  weekend. OK, what was I doing in that

  car? Well, if you remember, Ernie got

  hurt. Ernie went into turn one at

  Michigan during practice, I guess, blew a right front tire,

  hit the wall hard. It was a really, really bad

  situation. So, so Robert Yates, you know,

  by that time my stats were really good at Bristol,

  especially in the Xfinity Series.

  So and listen, I come off of a tough year.

  Remember that was that was 993 is when I drove the Dirt Devil

  car and that basically was the start of destroying my career

  was when Felix fired me. You know, it's kind of a deal.

  Like how do I overcome this? Well, I went and I went to

  Nashville and I got up with Fillmore Racing and I jumped in

  that car, you know, crew chief Gilmartin and all the boys, they

  made me a winner. I went to Victor Lane a lot in

  that red dog car. And it also was TIC stood for

  So Robert Yates knew I could get around Bristol as good as as

  good as a lot of them. We all know that brother Rusty,

  Darrell, Waltrip, Earnhardt, you know, the Bush brothers now,

  they're really good around there.

  So they, that's the reason they asked me.

  When I was watching myself on X on that video, I'm like, man,

  look how intense my face is. So I, I got into Turn 1 during

  practice, you know, and I had not run a cup car that much and

  I lost it. I got up in the marbles and lost

  it and just just touched the wall with the ass in and I was

  embarrassed. Brought that car in there.

  And boy, I'm going to tell you what that team back then, Larry

  McReynolds, Robert Yates, Doug Yates, that team, they they put

  together name some of the crew members right here, Joey

  Knuckles. I think Joey passed away.

  So sorry to hear about that. And a lot of great, great crew
