Hefty Ends Orange Bag Recycling Program | Boise News
Hefty’s beloved ReNew Orange Bag program is shutting down nationwide — including in Boise since 2018 — because the company can’t build up recycling infrastructure fast enough to handle demand. This means tricky plastics like candy wrappers and foam packaging will now head to the trash. Since 2018, Boise’s program kept roughly 2,000 tons of plastic out of landfills.
