6:29Speaker 4: if it's not working properly, not cleaned properly, So it's
- 6:31Speaker 4: good to have some professional out there to take a
- 6:33Speaker 4: look at it and hopefully prolong the life too at
- 6:36Speaker 4: the same time.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and that and that's important.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You mentioned prolonging the life of the of the unit,
- 6:40Speaker 1: and I will say, and I'm guessing you probably get
- 6:43Speaker 1: them done annually as well. It's it's a real affordable,
- 6:46Speaker 1: very very easy thing to have done, and it's really
- 6:49Speaker 1: if nothing else, gives you peace of mind. And along
- 6:52Speaker 1: those lines, oftentimes your furnace repair man will give you
- 6:55Speaker 1: a reminder on this next one, which is that filter.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You want to make sure that it's clean, it's replaced,
- 7:00Speaker 1: that you got a fresh one in there, don't you.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yeah. It is usually one of the few upsells they'll do.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I'll offer you that that furnace filter. I've got to
- 7:09Speaker 4: hear right in the truck. So nice to get those
- 7:11Speaker 4: combined and done it once.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Yes, talking this morning with Matt Hypen. Of course, Mad comes.
- 7:16Speaker 1: So it's from Rock Realty Online Rock Wisconsin dot com.
- 7:19Speaker 1: That's r O c K Wisconsin dot com. Ar tell
- 7:22Speaker 1: phe number six O eight six seven three fifty four hundred.
- 7:25Speaker 1: That's six oh eight six seven three fifty four hundred.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Talking this week about some tips for winter rizing your home.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And uh, I think of being very cold outside, and
- 7:36Speaker 1: when it's cold outside, everything wants to try and find
- 7:40Speaker 1: their way in, whether it's box elders or you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: even little little furry critters try and find a little
- 7:46Speaker 1: ways to get in your house. And you really want
- 7:48Speaker 1: to make sure that it's it's for a number of
- 7:50Speaker 1: reason your house is sealed up tight, don't you.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I mean one of the things you want
- 7:54Speaker 4: to look at is for holes or cracks and such.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, our house was built pretty close to
- 8:00Speaker 4: a corn field, And there was one year that we
- 8:03Speaker 4: had a gap near the just decide to access door
- 8:08Speaker 4: in the garage and uh yeah, ended up having a
- 8:11Speaker 4: whole whole family of mice move into the garage that
- 8:14Speaker 4: in that winter. So it's it's good to uh, it's
- 8:17Speaker 4: good to put you know, some sort of blocking, some
- 8:19Speaker 4: cock or something to to make sure none of those
- 8:22Speaker 4: holes are letting in cold air and or rodents or
- 8:25Speaker 4: anything else. Critters.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want you don't want those guys around.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And of course I've seen video of of like mice
- 8:31Speaker 1: and things how how tiny they can.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Obviously they're already small.
- 8:34Speaker 1: But it doesn't take much and just a nice little
- 8:37Speaker 1: walk around your house it will do yourself wonders.
- 8:40Speaker 3: And it also helps too.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I've got a guest Matt with not just keeping the
- 8:43Speaker 1: critters out, but also keeping your nice warm air. You
- 8:47Speaker 1: want to make sure you're keeping that in your house
- 8:48Speaker 1: as well, don't you.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean one of the things is the
- 8:52Speaker 4: kind of the vinyl weather stripping and such on doors
- 8:54Speaker 4: near the bottom there, and yeah, it's pretty common to
- 8:57Speaker 4: kind of see a gap in the corner there and
- 8:59Speaker 4: maybe it's maybe time to swap those out. Before before
- 9:02Speaker 4: the minus ten weather it comes to Wisconsin.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 9:07Speaker 4: No, Yeah, I said it out loud. I shouldn't know,
- 9:09Speaker 4: but I did.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Oh, it's gonna happen.
- 9:11Speaker 1: We've just got to the roll with it right along
- 9:15Speaker 1: these as whereas we're looking at some tips for winter
- 9:18Speaker 1: rizing and something you should be doing to winterize your
- 9:19Speaker 1: home along those lines about you mentioned you know those
- 9:22Speaker 1: those little strips you put around the around the doors,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and I know there's some other things you do for
- 9:27Speaker 1: windows as well, but a little bit of extra installation
- 9:29Speaker 1: this insulation this time year never hurts. And if you've
- 9:32Speaker 1: got pipes and outdoor faucets, those are an area you.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Really want to be paying close attention to, isn't it.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, obviously disconnecting those hoses is a big deal.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Making sure that you know, if you don't you don't
- 9:48Speaker 4: have a kind of frost free hose bib outside that
- 9:52Speaker 4: you're turning off the water on the inside for the
- 9:55Speaker 4: supply for that. But to go kind of above and beyond,
- 9:58Speaker 4: you can wrap those exposed pipes or faucets, you can
- 10:02Speaker 4: wrap those in an insulation just to just to make sure,
- 10:05Speaker 4: because that cold air can travel through the pipe indoors
- 10:09Speaker 4: and crack a pipe inside too.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And that I've seen photos and I've heard horror stories
- 10:14Speaker 1: from folks that have had that happen where the where
- 10:17Speaker 1: the outsize hose pipe will crack and it'll happen like
- 10:20Speaker 1: on a on a weekend, they're away and they come
- 10:22Speaker 1: back and there's standing water in their basement. It doesn't
- 10:26Speaker 1: take much for itt to that to fill up, So
- 10:28Speaker 1: you definitely want to keep an eye on that as
- 10:29Speaker 1: we talk this morning with Matt Heyman. Of course, Matt
- 10:32Speaker 1: comes to us from Rockrealty, the website Rock Wisconsin dot com.
- 10:35Speaker 1: That's r O c K Wisconsin dot com. Again, the
- 10:38Speaker 1: website Rock Wisconsin dot com. Tolphe number six oh eight
- 10:41Speaker 1: six seven three fifty four hundred. That's six oh eight
- 10:43Speaker 1: six seven three fifty four hundred. Well, continue our conversation
- 10:46Speaker 1: with Matt, will work through our winter checklist while so
- 10:48Speaker 1: revisit and take a look at our featured listening.
- 10:50Speaker 3: We'll do all of that.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Next is Ask the Experts with Matt Heyman and Rockrealty
- 10:55Speaker 1: continues right here on thirteen ten Wibi thirteen ten Whiba
- 11:01Speaker 1: and Ask the Experts. Hanging out this morning.
- 11:03Speaker 3: With Matt Hyeman.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Of course, Matt comes to us from Rockrealty, the website
- 11:07Speaker 1: Rock Wisconsin dot com. That's r O C K Wisconsin
- 11:10Speaker 1: dot com. All right, telv oneuver six O eight six
- 11:13Speaker 1: seven three fifty four hundred. That's the number for Rockrealty
- 11:16Speaker 1: mentioned the website Rock Wisconsin dot com. They've also got
- 11:19Speaker 1: a handy dandy app. Whether you're an Android or an
- 11:21Speaker 1: iPhone user, they've got an app for you. Just head
- 11:23Speaker 1: to MLS dot rocks slash apps. That's MLS dot rocks
- 11:28Speaker 1: slash app. I think I said plural. It's app app
- 11:31Speaker 1: MLS dot Rocks slash app and Matt. Winter is inevitable
- 11:36Speaker 1: here in Wisconsin and our houses they experience all sorts
- 11:39Speaker 1: of different different outside conditions. And we're talking about to
- 11:44Speaker 1: some of the things that you could be doing this
- 11:45Speaker 1: time here to really make sure that your house does well,
- 11:48Speaker 1: not just for this upcoming winter, but for years to come.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And a big one is involves fireplaces, which are how
- 11:55Speaker 1: great is having a fireplace, but they do require even
- 11:59Speaker 1: even if it's a new fireplace with all the great
- 12:02Speaker 1: gadgets and bells and whistles, you still want to make
- 12:04Speaker 1: sure it's getting a good inspection, don't you Yeah, I.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Mean I would say definitely, while it's not totally freezing out,
- 12:12Speaker 4: try to make sure that your fireplace is working. I've
- 12:14Speaker 4: got a gas fireplace. Try to get it turned on,
- 12:17Speaker 4: see if the ignition's working.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You know, there's a lot.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Of cases where we get our power outages and such,
- 12:24Speaker 4: and it's always good to have a backup fireplace just
- 12:26Speaker 4: in case.
- 12:27Speaker 2: So making sure that that's.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Up and working properly. You know, you can, you know, obviously,
- 12:32Speaker 4: if it's wood burning, you'll want to, you know, take
- 12:35Speaker 4: a look through there. Make sure you don't have build
- 12:37Speaker 4: up of soot another debris, make sure you don't have
- 12:40Speaker 4: any nests up there. Maybe when you're on that roof
- 12:46Speaker 4: doing the lights, you can also look to make sure
- 12:48Speaker 4: everything's good with the cap on the fireplace on the
- 12:50Speaker 4: top there. But yeah, I have open around, sweep out
- 12:53Speaker 4: the ashes and all that.
- 12:54Speaker 1: We have a fireplace guy, and I don't know how
- 12:56Speaker 1: this works, but every year again along with our furnace,
- 13:00Speaker 1: my wife's schedules a fireplace inspection. It's always the same
- 13:03Speaker 1: guy and he comes in. He shines his flashlight and
- 13:06Speaker 1: again he's a professional, shines his flashlight up the chimney,
- 13:10Speaker 1: turns his flashlight off and says, it looks great.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I'm not going to charge you.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Literally every single year, it's the exact stuff. I should
- 13:18Speaker 1: start getting him a gift.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I tell you, he took milk exactly. Oh maybe he
- 13:25Speaker 3: knows the big fella. Maybe that's what's going Maybe maybe.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And Matt, well, we're talking about home comfort and some
- 13:31Speaker 1: of the nice things to get through the seasons. I
- 13:34Speaker 1: know we're not necessarily thinking about air conditioning, but your
- 13:37Speaker 1: central air. That's another one of those units that if
- 13:41Speaker 1: treated well, they last a very long time and perform
- 13:44Speaker 1: really well. But you want to make sure that that
- 13:46Speaker 1: you're covering it up and really taking care of your
- 13:48Speaker 1: central air this time of year, don't you.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I'll have just admit this is one
- 13:52Speaker 4: thing I don't do. And you know, I saw it
- 13:55Speaker 4: some of the lists I found online when I was
- 13:57Speaker 4: looking through this topic, and you know they recommend that
- 14:00Speaker 4: you get your air conditioner cleaned up and then covered
- 14:03Speaker 4: for the winner. Yeah, we've all seen the old air
- 14:07Speaker 4: conditioners that are just all rusty on the top, and
- 14:09Speaker 4: it makes sense that, yeah, having having snow sit on
- 14:12Speaker 4: top of the AC unit for a long period of time. Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 4: that probably does lead to some deterioration. So yeah, clean
- 14:18Speaker 4: up the dirt and debris, and uh, give it a
- 14:21Speaker 4: give it a cover. I guess they've got some online,
- 14:23Speaker 4: probably Amazon, little drawstring cover to keep it winterrise and
- 14:29Speaker 4: keep it safe over the winter.
- 14:30Speaker 3: They have they have that on Amazon.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I think they do. I found it for my patio table.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Oh really, sure they got a Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 3: That's that's that's a good thing. By the way, winter rising.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I just real quick, mat, I just kind of going
- 14:43Speaker 1: off off a little bit here. You mentioned one for
- 14:46Speaker 1: your patio table. That's another area too that you want
- 14:49Speaker 1: to make sure that this time of year. I know
- 14:50Speaker 1: it's tempting. We've had little to no snowfall this season,
- 14:54Speaker 1: but you want to make sure that your patio furniture.
- 14:57Speaker 1: That's the other thing too, is make sure that you've
- 14:59Speaker 1: got to protect it and and stowed away. If you've
- 15:01Speaker 1: got a space for it, at least have it have
- 15:02Speaker 1: it covered up properly so it so it lasts.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, I I've found that the cushions are
- 15:08Speaker 4: probably the most important, you know, So yeah, you leave
- 15:11Speaker 4: those out in the winter, and uh, an umbrella as well.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I mean if you've got a cloth umbrella or whatever, Yeah,
- 15:16Speaker 4: that can definitely fade and just you know, get bad,
- 15:20Speaker 4: get get bad poor conditioned very quickly.
- 15:22Speaker 1: So talking with Matt Heyman this morning, of course, Matt
- 15:25Speaker 1: comes to us from Rock Realty the website Rock Wisconsin
- 15:27Speaker 1: dot com. That's R O c K Wisconsin dot com. Again,
- 15:32Speaker 1: we'll talk about this week's featured listing. You can peruse
- 15:34Speaker 1: though a ton of I don't even know what the
- 15:37Speaker 1: number is any any guess how many houses you have
- 15:39Speaker 1: listed up at rock Wisconsin dot com.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I think we've got to go twenty five to thirty
- 15:44Speaker 4: aeth moment.
- 15:44Speaker 3: It's amazing.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's a it's a good way to uh
- 15:47Speaker 1: peruz check that style those houses out online again, that's
- 15:51Speaker 1: Rock Wisconsin dot com. Tell for number six O eight
- 15:53Speaker 1: six seven three fifty four hundred. That's six seven three
- 15:56Speaker 1: fifty four hundred. Let's move from kind of the uh
- 15:58Speaker 1: the before winter check lists. There are things you can
- 16:01Speaker 1: do during these cold months as well to really keep
- 16:04Speaker 1: your house performing its best and comfortable, and one of
- 16:06Speaker 1: them has to do with with your ceiling fan.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Yeah, one of the things that can really help distribute
- 16:14Speaker 4: to the warm air is to reverse the spin on
- 16:17Speaker 4: your ceiling fan, right, and so instead of blowing down,
- 16:19Speaker 4: it's drawing it upwards and helping to kind of recycle
- 16:22Speaker 4: it throughout the throughout the room. So something they something
- 16:26Speaker 4: you can do to maybe help alleviate some of the
- 16:28Speaker 4: energy bills a bit.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And one final thing too along these along these lines,
- 16:32Speaker 1: Matt is, oftentimes you think about the indoors when it
- 16:35Speaker 1: comes to snow and winter outdoors. You don't want to
- 16:38Speaker 1: you don't want to forget about in a really important
- 16:40Speaker 1: area to remember, our are your sidewalks, whether it's the
- 16:44Speaker 1: public sidewalk or the sidewalk leading up to your house.
- 16:47Speaker 1: You want to make sure that they're clear and salted
- 16:49Speaker 1: as well.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, sure, it's good to good to get that
- 16:52Speaker 4: salt ahead of time. We know how they run out
- 16:54Speaker 4: at the hardware stores once you do get a nice
- 16:57Speaker 4: icy storm, So have those paired, have it ready. I
- 17:01Speaker 4: would say in general, if you've got a newer driveway,
- 17:05Speaker 4: newer sidewalks, you know, maybe refrain from using as much
- 17:09Speaker 4: salt because that can really they can damage it. You know.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Obviously sealing your driveway can sometimes help with that, so
- 17:15Speaker 4: that it's a little more protected from the damage that
- 17:18Speaker 4: salt can cause. But you know, there are other options
- 17:22Speaker 4: that are not salt. You can attempt with sand and
- 17:25Speaker 4: other things like that to help it so it doesn't
- 17:28Speaker 4: do as much damage to the driveway. But as a
- 17:31Speaker 4: matter of safety, always good to keep it clear vice.
- 17:34Speaker 1: One of the things is as we as we talked
- 17:35Speaker 1: this morning with Matt Heytman of Rock Realty the website
- 17:38Speaker 1: Rock Wisconsin dot com that's Rock r O c K
- 17:41Speaker 1: Wisconsin dot com, I got to ask, Man, do you
- 17:44Speaker 1: see many houses And maybe it's just my neighborhood, it
- 17:47Speaker 1: seems over the past few years, I've seen a lot
- 17:49Speaker 1: of folks upgrade. I see those little I should say
- 17:52Speaker 1: little they're they're about the size of two trash cans.
- 17:55Speaker 1: These generac generators. Are you seeing people put backup how
- 18:00Speaker 1: units on their home. I've got to guess if you're listing,
- 18:03Speaker 1: that's probably a huge selling point. But do you see
- 18:05Speaker 1: are you seeing more people putting things like generators and
- 18:08Speaker 1: other things on their home for these type of events
- 18:11Speaker 1: that may happen.
- 18:11Speaker 4: You know, I do think they're being considered more often
- 18:14Speaker 4: now I know that, you know, I've even had the
- 18:15Speaker 4: discussion myself, just because we've had so many power outages.
- 18:19Speaker 4: It's surprising, you know, and you know, with all the
- 18:22Speaker 4: you know, crazy kind of weather we've had over the
- 18:24Speaker 4: last number of years here, you just never know what
- 18:26Speaker 4: to expect. So I think I think it's becoming more
- 18:29Speaker 4: of a value for sure.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It's funny I look up, look up and down my
- 18:32Speaker 1: street when there's there's been a couple of them this
- 18:34Speaker 1: past summer. There was one, I think two this summer before,
- 18:37Speaker 1: and looking down my street, you know exactly who's got
- 18:39Speaker 1: their generators going, not because you can hear the generators,
- 18:42Speaker 1: but you can see all their lights are on.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I'm going, oh, you guys got it made.
- 18:47Speaker 4: I looked into it at one point, and it's kind
- 18:49Speaker 4: of nice that they actually have like a trifuel option
- 18:51Speaker 4: where you can have it piped directly into your natural gas.
- 18:54Speaker 4: You can have it so that the LP tank can
- 18:57Speaker 4: be pumped into it, or just a gasoline actually really.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Oh, maybe I'll have to look into this as well.
- 19:03Speaker 1: And as we talked this morning about about beautiful homes
- 19:06Speaker 1: and keeping your house beautiful and comfortable, I look at
- 19:09Speaker 1: this featured listing this week at five forty two Crestwood
- 19:12Speaker 1: Court in Jefferson and Matt just I was scrolling through
- 19:15Speaker 1: the pictures during the earlier break and just kind of
- 19:17Speaker 1: looking at it. This is an absolutely gorgeous house, Like
- 19:21Speaker 1: when you think of like what is what is? What
- 19:24Speaker 1: is just like that that quintessential American home, look like
- 19:28Speaker 1: this has all that charm, all that beauty.
- 19:30Speaker 3: It's a really really nice place.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I agree.
- 19:33Speaker 4: In looking through the pictures, I mean number one, the
- 19:37Speaker 4: h the sellers have a staged really well, yeah, it
- 19:40Speaker 4: looks looks beautiful. It makes the kitchen look modern, and
- 19:43Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know if you happen to notice,
- 19:45Speaker 4: but that is quite the walking closet they have too,
- 19:48Speaker 4: so and a jacuzzi. I mean, it's this, this is
- 19:50Speaker 4: a this is a primary bedroom dream here with the
- 19:53Speaker 4: en suite. So I definitely think it's it's worth taking
- 19:56Speaker 4: a look at, especially listed at three hundred and sixty
- 19:59Speaker 4: thousand dollars. Pretty much any really nice house under four
- 20:02Speaker 4: hundred thousand is worth taking a peek at.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You mentioned that walking closet. I will be completely honest
- 20:07Speaker 1: with you, Matt. When I first scrolled by, I thought,
- 20:09Speaker 1: is that a room that they're that they've got they
- 20:12Speaker 1: they've got something like it's it's a big, big space
- 20:15Speaker 1: like no, that is a closet for all their for
- 20:18Speaker 1: all their stuff, and there that space could be your space.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Check that out online again. The website, of course for
- 20:23Speaker 1: Rockrealty is Rockwisconsin dot com. That's Rock R O c
