- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're on.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: This is three-way PCCFB, I'm afraid, or I tag a cowcrab.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's locked on dolphins is here with me, as he is.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Every week, and of course, my partner on the three-yard security podcast, Simon Clancy, is here with me.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: How are you guys?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was a pretty good week, too, in college football.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, first of all, first of all, your thoughts, Simon, on what we saw last because I thought it was a lot of fun.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: I was in a tailgate at FIU Buffalo.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, don't know why yeah, I was at FIU Buffalo that that's what I was doing and I was on an on my iPad watching all the games and I was thoroughly entertained by the football on Saturday.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll just start right there just overall what you saw last week that you kind of enjoyed.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the thing that stood out was that the Ohio State Texas game is kind of obvious but
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, there was clearly very good place calling signature.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: I asked me if I kind of felt like commanding and saying didn't perhaps play up to the levels that you hoped that they would and I think it speaks to something that might get to today might get to a later weeks that Nobody's really emerging from the quarterback pack in terms of like, you know, you're looking at and we've picked up this class for a couple of years and
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: Most impressive guy for me this year has been Austin Simmons of Missouri, I mean, like, this is awesome.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we're touched on that in completion, you know?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Mentors, yeah, I want to see him play somebody.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about Mentors that concerns me a little bit is just a lack of RPMs of the, you know, on his, some of his deeper balls.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: Where a Simmons has just got an absolute cannon for an arm and can,
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: you know, the velocity that he generates is superb.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, there was just everything that you love about Polish football really in that game and in Austin, the kind of the atmosphere and the kind of ESPN, even in game and just, you know, big plays by a big place, Smith-Lich and Grano here, the kind of the, you'd love for him to have made that sort of diving catch down at the goal line, just where he was kind of outleveraged the defensive back and just wasn't able to haul it in, but some of the catches he made were,
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're great and yeah, I just thought it was a good week and college football couple of it like I was looking at a group of six tight-end last night and I could hunt the hunt to tipton and Memphis you had 229, I was like yards were seabed against boysystake and five yards short of breaking the record by a tight end in FPS history and single game record.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah some players could play is it yeah but the standout for me was was that was that game
- 3:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sitting here holding my breath begging and praying that Simon doesn't take my talking point Which was I was one week off on the top 10 upset with Oregon going down the Oklahoma state and Oklahoma state look
- 3:17[SPEAKER_03]: dead in the water against Tulsa the week prior, right?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_03]: There's an old true mess to make.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_03]: Not ready for the big time.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_03]: No power force.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_03]: And he goes, we're, we're like, no, Oregon.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_03]: We run for 109 yards with a 75 yard rip and some tremendous throws some bad luck on both of his turnovers that he had as far as interceptions, one of which was ran back in the red zone for a touchdown.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: The owner was a ball bad at up in the air and ran back inside the five yard line by Mateo Uyongale.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_03]: Oklahoma State, they got some really physical guys up front.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think on both sides of the ball and I think Oregon was kind of MIA in that capacity and obviously we alluded to the quarterback class and Dante more obviously being one of those names who started slow against Boise and then kind of flipped the switch and
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: I guess turned it on again in the second half, but this whole conversation about this quarterback class and Dante more two weeks running is the guy that was supposed to kind of come back and leverage what was a perceived first round grade last year into a big leap.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know that we've seen a big leap and I don't know how much of it is his fault, but when you start having the conversation about projecting a guy to the next level,
- 4:30[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the skills group's not as good, the offensive line's not as good.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, what do you have to be a trailer or a truck, not a trailer, right?
- 4:39[SPEAKER_03]: So that whole game, that whole storyline, Oregon going down, Mr. Maker bouncing back the way that he did.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_03]: Why it young being his like, go to guy that he can trust and feed the football to.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: I thought that was such a great game that really embodied like the chaos of college football.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_03]: And Texas is being like royalty bluebloods going at it.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Can we just have a word with Evan Jackson, the Oregon linebacker who has the best first core plays you're ever going to see the first one was literally like a minute into the game where Mr make it just sets off on that run and he's, this was decaming for those people that didn't see it, this was decaming a cough check, chasing down through the bank line.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean he's at 22.9 miles an hour.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think Bruce Feldman had in an 11th on the Freaks list and said he was 24 miles an hour this summer which is insane for a guy that's six foot three, two hundred and forty pounds.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's a state hundred meter, two hundred meter champion.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's got ten fifty four.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think I saw this one in ten fifty two hundred meter personal best.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: which is just insane.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he had, like, to make out seven yards of a head start on him, and he had to turn round and chase, and he was just running past corners, running past safety, managed to get to him, pushed him out the floor, and then as Carla alluded to with the tips pick, which he kind of beat about three players, got to the sideline, and then absolutely just turned on the jets and was just running away from receivers to score.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: That was a two very impressive place by the red jersey.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my three as it's going to be customary Iowa State Iowa to make me go to an all my bookie picks.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: There were no sacks in the game.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: Time possession was completely even.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: There was only 10 penalties.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was just good old fashioned under 600 yards of total offense, good old fashioned constipated offense by those two teams for like what seems like the thousandth year.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: he could be a bit of a slot receiver, not the finished article, but twitchy and kind of ease of movement, change of direction and ability from the slots.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I was the last time I took by Iowa having a receiver that could pretty much over the last decade.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: There's been a couple, but yeah, that was a surprise.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my second, of course, was Drew Mr. Maker.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he played much better than his, than his bot, bot scores, suggest, again, 190 yards rushing.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: Some of those throws were just sublime.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: And coming out of that game, also, we learned that Dante Moore has a severe run pass tell.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: that they're talking about this morning on ESPN because I guess some enterprise in fan came out and posted video of every time that there was a run, his stagger was even and every time was a pass, it was uneven.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: And then then landing basically said, yeah, that's an issue we got to fix.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: we didn't even know.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: So, my best thing I saw last week, of course, was Texas coming back, archmanning from the dead.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: We were, I think Chris Kaufman said a best on our discord where, where he was saying like, we always moved from, oh, we even sure this guy's even an NFL prospect to, oh my god, look at this.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, like if you take the last six minutes of that game,
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: And that's all you watched, you were like, oh, Archmany was awesome in this game.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: No, he was actually pretty awful, but man, what a finish to that game, so good on him.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: What are you watching this week Simon because there's a couple of tasty matchups in here.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'll go first.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: I guess SMU Louisville.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think Louisville is really really good.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: And there are minus one and a half point favorite.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: There are one and a half point favorite.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess they're going to be my pick this week.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're going to be SMU.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're better.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're a really good team.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: Of course,
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: but I'll give you another one, F.S.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: U.L.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: Obama.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think F.S.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: U.S. has the better quarterback in that game, in Ashden, Daniels.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm interested to see a rest of F.S.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: U. you can duplicate what they did last year to Alabama.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the things I'm watching this week.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: What are you watching, Simon?
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I will get to the second half, the biggest game I think is in Oxford on Saturday night.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really excited about.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really excited about the Lane Kiffin Bowl as we talked about.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's going to be really good.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking at it.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: I just brought up the schedule.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking at it thinking this is definitely not who my army of playing this week.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I realised it's the 2025 schedule, which was helpful.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: SMU, Louisville, like you say, I thought Louisville played really well against Old Miss in that first game.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of players that really stood out for me last week.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: I have a way from things.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: And that's,
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's when the Gregory of Kansas State, an end Russia, registered sophomore, and a safety cow, and we've talked about JKS, but Kingston Loper, the safety at cow, had three picks again, Syracuse, but actually none of them were the most impressive plays.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's six or five, ten pounds, he's a transfer from Oregon, and he just reminds you of a young car hammerton, so I'm really excited.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: towards him this week, a bit more having just really having flash across the screen yesterday.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Last week, and then same with Gregory and K-State, but for me it's that Saturday night game down in Knoxwood.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: That to me is kind of, this so much on that in terms of just the
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: the whole Kiffin thing, and you talked about, I think, off air before we started out about the kind of security details that's going to have to be on hand.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: For that one, that is, um, yeah, I wouldn't want to be running security for that game.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: But why are there so many games on a Sunday, by the way, these days?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's about 60 games on Sunday.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand what they're doing in college football, putting games, my problem is the Friday.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: Friday is supposed to be for college, I mean for high school football, especially here in Florida and in Texas, but Florida since Florida won the, and we didn't talk about this last week and we should have Florida won the Texas Miami, the Texas, it should be Miami, but Texas Florida challenge.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't I don't I don't I don't like it.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's I don't think it's right.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: Friday should belong to high school football and putting all these college games on Friday.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's I think it's fine.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's fine.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's fine.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: I actually Steven Jelly against Mason Hightshaw and Syracuse against Peter.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, two unranked teams, but you know, I want to see Hightshaw and and C. Harry.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: continues to develop and, you know, and it's nice as well to see a bit more of kind of into confiscate your Georgia Arkansas as well.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: On Saturday afternoon, which should be a Saturday August time, which should be a decent game.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, but all roads point to what's with it.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Kyle, take us to break with what you're watching.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe we didn't get any love for the cockfight between the chant declears and the the blue hands the 1130 kick on Saturday I think you guys hit most of the the big games.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think Houston Texas tech on Friday night has a chance to be a pretty entertaining game Obviously those are those are two ranked teams getting a chance.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_03]: We don't get a lot of ranked matchups
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think Kansas versus Arizona State on FS1 and the noon block is another game that I will be prioritizing.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: I'll probably have a second screen behind Georgia Arkansas, which will probably be my big screen on that first block of games.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: Arizona State obviously had the the lost last week to Texas A&M at Kyle Field, but you know, Kenny Dillinghams got that program roll a little bit and read Harris.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think Si, you just shouted him out a little bit.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_03]: If I remember correctly, he's had a stellar start to the season for Arizona State.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_03]: So a chance to get him closer eyes on him, something I'm looking forward to early too.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you've seen him out, but Harris, like, six, five, 220, doesn't look like he's running at all.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then you look him up, form a state champion in 100 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters personal best of 1080, which for a man of his size and proportions is insane.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's average in 21.7 yards, a catch this season.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: 20.6 yards per catch for his career.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I know he got this year of 13.2.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: This, I mean, this dude was just running away from Texas.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Texas Southern or your mother's Texas, this was Texas A&M and they got some good players and defense and he was just no career drops, strong at a catch point, I'm not very excited to watch him as well again.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_03]: very briefly give me a number can you add a jackson he's a day to pick or is he now going to be a first rounder is that for me it for time for you Simon I mean the hour setting point upwards called you say it this point yeah I thought he played really well I guess access I I identively say top 50 right now is kind of where like I would guess if we stay on the trajectory on I think that's a floor I'm comfortable
- 13:54[SPEAKER_03]: very easily could go higher because the length is off the charts and and he looks fuller this year to I think he looks like he's his frames a little bit more filled out which is a good development for him.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen the Michigan kid car?
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, don't have a idea that the kid on the other side of gum.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_03]: Not not closely.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_03]: I was watching daily pretty closely in the Oklahoma State game and and I know he had a very productive day but another toolsie.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_03]: What was your big guy on the other side?
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like a player.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just the gas of the ball, it's the physicality of the hands and that.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's the counters.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's just got a lot going for him.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we've got a break.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: But first, let me tell you about my bookie, football season is here.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: And Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Fridays.

- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: But if you're just betting the spread before kick off your doing it wrong, you'll even most of the game on the table, and that's why I use my bookie.

- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: And we're back.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's the link if and bull.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, man, it's just going wire to wire with this thing.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: Just your overview on this, because I have some thoughts on the game.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's important for a couple of players, namely look for earlier.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's really, really good, by the way.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: games on his shoulders.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_02]: If Sam Levitt's going to be running around like a maniac, like he usually does, games going to be on on the mic, look for Ali for Ole Miss.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: But you're overview of this game and everything that comes with it, Simon, other recruiting, what Lane Kippen tried to do.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: because ESPN is digging all of that up right now.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're a link if, and essentially try to destroy that program.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: He just tried to take every single coach before they played their semi-final.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then try to undo 30 recruitment to take them to LSU.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: So essentially, he was going to do, uh, Cracks and Nettie did to destroy James Madison.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: He was going to do it to destroy Ole Miss.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: So just your thoughts overall on this matchup and all the drama attached to it.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, look, I-I-I-I-I.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: they're searching for a new James Bond and I don't have to look too hard for a new James Bond villain if they wanted one because there's so much about Kiffin that is villainous.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you've seen that documentary as it called the lives of Lane Kiffin or the faces of Lane Kiffin or whatever it is, the ESPN made it and it's essentially just a kind of
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: look a litany of like two decades of utter chaos, switch jobs, heavy drinking, constant trolling, pushing students, sleeping around, rakeish behaviour, that sort of...
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: shitty is green that he's got that kind of superiority nonsense.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just stuff that we took about the first stuff and stuff that you just love about college football.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think it would be boring if everybody was you know boring and like Martin Orville.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: You need a few lane kiffins, I think, to kind of sexy things up.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is the guy that comes out and says, I didn't know, I didn't know I needed old Miss more than he, old Miss needed me.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: And then he kind of goes back and it was like, no, maybe they needed me more than I needed them.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, it's just gray,
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knows Lane Kiffin as well as peak Golding does and the flip side of that is nobody knows peak Golding team like Lane Kiffin does and all that kind of stuff that ESPN and everybody else and McAfee and what I will talk about I'm game day leaving up to the game will stop as one once it starts.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: It will come down to the exes of the nose and ultimately the players on the field and I think for LSU to win and they were hugely impressive against Clemson.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know how much of the Sam Levitt experience she managed to watch against Louisiana Tech at the weekend.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: But that was ugly.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: He had three picks.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: Two in the red zone.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: One was returned to 100 yards for a touchdown.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: All the intersections of bad throwers was one very specifically to trade this green, where he kind of issued a little sort of jet sweep action.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: He issued a sort of scene ball to Philip Green, who has wide open up the scene, and he moved the safety with his eyes.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then just inexplicably, overthrew on a kind of overrun to coverage.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: overthrew Green, it was picked off on the sideline.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: The other two picks were pretty ugly throwing into tight wind.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: Those that weren't really there staring down his guy.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: Brains for Hoco called him, John Meteer with better PR, which I thought was pretty apt, actually.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: And to me, the issue has always been the ability to say pure pocket parcel, right?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can keep and contain on the ground, then it becomes much more of an adventure.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what Goldingwood will try and do this weekend.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if Trinidad and Chambers plays to the level that we know he can, I think he's going to make it very difficult for
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: for LSU, but I think it will be a terrific game and I genuinely can't wait for it's going to be an absolute bomb.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: Kyle, I assume you're going to stay on this game too.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'll stay on this game and it's personal for a lot of folks on the Ole Miss side of things, right?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_03]: And it should be, and I think that they come in and play with that edge and
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: It is the assignment talking about Sam Levitt, it's that astronaut mean where the astronauts looking at the earth and then the other ones behind them with the gun and he's like, it always has been.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, oh, Sam Levitt's chaos merchant always has been right and just
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: It was what a great magical run they had at Arizona State when he could throw to Jordan Tyson and just fill the bucket up with throws to Tyson and Tyson make some right all the time, but I look at the quarterback advantage and usually the quarterback advantage gives you a pretty good feel.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this is at home with a quarterback advantage with a chip on their shoulder because Lane tried to burn the thing to the ground while they were in the college football playoff.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like,
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: I lanes going to have to pull off one of the better coaching jobs of his career in my opinion for them to pull this through and the players have to rise to the occasion.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_03]: I just think Ole Miss and Pete Golding is going to have them.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_03]: rare and to go.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think it will be very dramatic television for the game.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_03]: You can miss me with the drama before the game and all the nonsense that that will come beforehand in the pre game shows and all that kind of stuff.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: But this is uh there's bad blood here and that that usually has the makings of good rivalry games and college football.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that car that the kiffin is the most hated person in
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: college football.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: If Brendan Source B wasn't playing this here, I think you'd have an interesting case for somebody else, but yes, I think with Lane and the stops that he's been and pretty much how quickly we've gone into business for ourselves to make transitions time and time again.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a pretty safe that because he wears it like he he leans into it and I think that's like okay that gives you like a fun Persona and energy for recruiting and and people want to come and be a part of that swagger that exists there but that swagger Works when you're winning and you better not hit a bump in the road because then that that kind of thing will get pretty old pretty quick
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: I read a piece in the athletic a couple of days ago, I was just looking out and I was talking there, we'll eat for a piece that said, Lankyf and is the sort of guy that divorces his spouse and tells them, as they leap in front of you, they shouldn't be sad.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're actually lucky to have been married to you in the first place.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: Lucky to have been married to someone as charming as attractive as you in the first place.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: And at some day they'll look back and they'll even thank you.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can feel it, yeah.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: So Simon, this is an oldie, but goodie.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a thousand years.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: I looked it up from when the time that this happened, but I really put some perspective.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: Do you remember how David's his power point presentation on why Lane Kiffin was an asshole?
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I'd love to say it.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know, remember, it was when he fired like Kiffin and he called the press conference and he started playing slides and everybody was like, man, the old man has lost his mind here and he's essentially saying he's just ahead of his time, it's yeah, he's just way ahead of his time, but I remember that clearly because it was bizarre.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: because the man called a press conference to explain why he fired Lane Kiffin and his main reasoning was that Lane Kiffin was, not a good person.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and that was 30 years ago.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a book apparently that just kind of would lane being lane, which is a lot of interviews with people that know him associates and a very brief one with Kiffin himself and apparently and I'm paraphrasing from this athletic article that it comes across a apparently that Kiffin is kind of chronically, like it is socially awkward and more than little bit weird around other human beings, which doesn't seem to be the case when you see them around.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: kind of co-eds on social, but we'll pass over anyway.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: It says that one friend tells Telti, who's the journalist who wrote it.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: The Kiffin is only a couple of his own scheme when he's coaching game, or when he's trolling people on Twitter.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't like to be around anyone.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: Kiffin, the source said, walks around the world like he's the only one in it.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: In his mind, he's not so much the main character of football as the only character on earth.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Which, kind of, again, is pretty apricy.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's finish up here with one key to the game and your pick for the game.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think Ole Miss is going to win this game.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's this thing is just stacked against Lane Kiffin and if they pull it off, I will be impressed.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: I will be impressed.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: Just like Kyle said, if LSU wins this game and are they the better team?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: Probably, yeah, probably.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: But still, it's, you know, it's on the road at an extremely hostile environment in college football.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's not, it's not the NFL where a home, you know, like Miami Dolphins, are not going to have the, the Kansas City Chiefs over a barrel just because they're home, right?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: So this counts for something, that atmosphere is going to count for something.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: I like Ole Miss to pull the game off.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's going to be important, Blake Purchase got demoted.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he's going to play in this game as the starter, but I'm pretty sure he's going to play plenty.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's those linebackers.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: Just look for Ellie.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's like purchase for Ole Miss.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: They have a very experience secondary, but those two linebackers, their buck and their Mike are going to be extremely important because if they bottle up Sam Levin, I don't know if they really go for, if they have enough offense to keep up with a Trinidad Champions, if he's hitting on all cylinders, and if Kwan Lake Sea is going, it's just too much.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: So I like Ole Miss to win the game.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: So Sam will give
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the key actually is just the, it's, in part, who controls their emotions better, I think it's going to be a lot of really highly hyped old misplayers who kind of want to put it to a kiffin after what happened.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that controlling the emotions and playing down the hype a bit will be Pete Golding's biggest issue.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think unless you have a lot of great speed, I think you've got to be able to handle Jordan Ross and Boomer Millen off the edge with weeks
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: a dishawn spears, who absolutely love it as a safety for LSU, and I think that Ole Miss is going to have to have improved a lot from that first game against Louisville, because they will, for a year, points that Louisville put up on them.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think the cameras place really well then it will be really close and I think they'll probably will win but I wouldn't count out unless you that offensive leave it goes back to the cleanse of form and if that defense is ticking like we know it can give an email of superstar players they've gone it.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_03]: Kyle, a key in a pick.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm picking Ole Miss to win the game within a touchdown.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think it'll be close.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: It'll probably be one of those, I will say last possession scores and wins it, but I think it will be a one possession game at the end.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a Valice, he's gonna win Prince Will, Ooming Meal, and he's gonna have to have a really big game.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, as familiarity with,
- 27:13[SPEAKER_03]: playing it Ole Miss last year at LSU has five sacks already this season has been very disruptive, but I think with the quarterback dynamic, I think Chameless has a chance to play a really consistent game unless you heat them up and you force them into bad decisions and you have to force his hand because if he can get in a rhythm then I feel like that's where that offense
- 27:43[SPEAKER_03]: will hum at its best.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_03]: So does Lane know enough about the players that he coach last year that are still there to get the coaching plan and the right place to get them off their game.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_03]: The execution is going to be the thing, but I look at Umen Miel and this somebody that I think has to have a really big game and show up to help force bad decisions for Chambers.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: Who, man, me, Alan, was served court papers this morning related to the Ole Miss lawsuit against him according to court records, Pete The Meals, or Point.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: He was hand in the parking lot outside the LSU football facility.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: Which is kind of quite funny.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_03]: Go ahead and stack another storyline on the game, right?
- 28:22[SPEAKER_03]: No, right?
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: we're going out here and we will join you again next week but I just had to get Simon here on record because there's rumblings that FSU's had enough and that they're scrounging up the $51 million to buy out Mike Norville does it happen Simon because the rumor mill is hot and heavy on this.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I can't, I can't think that he's much longer for this world, especially after his death.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, much longer for this world, much longer for this world, much longer for this child.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, this football world, I mean, also he's kind of key back here.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he'd direct to Michael Orford, which was fired.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, two days ago?
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I do.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I just don't think that I don't think that he's long for this football world in terms of it.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: But look, it's been an ongoing situation with the Nulls in terms of, you know,
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: whether it's really tag-out or, you know, Northern or whatever, it's not just about the coaching situation.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's the fact that they're getting, you know, in the book around the years, you know, Nicky Andrews and Bowden and all those great coaches would be out in, you know, winning battles in in people's living rooms and that just doesn't happen anymore.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I wonder whether or not they can compete in the entire space like a lot of the other things.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: do.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if they can't, then I think that the FSU just becomes a fragment of what they used to be in its sad, but they end up being in a Brasco or always hunting or one of those teams that you'd love to see back at the top level because of the history of the school, but actually that's just not the case and FSU just unfortunately are not, you know, when you're getting out recruited by
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: and the southern states that surround you are just being dominated by the Alabama's and the Georgia's and the LSU's and the Ole Misses and whatever and then you've got Indiana coming in and taking kids and yet the idea there and that's not a good look for FSU so no I don't think you'll be here much or here there just in Tallahassee much more.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've ever seen really in and this is in the case and they're going to get really serious if they're going to pony up to fifty one million dollars.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a good sign in and of itself that they're going to get that money together to get my global out of here.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's going to be.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: You look at some of the play like the running back reason of coronavirus or whatever.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's clearly players there.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just finding a route to to winning both on the field, but also offer it as the most important.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, that's going to be it.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: And we will talk to you again next week.
