- 0:00If you hear heard anything at all it'd be super muffled.
- 0:03Yeah, but CID. Already covered sound what I
- 0:05want bro. CID already covered this.
- 0:08They said It's your your shipboard and your armor
- 0:11computer that is. Extrapolating.
- 0:15Extrapolating all that and giving it to you so that you
- 0:17have a diagenic cue to interact. With your world that sounds very
- 0:22advanced. Why don't we have tinting
- 0:24windows for the windshield? Excuse me but like if if you
- 0:31couldn't hear in space then explain how the crew of the
- 0:36Ghost in Star Wars Rebels had to hide from the Imperial ship by
- 0:41being very quiet. Bro Dave baloney sucks.
- 1:17Welcome one and all to open Coms Radio, your Star Citizen call in
- 1:22show. Oh good.
- 1:26Being home. I'm back and the the kids ran
- 1:31away with the house while I was gone.
- 1:34They did a great job. I want to thank Duke later the
- 1:37second for taking the reins and his lovely partner Cosmic Hobo
- 1:43for for hosting the show while I was away.
- 1:46I was away in Europe. It was cold in Europe.
- 1:50It was everyone was speaking some like European language to
- 1:55me. Born speaking American.
- 1:59Well, that's what I told them. I said I'm I speak American and
- 2:03they they were like rude and and snotty and stuff.
- 2:06I don't know. I don't, I don't get it.
- 2:08I don't understand how that how people could behave that way.
- 2:12Typical, yeah. But other than that, it was a
- 2:14great trip at A at a really good time.
- 2:17Flew back over Greenland, looked on my plane window, saw
- 2:22Greenland. It was beautiful.
- 2:24And the guy next to me leaned over he was like hey can I take
- 2:28a picture? And I was like Oh yeah man
- 2:29because I was in the window seat.
- 2:32Snaps a few photos of his phone and for like 5 minutes we're
- 2:36just both of us are looking out my window.
- 2:38I thought you were going to say he like took pictures of of your
- 2:41lap or something. I thought he wanted to.
- 2:46I thought that was the punchline.
- 2:47He may have wanted to. Now those airplanes are tight,
- 2:50but we were looking out over out the window over beautiful
- 2:53Greenland and for like 5 minutes and then he leans into me and he
- 2:57says, you know what would look good right there?
- 3:00A Walmart. Oh.
- 3:02My God, I. Lost it, I lost it.
- 3:06He was Dutch or something. Something oh so OK, so he's
- 3:10forgiven. That's that's just their sense
- 3:15of humor. It's fine.
- 3:16Yeah, he has a good he had a good sense of humor.
- 3:19You you also have a good sense of humor.
- 3:22Duke Leo the second my Co host here on this Star Citizen call
- 3:26in show. You hosted the show the last two
- 3:28weeks. Thank you very much for doing
- 3:29it. No problem.
- 3:31My pleasure it was. It's good to have you back, you
- 3:34know. Oh, thank you.
- 3:36Yeah. You, you listen to this show and
- 3:38you would think, you know, these guys are idiots, but when, when
- 3:43Jar Jar is hosting it, no, there's, there's a lot of talent
- 3:46that's that's being put into play and with you gone, that
- 3:51that talent was gone as well. So all right, that's enough.
- 3:54Happy to have enough. Thank you.
- 3:55That's enough. Come on, did I?
- 3:57Did I earn my Amazon gift card? Yes, yes, You've earned your.
- 4:00You've earned your. They're actually blockbuster
- 4:02gift cards. I have four dozen of them.
- 4:05Yeah, they're good. They got good deals now, but you
- 4:08got to go to like. Where is is it Alaska or
- 4:12something? Alaska or something?
- 4:14Yeah. So it's still there.
- 4:20There's one blockbuster still there.
- 4:22Don't, don't. Count on it's in Oregon.
- 4:26OK, so there you go. Everybody buy the stock.
- 4:30But that's not what we're here to talk about, man.
- 4:31We're not here to talk about Blockbuster.
- 4:34We're not here to talk about my trip abroad.
- 4:36We're not even here to talk about how you did me so wrong
- 4:41when you hosted the show. What?
- 4:44Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I was the number one
- 4:48fan while while you were hosting the show, I listened to, you
- 4:52know, I listened to it. So I listened to the whole
- 4:54thing. I posted it and one of these
- 4:57episodes there you you were talking about how we were doing
- 5:00the the bar citizen and you said I had Apple laptop.
- 5:05Yeah, you're stupid. Fucking It was a French.
- 5:07It was a fucking French apple. Laptop.
- 5:11Yeah, Lay lay Apple. Bro, this show doesn't is not
- 5:15even on Apple podcast. You know, you think I'm going to
- 5:19have an apple. You sang it on top.
- 5:20Wasn't it a MacBook or a Lane MacBook?
- 5:23No, no. And I remember at the show you
- 5:25asked me and I was like bro fuck no dude.
- 5:28It just it's just Gray with stickers on it.
- 5:30I. Thought it was white.
- 5:33Well. It was white.
- 5:35Well, isn't I thought that isn't that exclusive.
- 5:38I thought nobody else could make laptops that color.
- 5:44I'm old. I see a white laptop.
- 5:46I'm like, it's Apple. Yeah, well, when you said that,
- 5:49I audibly. Gasped.
- 5:50But do you deny that it was French?
- 5:52No, it was French. And that it had weird fucking
- 5:55buttons and stuff. Yeah, they call them hieroglyphs
- 5:58in French. To the.
- 6:01Hieroglyphs, they don't pronounce the H.
- 6:03All right, but moving on away from your fantastic shows and
- 6:08and and and everything else, we're going to move on to Star
- 6:11Citizen. Yeah, this is a Star Citizen
- 6:14call in show. And what we do here is we talk a
- 6:17little bit about Star Citizen every week we have a question on
- 6:20the show. This week's question, crafting
- 6:23radar blueprints. What did I miss?
- 6:27Yeah. So what we usually do is we we
- 6:29bring on a guest up here. Anyone can call in the show.
- 6:32All you got to do is pop on to the Discord.
- 6:35And if you are listening, maybe you don't want to come on the
- 6:38show, right? But you should still come on our
- 6:40Discord because we have right now a giveaway.
- 6:50Dookie you hear about this giveaway?
- 6:53I did belatedly hear about the giveaway, yeah.
- 6:56Oh, it's the first ever Open Comms Radio Mystery prize
- 6:58giveaway extravaganza. Not one, but two DOS Epic
- 7:02prizes. This is a Mystery Steam game
- 7:05prize. The prize will be delivered via
- 7:07Steam. To be eligible, winners must
- 7:09subscribe to or follow one of Open Comms channels.
- 7:14You can follow us and subscribe on YouTube.

- 7:23must also be in the Discord and click the enter button.
- 7:27You do that by this time next week, by this time on March
- 7:3018th, and you could be the winner of one of two prizes.
- 7:35Your odds are pretty good. Not many people signed up yet,
- 7:38so there you go. There you go, this is your
- 7:42chance to be a winner, folks. Dad won't be disappointed in you
- 7:45anymore. If you've never been a winner
- 7:47before. Prove your ex wrong.
- 7:49Yeah, that'll show her. All right, Duke, looks like
- 7:53we're going to get rid of into things here.
- 7:54We have someone here in the waiting room.
- 7:57Oh, looks like Lord Nubis gets pulled aside for the moment
- 8:02because we have a first time caller.
- 8:06Dude, you gotta do the the sound.
- 8:09There's a specific sound for for the first time caller and he's
- 8:15gone. Yeah, first.
- 8:16Time and. He's gone.
- 8:18That's what happened. OK, so he's not a first time
- 8:20caller. He has been here at least once
- 8:23before. And I was like, I'm going to,
- 8:25I'm going to call this guy up and I think we should name and
- 8:27shame at this point. And each time right before he's
- 8:31about to be called up. Yeah, he backs out.
- 8:33Goes away. I think he's, he's, you know,
- 8:37the, the acorns shrivel up and he has to run back to his hole
- 8:41in the tree. Well then, in that case we will
- 8:44bring up our favorite caller of all time, the bluest of the
- 8:48bunch, Lord Anubis. Lord Anubis crafting radar
- 8:53blueprints. What did I miss?
- 8:57You missed the inevitable transformation into Star Wars
- 9:01Galaxies, the greatest game. Of all time.
- 9:06And if if Wicked can mention Sandy all the time, I will
- 9:09mention Star Wars Galaxies all the time.
- 9:12I think there's that's probably a safer bet.
- 9:14There'll be less lawsuits involved.
- 9:16Yeah, yeah, it's, it's not actionable.
- 9:19Unless you get weird with it. I I could.
- 9:23No, don't get the time. Don't.
- 9:25Well, not later. Well, get weird with it.
- 9:27Don't get weird with it. The point is, Lord Anubis is
- 9:30you. You might be on to something
- 9:32here. Yeah.
- 9:35Did you did you watch more apologies or is that that why?
- 9:39I did not see more follow. I haven't watched any content.
- 9:41I haven't done anything while I was away.
- 9:44I I the only show I watched was this one when I released it.
- 9:48Oh, I'm sorry. On the YouTube, yeah damn.
- 9:53So I didn't get any information. Well, no idea what's.
- 9:57Going on in the game. In in case anybody doesn't know,
- 10:01they are revamping everything and they're adding an actual
- 10:05structure to the way things are made and constructed and giving
- 10:10people reasons to go out and go get shit instead of just go get
- 10:14money, scrub, go get money, scrub.
- 10:16Like you're, you're going to actually like have a reason to
- 10:20get the good shit and go find the good shit in order to make
- 10:24the good shit. Oh yeah.
- 10:26And that's, that's, that's like a big step because up until now
- 10:31everything has pretty much just been credits, credits, credits,
- 10:36credits. Go loot, loot, loot, go search
- 10:39every box for 17 hours. And that's all you could do
- 10:42other than mine, which was just for credits.
- 10:45Jump Town. It was all jump town all the way
- 10:48down. It was just jump towns, just
- 10:51different kinds of jump towns. You you told me it was all jump
- 10:54towns it. Was all jump.
- 10:56Towns all the way man. You think you're getting red
- 10:59cards bro? What?
- 11:00It just turns into jump town. Oh, yeah.
- 11:03That's all it is. Yeah.
- 11:05Yeah. But now, OK, so we we got a
- 11:06little a little crafting, right. So this this episode we're
- 11:09talking about crafting greater on blueprints.
- 11:11Let's start with the crafting. You said it's Star Wars
- 11:16Galaxies. Is this crafting similar to Star
- 11:20Wars Galaxies? It will be, it is not yet.
- 11:24It is the good first step. The, the fact that you know, you
- 11:28have grades of materials that come up with better, you know,
- 11:32with, with better results is, is a good start.
- 11:37It does, you know, decay needs to be implemented properly in
- 11:41order to keep the, the wheels churning because you know, you,
- 11:46you can't have anything without planned obsolescence.
- 11:49So otherwise manufacturing just stops and there's no point to
- 11:51doing it because you've got a permanent perfect item.
- 11:55And in the real world, that's that's ideal.
- 11:58You know, we don't want to constantly use resources.
- 12:00But in a video game, yeah, you, you kind of, you kind of need to
- 12:03be a little wasteful, you know, a little bit more like the real
- 12:06world right now. You know they're not going to
- 12:08do, They applied this logic to the Zelda Breath of the Wild
- 12:11game, and I can't stand it. If, if like if you don't know
- 12:16the the new generation of Zelda, you can have like dozens of
- 12:21different weapons and Spears and axes and they all break and they
- 12:26all break like very quickly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:30But but that's that's necessary. Yeah, you have to.
- 12:34Not in Zelda bro. No, in a game that you're going
- 12:37to have crafting be meaningful beyond just doing something
- 12:41once, then it's you got to, they got a break, you got to lose it.
- 12:47Yeah, yeah, well, I had that and I only crafted like potions and
- 12:50stuff in that game. I haven't crafted anything like
- 12:54real yet. Any items I just keep picking up
- 12:58hob hob goblin Spears and bones and shit and stabbing people
- 13:02with them. But that's that's kind of The
- 13:05thing is that, you know, in a game like this, the good thing
- 13:08is, is that you don't need to craft.
- 13:11You can go buy it from someone else and do whatever you want.
- 13:14It's just now there is someone else to actually buy stuff from
- 13:19and a reason for it. And that that's the main thing.
- 13:21I mean, Breath of the Wild, it's one thing, but in a multiplayer
- 13:24like this, to have, you know, I want that peaceful life.
- 13:27I just want to be a crafter, right?
- 13:29I don't want to go and shoot people.
- 13:30I know plenty of people who would join this game if they
- 13:33knew that they could actually live like a merchant's life.
- 13:37Different things like that. And this is the first step
- 13:39towards it. It's very positive and it will
- 13:44only get better. So what's this Lord Nevis?
- 13:48What's this missing? Well, it's missing decay.
- 13:52It's missing the skill of the crafter.
- 13:57So, you know, I mean, in most games, yeah, you grind XP in
- 14:01order to get better results as you go, as you go along, even if
- 14:04you got good materials, you'll get better results because
- 14:07you've done it so many times before.
- 14:08It needs that. You need specialization and.
- 14:13But you don't. You don't want like a level, you
- 14:15don't Lord Nameis. You don't want like, oh, I'm
- 14:17like a level 82 crafter and therefore it's better for me to
- 14:22craft. I agree, I am an elite bounty
- 14:24hunter that gets the BHRTS and the.
- 14:28Yeah, but that's just getting access to missions.
- 14:31That's not I am better at crafting.
- 14:34However, crafting could be considered a mission.
- 14:37My mission is to craft this thing.
- 14:39I mean, there's a little bit of that that that, you know, I
- 14:43mean, do you should get bonuses for doing the same thing over
- 14:46and over or doing it better? We're getting more better
- 14:49results. You get even better stats
- 14:51because if you don't differentiate, if you don't, if
- 14:53you make everything classless, then crafting just falls as one
- 14:58of those just those things you can do rather than one of those
- 15:01passions you can, you know, invest in.
- 15:03And there should be other things like engineering and repairing
- 15:07and things like that, that would be better as you do them.
- 15:10You don't need levels as far as your combat abilities towards
- 15:13one another. That is definitely a skill thing
- 15:16that comes from within. But you know, you can't
- 15:20replicate that in crafting. You can't replicate that in a in
- 15:25a in a peaceful thing without having some sort of progression
- 15:28in the game because everybody would just be at the same level
- 15:33of crafting at that point. Whereas.
- 15:35With MPs you definitely have people who are much better than
- 15:38others as far as their combat abilities and that's in that's
- 15:43inherent, you know, so you have to replicate that.
- 15:47I think with crafting, it'll been organically, once you get
- 15:50into more complicated crafting, bigger industrial setups.
- 15:55I mean, some people will love the spreadsheets, right?
- 15:59They'll love having all the information on on where to get
- 16:03the best materials and how much they're going to need and, and
- 16:06what sort of resources they need for which fabricators and
- 16:09etcetera, etcetera. Whereas other people are like,
- 16:13no, like, you know, I, I might, I might put in the time to craft
- 16:16a suit of armor, but I have no interest in setting up an
- 16:19industrial base to be that guy that people come to buy stuff
- 16:24off of. That's where I think I think if
- 16:27they build in the workload it it could have its own skill
- 16:32ceilings as opposed to an artificial, you know bar goes up
- 16:36like I I have done this 100 times.
- 16:38Therefore, I am better at it than someone who's only done it
- 16:41once they. Could probably introduce a
- 16:43mechanic that requires some sort of level of skill in order to
- 16:46make it happen. You know, maybe a timing base
- 16:50thing or, you know, just your way of putting together certain
- 16:54things. I mean, we've, we've got all
- 16:56sorts of crazy mechanics that they can duplicate, I would
- 16:58think, but there definitely has to be I I just, I just really
- 17:01feel there definitely has to be something that sets a crafter,
- 17:05you know, who does it all the time and is now considered one
- 17:08of the best ones out there, you know, because if you can have
- 17:13one of the best FPS fighters ever, well, you know, you can
- 17:17have the best crafter, you know there has.
- 17:20To be FPS fighter because they just practiced, you know, they,
- 17:24they learned the insurance and outs of the game to make it
- 17:27happen. And I think that's what Chris
- 17:28has always said he wants it to be actually.
- 17:31It's got to be all skill based, not bar go up skill based, but
- 17:35just in the game, you know, playing the game and getting
- 17:39better. So do we see them making
- 17:43crafting gameplay? Like you have mining gameplay
- 17:47and it's a thing you do, right? You have salvage gameplay, which
- 17:52which we know is getting more complicated and maybe we can
- 17:54talk about that today, later. Is there a a crafting gameplay?
- 18:02I think there has to be, there has to be crafting gameplay.
- 18:05Because you know, who are you going to get all your stuff
- 18:09from? The guy who's going to grind it
- 18:11away. And he's not really doing
- 18:12gameplay. Like if you're going to be a
- 18:14merchant, you're probably crafting it all yourself too.
- 18:17So what? Is what is that gameplay right
- 18:20now, though? It's just like you bring
- 18:21everything to the list, to the machine, and the machine pops it
- 18:24out, right? Yes, yeah, OK.
- 18:27And it should, it should be more.
- 18:29I just feel it should be more than that.
- 18:30You know, you, you got to be able to be good at what you do,
- 18:34because otherwise it's just going to be a function rather
- 18:37than a, a loop. You know, I mean, it's or, or a,
- 18:41a way to define yourself. You know, I, I don't know, I, I,
- 18:44I just, I also think that, you know, the way they're talking
- 18:48about having, you know, stations that, you know, that they'll
- 18:54have like stock components and you can still get a gun.
- 18:57I think they need to eliminate that completely and the stations
- 19:01in different locations be stocked by the players.
- 19:05Yeah, OK. OK.
- 19:07Well, Laura Nubis, as always, you are welcome to stay on our
- 19:12couch. You just got to make a little
- 19:14bit of room here. You won't.
- 19:15You won't have to scoot over too far.
- 19:16The couch gets bigger the more people we have on it.
- 19:20Yeah, it's weird. It's like springs.
- 19:22I believe Duke this is the first time caller we have down here I.
- 19:28Think it is, I think it is. I think it's the first time I
- 19:30met this guy in in IRL once as well.
- 19:35Was that like Ohio, Ireland. Ireland.
- 19:39IRL Ireland in real life. OK, there he comes.
- 19:45Vertical Hatter, when you are ready, you can just accept that
- 19:49little menu there. It basically says that actually,
- 19:53I don't know what it says it's it's a legal thing.
- 19:57And then you can come on up to to the room Vertical.
- 19:59Oh, vertical was in in vertical is out.
- 20:02I don't know what happened there.
- 20:04Maybe he maybe vertical click do not consent.
- 20:09You know that could be it. We're going to try it one more
- 20:10time. Here we go.
- 20:11Here he comes, vertical Hatter. Love the goose, Love the Mohawk.
- 20:16This week's question. Crafting radar blueprints.
- 20:21What did I miss? My God.
- 20:24Well, unfortunately I I clicked on this by accident, but I
- 20:27actually do have opinions on this.
- 20:28So because I was Star Wars Galaxies a long time ago.
- 20:32So when you mentioned that it was looking like Star Wars
- 20:34Galaxies, I actually began to get a little bit more excited
- 20:36about what was to come. Yeah, here we go.
- 20:39Lord of the News has been waiting for this for weeks now.
- 20:42Well, every years. There are dozens of you.
- 20:47Maybe, maybe, maybe a few of us still on all those Star Wars
- 20:51Galaxies servers that are still up.
- 20:56But yeah, no, it it's, I was worried because in a lot of
- 20:58other games, you know, crafting is just sort of like gather
- 21:01resource, make items, so long as you have the so long as you have
- 21:06the skill to make that item. But it when it becomes like it's
- 21:09whole own economy, then you can have people who, like you said,
- 21:12become fully into the crafting profession.
- 21:16And like, that's kind of the area that I was interested in
- 21:19because I've always liked that like, you know, build a base,
- 21:22make things when friends come out and you want to get set up
- 21:25with good gear, you set them up with good gear and you still
- 21:27have the like sales to other people sort of thing that keeps
- 21:30you going and finding new blueprints is becomes kind of
- 21:33your game less than, you know, the like, I'm going to be the
- 21:36best FPS person or I'm going to be the best space combat person.
- 21:39Like I'm going to go out and explore and find the best
- 21:42resources to make X or Y or Z And like that seems cool.
- 21:45That's that's it's my jam when it comes to games.
- 21:49So. I don't know.
- 21:51So how? How can CIG do that?
- 21:54How can they make it its own sort of gameplay loop with its
- 21:59own reward? That's going to be the really
- 22:02difficult part for them, I think, because, you know, some
- 22:06of the discussion I've heard is like, OK, we're going to gate
- 22:09certain materials behind X or Y event and I, I get it, I
- 22:12understand it. But like, that means that craft,
- 22:17well, it may not be terrible because that means that crafters
- 22:20are going to are going to have to exist in large communities at
- 22:22that point, because people who are focused purely on crafting
- 22:25are not going to be the first, the people generally out on the
- 22:28front lines of things. They're going to have to really
- 22:32hammer down on exploration gameplay because finding new
- 22:35resources through exploration, other things like that is going
- 22:39to have to be a big part of it. Again, if we go back to Star
- 22:43Wars Galaxies, you had surveying, you had, you know,
- 22:45locating high quality resources on planets.
- 22:49And like you think about it, we we putter around some of these
- 22:52planets to look for nice places, races or other things like that.
- 22:55But like they're huge. You can't traverse these easily,
- 23:01even in a ship while you're flying around them.
- 23:05The the ability for players to fully map an entire planet's
- 23:10resources. I mean in theory if a Guild
- 23:13wanted to, I guess they they could, but it would take a
- 23:16concerted effort over months and months and months and months and
- 23:19months, maybe even years to even just get one planet.
- 23:22So. Is it crazy that I want the
- 23:24planets to be bigger? No, no it's not.
- 23:27I think that's a great idea. Make the planets bigger.
- 23:29Fuck it, make them a full side well.
- 23:32Make it as big as you want. Just make sure that there's
- 23:34there's meaningful things to do on them.
- 23:36Right, that's in CI GS mantra make it bigger, fuck it.
- 23:41Well, I'm talking about player cities.
- 23:43I know, I know. You remember how it was.
- 23:44I mean, Star Wars Galaxies is pretty much like like Star
- 23:50Citizen is not as revolutionary when you when you really talk
- 23:54about the concept of it being open world with also space
- 23:57combat. I mean, all that was in Galaxies
- 23:59as well. Yeah, but like you so so when
- 24:03you're seeing things like, you know, player cities being talked
- 24:06about and how that helps like merchants and economy and
- 24:09everything like that, like, I don't, I don't know if I mean,
- 24:12if the uninitiated have seen that work out and how it played
- 24:15out and just, I mean, man, you would find someone shop that was
- 24:19absolutely amazing, a legendary guy.
- 24:21And you knew like, oh shit, I better bring the money because
- 24:24this is going to be good. Right.
- 24:26And then also every so often you'd find the shop of some guy
- 24:29who had all of those skills, who was just puttering around with
- 24:32his friends and didn't give a screw what his prices were.
- 24:35And you hid where that shop was like viciously, because, you
- 24:41know, he was just doing it for the fun of it.
- 24:44But yeah, no, that's, that's, that's kind of the, that's kind
- 24:47of the crux of it. Player cities, other things like
- 24:49that. I there was for a while you
- 24:51could have like architects and designers and galaxies as well.
- 24:54I want to see if anything like that ever comes to or ever comes
- 24:57to Star Citizen, because like that.
- 24:59'D be wild too. How could we, when you're
- 25:02building a player city, how are we going to do city layout?
- 25:05How is an org going to organize their their town, other things
- 25:09like that? I want to.
- 25:10I want to know because when you just leave people to throw their
- 25:13stuff wherever, it gets kind of disorganized very quickly.
- 25:19Can I Can I Debbie down this? Sure, go for it.
- 25:22And you can call me Wicket if you want.
- 25:25I think they're that's where they're going to monetize some
- 25:27of that. I think they're going to have
- 25:29asset, maybe you can earn some and maybe you can do this, but
- 25:32they'll also sell like custom assets.
- 25:34Oh, I'm sure there's no. Way they're going to, Yeah, like
- 25:38buildings, roads, struts, like weird stuff.
- 25:43But I, you know, frankly, if, if what they if what they make
- 25:47money on is selling assets rather than ships later in the
- 25:50game or whatever. Fuck it that well, excuse me,
- 25:53sorry, I, I know I'm streaming. I shouldn't.
- 25:55It's OK, We're we're extreme. No, no, you can do that here.
- 25:57Oh sweet. Yeah, cool.
- 25:59Yeah, say it all you want, you're not monetized anywhere.
- 26:02Hooray. Well, I mean not Hooray, but
- 26:04still. Anyway, I know.
- 26:06It's good. It's good.
- 26:08We're going to, we're going to sell assets.
- 26:11Gonna sell assets. There you go.
- 26:12There's. Gonna be pictures of our assets.
- 26:14Actually, we're gonna sell JFX. It it was in that it was in that
- 26:17legal thing you clicked on I. Mean that it could be an
- 26:21interesting thing if like orgs are able to produce their own
- 26:24branded assets or have like yeah, even a even community
- 26:28things that eventually get sold. I'm I hate to lean back towards
- 26:32Warframe since it's a very different game, but they did
- 26:35have a community, a community skin store where they would
- 26:38every so often have like approved ones that made its way
- 26:41back into the game, which I thought was kind of a cool
- 26:43process. Will they ever do that here?
- 26:46Probably not, but like if they make their money selling assets,
- 26:50that's not something that's ever going to impact, you know, how
- 26:53people play the game other than its visual, other than its
- 26:56visual presentation and like it's it's something that they
- 27:00can continue to make money on because people want their
- 27:03shinies in game like cool, so. I don't want that as long as it
- 27:07doesn't get anything right. As long as you can still build a
- 27:11a basic bridge, you know, you're just you're just buying like the
- 27:15the special bridge, you get the suspension bridge or something
- 27:18like that. But as long as they don't block
- 27:21any game play behind that. You get the as opposed to you
- 27:24getting the like soul system style bridge or the, the the
- 27:29Seon bridge or whatever. You know, it's fine.
- 27:33I don't mind if they if they if they sell things that are
- 27:36aesthetic choices, if they start selling things where like, you
- 27:39know, oh, you can't get this particular kind of crafting
- 27:42unless you buy this one thing for your org, then that's not.
- 27:46Good. Yeah, no, that wouldn't work.
- 27:48But I could see them doing the because they talked about you're
- 27:52going to have to pay rent, right?
- 27:53If you're in like a high security and stuff.
- 27:56I could see it eventually being similar to EVE with their,
- 28:01what's it called, Anubis. You know, you can pay real money
- 28:03for it or you can actually buy it in game.
- 28:05Oh yeah, well, they had, they've already stated that they were
- 28:09going to be doing that with the with selling UEC, no.
- 28:13No, not the UEC in EVE. You got the what is it like your
- 28:18pilot license or there's oh to to actually pay for like your
- 28:22playing time, right, Which I don't want them to do a star
- 28:25system. This will be different, but in
- 28:27the same general idea where if you want to have properties you
- 28:31can work really hard to pay for it with in game money, or
- 28:34they'll give you the option to to pay for that rental fee with
- 28:38real money. You know I.
- 28:43Was going to say, then you get on to the you get on to the crux
- 28:46of like, well, how hard do you make that grind?
- 28:48Is it? Is it to what like are we
- 28:50looking at like Wicklow Idris grind for stupid things like?
- 28:55Are we looking in real life rent prices as of right now?
- 28:59Yeah. Definitely hope not.
- 29:02There's. No different.
- 29:03Thing rent, I can't get a break. Yeah, well, they they would give
- 29:07you, they would cut off access to that building if you didn't
- 29:10pay all the rent. And then what?
- 29:11You'd have to pay it up in order to start using it again.
- 29:14So you still keep the landscape. You just don't have, you know,
- 29:18the usability. Well, you said another good
- 29:22thing too, Variable, which was about the blueprints.
- 29:26So right now in in 4.7 when it comes out, a lot of the
- 29:30blueprints are going to be rewards for doing missions.
- 29:35And that to me was kind of worrying in that it goes back to
- 29:41one of those criticisms of Star Citizen, which is everything
- 29:44leads to to combat, right? Like I can't just be a minor or
- 29:52or a crafter and just stay peaceful.
- 29:55In order to get my blueprints I'm either going to have to
- 29:58engage in these combat missions or maybe buy the blueprints from
- 30:03people who are doing those combat missions, which I guess
- 30:05maybe that one's not as bad, but but still, I'd like to see those
- 30:09blueprints as rewards for non combat.
- 30:14Can I, can I disagree with you here on this and be
- 30:16controversial before we before we, we're going to have to go to
- 30:19commercial break very soon. But I think I think it's totally
- 30:23OK to to have stuff hidden behind.
- 30:27Like. No, because like that it makes
- 30:31those missions or those events more valuable.
- 30:35Like when you do an event in Star Citizen and you get the
- 30:39stupid coin, right? That's basically like an NFT
- 30:42like it's not it has value to you, right, right.
- 30:45Maybe maybe it'll have some utility later, but right now it
- 30:49has value to you and you have it in your in your hangar and
- 30:52stuff. But then you get like the, the
- 30:54gun or the the multi tool, the multi tool you get from doing
- 30:57the events. It's got a little utility and
- 30:59you got it from the event and it has meaning and it's special to
- 31:02you and you don't want to lose it.
- 31:03Why can't blueprints have the same thing where like you have
- 31:06to do something pretty specific to get it, and maybe you can
- 31:10only do that thing, you know, for these three months and then
- 31:14after those three months you don't get it anymore?
- 31:17Why can't we apply that same logic to mission types?
- 31:20You know, there there's one that you have to do combat for, but
- 31:22there's one that you have to do mining for.
- 31:25As long as there's a mix, I think that's fine.
- 31:27That was my my concern was that it seems like it's all it's
- 31:31going to be, all combat. Well, it's all jump towns all
- 31:35the way down. It's all Jump town, it's true at
- 31:37the end of the day. Yeah.
- 31:40Vertibul Hatta, you are more than welcome to to stand the
- 31:43couch. You could leave, you could stand
- 31:44the couch, you could do as you like.
- 31:46The couch does get bigger, but it is about time we bring on our
- 31:49next guest. But before we do that, Vertibul.
- 31:53This show is sponsored by Cruise Lux.
- 31:56Cruise Lux is a refreshing yellow drink that you can drink
- 32:00while you play soccer or basketball or or.
- 32:05What's Scott? What's the sport in Star?
- 32:06City. Scatiball or.
- 32:09Scatiball. Greasy squares.
- 32:12But also, what if you're throwing up?
- 32:16What if you ate some bad sushi or got the norovirus and you're
- 32:22vomiting everywhere? What could refresh you and give
- 32:26you electrolytes? Cruz lux.
- 32:30Give no fucks. Cruz, Lux. 20% SLAM by volume.
- 32:36Thank you. Thank you all, it's what we
- 32:38crave. Anyway, off to the audience with
- 32:40me. Thanks all.
- 32:41Goodbye Vertable, it was a pleasure having you it.
- 32:44Was a pleasure. Vertable Hatter everybody Debut
- 32:47Debut guest time on the show. Best caller ever.
- 32:51Best caller ever. Better.
- 32:53Better than the hosts, to be honest with you.
- 32:55Yeah. I think we should just make him
- 32:56take over, put him back up here. Put him back up here.
- 33:00We're all we'll all sign off. Yeah.
- 33:03His voice is silky. Yeah, actually veritable.
- 33:07I told you, I think I met him and, and he's, he's he, he has a
- 33:10face for radio. Yeah, he does.
- 33:13Yeah, he. Does well, he left.
- 33:16This this next guy we're about to bring up plays a lot of Star
- 33:18Citizen also has a face for radio.
- 33:22And honestly, ever the optimist, it is wicked, wicked, wicked.
- 33:28Welcome to Overcomes Radio, your Star Citizen call in show this
- 33:31week's question crafting radar blueprints.
- 33:35What did I miss? I think we should make a talk
- 33:38about radar. Long time listener, occasional
- 33:42caller, and I don't know man, this crafting is kind of got
- 33:52mixed feelings about it to be honest.
- 33:54But not to be too optimistic with it.
- 33:57I mean, it's, it's a start, it's better than nothing.
- 33:59I mean, before we had, you know, .5 where we're just duping all
- 34:03our weapons and different components and BS and saying
- 34:10we're not really duping because we're paying a UEC to repair
- 34:15whatever. I think so far the the best use
- 34:21of the crafting machine is to make it a GIMP box and throw
- 34:25somebody in it and close the door.
- 34:27What? OK.
- 34:30You can, you can, you can lock somebody inside.
- 34:32It's like bounty hunting .5. Please describe to us what a
- 34:37GIMP box is describe. Yeah, I don't get your
- 34:40reference. And the concepts behind it
- 34:42please. Thank you.
- 34:45A GIMP box is. Yes.
- 34:48You have a GIMP, which is a usually a human person in a skin
- 34:53tight suit. You know, why are you going to
- 34:55say human? Well, I've never.
- 34:59Seen a blue? A blue GIMP.
- 35:04Even if you know I. Mean in any event, in any event,
- 35:08I mean that's a big digression in the in the nonsense, but the
- 35:14the crafting is I just hope to God that this is just like
- 35:20really, really early days and they're going to really expand
- 35:23on it because it's it's I think it still goes back to the
- 35:27resources with you have different met different
- 35:31resources, different ORS that have quality.
- 35:33It's the I think that's still the dumbest thing ever.
- 35:37I I think if they want to to make rare resources or make
- 35:42difficulty in crafting, they should make components.
- 35:46You know, if you want a higher level component or a weapon to
- 35:51be made, you use more rare components to make it, and
- 35:55that's your inherent rarity and your and that becomes the
- 35:58quality in and of itself. You know, then you make a
- 36:01resource that's rare out in the burst and it's maybe fought
- 36:05over. There's a competition to get it
- 36:07to find it. And I mean, it's kind of the
- 36:10same thing with quality. But you know, we're in a
- 36:12supposed to be let's this game slash SIM.
- 36:16It's like walking this tightrope between SIM and game.
- 36:20You know, just to get off, just to, to, to get into a ship, you
- 36:24got to, you got to get out of your hotel room, you got to walk
- 36:27down to the hangar. You got to get your ship up the
- 36:29elevator. You got to jump on the ship, you
- 36:32got to turn the engines on, make sure you have enough fuel.
- 36:34You have to talk to ATC to get out of the hangar.
- 36:37Slow down. I'm going to, I'm just saying,
- 36:44I'm just saying this is like this whole procedure and and we
- 36:46haven't even done anything yet. We've just left the hangar and
- 36:50now you got this. You got this crafting system.
- 36:54It's like OK cup of sugar, some basil, some salt.
- 36:59And a pepper. Yeah, it, you know, press go out
- 37:03pops a, a, a, a gun. So I mean to be fair.
- 37:07Though that is 3D printing that basically.
- 37:11I mean, you basically do that today with, yeah, you put in the
- 37:14blueprint, you put in the materials.
- 37:16Basic printer Go. That's not true.
- 37:17That's not true. You can just make components in
- 37:213D printing. But like, let's say if you
- 37:23wanted to print something more complex, you'd have to make
- 37:26multiple components and then re and then assemble those
- 37:28components into. Something but, but I mean, but
- 37:31it's, you know, it's there. You see, you can see how this is
- 37:33going to iterate in the next 100 years, right?
- 37:35Now my my thing. Is I bet the military can 3D
- 37:38print UFOs and and all kinds of stuff.
- 37:42You know, we've talked about this in the past.
- 37:44I think that they should get away from this quality crap.
- 37:49Just make rare components and then to make more complex and
- 37:54more like more badass weapons or you know, the plus one sword,
- 37:59the plus three sword or the plus 6 gun or whatever it is, higher
- 38:04fire rate, more damage, whatever that may be.
- 38:07You have to get rare components, but not only that, you have to
- 38:12refine those components into better, you know, if you want
- 38:16better quality, like if you want steel instead of iron, you need
- 38:19to refine iron and coal and you get steel and then you have
- 38:22steel. Then you, you make something out
- 38:24of that. Not only that, to make it even
- 38:27to like to, to kind of touch on what Anubis said originally
- 38:31about, you know, where's the skill come in?
- 38:34Well you know crafting in most Mmos has been solved for 20 plus
- 38:41years. One of the best crafting systems
- 38:44from what I'm understand is, you know, Star Wars Galaxies.
- 38:49Wow, and that was you too, huh? Well, I'm hold on.
- 38:53Wait a second. I'm just going by what Anubis
- 38:55has told me about it. OK, see this is what I'm getting
- 38:57at here. What?
- 38:58What? I am correct?
- 39:00Suddenly he believes everything the blue guy says.
- 39:03If if another another person in the common here start talking
- 39:05about Star Wars Galaxies, I'm going to get suspicious.
- 39:07I don't know what happened when I was gone.
- 39:09You can still play Star Wars Galaxy Show.
- 39:12Well, the the point is, is that, you know, Star Wars was not over
- 39:19Star Wars Star Citizen was not created in a vacuum.
- 39:23They have all this legacy of all these older games to fall back
- 39:26on and to get ideas from, or literally just steal them.
- 39:30Steal the idea and expound on it and make it better, make it its
- 39:34own. You know, hell, World of
- 39:36Warcraft, some of the crafting recipes in there, you make
- 39:39things and you take those made things and make those into other
- 39:42things. I mean there's levels to this
- 39:43game. You know the I think the way we
- 39:48could do complexity and to maybe make some skill into it.
- 39:51First of all, this idea that you get the blueprint and it just
- 39:55magically pops in your head and now you have it forever.
- 39:59That's BSI think you should. Blueprint should be a
- 40:03physicalized document or something that you have to put
- 40:06in inventory. So now you have the chance of
- 40:09losing it. Not only that, you take that
- 40:13blueprint and you have to install it into your crafting
- 40:16machine and once it's installed, it's in that machine.
- 40:19So now if you lose that machine, you lose that blueprint.
- 40:23It's diabolical. I I think there's an easier way
- 40:26to call this. Instead of calling them
- 40:28blueprints, you can call them licenses.
- 40:29I mean, any manufacturer who works for someone, you know, or
- 40:34has a, has a license to manufacture, they'd only have it
- 40:37for so many. That's negotiated.
- 40:39And I think we can skip the whole blueprint thing and just,
- 40:41I mean, it's the modern, the modern world right now works
- 40:45with digital files. I I work in this in this
- 40:48industry but like. Don't you have to you, you've
- 40:50you've used the 3D printer before, right?
- 40:53You have AI. Own I own a couple you have.
- 40:56I do this for a living. OK, well when you design
- 41:00something to be printed, it's a document, it's a file, and those
- 41:05in that file in that quote UN quote blueprint gives the
- 41:08printer instructions on what to do.
- 41:12Yeah. And we also we.
- 41:13Also, and you have to install that data into the.
- 41:16Printer, right? Yeah.
- 41:18However, however we are also an OEM so we do sub licensing with
- 41:25other manufacturers, but they are licensed to to to make some
- 41:29of our stuff up to a limit so that my company we design the
- 41:35the. Prototype.
- 41:35Yeah. About Anubis.
- 41:36That's not the. Point other companies, but what
- 41:38I'm saying is you would be the other company in the game
- 41:42somewhere with yeah. Regardless, regardless, you
- 41:45still have to send them the file.
- 41:46Yeah, you have to send them the print file or whatever the
- 41:48instructions are, right? Yeah, the.
- 41:50You know, it's not some magic, it's not some magic thing that
- 41:54oh, you completed a mission. Now you get the the the the.
- 41:58I mean you can have both. The Mars off helmet, you know.
- 42:03I mean, I think it's just say, hey, you can print.
- 42:04Magically in your knowledge base now, which you know, when you're
- 42:09straddling this line of being a simulation slash game or a game
- 42:16slash simulation, where's the simulation in that?
- 42:19You know, that just seems kind of like Hocus Pocus.
- 42:22Now, before I forget, I want to touch on one more thing about
- 42:25the crafting thing and and where the skill or maybe a progression
- 42:31system would come into play would be some kind of tech tree
- 42:35in lieu of having like experience or something like
- 42:38that. You have to you know, you have
- 42:40to make so many of a thing to unlock the next level of a text
- 42:45tree. Then that would now you know,
- 42:48maybe it could be a simple of OK, I've unlocked to level 2 of
- 42:51the tech tree for handguns, laser based handguns.
- 42:55And how did I do that? Well I'm I crafted 10 or 20 of
- 43:00those and now I'm able to understand and implement the
- 43:03tech 2 blueprints into the machine or into my head or
- 43:07whatever the mechanic becomes. I I like that because you just
- 43:11exactly described how Star Wars Galaxy works.
- 43:15Dude, I just fucking. It all comes back to it.
- 43:19All goes back to Star Wars Galaxies.
- 43:22It's all galaxies all the way down.
- 43:24All the way down Star Wars the. Reason I feel like we're going
- 43:27to pull. Back the the curtain of Star
- 43:28Citizen and it's just going to be Chris Roberts.
- 43:31Star Wars, It's going to be George.
- 43:32Luke is laughing with old Baby Yoda at the bottom.
- 43:36Oh my. God medley going ha ha ha if if
- 43:39you played the game you'd get that one.
- 43:41In in any event, the reason this is all comes back to other games
- 43:47is because you don't have to reinvent the wheel.
- 43:51You just have to decide what wheel you want to use, how many
- 43:54spokes, you know, do we is it going to be a hard wheel?
- 43:58Do we have rubber? Do we have tires?
- 44:00What you know, is there an axle? What's going on here?
- 44:03This is what they have to come to grips with.
- 44:05But this thing that we have now, I mean, I guess it's a good
- 44:08start. It's better than nothing.
- 44:10We have something, but I sure hope they'd get away from this,
- 44:13this quality metal stuff. I, I think it's so dumb.
- 44:17I think where the quality should come in is in the refinement of
- 44:21the materials. That's another game loop that
- 44:23you can tie into mining, mining, refining, crafting, you know,
- 44:28the three pillars of almost every crafting system.
- 44:34I think they're just missing, you know, they're, they're
- 44:38they're, they're a little bit short on, on, on their vision.
- 44:41Maybe, I don't know if it's maybe they have that in mind.
- 44:44And that's just going to be progressively introduced to us
- 44:47as more of the mechanics are included into the to the game
- 44:52where all that kind of stuff works, because we don't have
- 44:54anything like that right now. From what I understand, that is
- 44:58the plan eventually. But that's what I would hope to
- 45:02see something, something kind of what I've outlined and touching
- 45:06on some of these all kind of mechanics of crafting,
- 45:10gathering, refining, these of all these are all solved
- 45:14equations. You know, it's just you just
- 45:16need to figure out what your recipe for, for our game is
- 45:19going to be and implement that. And, and I think as long as
- 45:24everybody's not real happy about it, that's probably the way you
- 45:26want to go. Well, if you're listening to the
- 45:30show right now and you're not happy at all, then you know
- 45:32you're in the right place. This is open Comms radio, your
- 45:34Star Citizen call in show. You can call in every week.
- 45:38We're live Wednesday nights. At what time is it 9:00 PM
- 45:41Eastern Time or? Eastern Daylight Time.
- 45:44Time. Yeah, we switch.
- 45:46PM in the correct time zone. Yeah, I had to wiki.
- 45:50You caught me. You were like the time's wrong
- 45:52on the show which it's crazy that doesn't auto change but
- 45:56whatever. There's a new caller.
- 45:58We have a new caller in the waiting.
- 46:00The way this works is every week you can come on up here and and
- 46:04make a call and call on in. We have Bill waiting for us in
- 46:09the waiting room. So Bill, all you got to do is
- 46:11say you consent to to being on the show here.
- 46:16It puts you on live and then all your your voices will be heard.
- 46:20Bill, welcome to Oprah comms radio, your star system call in
- 46:23show crafting radar blueprints. What did I miss?
- 46:29Inventory, new inventory. Did you say that that's kind of
- 46:32cool. Can you hear me?
- 46:35Oh yeah, right. That's.
- 46:36Right. Oh yeah, we can.
- 46:37Yeah. Oh OK, good.
- 46:39Sorry. I'm driving back.
- 46:40I had to drop my kid off at her mom's big New York trip tomorrow
- 46:44for her, so she's doing cool stuff.
- 46:47Nice. But yeah, I basically spent all
- 46:52day, you know, working, of course, doing the working thing.
- 46:57That's what Bill's a working man.
- 47:00Watching the PTU wave 1 stuff people were putting out and I
- 47:07mean, yeah, right now it's buggy as hell, but it's wave 1.
- 47:12I don't think we've ever had a wave 1 to live PTO jump.
- 47:16But yeah, I'm excited for it. It looks.
- 47:19Oh, I want to get into that QV station so bad.
- 47:22All I want to do is run around and shoot people and I don't
- 47:26even want to get into the giant rock.
- 47:28I don't care about the giant rock.
- 47:31Go ahead. What's in the QV station?
- 47:35The QV station and Nick's, it's like there's like 120 asteroid
- 47:40bases, if you will, and you got to turn the power back on in it,
- 47:44and then it cracks open, this giant asteroid and then you fly
- 47:48inside the asteroid and mine a bunch of minables.
- 47:53Oh wow. And it's supposed to be like
- 47:55super high quality. Like the dude I was watching
- 47:57today, he got like 900 rated, some sort of metal.
- 48:03I don't know what the hell it was, but something in there.
- 48:07I watched one this morning and they had like 500 quality only
- 48:11or 600 maybe it wasn't. Everybody's really disappointed.
- 48:16Yeah, so I was watching. I don't know, I don't, you know,
- 48:18whatever. I'm going to shot him out.
- 48:20Ollie, 43 and he got in there, took him about 9 hours, a couple
- 48:25different tries, but he got in the rock and one of them had
- 48:29like a 900 quality deal on it. He didn't do crafting or
- 48:33anything with that material yet 'cause I'm assuming he was a
- 48:37tire boy. But yeah, I'm real excited for
- 48:41it. The, when it comes to the, the
- 48:43ship armor and stuff like that, I don't really know a lot about
- 48:47that 'cause I think the ship armor is changing and they're
- 48:49changing the way some of the guns do gun things.
- 48:54But overall I'm, I just, I want to play in the PTU, but I don't
- 49:00want to subscribe. I'm sick of subscriptions, I'm
- 49:03sure as everyone else is. Yep.
- 49:08Too many to even know what I've got.
- 49:10And like, I don't, I don't know Wave 2.
- 49:12What does Wave 2 consist of? How do you get into that?
- 49:14Is that another subscriber deal? Like if you play like a ton.
- 49:24Based off play time, that makes sense.
- 49:27Or was it if it maybe it's play time and post to the issue
- 49:31council or something like that? Yep.
- 49:34Nope, I think you're right. I've heard that somewhere.
- 49:35I wasn't sure which wave that was for, but yeah, that tracks.
- 49:39That makes a lot of sense. The radar stuff you mentioned,
- 49:43what? What exactly was trading
- 49:45changing with the radar? Different qualities of radar and
- 49:52how much energy you give it will now impact your auto aim how and
- 49:58in the radical and and I think that I don't know if it's
- 50:01detection range and the auto aim or if it's one or one or the
- 50:05other, but that's not. It.
- 50:07It definitely detection range. Yeah, the the power pips right,
- 50:12you can assign more to radar and then did they also say they were
- 50:16physicalizing the radar component or no, Yeah, it.
- 50:19Can be destroyed. They're working on it but also
- 50:22it but the different radar sizes will give you the aim assisted
- 50:26different ranges. Some of our oldies did some
- 50:29testing and radars can now be destroyed and then then you
- 50:34don't have a pip. You can.
- 50:35You may still be able to fire, but you're just not going to
- 50:38have a pip. That's interesting.
- 50:40That's real sweaty. I'm going to destroy this guy's
- 50:42radar so you can't target me. But yeah, I mean, it sounds cool
- 50:46if if they like, if you get a big one in there with a bunch of
- 50:49power, maybe I can finally shoot other ships in my ship.
- 50:53I don't know, I've never been good at that, but maybe it'll
- 50:56help me, maybe it won't 'cause they'll just destroy it right
- 51:00away. Who knows?
- 51:01Either way, I try to stay away from that stuff.
- 51:03You know, pacifist Bill. But and then I did see the
- 51:09tractor beam, like the info when you grab an object, it tells you
- 51:14exactly what's in it. How much is in there with the
- 51:18percentage? So like if the box is 100% full,
- 51:21it shows 100, if it's 95%, whatever.
- 51:24And then it tells you also the average quality of the material
- 51:27in the box when you have the tractor beam lifted in the air,
- 51:30which is pretty cool. Nice.
- 51:34The crafter thing, the fabricator deal, I saw couple
- 51:38people using that and one of the bonuses you got from using like
- 51:41a 600 quality aluminum for a pistol was I think it was -10%
- 51:47for recoil plus 14% for recoil suppressiveness or something.
- 51:53And like like the that increases on the weapons was pretty cool.
- 51:58Yeah, they were going much more aggressive than that than I
- 52:01thought they would, which I think is is neat.
- 52:04Hopefully, you know, they might have to tweak it and balance it
- 52:06a little bit once everybody starts walking around with with
- 52:09crafted weapons, but. I think that might be on purpose
- 52:13to get more people to use it. Yeah, that could be because
- 52:18otherwise why wouldn't we just go to the store?
- 52:21Yeah, exactly. And you figure if you craft
- 52:23yourself something with all high, high materials and then
- 52:27also throw on top of a a compensator, laser sight, fancy
- 52:32scope, I mean, we're going to be walking around with no recoil.
- 52:37How cool is that? If they stack, I don't know if
- 52:40they'll stack with the compensator benefits and all
- 52:43that jazz. Or you could run silencers and
- 52:46it wouldn't reduce the stats as much.
- 52:48I mean, it all sounds like good stuff, fun stuff, something to
- 52:54do. Yeah, yeah, that's what I spend
- 52:57a lot of my time doing until I until I think I've perfected it,
- 53:01you know, until I've perfected my gun and then it's like I'll
- 53:04never touch another gun. You know.
- 53:07Once I have the one I like, which is yeah, maybe I will
- 53:10though I'll have different kinds of guns and stuff, but.
- 53:12Sure. And then now you think like,
- 53:14since you die and you just respawn at your spawn plate with
- 53:17your stuff other than what's in your bag, I mean, 'cause like
- 53:22you do when you die like that, and if you have a gun on the
- 53:24side of your bag, do you lose that gun too or no?
- 53:28You keep that gun, right? I think they're doing away with
- 53:31that. Pain, pain.
- 53:33They're going to go back. To letting people steal from
- 53:37you. I hate that so much because I'm
- 53:41a big PV ear in rust. I.
- 53:45Don't know how many people here know what Rust is, but oh.
- 53:48Yeah, now how? Old is rust.
- 53:50How do you play rust? PVPVP or PVE?
- 53:54E environment I don't like playing against people.
- 53:56I can't shoot people, but not good at it and.
- 53:59I lose all. Oh, is that even?
- 54:00Possible. They're servers.
- 54:03Really. Yeah, hang on one second here.
- 54:05I just pulled in. Let me go ahead and go on to
- 54:07someone else. I'm going to jump on my
- 54:08computer. No, this is perfect.
- 54:11So while perfect Bill and pacifist Bill and I perfect.
- 54:15Perfect, Bill. Perfect.
- 54:16No, perfect. Damn it, I've shown my card some
- 54:21blushing. No, but so here on Open Comms
- 54:25Radio, we like to give back to the community and that's why we
- 54:30have a giveaway going on right now.
- 54:31I don't know if you heard about this Pacifist Bill.
- 54:34Did you see the giveaway? Is that in the discord?

- 55:22I can't log into the back end of Deezer I.
- 55:24Don't even know what that means. I don't even know what that is,
- 55:28right? So you could just say you're on
- 55:30Deezer and I'll just have to believe you.
- 55:34I'm a Deezer supporter. So anyway, if you do that, you
- 55:40might get a free copy of a of a really cool game that I've been
- 55:42playing. I played for a little bit and it
- 55:44was a lot of fun. A solid few hours into it.
- 55:48So there you go. Hold this over till 4.7. 4.7
- 55:54could be any day now, Bill. No.
- 55:56Come on Wave 1, right to life. No way.
- 56:00Come on, give. Me, it seems big, but it's the
- 56:0311th I I could say I could see it in a week.
- 56:05Maybe. What does that mean?
- 56:06The date. Yeah, today's the March 11th.
- 56:11It's a Wednesday. So do they do patches usually
- 56:14come out mid month or? The the last, last month's, the
- 56:20last two months. Patches came out Wednesday
- 56:24because we were filming the show.
- 56:27Yeah. Interesting.
- 56:28Usually mid month. OK Yeah.
- 56:32So we couldn't talk. We we like, we got to talk about
- 56:34it right away. And then the other day it was
- 56:36like people were playing while we were doing the show.
- 56:38Oh. OK.
- 56:40Yeah, it was fun. All right, guys.
- 56:43So this week we talked a lot about crafting.
- 56:47We talked a little bit about radar, we talked a little bit
- 56:49about blueprints, but we haven't talked about new ships because
- 56:56there aren't any to talk about. As they say, whether they don't
- 56:58help, these are new shifts. When's the last time this has
- 57:02happened? The new ship came out without a
- 57:05patch. Well, we haven't seen that.
- 57:08I mean, the patch isn't released.
- 57:09Maybe there's a secret surprise ship?
- 57:12Do you think so? No, not really.
- 57:14I was just saying that 500. I I saw somebody.
- 57:17Today. Someone talked about the Aurora
- 57:22Mark 2. Oh yeah, is that in the patch?
- 57:28That could be coming with this. I mean, that's the Aurora.
- 57:33So it's not. That's the origin 500I.
- 57:35That'd be cool too. Origin's cool.
- 57:40It's very interesting. It's very quiet.
- 57:42We haven't and and it it is spring, we do have April Fool's
- 57:48Day coming. They always do something for
- 57:49April Fool's Day. That's the April first.
- 57:53Remember they had the Raptor that was an April Fool's joke.
- 57:57And then the next year they're like, hey, we're we're actually
- 57:59going to make that. And maybe you'll be able to
- 58:01drive it. But we've never had such a long
- 58:04stint without any ships to talk about well.
- 58:08We had the Hermes last wipe or last.
- 58:11Yeah, yeah. But that was also like they
- 58:14talked about it for like, I don't know, it feels like a
- 58:17couple months and then it came out and we haven't had anything
- 58:20since then. What about ship rentals?
- 58:24Do ship rentals get updated every time?
- 58:27Well they had the origin ship rental.
- 58:32No that was they had the RSI in game ship rentals.
- 58:36The. Origin sale, Yeah.
- 58:38Because because I know this with this patch, there's the Shiv.
- 58:44You can rent that or no. You can buy it from I think
- 58:51Teaches or Wicklow or somebody. I don't.
- 58:55Know so you can buy the ship in game so that's kind of cool.
- 59:03Do you, do you think the lack of a ship sale, I mean what feels
- 59:08to me like a lull, but would you everyone would agree we're in
- 59:11kind of a ship lull the last couple of months?
- 59:16Am I crazy? I think I can't say much because
- 59:19the Hermes is awesome. I love that thing, but.
- 59:21Go on, Sir. We did, I don't.
- 59:23We did get the Hermes, but like, what else?
- 59:26And and they're not teasing anything else and they're not
- 59:28advertising anything else. So do you, do you think this is
- 59:31maybe a sign of what's to come? It's a sign that they're going
- 59:35to complete some of the stuff that's already in the pipeline.
- 59:38That'd be. Nice for a change.
- 59:40Yeah, and I would be OK with like sneaky releases, right?
- 59:44Like not tell anybody and just be like bang, Origin 500.
- 59:47Here you go boys. Go play Iron.
- 59:49Ironclad. Yeah, you can Ironclad in there.
- 59:54Everybody would go crazy. Ironclad's out.
- 59:57Ironclad's out. Well, I think somebody's.
- 1:00:00Is it in Gray box now? I don't know.
- 1:00:02I think it is, yeah. It's it's way up there.
- 1:00:05Anyway, I'll just say keep on keeping on.
- 1:00:09They've had those, those last couple Iscs where they talked a
- 1:00:12bunch of stuff was kind of, you know, kind of getting back to
- 1:00:18the, to the letting the, the, the developers kind of talk
- 1:00:22about stuff a little bit more openly and, and their process
- 1:00:27and how things are going and stuff.
- 1:00:30It. It seemed like over the last
- 1:00:32couple like years gone by, everybody, you know, they felt
- 1:00:35like you, you could tell that they wanted to talk, but they
- 1:00:38didn't know what they could say or what they couldn't say.
- 1:00:41And I think that's kind of loosening a little bit now.
- 1:00:44Is the IFC, is that the big like convention thing they do in the
- 1:00:48summer? No, that's the the twitch, the
- 1:00:50weekly or semi weekly when Jared goes live and stuff.
- 1:00:55Oh. Inside Star Citizen.
- 1:00:58And then OK, gotcha. Hey, can we, can we talk about
- 1:01:03the last, not a well one of the last two SCLS?
- 1:01:06Can we talk about the sound one for a second?
- 1:01:09Can we talk about that dude's hair?
- 1:01:11He should have kept us down. I love that, but we were.
- 1:01:16Talking about that dude like something about Mary.
- 1:01:19Yeah, yeah, we were talking about him.
- 1:01:21Something about Mary. Is that is that hair gel?
- 1:01:30Yeah, so sound guy's back. And when we first met sound guy,
- 1:01:36we should know his name, especially if we're gonna if
- 1:01:38we're gonna tease him. But.
- 1:01:41Sound so hyped. Was well, he was hyping himself,
- 1:01:45right? Yeah.
- 1:01:46We're gonna do this. We're gonna do this so quickly.
- 1:01:49You know, I can't do the voice. Duke can do the voice.
- 1:01:51He pulled back. I can do the voice pull.
- 1:01:54Back a little bit, his hair, his hair is sticking up.
- 1:01:57He's like, oh wow. And.
- 1:01:59And. He just did a year at CIG,
- 1:02:00that's why he. Did the year at CIG under the
- 1:02:03table trying to plug in the soundboard and his hair all.
- 1:02:06Fucked up with. Static.
- 1:02:08Yes. Yes, he's.
- 1:02:11See, we, we said, we said he would break and he's broken.
- 1:02:15And the kicker was when someone asked a question about the
- 1:02:19realistic sound mode and they were just like, yeah, we're not
- 1:02:22doing that. It's like.
- 1:02:24Oh jeez. I was like, dude, come on, come
- 1:02:30on everybody you know, which is a real disappointment for me.
- 1:02:34It really the the realistic sound mode is the sound mode I
- 1:02:37wanted. That's the one I'm playing in.
- 1:02:40I don't care about your cinematic sounds.
- 1:02:44Just turn your headset off. No, but if you get you can like
- 1:02:50hear it you. Know just put on some noise
- 1:02:51cancelling headphones and use your regular speakers.
- 1:02:55Yeah, yeah. So it's all muffled.
- 1:02:57Or we could just we could just help you go deaf.
- 1:02:59We'll say that giant laser beam you use to cut the rock open,
- 1:03:03the asteroid was loud as hell. So you may like that, you may
- 1:03:10not, but it was loud as shit. Like I couldn't believe it.
- 1:03:14I was like, Oh my God, no wonder they had the sound team.
- 1:03:17Come on now. I I pulled up the Star Citizen
- 1:03:20YouTube on my TV real quick. I see what you're talking about.
- 1:03:23The ship audio team one. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:25Yeah, that's probably why they did that.
- 1:03:27They're like, hey, we're going to, we're going to hike these
- 1:03:29guys up so they can blow out their eardrums when they do this
- 1:03:31big ass, stupid laser thing. Yeah, so I mean, I'm obviously
- 1:03:39I'm, I'm optimistic, I'm happy. They do have a lot of sounds to
- 1:03:42go through clearly. And if they're they're redoing
- 1:03:47everything, I don't know it, it seems it seems slow but
- 1:03:54purposeful. I liked during that when they
- 1:03:58were like, oh, what's his name? Can someone look up his name for
- 1:04:03me? Because I, I, I stand up hair
- 1:04:07guy, they're like, oh. Simon Gershon.
- 1:04:09Simon Gershon Simon just like, makes noises with his mouth.
- 1:04:15I'm. Looking for images.
- 1:04:19He's had a lot of bad hair days. Yeah, I think that's his style.
- 1:04:23But like, he like, he just like makes noises with his mouth and
- 1:04:26like, tells us what it sounds like.
- 1:04:28We just do it. And I'm like, dude, this is like
- 1:04:29the most eccentric person. Like, is he wearing a
- 1:04:33turtleneck? I don't know.
- 1:04:35That's what you want, man. You want somebody with, with a,
- 1:04:39with a brain that works different, you know, bring in
- 1:04:42some crazy ideas. And yeah, because I the one
- 1:04:45sound thing that I am sick and tired of hearing in Star Citizen
- 1:04:49is the wet fart noise that currently stands in for most of
- 1:04:54the laser weapons on the ships. It, it just sounds like wet
- 1:04:59farts. That's it.
- 1:05:00I, I don't feel like I'm in a spaceship, you know, fighting
- 1:05:03bad guys and, you know, *. Wars and all.
- 1:05:06That no, it's just, it's just wet farts.
- 1:05:09Remind me to try to put some wet fart laser sounds in or.
- 1:05:11Yeah, just all you have to do is just take some from Star
- 1:05:14Citizen. That's what it is, yeah.
- 1:05:16Yeah, yeah, he's yeah. What what?
- 1:05:19What laser has the wet fart sound do?
- 1:05:21You have all of them. They all just well, except like
- 1:05:23like the NDBS don't but look so like, I don't know, the
- 1:05:26Attritions and Panthers and all the laser cannons.
- 1:05:30It's just what? It's just wet farts.
- 1:05:35Totally put that pair up on purpose.
- 1:05:37All the way down. Yeah, he knew he was.
- 1:05:40He knew this was his TV time. But notice he.
- 1:05:42Didn't. Yeah, the first one.
- 1:05:44I think the first one he was wearing a hat or something.
- 1:05:48You know, for good reason. I can deal with those sounds,
- 1:05:50but I can't deal with the fact that every NPC is.
- 1:05:53We go to find him right now. He got your cousin.
- 1:05:57Oh, my cousin. Why?
- 1:05:59Does everybody look sound like they're from the from?
- 1:06:06Yeah, God. Well, Simon Gershon, we love
- 1:06:09you, we support you and keep keep on making the great work.
- 1:06:14Hey. Man, there's somebody in the
- 1:06:16audience got a hand up. Oh, here we go.
- 1:06:19Here we go. All right, this this guy's been
- 1:06:21on. Coming back, He's coming back.
- 1:06:22Lord Anubis was right. Lord Anubis texted me that
- 1:06:25Vertical Hatter would be back. Here he is.
- 1:06:29I just had the. The wet farts brought him back.
- 1:06:33That's true. The wet farts brought me back.
- 1:06:34I I just had to come in and agree on that.
- 1:06:36They they are the the sound for the general lasers are not
- 1:06:42inspiring. It's it's why I used MDBS back
- 1:06:46when you could just buy them flatly and quarrelers also
- 1:06:49because they made like a very like a very like soul fulfilling
- 1:06:53Pew Pew noise that I was like, yes, that is the.
- 1:06:55Laser noise like. A but yeah, that's interesting.
- 1:07:02OK, I don't know why the, the, the particular soundscape of a
- 1:07:05like of, of the stupid weapons that they use is so impactful
- 1:07:11for some dumb reason. Like, you know that that doesn't
- 1:07:14change anything about the actual weapon itself.
- 1:07:16But you're like, you're like, wow, that was the most like
- 1:07:19uninspired sound. I feel not epic right now.
- 1:07:25And some games do it so well, like old ass games.
- 1:07:28Some of them like have Mechwarrior online, OK, like if
- 1:07:33you were playing Mechwarrior, right?
- 1:07:34Like the different, all the different lasers and weapons,
- 1:07:37Like there's, you know, there's you got some really satisfying
- 1:07:39daka daka awesome lasers. And then you go into Star
- 1:07:43Citizen, which is visually above everything.
- 1:07:46And then you're you're flying around attacking your enemies
- 1:07:49with wet farts. Yeah, the the Mechwarrior
- 1:07:52mercenaries. You learn to be afraid of
- 1:07:54certain noises. You're like, ah, fuck, this
- 1:07:56guy's coming for me. Figure it out.
- 1:07:59And that's, and that's good diegetic gameplay, which they,
- 1:08:02you know, CIG is always trying to go for, right?
- 1:08:04You can. You can know what you're being
- 1:08:06attacked by just by the noise. Well, I mean like half the time
- 1:08:10I don't. I don't actually hear the
- 1:08:11weapons half the time because the noise doesn't actually play
- 1:08:14while I'm in my I don't even know I'm getting hit except for
- 1:08:16the little like flashing light that says you get hit, you got
- 1:08:19hit. I'm like fuck man.
- 1:08:21Duke, what did you say? Wet fart.
- 1:08:25Die. Die.
- 1:08:26What? Diegetic.
- 1:08:30What's that mean? I'm too.
- 1:08:32We don't say that on the show. I.
- 1:08:33Think I'm too dumb to be here? You.
- 1:08:35Are you're welcome to be here? We still love you, We still love
- 1:08:40you. It it so like in terms of like
- 1:08:43diegetic gameplay, meaning you're getting valuable
- 1:08:46information not fed to you through a gamey way, but it it's
- 1:08:55just part of the environment that you're in and it's giving
- 1:08:58you cues as to things that are going on.
- 1:09:01Visceral. That's a different thing, but
- 1:09:07but I just. Wanted to say it because I knew
- 1:09:10that. Word.
- 1:09:11You just, yeah, let me think of like, like if you're doing a
- 1:09:18contested zone and you hear, you know, the noise of one of the
- 1:09:21doors opening, right? That would be a good diegetic
- 1:09:25sound. What?
- 1:09:26About like a a a grenade rolling across the ground.
- 1:09:30Yeah, yeah, that too. Q.
- 1:09:32That's the thing that you've got to pay.
- 1:09:33Can we have some nonviolent diegetic sounds for Pacifist
- 1:09:36Bill? Maybe.
- 1:09:39Maybe the sound. Maybe the sound of a of a Tonka
- 1:09:43A. Rat crispy frying on a stick and
- 1:09:46pyro. I'll, I'll give you one.
- 1:09:48It's, I mean, it's, it's kind of threatening, I guess.
- 1:09:51But when you hear a tractor beam in one of those contested zones,
- 1:09:55that's kind of a bummer. Like, oh, I got to get out of
- 1:09:57here. I don't know what that guy's
- 1:09:58doing. Don't touch me.
- 1:10:00I mean, I also maintain that the different mining lasers should
- 1:10:02have different sounds as well. Yeah.
- 1:10:04Agreed. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, totally.
- 1:10:08Here's. Where?
- 1:10:10I'm going to. Have to disagree.
- 1:10:17Most of this game takes place in in a vacuum of space.
- 1:10:21The closest thing you'd hear of anything is if if you felt
- 1:10:24vibrations that cause the air in your helmet to vibrate, you hear
- 1:10:29everything. If you hear heard anything at
- 1:10:31all it'd be super muffled. Yeah, what's the idea already?
- 1:10:34Sound what I want bro. CID already covered this.
- 1:10:38They said it's your your shipboard and your armor
- 1:10:41computer that is. Extrapolating.
- 1:10:44Extrapolating all that and giving it to you so that you
- 1:10:47have a diegetic cue to interact. With your world that sounds very
- 1:10:51advanced. Why don't we have tinting
- 1:10:54windows for the windshield? Excuse me but like if if you
- 1:11:01couldn't hear in space then explain how the crew of the
- 1:11:05Ghost in Star Wars Rebels had to hide from the Imperial ship by
- 1:11:11being very quiet. Bro Dave baloney sucks I can't
- 1:11:18stand I've never liked this stupid blocking animation.
- 1:11:22His stories aren't that great enough.
- 1:11:25Isn't he in charge now? Of yeah, I know.
- 1:11:28And Star Wars is going to fail for it.
- 1:11:32Tony's going Roy forever. It's going to suck worse than it
- 1:11:35has. Who was the the lady cat cat.
- 1:11:38Kathleen, Kathy. Yeah, oh God, she's the worst.
- 1:11:42No, no, wait. Just hold up.
- 1:11:43Hold up here, No. Hold.
- 1:11:45No. She's already pulling the
- 1:11:47strings back again. She's rearing.
- 1:11:49No pulling on the rings again. She's out.
- 1:11:52She's not out. Hold up because I need to I.
- 1:11:55Need a Ghost Rider official? Statement Thank you Kathleen
- 1:11:58Kennedy for green lighting and making sure and or happened and
- 1:12:02Oh yeah, and you allowed it to happen in the way it should
- 1:12:06have. That's true.
- 1:12:07Thank you. We were being allowed had no
- 1:12:10actual impact. She greenlit it personally.
- 1:12:14Which one was that I missed? That Andor.
- 1:12:17Andor. You got to watch that.
- 1:12:19Amazing. It's just Star Wars in the last
- 1:12:2210 years. Maybe ever.
- 1:12:24Isn't there another one or there a second one?
- 1:12:26Or is is 2? Seasons.
- 1:12:28Two seasons of Andor. That's what it was.
- 1:12:32Have you have you watched Rogue One?
- 1:12:35The Movie. Yeah.
- 1:12:37Yeah. I did watch that, that's what I
- 1:12:39was. Thinking this is what happens
- 1:12:40before Rogue One and or. I'm just gonna see core
- 1:12:46prequels. Can I just get a story off what
- 1:12:48I've already seen? It is.
- 1:12:50You need to watch it better. You need to watch what you.
- 1:12:53Want better? OK.
- 1:12:54Exactly what you want. You don't.
- 1:12:56You know it, but you. Don't you do OK, it is.
- 1:13:01I maintain that a significant portion of the success of Andor
- 1:13:04and Rogue One is that like, OK, so all of us who grew up with
- 1:13:06Star Wars, you know, it's a it's a peasant hero story.
- 1:13:09You know, you go, a guy comes in and does fights the evil
- 1:13:12whatever. We all grew up with it.
- 1:13:13Most of the people who are most invested in Star Wars at this
- 1:13:16point are a little bit older and and.
- 1:13:18I beg your pardon? Rogue One were really, really
- 1:13:22stories for for people who are a little bit older.
- 1:13:25They did away with the entire thing of like, let's make a
- 1:13:28movie for kids. They made a movie for adults
- 1:13:32that that the complexities of the world that George Lucas made
- 1:13:36and kind of broke them apart in some ways and said, yeah, it's
- 1:13:39it's kind of screwed up in all these different ways.
- 1:13:41How do we express that? And like, that's why I thought
- 1:13:44those that movie and that series actually did so well because as
- 1:13:47opposed to trying to say, Hey, we're going to make, you know,
- 1:13:50what kind of a dumb kids movie again, they said, well, why
- 1:13:53don't we take it? And like, I don't know, look at
- 1:13:56it from the perspective of someone who grew up with all of
- 1:13:59it, who can do away with all of the like shine at this point.
- 1:14:02So I don't know. I thought that was good.
- 1:14:04So you you definitely agree, you know, it's, it's a more adult
- 1:14:07thing. It does appeal to us old timers,
- 1:14:11but it also don't want it to leak into the idea that we don't
- 1:14:15like the new movies because we're too old, because there
- 1:14:19there are plenty of kids movies. And I have I have three of the
- 1:14:23little the little buggers running around.
- 1:14:24So I know that are still they're made for kids, but they're also
- 1:14:29just good writing and they're good.
- 1:14:31Versus. You're talking.
- 1:14:33About Star Wars. Yeah, but well, I mean movies in
- 1:14:37general, but then also Star Wars.
- 1:14:39What's Star Wars kids movie is good riding?
- 1:14:43What's the the movie on the TV show Jude Law?
- 1:14:48Jude Law? What was that TV show?
- 1:14:50Oh. Yes, that was.
- 1:14:52That I heard that was. That.
- 1:14:54I, I, I thought I would hate that, but I liked it.
- 1:14:57I watched it and I was like, yeah, I'm going to actually
- 1:14:59watch that with my kids soon. Yeah, it was.
- 1:15:02Fun not not to come at it with any, you know, like rose tinted
- 1:15:04glasses. I have watched the Star Wars
- 1:15:06Christmas special. There are old Star Wars
- 1:15:08basically for that as well. Oh yeah.
- 1:15:10Oh yeah. Oh yeah, for.
- 1:15:11Sure for. Sure, make sure my infant son
- 1:15:14watched it before he performed memories so I could tell him no,
- 1:15:17you watched it. You don't need to go back and
- 1:15:18watch it, it's OK. Well, you know what they say,
- 1:15:21You can't have the bitter without the sweet and then the
- 1:15:23sweet without the the bitter. But lately, there's been a lot
- 1:15:27of bitter. Well, skeleton crew.
- 1:15:30Well said. Skeleton crew was great though.
- 1:15:33I mean, it really was. Yeah, it was good everybody did
- 1:15:37they? Spend.
- 1:15:38That's what I was thinking of. Yeah, the Jude Law one.
- 1:15:43Yeah, I like that one. That's really.
- 1:15:44Good, I maybe should see it because everyone says it but
- 1:15:47they spent more more money on the Star Wars Holiday special
- 1:15:50than they spent on the fight between Obi Wan and Darth Vader
- 1:15:54on that movie set planet. Oh my God, that's you guys are
- 1:15:58crazy. Do you remember?
- 1:16:01You know what I'm talking about. The first.
- 1:16:03Fight not the second. Fight the first fight.
- 1:16:07Yeah, the One Canoe Show. With Darth Vader.
- 1:16:10Yeah, he was, old man. It felt like they were
- 1:16:14practicing. It felt like we were watching.
- 1:16:16It was horrible anyway, just. A reminder, I think they were
- 1:16:20limited by they. Didn't like that movie.
- 1:16:24I think they were limited by that technology in that movie to
- 1:16:26get the lightsabers to glow properly or something.
- 1:16:28There was something like that where they couldn't be whaling
- 1:16:31around. That was like the 10th Star Wars
- 1:16:34thing. They made Oh, you're talking
- 1:16:35about the. Didn't get the lightsabers.
- 1:16:36Down. I thought you were talking
- 1:16:37about, I think you were talking about episode 4.
- 1:16:39No, no, no, no. The Obi Wan Kenobi show.
- 1:16:41Oh yeah, that was crap. Or as I know it, Larry.
- 1:16:47Larry. What?
- 1:16:49Yeah, you got to watch the aural nuts.
- 1:16:51I think we, I think we've gone off the rails here, Char char.
- 1:16:54Oh no, it's amazing. It's amazing.
- 1:16:55They they basically they're, they're sound engineers and
- 1:16:59they, they take the shows and they, they actually did the
- 1:17:02whole like the whole, you know, trilogy's.
- 1:17:04They they did all of them and they completely revamp the story
- 1:17:08and made it fucking crazy. It's it's, it's amazing.
- 1:17:11And they did the entire Kenobi shows called Larry because his
- 1:17:15name is Larry Kenobi and he's kind of like a piece of crap,
- 1:17:19honestly. And and it's hilarious.
- 1:17:23All right, we'll check out Larry.
- 1:17:25Larry Kenobi. Larry Kenobi Also drink a cruise
- 1:17:30Lux. Yeah, you got the shivers.
- 1:17:33You got a little cold. You vomiting?
- 1:17:35Drink some, Cruz. Lux, why do you keep bringing up
- 1:17:38vomit with the same sense of Cruz?
- 1:17:40Lux that thing this is. Terrible.
- 1:17:42The Cruz family's rolling over in its proverbial grave.
- 1:17:46Yeah, it's not Alka Seltzer. Are you are?
- 1:17:48Are your shoes falling off? Drink some Cruz Lux.
- 1:17:53Have you gotten too many G's in your space?
- 1:17:56Are you covering too many G's? You know, we do have.
- 1:18:00Cruise time. We do have the.
- 1:18:02Commercial. I think you're bringing us very
- 1:18:04close to that, that line of of being a being a skit show as we
- 1:18:11were somebody already already said that we actually were.
- 1:18:14Gotta read the ads. You gotta read the ads, and Lord
- 1:18:17Nubis, I think, has an ad for us.
- 1:18:18Lord Nubis. Yes, it's a new sponsor.
- 1:18:22Looks like it's Wammers. I know we've all eaten at
- 1:18:25Wammers before so well, you know you don't have a choice.
- 1:18:32Eat at Wammers, turn down power to guns, and turn up power to
- 1:18:38fun. This week at Whammers we got
- 1:18:41Wham jams by the flim flams all day long.
- 1:18:43Just think of it. 12 whammers for only 599 auec.
- 1:18:47Make a Crusader side this weekend at our Orson location
- 1:18:50and you'll get a free whammy. The Ham Pico slam ball well
- 1:18:54supplies laughs at Whammers. We got a whammy for you OP.
- 1:18:59Are not available in PUPTU or internal test servers used as
- 1:19:03directed. Now wait a minute before anybody
- 1:19:06says anything. Did you just say while supplies
- 1:19:09lapse? Yes.
- 1:19:12Yeah, we can do another take if you want to take, but I think it
- 1:19:14was. Perfect, I think it was.
- 1:19:17Good man. Side note, so I'm, I was just
- 1:19:21saw a post someone who was showing a what is AP8 submachine
- 1:19:27gun, I think crafted with 800 level quality material and the
- 1:19:34the buffs are crazy. You're talking -40% on recoil
- 1:19:40kick plus 4041% recoil smoothness plus 41% recoil
- 1:19:47handling. Yeah, lots, lots of crazy buffs.
- 1:19:52It's going to be cool. It's going to be, it's going to
- 1:19:54be an exciting patch. It sounds like ACZ specialist
- 1:19:58right there. Yeah, to to kind of rope this up
- 1:20:01with these buffs and, and what what is this called?
- 1:20:05Is this technically crafting or is this something else?
- 1:20:09Yeah, it's well. Compared to Star Wars Galaxies.
- 1:20:13Oh shit. Oh, no, no, no.
- 1:20:15You left the door wide open for that charger.
- 1:20:17So we're crafting components and attachments and adding them to
- 1:20:21our guns basically. Not yet.
- 1:20:24So we're not crafting attachments, we're just
- 1:20:25crafting. No, we're just crafting weapons
- 1:20:27right now. I don't even think there's any
- 1:20:29blueprints for armor yet, just weapons.
- 1:20:32Yeah, there is, There is. OK.
- 1:20:34Yeah, there's like 41 pages of blueprints that you can get when
- 1:20:38you're in the fabricator. You can select blueprints you
- 1:20:41don't have access. Oh, no.
- 1:20:43And there's like 41 pages that you can get.
- 1:20:47And you can click on them and they show specs and stuff.
- 1:20:50No, no, no. So yeah, I guess they could just
- 1:20:52be placeholders. But I did see somebody earlier
- 1:20:56craft a helmet. It was just some dumb, stupid,
- 1:20:59dumb helmet. But I mean, it gave better
- 1:21:02temperature, temperature resistances and stuff.
- 1:21:05So I'm wondering if you could create like radiation ones.
- 1:21:10So when you go to that place, I don't know what it's called.
- 1:21:15You know what it is with the big valid car that is ASD facility
- 1:21:21ASD, that's it. Maybe you could create a bunch
- 1:21:25of radiation gear and not have to wear that big weird suit.
- 1:21:29I mean, I don't think you have to wear it, but.
- 1:21:32Well, I, I could see you have like a salvage thing where you
- 1:21:35know, someone brings you a radiation suit and you're taking
- 1:21:38up the lining in order to craft with, you know, maybe they need
- 1:21:41like 5 suits. They need to bring you that.
- 1:21:44'D be cool. Yeah.
- 1:21:48All right, well, we're about to wrap the show up here.
- 1:21:51We're we're right here at the end.
- 1:21:55Before I go around and and kind of do our our go around.
- 1:21:58Anyone have any last words? Anything we missed this week?
- 1:22:05No. All right, well, let me tell you

- 1:22:59meet ratio in your sandwich. What is the ideal cheese to meet
- 1:23:04ratio? Well, are we talking about Star

- 1:23:08Yes, there you go. Hey, yes, hey.
- 1:23:10Star Wars Galaxies, everybody. Have you heard of it 'cause we

- 1:23:21of the show, but we like to end the show the same way.
- 1:23:24Every episode I go around backwards and I ask the guests
- 1:23:29if they have anything they like to say to CIG, Chris Roberts or
- 1:23:33the people of the Internet. So Bill, you're first.
- 1:23:37Bill, is there anything you'd like to say to CIG, Chris
- 1:23:40Roberts or the people on the Internet?
- 1:23:42It stayed true. All right, right, righteous.
- 1:23:51Yeah, no. Wicked, wicked.
- 1:23:53You were next. Oh my gosh, wicked.
- 1:23:56Is there anything you'd like to say to CIG, Chris Roberts, or
- 1:23:58the people on the Internet? Well, it's just a question.
- 1:24:02A question for Sandy Roberts. Yeah.
- 1:24:07And you know the? State of New Mexico has told you
- 1:24:10to stop. Yeah, but there's a lot of other
- 1:24:13states. I'm just asking questions.
- 1:24:16I'm not this is this is our conduit to to His Highness.
- 1:24:20Certainly I'm with you, I don't believe.
- 1:24:22In What's the question? What's the question?

- 1:25:19that, you know, with, with everything going on, I know the
- 1:25:22world seems really scary, but but you know, we, we do have
- 1:25:27hope. We have things like Star Wars
- 1:25:30galaxies in our lives and you know, we have a game that's
- 1:25:36heading towards. But I will say in all
- 1:25:39seriousness with that, finding your space of joy in a time like
- 1:25:44these is very important. And I'm glad that we can all
- 1:25:46enjoy it and come together and be able to have moments like
- 1:25:48these when these times are. It's scary.
