  But what happens when there is not enough food?

  What happens when people are hungry and afraid?

  Today, we'll hear how God provided during a time

  of famine. And how he used even a small amount

  to feed many people. Are you ready? Let's jump

  in. There was a famine in the land. Food was

  hard to find. People did not have enough to eat.

  At that time, Elisha was with a group of prophets.

  They were hungry. So Elisha told a servant to

  prepare a large pot of stew for everyone. One

  of the men went out into the fields to gather

  plants for the stew. But he picked wild gourds

  that no one recognized. He sliced them into the

  pot. Soon, the men realized something was wrong.

  The stew was dangerous to eat. They cried out

  to Elisha. Then Elisha asked for flour. He threw

  it into the pot and told the men to serve the

  food again. And this time, the stew was safe

  to eat. God had provided for them and removed

  the danger. Later, a man came bringing food to

  Elisha. He brought twenty loaves of bread made

  from the first harvest, along with grain. It

  was not enough food for so many people. But Elisha

  told the servant to give it to the people to

  eat. The servant was surprised. How could such

  a small amount feed so many? But Elisha told

  him that the Lord had said the people would eat

  and there would still be food left over. The

  food was shared among the people. And just as

  the Lord had said, everyone ate. There was enough

  for all of them. And there was food left over.

  God had provided once again. Let's think about
