- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. Last time, we heard about a woman from
- 0:12Shunem. God gave her a son, and later restored
- 0:17him when all hope seemed lost. Again and again,
- 0:21we are seeing that God cares for His people.
- 0:25But what happens when there is not enough food?
- 0:29What happens when people are hungry and afraid?
- 0:33Today, we'll hear how God provided during a time
- 0:36of famine. And how he used even a small amount
- 0:40to feed many people. Are you ready? Let's jump
- 0:45in. There was a famine in the land. Food was
- 1:04hard to find. People did not have enough to eat.
- 1:08At that time, Elisha was with a group of prophets.
- 1:12They were hungry. So Elisha told a servant to
- 1:17prepare a large pot of stew for everyone. One
- 1:22of the men went out into the fields to gather
- 1:24plants for the stew. But he picked wild gourds
- 1:28that no one recognized. He sliced them into the
- 1:32pot. Soon, the men realized something was wrong.
- 1:37The stew was dangerous to eat. They cried out
- 1:41to Elisha. Then Elisha asked for flour. He threw
- 1:47it into the pot and told the men to serve the
- 1:50food again. And this time, the stew was safe
- 1:54to eat. God had provided for them and removed
- 1:58the danger. Later, a man came bringing food to
- 2:02Elisha. He brought twenty loaves of bread made
- 2:06from the first harvest, along with grain. It
- 2:11was not enough food for so many people. But Elisha
- 2:15told the servant to give it to the people to
- 2:18eat. The servant was surprised. How could such
- 2:22a small amount feed so many? But Elisha told
- 2:26him that the Lord had said the people would eat
- 2:29and there would still be food left over. The
- 2:33food was shared among the people. And just as
- 2:37the Lord had said, everyone ate. There was enough
- 2:41for all of them. And there was food left over.
- 2:45God had provided once again. Let's think about
- 2:55this story together Why do you think the famine
- 3:01made these moments so important? The bread did
- 3:08not seem like enough at first Have you ever felt
- 3:13like something was too small to help? Who was
- 3:20the one truly providing for the people? What
- 3:27do these stories teach us about trusting God?
- 3:33Sometimes what we have seems small. But God is
- 3:37able to provide in ways we do not expect. And
- 3:41God cares for his people, even in difficult times.
- 3:47Thanks for joining me today. Next time on Wonderfully
- 3:52Made. We'll hear about a commander named Naaman.
- 3:56He was powerful and respected, but very sick.
- 4:00A servant girl will speak with courage. And God
- 4:05will do something surprising through a simple
- 4:07act of obedience. We'll find out next time. Until
- 4:13then, remember, you are wonderfully made. Bye
- 4:18for now.
