- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Let's go, baby, let's go.
- 0:05Speaker 1: From a championship backfield to your morning drive.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Hands to Hester, and Hester.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Yep, got it, five out of five.
- 0:11Speaker 1: You're locked in to Off the Bench.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Flynn is back to throw for the end zone ball.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, here's Jacob Hester and
- 0:23Speaker 1: Matt Flynn.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That's right. We're going. We're still here. It's all right.
- 0:55Speaker 2: We'll talk about it. Saints won. If the Saints didn't win,
- 0:59Speaker 2: maybe you don't get a yo.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Let's go, Saints.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Let's go, Saints.
- 1:02Speaker 3: But you get a yo when they go on the
- 1:03Speaker 3: road and beat the Baltimore Ravens as an eight-and-a-half-point dog, okay?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Let's go.
- 1:07Speaker 2: That's the Saints show today, baby. No, it's going to be,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I mean, look. We'll talk about it. We'll have therapy
- 1:11Speaker 2: about it. All right? That's what they say you got
- 1:15Speaker 2: to do. You got to talk it out, talk through
- 1:18Speaker 2: the pain. That's how you heal. The fastest way to recovery.
- 1:22Speaker 2: It is. It is. And there's a lot to talk about,
- 1:25Speaker 2: a lot to get into with that game.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It's one of those deals where as I was sitting
- 1:31Speaker 3: in the booth and you're down 17, and if you'd
- 1:33Speaker 3: have told me that at one point in the fourth quarter,
- 1:36Speaker 3: it's going to be tied up and.
- 1:37Speaker 2: You're going to have a chance.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I called you a liar right to your face with
- 1:41Speaker 3: the way that that game was because it wasn't like
- 1:44Speaker 3: exactly equal at that point.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Not at all. Not at all. So, you know, there's
- 1:50Speaker 2: a lot to talk about. There's some good.
- 1:52Speaker 3: There's a lot of bad and there's some stuff that's
- 1:56Speaker 3: still in between. But, again, we'll talk about it. But
- 2:01Speaker 3: for that football team across the street, they've got to
- 2:05Speaker 3: get ready for Texas A & M. And I don't
- 2:07Speaker 3: care if A & M lost to Kentucky. They've got
- 2:09Speaker 3: to get ready for that. That's a team that's beaten
- 2:11Speaker 3: you twice in a row when you've led them at halftime.
- 2:14Speaker 3: So there's a lot to get into when it comes
- 2:16Speaker 3: to the old LSU Fighting Tigers.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot to work on. And we will
- 2:22Speaker 2: certainly be diving into the things that we've seen from now.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I can't lie to everybody and say that I've uh
- 2:29Speaker 2: taking a dive into the film yet uh to see
- 2:33Speaker 2: the x's and o's i'm watching it right now i'm
- 2:35Speaker 2: in the first quarter still i'm sad i'm sad watching
- 2:40Speaker 2: it a little bit but certainly a lot to work
- 2:43Speaker 2: on uh good you know it's going into week four
- 2:46Speaker 2: so there's a lot of season left and but there
- 2:49Speaker 2: will be no excuses made for anybody here on this show.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I like the way that sounds nobody's safe.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Except us.
- 2:59Speaker 5: You know when people are like, a lot of game left.
- 3:01Speaker 2: A lot of season left. I'm like, oh. You know what?
- 3:04Speaker 2: I said it and I was like, I didn't love it. No.
- 3:08Speaker 2: That sounded really.
- 3:09Speaker 5: It sounded like you surrendered.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It made it kind of. Yeah. It kind of did.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Because I just watched like the first half of the
- 3:15Speaker 2: first quarter on offense. I got real sad. Like I said.
- 3:19Speaker 2: It wasn't great football.
- 3:24Speaker 3: No, I mean, I think anybody would tell you that
- 3:27Speaker 3: certainly early in that game, it was not what they
- 3:30Speaker 3: want to put on tape. Now, I will say this.
- 3:34Speaker 3: There's no moral victories in sports. I say it all
- 3:36Speaker 3: the time. I said it to my flag football team
- 3:38Speaker 3: last night. But you do appreciate the fight. That is
- 3:44Speaker 3: one thing I did appreciate. Very easily, because I was
- 3:47Speaker 3: in the stadium. There wasn't an empty seat. They were
- 3:51Speaker 3: locked in. They were engaged, obvious, right? But even being there,
- 3:54Speaker 3: I've been to that place a lot of times.
- 3:56Speaker 2: That's the best it's ever been.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So, yeah, well, I know. And that's another obvious statement. But,
- 4:01Speaker 3: I mean, it was the best it's ever been. And
- 4:05Speaker 3: very easily a team could have gone down 17 and
- 4:07Speaker 3: just folded it in in that environment.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And they didn't.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Look, they tied it up and they had all the momentum.
- 4:13Speaker 3: And I'll be honest with you. If they would have
- 4:15Speaker 3: scored instead of kicking the field goal, they'd win that game.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Right. I truly believe that. They'd win that game.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Just where the game flow was going, where the momentum
- 4:25Speaker 3: was going, and you're down there. It's third and one,
- 4:29Speaker 3: and you ran the direct snap, and so we'll talk
- 4:31Speaker 3: about that as a play.
- 4:33Speaker 2: You run that.
- 4:34Speaker 3: You lose a yard, so you got to kick the
- 4:36Speaker 3: field goal. You got to tie it up. If you
- 4:40Speaker 3: score there, I think you win the game. And there's
- 4:42Speaker 3: plenty of time left. Trinidad goes down, and he scores
- 4:44Speaker 3: another touchdown, but I just think it changes the mood
- 4:47Speaker 3: and the feeling of the game if you go and
- 4:48Speaker 3: you punch one in and you take the lead which
- 4:52Speaker 3: would have been 28-24.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I see what you're saying, and I can support that
- 4:59Speaker 2: as an LSU fan, but as a football fan, I
- 5:02Speaker 2: don't think you're beating Trinidad Chambliss, especially going down by
- 5:05Speaker 2: 17 points, the way he's playing. I don't think you
- 5:07Speaker 2: beat him.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Well, if you think about it, then I don't think
- 5:11Speaker 3: they would go for two either at that point. So
- 5:13Speaker 3: if they even go down and score the touchdown, then
- 5:16Speaker 3: it's 31-28. And then you're down on the five-yard line.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Then you're kicking a field goal to at least force overtime. And, look,
- 5:23Speaker 3: overtime with that quarterback, he's got a lot of advantages, right?
- 5:30Speaker 3: But you felt like they grabbed some momentum back when
- 5:35Speaker 3: they didn't really have any whenever they stopped you and
- 5:38Speaker 3: you had to settle for a field goal.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Hey, man, I'm with you. Absolutely. LSU. LSU wins it.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That was a big, that was, that was a, um, huge.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I mean, I was, I was feeling all the emotions
- 5:53Speaker 2: just like everybody else was. And I was obviously sweating, uh,
- 5:57Speaker 2: sweating the downs and I was sweating the ups even more. So,
- 6:02Speaker 2: and I agree with what you're saying. Um, but let's
- 6:07Speaker 2: take our hat off to the best player in the
- 6:11Speaker 2: United States of America and the college football game. Mr.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Trinidad played his, played his ass off. Um, and playing
- 6:18Speaker 2: at a different level than everybody else. Now, certainly they
- 6:23Speaker 2: went through a little bit of a scoring lull in
- 6:25Speaker 2: the second half.
- 6:26Speaker 3: LSU, just as you stated. They only scored, what, one
- 6:30Speaker 3: score in the entire second half.
- 6:31Speaker 4: That last touchdown was their only points in the second half.
- 6:35Speaker 2: But in a game where everything was hyped up, just
- 6:38Speaker 2: like you said, the stadium has never been like that,
- 6:40Speaker 2: and obviously so. There's never been a buildup quite like
- 6:44Speaker 2: this game in a long time in college football. It
- 6:48Speaker 2: was one of those games where no matter what the
- 6:51Speaker 2: down and distance was, no matter at what period it
- 6:54Speaker 2: was in the game, it felt like every single play
- 6:59Speaker 2: was going to change the outcome of the game. It
- 7:03Speaker 2: was never like, oh, I'm watching this game. Okay, let's
- 7:06Speaker 2: set this one up. I was on the edge of
- 7:08Speaker 2: my seat every single play. Like, this is the play.
- 7:10Speaker 2: This is the play of the game right here. Every
- 7:11Speaker 2: single one. And that is why sports is awesome. And
- 7:16Speaker 2: it was an awesome game. Now, it's frustrating. Obviously, we lose.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It's frustrating how you lose. You make a lot of mistakes.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I think from top to bottom, you're the better team.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But they got the better player who, even though they
- 7:29Speaker 2: weren't scoring, he was still making big plays to keep,
- 7:33Speaker 2: you know, to improve field position, to flip the field,
- 7:35Speaker 2: to do different things. And it was impressive to watch.
- 7:43Speaker 5: It was impressive, but also very annoying.
- 7:45Speaker 2: It was very annoying.
- 7:46Speaker 5: It was so annoying.
- 7:46Speaker 2: It was very annoying to have.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I was like, stop it.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah, stop doing that, Trinidad. I mean, and I'm not
- 7:53Speaker 2: trying to be funny here.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Like, when you have these quarterbacks, certainly, and it's really
- 7:58Speaker 3: spread across college, but we still have older quarterbacks, too. Like,
- 8:03Speaker 3: you can tell they're more composed than, like, you were 21,
- 8:06Speaker 3: 22 years old when you were in this moment.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He's 24. Like, we were in our third year in
- 8:12Speaker 2: the NFL. Mm-hmm. At 24.
- 8:14Speaker 3: And so, and that's not, look, it is what it is,
- 8:17Speaker 3: that part of it. But, like, you can tell, like,
- 8:19Speaker 3: in the moment, a lot of these quarterbacks, too, have
- 8:24Speaker 3: been through it. The moment's not, you know, too big
- 8:27Speaker 3: for them. Home or away. And it's a different set
- 8:30Speaker 3: of emotions, too. And so, you know, in a game
- 8:34Speaker 3: like that, like, it's going to come down to the
- 8:37Speaker 3: which player, and certainly the quarterback's going to be the
- 8:39Speaker 3: most important here, Like, which one can stay composed? And
- 8:42Speaker 3: when the moment presents itself, are you going to be
- 8:45Speaker 3: able to go make the play?
- 8:47Speaker 2: Ole Miss's quarterback did. LSU's quarterback did not. Yeah. I mean,
- 8:51Speaker 2: there was quite the contrast between quarterbacks. Now, that's not
- 8:55Speaker 2: a knock at Sam. And I would never put, like,
- 8:59Speaker 2: the composed stigma on any quarterback that plays the way
- 9:05Speaker 2: Sam does. I mean, he runs around. That's his game. Like,
- 9:08Speaker 2: first play the game, he's running around. yeah like a
- 9:11Speaker 2: madman right um so like that's not a composure thing
- 9:14Speaker 2: that's just the style of play thing and it and
- 9:17Speaker 2: look he does it too much there's also part of
- 9:23Speaker 2: like as a coach you that has paid off for
- 9:27Speaker 2: you already in the short in the three games like
- 9:29Speaker 2: it's paid off for you a lot like that that
- 9:32Speaker 2: ability that the athleticism, the knack to go make a play,
- 9:36Speaker 2: but you've got to hone it in. He's got to
- 9:42Speaker 2: start playing within the system. I've watched one quarter of
- 9:45Speaker 2: film already, and it's the same thing I've been saying
- 9:48Speaker 2: for the first two weeks. He's playing too fast within
- 9:52Speaker 2: the system. Way too fast. and with it like what
- 9:54Speaker 2: i mean by like like it's not that he's scrambling
- 9:57Speaker 2: too much and surrounding too soon he's going through his
- 10:00Speaker 2: progressions too fast before the route concepts develop like first
- 10:03Speaker 2: play the game he could throw a touchdown on a
- 10:05Speaker 2: post yeah like or if he didn't throw the touchdown
- 10:08Speaker 2: the post he could have the over route or the
- 10:10Speaker 2: backside dig route and it was good protection like yes
- 10:13Speaker 2: there was some protection breakdowns and yes there are there
- 10:15Speaker 2: are deficiencies with this offensive line But, my God, it's
- 10:18Speaker 2: so much better than it was a year ago. Like,
- 10:22Speaker 2: you've got to be able to just work the progressions.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And I have not seen– now, again, I'm only one
- 10:28Speaker 2: quarter in, and I know that, like, with the emotions
- 10:31Speaker 2: and the buildup to the game, like, yeah, as a quarter,
- 10:33Speaker 2: you've got to settle into a game. And maybe I
- 10:35Speaker 2: hadn't got to that portion, and I know we play
- 10:37Speaker 2: better in the second half, but there are plays to
- 10:40Speaker 2: be made out there that aren't being made by the
- 10:42Speaker 2: starting quarterback. Now– He makes other crazy plays that make
- 10:47Speaker 2: you like, wow.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, the fourth down conversion to keep the game going.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And it's like, man, nobody else is making that except
- 10:53Speaker 2: for him. Yeah. But he's got to. There is so
- 10:56Speaker 2: much room for improvement with Sam Leavitt that it is encouraging,
- 11:01Speaker 2: but it remains to be seen if it happens.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 2: We will see. Now, if he can take that next
- 11:07Speaker 2: step and slow down, like they got to be working
- 11:10Speaker 2: the coaching on him so much, like go through walkthroughs
- 11:13Speaker 2: with him. Do the footwork. Slow your footwork down on
- 11:17Speaker 2: your drop backs or elongate the steps on your drop back.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It's got to time up better. Each hitch that you
- 11:23Speaker 2: make as a quarterback, you hitch up once, hitch up twice.
- 11:26Speaker 2: It's got to match up with the different route concepts.
- 11:29Speaker 2: He's hitching once, hitching twice. Already he's to the hitch
- 11:32Speaker 2: that's supposed to be the backside dig route and he's
- 11:35Speaker 2: four yards from his break. Then he's getting off of
- 11:38Speaker 2: him because he's not there. He's got to slow down.
- 11:42Speaker 2: If And, again, this is an if. Yeah. Because this
- 11:46Speaker 2: is midseason. We're going into week four after a loss,
- 11:49Speaker 2: going against Texas A & M at home. Like, there's
- 11:51Speaker 2: a short amount of time to do that. But we've
- 11:54Speaker 2: seen it happen. We saw Jaden Daniels do it, like,
- 11:56Speaker 2: seemingly overnight a couple of years ago. Tennessee game. He
- 12:01Speaker 2: was not playing great football. Right. Like, Jaden Daniels was
- 12:03Speaker 2: not playing very good. He couldn't get past the first or, like,
- 12:07Speaker 2: past the first read. He certainly couldn't get to a
- 12:10Speaker 2: check down. Now, they weren't doing him any favors as
- 12:12Speaker 2: far as the play concepts they were getting. But I
- 12:15Speaker 2: know he got in the virtual reality stuff, and he
- 12:17Speaker 2: started doing all that different things, and it seemed like overnight.
- 12:20Speaker 2: That kind of progression has to happen with Sam Leavitt
- 12:22Speaker 2: because he can do some things nobody else is going
- 12:25Speaker 2: to do athletically. And it has already proven to be
- 12:28Speaker 2: a huge benefit for your team. But if LSU wants
- 12:32Speaker 2: any chance to be consistently good on offense and a threat,
- 12:37Speaker 2: which they can be, but it's got to be frustrating
- 12:40Speaker 2: as a coach because you have these plays drawn up
- 12:42Speaker 2: and there are options available. And sometimes, yes, the protection
- 12:46Speaker 2: does break down and he's got to go do his thing,
- 12:48Speaker 2: but when it's still there, you've got to get through it.
- 12:51Speaker 2: You've got to slow down.
- 12:52Speaker 6: Right.
- 12:52Speaker 3: And it's evident, like even watching it live, you don't
- 12:55Speaker 3: even have to really watch the tape, but certainly in
- 12:57Speaker 3: the tape it's going to show up that he just
- 12:59Speaker 3: needs to settle into a game, needs to go through
- 13:01Speaker 3: those progressions.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And also... It's been three weeks in a row. I know.
- 13:05Speaker 2: And then also... when you have an open receiver, you
- 13:10Speaker 2: got to set your feet.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Like, I don't care who you are. You're not going
- 13:13Speaker 3: to have both feet off the ground and complete a pass. There's,
- 13:16Speaker 3: there's going to be, I don't even know if you
- 13:17Speaker 3: got in there yet, but there's going to be three
- 13:19Speaker 3: plays that you see where there's an open receiver that
- 13:22Speaker 3: he does find. And then just, it's an Aaron throw
- 13:25Speaker 3: because it's all feet and legs.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Footwork is not good. It's, it's, it's not good. And
- 13:30Speaker 2: it's not set now. That's crazy to say because he's
- 13:33Speaker 2: such a good athlete. Yeah. And it can't like, it
- 13:35Speaker 2: can improve, but like if, If your footwork is not
- 13:39Speaker 2: timed up with your route concept, then if somebody flies
- 13:44Speaker 2: open and you're midway through your second hitch or you're
- 13:50Speaker 2: midway through your footwork or whatever, you're not ready to
- 13:52Speaker 2: throw it. Then you kind of got to rush it
- 13:54Speaker 2: and push it and your timing gets all screwed up.
- 13:58Speaker 3: And then on the other side, you talk about footwork
- 14:02Speaker 3: and getting the ball out. For Ole Miss on their offense,
- 14:06Speaker 3: and I mentioned on the broadcast multiple times, they were
- 14:09Speaker 3: respecting LSU's rush enough where if Trinidad got the football,
- 14:14Speaker 3: he was either getting rid of it right now or
- 14:17Speaker 3: they put him on the move. There was only three plays, Matt,
- 14:20Speaker 3: where Trinidad Chambliss dropped back, went through a progression, hit
- 14:23Speaker 3: his back foot, and made a throw. There was not many,
- 14:26Speaker 3: and certainly not any real deep shots. Only a handful
- 14:29Speaker 3: of times. That was their plan. was either get it
- 14:32Speaker 3: out of his hand in the pocket quick or put
- 14:34Speaker 3: him on the move. And that was their game plan
- 14:36Speaker 3: that they had coming in. And I was a little
- 14:40Speaker 3: bit surprised that they couldn't ever get Sam in that.
- 14:45Speaker 3: They couldn't get him to a point where, okay, hey,
- 14:48Speaker 3: get the ball out of your hand. Let's put him
- 14:49Speaker 3: on the move. Because I just don't think that he
- 14:53Speaker 3: ever found that groove to be able to even call
- 14:56Speaker 3: something quick out of his hand, like a very quick, Boom,
- 15:00Speaker 3: then we get an easy throw out.
- 15:01Speaker 2: You did some. I mean, you got a couple here
- 15:03Speaker 2: and there. And some get the ball out of your
- 15:06Speaker 2: hand quickly. There was big first down conversions. A couple
- 15:10Speaker 2: RPOs that did look good. With the first RPO. Oh,
- 15:15Speaker 2: when he should have handed it. It was five to
- 15:17Speaker 2: block three. Jones would have gone 70, I think. Five
- 15:20Speaker 2: guys to block three. That's one of those ones where
- 15:23Speaker 2: a pencil almost got broken. Because I saw it live.
- 15:27Speaker 2: The whole first half, I was screaming. Run the ball.
- 15:32Speaker 2: First down. I was, too. Run the ball.
- 15:36Speaker 3: In the second half, LSU did a really good job
- 15:39Speaker 3: of not allowing the score to affect the play calling,
- 15:44Speaker 3: knowing you have time. There was first down runs, and
- 15:48Speaker 3: it changed the complete dynamic of everything they were doing.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Because Jones had a day. He had a workman. day
- 15:55Speaker 3: of 23 carries, 106 yards, four and a half yards
- 15:58Speaker 3: per pop. Like that's what you like in a game
- 16:01Speaker 3: like that. If you would have said before the game, Hey,
- 16:04Speaker 3: Dylan Jones is going to have a day. You're going
- 16:06Speaker 3: to run for 172 yards and Ole Miss is going
- 16:09Speaker 3: to run for 63 as a team. You'd felt pretty
- 16:12Speaker 3: good about it, about your chances to win the game.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, and look as bad as it did seem,
- 16:23Speaker 2: and certainly early on defensively as well, you still set
- 16:27Speaker 2: yourself up with an opportunity to tie it up at
- 16:31Speaker 2: the end of the game. And it couldn't convert, of course,
- 16:34Speaker 2: and you can point to a lot of different reasons why,
- 16:36Speaker 2: but this is still a very good and talented LSU team. Now,
- 16:40Speaker 2: how good can they be? There's going to be games
- 16:43Speaker 2: that are going to come down to the wire just
- 16:44Speaker 2: like that, and you've got to finish it off. The
- 16:47Speaker 2: quarterback's got to improve. The line's got to improve. I
- 16:49Speaker 2: think everybody knows, like both of us, Play Collins got
- 16:53Speaker 2: to improve on the defense. Play Collins got to improve
- 16:55Speaker 2: on the offense when it matters. But just like Jake said,
- 16:58Speaker 2: second half, I was proud of the fight and proud of,
- 17:02Speaker 2: because we've seen teams in the past that the game was,
- 17:06Speaker 2: you know, closer than that, and we've seen loafs around
- 17:10Speaker 2: on both sides of the ball.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:12Speaker 2: From the offense, from the defense, we've seen people that
- 17:15Speaker 2: aren't quite playing to the standard effort, the effort center that,
- 17:21Speaker 2: LSU Tigers should have. And they did that. So credit
- 17:24Speaker 2: to them on that. Now, it doesn't matter. There's no
- 17:26Speaker 2: moral victories. And so, of course, we're all disappointed and
- 17:28Speaker 2: pissed that we lost. And everybody should be. That's what
- 17:32Speaker 2: makes sports beautiful. All right.
- 17:35Speaker 3: So a ton to obviously still get to when it
- 17:37Speaker 3: comes to LSU and Ole Miss. Certainly a lot to
- 17:41Speaker 3: get to when it comes to the Saints going on
- 17:42Speaker 3: the road and beating the Baltimore Ravens. And we'll try
- 17:45Speaker 3: to get to it all here today on OTB. More
- 17:48Speaker 3: when we come back here live from the Raising Cane Studios.

- 20:30Speaker 3: friends over at Bayou Automotive. BayouAutomotive.com is the website. All right, Alondra,
- 20:37Speaker 3: how was Pelican to Mars? It looked like, you know,
- 20:40Speaker 3: it was fun until maybe the end.
- 20:42Speaker 6: Yeah, so I guess the first half was kind of whatever.
- 20:45Speaker 6: And then they started to really just, like, come back,
- 20:49Speaker 6: and it got lit.
- 20:50Speaker 5: But, yeah, Pelican to Mars.
- 20:51Speaker 6: Was super fun. It was a great time. Away games,
- 20:54Speaker 6: we're going to be doing watch parties. They're all season long, so.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Did you say nobody howled at you?
- 21:00Speaker 5: No one howled at me, which I was kind of
- 21:02Speaker 5: happy about.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. You did. Write a pretty big check.
- 21:06Speaker 4: I did.
- 21:07Speaker 5: I'm glad I didn't have to cash it.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt.
- 21:10Speaker 5: I'm not doing that again.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's smart.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Just in case.
- 21:12Speaker 2: That's smart.
- 21:13Speaker 5: But yeah, Pelican to Mars was fun, I guess. I
- 21:16Speaker 5: was very.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I mean, for the way the game went.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Pelican to Mars itself was fun. The game was.
- 21:20Speaker 6: And then I was stressed out and people were kind
- 21:25Speaker 6: of making jokes about it, but it's fine.
- 21:28Speaker 2: About you being stressed out? Yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 6: I was like, see, this is why I can't watch
- 21:31Speaker 6: games in public because I get like this.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:35Speaker 6: This guy was like, same girl. Cause I was like,
- 21:37Speaker 6: this is just my head in my hands.
- 21:39Speaker 5: He was like, me too.
- 21:43Speaker 2: See, I'm like that too. Yeah. But I'm also on
- 21:45Speaker 2: the broadcast.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Of the game. I would not be able to do that.
- 21:48Speaker 5: My neighbor was with me.
- 21:49Speaker 6: She was like, I don't know what you're mumbling to
- 21:51Speaker 6: yourself over there, but it's going to be okay.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yes. Um, we did, uh, I took the kiddos over
- 21:58Speaker 2: Lacey's Lacey's out of town. She's on a little girl's trip.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And so I took the kiddos over to friend's house
- 22:03Speaker 2: just so like, They could play with some friends or
- 22:06Speaker 2: watch the game a little bit. Yeah. Snatch them up
- 22:09Speaker 2: at halftime. Come on. We got to go. Your kids
- 22:12Speaker 2: or the other kids? My kids. It's important. Get your
- 22:15Speaker 2: butts in the car. We're going home. I got to go.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I can't be around. Yeah. I can't be around people.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I got to go watch this in the comfort, in
- 22:22Speaker 2: the safety. Yeah. I'll say it. The safety of our
- 22:25Speaker 2: own home. Yeah. We're not having fun, kids. In the car.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Let's go over some. No snacks. No snacks. No goldfish.
- 22:35Speaker 5: Graham crackers.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Don't take her graham crackers. Put that apple juice down.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Hey, I know you just lifted this huge buffet up
- 22:45Speaker 3: my stairs, but.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I'm going to need you to put those graham crackers down. Mr. Jacob,
- 22:50Speaker 2: those are snacks. And I'm going to need you to
- 22:53Speaker 2: stop eating them. But I'm hanging by a thread. Yeah,
- 22:57Speaker 2: but it's not going to put the snacks back. Right.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Y'all know what we should do?
- 23:00Speaker 6: What?
- 23:02Speaker 5: Not right now, but let's open up the text line.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Oh, I like that.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Get some listener reaction to the game, but also if
- 23:09Speaker 6: you have questions for y'all.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Because I'm sure people got questions.
- 23:13Speaker 2: No, they for sure do.
- 23:14Speaker 3: And we're going to spend a lot of hour one
- 23:16Speaker 3: on LSU. The Saints deserve a lot of talk as well.
- 23:19Speaker 3: That was an awesome, awesome victory by them to go
- 23:23Speaker 3: on the road, to be such an underdog, and to
- 23:25Speaker 3: win the game. And to do it, that's a team
- 23:28Speaker 3: and a place that you just typically don't Don't go
- 23:30Speaker 3: in there and win like that. So they deserve their
- 23:32Speaker 3: own hour as well. But let's do that. Open up
- 23:34Speaker 3: the text line. The number is.
- 23:36Speaker 2: 225-499-1045.
- 23:36Speaker 5: There you go.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Because, you know, maybe sometimes you don't want your username
- 23:43Speaker 3: on YouTube to say what you got to say. So
- 23:46Speaker 3: you can do that. Of course, we'll get to some.
- 23:48Speaker 3: If we see some in the chat during the segment
- 23:51Speaker 3: as well, we'll continue doing that. But before we take
- 23:53Speaker 3: a break to kind of get back on clock, I
- 23:55Speaker 3: just want to go over the team stats real quick.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Because....
- 23:59Speaker 3: They're a little bit closer than you think, but there's
- 24:01Speaker 3: some key areas to kind of point out here. First
- 24:03Speaker 3: down is Ole Miss 25, LSU 19. Third down efficiency,
- 24:08Speaker 3: both teams actually really good. Ole Miss 9 of 15,
- 24:11Speaker 3: LSU was 9 of 17. LSU 2 of 3 on
- 24:15Speaker 3: fourth down, the only one they didn't get.
- 24:16Speaker 2: 9 of 17 is really good. Yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 3: That's really good. I mean, Jimbo Fisher would even be
- 24:20Speaker 3: happy with 9 of 17.
- 24:22Speaker 2: If you were, like, getting close to 40%, that's a
- 24:25Speaker 2: really good day. No, that's close to 50%. That's better
- 24:29Speaker 2: than 50%. Yep. College eight. There's one thing I can
- 24:34Speaker 2: do is math.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Fourth down efficiency, you're two of three. The only one
- 24:37Speaker 3: you missed out on was the last one that hit
- 24:38Speaker 3: the Guardian helmet. Ole Miss was one of one. Total yards,
- 24:41Speaker 3: 426 for Ole Miss, 330 for LSU. Ole Miss had
- 24:43Speaker 3: 363 through the air.
- 24:44Speaker 2: You had 158.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Yards per pass, 7.6 for Ole Miss, 5.9 for LSU.
- 24:46Speaker 3: I actually thought that would be a bigger number as
- 24:49Speaker 3: far as where Ole Miss was. I thought they would
- 24:58Speaker 3: be closer to nine, like watching the game live. And
- 25:01Speaker 3: after going back and watching and looking at it, rushing yards, you,
- 25:05Speaker 3: you blew them out the water. 172 to 63 penalties,
- 25:10Speaker 3: seven for 34 for LSU, eight for 77 for Ole
- 25:13Speaker 3: Miss turnovers, one a piece. So when you, in time
- 25:17Speaker 3: of possession, LSU was getting crushed in time of possession.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Then they fought their way back. They actually took time
- 25:22Speaker 3: of possession, 30, 15 to 29, 45. And so like,
- 25:27Speaker 3: of the analytics of the game, it probably, like, at
- 25:31Speaker 3: least for me, and I don't want to speak for
- 25:32Speaker 3: anybody in here, I thought it would be more in
- 25:35Speaker 3: favor of Ole Miss with just watching the way the
- 25:37Speaker 3: game flow was in a lot of those categories that
- 25:39Speaker 3: we just said.
- 25:40Speaker 4: If you'd have told me they rushed for less than
- 25:42Speaker 4: 70 yards and you absolutely shut down Kiwan Lacey, I
- 25:46Speaker 4: would have said LSU won this game by two touchdowns
- 25:47Speaker 4: because they love to run the ball just as much
- 25:49Speaker 4: as you do.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And, yeah, man, it was just one of those weird
- 25:52Speaker 2: things where you look at, like, we were.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Talking during break, They had something up on the broadcast
- 25:57Speaker 4: that said, in the first half, Ole Miss is 7
- 26:00Speaker 4: of 9 on third down, but their average yards to
- 26:03Speaker 4: go was 11 and a half yards. So you were
- 26:05Speaker 4: awesome on first and second down, even in the first half.
- 26:08Speaker 4: You just couldn't stop Trinidad Chambliss when it mattered most. And, like,
- 26:11Speaker 4: kind of carried over the whole game. Because you shut
- 26:13Speaker 4: them down on first and second down, and you shut
- 26:14Speaker 4: down Q1 Lacey, and it still didn't matter.
- 26:17Speaker 2: It was funny about watching Trinidad when you watch somebody
- 26:19Speaker 2: really good like that. They make really hard things look easy. Yes,
- 26:24Speaker 2: there was a couple of plays where everybody jaw dropped,
- 26:27Speaker 2: like the third down conversion, rolling to the right, the
- 26:29Speaker 2: corner route, whatever. Those are the plays that are going
- 26:33Speaker 2: to be run on that highlight film when he is
- 26:36Speaker 2: in New York City at the Heisman Ceremony this year.
- 26:40Speaker 2: But it's making plays that look really basic like that
- 26:44Speaker 2: I really like, cause he's getting to his progressions really
- 26:47Speaker 2: fast and he's making really good reads, making really good throws.
- 26:50Speaker 2: And it's, it's, he made just a lot of plays
- 26:53Speaker 2: that didn't make your jaw drop, but they were really good,
- 26:56Speaker 2: efficient quarterback play footwork scrambling out, but scrambling out like,
- 27:03Speaker 2: and not doing it like a chicken with his head
- 27:04Speaker 2: cut off, but he's scrambling out and then he's buying
- 27:07Speaker 2: time as he's to, to give his routes time to
- 27:10Speaker 2: develop and his guys time to get open and then
- 27:11Speaker 2: making really good throws on the run. So, Just tip
- 27:14Speaker 2: of the cap to turn it up. I know you
- 27:16Speaker 2: should be in the NFL right now, but you are
- 27:18Speaker 2: playing college football and doing it at a very high level. Dude,
- 27:21Speaker 2: stepping up with the pocket, hitting those dig routes in
- 27:23Speaker 2: the first half. Who do you want that? He's an
- 27:26Speaker 2: NFL quarterback playing. And I've said this about guys that
- 27:29Speaker 2: get to this level in college. I said that about Jaden.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I said that about Burrow. Like, you can tell when
- 27:34Speaker 2: a guy is 100% ready and could play in the
- 27:38Speaker 2: NFL now and he's still playing college because there is no, like,
- 27:44Speaker 2: College and the NFL are not the same, and they're
- 27:47Speaker 2: not even close to the same. So if you're ready
- 27:48Speaker 2: for one and playing at that level, you're going to
- 27:51Speaker 2: be dominant, and he was. All right.
- 27:55Speaker 3: We'll continue this conversation, and we'll get to some of
- 27:58Speaker 3: your texts. Again, 225-499-1045 is the text line. Obviously, get
- 28:03Speaker 3: inside the chat as well. I see a bunch of
- 28:04Speaker 3: stuff in there. We'll continue breaking it down, and we'll
- 28:07Speaker 3: do it right here on OTB.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Off the Bench.
- 28:10Speaker 3: All right, if you are looking for a brand new
- 28:14Speaker 3: bathroom in your home, you want to give it a brand.

- 28:20Speaker 3: It does not look new, and you want to upgrade
- 28:22Speaker 3: your space, and you're not really wanting to have weeks
- 28:26Speaker 3: of construction to do so. If you want it done

- 28:57Speaker 2: And it's just like, man, it's time. It's time to

- 30:38Speaker 3: your local Rouse's.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Go to Rouse's.com.
- 30:42Speaker 3: All right, let's go to Alondra, who's got the text line.
- 30:45Speaker 3: And that thing is heating up.
- 30:47Speaker 2: I got a text.
- 30:48Speaker 5: Actually, I got a lot of texts.
- 30:51Speaker 6: Okay, I'm going to just go in the order that
- 30:53Speaker 6: they came in. Most of these are the same question anyway.
- 30:56Speaker 6: Why is Levitt's footwork so bad? Is that not a
- 30:59Speaker 6: day one basic stuff to get down before moving on?
- 31:02Speaker 2: I don't know. I haven't. I didn't, like, dissect his
- 31:06Speaker 2: game at Arizona State. I think I watched with everybody
- 31:09Speaker 2: else in the country when they were making the playoff run. Yeah.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Two years ago or three seasons ago now. And it
- 31:16Speaker 2: wasn't that noticeable. He seemed to play well, make plays.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know if it's just the
- 31:22Speaker 2: comfortability of a new offense, a new type of scheme.
- 31:28Speaker 2: And I'm not saying it's like bad footwork. Obviously, he's athletic.
- 31:34Speaker 2: But it's not the correct footwork for the past concepts
- 31:39Speaker 2: that are being run, if that makes sense. Yeah. Okay,
- 31:42Speaker 2: and I'm going to talk about a lot of people
- 31:44Speaker 2: that listening can understand under center footwork. There's a three-step drop,
- 31:48Speaker 2: a five-step drop, seven-step drop as a quarterback. But not
- 31:53Speaker 2: every five-step drop is the same. There's different types of
- 31:57Speaker 2: five-step drops according to the route concepts, according to the depth.
- 32:01Speaker 2: That's why it's important that receivers get the correct depth.
- 32:04Speaker 2: If it's supposed to be a seven-step route, go seven steps.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Because if you go five or nine... the timing doesn't
- 32:11Speaker 2: match with the drop. And so his drop is not
- 32:15Speaker 2: matching the route concepts. And yeah, there's a lot of
- 32:18Speaker 2: play action and I get it. There's this like sexy
- 32:20Speaker 2: trend of quarterbacks, like doing a little shuffle drop and
- 32:24Speaker 2: like sitting on a platform. Yeah. But there's a couple
- 32:27Speaker 2: of guys in the world that do that. Well, Tom
- 32:30Speaker 2: Brady was one. You're not Tom Brady. Like there's other
- 32:33Speaker 2: quarterbacks that train that there's quarterback gurus out there that
- 32:36Speaker 2: train the slide shuffle, sit on a platform and, And
- 32:40Speaker 2: that's all well and good if you're going to, like,
- 32:42Speaker 2: Elite 11s and training to, like, look good in workouts.
- 32:48Speaker 2: But it's not– it just doesn't work that well in
- 32:52Speaker 2: a system. You still– even if you're in, like, a shuffle, slide,
- 32:56Speaker 2: drop back, sit on a platform and wait for somebody
- 32:59Speaker 2: to get open, like, you still have to have the timing,
- 33:02Speaker 2: the cadence in your mind with how you're– I mean,
- 33:05Speaker 2: you're not just standing still. Like, you're standing and you're
- 33:08Speaker 2: hitching a little bit. and getting in, keeping your feet moving.
- 33:11Speaker 2: And you still have to, he doesn't have that cadence
- 33:13Speaker 2: for the offense yet. And the best way to give
- 33:17Speaker 2: a quarterback cadence is to give them very specific dropbacks
- 33:20Speaker 2: to do in every single route concept. So I don't
- 33:24Speaker 2: know what it is. If it's just maybe they're doing
- 33:26Speaker 2: that and then he just kind of like gets super
- 33:28Speaker 2: hyper during the game. I don't know, but it's, it's
- 33:32Speaker 2: whatever it is. They got to get it fixed because
- 33:33Speaker 2: if they get it fixed, he can be deadly. He
- 33:35Speaker 2: can be absolutely deadly, but it has to get fixed.
- 33:37Speaker 2: It's easier said than done. All right.
- 33:40Speaker 6: Why did the defense stop blitzing when we tied the
- 33:43Speaker 6: game up?
- 33:46Speaker 2: I mean, there was a lot of simulated pressures, too.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 33:50Speaker 3: You might see somebody like a linebacker come and call
- 33:52Speaker 3: it a blitz when they really ended up just still
- 33:55Speaker 3: being four. They were still bringing that. I guess I'd
- 34:03Speaker 3: have to specifically know where you wanted the pressure to
- 34:06Speaker 3: come from. There was a couple of times, there was
- 34:08Speaker 3: only like one time where I was like, ah, they
- 34:11Speaker 3: need to bring somebody on that one for sure. But
- 34:14Speaker 3: they were doing a lot of, they had the edge
- 34:18Speaker 3: defender dropping the coverage and what weeks would wrap around.
- 34:20Speaker 3: And so still just bringing four, a lot of simulated pressures,
- 34:25Speaker 3: at least as I remember in the second half.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't exactly. I mean, I don't remember sitting
- 34:30Speaker 2: there watching, thinking that, oh, we should bring it. I
- 34:33Speaker 2: think like, bring somebody so often it probably looks a
- 34:36Speaker 2: little strange when nobody does come when it's just like
- 34:39Speaker 2: the front four four russian i think that probably sticks
- 34:41Speaker 2: out but i don't know um i'll get back to
- 34:43Speaker 2: you on that after i watch everything the first.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Half maybe a few times they're a little too conservative
- 34:49Speaker 4: which i mean obviously they played better in the second
- 34:50Speaker 4: half i mean that's it's kind of an obvious statement
- 34:52Speaker 4: but i mean dude in the past we talked about
- 34:55Speaker 4: levitt i mean baker against a running quarterback he's a
- 34:57Speaker 4: little too aggressive like i thought he dialed it up pretty.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Well my second i mean there's Yeah, you can't complain
- 35:04Speaker 2: with the output you had in the second half. I mean, look,
- 35:08Speaker 2: LSU fought back. They fought hard. And that team's got
- 35:11Speaker 2: the right makeup, the right attitude, the right mindset. They're
- 35:16Speaker 2: coached well. The second half, the defense gave up one score.
- 35:20Speaker 2: They made the adjustments.
- 35:22Speaker 5: I mean, you had 17 unanswered.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:25Speaker 3: In the first half, there's some things that we'll look at.
- 35:28Speaker 3: And when we do our film review tomorrow, we'll point
- 35:30Speaker 3: it out. No doubt about it. No question about it.
- 35:33Speaker 3: But in the second half, you tighten the screws on
- 35:36Speaker 3: a good offense. You fail one drive short.
- 35:40Speaker 2: And again, I think LSU from top to bottom is
- 35:44Speaker 2: 100% the better team, the more talent, the better coaches.
- 35:52Speaker 2: And everyone's going, oh, they lost, blah, blah, blah. You
- 35:56Speaker 2: lost to a really good team. You lost to a
- 35:58Speaker 2: good quarterback in a crazy atmosphere in the third game
- 36:01Speaker 2: under a coach's tenure. It didn't go your way. I'd
- 36:07Speaker 2: like to play them again.
- 36:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I think credit where credit's due. Trinidad had an awesome game.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I thought Pete Golding had a good game plan, certainly early.
- 36:16Speaker 3: I thought it was that part of it. You could
- 36:19Speaker 3: tip your cap to him. I'd love another crack at him.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I'd love another crack at him.
- 36:24Speaker 5: They ain't going to beat me twice.
- 36:25Speaker 2: It could be the SEC championship game. That'd be a
- 36:28Speaker 2: lot of– It'd be their first time.
- 36:31Speaker 6: Oh.
- 36:32Speaker 2: It'd go on their stadium for sure. No matter the outcome.
- 36:35Speaker 5: They're probably going to put Texas.
- 36:38Speaker 6: A & M put the final scores on the Cubs
- 36:40Speaker 6: when they play LSU. Ole Miss is going to put
- 36:42Speaker 6: that up in the record.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Jake, when you sent us the video pregame, I was like,
- 36:46Speaker 4: we can't lose to these guys.
- 36:48Speaker 2: They got the college football playoff in their stadium. We did.
- 36:52Speaker 2: All right, next text.
- 36:53Speaker 6: What do y'all think of LSU only dropping three spots
- 36:56Speaker 6: in the polls to number 10? It was a respected
- 36:58Speaker 6: loss in the rankings' eyes, it seems like. And I
- 37:00Speaker 6: feel like, real quick, like, If you take away all
- 37:03Speaker 6: the narratives going into the game, like obviously Pete Golding
- 37:08Speaker 6: versus Lane Kiffin, he left, blah, blah, blah. And you
- 37:10Speaker 6: just look at it from like it was a road
- 37:13Speaker 6: game in the SEC against a top 10 team in
- 37:17Speaker 6: the country.
- 37:17Speaker 5: I mean, I'm not.
- 37:19Speaker 6: Saying I love a loss, but I can look at
- 37:21Speaker 6: it as like a quote unquote respected loss, too.
- 37:23Speaker 5: I mean, against the best quarterback in the country.
- 37:27Speaker 3: I thought they'd go to like 12. I didn't think
- 37:29Speaker 3: there would be a huge fall by any means.
- 37:31Speaker 4: You lost to the number eight team on the road
- 37:33Speaker 4: by a touchdown.
- 37:35Speaker 3: I think I saw some analytics, and I hate not
- 37:38Speaker 3: to give it credit where I saw it, but they
- 37:41Speaker 3: put together every national college football media member of who
- 37:44Speaker 3: was picking this game, and I think it ended up
- 37:46Speaker 3: being like 71% Ole Miss as far as who people
- 37:54Speaker 3: that cover this every single day And so maybe there's
- 37:57Speaker 3: some of that.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Maybe, I don't know.
- 38:00Speaker 3: LSU was a favorite in Vegas, so it's hard to say.
- 38:03Speaker 3: But the people, a lot of people I trust with
- 38:05Speaker 3: their football eyes, they actually picked Ole Miss. Game day,
- 38:08Speaker 3: Coach Saban was the only one that picked LSU.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Did you calculate Hunt in that? That, it's Hunt's fault. Hunt?
- 38:17Speaker 5: It is Hunt's fault.
- 38:18Speaker 6: I agree.
- 38:18Speaker 5: Hunt told me.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Emotional hedge, Hunt Palmer. Emotional hedge. Yeah. He had to
- 38:25Speaker 2: do the show at Cushata.
- 38:26Speaker 4: He told me, he's like, yeah, while we're there, I'm
- 38:29Speaker 4: probably going to sprinkle some money on Ole Miss to win.
- 38:31Speaker 4: That way, if I wake up in the morning, like
- 38:33Speaker 4: at least I won money. And then if not, unless
- 38:34Speaker 4: you won, I'm happy either way. I've heard of that strategy.
- 38:38Speaker 2: It's got an emotional hedge.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 6: The group chat was in shambles Saturday night that we
- 38:44Speaker 6: glossed over the, I sent y'all that hunt, sent me
- 38:47Speaker 6: a picture of Big Fave with the cheesecake.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Wait, I missed that.
- 38:53Speaker 5: I was like, no, because we were in shambles. The
- 38:56Speaker 5: group chat was active. I was like, is that number
- 39:01Speaker 5: one or his second one?
- 39:03Speaker 2: He looked so happy. He seemed happy, yeah.
- 39:05Speaker 5: I mean, that cheesecake looked good.
- 39:06Speaker 2: He looked so happy. I missed that one. Good for him.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I hate that I missed that one.
- 39:10Speaker 3: I think the only pig I got wrong this weekend
- 39:15Speaker 3: on our little station stuff.
- 39:16Speaker 2: We do is.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Ours.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Still mad at you, Hunt. I think I got.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Every other one right.
- 39:21Speaker 2: It's Hunt's fault. How'd the pontoon parlay go? Three and one.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Which one lost?
- 39:25Speaker 5: North Carolina. North Carolina lost by eight.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Why are you laughing? Oh, what was the spread? Three.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Three.
- 39:31Speaker 2: They were up.
- 39:32Speaker 5: They were up.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Matt got it at plus three. So he just, Clemson
- 39:36Speaker 2: came back in the end.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Okay, I was with you. I was going to go
- 39:38Speaker 5: money line.
- 39:39Speaker 2: It's you? You lost the pontoon parlay? I did. I
- 39:42Speaker 2: lost the pontoon parlay. No, not me. It's Bill Belichick.
- 39:45Speaker 2: It's man boobs.
- 39:46Speaker 5: It's double Ds.
- 39:47Speaker 2: He didn't have the chest. I went Mississippi State. One
- 39:50Speaker 2: of y'all went West Virginia. No, I went Virginia Tech.
- 39:55Speaker 2: That's what it was. And they won by like 15
- 39:56Speaker 2: or something. Yeah. And then Alondra, you went with?
- 39:59Speaker 5: Houston plus six and a half.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a good game. Yeah, it was.
- 40:02Speaker 3: It was fun to watch on Friday.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I thought North Carolina had it wrapped. God, the only
- 40:07Speaker 2: game I lost was weekend.
- 40:08Speaker 5: They were leading.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Stupid game.
- 40:10Speaker 6: Yeah. God.
- 40:10Speaker 2: All right, anyways. Let's take a break. More OTV when
- 40:16Speaker 2: we come back.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 40:18Speaker 2: What was it again?
- 40:20Speaker 5: F-A-B-T.

- 40:29Speaker 3: don't stay in the game for over 100 years unless
- 40:31Speaker 3: you're doing things the right way.
- 40:32Speaker 2: If you're treating people the right way.
- 40:34Speaker 3: If you are having a relationship with them, not just
- 40:37Speaker 3: treating them like an account number, but a name and
- 40:40Speaker 3: a face and a relationship, that's what you get at
- 40:42Speaker 3: First American Bank and Trust. You can go to their website.
- 40:44Speaker 3: You can create your account online. Online banking, all the bells,

- 41:00Speaker 2: Bank and Trust, they are the best at everything. We're
- 41:03Speaker 2: talking about online banking. A lot of times people are like,
- 41:05Speaker 2: I don't want to go with a local bank because
- 41:07Speaker 2: of the online portion. Well, they got all the bells
- 41:10Speaker 2: and whistles that you can do at one of those
- 41:12Speaker 2: national banks. right here in Louisiana. So go check them out.

- 41:18Speaker 2: help you, whether it's bank accounts, loans, whatever it is.

- 41:39Speaker 1: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 41:50Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in.
- 41:59Speaker 3: OTB here live from the Raising Cane Studio. Monday show
- 42:02Speaker 3: is brought to you by Bayou Automotive.
- 42:05Speaker 2: And what are you doing over there, man? You got
- 42:07Speaker 2: a little hit in your face. What are you doing?
- 42:09Speaker 2: Are you okay, bud? Oh, yeah, just watching film. I
- 42:12Speaker 2: always watch film when I'm happy. All right, Alondra, do
- 42:17Speaker 2: we have any more questions? Any more texts?
- 42:19Speaker 5: Oh, boy, do we. There's so many texts.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Active text line?
- 42:23Speaker 5: We could probably do a whole show on the text line. Okay,
- 42:27Speaker 5: let's see. I'll just go from the most recent one.
- 42:30Speaker 5: Defense played. Wait, hold on.
- 42:32Speaker 2: He had two.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Morning, guys. I was at the game and kind of
- 42:35Speaker 5: echoing what Jake said. I've been to that stadium a
- 42:37Speaker 5: bunch of times. Oh, okay. He's saying about it being
- 42:39Speaker 5: the best that they have been. Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 2: They showed up.
- 42:43Speaker 5: I felt like.
- 42:44Speaker 6: When LSU started fighting back, they kind of took the
- 42:47Speaker 6: crowd out until the last drive.
- 42:48Speaker 5: They were saying that on the broadcast.
- 42:49Speaker 2: They did.
- 42:50Speaker 6: I felt it was pretty obvious on third downs the
- 42:52Speaker 6: LSU defense played too soft in coverage. They kept letting
- 42:55Speaker 6: Shambliss hit the 5'8 yard hitch every time they needed something.
- 42:58Speaker 5: It was really frustrating to watch.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Were you surprised by that? Yeah, I mean, I'm always surprised.
- 43:07Speaker 2: It's always frustrating when that happens. Obviously, there's reasons why
- 43:09Speaker 2: you do that as a defensive coordinator, but Yeah, especially
- 43:13Speaker 2: once they start doing it a couple times. I'm sure
- 43:16Speaker 2: on both sides of the ball, the coordinators want to
- 43:18Speaker 2: have some calls back, certainly. It's like that every time. Yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 2: was I surprised by it? Yeah, but at the time,
- 43:27Speaker 2: I really didn't think about it because Trinidad was on
- 43:29Speaker 2: such a heater, I guess. He was seeing it all.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Well, when you play a quarterback like that, what is
- 43:35Speaker 3: typically the thing that, as a defensive coordinator, you try
- 43:38Speaker 3: to go to?
- 43:39Speaker 2: Do you try to be more aggressive? Do you try
- 43:41Speaker 2: to figure it out? Do you try to allow the
- 43:43Speaker 2: rush to get there? I think you try both things.
- 43:47Speaker 2: And certainly in the second half, it was obviously way
- 43:50Speaker 2: better than it was in the first half. Now, I
- 43:53Speaker 2: think you start out being aggressive, and that's Blake Baker's
- 43:56Speaker 2: tendency always is to be aggressive. It seems like he's
- 43:58Speaker 2: always simulating something or bringing something. Yeah, you've got to
- 44:01Speaker 2: be aggressive, and if they make you pay for that,
- 44:04Speaker 2: then you kind of back off a little bit and
- 44:06Speaker 2: pick your times, pick your spots, but Yeah, I mean,
- 44:10Speaker 2: sometimes you call those different zones because you're thinking they're
- 44:13Speaker 2: going to run a certain play, but then they run
- 44:15Speaker 2: three-step timing drops and you can take hitches and RPOs
- 44:19Speaker 2: and stuff. Yeah, I think both coordinators probably want a
- 44:23Speaker 2: couple calls back, just like every single game.
- 44:25Speaker 5: Okay, we'll get one more in.
- 44:27Speaker 6: What is the likelihood that Levitt can make the improvements
- 44:30Speaker 6: to his passing game at this point in the season?
- 44:32Speaker 6: Not seeing open receivers so often is a huge concern.
- 44:36Speaker 2: It's a footwork. It's footwork. And can you improve that?
- 44:40Speaker 2: I'd rather it be footwork than just be that he's bad.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 2: You know?
- 44:44Speaker 5: You just can't throw.
- 44:45Speaker 2: You can fix the footwork. Now, how fast can you
- 44:47Speaker 2: fix it? It's on him. I mean, it's on the
- 44:49Speaker 2: coaches for sure, but it's on him. We just told
- 44:51Speaker 2: you about how Jaden Daniels seemingly made a change. It
- 44:54Speaker 2: seemed like in one week became a quarterback that was
- 44:58Speaker 2: really athletic but struggling to one of the best quarterbacks
- 45:02Speaker 2: in the country and then eventually the best quarterback. So
- 45:05Speaker 2: we've seen it happen, and we've seen it happen here
- 45:08Speaker 2: with that uniform on. So hopefully we'll see it again. Yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 2: I think.
- 45:16Speaker 3: In any big game this year, it's going to be
- 45:20Speaker 3: crucial for him to do the things that we're talking about.
- 45:24Speaker 3: He's the quarterback, so it's the obvious statement. But this
- 45:27Speaker 3: offense and what it wants to do, what it wants
- 45:29Speaker 3: to be, you're going to have to start making some
- 45:31Speaker 3: of those where you have open receivers.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Yeah, those coaches are not harping on him footwork, footwork, footwork,
- 45:36Speaker 2: and drilling him footwork every single day. Put him in
- 45:39Speaker 2: that virtual reality. If they're not doing those things, they're
- 45:42Speaker 2: not doing it right. All right, we will take a break.
- 45:45Speaker 2: We've got much more still coming your way. Stay locked
- 45:47Speaker 2: in here with us. It is OTB Live from the
- 45:49Speaker 2: Raising Cane Studio.
