- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: My boss was really trying to say, I thought I could have been retired, messing with him.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_02]: But because the packaging didn't match what I thought it should be, right?
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: And now, need to match it.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: I got a bunch of lessons having been wildly successful in business.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a dance of me feeling like I'm an adequate to tell them, right?
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: And also,
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: How do they look at me?
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying to you?
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: Will you still own your path?
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: Let's meet at the top.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: Okay?
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: The lesson in the example are two different things.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's a fact.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then that goes too.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: And we live, whether to the dead son and show what we have meaningful conversations about life through the lens of fatherhood.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's four fathers, those with fathers in the father list, so nobody's left out.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: These are the conversations we will not sunst to access as they grow through life into manhood.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: So no topics are off limits.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm one of your host, Jake Black.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: Dijazz, you're other host.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, good brother?
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: Fill in fantastic.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: Fantastic.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: Fill the fantastic, man.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: That he?
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we'll get over 100 this week.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think we hit like 97 the days.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: I looked out.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: OK.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: I looked out.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: All things will get over 100 this week.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's August, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of value.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I think this one has a tendency to hit a little lighter.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: This one is going to be entitled, Dear Son.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Who do you think you are?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Huh.
- 2:03[UNKNOWN]: Huh.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: Tell me matters.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: Go back to our last episode.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: It might not be the last sequential episode, but go back.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, who do you think you are?
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Man, so many ways to go with that.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let me go to Ivy's way with people probably expecting for me there.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: Who, you and my house?
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Put your shirt on.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Put your shirt on, man.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Put your shirt on, man.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: Put your shirt on, man.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, why should this is when you finish, man?
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: Um.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: That is, that is a funny thing.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: There's no static people.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: It just happens to be your first time.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, catch it up.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you think you are?
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of like a old, like a passes to manhood.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's one of no questions.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you think you are?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: You said that something you smelly, yeah.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Then the more serious side of it is who, like, no, really identity here.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Who are you thinking about there?
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you think you are?
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: What do you answer to?
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: What do you allow the people to, do you allow the people to play with their character?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Let's wrap this out who you are.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: I like that.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I like that.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Same going to science.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like that.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's because that's that that's valuable.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: I need to know that about my boy.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaning more towards the inexperience in a person or the inexperience.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: Has a lot to say when they're receiving information.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: A case in point, a total stranger could walk up to a human being.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: For the sake of this conversation, I'm going to say the younger generation, 16 to 22 right now, current day, and give them some advice about something or tell them how to do something.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: They don't know who this person is, background, nothing.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: they automatically discredit or throw away what they were just told.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: More importantly, they do that even more often with their parents.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: You have parents out here who are psychologists, professors, public speakers, coaches, doctors
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: their child, the exact same thing that people pay their millions to discuss or figure out.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: What are we talking about here?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, that leads me to my first point.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Broken into some prompts to kind of slip into some different areas.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: The first one I'd like to say is,
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: The theme will be considered a source, right?
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: Can a person, and it's, we're going to start with your personal opinion about it, okay?
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then a black person, full of personal opinion, can.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a trick question because of your level of wisdom, can a person who's had six divorces talk to you about a healthy marriage?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: But what is not, I can get information there.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: I can get information from anybody that's had an experience that cannot circulate.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like that, because often as human beings, we like to consider the source.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: And we're looking to validate a person based on our ethno-sitrism, so if we're ethno-centric
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: even things we know nothing about.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know what you don't know until you know you don't know it.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know this person's past.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: What if this person is a renowned mayor's counselor?
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: And they've had a thousand different clients who are on the brink of divorce.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: come to them.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know this, though.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: Come to them and talk to them about marriage, healthy marriage.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the very thing that's failing in his marriage is is what he's speaking on.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's helping them find their missing piece.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: So often we would look at it as you could tell me what not to do.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: Perhaps they could tell us what to do as
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Do you feel that's valid?
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, one thing that I'll argue is that you say, we are, we love to, or we seek the valid day.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: And for a time, I would agree with you.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think today is more seeking to invalidate.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, just credit.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: So just as somebody isn't exactly what they are.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's, it's, I haven't meant to a doctor who look physically like I would want to.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: That's, you know what I'm saying?
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's this.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: not using information and not having information, I do different things, and one could reasonably assume that somebody doesn't have a level of information because of what they know or what their perception is of them physically or the snippets that they've seen.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: If you let certain posts tell it, we're terrible fathers.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: Why would we ever be talking about fatherhood?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: Who put these guys in front of again?
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Why would we ever be talking about fatherhood?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's a maturation process, I think, in life.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: And another danger of the question, everything's in a race that we in, which I love and hated the same time.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: we'll go to again, people go to the ethnography to find a thing that suggests that this is not only because it's been that for so long.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: This, I don't want to believe, it has to be too good to be treated.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: It can't be that they didn't know they didn't have information or we have more information now.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: So it's, I think if you're open to action, if you're open to the lesson, you'll find it everywhere.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, would you say a tree could teach me and you said something before the episode maybe hundreds of so bad might have been a hundred So a lot of that bit vast, but you said you can learn something from a tree if you watch and long enough for bucks opting to that effect and I think the difference is and Knowing what I know about my father's generation and seeing what I see in my children's generation.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: My father's generation, his representation to me of it was, he always wanted to knowledge.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: So he was open to get the wisdom.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think this generation, again, airs more to this proving thing than just giving it a result, just giving it a little bit.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: And which is, I'm not suggesting everything that has been loaded over time and everybody's accepted over time,
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: But sometimes you'll miss the truth, trying to disprove the truth.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: To that point, to that point, knowing that we're in the age era of this belief.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Society will not believe something a hundred times before they believe this one thing.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: they automatically, they run with it.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: They saw a spread in the news.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: But then when that is disproved, no, no, no, no, where's the same energy to say, hey, they were right, or they were wrong, that's not true.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: This person actually did not commit that.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I don't want to really hit that though, that's boring.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, knowing that we're in that age, that era.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think itself sabotage,
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Can it be viewed as self sabotage to have or know how to do something, but not use it?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: For instance, the example of there are people who will not accept an overweight doctor.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: You can be brilliant.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: You can know everything there is to know about.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: everything there is to do with the body, but they'll look at your physical appearance and say, if you don't apply this to you, what makes me think you're going to have a higher regard for me than you have for yourself?
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: Can that be viewed as self-sabotized or the knowledge is the knowledge?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think they can miss information because it's like to me so sabotage and my mind suggests that they're going to, they won't be able to get the information.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: You can pick who you take information from and to two different, the presenting.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: sources can have the right information.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're more comfortable with the doctor that's fit because you want to live a fit life and that fit doctor is telling you the same thing that the doctor that won't take their own.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: I just self-soptologist the doctor.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: The doctor says hepatitis.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: And the prayer for the doctor.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think feel the doctor?
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: The expert is self-sabotizing their career in validity by not using the varying information that they're trying to pass on to their patient.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: But they're fine.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's terrible marketing.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's terrible marketing.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then it ultimately goes back
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: What patient do they care to attract?
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: A patient that is desperate will take the information from whoever the information comes up is going to say their life.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yes the patient that may not have the danger of heart failure.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: Now they just want to they just want that body that they want to be in tune with going in that body.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: They may look at it loud.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: It depends on the level of
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: need or desperation of the client.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: They, their client base may look different, but they possibly miss out on something.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: I absolutely, you can absolutely agree with that.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: And to go into my next thought, a person, I received an inbox that a person said to me,
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of times when you're talking in the episodes, you'll say the universe this, the universe that, all the universe is working or moving a certain type of way.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: And they took that as typically non-believers, say universe instead of God.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: I wholeheartedly believe in God.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying that to justify or validate myself too.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: this person or people, my understanding and relationship tells me the university is God.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: God created the universe so if the universe is moving a certain way, it is the will of God.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: wholeheartedly without question, unwavering, regardless, I don't care who disagrees with that that's my stance and I'm standing on that.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: So when I say that, I'm saying that in the space of believer, but because I know the environment and the atmosphere of doll processes,
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: simply because of a word that's used.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: And imagine the irony and the religiousness in my opinion, this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: You receive universe, but then if I mention the universe was created, I've lost you now.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: That goes to the point of the topic that we're discussing today.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: There's jokes and slogans that say things like,
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'm really going to drill a home this whole episode and my questions are or geared around.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: Is there false comfort?
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to use that.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Do you feel, because again, I want your opinion on this, because obviously anybody can.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: Is there false comfort and I've never seen this person slip or make a mistake or side step in any kind of way?
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: Do you feel that bills of false sense of security in the source?
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: Would something's like spirituality or even just everyday life thing?
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, can a shepherd, if you will, I've never heard you miss a step ever, is that justification to either side?
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: Some will say, just because you've never seen a make a mistake, you don't trust him?
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: or he's made a mistake.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: And now you don't trust him.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: You see how that can go either way?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you'll find a way to rationalize whatever side of the fence you want to be on.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: And the moment you sound there, you'll attract other people that sound the same way.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: And now you start to believe, yeah, I call Chamberstas to tell you that.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: See, I'm on my right.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I'm even bringing spirituality or religious before.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: believe a verse non-believer approach to a thing, the way that I grew up, having a reverence for God and what he requires of us, I never
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: even consider perfection from another person, right.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: If I haven't seen a mistake, I just haven't seen a mistake.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also not looking for a mistake.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's something that I post frequently is, don't miss the message arguing the metaphor.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you, you, you piss.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: Where if you could, you, you, you should have used this word.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: 95 people got what they needed at this.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and I send them me to have a conversation about the person that wants to turn this on a a technicality and then mind because they didn't like certain right words like I've been to it to watch character or says character watch people over time if I meet you one time and it was great I met you one time It was great.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that you are great person.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: I can't build off that right Those you guys had I had a cool experience the one time we were around each other.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yep
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: them.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's the extent of it.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if they might possibly don't worship people.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like do you you'll pedestal a person to a point where you're frustrated that you'll believe in them?
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: Was it anything they agreed to?
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: And how dare they?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: You you gave them you assigned them a character, a demeanor, a perfection,
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: they never actually suggested was them, right, or agreed to, right?
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: Now some may, you know, some some may, pedal so themselves, or or make them or book, allow that pedal stool to become an idol to them.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and think that they're above, but I like, I didn't grow up in an environment where like even like people worship the pastor.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: There's certain things that today I can't fathom that to me don't make sense, but maybe perfect for somebody else.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not arguing you to my side.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: You got to answer the guy with how you approached that?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_02]: And what you proclaim and explain about that?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: If it doesn't resonate with me, it doesn't resonate with me.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: And at this age, I'm not looking to,
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: Not that God doesn't continuously change you, but I'm not looking to perform like you perform just so that I feel that I have a, now I'm in good standing.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you jump a shower.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like fantastic.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: She's saying me mimicking you jumping a shower and won't put me in any more alignment with him.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: If my heart isn't there and that's not what the reaction I felt right based on how I was moving.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: And that very thing, the importance and the, that's missed a lot.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: And that same grace, think about, I was going to ask another question about if a person that's never, perhaps played a sport past high school, right, they played in high school
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they just didn't get the level of understanding and interest until they were exposed to that sport later in life after college even.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: My God, my kids got into it, so I started studying it.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: And now I really have a clear understanding of this.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe they're walking or see you, you're, you're adamant about this is my thing.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I do as a child, perhaps.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you're in high school now.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: And this adult is at the game.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: He notices your performance.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: And he says to you, hey, I watch you in this whole game.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine quick size up you just physically try to check his resume by what he presents as you don't know if he was a star and got injured you don't know if this guy's over now to coach you don't know what his level of understanding of the game is you didn't even take the time to hear what he said or present it to you you automatically wrote him
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: in the current presentation.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: So the same spiritually of if this your method, just because that doesn't fit me, if this is your level of play, I don't have the physical abilities and attributes you have.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: So now my game is pressing.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm boxing out.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: Your athleticism.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: I feel in comparison, so the things that I know would be successful, you're capable of.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I have an understanding of it, but I'm not physically capable.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have the level of determination or ability to execute that thing, but perhaps I've witnessed you have this gift or ability.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: You just need this information so that you can apply it.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: Just on an observation, I didn't come here to see you.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was coming here just to watch a game and then I saw you and I share and you this regard.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: What if you've been praying for this breakthrough?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: What's the next thing?
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: God, what's the next thing you can show me to put me to the next level?
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how I'm gonna make it through college or pay my way through college.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: I thought this sport thing was it.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: But my cultures are telling me,
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: it missing something and you went and prayed about this day to seek the guidance and then the guidance came and you invalidated the source you asked for it it came to the door
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: In my experience, God's answers in my life have it remotely resemble how I told Michigan look.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hey man, yeah, hey, tomorrow.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: when you see something happening and I've said many times was like, my relationship to my parents in terms of receiving advice about being an entrepreneur, you were an entrepreneur?
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: My boss was really trying to say, I thought I could have been retired, mess with him.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: But because the packaging,
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: didn't match what I thought it should be, right?
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: And now need to my children.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: I got a bunch of lessons having been wildly successful in the business and there's a dance of me feeling like I'm inadequate to tell them, right?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: And also,
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't look at me, you know what I'm saying with you still on your path, that's me at the top.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I, cool at me, okay, for sure, but I like I get, I get both sides of it.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I, like I said earlier, I'm, I'm siphoning the lesson out of my door opening in the morning.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_02]: I hit this button twice and all the locks popped up.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: Magic Consistence, Magic Consistence, Magic Consistence, I need, thank you, I need to edit my life.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Joking, but not joking.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: I just know, even in all, all from reference corporate life, the people that turned out to be the most valuable in the organization, weren't necessarily the people that I
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: It'd be a sleeper.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: The one that's consisted that the one that you might have to approach differently.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: And you ask them to write question eight, boom, boom, boom, they give you 80 years of information.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: They've been there three months because they've just been observing everything.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: And nobody ever asked them anything.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's extreme example, but I'll take the lesson anywhere.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: The lesson in the example are two different things.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's a fact, and that goes to that goes to paying attention to what you're seeing and what I mean by that is, and I, you know, me, I even have a story to go with.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: Imagine it, imagine it, someone taking a short cut and sharing it advice with you.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because you witnessed, they took a shortcut that does not mean the advice or the wisdom is missing.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know what they saw in opportunity, they took it.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever the case is, still value weight and evaluate, not value weight, but you know what?
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look at that information, perhaps it applies.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_00]: close friend of mine, he was overweight, so much so that he had an injury.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: He went and had a weight loss surgery, lost a ton of weight over a hundred pounds.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: But because of this procedure, he couldn't just eat eat eat anymore.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: He had to eat small, small portions, right?
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he'd get sick.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: That forced him to also begin to meal prep.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: So now that's a part of his everyday life.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: To this day, this was, he's probably going on two years by now.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: So but still to this day, he meal prep's workout.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: That was the jump start he needed.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: having a conversation with him about hey man, I'm about to go on this life change in journey as far as health, like eating exercise, things of that nature.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to have any surgeries or, you know, the shot or medication or anything.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: No shade or anything to those who do.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: I just want, I didn't want to go that route.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, if you do these things,
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: I, I turned a deaf ear.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: You should have talking to me, that.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: You're telling me the right thing.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: In my mind, I had convinced myself, I don't wanna hear from you.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to hear about hard work and dedication and I've convinced or witnessed what I thought or have deemed.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: you cheated or you took a short cut.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know what that would.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: That could have been life-saving.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, I don't have the time to do this to slow away or the conventional way, if you will.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: My doctor told me it's this or die, and it's like my body can't handle these conditions anymore.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: We have to intervene right now.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: wisdom.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's taking me two years to get to this point.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have a like I don't want to present this as it was jealousy or it was a disregard.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: I disregard it the information.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know that's what you got to do, but you can shut up.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: You can't tell me.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: You can't tell me.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: Give me somebody that fall through this thing.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: that self-sacrifice them was, they, they know, self-deny.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not eating that.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not doing that today.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not engaged and I'm not, you couldn't.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: You wanted to, but you couldn't.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: So don't talk to me about restraint or discipline and you couldn't, that's not right.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I currently feel like I was dead wrong
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: for this regard.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this reload.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: My, my post would even tell me stories about what he missed in opportunities.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: And it wasn't so much for him in his
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: and close proximity to, you tell us they're all the time, like we grew up poor, we didn't know because everybody was, because everybody was poor.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then you get some information from somebody who's not in your everybody, it's how it takes some muscle memory.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_02]: or some courage and most of the memory to lean into that new information when every day life is telling you that this is how life is for you, this.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: And it's normalized because your whole world looks like, looks like that, but he was like, my, an opportunity to buy acres on pennies on a dollar, you know, saying compared to it to now, right, but he would hear it, but that wasn't a thing.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I guess it wasn't like a belief level or I don't know if I can do this.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_02]: I heard somebody say it, but I don't know because yeah, you know, yeah, under the mattress.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: So we, right, the money is best placed under the mattress, you know what I'm saying?
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: So it's, it's a, I hope, I hope my children are, how open to the information that we, we've had a conversation before, I'm at a point.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: I've been at a point where I'm cool with them getting better information somewhere else.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: Don't keep it from me.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: Don't keep it from me.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: Don't over there and find out that he has some better.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: And then you made the decision for me that I don't need to know better.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: Come talk to me.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: Bring that back and also don't want to create an environment that suggests that they can't bring it back because you know that he's going to be his way in the way.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, I went on that.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Not on that.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's the other thing is is.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: the level of information readily available back in your day as day, like right now we have the luxury of you can hear something we can fact check research background and run a quick little analysis right here in in in the moment and real time.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Two seconds I'll let you know what I'll think about that.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: Again, if you haven't been exposed to that you're you're
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: You're a product of your environment literally, especially more so back then, it was more exaggerated like that was, this is, all we have is our surroundings, saying for me, I didn't realize my level of poverty until I got out of it and looked back after traveling and going, I was like, yeah, yeah, I'll do it.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: What did you write?
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: You have a what?
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, three calls at your house.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't a real thing.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't a reality for me.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're in a two parent household with three vehicles.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: And both the parents work and y'all got and go and travel and vacations and that wasn't a real thing.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because nobody around me was doing any of that because you went to the local neighborhood school, you hung out in the neighborhood on the street in front of with everybody else that lived.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: within so many blocks, shared reality.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think the, um, it's as, potentially as dangerous for either group to believe it only works that way.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, conversely, if, if I only believe the way I grew up was how everybody grew up, I don't know how to have been successful in life.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like not understanding circumstances beyond yours, you can't manage diverse populations of the people.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: No, I had multicultural multinational group of employees.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: I can never have understood the experience because even the worst here is far better than the worst as some of my employees and their families had experienced because of geographic
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: So only being tied to your view is extremely dangerous, especially in leadership.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine being a part in parenthood, parents and marriage.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: All of the above, all of the above.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: You should you block an out so much.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's, it's a, it's a Travis.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I would like to express, don't get caught up into the why me of it all.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you telling me that?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's, oh, I, I'd, I'd, quote, okay, did like like this person out of the blue.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: All these people in here.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: We want to football field is it's 22 people on this field at one time 11 over here 11 over there why me why why did you?
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: Decide To better me Share this valuable information with me as a matter of fact you'll son plays for the other team Your son is the star quarterback on the other team I intercepted your son four times in this game
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: And you still came to me after the game and shared some things that would make me even better than what I am today.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's easy in that scenario to be to why me was what what why why why did you share that with me?
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why would I believe that you would want me to do better and I just
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: you actually trying to get me to go backwards.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: So your son has a bit, you'll convince yourself, and now you're actively self sabotaging.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: When this actually is genuine legitimate good, helpful information, he's like, hey man, on this level, I want everyone of you young men to succeed.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: that.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm rooting for my son.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm rooting for you too.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to do well.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to be great.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: My son may be doing this and he knows and I know had a clip drop.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to leave.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: My son I go into the league.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he's okay with that.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore I'm certainly okay with it.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: You, however, you can go.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: you're missing these components.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, when you first said that, you said the why I mean, I was thinking like the world was me, the complaining.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: But as you were shiften it, even as you would develop your point, it's still why do you think you don't deserve this?
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because that's real.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_02]: No, the episode we talk about, uh, the fear of being better, like what better requires when you, the ignorance is bliss, reference, and my mind has to do with the level of responsibility that comes with, because now I have to move, um, it takes effort to be reckless now because I know this not the way.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: knowing a way is not the way, and then you are putting the effort in to steal the opposite, stressful, stressful, it should be anyway, that's the stress from character check, because imposter syndrome is real, I'm watching, I'm watching people
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: and looking around, saying things like, why am I here?
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: How did I get here?
- 38:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I should be here.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is uncomfortable.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think they just put me here because I don't think they really value who I am and what I have to offer.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're there.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you spend most of your time
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: We're in about when the bottom is going to fall out.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: You'll never enjoy the high, never, never.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: And you, and your stairhole into the bottom and make it fall out.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: You, you, you stop, come on.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine stomp in the floor.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just hang on fall out at any time.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: Certain, you keep stomp at it like that.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_01]: It absolutely, absolutely weird.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely weird.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: Certain.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, man, this, this, this, so you got something for the people?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: got me thinking, man, make sure that I got to take my hypothesis syndrome because it's still pops up in terms of what this thing is doing and embracing it.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a lot better now.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but sometimes it'll, it'll, there'll be a temptation to let all the gas for it not to be, yeah, because of what comes with it short live.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: Very short live, but
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I know that was a phase for sure.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, eh, I want everybody to see this and then when way more people see it than you thought, it's like, oh, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey man.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: Let me get this and read it.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's really, it's right.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: Or it would have made it.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's real.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: I had a phase of, I try to be very transparent and open about,
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Um, my life, my current life, my life before this, which is the same life, but, you know what I mean?
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: I never want to present myself as being, um, I'm not a life coach.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a licensed, anything except for, I still gotta see the year.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: My life is commercial truck drive in my past.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'll still do it though, even if I'm not above it.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I wasn't, I wasn't the best father I could be in that situation.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was never abusive for anything like that.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: I never crossed those lines, they got.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I also, there are, I've heard criticism strangers that don't know me, obviously, but when they hear bits and pieces of the story.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's always defaulted to you didn't fight hard enough for your family and your children.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: You don't even know the details.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm always mindful of not only mentioning I do have three children from a previous marriage, but I also want to acknowledge that was work to be done and I was not.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have the tools.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't capable.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say I wasn't capable.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't currently possess in that moment the tools to be the father that they deserve.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: But that doesn't mean I should not learn it now.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: You weren't then, that's not fair to them to now learn to be a better father.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, must be nice comments, must be nice.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Dad's get a second chance at it, but moms get a band and then steal, get one set of keys.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're, stop it.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: Just, you're entitled to your opinion.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: You can miss me with the fool of it.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to make me feel any kind of way that this is how my life turned out.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: I acknowledge it receiving and embrace it.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: I am actively, ready-willing and able offering myself to all of my children.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: There'll never be a day where I'm not actively and ready and available for any of my children.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I want this to resonate
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: that I actively, until there's no breath in my body, yearn for in seek to have a working relationship with all six of my children.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Five sons and one daughter.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: You shall be?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just know what it'd be, but I, they,
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: The process story you telling haven't been told, so any who, nanoplaver, um, I haven't done this in a while, and I really wanted to do it on the top of the episode.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you're still here, but we have some amazing editing, so I know it gets, you'll get it.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: To do so on Network has some upcoming projects on the way, um, I'm excited.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: O.J.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: Black finally, finally, finally, finally pulling the trigger.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you want to do a actual launch of the no-mitching?
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just know it too.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: There, there are projects on the way.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: One, um, my dad.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a series with my dad and me, our interaction, our relationship, our banter obviously because if you think I have a personality, we need to see my dad, but that's something and I don't want to go too far and depth about that because there's a
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: can be out there.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's a story in the story as well.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing, health, health, me, I almost died is a documentary that the dear son network has in the portfolio.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just one excerpt.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's ongoing ever going because the message doesn't change the characters,
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: The roles, the people, they may change, the names may change, but it's just different aspects of what everyday life is dealing, the hands that are being dealt.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: it's hit me personally.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: And we have a series that we're going to go and depth about and release.
