- 0:00Chapter 41 from the book of Isaiah dear God, please be with
- 0:06us as we read through this chapter and try to understand
- 0:10this. Please give us the Holy Spirit
- 0:12to give us wisdom as we read in Jesus name Amen.
- 0:17So in this chapter, when I read this earlier, there's quite a
- 0:21number of references that I'm going to have it throughout the
- 0:24Bible to get to the point that I see here while I'm reading this.
- 0:31And I prayed to God before when I was reading this as well.
- 0:35But the study Bible, I definitely agree with the study
- 0:39Bible, but I also see that there's another way of looking
- 0:44at this and it doesn't contradict, but it's another one
- 0:48of those prophecies where maybe it had a partial fulfillment,
- 0:52but there's an ultimate fulfillment, and that ultimate
- 0:55fulfillment is in Jesus. So once again, I'm seeing Jesus
- 1:00present in chapter 41. So let's start with this.
- 1:07Sometimes the Bibles can be hard to understand simply because of
- 1:13the translation, because there are various translations.
- 1:17And so I recommend any time. This is what I do and I find it
- 1:23very helpful. So I'm recommending it if you
- 1:27use blueletterbible.org. And when there's something
- 1:32confusing and it doesn't quite make sense, go there.
- 1:37And the reason why is the toolbars that they give you for
- 1:41each line, every sentence is separated.
- 1:44So it helps to read it that way. And then when you click on the
- 1:47tools, it will give you the Masoretic text.
- 1:51It will give you the English translation and you'll see
- 1:55sometimes what you're reading has a different arrangement of
- 1:58words on the left hand side. It will also give you Strong's
- 2:04definition, so you can see how many times and where it is in
- 2:08the Bible. Sometimes in context, when you
- 2:10see multiple sentences with the same word, you can understand it
- 2:14better. It'll give you pronunciations as
- 2:17well. And since we are in the Old
- 2:19Testament, it gives you the original Hebrew words, so you
- 2:23can look up what those words mean.
- 2:25And all of that helps to understand a sentence that can
- 2:29be confusing. So starting right away, First of
- 2:34all, I guess we have this, the very first sentence.
- 2:38Be silent before me, you islands.
- 2:42Let the nations renew their strength.
- 2:44Let them come forward and speak. Let us meet together at the
- 2:49place of judgement. So when I read this, I thought
- 2:54about, I guess it's the it's Matthew.
- 2:58No, it's not not Matthew. What I thought.
- 3:01Oh, Revelation. I have a lot of search bars on
- 3:05here and are where I've looked up a bunch of different things
- 3:10and I know it is in Revelation, but I'm trying to find out where
- 3:15I saved that because I have so many different tabs opened.
- 3:22OK, well, let's try this one. OK, be silent before me you
- 3:26islands. So in the Book of Revelation
- 3:30chapter 16, it says every island fled away and the mountains
- 3:37could not be found. Now this was this is at the time
- 3:41that Jesus returns. And when you, when you have the
- 3:45island fled away, like islands don't run, but people are, we
- 3:50know that people are scared because they see Jesus
- 3:55returning. And so anyway, I want to read
- 4:01that this is actually during the wrath, and it says the great
- 4:07city split into three parts and the cities of the nations
- 4:10collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great
- 4:13and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his
- 4:18wrath. Every island fled away and the
- 4:20mountains could not be found. Now that actually could be
- 4:23something literal, but when he talks about to the islands, it's
- 4:28basically about to the people of the islands.
- 4:33And then let the nations renew their strength.
- 4:36Let them come forward and speak. Let us meet at the place of
- 4:41judgment. So this sounds like the time of
- 4:43judgment, which the time that Jesus arrives is the time of
- 4:47judgment. So also in Isaiah 42, verse 4.
- 4:55Let's see if I can find out, OK? He will not, he will not falter
- 4:59or be discouraged till He establishes justice on earth.
- 5:05In His teaching. The islands will put their hope.
- 5:08So a teaching that islands can put in their hope.
- 5:15To me this is talking and establishing justice on earth.
- 5:18To me, this is no one other than Jesus.
- 5:21So when Jesus first came, he taught everyone and his word is
- 5:27what's documented in the New Testament.
- 5:29And he taught everyone about about God's Kingdom and how to
- 5:33be there and about the salvation like he that he was bringing to
- 5:39the earth. And so that's the hope that
- 5:42everyone has, like all the islands have the hope in Jesus.
- 5:45And he will be it says he will not falter or be discouraged
- 5:50till he establishes justice on earth.
- 5:52So again, that's that's use Isaiah chapter 42, verse 4.
- 5:59So, but I don't know how to do this without getting it
- 6:04confusing. So maybe I'll read, I'll read
- 6:08what I'll read through this whole thing, and then I'll read
- 6:11what the study Bible says, and then I'll go back to the things
- 6:14that I noticed when I was doing this.
- 6:17OK, So be silent before me, you islands.
- 6:19Let the nations renew their strength.
- 6:21Let them come forward and speak. Let us meet together at the
- 6:25place of judgment. Who has stirred up one from the
- 6:28East, calling him in righteousness to his service?
- 6:32He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him.
- 6:37He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with
- 6:41his bow. He pursues them and moves on
- 6:45unscathed by a path his feet have not travelled before.
- 6:50Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the
- 6:54generations from the beginning? I, the Lord with the first of
- 7:00them, and with the last. I am He.
- 7:06The islands have seen it and fear the ends of the earth
- 7:11tremble. They approach and come forward.
- 7:14They help each other. They say to their companions.
- 7:17Be strong. The metal worker encourages the
- 7:20Goldsmith, and the one who smooths with hammer spurs on the
- 7:24one who strikes the anvil. One says of the wielding it is
- 7:28good, The other nails down the idol so it will not topple.
- 7:34But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I've have have
- 7:39chosen you, descendants of Abraham, my friend, I took you
- 7:44from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners.
- 7:48I called you, I said you are my servant.
- 7:52I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
- 7:56So do not fear, for I am with you.
- 7:58Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
- 8:01I will strengthen you and help you.
- 8:04I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
- 8:07All who Rage Against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced.
- 8:11Those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
- 8:15Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them.
- 8:19Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.
- 8:22For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand
- 8:28and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you.
- 8:31Do not be afraid, you warm Jacob, little Israel.
- 8:34Do not fear, for I myself will help you declare.
- 8:37There's the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
- 8:40See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp,
- 8:44with many teeth. You will thrush the mountains
- 8:47and crush them and reduce the hills to chaff.
- 8:52You will winnow them. The wind will pick up.
- 8:55Pick them up and a Gale will be blown.
- 8:58A Gale will blow them away, but you will rejoice in the Lord and
- 9:04glory in the Holy One of Israel. The poor and needy search for
- 9:08water, but there is none. Their tongues are parched with
- 9:11thirst, but I, the Lord, will answer them.
- 9:15I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
- 9:17I will make rivers flow on barren heights and springs
- 9:21within valleys. I will turn the desert into
- 9:24pools of water and the parched ground into springs.
- 9:28I will put in the desert the cedar, the Acacia, the Myrtle,
- 9:33and the olive. I will set junipers in the
- 9:35wasteland, the fir and Cypress together, so that people may see
- 9:40and know, may consider and understand that the hand of the
- 9:44Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created
- 9:48it. Present your case, says the
- 9:50Lord, Set forth your arguments, says Jacob's king.
- 9:54Tell us, you idols, what is going to happen.
- 9:56Tell us what the former things were so that we may consider
- 10:00them and know their final outcome, or declare to us the
- 10:04things to come. Tell us what the future holds,
- 10:07so that we may know. So we may know that you are
- 10:11gods. Do something, whether good or
- 10:14bad, so that we may be dismayed and filled with fear.
- 10:17But you are less than nothing, and your works are utterly
- 10:21worthless. Whatever whoever chooses you is
- 10:24detestable. I have stirred up one from the
- 10:28north, and he comes one from Rise, the rising sun who calls
- 10:33on my name. He treads on rulers as if they
- 10:36were mortar, as if he were a Potter treading the clay.
- 10:40Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know, or
- 10:44beforehand so we could say he was right?
- 10:46No one told us of this. No one foretold, no one heard
- 10:53any words from you. I was the 1st to tell Zion.
- 10:57Look here, here they are. I gave to Jerusalem a messenger
- 11:03of good news. I look, but there is no one, no
- 11:07one among the gods to give counsel, so no one to give
- 11:11answer when I ask them. See, they are all false.
- 11:15Their deeds amount to nothing. Their images are but wind and
- 11:19confusion. So that's the end of chapter 41.
- 11:24So I will read what the study Bible says.
- 11:27So who was the one from the east?
- 11:29This is what the study Bible says.
- 11:30He he was Cyrus the great ruler of Persia, located in an area of
- 11:36present day Iran. This was not only east of Israel
- 11:41but even further east of Babylon where the Jews languished in
- 11:44exile before Cyrus came to power.
- 11:47The Persians conquered the Babylonians in 539 BC, and soon
- 11:52thereafter Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to their
- 11:55homeland. So that gives the explanation
- 12:00for who was the one from the East from the study Bible.
- 12:05And So what I was looking at when I read this was that the
- 12:09one from the east could also be Jesus because Jesus comes from
- 12:14the east. And let's see where can I start
- 12:21with that one? So first I talked about the
- 12:23islands being people, being people personified.
- 12:27And then let us meet together at the place of judgment.
- 12:31So it sounds like judgment is, you know, this this statement,
- 12:37be silent before me, you islands.
- 12:39This is talking to other people besides Israel.
- 12:42Let the nations renew their strengths.
- 12:44So this is talking about on a broader base, a broader group of
- 12:48people. And that's why I, you know,
- 12:52Cyrus could have fulfilled some of it, but it's not like a great
- 12:55perfect match for Cyrus. So maybe, you know, maybe it was
- 13:01a foreshadowing. But again, the ultimate
- 13:06satisfaction of this prophecy is, is Jesus.
- 13:10So Jesus is going, there's a valley, it's called a valley of
- 13:14decision. It's in the in the end, that's
- 13:19where the they they meet in the valley where the final battle is
- 13:23with Jesus. And so that's why I also think
- 13:27about about this being Jesus and Jesus also comes from the East
- 13:34when it when the Bible talks about that.
- 13:39Here's the other thing about he, he brings righteousness who is
- 13:43stirred up one one from the East calling him in righteousness to
- 13:47his service. I started to say that it was a
- 13:51translation thing that kind of gets us mixed up.
- 13:54So I want to read about who is stirred up.
- 13:58One from the East, calling him in righteousness to his service.
- 14:03So another, and when you look it up in the blue letter Bible, it
- 14:10says who has aroused one from the east whom he calls and
- 14:16righteousness to his feet. He delivers up nations before
- 14:21him and subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his
- 14:25sword as the wind driven chaff with his bow.
- 14:29Now this could be on opposite an opposing force.
- 14:34However, in the end times it does talk about the someone
- 14:38coming from the north, not necessarily the east.
- 14:42So maybe that's why this made sense to say this was Cyrus.
- 14:47But then when I look at it, Jesus comes from the east.
- 14:51It says like as as it's seen from the east when lightning
- 14:54comes that all will see him. And I'm trying to find the
- 14:57verses that talk about Jesus coming from the east.
- 15:02And again, I have too many to oh here it is.
- 15:05OK in Ezekiel chapter 43. I will need to write that in
- 15:09here so I don't lose that next time.
- 15:13Ezekiel 43 verse 2, so it says, and I saw this is in a vision
- 15:24Ezekiel had and I saw the glory of the Lord, the glory of the
- 15:29God of Israel coming from the east.
- 15:33His voice was like the roar of rushing waters and the land was
- 15:39radiant with his glory. Well, that is none other than
- 15:43Jesus obviously, and we get confirmation in Scripture about
- 15:48that as well. If we go to the the and the Book
- 15:52of Revelation, because in Revelation, I think it's maybe
- 15:56Revelation one, it talks about Jesus's voice and being like the
- 16:02rushing waters. So I need to find out where that
- 16:06is. I'm kind of looking through this
- 16:09right now. OK, Revelation 115 His feet were
- 16:15like bronze glowing in a furnace and his voice was like the sound
- 16:22of rushing waters. So again, I think this could
- 16:26possibly be Jesus that is being referred to that and it's again
- 16:31another translation issue because it it says who has
- 16:38aroused. Well, the word aroused is
- 16:40actually or, and it means to awaken, waken up, rising up,
- 16:47arising, a master to rouse oneself, awaken insight.
- 16:52So this could potentially be referring to Jesus, you know,
- 16:57he's finally had enough of the people coming against Israel and
- 17:03he's coming in righteousness. And so if you if I'm not making
- 17:08sense with this explanation, you might want to look this up on
- 17:11your own and read it too. So and then remember that God
- 17:17turns over all authority to Jesus.
- 17:22So also in that's another thing I'm going to read through
- 17:26Matthew 1218. So God also refers to Jesus as
- 17:33his servant. And I'll just read this section
- 17:38of Matthew chapter 12, verses 15 through 21 because it kind of
- 17:44also mirrors what is stated in Isaiah.
- 17:49OK, It says aware of this, Jesus with Jesus withdrew from that
- 17:55place. This is Matthew chapter 12,
- 17:56verse 15. A large crowd followed him and
- 18:00he healed all who were I'll. He warned them not to tell
- 18:04others about him. This was to fulfill what was
- 18:08spoken through the prophet Isaiah.
- 18:11Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom
- 18:17I delight. I will put my spirit on him, and
- 18:22he will proclaim justice to the nation's.
- 18:26He will not quarrel or cry out. No one will hear his voice in
- 18:32the streets. A bruised Reed he will not
- 18:35break, and a smoldering Wick he will not snuff out till he has
- 18:40brought justice through to victory in his name.
- 18:43The nations will put their hope. That's actually going to be in
- 18:46the next chapter. 42 But at the same time this is, you know, he
- 18:52God calls Jesus is the servant whom God loves.
- 18:58The Spirit of God is on him and he the nation's put their hope
- 19:03in him. So again, like the end of this
- 19:06chapter I think is when it talked about the nation's
- 19:08putting their hope in him. So again, this just really seems
- 19:12like Jesus. So who is stirred up one from
- 19:15the east calling him and righteousness to his service.
- 19:19God gives all authority to Jesus.
- 19:23So I do want to read about that too, because I'm going to close
- 19:29up these, the ones that I've already reviewed, so I don't
- 19:33reread them and find where they are.
- 19:38Let's see I'm trying to find the one about OK, another verse that
- 19:47is Matthew 24, verse 27 for as lightning that comes from the
- 19:54east is visible even in the West, so will be the coming of
- 19:59the Son of Man. So again, the Son of man comes
- 20:02from the east. This the enemy is coming from
- 20:06the north. So I want to that comes up later
- 20:10and so again. You know, maybe this meant Cyrus
- 20:14back then or a double fulfillment where it actually
- 20:17means Jesus. And here's another thing, in the
- 20:20Book of Revelation chapter 16 verse 12, this is during wrath.
- 20:27The 6th Angel poured out his bowl on the great river
- 20:30Euphrates and it's water was dried up to prepare the way for
- 20:34the kings from the east. And so this is another event
- 20:41where there will be other people in the future outside of Cyrus
- 20:47coming from the east by at the Euphrates River.
- 20:51So that's another. This one is definitely about end
- 20:56times in Revelation 16. If you want to read from that,
- 21:00read more about it. And then there is.
- 21:13I still, let's see, I'm not finding what I was trying to OK
- 21:18given authority. So in Daniel Chapter 7 verse 14,
- 21:29it says he was given authority, glory, and sovereign power.
- 21:35All nations and peoples of every language worshipped Him.
- 21:40His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass
- 21:44away, and His Kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
- 21:49So then we think, OK, well who is he talking about?
- 21:52If we go to the prior verse, it says In my vision at night I
- 21:55looked, and there before me was one like a son of man coming
- 22:02with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of
- 22:06Days and was led to his presence.
- 22:09Then, it says he was given authority, glory and sovereign
- 22:12power. All nations and people of every
- 22:15language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting
- 22:19dominion that will not pass away, and His Kingdom is one
- 22:21that will never be destroyed. Well, that's talking about Jesus
- 22:26and about all authority being given to Jesus.
- 22:31So that's where it seems like he hands like God hands all the
- 22:37nations over to him. God gives all of the authority
- 22:40to Jesus and subdues kings before him.
- 22:43He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with
- 22:47his bow. He pursues them and moves on,
- 22:50unscathed by a path his feet have never traveled before.
- 22:54Now there is no one. Several times in the scripture
- 22:58it says that there was no one to help him.
- 23:01It was God alone, his arm protecting Israel in the very
- 23:06last days. So that is the.
- 23:10Beginning part of this chapter 41 So then this other verse that
- 23:17says who has done this and carried it through calling forth
- 23:20the generations from the beginning?
- 23:22Well, obviously that's God. And it says I the Lord with the
- 23:27first of them and with the last I am he.
- 23:31So this is the eternal God. And so is this again saying, you
- 23:36know, this is God doing this, this is the Son of God doing
- 23:39this, that just like Jesus said in Revelation, I am the alpha
- 23:43and the Omega. And is this where it says I the
- 23:47Lord with the first of them. So Jesus was the first fruit and
- 23:52with the last. So he's also ushering in the
- 23:56very last, you know, the at the the last days, at the end of
- 24:00time when Jesus brings, you know, saves people.
- 24:05There's the 144,000 from Israel, the remnant, and then there's
- 24:11also the resurrection of those who are dead and in Christ,
- 24:15those who have the Holy Spirit. So and then this is another the
- 24:20next verse makes me think about Revelation about the islands
- 24:23fleeing again that what the Book of Revelation said and it says
- 24:28the islands have seen it and fear the ends of the earth
- 24:31tremble when Jesus returns. There is a fear that comes over
- 24:36people because they realize who who it is that's coming.
- 24:42And that's like in Revelation 16.
- 24:44It says every island fled away in the mountains could not be
- 24:47found. So there's something.
- 24:50Disastrous in the in that wrath that happens to the earth and.
- 24:58So in. The study Bible it says where
- 25:00are the ends of the earth. Here the ends of the earth refer
- 25:04to the boundaries of lands captured by Cyrus of Persia.
- 25:08They included areas from present day Afghanistan in the east to
- 25:13Egypt in the southwest and Turkey in the northwest.
- 25:18So that is an interpretation. I also see this chapter as
- 25:23something greater than that, that it's talking about all
- 25:26nations, so that it's talking about something like Isaiah
- 25:30didn't even know what he was speaking probably at that time.
- 25:34He didn't comprehend what the world would be today.
- 25:38And so I think this applies to today just because there's a, if
- 25:44you look at just really what is being stated in this chapter,
- 25:48first of all, it talks about if that is Jesus that returns.
- 25:51It's talking about fear, but then there's encouragement.
- 25:55And then it's talking about Israel being a friend of God's.
- 25:59And then he's coming against many enemies.
- 26:02He's saving Israel, but he's like turning around Israel so
- 26:07that Israel then defeats the enemy.
- 26:09So this didn't happen with Cyrus.
- 26:13And so that wouldn't that be like more of a last time?
- 26:16And then it talks about a complete restoration of the
- 26:18land. I don't think Israel has ever
- 26:21had restorations like rivers flowing from barren heights or
- 26:26springs coming up in the valleys or deserts turning into pools of
- 26:29water. Those things are more like the
- 26:33restoration that's described in the Millennium reign of Christ,
- 26:37the thousand year period that Jesus reigns.
- 26:40And then it talks about set forth your arguments, says
- 26:44Jacob's king. Well, who is Jacob's king?
- 26:49Actually, You know, when all of this happened, when Isaiah was
- 26:52talking about this, both of the kingdoms were being destroyed,
- 26:56the northern tribe of Judah as well as the southern tribe of
- 26:59Judah. And after that there were no
- 27:00more kings. So now he's talking about a
- 27:03future king. So this is definitely Jesus and
- 27:06set forth your arguments that's putting your case in front of
- 27:11this is judgment. You know, this is this is like a
- 27:14court of law, a judgment. And then there was something
- 27:18that stood out to me too, was that it says so we may know that
- 27:23you are gods, it says are declared to us.
- 27:26I mean, it's coming through an argument.
- 27:28It's talking about these things that people are calling odds
- 27:30gods. And if it's when Jesus returns,
- 27:34there's something that someone mentioned and it's so true about
- 27:38where we are today with AIAI is just coming into being and it's
- 27:47going to only increase. And it's 'cause it learns from
- 27:51itself and it, and it's going to, at some point, theoretically
- 27:57what people are saying, it will become smarter than everybody
- 28:00because it learns from itself and it learns from the smartest.
- 28:03So someday it's going to be this really, it'll be better than the
- 28:09way it is starting out right now.
- 28:11And already today I know people who are asking AI questions and
- 28:18who are getting answers from AI or seeking AI.
- 28:22And so I think about that and not only I but others who are
- 28:26Christians are thinking about that.
- 28:28Are are we making AI into a mini God where it has all the
- 28:34answers? There's a lot of people that are
- 28:37sourcing it for a lot of different things and to rely
- 28:42upon that. But what happens if AI gets
- 28:45hijacked by something evil and then it gives answers that are
- 28:51contrary to what's in the Bible And then people believe that
- 28:56because they've they've become so attached to it and it always
- 29:02has the right answers. Or maybe, you know, when you
- 29:04start out, it can you can verify these answers and you're like,
- 29:07OK, it's right on this. Like this is true.
- 29:10This is good. You know, I can use this.
- 29:12But then there's going to give me a point where you don't even
- 29:14know. And if you go to AI for the
- 29:17answer and you're not sure, especially like if somebody
- 29:20hasn't read the Bible and they go to AI for it at some point,
- 29:24if someone who programs these is not a follower of God, which is
- 29:29probably the way it is, then do you think they're going to want
- 29:35people to find the one true God? And are they going to have AI
- 29:39programmed to give glory to God? So that's just something that we
- 29:47are at the very beginning of, something that could be kind of
- 29:51scary when you think about it. And is this the image that is,
- 29:57that is spoken of in the last times?
- 29:59Is AI the image that has a mouth to speak where it's given life?
- 30:07Could it be like any of these robots, these AI robots that
- 30:11are, you know, an image, a thought of a creation of man
- 30:16that is given words to speak They're.
- 30:19Already. Introducing like, you know, fake
- 30:24robot people like for relationships with people.
- 30:28OK. So I mean, it's really getting
- 30:30bizarre, like all the things that AI is providing solutions
- 30:36to, which are really ultimately they're very troublesome
- 30:43solutions because it takes away from humanity and it takes away
- 30:47from God's creation. And it's mankind creating
- 30:51something of their own. And if we don't think that is a
- 30:54problem, mankind is sinful. Mankind is not perfect.
- 31:00Mankind makes mistakes. So if you use mankind to create
- 31:05these things, it's only going to lead to a disaster.
- 31:10And is that what happens eventually when Jesus returns is
- 31:15that AI gets to this level and it's going to accelerate really
- 31:19quickly. It's just like anything else
- 31:21that if you've lived through different times, like before
- 31:24there were, there were, you know, I mean, just think about
- 31:27like vehicles. I mean, when there were like, of
- 31:31course, and buggies are, you know, happening and then there
- 31:34was the automobiles and then there were the first computers
- 31:39and then there were laptops. And then there were phones and
- 31:44there were landlines and then there were mobile phones and and
- 31:48then you can do everything from your phone.
- 31:50And just the evolution of technology and how quickly it
- 31:56all changed and how quickly we are seeing things happen right
- 32:00now. So it's it's really something to
- 32:05be aware of and make sure that you don't rely on it too much
- 32:09because in verse 24, it says, but you are less than nothing
- 32:15and your works are utterly worthless.
- 32:18Whoever chooses you is detestable.
- 32:23So, and he's talking about an idol.
- 32:26So it like if somebody chooses AI, like that's detestable,
- 32:31something to think of, you know, could that be the mark of the
- 32:36beast? Because people are not going to
- 32:38be not going to be allowed to buy or sell without it.
- 32:42So there's going to be something, you know, whether
- 32:44it's a chip or something people, you know, they're speculating
- 32:47right now about what that can be, but it's, it's going to be,
- 32:52well, I can't buy anything unless I have this.
- 32:55So I need this. And if you choose that and you
- 32:58get whatever this future mark is going to be, there is no
- 33:04forgiveness for that. It tells, it tells you very
- 33:08clearly in the Bible that you can't repent of that.
- 33:12Once you do that, you knowingly make that you are separating
- 33:15yourself from God. You're choosing something else.
- 33:18I guess you're choosing this idol and if this idol is AI and
- 33:22this idol requires you to take a chip and you choose that, you
- 33:26can't undo that once you choose that.
- 33:29So this is a very a warning for all people that we're going to
- 33:35know when that comes about. And I think that's really a
- 33:40ultimately what God hates the most is idolatry is worshipping
- 33:44something else, like something else is more important than God
- 33:48that's turning to something else.
- 33:50And I definitely can see how we would be turning to AI where it
- 33:53would be more than what we view God as because people, a lot of
- 33:58people don't even have a relationship with God.
- 34:02So then it also talks about, I've stirred up one from the
- 34:05north and it seems like there's always in the Bible.
- 34:09It seems like areas or geographical areas always have
- 34:13the same spiritual influence. It's very weird.
- 34:17I mean, it's something that I just paid attention to as I was
- 34:20studying, but these territories, these actual land territories
- 34:26have historically always been enemies of Israel.
- 34:31Like maybe there's momentary peace, but they always later
- 34:35came after them again. So it's very, very, very
- 34:39repetitious. And so just like Assyria was
- 34:43came from the north. So here Isaiah is talking about
- 34:48I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes one from the
- 34:53rising sun who calls on my name, and it says, who was this one
- 34:58from the north? This was Cyrus.
- 35:00North and east the rising sun are combined.
- 35:03Cyrus originated in the east but conquered a number of kingdoms
- 35:08north of Babylon early in his reign, and from the perspective
- 35:12of those living in Jerusalem, invasions came primarily from
- 35:16the north. Cyrus appeared appears in the
- 35:18Bible as a deliverer of God's people, and here he is described
- 35:23as a ruler who called on God's name.
- 35:26Historical sources show that Cyrus honored the gods of all
- 35:30nations he conquered so. That could be.
- 35:36Could be a double fulfillment or does it mean like?
- 35:40God stirs up. Somebody from the north, this,
- 35:42this one coming from the north, and then one from the rising
- 35:46sun, who calls on my name or who proclaims my name or calls out
- 35:51to proclaim. That's another way that this is
- 35:55stated. And.
- 35:59Let's see. I don't know, I I don't have
- 36:05that verse. Called up here, but it's that's
- 36:07another one to look up in the blue letter Bible is that verse
- 36:11because you'll see that there is like a different meaning where
- 36:15one who rises up and it says he treads on rulers as if they were
- 36:21mortar as if he were a Potter treading the clay.
- 36:25Now here where the where that translation, it is the way it is
- 36:31read like this. It seems like, OK, that can't be
- 36:35Jesus because it says as if he was a Potter.
- 36:40And we we know that that is often referred to God as being
- 36:46the Potter. But then, you know, so it could
- 36:51refer to someone else. But then I'm trying to find that
- 36:56verse that I want to find. So it is verse 25.
- 37:03I'm just going to blue letter Bible because this will help me
- 37:05when I read this. So it says.
- 37:08I have. I have.
- 37:09Aroused is 1 translation, but that's really or which means to
- 37:15awaken or aroused. So this is like I was saying was
- 37:17Jesus want to awaken or aroused? Not necessarily Jesus, but to
- 37:23awaken one one from the north. So that's just a direction that
- 37:27it comes and he has come. Now this, this one from the NASB
- 37:33says he has come from the rising of the sun.
- 37:38So that's talking about from the east.
- 37:40So it does seem like that one might be Cyrus.
- 37:47And that he's like. He's conquering all these
- 37:50places. Who told of this from the
- 37:54beginning so we could know or beforehand so we could say He
- 37:58was right. No one told of this.
- 38:00No one foretold it. No one heard any words from you.
- 38:06I was the 1st to tell Zion. Look, here they are.
- 38:11I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good news.
- 38:16Now this made me think about Jesus.
- 38:19Jesus was the messenger of good news.
- 38:21He was the one proclaiming about God, salvation, his Kingdom.
- 38:27So I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good news.
- 38:31I look, but there is no no one, no one among the gods to give
- 38:37counsel, no one to give answer when I asked them.
- 38:42See, they are all false. Their deeds amount to nothing.
- 38:45Their images are but wind and confusion and we know that, you
- 38:50know, like Satan is the author of confusion.
- 38:53So it's just confusing people, these things that are in their
- 38:59lives, the idols, and also, you know, maybe it's the AI of
- 39:03today. So let's go.
- 39:05Back to what the study. Bible says why talk about those
- 39:09who make idols? In a world where people
- 39:12worshipped many different deities, the Lord regularly
- 39:15asked his people to compare Him, the one true God, with false
- 39:19gods. Here we see the whole world
- 39:22trembling in response to the Lord's mighty actions.
- 39:26But instead of turning to the true God, the idol makers try to
- 39:30console each other and even try to anchor their idols so that
- 39:34they will not be shaken by God's shock by God's shock waves.
- 39:39Now again, the earth is supposed to have this earthquake when
- 39:43Jesus returns and it talks about everything shaking at that time.
- 39:49And so I I do think that again, this.
- 39:54Seems to be. More about Jesus and more about
- 39:58the end times than it is that immediate future that Isaiah was
- 40:04preaching about. So the next question was, why
- 40:13did God comfort the Jews? After all they had done, God
- 40:17called the Israelites to be his people from the time of Abraham
- 40:20to the time of their captivity. His love for them was based on
- 40:24his own redeeming character and was not lessened by the sinful
- 40:28acts of his wayward children. Whether in judgment or comfort,
- 40:32he sought their good. And that's something that, you
- 40:36know, God is just that's you can't get away from punishment
- 40:44when someone is just because if someone never punished
- 40:51wrongdoers, then they wouldn't necessarily be just, would they?
- 40:56So it's something that a lot of people don't like to think about
- 41:02and they, a lot of people will say, well, the, the God that's
- 41:05talked about in the Old Testament was very judgmental
- 41:08and all, you know, more of a negative thing.
- 41:10But the thing about it is Jesus, when he returns, God's the same.
- 41:17He hasn't changed. He's just delayed his judgment
- 41:22and he sent Jesus to be our Savior so that we don't have to
- 41:27go through the wrath if we turn and recognize, turn to God,
- 41:33repent of our sins. That means turn our minds away
- 41:36from thinking the sin is good and turn to God.
- 41:41Seek him and be protected by Jesus the Son who his death on
- 41:47the cross will protect us. The blood that he shed, the
- 41:51blood that came when he died on the cross, is what makes
- 41:55atonement for our sins. It's the law that God
- 41:58established back in the Old Old Testament for a substitute
- 42:02sacrifice. And that's what Jesus was, a
- 42:05substitute sacrifice that that fulfilled the law that was
- 42:12required for sin. So instead of us dying, Jesus
- 42:16did so that we could have eternal life.
- 42:21So let's see. Why did God call his people a
- 42:26worm? It's obvious from the context
- 42:28that God was not scolding His people while they were in exile.
- 42:33They would consider themselves insignificant as worms.
- 42:36The Lord was comforting them and offering New Hope.
- 42:39Israel may have been little and insignificant compared to the
- 42:43great nations battling for power, but God would still use
- 42:47her in mighty ways. What was a threshing sledge?
- 42:52After grain was harvested harvested, it was usually dried
- 42:56and taken to a threshing floor to be crushed in order to
- 42:59separate the stalks and husk from the edible kernels.
- 43:03This was done with sledges, sleds, or sledges drawn by
- 43:07animals. Not only would the weight of the
- 43:10sledges crush the grain, but some sledges were also fitted
- 43:15with sharp teeth to RIP the kernels of grain from the husk.
- 43:19This was an image of great power.
- 43:22Little Israel would become a large sledge threshing the
- 43:27mountains, probably symbolic of the nations.
- 43:31So again, when did this happen? I mean, I think this is like
- 43:36maybe maybe this is happening right now.
- 43:39Like part of it because Israel's been having some success against
- 43:44first they were. Destroyed a.
- 43:49Significant about 1000 people on October 7th, but after that
- 43:54they've been they've been praising God and they've been
- 44:01giving glory to God and they've made some moves against their
- 44:06enemies where they've been successful.
- 44:08So I don't know if this I don't know where we are in all of
- 44:13this, but a lot of what's happening today does seem like
- 44:17what is written in the Bible prophecy.
- 44:19So it's a time definitely to be watching and a time for us to be
- 44:24prepared and make sure that our relationship is good with God
- 44:29and that we seek him if we haven't already, but seek him
- 44:33now because we don't know when when this is when Jesus will
- 44:38return and or when we will die. You know, as a result,
- 44:42especially when war's going on, that makes it even more risky
- 44:46about knowing when your death you could be in great health,
- 44:48but your life could be taken because of something with war
- 44:51related. So when did God turn the desert
- 44:55into pools of water? We must look at these prophecies
- 44:58as as they relate to spiritual, historical and future Kingdom
- 45:02realities. Spiritually, God turns a dry
- 45:05heart into a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
- 45:10Historically, it may refer to the return of the Jews in their
- 45:13homeland after Babylonian captivity or in the 20th
- 45:17century. But God also uses these kinds of
- 45:20imageries to describe a future time when the earth itself would
- 45:25be transformed and a future Kingdom will be established.
- 45:29And that's in Revelation chapter 21, verse one.
- 45:36Who was this one? We read that already.
- 45:38And then why did Potters tread the clay?
- 45:40To remove air bubbles? Potters found clay in the
- 45:44ground, added water and some fine sand to get the right
- 45:48consistency, then removed the water.
- 45:50They then stomped over it to release any air pockets that
- 45:54would weaken the final product. Builders used a similar process
- 45:58in making mortar for construction with stones or
- 46:01brink or bricks and that's found in the book of Naham after three
- 46:06verse 14. So a lot of these things, I
- 46:11think they it did refer to Cyrus, but then I don't know
- 46:16that I still have a very clear understanding.
- 46:19I think there's still some parts what I would need to study it
- 46:22longer and really meditate on the word and ask God for clarity
- 46:26on these, because it does seem like a lot of it does point to a
- 46:30future time, a time when Jesus returns from a lot of the words
- 46:35that are used in here. So anyway, take a look and see
- 46:38what you think and use the blue letter Bible to dig deeper into
- 46:43the word 01 thing I forgot to mention was I was going to wrap
- 46:47this up and this it's not that short anyway, but if you search
- 46:52from the north, it, it often talks about I I think even in
- 46:57the future it's going to be from the north.
- 47:00There will be these enemies. That come.
- 47:04Against Israel and like I was saying before, it's kind of like
- 47:08the same land. And there was something that I
- 47:11discovered that was kind of interesting.
- 47:14First of all, Oh gosh, I don't even know if I can find it now
- 47:19because I I had so many and and it this will be a really long
- 47:25podcast if I read through all of this, because this is something
- 47:29you might want to do is just search from the north because I
- 47:32don't know that I'm going to necessarily find what I was
- 47:36wanted to talk about. Well, here's there.
- 47:42Is a little bit more that I want to talk about.
- 47:44So back later on in Isaiah, in chapter 49 verse 8, I have this
- 47:52highlighted. This is what the Lord says, in
- 47:54the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of
- 47:57salvation I will help you, I will keep you, and I will make
- 48:03you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and
- 48:08to reassign its desolate inheritance.
- 48:12Say to the captives, come out and to those in darkness be
- 48:15free. They will feed beside the
- 48:17roadsides and find pasture on the barren hill.
- 48:20Now this is the restoration of Israel.
- 48:22It's being talked about and is in the day of salvation.
- 48:26That is when Jesus returns, and Israel will be a covenant for
- 48:32the people. I will keep you and will make
- 48:36you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and
- 48:41to reassign its desolate inheritances.
- 48:47So we ultimately become a part of Israel.
- 48:51So the ones who are against Israel right now, you might want
- 48:54to rethink that because if you are going to be in God's
- 48:58Kingdom, then we are all going to become a part of Israel and
- 49:02we're actually going to settle in land of the Israelites.
- 49:06So it's it's something that probably is a good time to read
- 49:15the Bible and to find out. But anyway, search on if you
- 49:22want to get more into this. OK, so it relates.
- 49:27This is this was what was interesting to me and I can't
- 49:30find the I can't find it right now.
- 49:32But when it talks about coming from the north, it talks about
- 49:37iron and bronze. And what that did is it made me
- 49:42think about the book of Daniel. And in the book of Daniel, when
- 49:48he has this vision, he talks about the.
- 49:55Let's see, I want to read this. OK.
- 50:00Your Majesty looked. And before you stood a large
- 50:04statue, an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance.
- 50:08The head was made of gold, its chest and arms of silver, its
- 50:13belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, and its feet iron
- 50:18and partly baked clay. And so he interprets it, and he
- 50:25says that the first Kingdom, so the head is Nebuchadnezzar, he
- 50:31was the king of Babylon. And then a third Kingdom 1 of
- 50:34bronze will rule over the whole earth.
- 50:39And so then there was a fourth Kingdom that will be as strong
- 50:44as iron. So when he talked about the
- 50:48nations coming from the north like they are, there's a piece
- 50:52part of scripture that talks about them being bronze and iron
- 50:58again, I was, I was thinking that reminded me of that statue
- 51:02and those kingdoms and those kingdoms and what they
- 51:05represent, which I no, I can't even find the drawing that I'm
- 51:10looking for in here. This is I should have that page
- 51:14marked, but I will maybe find it in a minute and the about the
- 51:21dream because I think it's significant and what chapter it
- 51:24was, it was in chapter actually Chapter 7.
- 51:27So the head of gold was Babylon, the chest and arms and silver
- 51:36that was like Persia, the belly and thighs of bronze that was,
- 51:41it says Grecian. But it it's really Yevon and
- 51:46it's the Ionians. So I had to look up who are the
- 51:48Ionians? And the Ionians are where Turkey
- 51:53is today. So we had like the Babylonians,
- 51:56that's where Iraq is today. The Medes and the Persians are
- 52:01where Iran is today, like the, I guess the modern day for that
- 52:07land. So modern day Babylonia is Iraq,
- 52:11modern day Persia or Medes is Iran.
- 52:16And then modern day Greek or it's not Greece, it's actually
- 52:21Turkey. So I find it kind of
- 52:24interesting. And then the other one it says
- 52:28Roman. So it's all like the Roman
- 52:31entity was the iron. So I I think.
- 52:36It might. Be repetitive, it might be a
- 52:41clue of the alliances that are going to happen in the end times
- 52:47and because it seems like the lands still come up, they still
- 52:57are allies. There's like a there's another
- 53:00verse too that made me think about this.
- 53:04In Jeremiah chapter 49 verse 35, it says this is what the Lord
- 53:08Almighty says. See, I will break the bow of
- 53:12Elam, the mainstay of their might.
- 53:16So Elam is another name for modern day Iran, and this is
- 53:24what it says I will bring against.
- 53:29I'm going to just use the. Modern day.
- 53:31Iran, the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, I will
- 53:35scatter them to the four winds, and there will not be a nation
- 53:39where Elams exiles do not go. I will shatter Elam before their
- 53:46foes, before those who want to kill them.
- 53:50I will bring disaster on them, even my fierce anger, declares
- 53:54the Lord. I will pursue them with the
- 53:56sword until I have made an end of them.
- 54:01I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials,
- 54:06declares the Lord. Yet, I will restore the fortunes
- 54:11of Elam in days to come. So right now, Elam is not in
- 54:20fortunes right now. I mean, there's some that have
- 54:22money, but the poor people who are living there right now, they
- 54:26are not having water. There's reports of that.
- 54:29They're losing their electricity.
- 54:31There's a lot of things that are happening right now in August
- 54:3514th, 2025, where these people are suffering greatly right now.
- 54:43So God does have a restoration plan.
- 54:45Anyone from any nation who turns to God can be saved so and
- 54:51acknowledges Jesus as the Son of God.
- 54:54There is forgiveness for sins, and there is a place in God's
- 54:57Kingdom and. Then it.
- 55:01Says in Zechariah Chapter 9, verse 13, I will bend Judah as I
- 55:06bend my bow and fill it with Ephraim.
- 55:09So God's using his people. Judah and Ephraim are part of
- 55:13the tribes. I will rouse your son's Zion
- 55:17against your son's Greece. But it's really Yevon, which is
- 55:23really Ionia, which is really Turkey.
- 55:26So he's going to bring against, this is basically what it's I'm
- 55:31seeing is Israel against Turkey and make you like a warrior's
- 55:38sword. So Israel's going to come
- 55:41against Turkey at some point in Zechariah Chapter 9 verse 13.
- 55:45Now listen to this. What happens in verse 14 of
- 55:48Zechariah? Then the Lord will appear over
- 55:51them. His arrow will flash like
- 55:55lightning. Remember how it says He appears
- 55:58in the East just like lightning does from the east?
- 56:01OK, then the Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet.
- 56:05He will March in the storms of the South and the Lord Almighty
- 56:09will shield them. They will destroy and overcome
- 56:12with sling stones. They will drink and and roar as
- 56:16with wine. They will be like a full, like
- 56:20full, like a bowl used for sprinkling the corners of the
- 56:24altar. The Lord their God will save his
- 56:27people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock.
- 56:31They will sparkle in his hand like jewels in a crown.
- 56:36How attractive and beautiful they will be.
- 56:38Grain will make the young men thrive and new wine the young
- 56:42women. So that's Zechariah Chapter 9
- 56:47and let's see what else was there.
- 56:53I somehow I was in the book of. Hosea as well, reading things
- 56:58that it led me to. So I, I need to try to get a
- 57:01little bit better organized for this because I start searching
- 57:05things and then I have all these tabs open and I can't find them
- 57:09in the sequence when I want to talk about them.
- 57:11Like where my mind went. But I went all over the Bible
- 57:15just finding, doing. Searches.
- 57:20On this, and I think a lot of it that led me on onto these other
- 57:24chapters were searching things and reading them in context when
- 57:28you search from the North. So there's, you know, definitely
- 57:31sounds like there's going to be an alliance of north.
- 57:35It's kind of interesting. In Jeremiah, can a man break
- 57:37iron, iron from the north or bronze?
- 57:39We were just talking about bronze and iron.
- 57:42There's another verse in Scripture somewhere where it
- 57:43talks about bronze and iron. And that's where I got to.
- 57:46You know, all of a sudden I had that thought in my mind about
- 57:49that image that was in the dream where the bronze and the iron.
- 57:55That's basically Turkey and a Roman Empire.
- 57:59Well, there's a lot of people that I don't know.
- 58:02Let's let's you know that could be Turkey would be the Assyrian.
- 58:08Who knows if that's going to be the end and if it's a Roman, if
- 58:11that's what that you know, the iron is.
- 58:14There's also talk about a a false prophet too.
- 58:18So as being a part of it, the different beasts that are coming
- 58:21against that will rule the whole earth.
- 58:24So it's just interesting to search more, but Scripture is,
- 58:30it leaves a lot to interpretation.
- 58:32So not saying that anything that I've noticed here is, is
- 58:38relevant. Well, some of it is if it's
- 58:41backed up by Scripture, but some of it is just you can't
- 58:44absolutely say this is what it means.
- 58:47You can see that there are multiple interpretations of
- 58:49these things. So that's what makes it
- 58:52interesting is because we don't really have the full
- 58:55understanding, but we can pray about it and maybe as we read
- 58:58more, God will reveal more to us.
- 59:01So hope you come back for Chapter 42 and we'll do that
- 59:05next time.
