Wawa Knife Incident Ends in Shooting | Washington DC News
Just after midnight Saturday, a tense standoff erupted at a Wawa on Fairfax Boulevard when police arrived to find a suspect armed with a knife. After warnings went unheeded and the suspect fled with the weapon, an officer fired, striking the individual. The victim is in critical condition, but no officers or customers were harmed. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave as authorities, including the Northern Virginia Critical Incident Response Team, investigate.
