- 0:03SPEAKER_02: Well, hey everybody.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to yet another exciting episode of the Steve and Jeff Experience Podcast.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: I'm Steve.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: I'm Jeff.
- 0:11SPEAKER_03: How's it going, Steve?
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Jeff, you know, we are we are such a success in the podcast world, in the audio world, in the new radio of the new millennium.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: We're like hitting the top, Jeff.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: We have an amazing guest today.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: An amazing guest.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: You remember, remember in I think it was the last show, I said that a professor, an eminent professor at Sarah Silverman College.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: No slouch of a school.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's that's way up there.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: You know, they could they caught they charge a lot to go to that school, you know?
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: But I digress.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: But but he he wrote about us and he said he remember he said that we were a comedy extrano.
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: And and I said it was anal probing.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: The estrano means anal probing.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: Is he calling?
- 0:53SPEAKER_03: Has he been able to confirm that?
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: He's well, he you know what?
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: You'll be able to ask him yourself.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: He's gonna be on our show today.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: No way.
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: He is an intellectual, somebody who's like smart.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: This is going to raise the cumulative IQ of our show by a lot.
- 1:10SPEAKER_03: Now, now, how did you uh how'd you pull that off?
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: A lot of times people probably wonder, we have the best guests in the world.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: How do we get them on the show?
- 1:18SPEAKER_03: So how did you get this guy on?
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: When he I wrote that he wrote that article and I wrote to him saying that I would like to have him on the show to discuss his his comedy extrano.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: And uh he he was a little a little shy at first.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: He he did respond, but he was a little shy at first.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: You know, I I I think in part because I and I I don't want to mispronounce his name, but you know, I I kind of stumbled with it last time a little bit, you remember?
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: Let me do I'll uh let me spell it out for you, okay?
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: His his name is S-H-R-E-M-P-D-I-C-H.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Now I'm I'm struggling for a way that I don't pronounce that as shrimp dick.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Dr.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Shrimp dick.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: Could be shrimp ditch.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Shrimp dish.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's really just shrimp shrimp dish.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: It may be like a shrimp dish.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, shrimp dish German for shrimp dish.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Could be sh German.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Well, it could be German for shrimp dick, too.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, I you know.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, yeah.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Because they, you know, they're always talking about stuff like that in Germany.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: But well, this is very exciting.
- 2:23SPEAKER_03: I think maybe he'll confirm what his name is.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: He hopefully will.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: He can tell us how to pronounce that, and I we can apologize up and down for calling him shrimp dick.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: But yeah, but you know, unfortunately, Jeff, uh, we uh we'd love we could jump right into it, but you know, he's he's actually not in the studio yet.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: He's not here.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, he has not yet arrived.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: Well, no, no, he was going to be here in person, but he has not shown as of yet.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Now, I did, I I did get an email from him, which I thought was interesting.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, and and his his email said, Well, just I'll just read it to you.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: He says, Hello, Stephen Jeff.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: As you know, I am the professor who wrote that you are a prime example of comedy extrano.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: See, there it goes, comedy extrano again.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I suggest you look up that word.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: I don't think that word means what you think it means.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: So he's just maybe and maybe shrimp dick doesn't mean what we think it means.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: It probably doesn't.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: It probably doesn't.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: It probably uh it's probably like Lithuanian for uh laborer or something.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's probably there are probably millions of Lithuanians named Shrimp Dick.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: Who knows?
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Who knows?
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: But you know, you know, Jeff, until until he shows, well, when he shows, we we have a lot of questions for the old doctor, but until he shows, you know, we did that call-in show a few shows ago, and I did that was so much fun.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: We had a lot of great callers, and uh, we get a lot of emails with this show, and I'm just I'm thinking, you know, while we're waiting for Dr.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: You know, well, shrimp dick, for want of a better name, to to arrive, you know, maybe let's let's read some of the emails that we have gotten, some of the the the store, the the fun the phenomenal number of emails that we have gotten to this incredible podcast.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: What do you think?
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm glad yeah, I'm glad you suggested that.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: I'm a big sports um radio fan, and whenever they have call call-ins, a lot of the the people who call in get nervous, you know, they get sort of stage fright and whatever.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: But whenever they read their texts or their emails, they're so much more thorough and more complete.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: And the thoughts, you know, because they've had a little bit of time to think about it, they're not nervous.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Yes, and so I'm I I would love to hear what our audience thinks, and I'm sure it it will be just sensational.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: So you know, you know, I let me uh I I got one right here that I can kick it off with.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: I got just got this a little bit ago today, in fact.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: I got this on a on today.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: Uh this is uh from uh Philip in Omaha, Nebraska.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Philip.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: Your neighborhood.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: It's yeah, gosh, I I may I may actually know this guy.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Says, hey Steve, this is and I haven't read this yet.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: So I'm just I'm reading this for the first time right here live, right on this show, on the radio is all about.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: This is what dramatic radio, this is this is the newsletter.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: This is the the it the investigative reporting.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: This is the the incisiveness that this show has.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: It's brand new email.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: Hey Steve, this is Phil from Omaha, at least for now.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's that's interesting.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: Big fan of your show, but a bigger fan of you personally.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: I'm getting a little I'm I'm getting weird vibes there.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: Okay, getting a little weird vibe there.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: Uh turns out we have a lot in common.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: I bet.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Uh we both came from the future.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, but of course you know that.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: Well, yes, I did, but yeah, but but I digress.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, I'm only here for the weekend, then off to the Civil War period.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, you want to be careful back there.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: Oh boy.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Traveler.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Lots of diseases.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: But but uh off the Civil War period, but thought you and I could get together.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: Also, since we both know that you will have an opening to add someone to the show in the future.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Ooh, wait.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: I think I could be a good thing.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: Are we going to a three-person booth?
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: Is that yeah what you were is that yeah, I think that's what he meant to be.
- 6:11SPEAKER_03: I'm sure.
- 6:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm sure.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: And that makes sense.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: You know, sometimes uh it's good to get a third person in there, you know.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: Three heads are better than two, you know.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Since we both know that you will have an opening to add someone to the show in the future, I think I could be of some help in the not so distant future if you catch my drift.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: I don't.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: I don't but you know, I I I'm from the future and I I don't know that I follow his drift, but but but he goes on.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: Or if nothing else, maybe we can start our own podcast where we can take calls and tell people what's in store for them in the future.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: Regardless, let's talk.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: I'm sure you know how to reach me.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: Well, Phil, I do.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: And um uh, you know, Phil, I I I I know you're listening to the show because you're a you're a devoted fan, but uh you know, I don't know.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: I think we should keep Ayat Kwe about the opening a seems like I uh uh refresh my memory.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: Did this come up in an earlier podcast when we were talking about the future?
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: And uh I think it did, yes.
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but but you know, Steve, you have said many times, you know, the future is something that can change and evolve and depending on things that happen.
- 7:26SPEAKER_03: So I'm not sure anybody really knows.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: And it sounds like Phil or Philip, he's just trying to make sure that you your legacy goes on.
- 7:36SPEAKER_03: That if something were to change, you know, he's there for you.
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: Um, I like it.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Uh I now do you are there a group of people, Steve, that are from the future that you regularly stay in contact with, or is Phil the first one?
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: You know, I I gotta say, I've met not in today's uh time frame.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: There are some people in the future that I hang with in the future, but not today.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: So that's interesting that Phil came here.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: That's pretty unusual.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: And he's going to the Civil War.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: I wonder for which side.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Ooh, that's the question.
- 8:13SPEAKER_03: And no offense, Steve.
- 8:14SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I know you, I know you came from the future.
- 8:17SPEAKER_03: I get a little nervous when people start saying that they came from the future or the past.
- 8:23SPEAKER_03: You know, I'm not saying it's it's not possible, but it's making me a little nervous, and he's he's a little freaky.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: Well, it's an easy thing to claim, hard to prove.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: I know, because I've proven it many a time, many a time.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: You know, well, maybe I'll get together with Philip.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: You know, I've kind of got an opening tomorrow.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Maybe I'll get together with him and well, I'll just see.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: I'll I'll I'll give him a little test.
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, maybe you can maybe that would be a good idea, and maybe you can even bring him bring him on the show.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: Well, I don't know.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: You probably already know whether you brought him on the show or not.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: So yeah, you know, I I did, but uh it wasn't a good show.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: So yeah, just yeah, no.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: And I don't think, Phil, I don't think we're gonna have a podcast because uh predicting the future, uh, you know, that's a parlor game, Phil.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: I take this very seriously.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, yeah, you know, it's uh the grass is always greener.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: It is, I'll tell you.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: One man's ceiling's another man's floor.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: Yep, you know, just be just because you like boys doesn't mean you're gay.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: No, no, not at all.
- 9:19SPEAKER_03: Not at all.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: Those are all just cliches, not at all.
- 9:22SPEAKER_03: And you know, just just I think you yeah, don't jump to conclusions, I think.
- 9:27SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: That's really what I'm saying.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: That's very true, very true.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: Well, and Jeff, I I I think you've you've gotten some emails here too.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: It looks like well, I got a bunch of them here.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Um let me just go in some order of when I got the first one.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: So I have one from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, they want their they want their uniform back, don't they?
- 9:47SPEAKER_03: Yes, yeah, they probably this this may not be for me.
- 9:51SPEAKER_03: I don't know because I I don't really have a connection with those guys.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: Well, oh, it says hi Jeff, so maybe it is me.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Uh love your show.
- 9:57SPEAKER_03: Uh, everyone in Statesville is a big fan.
- 10:00SPEAKER_03: I know who defaced your father's headstone for a small donation to my defense fund.
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: I'll be glad to give you their names.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: So that's interesting, Steve, because first of all, dad's not dead.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: And uh, and if he was if he did have a tombstone, he'd be the guy that would probably deface it.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: He would have defaced his own tombstone on the way down.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he would have taken an ice pick and just done it himself, you know?
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: And again, it's it's it's the same question of one man's ceiling's another man's floor.
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: You may call it defacing, I may call it decorating.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: I may call it improving, doing a little home improvement.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 10:41SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: So um, I I appreciate the thought.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: A little fearful.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: I think Statesville is in Joliet, yeah, um, Illinois, which is really not far from where I live.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: So um we always go there every actually, you know.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: I may have seen this guy.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: We go every year for Halloween.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: They have these Halloween.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: Oh, they do it at night shit out of you.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: You know, it's good.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: Guns and knives look so real.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, they are, and uh oh, they are of course that's why they look that real.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: But but it's oh, it's it's a great event.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: Terrific.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: So um I appreciate the uh the thought.
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: Keep an eye out there for me in the future.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: And well, and and you know, you know, since your dad really isn't dead and that really wasn't his headstone, this is just proof.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: This is a a guy trying to finagle his way out of jail or finagle some money, you know.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: When you become a big celebrity like us, that this is gonna happen.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: You're gonna have people like this, right?
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, here we go.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, let me uh let me uh uh read one here.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: This is from uh Marjorie in Beloit, Wisconsin.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: Wow, not too far from not too far from the Chicago Metro there either.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Uh says, Hi Steve, this is Marjorie Sample.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: I oh, you remember me as Marge Simon.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, or that nasty nickname you gave me in grade school, Marge the Barge.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: Well, I think I atoned for that, Marge.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: I really think girl.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: She lost a lot of weight though.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: She really did.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: She looks she looked a lot better by high school graduation, but she hated me by that.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, would never talk to me.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: But but I digress.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Uh anyway, I was very disappointed to hear your interview with your so-called grade school girlfriend, Megan Parker.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: I don't think she was so-called.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: I think she was, I think we covered that.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: We were lunchline lovers, if you will.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Anyway, uh, just says, girlfriend?
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: Come on, Steve.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: We both know she never loved you like I did.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: Well, I thought she hated me.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Marge, you I mean, I thought Marge hated me.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: I thought we had something special in eighth grade history class.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: Well, see, in history class, I was really good because I was I already knew what was gonna happen.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: That totally worked out, and they'd say this is what Lincoln looked like.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: And no, he didn't.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: No, I met the guy, he didn't look a thing like that.
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: But like always, you just ignored me.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: And now you are dating Megan.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: Well, Steve, I didn't know you were actually dating her.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, in Megan's words, that might be a stretch.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I dating, you know.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: Why do you still treat me like you just don't care?
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: Well, wow, gee, Marge scorned to love her, you know.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: I can feel the hurt, and maybe I may be acting like I don't care, but I Marge, you know, deep down, I I I'm not sure I do care.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: So I think I think there's a reason, Marge, and and I think we're seeing kind of why we why we never made it.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: This kind of attitude.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: Uh something special.
- 13:38SPEAKER_03: But it's good to be loved.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: I mean, you must feel it must feel good to know that people remember you, people the love that people have for you has lasted for 50 years or many longer.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm over 50 since eighth grade.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: My goodness.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: Yes, I remember that.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: Uh I think we, I think we I think I kissed her one time under like the the jungle gym on the playground, you know.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: I think yeah, I think I kissed her.
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm surprised she fit under the jungle gym.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: And she barely was a big girl.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, and she whacked the hell out of me.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: And when I kissed her, gosh, I still like I had a scar until I was, yeah, but 35 or so, it eventually went away.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: But you know, it was it was bad.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: And I'm sure she's lovely now, but you know, a little science fact when kids are fat, oftentimes they create these cells, fat cells that stay with them the rest of their life, especially when they're going through uh their teenage years.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: So I got a bad feeling that Marge is now large, Marge, the barge.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: She might be.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: And and you know, and those cells, those cells, that's that's really true.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: And those cells can be really bad if they get like extreme political views, they become what were called communist cells, and then those can be those turn into bigger things.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, and and speaking of cells, yeah, I have another email from uh statesville.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, we are so popular with the captive audience, if you will.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: We are, we are.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: This is from uh Vito Sangrini, and he's in Joliet at Statesville.
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: Sangrini?
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Uh I think I live near him.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: I think I live near him back in the day.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: I think you remembered a drink.
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: Um, and so I think he's gonna be a drink.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he always loved wine.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, this guy drank constantly.
- 15:31SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I think I remember him.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, he was a bad dude.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's in Joliet.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: So he says, uh, hi Steven Jeff.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: This is Vito.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm a big fan, and we and all the guys here in in Joliet Prison are as well.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: We especially enjoyed the episode about building a housing subdivision where a cemetery is currently.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: It's a great idea, and I actually know some of the people buried there.
- 15:58SPEAKER_03: It's a lovely place to be buried and raise a family, or both, or both, yeah.
- 16:04SPEAKER_03: Um, he continues, uh, I'm writing you because I have some good news.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: Uh, this is exciting.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: I'm getting released next week.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: Turns out a couple of the witnesses are no longer willing to stand by their original testimony against me.
- 16:18SPEAKER_03: That's good luck.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: You know, usually that doesn't happen.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, that is a stroke of brilliance on Vito's part, stroke of incredible luck.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: And and you know what?
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: It's important for people to tell the truth.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: And maybe it takes them a while to come around to the truth.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: Vito sounds like a perfectly normal, good person.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: Um, he finishes with I was thinking that since I'm such a big fan of your show, maybe you could use a guy like me with a clean record, because he will have a clean record now, um, to help produce the show.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: Or maybe I can convince people to come onto as guests.
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: I can be very persuasive, as anyone I work with will tell you.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: Let me know when I can start.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: Thanks, and see you soon.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, there's a volunteer for you.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if that's the veto I remember that I used to live near.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he is really persuasive.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: Yes, you know what I mean.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Yes, he really is.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: And you know what I'm thinking, what I'm thinking, Jeff.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: See, this is the beauty of this show.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: We can be a synthesis for creativity.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking maybe we get veto and Phil together, and they do a podcast, and Phil's in the future, talk about the future, and then Vito's talking about how he's gonna whack people in the future.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: That sounds perfect.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: I think again, combining two ideas together to come up with a better idea.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: That's what we're all about.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: And I think and and and we could be guests on the show, maybe.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: Although maybe if you wax the guests, maybe I I don't want to do that.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: But but but I digress.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: But we could be guests on the show, maybe.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: Maybe we could produce it.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, nothing wrong with that.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: More money, that would be a big hit.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: That would be a big hit.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: Yes, completely.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, you you know, our our our guest isn't here yet, but uh so let's let's let's keep on with the emails here.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: I got another one here.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: Uh wow, this is from a CPA.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: Ooh, uh it's uh from a John Blozer, Blouser, Blouser, I guess I would pronounce that.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: CPA uh from Omaha here.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: Hey Steve, love the show.
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: It's the perfect vehicle to get a huge tax write-off for 2022.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: Oh, you're telling me.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: Not sure how much you and Jeff have invested so far.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Hopefully not much.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, yeah, that's fair.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: That's sweat equity.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: But I think I can work with this to get you a great refund next year.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: I mean, it shouldn't be too hard to prove you're losing tons of money.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Well, no, that'd be pretty obvious to anybody.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: I guess hell, your guests alone are a complete waste of time and money.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Well, wait a minute.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: I think that's unfair, John.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: Stick with blown.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Stick with accounting, yeah, Mr.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: Bloser.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Stay in your credit debit side, whatever.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: But tell Jeff to give me a call and I can help him too.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Great job, Steve.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: Really thinking out of the box.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, thanks, John.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: Glad you're a listener.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: But uh, I think you're really undervaluing our guests.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: So I wonder how he would value our deductions, if you know what I mean.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: I do.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: And uh, you know, he sounds like uh somebody who, you know, might question some of the things that I would be submitting, like all of those massage, those uh medically required massages that I get every Saturday night.
- 19:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: I write that off every year, and there are complaints.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: Of course.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: So uh so this guy, uh John Blauzer, I don't know if he's gonna be flexible enough or smart enough to help us through this.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: But if I if it's if it's to save money, I'll give him a call.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, you know, it can't hurt to call him, but uh, you know, John, don't don't hold out your hopes too much because I don't like what you said about our guests.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: I like our guests.
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: Our guests are cool, they are cool people, and they're the real people.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: And speaking of guests, this uh this next email might be a future guest.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: This is actually from Jerry in Plantation, Florida.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: I that's where my dad lives.
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: So let uh so uh I'm just re- This is my dad.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: Oh wow, okay.
- 20:14SPEAKER_03: So this is important because you know, we were talking about the gravestone, and you know, he's come up before, so it's important to get his perspective on this.
- 20:23SPEAKER_03: Um, hi Jeff, love the show.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: I was surprised to hear that you had a podcast, and it's pretty good, uh, considering you're in it.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: Well, I don't know.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that sounds like that sounds like your joke.
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: I remember you said, Yeah, that sounds like that's a joker.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: All right, of course, Steve is the real star.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, your dad was.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: This is your dad.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Uh your dad was no, my dad would say, Yeah, Steve, you're wasting your time.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Your dad would say, Steve's it, yeah, yeah.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: Your dad was always a smart guy.
- 20:49SPEAKER_03: But sounds like it's not too terrible.
- 20:52SPEAKER_03: Um, and that you haven't ruined it yet, like you have with many things.
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: Um, I do suggest that you study up a little bit of time so that you can get your facts right, especially when it comes to family members and who's dead or who's alive.
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Doing things right has never been your strong suit.
- 21:10SPEAKER_03: God, I love that man.
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: You know, so I mean it's that kind of pep talk that keeps me going.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: It sounds like he really took being called dead, he he took that pretty hard.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: He did, yeah, but but he was willing to be supportive, like always.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: You know, I mean, you could just feel like he's he's a good man, you know.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: He's uh tells it like it is, which I always respected.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: And he's always given me when I was down and out, he always gave me that little extra encouragement.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and and you can see that.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can see that in the language of his let his test email here, you know.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: Really glad that he uh chose to um respond, and I hope he'll be um alive long enough to um to be on our show someday.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: I think that'd be great.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: And and listen, Jeff, we've got uh got an interesting one here that came in from uh A gentleman named Joseph Glazer, who is the president of UDA, the Uber Drivers of America, number 247.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: They have a union.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Very good.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: Well, says a union member on our show.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: No, we haven't.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: We could be a future guest, too.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: So, dear Steve, I wanted to thank you for doing so much for all the Uber drivers in America by having David Ortiz on your show last week.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, he that was a great show, wasn't it?
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: It's important that people understand that Uber drivers are people too, or they wouldn't be able to join our union.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: That's that's a that sounds too.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: That sounds a little discriminatory to me.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: You gotta be a person.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, come on.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: And they have and that they have families and lives just like the rest of us.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: David is one of our finest zero-rated drivers, and we just couldn't be prouder of a guy that most would call unemployable.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: But Steve, he goes on.
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: But Steve, as seems to be the norm these days, guys like David are under attack by the cancel police and actually the regular police too.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, turns out David was suspended and arrested for Ubering while doing your live podcast.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: Now I feel bad.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Some have called what he did reckless and criminal, but for real Americans like us, yes, yes, Joseph, real Americans like us, we know this is just another example of a working guy trying to do the right thing.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Keep up the good work fighting Joe Glazer.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Joe, I couldn't be happier to read that email.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry about David, of course, but uh, you know, that is, I think that really sets things sets things in the right tone, you know.
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: I do too.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: Um, and the other thing is I probably need some clarification here.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: I went uh I was listening to the podcast we did last week, and there's I may have misunderstood.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: I think that uh David was talking about the passengers being zero rated, and that he was that he was actually highly rated.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: Well, turns out maybe I misunderstood, but on the other hand, maybe I got it right to begin with.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: Uh, it looks like the union guy says that David is actually rated zero as well.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so I mean it can be both.
- 24:09SPEAKER_03: It could be both to be right.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: It could be a zero driver taking zero passengers.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, that wouldn't make sense.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: And and you know, Jeff, it is so ironic that we got this email from the Uber drivers of America union rep because Jeff, we got a new sponsor, and our new sponsor is none other than the good people at Uber.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: Well, there are some good, there are good and bad on both sides with Uber, right?
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: Aren't there?
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: There are good people on both sides, yeah.
- 24:33SPEAKER_02: And and we some of the good people at Uber, they heard our show last week and said we want to advertise, and they've got a new Uber product that they're launching on this show, they're launching it right now with Discord so so Jeff, let's let's let's go to commercial.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: You know Uber, and Uber Eats, and Uber Shopping.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Now, get ready for the ultimate Uber experience.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Ah, funeral home says they need cash to send the hearst.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: No problem.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: I have the app.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Looks like there are four hearsts in the area.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Pietro can be here in six minutes.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: UberX, uh EX, that is, will disrupt the funeral business just like we've disrupted everything else.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: With Uber EX, you can get a hearst in minutes for a fraction of the cost of funeral home rides.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: And we have several options for the sophisticated mourner.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: The regular EX gives the classic funeral experience.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: For the budget-minded, we have EX Chair, where two or more deceased can ride for one low cost.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Additional cemetery stops do cost extra.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: And for the deceased who wants to go out in style, Uber Limo EX gives a luxury send-off anyone would be proud of.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: So download the app and be ready, because you never know when a cost-saving funeral may be just what you're looking for.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: A hearse from Uber EX.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: Ride sharing for that last ride.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: You know, they are really taking it to the next level with that.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: I am just so impressed.
- 26:09SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 26:10SPEAKER_03: I hope they give us credit because I think this came out of our last week's podcast where we did, yes, where we talked about, you know, I think it was ambulances and hearse.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, ambulances and hearses.
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: And I think that uh I'm very proud of that.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: They were clearly listening and they decided, hey, what a great idea.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: And maybe, hey, maybe, maybe if we ask nice, we'll get a percentage on the Uber EX.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: Ooh, that would be cool.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: That'd be cool.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: Nah, yeah, we don't need to ask him.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: We're gonna blow it somewhere else.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: Don't worry about it.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, you know that.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: Come on, come on.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: Uh, but we're we're a little low on time, but I think we got, you know, we still don't have our guest here, so I'm a little I'm a little perplexed, but uh let's let's let's do another email.
- 26:57SPEAKER_03: Sometimes I say to myself, why do I do this?
- 26:59SPEAKER_03: What do I get from it?
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: Then I get um emails from people like like this one.
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: I think I think this will explain exactly why I do what I do.
- 27:08SPEAKER_03: Okay, so this is from a Charlotte.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: Oh no, I'm sorry, it's in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- 27:13SPEAKER_03: It's from a sherry.
- 27:14SPEAKER_03: Sherry, um although she says she's Charlotte.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: That's interesting because I think she said she was Sher.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: You know, I maybe it's Sherry Charlotte is her name.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: I'm not uh Sherry could be a nickname for Charlotte.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: I I don't know.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: It could be so um she says I'm Charlotte, and I just wanted to tell you, Stephen Jeff, about how much I love everything that you do.
- 27:36SPEAKER_03: Your podcasts are very entertaining, the blogs are fun and provocative, and I just love the commercials and skits that you have on the website and on stepenjeff.com.
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: Stephen Jeff.com, yes, very she sounds so intelligent.
- 27:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she sounds like a very perceptive audience member.
- 27:55SPEAKER_03: And and probably typical of the people who listen to our show, I think.
- 27:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, yes, yes.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: Um, she continues, um, I can't speak for everyone, but I really admire what you do and I look for you for guidance, opinions, and recommendations.
- 28:11SPEAKER_03: I guess you could say that I'm your best groupie.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: We're we're lucky to have you.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: We're she might be our only groupie, but hey, that's cool.
- 28:20SPEAKER_03: She continues, and because I love you so much, I actually bought you a couple gifts that I thought you might enjoy.
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: You didn't have to do that.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: You know, nobody has to, you know, the the joy the gift of listening to us is more than enough.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: But on the other hand, if she wants to give us something, I'm not gonna turn it to the case.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: You know, you know, a set of golf clips.
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: So um, so with that in mind, please send me an email, your email address and phone numbers so I can get this sent out to you.
- 28:51SPEAKER_03: Okay, and once I get it, I'll ship it to you right away.
- 28:54SPEAKER_03: Also, UPS is asking for a credit card to cover shipping, and mine is expired.
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: It happens to me all the time.
- 29:02SPEAKER_03: I know how you feel, especially when you have you know you have those um limits cards.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Well, and they all expire.
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: It's arbitrary.
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: Oh they all expire at some point.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: Totally.
- 29:13SPEAKER_03: It's a natural mistake, yeah.
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: So if it isn't too much trouble, can I give you um, can you give me your credit card number?
- 29:21SPEAKER_03: Um, absolutely.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: I'll give that to you in a second.
- 29:23SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 29:24SPEAKER_03: Uh they're also asking for a social security number.
- 29:27SPEAKER_03: Not sure why, but I promise I won't share this with anyone.
- 29:30SPEAKER_03: I just don't I don't want to get on my soapbox here.
- 29:32SPEAKER_03: But for them asking for this kind of personal information, who knows what people could do with it?
- 29:37SPEAKER_03: You know, in this case, Sherry or Charlotte or whatever your name is, I'm sure that we can trust you because you're one of our listeners.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:45SPEAKER_03: But uh exactly, you know, but if it was like that other podcast guy, that wrestler, you know, I bet they want my social security.
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, they're looking for it.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, you got that.
- 29:56SPEAKER_03: So um, so having said that, um, Steve, um, I can just give her my information and then she can I'll give you whatever gifts she sends along the way.
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: Um, is that okay?
- 30:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that works.
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: That works.
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: Okay, good.
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: Uh my address, 1527 Sunnycrest Lane in Berwyn, Illinois.
- 30:16SPEAKER_03: And that's 62901.
- 30:18unknown: Yeah.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: Uh my phone number is 291 380564.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure if that's the right number of numbers, but it's pretty close.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: It sounds about right.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_03: And my social security number, this is the one I'm a little hesitant, but what the heck?
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's a Jeff.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: You gotta listen to somebody.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: She's a listener.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: What's she gonna do with it?
- 30:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's exactly she's good.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: So uh my social security number is 306 47 2982.
- 30:52unknown: Wow.
- 30:52SPEAKER_03: I hope that helps.
- 30:53SPEAKER_03: Very excited to hear what to see what kinds of stuff you send us.
- 30:57SPEAKER_02: I can't wait to see the gift.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: My gosh.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: And and you be sure and share those gifts when you when you get them there, Jeff.
- 31:03SPEAKER_03: You know, well, I will unless unless they're great.
- 31:05SPEAKER_03: Then maybe I'll just keep it.
- 31:06SPEAKER_02: I'll reimburse you.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: I'll reimburse you for half the shipping, but you know, I I think my card might have expired too.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: So might be it might be a minute on that, but but but I digress.
- 31:17SPEAKER_02: But oh, Jeff, look, we've got another uh this is from uh this is from this email is from uh the place where we do this lovely podcast, this wonderful, the most successful podcast in the world is done right right at this eccentric Lady Land Studios.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: And and that's where we do it.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: This is so this is from eccentric Lady Land to me.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: It says uh Steve and Jeff, while we love your podcast, and we are sure you will be kid the kings of podcasting very soon.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: You know, side note, if not already, yeah.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: I mean, come on, guys, come on, eccentric.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: But anyway, Kings of Podcasting very soon.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: Two serious issues have come to our attention.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: First, cleaning of the toilet in the studio is your responsibility.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: It was a special add-on at your request.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, we're old, right?
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: Can I tell you?
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: And I drink a lot of water, right?
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know what to tell you, you know.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, especially on your request, and we expect you to provide the maintenance.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: Second, we ask that you stop tapping the window of the studio.
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love doing that.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: I say, Hey, you can see the guest right right over here, like like this.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: I I love that.
- 32:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but say this is for your own safety and protection, as any fingerprints on the window are discoverable by law enforcement authorities.
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: Ooh, thank you.
- 32:40SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: Well, she sounds like somebody who first of all cares.
- 32:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh yeah, right, about uh, you know, the property that she owns.
- 32:49SPEAKER_03: And I like her.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: And clearly they know they know our backstory because they're worried about law enforcement authorities.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: So maybe I should comply with that.
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: I hate to though, because I love tapping on the window, but uh, I don't know.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: Well, Steven, if there was any question whether you know her heart is in the right place, I got an email from uh from her exterminator.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 33:15SPEAKER_03: Um, who yeah, who sent me an email.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: And again, if she's just your typical landlord, she's not she doesn't have an exterminator, right?
- 33:24SPEAKER_03: Right, she doesn't care what goes on in uh you know in these studios.
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: But here, listen to this.
- 33:31SPEAKER_03: Wait, no, wait, this is from this is the exterminator from uh yeah, it's it's Scott's exterminator who is, I guess, the exterminator for um our building.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: For building.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: And I, you know, I was here one time when he came.
- 33:43SPEAKER_02: I was getting ready and he was he was here.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: He's uh he's a little baddie.
- 33:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think he's been he's been breathing the spray a little too long, you know what I mean.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: He's a little he's a little out there, but anyway, what it what but I digress.
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: What does he say?
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he said, uh uh Steve and Jeff, just a reminder, uh we're setting up glue traps, poison, and large metal cages around the studio tomorrow.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: Uh nothing to be concerned with, unless, of course, you're one of the rats, possums, or raccoons that are prowling around the building.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: That's what that is.
- 34:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I thought it was somebody else who was renting.
- 34:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, especially.
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: I thought it was the guy upstairs, you know.
- 34:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think guys for a studio.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: This isn't very soundproof, but but that's what it was.
- 34:29SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 34:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:30SPEAKER_03: And he and he finishes up with uh, and just a friendly reminder those fuzzy creatures uh may look cute and friendly, but they carry disease and have very sharp teeth.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: In general, they are not your friend and are much different than the cartoons would have you believe.
- 34:47SPEAKER_03: We suggest getting a dog or a cat if you want something cuddly and friendly, but not until we get control of the studio.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: See, yeah, we've got a whole team of people working, they all care, and they all care, and they all want us to be the number one podcast, which of course we will, but we've got people on our side, we've got so many supporters, so many people helping us out.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: And I did here's look here, here's another one, Jeff.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: They just keep coming, they just keep coming.
- 35:19SPEAKER_02: This is from Jill in Los Angeles, California.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Well, that's a long way away.
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: That is, see, we're our podcast reaching.
- 35:26SPEAKER_02: It's not just an Omaha and Chicago thing.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
- 35:30SPEAKER_02: Jill from Los Angeles, California says, Hi, Steve, love the website and the podcast, step and Jeff.com.
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, keep up the good work.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: My question has to do with a sponsor of yours from a while ago, Dr.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: Rhino Stein.
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, you're according to our advertising works.
- 35:45SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: It does see you.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: And oh, good old Dr.
- 35:49SPEAKER_02: Rhinostein.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I remember him.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: Based on, and of course, you remember him even better.
- 35:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I can smell him still.
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: Based on Jeff's successful nose job, I thought he could perform a breast reduction procedure, something I've wanted to get done since I was a teenager.
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: I met with him at the Red Roof Inn for a consult, and I think it went okay.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: He had five of his colleagues, I assume doctors.
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, they may have been.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: They may have been.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, who met with me individually for their own private examinations, and none of them had any issue, to the best of my knowledge.
- 36:26SPEAKER_02: Well, okay.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: Uh but my problem is that after the meeting, I gave him a deposit for the procedure and haven't heard from him since.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: The surgery was supposed to be November 2nd, primarily because that was when the Red Roof had rooms available.
- 36:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, it's a it's a popular place.
- 36:43SPEAKER_03: You gotta work around their schedule.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you do, yeah.
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: I did.
- 36:46SPEAKER_02: So I want to make sure I book my flight soon.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: Can you help me get a hold of him?
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 36:52SPEAKER_02: Well, hey, Jeff, maybe uh you know the email was to me, but maybe you've got a better in with uh with Dr.
- 36:58SPEAKER_02: Reinerstein.
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: Maybe you maybe you could help Jill out.
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: Well, I haven't really um heard from the doctor for a while um since my surgery.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: Um every once in a while he sends me a note or two.
- 37:10SPEAKER_03: Um, I think they're invoices, but I'm not sure.
- 37:13SPEAKER_03: But um yeah, you know, in general, what I really would like to focus on though is the team of experts that he brings in to help you.
- 37:22SPEAKER_03: Um, these are the best people available and a lot of them.
- 37:25SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: And uh, you know, you've got to like that.
- 37:28SPEAKER_03: I remember telling you, Steve, when I came to, you know, weeks later from my surgery, I had leftover wrappers and things on my on my legs, and you know, I had some sticky stuff here or there.
- 37:40SPEAKER_03: And later I found out that there was again his team that was working on me were there around the clock, and uh that meant eating, eating dinner and showering at the red roof, and uh you just don't find that kind of service from any old plastic surgeon.
- 38:01SPEAKER_02: No, and that is all for your safety and protection, kind of like kind of like tapping the the window in the studio.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: It's it's just for your safety and protection.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: That's you got a hand of the old doc.
- 38:11SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: Should I pull another email?
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, grab an email there.
- 38:15SPEAKER_03: Oh this one actually is from Dr.
- 38:17SPEAKER_03: Uh Reinerstein.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: Well, look at that, look at that.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: You know, again, follow-up, follow-up, follow-up is impeccable.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: This guy is this guy is great.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: And I don't know, Joe, what happened to you?
- 38:29SPEAKER_03: And again, I think it's it may be because you're an LA or who knows.
- 38:33SPEAKER_03: Uh, but Dr.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: Reinerstein uh reached out to me.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: Here's what he says.
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: Um, it's been several weeks since I did your nose job.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's true.
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: And I haven't received any payments for the surgery.
- 38:46SPEAKER_03: Um, as you know, I incurred I incurred no small expense getting Jennifer Aniston's former nose, and I need to settle with the hospital personnel who shipped it to me.
- 39:02SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, I understand.
- 39:03SPEAKER_03: That may have been one of the five people that were, or more than one of them, the the hospital personnel that came to the Red Roof and brought the nose, brought the nose personally.
- 39:13SPEAKER_02: See the care that they give, they brought it in hand personally, right?
- 39:16SPEAKER_03: But if you don't pay me within the next 15 days, I'll be forced to exercise.
- 39:21SPEAKER_03: My uh mechanics lean, and you know, you know, the typical language, I you know, I get this all the time.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: Uh so he's gonna know she's gonna repo your nose, right?
- 39:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's gonna, you know, they make these, you know, he doesn't mean it.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: He he doesn't mean it at all, but you gotta say it, right?
- 39:36SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's sort of the standard language of collection notices.
- 39:40SPEAKER_03: It's like, oh, if you don't pay me, yeah, I'm gonna take away your car and or your nose, or you know, I'm gonna block up one of your sinuses, and that kind of stuff, or I'm going to put your breast back on, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 39:53SPEAKER_03: You know, but in general, he doesn't mean it.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: He's he's a lovable guy.
- 39:57SPEAKER_03: So yeah, oh yeah.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: No, I think I think he means well, and I I think I know you're gonna pay him at the right time, and I think he'll be fine with that.
- 40:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and and Steve, uh we're uh we're pretty late into this podcast, and our guest still isn't here.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: Our guest is not here, and I I'm just I'm looking through, see if I've gotten another email from him, and I I haven't, but oh, you know, you know that email I read at the top of the show?
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: There's a little there's a PS on that that I didn't I didn't read.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, here we go.
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: Oh, what does it say?
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: You remember he said that you know extra didn't mean what we think it means.
- 40:36SPEAKER_02: He's got a PS on there.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: PS Our College's general counsel told me I should not appear on your show.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, and you're gonna listen to some lawyer.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, please.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: That's right, that's not right.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: Dr.
- 40:49SPEAKER_02: Shrimp Dick.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, shrimp dick is right.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: Wonder what the wonder what the lawyer's name is.
- 40:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, nice, nice notice, huh?
- 40:59SPEAKER_02: Wow, some big shot professor you are.
- 41:02SPEAKER_03: Well, that that's a drag.
- 41:04SPEAKER_03: But you know what, Steve?
- 41:05SPEAKER_03: When one door closes, another um window is open.
- 41:10SPEAKER_03: And in our case, and I get cold with that window open, you know.
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: Me too, me too.
- 41:15SPEAKER_03: And in our case, I think we've uh had a chance to really get to know some of the people that listen to our podcast.
- 41:21SPEAKER_03: And I have um I have another one here that I'd like to read, another feel good email.
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: And this one, this is uh from a celebrity, you know.
- 41:31SPEAKER_03: And uh, I don't know if you remember a big fan of the Eagles, the band of the Eagles.
- 41:36SPEAKER_03: Sure, sure.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: Well, this is this is from Glenn Fry, who I think was one of the lead members of the Eagles, and and I think he wrote some of their music.
- 41:45SPEAKER_03: Oh, sure.
- 41:46SPEAKER_03: So he sent me this, he sent me this uh email, and it says, Hey Jeff, love the podcast.
- 41:51SPEAKER_03: It's creative, funny, uh, insightful, and just a pleasure to listen to when I'm not performing myself.
- 41:58SPEAKER_02: Well, he sounds very he sounds very pleasant.
- 42:01SPEAKER_03: Yes, very pleasant.
- 42:02SPEAKER_03: Uh, it reminds me of when Don, I think that would be Don Henley.
- 42:07SPEAKER_03: Don Henley, you're right.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think he's referring to Don Henley.
- 42:10SPEAKER_03: When uh Don and I first started writing music together, although it was rough at the beginning, especially when with Don wanting to sing every song, which you know, I know I know how bad is having a partner who yeah, I'm not gonna go into that.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, but uh not you, not you, Steve.
- 42:29SPEAKER_03: You know, the the previous partner that I had.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, there you go.
- 42:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, so um uh but we we always knew that we had gold there, um, and you must feel the same way.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: I also heard that you and Steve have written some great music as well.
- 42:45SPEAKER_03: Uh, I've only heard VD blues uh so far, but if you would like, I'd have the band record a demo of it and see if it's up to your standards.
- 42:55SPEAKER_03: Keep up the good work, and I'll be listening.
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: Now that's isn't that impressive?
- 43:02SPEAKER_02: So the Eagles are gonna record a demo of VD Blues, one of our finest compositions.
- 43:10SPEAKER_03: And Glenn Fry, um, you know, been a big fan of him.
- 43:15SPEAKER_03: Um, haven't really seen a lot of him lately.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: Um, a lot of things.
- 43:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I I hope I hope he's okay, but um I you know good to hear from him.
- 43:26SPEAKER_02: I think I read, I think I read that he had died, but I think that was fake news.
- 43:31SPEAKER_02: Because look, he wrote this email.
- 43:33SPEAKER_02: It's got it's gotta be fake news.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: Same guy who said my dad died.
- 43:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 43:38SPEAKER_03: You know, what is this crap?
- 43:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, where they just can't trust anybody anymore, you know.
- 43:44SPEAKER_02: It's just it's terrible.
- 43:45SPEAKER_03: You really can't, and uh so I'm very proud of that.
- 43:49SPEAKER_03: It means that we've been recognized.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: It does, and I that's uh I think that's extremely important.
- 43:55SPEAKER_02: It does, and you know, you know, Jeff, we're we're just about out of time, but I there was one more email that I it's actually addressed to you.
- 44:02SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, I was gonna skip this one, Steve, because you know, I some of them are a little more personal than others.
- 44:08SPEAKER_03: Um this one, uh, but I'll I'll you know what?
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: Full disclosure, I'm not gonna hide anything from uh our audience.
- 44:15SPEAKER_02: I'm sure we're we need to give a understanding the facts, the truth, the whole story as part of our investigative journalism, the part of the incisiveness of the show.
- 44:25SPEAKER_03: And and in in fairness to me, uh, now that Glenn Fry is producing music for us, we are rock stars.
- 44:33SPEAKER_03: We are rock stars sometimes they indulge or overindulge, and I we should not be ashamed of it.
- 44:40SPEAKER_03: It helps the creative process, oftentimes.
- 44:43SPEAKER_03: You hear that all the time.
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: So this is this is from um narco.com.
- 44:48SPEAKER_03: Uh thank you for your recent order.
- 44:50SPEAKER_03: Unfortunately, state laws prohibit us from shipping opium to your home address.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's a you know wow, it is a bummer, but we have the studio address, which you know we could use.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: So I think that would help.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um, while we don't offer refunds, we can give your store credit for other items, including our very popular fruit roll-ups.
- 45:12SPEAKER_03: Love those.
- 45:13SPEAKER_03: Um order should uh should get you approximately 11 cases of fruit roll-ups, which uh we could ship immediately.
- 45:22SPEAKER_03: Oh, that sounds great.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: I I think that sounds good.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: Do you now are those fruit roll-ups um are those edibles?
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: Because uh I was hoping that there would be a lot of people.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: Well, I you know you definitely ask them.
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: I the way they describe it though, I think they are edible, but they're not edibles, you know, if you know what I mean.
- 45:41SPEAKER_02: I think they're like fruit roll-ups.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: I think edible but not eatable, or eatable but not edible, but not edible, yes.
- 45:49SPEAKER_02: I think they're like a tasty fruit snack that you can pack in a lunchbox or something.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: You know, after you've done edibles, that probably you need to do the edibles first, yeah.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 46:00SPEAKER_03: That makes sense.
- 46:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, that's about all I have in my uh mailbox.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: How about you, Steve?
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I I think I've looked at all of them too, other than the ones that are just obvious spam.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: I you know, there's no reason to read those, though everybody sees too many of those already.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: But you know, Jeff, and we we never got our Dr.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: Shrimp Dick.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying I'm I'm even gonna be soft on the pronunciation.
- 46:22SPEAKER_02: He is shrimp dick, as far as I'm concerned now, right?
- 46:25SPEAKER_03: Yes, me, he's soft too.
- 46:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but right.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: He was pretty soft on attending here today.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you.
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was a logo.
- 46:33SPEAKER_03: Uh it was something that I didn't expect from somebody of his kind or size.
- 46:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and uh uh he shriveled out of here, let me tell you.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: But uh, next time, Jeff, we are gonna have a tremendous guest, and I'm looking forward to our next show, Jeff.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: This this is fun, too.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 46:53SPEAKER_02: Hey, sounds good.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: I will uh see you next time, then Jeff.
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: All right, see you bye to everyone.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: Bye.
