- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30The girls and I and Raven. So, today have a question to ask
- 0:35you, what truly makes others in your life happy.
- 0:39So maybe it's someone really close to you.
- 0:42Maybe it's a partner, maybe it's a child, maybe it's a co-worker
- 0:47but the question I'm asking really is about understanding
- 0:51someone else's languages and we've heard all heard about the
- 0:55love language is if you hadn't there's a book called, love the
- 0:57love five, love languages. It's a great book.
- 1:00But skip it, if it's not a love situation and it's just knowing
- 1:04what makes other people, happy around you and asking that
- 1:08question in general because I think a lot of us know, we want
- 1:13to believe we know what makes us happy.
- 1:14Although I'm not convinced that we all do know that I think,
- 1:17oftentimes were confused by that.
- 1:20So you can actually ask yourself the question too.
- 1:23But today's intent was all about.
- 1:24Do you know what makes others happy?
- 1:26And the reason why I'm asking that question of you today, is
- 1:29because I think if you're going, I have a really well-balanced
- 1:32life, you have to know what makes others around you happy.
- 1:37So for instance, even if you'd still like okay let's use the
- 1:40chickens as an example. I have a very curious situation
- 1:44because my neighbor's chickens fly over the fence.
- 1:48They come here, they lay eggs in my egg boxes, they eat my food
- 1:53and they hang out with my chickens who are super Zen
- 1:55Andrew suit and not supposed to like when other members of
- 2:00another LA cour, new chickens come in, but my girls are really
- 2:03chilled out obviously because we're very chilled out.
- 2:06So that's why it happens. Energy is everything.
- 2:09And, you know, I'm a big fan of that, but these other chickens,
- 2:11they have a coop. They have a very, you know, big
- 2:17place that they can live yet. They come here.
- 2:20And the question is, what's the reason why do they come here?
- 2:24Well, I am a very, very, very, very big, proponent of studying
- 2:29everything you can in order to To understand when you take on a
- 2:32project. So my chickens, I studied how to
- 2:35care for them but I didn't just study how to care for them.
- 2:37I studied what they like. I studied how they act what
- 2:41their behaviors over the years have taught people.
- 2:44Now, can you just treat them as a commodity?
- 2:48Yes, you can, but my chickens are way more than that.
- 2:53To me, they're my pets. So of course I really studied,
- 2:56what makes chickens happy? What do they like?
- 2:58And I provided that they Even have opportunities of where to
- 3:02roost at night inside the coop. So some of them might like to be
- 3:06on the ladders, some of them might might to be on the left
- 3:08side, some of them are on the right side.
- 3:10They have all these different places that they can go and
- 3:14partly that's because that's chicken Behavior.
- 3:17So that it's the hierarchy but I understood it what makes them
- 3:20feel good? What makes them happy?
- 3:22What do they like in their chicken world?
- 3:24So I could provide it. Now I'm using this as an example
- 3:28but I really want you to think about this in terms of Other
- 3:30people around you, like what makes somebody happy today.
- 3:35I knew it. We're getting ready to go
- 3:37camping and I knew that my son would want to have a frisbee to
- 3:40go like a really cool frisbee. So I stopped and I got them a
- 3:43frisbee because I was like, wow, that's really cool.
- 3:45And again, it's not about just buying people things.
- 3:47It's about saying the words, you know, my husband cooks dinner
- 3:51nearly every night for me when I'm working and coaching.
- 3:55And I'm very blessed to have that and I totally understand
- 3:57that. So I never let a time go by when
- 4:00he cooks. I don't say thank you.
- 4:02That was delicious or thank you. I really appreciate you doing
- 4:05that because it means something to me and I know that one of the
- 4:08ways he he knows I appreciate him is with me saying it.
- 4:13So it's important to have acknowledgement and you need to
- 4:17know. Is it just a sticky note to
- 4:19somebody say hey I appreciate all your help.
- 4:22I had a client not long ago who had a sister that was taken care
- 4:26of the parents and she was not like right near there.
- 4:29So her sister was Is easier to do it.
- 4:31And she actually, we were talking about it and she said,
- 4:34I'd love to be able to, like, acknowledge her for it.
- 4:36I said, why don't you show up and bring her flowers?
- 4:38It turned into this beautiful moment between the two of them
- 4:42because her sister felt recognized and she started to
- 4:44cry and there was lots of hugging lots of tears and a
- 4:48meeting of the minds and it's these small things that make us
- 4:52better people. So this isn't just about what
- 4:54you can give to someone else, but it's also how you feel your
- 4:57heart back up your soul back up. So, I want you to think today,
- 5:02honestly, what truly makes the other people in your life happy.
- 5:05And what can you do to facilitate that?
- 5:07And again, it's not about buying it's about being.
- 5:11So, I hope you guys have a very blessed day and I hope you
- 5:13brighten someones day today. Maybe even a random stranger.
- 5:17Wouldn't that be special? Alright guys, I hope you have a
- 5:19blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:21Bye.
