- 1:53Speaker 1: President.
- 1:53Speaker 3: That was pretty fantastic. Not that I want to get
- 1:55Speaker 3: political anything. I thought it was just the way they
- 1:56Speaker 3: did It was an hilarious takedown.

- 2:09Speaker 3: a lot of fun. It's all it needed to be.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It's pretty much the best way to wrap it up.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Happy gil More too understood the assignment and delivered.
- 2:16Speaker 3: It did indeed, So yeah, look out for a happy
- 2:18Speaker 3: girl more to review. But yeah, we're be answering your

- 2:26Speaker 3: have you been.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Up to now? Was your weekend? My weekend was fine,
- 2:29Speaker 1: thank you very much. I spent it with Lovely Louise.
- 2:32Speaker 1: We watch it.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Can I say one thing, Louise, it's your birthday.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Louis, Happy birthday, the Lovely Louise. Yes. Indeed,
- 2:40Speaker 1: it's the happiest day of the year because of the
- 2:43Speaker 1: day that she came into the world. Do you wish
- 2:45Speaker 1: her love and good will?
- 2:47Speaker 3: Wish her present Joey?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yes? And the first kiss from this boy? Yes, just
- 2:51Speaker 1: the kiss from this way. We don't know. Sure? A kiss?
- 2:53Speaker 1: What a song?
- 2:54Speaker 3: It's a shame. It's not a vaible on Disney Plus.
- 2:55Speaker 3: But physical media, everybody start craving Dad is still out there.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Indeed, indeed, and we're going to be talking about favorite
- 3:00Speaker 1: Simpson songs as we delve deep into the mailbad that's
- 3:03Speaker 1: one of the mailbag questions. A little teas But yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 1: but no, I'm doing pretty good. We just had a
- 3:07Speaker 1: nice weekend in watch the cats absolutely decimate the ruse.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It was a decimation. It was an absolute pantsing.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Australian rules football. By the way, you doing to start
- 3:19Speaker 3: off with the question, start us with the question, shall
- 3:20Speaker 3: we Oh.
- 3:20Speaker 1: You don't want to hear about the rest of my weekend?
- 3:22Speaker 1: It was fine. We went out for lunch. Would you
- 3:23Speaker 1: have for lunch? The chicken wings? Not chicken wings, but
- 3:27Speaker 1: there was some delightful chicken with cels of their day.
- 3:29Speaker 1: There was some nice veal Ossobuco. This was a Geelong
- 3:34Speaker 1: place called the wood shed. The woodshed. No, maybe a
- 3:37Speaker 1: woodshed sounds like a place always good. No, No, that's
- 3:39Speaker 1: where it gets sent when you're being punished. Because j
- 3:43Speaker 1: the commentator used to say, take them to the woodshed.
- 3:47Speaker 1: That's where you catch a bit of a whip on
- 3:49Speaker 1: the spanking as whoop. It did not go to the woodshed,
- 3:52Speaker 1: went to the Woolshed instead, very nice place, highly recommend it.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Okay, all right, well let's get into our first question,
- 3:58Speaker 3: shall we. It's been SDCC this week, and the Simpsons
- 4:02Speaker 3: creators and riders have been at the Panels and the
- 4:04Speaker 3: Suspen Shenanigan's galore.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You're just throwing around acronyms left and right. It's d CC,
- 4:10Speaker 1: man stands for what does it stand for? Santo San
- 4:14Speaker 1: Diego Comic Con? It does?
- 4:15Speaker 3: Indeed, Yeah, I saw a clip for mac Granny at
- 4:17Speaker 3: I believe it was SDCC or some comic cond of
- 4:20Speaker 3: some kind of thing was SDCC from nineteen ninety and
- 4:22Speaker 3: it's just hims as somewhat fold out table.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Sure, it's like Marly anyone there was a post when
- 4:28Speaker 1: when do you think it really turned?
- 4:30Speaker 3: Was that Marvels andatic INDIVI MCU yeah, Big Bang Theory,
- 4:33Speaker 3: that kind of thing. Yeah, I think it was MCU.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Big Bank Theory capitalized on that, and it's just it
- 4:38Speaker 3: became okay to be a geek.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Okay, So from mid two thousands onwards two thousand and.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Eight, expense started the trend, I think, yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And Spider Man and all that. But yeah, you've got
- 4:49Speaker 1: two thousand and eight you've got Dark Knight nine man.
- 4:51Speaker 1: So yeah, that's I'd say that's when The Tide was
- 4:54Speaker 1: a tournament because.
- 4:54Speaker 3: When Phantom Menace came out, you were still a lusier
- 4:56Speaker 3: if you were excited for it. You know, it's like
- 4:58Speaker 3: Star Wars, like Star War and then by the time
- 5:01Speaker 3: the third one came out, everyone's like, oh, it's not.
- 5:03Speaker 1: That sounds pretty good. Yes, Musta was not Musda was.
- 5:09Speaker 3: But this first question, this got sent through to mailbag
- 5:12Speaker 3: at four finger discount dot com dot au and the
- 5:15Speaker 3: question is this one's from Travis Henderson to celebrate we're
- 5:20Speaker 3: touching on Happy gil More two before to celebrate the
- 5:22Speaker 3: release of Happy gil Moore to which three Simpsons characters
- 5:25Speaker 3: would you love to play a round of golf with? Okay,
- 5:28Speaker 3: there's two parts of this question.
- 5:29Speaker 1: We'll get to.
- 5:30Speaker 3: That's the first part, which three characters would be fun
- 5:32Speaker 3: to play a game of golf with? So it's gonna
- 5:34Speaker 3: be people that are fun to be with but aren't
- 5:36Speaker 3: going to beat you, right. I feel like Lenny would
- 5:39Speaker 3: be one that you'd want to be there because he's
- 5:40Speaker 3: just Lenny would be supportive.
- 5:42Speaker 1: If you did a bad shit, he'd goes don't worry
- 5:43Speaker 1: about it. But do you want to say your others?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Or shall I go?
- 5:48Speaker 3: Oh? I hadn't thought about So I'm gonna go Lenny,
- 5:50Speaker 3: I think because yeah, as I said, I don't want
- 5:53Speaker 3: to be defeated. I'm not a duff Man. He'd bring
- 5:55Speaker 3: he'd bring the drinks, okadaf Man, Lenny, I'm going all
- 5:58Speaker 3: the bar fly.
- 6:01Speaker 1: A very happy Gilmour approach to golfing. Yeah, I gotta say, yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you're making it a fun round.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yeah. And finally I think of a third one where
- 6:09Speaker 3: you tell me you've clearly got notes.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah. When I say notes, I have three names written. Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'll try to expand on that, but I guess I
- 6:16Speaker 1: was thinking more of like an old school country club
- 6:19Speaker 1: golf kind of round Kent Brockman style. Well, yeah, maybe
- 6:23Speaker 1: i'll cross one of these. Actually, yeah, I'm going to
- 6:25Speaker 1: cross out one of these names. Sorry, doctor Hibbitt, because
- 6:28Speaker 1: doctors and golf seem to go together like peaches and cream.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Like he coaching the.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Team, he's been in several episodes where he was playing golf. Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 3: so that's probably why I was thinking that. Do you
- 6:37Speaker 3: do you know what I what I was saying when
- 6:39Speaker 3: I said, go together like peaches and cream.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Like a coach and a team. I don't have you
- 6:42Speaker 1: ever heard of a television show called perfect match?
- 6:45Speaker 3: I have, yeah, in the Dating show.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, the Dating show. Yeah, they had the theme song
- 6:49Speaker 1: was like like teachers and cream, like a golf and
- 6:52Speaker 1: so and so it's a perfect match. We were all
- 6:54Speaker 1: singing it back and there. I wasn't conceived yet, that's
- 6:59Speaker 1: what doctor Hibbitt. Sorry, you've been scratched from this one. Instead,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with ken Brock, but I think he'd
- 7:05Speaker 1: be fun to sort of do the rams with.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You mock the other golfers who are bad too, and
- 7:10Speaker 3: you have and you.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Do it in newsreader voice. It's just there. There's just there.
- 7:13Speaker 1: This guys suck. I mean it has to touch the ear.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Of course. Now we mentioned the pres and dj T
- 7:21Speaker 1: a little earlier. Who well, yeah, over in Scotland playing
- 7:25Speaker 1: golf and.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I've got to make a meme, say Simpsons predicted it
- 7:27Speaker 3: with Smithers and.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Just vagrantly yes, disregarding the rules of the links. Yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So with that in mind, I think I'd like to
- 7:39Speaker 1: have a round with mister Burns. I think, certainly I
- 7:41Speaker 1: just beat the pants off that dad. But it'll be
- 7:44Speaker 1: interesting to see what kind of shenanigans he would get
- 7:47Speaker 1: up to on the course.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Would you beat the pants off of him knowing?
- 7:52Speaker 1: No, no, no, I'm playing the long game here. And
- 7:54Speaker 1: I don't just mean golf. I mean like financially and
- 7:56Speaker 1: psychologically and all that. It's like I might let this
- 7:59Speaker 1: guy win. Yeah, I'm a suck up from way back. Yeah,
- 8:02Speaker 1: so it's like, good shot, sir.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I feel you're gonna say there's more to it. But
- 8:05Speaker 3: when I say take the pants off him financial games, that's.
- 8:10Speaker 1: The nineteenth hole. And when I say whole, I mean
- 8:13Speaker 1: nineteenth hole. And I know I think Rainy A. Wolf
- 8:16Speaker 1: Castle would be fun to play golf with the feeling
- 8:19Speaker 1: he would be, you know, showing off those guns. But
- 8:21Speaker 1: I don't think he necessarily had the skill. I'd love
- 8:23Speaker 1: to see him throw a tantrum. Yeah, I think you'd
- 8:25Speaker 1: have a power drive, but it'd be his hit to
- 8:27Speaker 1: miss ratio would be like one in four or something like,
- 8:32Speaker 1: and other times he'd be like shank or just miss.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I'm going to pick a scrapper like Willy, who's someone
- 8:37Speaker 3: who can intimidate people who are slow in front of
- 8:38Speaker 3: us and say.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Get out of the way and stand back. Let's let's
- 8:41Speaker 1: go go through. Willy does seem like the Scottish are
- 8:44Speaker 1: very big on golf. Apparently some of the best courses
- 8:46Speaker 1: in the world can be found in Scotland. Okay, like
- 8:49Speaker 1: Glenn Eel's and s Andrew's fantastic places. I've got to
- 8:52Speaker 1: see them. When I was a little fellow and my
- 8:53Speaker 1: folks were big on golf. But I think golf was
- 8:56Speaker 1: also kind of a scrapper's game in a lot of ways.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I mean, you've got yeah, and he said you're happy
- 9:01Speaker 1: Gilmore types he shooters and you got his happies. That's correct.
- 9:04Speaker 1: So yeah, I think Willie would be actually quite appropriate.
- 9:06Speaker 1: He would be someone who's just an old school he's
- 9:10Speaker 1: probably rough rider golfer.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it doesn't take any crap. But yeah, thank
- 9:15Speaker 3: you Travis for that question. Also two parts, so he's
- 9:18Speaker 3: The other part for his question was also why hasn't
- 9:21Speaker 3: Adam Sandler ever appeared on The Simpsons? He seems like
- 9:24Speaker 3: the perfect voice with his Sandler voices, like are you you?
- 9:28Speaker 1: What would I roll?
- 9:29Speaker 3: How could you get Adam Sounder onto the Simpsons if
- 9:31Speaker 3: he was on the Simpsons. What role would he play.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I'm thinking he plays we Always Got the new Kid.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I'm thinking he plays a kid who comes into school,
- 9:38Speaker 3: maybe he gets skipped up or gets kept down, maybe
- 9:41Speaker 3: a kid playing gets kept down from fourth grade or whatever.
- 9:45Speaker 3: And he's funny at them, but he becomes the class
- 9:48Speaker 3: clown and Bart gets annoyed that he's stealing his thunder
- 9:51Speaker 3: not bad.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I kind of liked the idea of him as like
- 9:54Speaker 1: a relative of one of the.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Bullies, okay, or saying, and what happens there, well, you
- 10:00Speaker 3: put him on the spot. I can't see Samla being
- 10:01Speaker 3: a bully.
- 10:03Speaker 1: No, maybe he's like he was a bully, but now
- 10:05Speaker 1: he's reformed, and maybe he's been away a juvie or something,
- 10:10Speaker 1: or even been away at prison or whatever. And he
- 10:11Speaker 1: comes back and he's kind of like doing a bit
- 10:13Speaker 1: of a scared straight on the bullies, like believe me,
- 10:16Speaker 1: you don't want to be behind bus sad voice, yes indeed,
- 10:22Speaker 1: and tries to teach the bullies to tries to steer
- 10:24Speaker 1: them on the right track. But at the same time,
- 10:25Speaker 1: maybe he's got that inner bully still within him that
- 10:27Speaker 1: wants to come to the service. Maybe Bart's will to
- 10:30Speaker 1: see it, wants to make fun of him the whole time,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and by the end the rage Sandler comes out.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I'm thinking of a fun fourth wall breaking gag. Would
- 10:40Speaker 3: be one of the characters mentioned him mayet list It
- 10:42Speaker 3: says Timothy Chalamagne or whatever. Do you know who he is?
- 10:44Speaker 3: And look at the screen. It's like, don't they say it?
- 10:47Speaker 3: Everyone just knows everyone. I think he would be a
- 10:52Speaker 3: fun guest star. I think, Adam sam, why wouldn't you
- 10:54Speaker 3: want to have Sandler in the.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Studio with you? Exactly right?
- 10:56Speaker 3: Yeah, gets Sandler on the Simpsons. Maybe he can even
- 10:58Speaker 3: do a golf parody of some kind. Can you have
- 11:01Speaker 3: a treos of horror themed around golf killing? I know
- 11:05Speaker 3: we'll work it out, but yeah, Adam sound on the
- 11:07Speaker 3: Simpsons would be fun indeed. But I did send you
- 11:10Speaker 3: some news articles, so sure did.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yes. So what's been happening with SDCC they've been I
- 11:15Speaker 1: noticed their panel was very political. Yes, they are anti Trump.
- 11:21Speaker 3: They are to the point where Matt Granning said the
- 11:23Speaker 3: Simpsons will end when Trump dies or something.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I didn't quite get that joke, more like dancing in
- 11:27Speaker 1: the streets thinking or.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Well because because Matt Groening said, honestly thought thirty six
- 11:32Speaker 3: was where we're going to end it, but no, there's
- 11:33Speaker 3: no end in sight. We're going to keep going. We're
- 11:36Speaker 3: going to keep going until somebody dies, when you know
- 11:38Speaker 3: who dies, and it's like, oh, that's not a very
- 11:41Speaker 3: nice to day positive, I mean, as negative as people
- 11:44Speaker 3: might think about Donald Trump. Don't make jokes about that.
- 11:49Speaker 1: You do that, you're going to break up Tenacious D. Yeah. Yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 1: they never got back together. Did that that was terrible? No? No,
- 11:56Speaker 1: well not yet at least. I mean there's still time.
- 11:58Speaker 3: But they also discussed how recently there was and this
- 12:02Speaker 3: is the thing with animation, it's easy to ai and
- 12:05Speaker 3: fake it. When the CEO got caught cheating on his
- 12:08Speaker 3: wife at the Coldplay concept, there was a fake screenshot
- 12:11Speaker 3: of a Simpsons episode saying the Simpsons predicted it and
- 12:14Speaker 3: it was the guy. It literally looked like just the
- 12:16Speaker 3: same scene. But I think they're looking through like a
- 12:17Speaker 3: submarine window or something on and outside the window. I
- 12:20Speaker 3: don't know what it was anyway, I've seen one with
- 12:23Speaker 3: Skinner and Krabobol. I do know that this was just
- 12:25Speaker 3: it looked like people made mockery ones. Yeah, and people
- 12:29Speaker 3: and news websites didn't fact check it. That has went
- 12:32Speaker 3: oh my god, they've done it again, and all these
- 12:34Speaker 3: news websites shared it, and Matt someone's just kind of
- 12:36Speaker 3: gone to say, look, can we please get back to
- 12:39Speaker 3: the era where people fact checked things, because yes, you
- 12:42Speaker 3: might have seen it shared on social media. Make sure
- 12:45Speaker 3: we did it, because.
- 12:45Speaker 1: It reflects poorly on us as well, because like, why
- 12:47Speaker 1: would we this makes no sense. Why would we have
- 12:50Speaker 1: two carters exactly the same hugging the same way on
- 12:53Speaker 1: a jumbo tron. It's just stupidity.
- 12:55Speaker 3: But news websites now want to be the first ones
- 12:57Speaker 3: to say, oh my god, the Simpsons predicted it.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yeah, people, just remember what does it? Don't believe none
- 13:03Speaker 1: of what you see and only half of what you're here,
- 13:04Speaker 1: all the other way around either way. Yeah, don't necessarily
- 13:07Speaker 1: trust your eyes and ears. No, do a little research.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But they did reveal some upcoming guests for season thirty seven,
- 13:13Speaker 3: some of them you're.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Going to really like. Indeed, Yeah, some really good names
- 13:16Speaker 1: came through.
- 13:17Speaker 3: We've got Kieran Culkin, Viola Davis. I'm apologize, I don't
- 13:21Speaker 3: know who Viola Davis is, Oscar.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Winner, Fantastic Actor, indeed making a bit of a pivot
- 13:27Speaker 1: into action movie roles in her in her late fifties
- 13:30Speaker 1: early sixties, she was in a movie recently called G
- 13:33Speaker 1: twenty where she played the American President.
- 13:35Speaker 3: As soon as he said Oscar, I'm like, I guarantee
- 13:37Speaker 3: I know who she is now and other than I'm like, yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 3: I know she is yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yah, yeah, the star of the Woman King. Yeah.
- 13:41Speaker 3: But I saw her in Fences. I believe Bence is
- 13:45Speaker 3: good movie.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah, And she was the other star of I think
- 13:47Speaker 1: it's the TV series How to Get Away with Murder? Okay, Yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 1: been working for ages, broke through now everywhere. Yeah. Virala
- 13:55Speaker 1: Davis absolutely shing a bell, string of bell it. Driselle
- 13:58Speaker 1: was going to be in there, knuckles for the kids
- 13:59Speaker 1: out there. Fantastic voice actor. Did you did you see
- 14:02Speaker 1: the John Favreau's redoing of the Jungle Book? I did,
- 14:06Speaker 1: Holly literally washed it like yesterday. Yeah. And he's Sheer
- 14:10Speaker 1: Khan is he? Yeah, he's probably the best voice performance
- 14:13Speaker 1: in it. And you've got great voice, great voices in it,
- 14:16Speaker 1: like Bill Murray and Christoph Walkan and all that kind
- 14:18Speaker 1: of stuff. Blue isn't Heah? Yeah? But it resemble with
- 14:22Speaker 1: Marvelous in it. So yeah, anytime you can hear that
- 14:24Speaker 1: man's dulcet tones, well it's only second to hearing you know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: guy Davis speak exactly. Yeah. Who else we got? We
- 14:30Speaker 1: got a gentleman named Cole Escola. He's very big on
- 14:34Speaker 1: Broadway at the moment and a play called Oh Mary.
- 14:36Speaker 1: He does a really good bit. I don't know if
- 14:38Speaker 1: it's with Seth. It might be with Colbert, who we
- 14:40Speaker 1: can talk about a little later, because yeah, he's always
- 14:43Speaker 1: in the news. I'm just gonna say it's Cola. Scola
- 14:46Speaker 1: is very gay, but he and when he appears on
- 14:49Speaker 1: Colbert he is dressed quite flamboyantly. He says, I really
- 14:52Speaker 1: want to play straight characters. I've been working on a
- 14:54Speaker 1: straight character and he does the best bro voice. We
- 14:56Speaker 1: should try and find this big, but it's very, very funny,
- 14:59Speaker 1: so I'm looking for to what he does. You got
- 15:01Speaker 1: an actor named Adam Paley. He was on a show
- 15:03Speaker 1: called Happy Endings. That's a bit of a I would
- 15:06Speaker 1: say a friend's knockoff. But you know how you had
- 15:08Speaker 1: friends and then it's like, well, what's going to be
- 15:10Speaker 1: the next friends? It might be how I met your mother?
- 15:12Speaker 1: It might be. I've tried and tried. They've certainly tried
- 15:14Speaker 1: Happy Endings. I think went for a few seasons and
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's got a real cult following, and he's a cast
- 15:19Speaker 1: member that is really really good. Tell me get set
- 15:21Speaker 1: in the message parlor. That's just why would you say that,
- 15:25Speaker 1: Why would you alienate the You're just smutty. They's just
- 15:30Speaker 1: met father and son, Brendan and Dominall Gleason. Yeah, that'll
- 15:34Speaker 1: be good Danny beauty from community. And biggest and best
- 15:38Speaker 1: news possibly the return of Albert Brooks.
- 15:40Speaker 3: He's back, maybe doing somehow. I did a I was
- 15:43Speaker 3: on the Simpsons Index recently just as a quick, little
- 15:46Speaker 3: like last minute thing. They said, you want to come on,
- 15:47Speaker 3: I guess is pulled down. I was like shot And
- 15:49Speaker 3: I had to review a season thirty two episode and
- 15:51Speaker 3: had Albert Brooks and you can just tell again there's
- 15:54Speaker 3: got Albert Brooks in the character meant nothing to the episode.
- 15:56Speaker 3: It's like, can you just fill two minutes of TV
- 15:58Speaker 3: for us?
- 15:59Speaker 1: Please? Please? Rift That's literally all it was.
- 16:01Speaker 3: So hopefully we get more of that because I'm not
- 16:03Speaker 3: going to say no, because Albert Brooks is hilarious. Also,
- 16:05Speaker 3: Glenn howardon, it's always funny. And also Michael Keaton, Michael Keaton,
- 16:09Speaker 3: I didn't see that one. Also during the panel I'm
- 16:12Speaker 3: quoting here, Simpsons producers shared a sneak preview of one
- 16:15Speaker 3: of this year's Treehouse of Horror Halloween segments. Idris Elber,
- 16:18Speaker 3: Michael Keaton, and Viola Davis will be guest starring on
- 16:21Speaker 3: that episode. Yeah, and an opening from guest animators Stan
- 16:24Speaker 3: Kelly from the Onion from Onion, Yes. I feel like
- 16:27Speaker 3: the Trios of Horror episodes of The Simpsons now in
- 16:30Speaker 3: modern times are really the only ones.
- 16:31Speaker 1: People talk about.
- 16:33Speaker 3: A lot of people talked about this season Bart's birthday
- 16:35Speaker 3: because they started off like it was going to be
- 16:36Speaker 3: the end of the Simpsons, and news websites just remembered
- 16:38Speaker 3: it saying the Simpsons just they're finale, when it's like
- 16:41Speaker 3: it wasn't their finale. Treos of Horror gets people talking.
- 16:45Speaker 3: And then the last one, the finale, the actual finale
- 16:47Speaker 3: of the season, was where Marge died, but she didn't
- 16:50Speaker 3: really die. Yes, So, unless unless they can get some
- 16:53Speaker 3: clickbait out of it, people don't talk about Simpsons anymore.
- 16:56Speaker 3: And it's a shame, but it's just where we are
- 16:57Speaker 3: in twenty twenty five. But the treos of horror episodes
- 16:59Speaker 3: see to always get people talking at least oh yeah,
- 17:02Speaker 3: absolute because they're the most fun.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I think. Now, I think people are I would say people.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Are over to seeing basic Simpsons stories, but they just
- 17:10Speaker 3: want to see the Simpsons parodys shit now, I think, right, I.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Think so, yeah, yeah, which is hopefully they can sort
- 17:15Speaker 1: of steer it back in the direction of you know,
- 17:18Speaker 1: this is a story about a family, about a community,
- 17:19Speaker 1: about a town, and all that kind of stuff, and
- 17:23Speaker 1: I don't know, reconnect with the audiences that way, as
- 17:25Speaker 1: opposed to just did a little did do do? And
- 17:28Speaker 1: now in this in this corner, we have so and so.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Now we have Michael Keaton, Now we have by all
- 17:32Speaker 1: the Davis. Now we have so and so. Get back
- 17:34Speaker 1: to the basics, baby, get back to good soul of storytelling. Yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 1: old time hockey.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I will say this though, my kids, who are now
- 17:43Speaker 3: seven and four nearly five, they want to watch the
- 17:46Speaker 3: Simpsons quite a lot now, but they want to watch
- 17:49Speaker 3: modern Simpsons. They like the old Simpsons. I put on,
- 17:52Speaker 3: they sit down and enjoy it. But if they're in
- 17:54Speaker 3: charge of the remote control. They're picking new Simpsons, So
- 17:57Speaker 3: you know what that tells me, don't give the kids
- 17:58Speaker 3: a remote. Of course that that and we're just getting
- 18:03Speaker 3: old and the Simpsons we're complaining about. It's because it's
- 18:05Speaker 3: not made for us anymore.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we've said this in the past, We'll continue
- 18:08Speaker 1: to say it again. I'm gonna keep saying to like
- 18:10Speaker 1: kill over and then they'll be dancing in the streets.
- 18:15Speaker 3: But yeah, so that's a bit of news there for
- 18:17Speaker 3: season thirty seven. But out of SDCC, Yeah, there's mean
- 18:20Speaker 3: more Simpsons news in a few moments. But let's get
- 18:23Speaker 3: to another question. This one comes from John Looney. If
- 18:27Speaker 3: you were able to use a Simpsons related vehicle for
- 18:30Speaker 3: your daily driver, what vehicle would you choose? I personally
- 18:33Speaker 3: would take Little Bandit, which is Snake's car Premium Dude,
- 18:37Speaker 3: because muscle cars are badass, as he says.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I agree, car. I agree with John on this point.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I had this the other day. I mean, sorry, I
- 18:46Speaker 1: don't want to be all gloomier like sadness is the
- 18:48Speaker 1: default mode these days, but I was driving down the street.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Keep mars out the cars, as you should do when
- 18:54Speaker 1: you're driving. They're all the same they're all the same.
- 18:56Speaker 1: They're all white, gray, or black, and they all look
- 18:58Speaker 1: the same. Yeah. It made me a little blue yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 1: which is not a color you can find in cars.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Then I said it the other day and Nicoly goes,
- 19:06Speaker 3: are you just getting old? I was like, look though,
- 19:08Speaker 3: and she looked and she's like, oh Christ, you're right.
- 19:11Speaker 1: They're all the same.
- 19:12Speaker 3: They're gray, like there are some variants, but she's like,
- 19:14Speaker 3: they're majority gray, white or black and they all look
- 19:17Speaker 3: the same.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, very much. So. So yeah, in thinking about
- 19:21Speaker 1: your question, John, I was muscle car. Absolutely. I was
- 19:24Speaker 1: thinking Homer's muscle car from my married Marge, the one
- 19:26Speaker 1: he had to give up.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Which one's that.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It's the one that had the Disco Sucks sticker on
- 19:31Speaker 1: it and it had like the chain mail steering wheel.
- 19:35Speaker 1: He had to give up a car, didn't he. I'm
- 19:36Speaker 1: pretty sure that he had. He had like his muscle car.
- 19:39Speaker 1: And then he realizes Marge is pregnant and he's like, well,
- 19:41Speaker 1: this isn't practical anymore. I'm gonna have to go seventy
- 19:44Speaker 1: sports cars at the one. I think, so yeah, oh
- 19:46Speaker 1: I see it. Yeah, shit with no recuction of the
- 19:49Speaker 1: car at all, because Honestly, it kind of feels like,
- 19:52Speaker 1: again not wanting to be that person who's like everything
- 19:54Speaker 1: was better in the past, but it does feel like
- 19:56Speaker 1: for cars at least, and maybe for a lot of things,
- 19:58Speaker 1: like the seventies was the last gasp of form and function.
- 20:02Speaker 1: This was a car that had some real grunts, some
- 20:04Speaker 1: real oomph under the hood, but also like had Curbs, Baby, Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 1: Tivin and Simpsons Hit and Run. How did I not
- 20:11Speaker 1: remember this? Yeah, dude, So yeah, that's the kind of
- 20:15Speaker 1: car that I would like. I mean, I was. I've
- 20:17Speaker 1: never really been a huge car guy. I mean neither.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It just gets me from A to B and that's fine,
- 20:21Speaker 1: you know, as long as you know the tires don't
- 20:23Speaker 1: go flat and don't know the engine turns over when
- 20:25Speaker 1: you turn the key, that's all. I'm interesting. Or maybe
- 20:27Speaker 1: even push the button because apparently coached them he had keys.
- 20:31Speaker 1: That scares me.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Well, a friend of ours lost their phone the other
- 20:35Speaker 3: day and they go, I can't turn my car on. Now,
- 20:37Speaker 3: I went, They've got a Tesla. They've got a Tesla
- 20:39Speaker 3: and they can only turn their phone if the doors
- 20:41Speaker 3: only open up, if they have their phone Bluetooth.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I was I was like, what, what's the like we
- 20:48Speaker 1: lost control somewhere. Yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Anyway, I like the idea of Chester lamp Wick's rocket
- 20:56Speaker 3: car that he buys when he sues Itching and Scratchy. Right,
- 20:59Speaker 3: but I've placed sabs is hit and run and that
- 21:01Speaker 3: car explodes after one hit, so it's not a very
- 21:04Speaker 3: strong vehicle for pure speed. The rocker car a lot
- 21:08Speaker 3: of fun. I'm gonna maybe go with. I think it'd
- 21:12Speaker 3: be good to drive around in the snow in the
- 21:14Speaker 3: mister Plower or the plower King.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I must have been. I was thinking of something that
- 21:17Speaker 1: had a bit of size to it, a bit of girth,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and when people yeah, yeah, yeah, and when people when
- 21:22Speaker 1: you drove down the street, people acknowledge you just the
- 21:24Speaker 1: plower King or it's mister plow. You know. How do
- 21:27Speaker 1: you feel when you see someone who's got like advertising
- 21:30Speaker 1: in their cars either are like a soul trade or something.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I mean, I don't mind it if it's a ute
- 21:34Speaker 1: or something like that. When it's oh, come unblock your
- 21:38Speaker 1: drains or you know, or I'm a sparky and I'm
- 21:40Speaker 1: sort of advertising myself. Cool, yeah, exactly. If it's more
- 21:45Speaker 1: like a service industry, your power guy here is, you know,
- 21:47Speaker 1: entering the celebricy game. I wouldn't want to be driving
- 21:50Speaker 1: around a car that said Kay Davie a celebrant and sad.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I mean, even though it's probably as good advertising. Were
- 21:55Speaker 1: you like this? Yeah, there's your thumb alphab.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yes, people out there who are sitting there slamming down
- 22:03Speaker 3: their keyboards saying, how do you possibly not say the
- 22:06Speaker 3: canyon Era yet? Yes, the Canyonary would be very fun
- 22:08Speaker 3: to drive, Like I.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Said, like mister Plowermobile Barnie's answer to that, Yes, indeed,
- 22:16Speaker 1: canyon Neero. Yeah, I probably missung that, but I mean,
- 22:19Speaker 1: you know.
- 22:19Speaker 3: They'd be a tease for one of the Simpsons songs
- 22:21Speaker 3: a little bit later.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Maybe that's a great thing.
- 22:25Speaker 3: But yeah, mister Plower the ployer king that they'd be fine,
- 22:27Speaker 3: I reckon cane Era as well. Four figure discount is

- 23:00Speaker 3: Mike Stanton, with the Simpsons Movie celebrating its eighteenth anniversary
- 23:04Speaker 3: this week. Congratulations to all those who wor.
- 23:07Speaker 1: In the film.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Do you think the film deserves the hate it receives
- 23:10Speaker 3: from some fans? I personally really enjoy it and watch
- 23:13Speaker 3: it at least once a year. Cheers for the podcast. Hey,
- 23:16Speaker 3: thanks very much, Thank you, Mike. Does the Simpsons Movie
- 23:18Speaker 3: deserve the hate to receipts from fans? Of course, it
- 23:20Speaker 3: doesn't deserve hate. I don't think it deserves hate. I mean, look,
- 23:23Speaker 3: everyone's entitled their opinion or als. If it doesn't work
- 23:25Speaker 3: for you, it doesn't work for you, Ye'll be sure
- 23:27Speaker 3: to back up your opinion with the actual opinions. I
- 23:32Speaker 3: do think the film came out ten years too late.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I think it really If the film came out during
- 23:37Speaker 3: that nineties era, everyone who grew up with the show
- 23:40Speaker 3: would have that nostalgia connection to the movie. And even
- 23:42Speaker 3: if it had flaws like the Simpsons movie does, they
- 23:45Speaker 3: would forgive them more than they do. Because it came
- 23:47Speaker 3: out in season eighteen.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I think you're right in that regard. Coming out at
- 23:50Speaker 1: the time that it did. I won't say it necessarily
- 23:53Speaker 1: felt like a cash grab, but it also didn't necessarily
- 23:55Speaker 1: feel like a celebration of the Simpsons and Springfield and
- 23:58Speaker 1: that kind of thing. I kind of think it did,
- 24:01Speaker 1: but yeah, I can agree. But yeah, if it came
- 24:03Speaker 1: out in the midst of what we traditionally call the
- 24:06Speaker 1: Vintage Simpsons or the Golden Era or something like that,
- 24:08Speaker 1: it would have been, oh my god, this is bursting
- 24:11Speaker 1: with such creativity that we can't limit it to how
- 24:15Speaker 1: many episodes of season or something like that. We've got
- 24:17Speaker 1: to go. We've got to give you more. We've got
- 24:19Speaker 1: so many ideas and so much that we want to express.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I think when you've got a movie that's based on
- 24:24Speaker 1: a TV series, and I'm not talking about like a
- 24:27Speaker 1: TV series that it was on TV for a while,
- 24:30Speaker 1: off the air for a couple of years, people start
- 24:31Speaker 1: thinking about it, let's do a big screen reboot, thinking
- 24:34Speaker 1: like The Fugitive or Mission Impossible or something like that.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I see it yeah, but when you're doing something, it's
- 24:39Speaker 1: like this show is still on the air, but we're
- 24:40Speaker 1: also going to do a movie. Like, you're better be
- 24:43Speaker 1: very careful. I think you really need that gap in between.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's been off the air for a while, it had
- 24:50Speaker 1: time to miss it. Yeah, we're bringing it back this
- 24:52Speaker 1: time in movie form BD and look, sometimes that can
- 24:55Speaker 1: work absolutely. I mean I was never a huge Sex
- 24:58Speaker 1: in the City guy. But we're going to see the
- 25:01Speaker 1: first movie. I was like, oh, well, they've actually made
- 25:04Speaker 1: this into a movie. It feels like it's got big
- 25:06Speaker 1: screen production values and all that kind of stuff, as
- 25:10Speaker 1: opposed to just it's an episode of Sex and the City.
- 25:13Speaker 1: It's three episodes of Sex and the City sort of
- 25:15Speaker 1: stacked back to back.
- 25:16Speaker 3: I would have been so when the Simpsons movie came
- 25:17Speaker 3: out two thousand and seven, so I would have been
- 25:20Speaker 3: eighteen ish. Well, I mean eighteen ish, I guess eighty
- 25:23Speaker 3: eighteen ish. It still felt like a big deal. It
- 25:26Speaker 3: felt I wasn't generally as excited it would have been
- 25:28Speaker 3: had I been a kid, but it was almost like
- 25:30Speaker 3: a relief of well, finally we're getting a movie, and
- 25:33Speaker 3: there was so much marketing behind it, so I think
- 25:36Speaker 3: just the hype of me being a lifelong Simpsons fan.
- 25:39Speaker 3: At that point in time, a lot of my friends
- 25:42Speaker 3: had just moved on, a lot of Simpsons fans who
- 25:44Speaker 3: grew up with the show hadn't moved on, right, and
- 25:46Speaker 3: I was still sticking true.
- 25:47Speaker 1: At the show.
- 25:48Speaker 3: It felt like, oh, maybe this would be a way
- 25:50Speaker 3: of getting all my friends back onto the Simpsons. And
- 25:52Speaker 3: it felt like it was cool again to talk about
- 25:55Speaker 3: the Simpsons when for a long while I was like,
- 25:56Speaker 3: you're still watching the Simpsons. And now it's like, oh know,
- 25:59Speaker 3: the movie's come. Everyone's going, oh, yeah, I'll go see
- 26:01Speaker 3: the Simpsons movie. And it felt cool to be a
- 26:03Speaker 3: Simpsons fan again. Yeah, and I don't think it's cool
- 26:06Speaker 3: to be a Simpsons fan anymore.
- 26:07Speaker 1: You know, if you're asking people to pay for what
- 26:09Speaker 1: they get for free every week, yeah, you've got You've
- 26:11Speaker 1: really got a certain you've got your work cut out
- 26:13Speaker 1: for it. Plus there's another thing as well. I mean
- 26:15Speaker 1: I'm not really sort of this is leading away from
- 26:18Speaker 1: the Simpsons element. Really shouldn't do sorry about that. But
- 26:21Speaker 1: the way Prestige TV is these days, there's very little
- 26:24Speaker 1: difference between say, an episode of Game of Thrones or
- 26:28Speaker 1: House the Dragon, or and your average sword and sorcery movie.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Stranger Things season five apparently every episode's like two hours
- 26:36Speaker 3: or something. Yeah, streaming has ruined the idea of a
- 26:39Speaker 3: TV show being a movie because essentially our mini movies
- 26:41Speaker 3: now aren't they very much the case because they are.
- 26:44Speaker 3: They're just making the Stranger Thing season five. Every episode
- 26:47Speaker 3: is almost like a movie now, basically so because they
- 26:50Speaker 3: have the capabilities to do so, and Netflix just go
- 26:53Speaker 3: as long as you want to.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Kind of thing. Yeah, I don't think TV shows could
- 26:56Speaker 1: really do it anymore, could they. Bluey's doing it though,
- 26:58Speaker 1: Blue Porpatok kids shows maybe and get Simpsons, Yeah, well
- 27:02Speaker 1: certainly with kids because yeah, I mean I think movies
- 27:04Speaker 1: these days are either huge event kind of deals or
- 27:09Speaker 1: there's something you take the kids to you want to Okay,
- 27:12Speaker 1: the kids still want to watch stuff, but we don't
- 27:13Speaker 1: want to keep them in the house all day and
- 27:15Speaker 1: go to the boos. We'll make it an event. So yeah,
- 27:17Speaker 1: And if you've got a property like Bluey, which I think,
- 27:19Speaker 1: as we were discussing the other day, kind of is that.
- 27:22Speaker 3: It's the closest thing to the Simpsons I think we have.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It is or certainly that show that everyone could watch together.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Yep, exactly right, and Poor Patrol right for example, the
- 27:31Speaker 3: main por Patrol movies, that kind of thing. You go
- 27:33Speaker 3: to the movies and you watch it with the kids,
- 27:35Speaker 3: and you sit in there going, you've just made this
- 27:36Speaker 3: to sell new toys, and that's the idea of kids.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Obviously.
- 27:40Speaker 3: The Blue Movie, though, feels like they're making it because
- 27:42Speaker 3: there is a demand for a Blue movie and you
- 27:44Speaker 3: don't feel like they're going to make it and flog
- 27:46Speaker 3: new toys, new characters. It feels like they're making it
- 27:49Speaker 3: out of the love of the show.
- 27:51Speaker 1: And you've got to put yourselves into a child's mindset
- 27:54Speaker 1: as well, whereas like, Okay, you're watching it home. I
- 27:56Speaker 1: mean the middle of your TV's probably pretty big, probably
- 27:59Speaker 1: got the high definition and all that kind of stuff,
- 28:00Speaker 1: but actually going to somewhere where like the screen is big.
- 28:04Speaker 1: The Blue Movie is going to be massive, Yeah, and
- 28:05Speaker 1: you're going to be in a room full of kids
- 28:06Speaker 1: who are also feeling like Blue bandit. Yeah, you can't wait.
- 28:09Speaker 1: It's going to be massive. Yeah, it's gonna create that
- 28:12Speaker 1: vibe that you and I often talk about when it's like,
- 28:16Speaker 1: what is the magic of the movies. Well, the magic
- 28:17Speaker 1: of the movies is being in a dark room. You're
- 28:19Speaker 1: all having the shared experience with hopefully a story that
- 28:24Speaker 1: really hooks you in. It's got moms that make you
- 28:26Speaker 1: feel great. It's got performances and actors where you go, wow,
- 28:28Speaker 1: I really want to be like that personal Oh God,
- 28:31Speaker 1: that's so cool.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 1: And I get the feeling for quoting it. Yeah, you
- 28:35Speaker 1: work out quoting it.
- 28:36Speaker 3: It becomes a part of your life, the quotes.
- 28:38Speaker 1: It's imprinted in the DNA.
- 28:40Speaker 3: And I feel like as a parent of two small
- 28:42Speaker 3: kids walking out of watching the Blue Movie and walking out,
- 28:45Speaker 3: I feel like we will have experienced something together. Sure,
- 28:48Speaker 3: I'm excited for the Blue Movie. I think as a parent,
- 28:49Speaker 3: what you've seen so many Blue episodes, you're able to
- 28:52Speaker 3: enjoy the show as well. It's not just for kids,
- 28:54Speaker 3: it's for the adults as well. And I think it's
- 28:56Speaker 3: going to be a shared experience that we will remember forever. Oh.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I mean recently on the Movie Guide with Marlton Davis
- 29:03Speaker 1: talked about airplane Slash flying high and I remember seeing
- 29:07Speaker 1: that with my parents when I was a little kid,
- 29:09Speaker 1: and my mom just absolutely cracking up at certain scenes.
- 29:12Speaker 1: In that, and I mean, I've seen my mum love
- 29:15Speaker 1: laugh of course, but I've never seen her like Sorry, Margaret,
- 29:20Speaker 1: maybe it nearly pissed herself laughing because she was enjoying
- 29:23Speaker 1: it so much, and it made me just like, it's
- 29:25Speaker 1: really sweet. I'm so happy that my mum is so
- 29:28Speaker 1: happy about this.
- 29:29Speaker 3: I have Simpson's moments where I remember my dad or
- 29:32Speaker 3: my mum laughing, and I love those jokes because it
- 29:35Speaker 3: literally takes me back to being in the lantern.
- 29:37Speaker 1: With my parents.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Absolutely, yeah, that's great, But thank you for that question, Mike.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Getting back to John Looney, he also wrote in too
- 29:44Speaker 3: so he had a really long email. I'll read it
- 29:46Speaker 3: out to you here. Oh okay, so he says, here,
- 29:49Speaker 3: this is the mailbager fourfinger discap dot com dot you. So, hey, guys,
- 29:52Speaker 3: my name is John. You can call me Looney. I
- 29:54Speaker 3: have been a patron and listening to your podcast show
- 29:56Speaker 3: for quite some time now.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Thanks John.
- 29:58Speaker 3: It took all this time for me to realize your
- 30:00Speaker 3: mail bank ended with dot au. So I've just been
- 30:03Speaker 3: throwing around my questions at the wind. So I just
- 30:05Speaker 3: had some random comments thoughts that have popped up whilst
- 30:07Speaker 3: listening and I wanted to offer some one Simpsons related question,
- 30:10Speaker 3: of course, which you've already answered a while ago on
- 30:12Speaker 3: the Futurama podcast, which we do exclusively for our patrons,
- 30:15Speaker 3: Tales of Futurama. I believe it was questioned why al
- 30:18Speaker 3: Gore was on the show so much. I believe it
- 30:20Speaker 3: was his niece who wrote for the show, and that's
- 30:22Speaker 3: why he agreed to go on the show so much.
- 30:24Speaker 1: There we go, that's that answer. That's Kristen Gore, I believe.
- 30:26Speaker 1: H Okay.
- 30:27Speaker 3: A while ago, on one of the Random Simpsons podcasts,
- 30:30Speaker 3: it was mentioned how much you guys hate the DVD
- 30:32Speaker 3: releases of The Simpsons with the heads as the shapes
- 30:34Speaker 3: because they don't fit on the shove. It was incredibly frustrating.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I loved that it was a cool design, a fun novelty,
- 30:40Speaker 3: but then you put it on the shelf and you go, oh, no.
- 30:44Speaker 1: My organizational skills out the window.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I remember putting I remember getting my season six DVD.
- 30:50Speaker 3: It was the homerhead was the first one putting on
- 30:51Speaker 3: the schef and going to my sister saying, look at this.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Stacey stays look at me, going why do you care?
- 30:58Speaker 3: This is what's bothering you.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Everybody's got there something like our stack's neat.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Yeah exactly, but it says fun fact. The Simpsons creators
- 31:09Speaker 3: heard the response and they created a website just to
- 31:11Speaker 3: exchange the head versions with a more standard looking season
- 31:14Speaker 3: dvid e case. They released those in stores here as well,
- 31:16Speaker 3: just standards. They looked the same. I bought them all
- 31:19Speaker 3: as well, We're also but they waited until all of
- 31:21Speaker 3: them were released first, so you bought the first ones
- 31:24Speaker 3: and then they re released the boxes.
- 31:25Speaker 1: No flies on those guys.
- 31:27Speaker 3: No, and certain seasons are more rare than others because
- 31:30Speaker 3: of the duel releases. Maybe in the states' mu sure
- 31:32Speaker 3: wherever you're from, but in Australia you can get them
- 31:34Speaker 3: at the up shop. But the interesting part is this
- 31:37Speaker 3: on the website they were beyond sarcastic and almost plain mean,
- 31:40Speaker 3: because when you're filling out the form there were jokes
- 31:43Speaker 3: and stuff calling you for being a cry baby and
- 31:45Speaker 3: a whiner and whatnot, and this ticked off the people
- 31:47Speaker 3: even more than the DVD heads themselves. Just thought that's
- 31:49Speaker 3: a little bit of a fun fact. John, he's a
- 31:51Speaker 3: big physical media guy apparently as well.
- 31:54Speaker 1: You should be. You said, call you. We're going to
- 31:57Speaker 1: call you Looney Looney. You said to do it, so yes,
- 32:00Speaker 1: to do it? Yeah, good points, well made.
- 32:02Speaker 3: I know you guys like the PS one and New
- 32:04Speaker 3: era of the Simpsons games. Well I do, yes, but
- 32:06Speaker 3: I will suggest there are some good Simpsons games worth
- 32:08Speaker 3: playing on the Sega Genesis and some other which is
- 32:11Speaker 3: a Sega Mega Drive is it the Saga and some
- 32:14Speaker 3: other sixteen bit or even eight bit consoles like the Nests. Anyway,
- 32:18Speaker 3: Simpsons question. The Simpsons car question was Looney's. But thank
- 32:20Speaker 3: you all for the great content and continuing to wish
- 32:22Speaker 3: you guys well. Thank you Looney for that email.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Hey Looney, thank you for thank you for the email,
- 32:26Speaker 1: thank you for your wonderful talking once, thank you for
- 32:28Speaker 1: your patronage, and hey, thank you for being a friend.
- 32:31Speaker 3: And this one is from Jess, Hi, Dando guy and
- 32:34Speaker 3: potentially Nicola. Congratulations on the three cats stando. After some
- 32:37Speaker 3: recent Forefinger discount episodes, I thought I'd pass on some
- 32:39Speaker 3: pointers that worked for training our two cats now in
- 32:42Speaker 3: Kitty Heaven. Unfortunately, oh sorry to hear Jess. We had
- 32:45Speaker 3: a spray bottle of water from our local garden center,
- 32:48Speaker 3: so they did something. They weren't supposed to. They got
- 32:50Speaker 3: a spritz of water. It didn't hurt them, but they
- 32:52Speaker 3: didn't like it either. Though it might have taught them
- 32:54Speaker 3: to do the thing. Though it might have just taught
- 32:56Speaker 3: them to do the thing when we went around, as
- 32:58Speaker 3: opposed to when we were around generally hate citrus. So
- 33:01Speaker 3: at Christmas, we painted the lower branches of our Christmas
- 33:03Speaker 3: tree with orange oil. Nicola and I have actually discussed this.
- 33:06Speaker 3: We've gone what about the Christmas tree this year because
- 33:08Speaker 3: the kids.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Usually cover it and stuff? Yeah, what are we going
- 33:11Speaker 1: to do?
- 33:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so she says, he covered the lower branches of
- 33:13Speaker 3: Christmas trees of orange oil. We did this the first
- 33:16Speaker 3: year when they were a few months old, and I
- 33:17Speaker 3: promise you they never went near it. We only needed
- 33:19Speaker 3: to use the orange oil once and they never bothered
- 33:21Speaker 3: going near the Christmas tree again.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Oh, Jesse, you came in just right.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Sorry if you might have already heard these, but I
- 33:27Speaker 3: had good intentions and I swear by this advice. Good luck,
- 33:29Speaker 3: cat Dad. Well, thank you for the email, Jess.
- 33:30Speaker 1: That's great. Jessey had never apologize for having good intentions.
- 33:33Speaker 3: That's like a life hack. Citrus spray citrus all right,
- 33:39Speaker 3: let's get to another question, shall we. So this one
- 33:41Speaker 3: here comes from Rebecca Driver Driver. Yeah, from a visual perspective,
- 33:46Speaker 3: which character do you think has the most interesting design
- 33:49Speaker 3: and which has the most true to character design? That's
- 33:52Speaker 3: a really good question.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and one that I was sort of batting my
- 33:56Speaker 1: head over. The one that came to mind immediately for
- 33:59Speaker 1: the opening the first half, this was OTTO an interesting way. Yeah, Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 1: I mean headphones usually on the long hair. He looks
- 34:08Speaker 1: like a guy.
- 34:09Speaker 3: He looks like someone who would be smoking all day
- 34:12Speaker 3: and listening to heavy air.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Right. It feels like the kind of person that I
- 34:15Speaker 1: may have worked with in the past and again recently. Yeah. Yeah,
- 34:20Speaker 1: I feel like I've encountered one or two real life ottos. So, yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I mean this this character design, I find it very interesting, Rebecca.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I think that covers both halfs of you of your question. Actually,
- 34:31Speaker 1: I find that character design really interesting and also find
- 34:33Speaker 1: it kind of authentic. Look. Sorry to be one size
- 34:35Speaker 1: fits all, but I'm gonna go with OTTO for mine.
- 34:38Speaker 3: I think crazy Cat Baity's pretty spot on from an
- 34:40Speaker 3: interesting perspective. Just the frazzle hair, it's the it's the
- 34:44Speaker 3: the old lady.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Skirt, Yeah, good points. We've got a cat hanging off
- 34:47Speaker 1: her back. One eye look in one way and another.
- 34:50Speaker 1: This may be a very guy coded answer because I
- 34:53Speaker 1: always bring up this person, wise guy, but it's wise guy.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I think wise guys. Wise guy looks like someone you
- 35:00Speaker 1: would run into in like an old school hardware store.
- 35:03Speaker 3: It looks like something you could run into anywhere. That's
- 35:05Speaker 3: the child of the character, isn't it all.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Working in admin in some medium range business or whatever. Yeah,
- 35:16Speaker 1: just a cog in the machine. But yeah, without that cog,
- 35:20Speaker 1: the machine kind of breaks down. I like Barney.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I think Barney really looks like someone who would live
- 35:26Speaker 3: at the bar. You know, he's got the he's got
- 35:28Speaker 3: a few rolls under his eyes, he's got frazzled hair,
- 35:31Speaker 3: he's got the overbite. His stomach's always just hanging out
- 35:34Speaker 3: of his shirt. His shirt never quite fits.
- 35:36Speaker 1: In that well.
- 35:36Speaker 3: So I like the Barney design the most true to
- 35:39Speaker 3: it's probably the most true to character as well. Yeah,
- 35:42Speaker 3: the most interesting. The duff Man ones. I've always liked
- 35:44Speaker 3: the duff Man design. Man's that's a great call, actually, Yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 3: just the suit, the muscles, the hat, the glasses, it's
- 35:52Speaker 3: everything you take away any peak part of that suit
- 35:54Speaker 3: and he doesn't feel like duff Man And it's true.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Yeah anymore, any character designs that seemed to fit the
- 36:00Speaker 3: HM almost interesting just to look at from a visual perspective, interesting,
- 36:04Speaker 3: simple disco stu. Oh yeah, it's an interesting character design.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Kind of like Miss Hoover.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, in what way you look at Miss Hoover
- 36:13Speaker 3: and I mean maybe this is just me, but you
- 36:15Speaker 3: kind of create a little bit of a backstory for her,
- 36:18Speaker 3: you know, like, wonder what she was like at college.
- 36:20Speaker 3: You know, she was probably Oh, I had dreams of
- 36:23Speaker 3: being a poet or something along those lines, or writing
- 36:26Speaker 3: short stories or whatever. It never quite panned out for
- 36:29Speaker 3: It's like, Okay, well I'm going to take this teaching
- 36:31Speaker 3: gig too, so I can get by while I'm writing
- 36:34Speaker 3: my sonnets or something while I'm putting together my book
- 36:36Speaker 3: of verse. We have discussed on the show that she
- 36:38Speaker 3: feels like her missus Kay in particular, but I feel
- 36:40Speaker 3: like Miss Hoover would just be fun to just hang
- 36:42Speaker 3: out with and just hang shit on.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Other people with. Oh.
- 36:46Speaker 3: She seems bitchy, but not to the point where she's
- 36:48Speaker 3: overly cruel. She just seems like she'd just be a
- 36:50Speaker 3: wise ass.
- 36:51Speaker 1: I think so. I think she's every year there's just
- 36:53Speaker 1: a little bit more bitterness and a little mint sort
- 36:55Speaker 1: of resignation to like, that's not really playing out the
- 36:58Speaker 1: way I hoped. Okay, well, you know, and.
- 37:00Speaker 3: I feel like you could just chin up in some ways,
- 37:02Speaker 3: but also you could be yourself around her as well.
- 37:04Speaker 3: She feels very down to earth. What are we gett
- 37:07Speaker 3: pizza for dinner, my lady? But miss Hoover, Yeah that's
- 37:12Speaker 3: good call. And the design she does, she just looks
- 37:15Speaker 3: there's someone in there who just wants to break out. Yes, yeah,
- 37:18Speaker 3: that's that's a good character design as well. Yeah, good, good,
- 37:20Speaker 3: good answer. All right, This one here comes from Jess Hellman.
- 37:25Speaker 3: What is your favorite Simpsons song? What is your favorite
- 37:28Speaker 3: Simpsons song? She loves the Stonecutter's theme, which is why
- 37:31Speaker 3: I always look forward to hearing you guys do your
- 37:32Speaker 3: shout outs on the podcast. Of course, the patrons of ours,
- 37:37Speaker 3: the top tier supporters, are called Stonecutters, and they get
- 37:39Speaker 3: their names with it on every show. We'll do that
- 37:41Speaker 3: after this question.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Indeed, as if you needed another reason to become a Stonecutter.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Indeed, So, what's your favorite Simpsons.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Look, there really is only one answer to this, and
- 37:50Speaker 1: that's I do believe We're naked by Funky See Funky do.
- 37:54Speaker 3: What do you look for in a Simpsons song? Do
- 37:55Speaker 3: you want to upbeat and loud and crazy or do
- 37:58Speaker 3: you want it sort of more emotional? What do you
- 37:59Speaker 3: want Simpsons song?
- 38:00Speaker 1: Well? Look at varies, of course, doesn't. I mean something
- 38:04Speaker 1: that Simpsons is very very good at is finding that
- 38:07Speaker 1: musical accompaniment to either move the story forward or tell
- 38:13Speaker 1: you a little bit more about the character or a
- 38:15Speaker 1: character situation. So yeah, there are certainly times when it's like, oh,
- 38:19Speaker 1: this is a bit downbeat and a little sort of
- 38:21Speaker 1: not necessarily mellow, but more like, oh, this is making
- 38:25Speaker 1: me a little more emotional than I thought. I don't
- 38:28Speaker 1: mind those, but those are ones that I tend to
- 38:31Speaker 1: maybe respect more than enjoy. The ones that I've written
- 38:35Speaker 1: that I've written down here is my favorites. I really
- 38:37Speaker 1: like Bagged Me a Homer. I think that's I think
- 38:39Speaker 1: that's terrific. That whole episode Colonel Homer is incredible.
- 38:42Speaker 3: That's chocolate Block with great songs. And I don't think I,
- 38:45Speaker 3: as a kid really appreciated. But when we revisited it
- 38:47Speaker 3: for the podcast as an adult and someone who'd been
- 38:49Speaker 3: married as well, and just the storyline in general. That
- 38:52Speaker 3: episode is I still say, one of the most underrated
- 38:55Speaker 3: classic episodes of The Simpsons.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the story, the music, everything about it is fantastic
- 38:59Speaker 1: and written by Matt Grainy indeed, and the music works
- 39:02Speaker 1: in concert with the storyline. The songs inform the story
- 39:05Speaker 1: and help it move forward.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Who was Beverly Dangelo known from the Well Vacation movies?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think you played Loretta Lynn.
- 39:15Speaker 3: She did, Actually, that's why they That's what gave her
- 39:17Speaker 3: the idea for.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Colemaner's Daughter. Oh hey, no, she might have played
- 39:20Speaker 1: Patsy kleiin she played someone Yeah in Colemner's Daughter, which
- 39:23Speaker 1: was about Lorette in and she sings the songs as well.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Beverly Dangelo is quite the underrated talent. Colonel Homer.
- 39:30Speaker 3: If you have not revisited it in a while, do so.
- 39:32Speaker 1: It's amazing. But bagged me Homer is probably my favorite.
- 39:35Speaker 1: There's a lot of great songs in it, but that's
- 39:36Speaker 1: one that I really enjoy. I tend to like things
- 39:38Speaker 1: are a little more upbeat.
- 39:39Speaker 3: I like what's the one at the end that she sings.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I hope that it was just a lucky shit and
- 39:45Speaker 1: it's like, why am I crying? Look, I'm sorry. There's
- 39:50Speaker 1: a bit of a cliched answer, I know, because it
- 39:52Speaker 1: tends to be almost everyone's favorite. But I'm a big, big,
- 39:55Speaker 1: big fan of the Monorail song. I think, Okay, that
- 39:57Speaker 1: is just so well done for me.
- 40:00Speaker 3: I for a Simpsons song, I want as many characters
- 40:03Speaker 3: involved as possible, and that's one of those.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Yeah, when you get the little call and response and
- 40:08Speaker 1: I won't say it's apex Phil Hartman, but it's close,
- 40:12Speaker 1: it really is. I mean, sorry, my favorite, my favorite
- 40:17Speaker 1: Phil Hartmon moment is always going to be when Skinner
- 40:19Speaker 1: goes into his office said, so, Ron's Julie's around here.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Now you can have this one. It's half full. Well,
- 40:24Speaker 1: why don't just drink out of a toilet. He'll be back. Phil,
- 40:30Speaker 1: We love you when there's so much But yeah, the
- 40:33Speaker 1: Monorail song, I think is just fantastic. I've plaited a
- 40:36Speaker 1: couple of times before we started. It's like, this is
- 40:39Speaker 1: so good in so many ways.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Was such a swimmerly Lanley as well?
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you're getting sold a bill of goods here,
- 40:46Speaker 1: but it's like, I'll allow it. She's so charming.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Yes, yes, and it's so fun because we used to
- 40:52Speaker 3: do Simpson Trivia nights and we had bows that go
- 40:54Speaker 3: who was singing Simpsons songs, and it was the perfect
- 40:56Speaker 3: song to sing in that scenario because he'd go glad
- 40:59Speaker 3: to soughly as a cloud, the ring came up, my
- 41:01Speaker 3: pudding can take my bed. The whole crowds back and
- 41:03Speaker 3: forth with him. Incredible and even.
- 41:05Speaker 1: If you don't know, you can just go monarel monare Ye.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So yeah, definitely bagged me a home and yeah, but
- 41:13Speaker 1: the Monorail song is sort of hiad and shoulders above
- 41:15Speaker 1: everything else as far as I'm concerned, What do you think?
- 41:17Speaker 3: Well, I agree with the great choices. I also, I've
- 41:20Speaker 3: always loved and it's always been my favorite. And it's
- 41:23Speaker 3: not the best song, but it's always my favorite. It's
- 41:24Speaker 3: we put the Spring in Springfield, same element. It's upbeat,
- 41:27Speaker 3: it's fun, it furthers the story and it's just but
- 41:31Speaker 3: it's just so ridiculous. But it includes so many different characters,
- 41:33Speaker 3: but we put the Spring in spring You can't even
- 41:37Speaker 3: smile when you think about the song, and that's what
- 41:39Speaker 3: I like in a Simpsons song. But what are your
- 41:41Speaker 3: thoughts on the ones where they're parroting a classic song.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I like the idea of them doing this because as
- 41:46Speaker 3: a kid watching you might not realize they're parroting something.
- 41:49Speaker 3: A classic one is See My Vest, which is be
- 41:53Speaker 3: Our Guest of Beauty and the Beast.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I like it fine. I was never I was a
- 41:58Speaker 1: little bit too old to sort of catch that wave
- 41:59Speaker 1: of Disney animation. Yeah, I knew it was out there.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I knew that it was really turning things around for Disney,
- 42:05Speaker 1: and I respected it and admired it. At the same time,
- 42:07Speaker 1: It's not like to have for a feel good movie,
- 42:10Speaker 1: I'm going to revisit The Bidding the Beast or Aladdin
- 42:13Speaker 1: or The Lion King. I know people love them. I
- 42:16Speaker 1: kind of like them, so and again with Seeing My Vest,
- 42:19Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, I know what you're doing here. It
- 42:21Speaker 1: was good enjoying it, not bad, but yeah, not necessarily
- 42:24Speaker 1: going to be one of one of my favorites.
- 42:27Speaker 3: So I liked it just purely because I liked the song.
- 42:29Speaker 3: I didn't even realize it was be Our Guest when
- 42:31Speaker 3: I was a kid. I'm bidding the beast. This wasn't
- 42:33Speaker 3: on my radar when I was a kid. I just
- 42:34Speaker 3: never really watched it.
- 42:35Speaker 1: But just.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Whenever someone's wearing your vest as a sincespen, you have
- 42:39Speaker 3: to say, sim.
- 42:42Speaker 1: If you're talking parody songs. This came up a little
- 42:45Speaker 1: while ago because I think you put it on line
- 42:47Speaker 1: as part of a meme or something when I was seventeen.
- 42:50Speaker 1: It was a very good I mean that got taken down. Yeah,
- 42:55Speaker 1: but to weave this whole history about Homer abdaining a
- 42:59Speaker 1: fake and all the details of it, because you probably
- 43:02Speaker 1: would have formative memories of like, oh, yeah, when I
- 43:06Speaker 1: was a kid in underage and trying to get my
- 43:08Speaker 1: first beers or whatever, and jump through all these hoops to.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Apparently that's sexual solicitation if you according to facebooks that algorithm.
- 43:18Speaker 3: So don't post that meme everybody.
- 43:20Speaker 1: The algorithm man who knows who knows what it's thinking.
- 43:25Speaker 1: So I enjoyed that one very much, But yeah, I
- 43:27Speaker 1: think it depends on you can admind respect and enjoy
- 43:30Speaker 1: the ingenuity of the Simpsons writing team coming up with, oh,
- 43:34Speaker 1: they're doing a play on this, and also your own
- 43:36Speaker 1: memories of that song the original. It's like, how clever
- 43:40Speaker 1: that they took this thing that I know or that
- 43:43Speaker 1: I love and you put a clock in it. That's great.
- 43:46Speaker 3: I want to acknowledge one that came a little bit
- 43:48Speaker 3: later and the Simpsons Golden Earrum. And when I first
- 43:51Speaker 3: watched this episode, I didn't really have any idea what
- 43:53Speaker 3: was going on, but it's those were.
- 43:55Speaker 1: The day's parody from what's the show?
- 43:57Speaker 3: The show was all in the family and the family,
- 43:58Speaker 3: but everyone always goes by to Michael Jackson still was black.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Those were the days.
- 44:04Speaker 3: And for no reason, here's a pooh And when I
- 44:08Speaker 3: first watched as a kid, I'm going, what is happening here?
- 44:11Speaker 3: And I'm like, I need to redo that again with
- 44:14Speaker 3: more modern times. What's something we could look back on now,
- 44:17Speaker 3: like something Brittany maybe yeah, yeah, yeah. And also I
- 44:21Speaker 3: want to throw a shout out to the episode sounding
- 44:24Speaker 3: the incredible Maggie Roswell as Sharry Bobbins Mary Poppins episode
- 44:28Speaker 3: since the color progalistic XBLA annoy gruntcious. Yes, yes, so
- 44:33Speaker 3: many good songs. That's purely just a parody of Mary Poppins.
- 44:36Speaker 3: But Maggie does such a good job in that song
- 44:39Speaker 3: in that episode. I still remember when Mitch and I
- 44:41Speaker 3: went to one of the comic cons when we first
- 44:43Speaker 3: started doing the podcast, and she was one of the guests,
- 44:45Speaker 3: and she agreed to do a little bit of an interview.
- 44:47Speaker 3: So I was just standing there and she's saying that
- 44:49Speaker 3: it's the American waits the person. I was like, this
- 44:53Speaker 3: is amazing, you know, just here seeing her sing that song.
- 44:55Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, it's the song I've heard so
- 44:57Speaker 3: many times now she's singing in front of me. Yeah,
- 44:59Speaker 3: so to able to make you roswell for that episode as.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Well, a lot of good songs in there. One that's
- 45:04Speaker 1: probably canceled these days.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Yes, all right, there's so many other Simpsons songs, So
- 45:10Speaker 3: please let us know in the comments which are your
- 45:11Speaker 3: favorite Simpsons songs. We love to hear from you, and

- 45:56Speaker 3: give some shatut to a certain group of people, didn't I.
- 45:58Speaker 1: You did indeed cutting stones?
- 46:00Speaker 3: So yeah, they us cutting stones. Indeed, do you have
- 46:02Speaker 3: the stones of triumph?
- 46:04Speaker 1: What's that? A shame?
- 46:05Speaker 3: No?
- 46:05Speaker 1: Who doesn't have the stone of shame? It's this lady
- 46:07Speaker 1: Katy g.

- 46:59Speaker 1: Hall of famers. Everyone. All right, so we've gotten to
- 47:02Speaker 1: the page your own group. Now we're going to answer
- 47:04Speaker 1: some of their questions. The first one he comes from
- 47:06Speaker 1: our men, Andrew Swan. He wants to know where the
- 47:08Speaker 1: one about Friends podcast is. It's coming, It's coming. Andy
- 47:14Speaker 1: d says, Given the recent and ongoing situation, what are
- 47:17Speaker 1: your current thoughts on the Facebook at the moment? Are
- 47:19Speaker 1: we sticking with this page? We'll possibly be going to
- 47:21Speaker 1: migrant to discord. Discord would be a good idea. I reckon,
- 47:24Speaker 1: maybe Facebook lift your game, except that we love you all,
- 47:28Speaker 1: hail all, hell uck.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Mike Salter, are you pleasantly surprised by the quality of
- 47:35Speaker 3: season twenty or do you think this season is the
- 47:37Speaker 3: one where the show has actually had an unqualified dropping quality.
- 47:40Speaker 3: It's definitely going down in quality, but it's nowhere near
- 47:43Speaker 3: as bad as I expected.
- 47:44Speaker 1: No, I was. I won't say I was pleasantly surprised.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I willsoy, I was surprised by I mean, maybe we're
- 47:49Speaker 1: Dan and I just sort of glass half full kind
- 47:51Speaker 1: of people were.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Trying to focus on the positive of the episode. We
- 47:54Speaker 3: still do critique them, but yeah, it's one of those
- 47:57Speaker 3: seasons where I've just gone maybe five or so have
- 47:59Speaker 3: just been outright nothing. I wouldn't say, like annoyingly bad.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Nothing's on the.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Level of when Homer Chuck margin the driver's seat, when
- 48:06Speaker 3: you drove things like that. Nothing's made me angry. Just
- 48:09Speaker 3: some of them are just going, oh, this.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Is a struggle to get through. We're like your dad.
- 48:13Speaker 1: We're not mad, We're just disappointed. Were disappointed.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Yeah, we're just like mine. Of course, not Philip Westerby,
- 48:22Speaker 3: would you be up for doing the Bobs Burgers episodes
- 48:24Speaker 3: more regularly every fortnight? Maybe I just can't wait that long.
- 48:27Speaker 3: If we had more supporters on patre and then.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Maybe we would.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Well, yeah, it's just a case of we want to
- 48:32Speaker 3: do all these extra shows for you guys on Patreons.
- 48:34Speaker 3: We've got Bobs Burger's Sign, Fowler, King of the Hill, Futurma,
- 48:37Speaker 3: and we alternate them. But the thing is that we
- 48:40Speaker 3: only have so many hours in the week, and if
- 48:42Speaker 3: we had more supporters on Patreon, We're not putting our
- 48:45Speaker 3: hands asking for money. But that's the thing. If we could,
- 48:48Speaker 3: but we aren't doing that. If we could justify not
- 48:49Speaker 3: having to do work elsewhere and focus more so on
- 48:52Speaker 3: doing this, then yes, we would put more time to
- 48:54Speaker 3: doing more Bobb's Burger's podcast. So we ate more supporters
- 48:56Speaker 3: on Patreon, then sure we would.
- 48:58Speaker 1: As I like to say, no Buck Snowbuck Rogers.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Because basically what it would mean is because I'm still
- 49:02Speaker 3: doing all the editing of the podcast, that kind of thing.
- 49:04Speaker 3: So if we had more supporters, I could then pay
- 49:06Speaker 3: people to edit the podcast for me and we could
- 49:08Speaker 3: just focus on recording sending it to editors and getting
- 49:11Speaker 3: it out there. So that would be the dream, But
- 49:13Speaker 3: until we get more supporters on Patreon that way, it's
- 49:16Speaker 3: just not feasible for us at the moment, but we
- 49:18Speaker 3: would love to do it, of course.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Yes, Dan, I showed me how to wed it and
- 49:21Speaker 1: it gave me a nosebleed.
- 49:22Speaker 3: I'm I turned around, he was gone, have onn Alyssa, Catherine,
- 49:29Speaker 3: have you watched the season thirty six episode Women in Shorts?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Wondered what your thoughts are, as it's the closest thing
- 49:34Speaker 1: we've had to twenty two short films about Springfield. I
- 49:36Speaker 1: thought it was pretty good. Ah, I remember it being on.
- 49:40Speaker 3: I think it was just sort of I'd watched an
- 49:41Speaker 3: episode and it kept going into the next one. I
- 49:44Speaker 3: was getting twenty two short films about Springfield vibes. I
- 49:48Speaker 3: can't in good faith give a review on it now
- 49:49Speaker 3: because I can't really recall too much about it. But
- 49:51Speaker 3: it's twenty two short films, but it's all the women
- 49:53Speaker 3: of Springfield. But I will say when I was watching it,
- 49:56Speaker 3: I was enjoying it. So maybe that's something we can
- 49:58Speaker 3: do in the future. We can go back and revisit it.
- 50:01Speaker 3: And do it a review on that one.
- 50:03Speaker 1: All right, Well I've been worded up, so I will
- 50:05Speaker 1: be queuing that episode up and having a look at it.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Yeah, Rachel McLean, are there any season twenty one episodes
- 50:10Speaker 3: you are looking forward to revisiting or they all passed
- 50:12Speaker 3: when you stopped watching the show. I think I'm at
- 50:14Speaker 3: the point now where I stopped watching the show. Yeah,
- 50:16Speaker 3: I think we're There might be ones that pop up
- 50:18Speaker 3: where I go, oh, yeah, I remember seeing this one somewhere,
- 50:20Speaker 3: but I wasn't watching the show week to week.
- 50:22Speaker 1: In a little rewind to me, talking about Disney before
- 50:25Speaker 1: season twenty one is going to be a whole you
- 50:29Speaker 1: because I don't recall any episodes.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Well, here we go Season twenty one. The premiere is
- 50:33Speaker 3: as a homey home of the Whopper. Homer ends up
- 50:35Speaker 3: with a Superheroes physique after he has chosen to appear
- 50:38Speaker 3: in a film based on a character created by cominbook guy.
- 50:40Speaker 3: That's sund That's fun, okay, Bart gets a Z principal.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Skinner fires missus k after she makes a drunken full
- 50:45Speaker 3: of herself and I remember seeing that one, but Skinner
- 50:47Speaker 3: doesn't know that bar Spike to her coffee with alcohol,
- 50:49Speaker 3: so it wasn't her far Bartfield Bag's like, oh my god,
- 50:50Speaker 3: I got it fired. I do remember that one. There
- 50:53Speaker 3: are any that I'm excited for, but there will be
- 50:54Speaker 3: ones where I go, oh yeah, I remember seeing this one.
- 50:56Speaker 1: I'm excited because this is all undiscovered country for me. Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 3: That is the exciting part about the podcast is we're
- 51:01Speaker 3: now in the era where and I'm sure I'm assuming
- 51:04Speaker 3: a lot of the listeners out there as well and
- 51:05Speaker 3: the viewers going I haven't watched them either, so we're
- 51:07Speaker 3: all going to watch them together. We're all in this both, baby,
- 51:10Speaker 3: strap yourselves in and feel the geez oh yeah. And
- 51:13Speaker 3: the final one here is just Andrew swant' oh reabody.
- 51:15Speaker 3: He wrote, Okay, I'm afraid I must insist you see
- 51:18Speaker 3: my wife she has been most focal on the subject
- 51:20Speaker 3: of the one about friends, whereas the one of our friends.
- 51:22Speaker 3: When are we're going to get the one about friends?
- 51:23Speaker 3: Why aren't we getting the one about friends now?
- 51:25Speaker 1: And so on? So please the one of our friends?
- 51:28Speaker 1: Very good Joe Montagne voice from you. Look, I'm going
- 51:31Speaker 1: to defer this to Dana because.
- 51:32Speaker 3: This is it's coming. It's just basically yeah, you'll find
- 51:36Speaker 3: out why. It has definitely come. We've got two episodes
- 51:38Speaker 3: in the can. We just want to make sure it
- 51:39Speaker 3: can be done on a weekly basically before we launch it.
- 51:41Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to getting it out there. It will
- 51:43Speaker 3: be coming. I promise you. I promise you. It's up
- 51:45Speaker 3: because Nicola and I I do the show with my wife.
- 51:47Speaker 3: We recover where we recover friends. We're up to season
- 51:49Speaker 3: two at the moment, and it's coming back in your
- 51:51Speaker 3: ears and then in front of your eyes as well.
- 51:53Speaker 1: We're gonna be.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Filming the show for YouTube going forward as well.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Wow, hope you guys are.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Enjoying all the video content here on the YouTube channel
- 51:58Speaker 3: at the moment. It's taken a long time to edit up,
- 52:00Speaker 3: but I think you guys appreciate it. Should we go
- 52:02Speaker 3: one more question, mister Davis, just get to another news story?
- 52:05Speaker 1: Well there was the other news story.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Yeah, you take us away. What was the other new story?
- 52:08Speaker 1: Well, the I guess Team Simpsons appeared at what we
- 52:13Speaker 1: were calling sd CC San Diego Comic Con, and they
- 52:17Speaker 1: took a little bit of well, they poked a bit
- 52:19Speaker 1: of fun. I took the mickey the mickey literally, it
- 52:25Speaker 1: was pretty smart out of their corporate overlords at Disney
- 52:30Speaker 1: by all coming out, well, they made the thing, Oh yeah, no,
- 52:33Speaker 1: we're not going to count out to our corporate bosses
- 52:35Speaker 1: or anything like that. And then they all came out
- 52:37Speaker 1: and doctor doom masks.
- 52:39Speaker 3: This is the thing. I feel like the Simpsons creators
- 52:41Speaker 3: and the writers our pal Matt like to think, they're like,
- 52:44Speaker 3: we're not doing what Disney tails like, you're doing exactly.
- 52:46Speaker 1: You're doing exactly even if you think you're kicking your
- 52:51Speaker 1: raging kids on the machine. No, you were paying into
- 52:54Speaker 1: the missiones. Yeah. So and look, with all due respect,
- 52:59Speaker 1: this feels a little sort of daylight and dollar short
- 53:02Speaker 1: in terms of the.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a year ago to the day San
- 53:04Speaker 3: Diego last year. I saw people reshowing the video on
- 53:07Speaker 3: Twitter like this was so monumental. I'm like, was it
- 53:10Speaker 3: was it? When he took the mask off, I'm like,
- 53:13Speaker 3: I did say one guy that was like the funniest
- 53:14Speaker 3: part of it. This whole thing is that one guy
- 53:16Speaker 3: going Jared Lettle just before he takes the mask. It
- 53:20Speaker 3: felt cool at the time, but to me, it just
- 53:22Speaker 3: felt like, oh, we are pulling out straws very much
- 53:27Speaker 3: smash class emergency, quickly get me our DJ all right,
- 53:31Speaker 3: final a question here from Jet Gerdam. Hello from Los Alamos,
- 53:35Speaker 3: New Mexico. And since I'm writing this at work quite
- 53:38Speaker 3: literally feet away from the set of the movie Oppenheimer.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Wow.
- 53:41Speaker 3: So this was sent thirteenth of June, so not one
- 53:44Speaker 3: of the film was being made, but when they were
- 53:46Speaker 3: where they made it. Yes, we've been casually picking away
- 53:49Speaker 3: at The Muppet Show on Disney Plus with my kids
- 53:52Speaker 3: an episode here and there in the evenings before bed.
- 53:55Speaker 3: We're not watching any in any particular order, mostly just
- 53:57Speaker 3: whatever celebrity name jumps out at me at the moment
- 54:00Speaker 3: during scrolling. That's what I do as well. When'm thinking throw,
- 54:02Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, I know that person. Yes, it's mostly
- 54:04Speaker 3: the youngest child watching with us, nearly eight years old,
- 54:07Speaker 3: but the older kids pop in and out because they
- 54:08Speaker 3: all secretly love the Muppets, whether they want to admit
- 54:10Speaker 3: it or not. It's been a fun trip for me
- 54:12Speaker 3: since various skits are triggering memories for me from when
- 54:15Speaker 3: I watch them as a kid, and the wife and
- 54:16Speaker 3: I get to explain who the various guest stars are
- 54:18Speaker 3: to this generation. I e. Harvey Korman and Liberacci. Watching
- 54:23Speaker 3: Fozzy not recognized Lana Horne last night got me thinking
- 54:25Speaker 3: about how one Brendan Dando once said that he was
- 54:28Speaker 3: literally the world's biggest Muppet fans. And I said, the
- 54:30Speaker 3: world's biggest, all the world's biggest. But you know I'm
- 54:32Speaker 3: a big fan, you hinted. He always says or something
- 54:34Speaker 3: like that. And now I want to know when he's
- 54:37Speaker 3: going to put us one all these silly distractions of Bob's, Burger's,
- 54:40Speaker 3: Gilmore Girl podcasts and other suggestions, and I finally settle
- 54:43Speaker 3: down on his one true passion and give us that
- 54:44Speaker 3: long away toed the Muppet Show podcast Talking Muppets on
- 54:47Speaker 3: the four and on the Feldt Finger Discount Network.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Wow, something sounds like someone's angling for a position on
- 54:54Speaker 1: the board. Well, these are all valid. I would love
- 54:58Speaker 1: to do a Muppets podcast, is all allerget Yeah, by
- 55:01Speaker 1: all means, try and launch it, But we've got so
- 55:02Speaker 1: many other projects on the go we haven't. Someone are
- 55:04Speaker 1: going to have to get thrown over.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Yeah, So you can't keep adding things. Things have to
- 55:09Speaker 3: make way for other things to come in. Indeed, unless
- 55:11Speaker 3: we can just record shit and pay someone to edit
- 55:14Speaker 3: for us, that we could do that.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Then there's fine, there we go. Yeah, you know how
- 55:17Speaker 1: that happens.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Yes, but that is our mail bag slash news episode
- 55:21Speaker 3: for July twenty twenty five, he had four Finger Discount.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Thank you to everybody who was watching us on YouTube
- 55:26Speaker 3: or listening to us in audio podcasts world. Don't forget
- 55:28Speaker 3: to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Revy.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Do you find this show? Subscribed to us on YouTube?

- 55:35Speaker 1: are on all the questions to be answered today and
- 55:36Speaker 1: give us your answers.
- 55:38Speaker 3: We'd love to read all those and we will respond
- 55:39Speaker 3: to each and every single one of them, and please
