- 3:17Cassandra: We're so aligned, Kelly.
- 3:19Cassandra: Birds of a feather, girl.
- 3:21Cassandra: I know, and girl, I am just loving this.
- 3:23Cassandra: Hey, let me ask you, while you worked in corporate the corporate world, like I have, you experienced a series of what I would call spiritual awakenings.
- 3:33Cassandra: Tell us about that.
- 3:35Kelly: Yeah, for sure.
- 3:37Kelly: So, you know, my process of awakening and really remembering started even before I made it into corporate, but it was a series of awakenings that deepened it even further that I knew I needed to go all in on the calling that was the heart space.
- 3:53Kelly: Okay.
- 3:54Kelly: So I had my awakening, the end of freshman year of college.
- 3:58Kelly: So I was still a baby.
- 4:00Cassandra: Okay.
- 4:01Kelly: I was close to you know 230, 250 pounds.
- 4:06Kelly: I was still depressed.
- 4:07Kelly: I really had so much unprocessed trauma and all these things that were going on inside of me.
- 4:12Kelly: And at the end of freshman year, it was like a light switch that I decided I'm gonna go to the gym every day.
- 4:18Kelly: I started eating a very disciplined diet, and I changed my major from education anthropology to business management.
- 4:25Cassandra: Mm-hmm.
- 4:25Cassandra: Mm-hmm.
- 4:27Kelly: Speed track us years of you know, weight loss, yoga, meditation, these pieces.
- 4:33Kelly: I was working in the nonprofit sector to start, and I received a message, clear as day in meditation, look up healing modalities, you're a healer.
- 4:45Kelly: I was like, what the bleep is this?
- 4:48Kelly: Say that again.
- 4:49Kelly: Say that again again.
- 4:50Kelly: I was in yep, I was in meditation and I heard clear as day, look up healing modalities.
- 4:59Kelly: You are a healer.
- 5:01Kelly: Okay, and I was like, what the bleep is this?
- 5:04Kelly: You know, this was not my normal Wednesday morning meditation situation, you know.
- 5:09Kelly: But I listened and I found I Googled healing modalities, and I clicked on Reiki, and this huge wave of energy moved through me.
- 5:21Kelly: I try to pretend it never happened.
- 5:23Kelly: A few days later, I took off of work to work on a side hustle I had going on, and I was procrastinating on Facebook.
- 5:32Kelly: And I saw a something of you know, people you might know.
- 5:38Kelly: And this bang pops up, and everything in my being, again, this self-trust cultivating without even realizing where I was coming from, you know, not realizing my calling was banging on the door of I had to be friends with this person.
- 5:53Kelly: And so I added a message.
- 5:57Kelly: I said, This is weird and bold, but I'm a weird and bold person.
- 6:00Kelly: I know we're gonna be friends, and we start talking back and forth three hours later.
- 6:08Kelly: Unplanned, he walks in the same doors of the bookstore I was in.
- 6:12Kelly: Ooh, yes, we're announcing and having tea.
- 6:20Kelly: And I say to him sometime, and I said, Listen, something happened a few days ago, and I had not told anybody.
- 6:26Kelly: And I say, you know, I was doing this thing, I've heard this weird message, and you know, I felt like a weirdo right now because you know, this was not a normal thing for me at the time.
- 6:36Kelly: Now it's very normal.
- 6:37Kelly: And he said, Oh, that's interesting.
- 6:40Kelly: I guess you're ready.
- 6:41Kelly: I said, I'm sorry, what?
- 6:43Kelly: He said, Come on, you know the cliche.
- 6:45Kelly: When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
- 6:48Kelly: He said, I'm a ranking master, so I guess I'll be your first teacher on the path.
- 6:52Kelly: Oh, and from there I was led and guided in these awakenings to move to New York, to leave working with a nonprofit as a motivational speaker and you know, leadership facilitator, leave that to go into corporate.
- 7:08Kelly: I said, What?
- 7:09Kelly: I love this job.
- 7:10Kelly: You want me to go work in a cubicle?
- 7:12Cassandra: Yeah.
- 7:13Kelly: And I followed.
- 7:14Kelly: And we did that.
- 7:15Kelly: And during that time, there is more and more of this calling growing.
- 7:20Kelly: I was led to another teacher, and I was having these experiences that I was getting more and more insight to the fullness of my mission.
- 7:29Cassandra: Okay.
- 7:30Kelly: And within the company, I started a meditation program.
- 7:33Kelly: I was like the Zen desk of the place.
- 7:35Kelly: I had my oil diffuser going and all these pieces.
- 7:38Kelly: And there was a time where it hit of I this isn't going to be for me.
- 7:44Kelly: About nine months in, my calling was getting louder and louder.
- 7:48Kelly: And my performance there was then beginning to drop because my soul was so unfulfilled.
- 7:56Kelly: And so I ended up taking the trip to India.
- 8:01Kelly: And it was during that time, I was very clear that it was time for me to go all in on the heart space.
- 8:09Kelly: And I never looked back.
- 8:11Cassandra: Okay, let me let's go back for a minute.
- 8:14Kelly: You got it.
- 8:15Cassandra: Okay, so you graduated, you were working in corporate.
- 8:19Cassandra: In the meantime, you were having these awakenings.
- 8:22Cassandra: Then, you know, you took a day off or something because you were working on a side hustle.
- 8:29Cassandra: You looked through LinkedIn and you saw this person, and you tapped in.
- 8:34Cassandra: And as you tapped in and you all start talking, he mysteriously or mystically walked through a door and a bookstore.
- 8:45Kelly: Correct.
- 8:45Cassandra: And from there, you moved to New York.
- 8:49Cassandra: Correct.
- 8:49Cassandra: Correct.
- 8:50Cassandra: Where were you living before?
- 8:52Cassandra: I was in New Jersey.
- 8:53Kelly: So not too big of a jump.
- 8:54Kelly: That's a good one.
- 8:56Cassandra: Right.
- 8:57Cassandra: So you moved to New York and started working in a nonprofit.
- 9:01Kelly: I was at a nonprofit before I left.
- 9:04Cassandra: Okay.
- 9:04Kelly: And I was with them.
- 9:05Kelly: I was working with them within New York.
- 9:07Kelly: I then moved into a tech, a big tech company, okay.
- 9:14Kelly: Working in big data, yeah, doing business development.
- 9:17Kelly: I've been in and out of different sales roles in different corporate companies and yeah, had entrepreneurship in the places.
- 9:24Kelly: But it was in New York in that tech company that it finally hit of its time to leap.
- 9:30Cassandra: Okay.
- 9:30Cassandra: Now tell my listeners what Reiki is.
- 9:33Cassandra: I don't think everybody knows about it.
- 9:35Cassandra: What is Reiki?
- 9:36Kelly: Yeah, for sure.
- 9:37Kelly: So Reiki is a uh healing modality, it's two Japanese words brought together.
- 9:43Kelly: It's R E I, which means universal life force, and then ki energy chi prana.
- 9:50Kelly: And so when an individual is working with Reiki on themselves or others, it's the process of bringing down and through yourself universal life force energy, which is unconditional love and healing.
- 10:04Kelly: And it's an energy that's always conspiring for the highest good of all.
- 10:08Kelly: It helps to uplift mind, body, and spirit.
- 10:11Cassandra: Okay, okay.
- 10:13Cassandra: Now, do you think there was anything in your backstory to do with spiritual awakening?
- 10:21Cassandra: Like what was going on as you were growing up?
- 10:25Kelly: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 10:27Kelly: So I I'm an old soul girl.
- 10:30Kelly: Okay.
- 10:31Kelly: Um, where when looking at it, I think this is a beautiful part when people are really sitting with like, what is my purpose?
- 10:39Kelly: What is my calling?
- 10:40Kelly: How do I be with it?
- 10:41Kelly: A great question is to look at who were you as a kid?
- 10:45Kelly: What did you love to do?
- 10:47Kelly: What was natural to your being?
- 10:49Kelly: Because the younger we are, the closest we are to our truest essence.
- 10:52Kelly: And so as a child, I received visitations at night from Jesus Christ.
- 11:00Kelly: My parents can tell me even more details than I remember, I recall, but they're able to share that with me.
- 11:06Kelly: Um as even a young kid, and through my teens, I was a person everyone came to to share all of their problems, needing advice, needing wisdom.
- 11:17Kelly: And I always had it.
- 11:18Kelly: And I didn't know why.
- 11:20Kelly: I knew the depths of what was coming through and just the sound wisdom and advice.
- 11:25Kelly: So yeah, I've always been very sensitive and tapped in.
- 11:30Cassandra: Hmm.
- 11:31Cassandra: Interesting.
- 11:32Cassandra: Interesting.
- 11:33Cassandra: So, okay, so while you were in New York, you were like, I think I'm gonna go all in with something.
- 11:41Cassandra: So you went to India.
- 11:43Cassandra: A lot of people go to India.
- 11:44Cassandra: Why did you go to India?
- 11:46Kelly: Yeah, you know, I'm one where people learn very quickly.
- 11:50Kelly: I'm kind of face value.
- 11:51Kelly: What you see is what you get.
- 11:53Kelly: It a friend, a dear childhood friend, hit me up nine months before, like I just started working and said, I'm gonna go to India in you know, in August.
- 12:03Kelly: Do you want to go?
- 12:04Kelly: And I just said, Yup.
- 12:06Kelly: And it was as simple as that.
- 12:07Kelly: It wasn't a depth to it at the time.
- 12:09Kelly: It became a very, you know, a special trip for me.
- 12:34Kelly: I had already started the heart space, it was just very part-time.
- 12:38Kelly: It was something I was doing on the side that was still growing as I was in this piece.
- 12:43Kelly: And that's your business heart space, the heart space, yeah.
- 12:47Cassandra: Okay, mm-hmm.
- 12:48Cassandra: Yeah, okay.
- 12:48Kelly: So it was really a yeah, it came to me.
- 12:52Kelly: I wanted to do it.
- 12:53Kelly: I said yep.
- 12:55Kelly: And then uh it was time.
- 12:57Cassandra: Okay, did anything happen in India while you were there?
- 13:01Kelly: You know, it's a really have you been to India?
- 13:04Kelly: No, I'm not.
- 13:05Kelly: Okay, it's a really special place.
- 13:09Kelly: For me, I think I've definitely without going too woo-woo here, it's kind of funny over the years I've gotten more and more grounded.
- 13:18Kelly: Um, but I think I've definitely been there before.
- 13:22Kelly: You know, it's kind of one of those like I landed and my body just kind of I recalibrated and I just thrived.
- 13:28Kelly: We had a really beautiful trip.
- 13:30Kelly: My friend doesn't resonate and identify as much as spiritual, so it was like a fun balance of us having adventures, me being like, I'm gonna go find somewhere to go meditate and do a training.
- 13:41Kelly: And I had the special, the most profound moment was by you could say a mishap, but I look at them always as divine intervention.
- 13:51Kelly: I booked my flight from somewhere to Mumbai the wrong day.
- 13:59Kelly: We were getting ready of okay, let's check in.
- 14:02Kelly: I realized, oh dear, my flight was for today.
- 14:04Kelly: Oh wow.
- 14:05Kelly: She was like, Well, book another one.
- 14:07Kelly: I said, to be honest, I don't want to go.
- 14:09Kelly: I'm very happy where I am.
- 14:11Kelly: So she ended up going and I stayed.
- 14:14Kelly: And I learned I was sitting at a cafe having chai with a friend, as one does, and I learned the Dalai Lama was going to be in town for the next four days, starting the next day.
- 14:25Kelly: So I had the privilege and honor and sitting and studying, well, learning from the Dalai Lama in person for three days.
- 14:31Kelly: So that was that was really special.
- 14:34Cassandra: That sounds like it.
- 14:35Cassandra: That sounds like it.
- 14:36Cassandra: Yeah.
- 14:37Cassandra: Did you learn anything from the Dalai Lama?
- 14:41Cassandra: Or did you have uh epiphany or how'd you feel after that experience?
- 14:47Kelly: Yeah, so I think my biggest takeaway from his teachings, he spoke on the difference of compassion and sympathy, and that's something that I really carry with me.
- 15:02Cassandra: Okay.
- 15:03Kelly: Of that reminder of in this world, we don't need people to have sympathy for other people.
- 15:11Kelly: Because sympathy actually puts people below us.
- 15:14Kelly: It's a oh, I feel bad for you.
- 15:16Kelly: It's actually a very disempowering experience.
- 15:20Kelly: Whereas when we can have compassion for someone, it's as if we just say, Oh, I really see you, and like, you know, I'm sorry that you feel this, but let me just sit right next to you.
- 15:30Kelly: There's no putting ourselves above or someone below, but rather being with them.
- 15:35Kelly: That was something that really resonated the most profound, honestly, the energetics of the land, they have all these different countries mapped out on the platform.
- 15:48Kelly: And so I was kind of walking around, and you just moved from language to language here, and it was a very buzzy, you know, thousands of people, all these different languages happening.
- 15:55Kelly: And then when everyone moved into the Omani Pani home chant, everything went from chaos and static as of all these different languages and people to thousands in this cohesive, peaceful chant, all with such a pure intention.
- 16:14Kelly: That's a frequency that I don't think I'll ever be able to forget.
- 16:19Kelly: That was really, really special.
- 16:21Cassandra: Wow.
- 16:22Kelly: People speaking in different languages to all them one universal language.
- 16:27Cassandra: Wow.
- 16:28Cassandra: Okay, interesting.
- 16:30Cassandra: Well, you know, our title is Are You Living Your Calling or Your Fear?
- 16:38Cassandra: Could you provide some examples to my listeners of what that means?
- 16:44Kelly: Yeah, for sure.
- 16:45Kelly: So, you know, as we've kind of dove in here, I'll kind of give a full scope of the lay of the land of myself and the methodology that we use within heartspace that will kind of help.
- 16:54Kelly: So I'm privileged and blessed to say I'm someone who traveled the world, most of our 20s, sitting with spiritual leaders and indigenous elders, but also have over 10,000 hours in neuroscience, the subconscious mind and understanding how we work.
- 17:10Kelly: And so when we can look at this idea of are we living on calling from both the spiritual, but also understanding what does it mean to be a spiritual human, understanding the complexities of being a human.
- 17:27Kelly: Our default as humans is fear.
- 17:29Kelly: And it makes sense because there's different parts within ourselves that their job all day, every day is to do their very best to keep us safe.
- 17:41Kelly: And so as we start to look at, okay, why do I do the things I do in my life?
- 17:50Kelly: Why do I say I want that thing, but I don't let myself take the steps forward on it?
- 17:58Kelly: Or maybe I start to take a couple steps forward, but then I'm back.
- 18:01Kelly: It can kind of be this dance of the in and out.
- 18:05Kelly: And that's where we really get to look at, okay, I love is your way in your way?
- 18:11Kelly: Because that essentially is your autopilot keeping you from being where you want to be.
- 18:17Kelly: And so us looking at are you in your calling, aka your most authentic expression, unapologetically, you really running the program, the desires, the patterns, letting your neural pathways run in the way that help you get to where it is you want to be, or are you still living from the expectations of others, the subconscious programmings, and the behaviors that don't serve you?
- 18:46Cassandra: Okay, okay.
- 18:47Cassandra: So you said our default is fear, you think?
- 18:51Cassandra: Because fear is like we're trying to protect ourselves from something.
- 18:55Cassandra: Correct.
- 18:56Cassandra: Okay.
- 18:56Cassandra: How would one know if they're living their calling or not?
- 19:03Kelly: Yeah, well, I think the you know, I have so many people walking into my, you know, theoretical door of the Zoom room, you know, and in different events and spaces, and I'll even have some dear friends, you know, as we are approaching a really exciting time in the collective of more and more people starting to say, like, wait, what am I doing?
- 19:26Kelly: What am I living for?
- 19:28Kelly: What is my purpose?
- 19:30Kelly: Yeah, this is such a big question, the looming across everyone these days, right?
- 19:35Kelly: What is the purpose?
- 19:36Kelly: And the more like, you know, may this be your reminder, y'all.
- 19:41Kelly: Like, no one's purpose is a job.
- 19:44Kelly: No one comes to Earth with this thing of my purpose is to be an architect.
- 19:50Kelly: You know, like my purpose this lifetime is not to be a healer or a speaker or an author.
- 19:58Kelly: Insert these gifts that I have.
- 20:01Kelly: They're gifts and skills to deliver my purpose.
- 20:06Kelly: Our calling, our purpose is simply the medicine we bring to the world.
- 20:11Kelly: When we're doing what we do, our that's the purpose and the calling.
- 20:18Kelly: My purpose is to empower people to remember what it is that they're truly here to do that sets them, their soul on fire, and then clear out all of the BS that keeps them from being it.
- 20:32Kelly: That's my purpose, that's my calling.
- 20:36Kelly: But guess what?
- 20:37Kelly: That comes out in having a podcast conversation, it comes out in my books, it comes out when I'm on stage doing comedy.
- 20:45Kelly: It comes in all of these different expressions.
- 20:52Cassandra: So, Kelly, now as you were growing up, you you know, back in the day, now this is gonna be weird, but I'm I'm gonna say this.
- 21:03Cassandra: I used to hear that girl was born or that guy was born with a veil over their face.
- 21:09Cassandra: I don't know if you've ever heard that.
- 21:10Cassandra: And I was like, a what?
- 21:12Cassandra: You know, something prophetic.
- 21:15Cassandra: You know, they they know, not they know, but whoever's around them know there's something about them that's different.
- 21:25Cassandra: And as you were growing up, you even indicated your parents could tell us more about what was going on in your head and what was going on in your behavior than anything else.
- 21:35Cassandra: So suppose people think, well, you had an awakening, so you you literally heard something say healing.
- 21:42Cassandra: So you're dealing with clients that didn't even hear anything like that.
- 21:46Cassandra: So, what modality would you use to help them identify?
- 21:50Cassandra: Now you said our jobs are not our purpose, but perhaps you get the skills and what you need to do what it is that you are going to do.
- 22:00Cassandra: So, what modality do you use to help people identify their calling?
- 22:06Kelly: Yeah, for sure.
- 22:07Kelly: So I'll actually even, you know, a big part of our mission because typically when I find individuals coming with the same questions and being able to feel this is a collective thing, you know.
- 22:17Kelly: My team and I, we poured our hearts into creating a very simple yet profound quiz that if we haven't already, we'll make sure you have it and we can put it into the show notes.
- 22:30Kelly: Or it's nine questions that help us to really understand where are we in our world, how do we work, how do we navigate, that will mirror back to you what is at the soul level your purpose.
- 22:41Kelly: And we move through these different archetypes at different times.
- 22:45Kelly: Okay, where it can help to illuminate, oh, interesting.
- 22:49Kelly: I've known this of myself.
- 22:51Kelly: I didn't even realize that that's a part of my purpose.
- 22:56Kelly: And the reason I love this resource so much, again, it's just loaded with support for y'all, free resources, meditations, and things we don't get anything out of it other than purpose, you know.
- 23:06Kelly: Um it helping to start to activate that and to own that identity more.
- 23:12Kelly: And the more we can create the clarity with that, we can start to bring the process of living in alignment to it.
- 23:20Kelly: I love witnessing people remember when we work together to clear out the static, to create that spaciousness inside to realize that you the answers are in there.
- 23:34Kelly: And we work with first the energetics of clearing and identifying what do you want.
- 23:42Kelly: And then from my side, but again, I'm a nerd on this stuff.
- 23:45Kelly: And then the real fun begins as we start to walk it, we get to start to explore what are all the beliefs, patterns, habits that aren't in alignment with that expression, and we begin to unravel them and rewire them so that way life matches what we truly want to be living.
- 24:07Cassandra: Okay, okay.
- 24:08Cassandra: So the the so the nine questions is the entry level, would you say to help individuals identify identify their calling?
- 24:18Cassandra: You you authored a book about rise above fear.
- 24:23Cassandra: I did.
- 24:23Cassandra: Right.
- 24:24Cassandra: So what triggered you to write that book?
- 24:31Kelly: Yeah, it's well, one, I've always been a writer.
- 24:35Kelly: You know, I wrote my first my first book, third grade.
- 24:38Kelly: I wrote a chapter book, second was in seventh grade.
- 24:41Kelly: So writing, again, it's always been a skill set that I brought this lifetime for my purpose.
- 24:46Kelly: Okay.
- 24:46Kelly: And again, it's I'm a very face value, y'all.
- 24:50Kelly: And I know it's not like the norm, but it's my story and you know, I'm practicing what I what I teach of being radically authentic because I was told to, because the book came through.
- 25:01Kelly: It was moving through me.
- 25:03Kelly: I've written uh a fiction novel as well, and my relationship with books and writing, it's like a consciousness moves through me.
- 25:11Kelly: Okay, and I have to get it out.
- 25:14Cassandra: Okay.
- 25:14Kelly: So I wrote Rise above fear in 2018, and it's not only explaining as you go through it, y'all.
- 25:22Kelly: There are questions, it's a workbook style.
- 25:25Kelly: It's a book, but it's a workbook style.
- 25:27Kelly: So you can live time be working through a fear as you read it.
- 25:32Kelly: Okay, and you I can actually read in the foreword.
- 25:35Kelly: I say the exact method that I bring you through in this book, I used for myself to finally put my book out there and be a published author.
- 25:45Cassandra: Okay.
- 25:46Kelly: So it's something I got to use with for myself as well of putting the book.
- 25:51Cassandra: Sure.
- 25:52Kelly: But it's something I've helped so many people in their lives with.
- 25:55Cassandra: Right.
- 25:55Cassandra: Okay.
- 25:56Kelly: That we put into a book.
- 25:57Kelly: So, you know, we have the privilege and honor of changing lives and helping people understand and work with fear better, you know, around the world at any given time.
- 26:07Cassandra: Right.
- 26:07Cassandra: So you can also say within your lifetime, you've been fearful of things.
- 26:13Kelly: Of course.
- 26:13Kelly: Welcome to being human, girl.
- 26:15Cassandra: Yeah.
- 26:16Cassandra: So by you being fearful of things, opened up your calling, would you say?
- 26:26Cassandra: Or that's interesting.
- 26:28Cassandra: Enabled you to write the book because it's kind of like I used to say, you can't tell me anything unless you've been there.
- 26:38Cassandra: You know how people are like, oh, let me tell you.
- 26:40Cassandra: I'm like, have you have you experienced it?
- 26:42Cassandra: Well, no, well, you can't, you can't, you can't still you can't tell me anything, right?
- 26:48Cassandra: Absolutely.
- 26:49Cassandra: Okay.
- 26:50Kelly: Yeah.
- 26:50Kelly: Yeah.
- 26:50Kelly: I think that's an really interesting framing of it.
- 26:54Kelly: And sure, with that frame, I could see that I look at it from a way of kind of the flip side of as individuals, the more we walk into our purpose and more of our authentic self, we're gonna bump against these fears.
- 27:12Kelly: They're like little thresholds, you know, like these gates.
- 27:15Kelly: And so it was for me looking at that, it's not so much I felt fierce, let me write the book.
- 27:23Kelly: It was more, oh my goodness, I'm so clear, I need to write this book.
- 27:27Kelly: And I started writing it.
- 27:29Kelly: And then as it got closer to okay, now it's time to put into the world, that's where the fear came in.
- 27:34Kelly: That's where those beliefs, that's where when all those little shadows had to pop up, and I said, Oh, now we're in the challenge.
- 27:42Kelly: Writing the book easy.
- 27:44Kelly: Okay, getting this the putting it out there, and that's where I got to do the dance with the fear.
- 27:50Kelly: And it's still there.
- 27:51Kelly: I think that's you know, as humans, the more we can understand we're complex.
- 27:57Kelly: And these parts of ourselves, there's some that are really deep.
- 28:03Kelly: You know, our subconscious patterns, our default switchboard was built from age of zero to 11.
- 28:11Kelly: Right.
- 28:12Kelly: And so the more we can remember of okay, I have core wounds, and I'm speaking of me, but this is everyone.
- 28:18Kelly: I have core wounds that cool, I've done so much work on, and there can still be a oh, this new opportunity, oh, this bigger platform, oh, this and I can feel that part come up.
- 28:30Kelly: And I get to sit and go through the process and be with her because it's nothing wrong.
- 28:36Kelly: We've created in society fears the enemy.
- 28:40Kelly: Oh, you have to learn how to slay the fear, just feel the fear and do it anyway.
- 28:45Kelly: Which essentially what we're teaching is what you have to do is bypass the younger parts of yourself, ignore them, and just keep on going.
- 28:53Kelly: Where what we really explore and rise above fear is hey, let's remember that this fear is a part of you.
- 29:02Kelly: This is a member of your team, it's a younger part of you who doesn't understand what's going on and is loving you the best way it knows how.
- 29:11Kelly: And when we can move through these processes, we can have that part feel seen, heard, understood, and most important, safe to keep moving forward, which we build that self-trust, which creates true empowerment for the long term, right?
- 29:30Cassandra: And that's kind of like I said in the beginning, too, those internal barriers keep get you stuck, yeah, from doing what it is that you perhaps were created to do.
- 29:43Cassandra: And you mentioned, I thought was interesting, that awareness alone does not create lasting change.
- 29:53Cassandra: Like I'm aware that I'm fearful.
- 29:56Cassandra: I remember when I was writing my book, and what had me stuck is I didn't want anybody to know my story.
- 30:04Cassandra: Okay, so I'm protecting myself.
- 30:07Cassandra: Or oh, oh, I don't, I, I, I don't think people are gonna read who who would be interested in this.
- 30:15Cassandra: I'm not a famous person, you know, so I'm protecting myself in case the book is not successful.
- 30:22Cassandra: But you also said, but transformation requires something else.
- 30:28Cassandra: Yes, it's not me being aware that I'm fear and I doubt and I uh procrastinate.
- 30:35Cassandra: What does transformation require?
- 30:39Cassandra: Yeah, for sure.
- 30:40Kelly: I think this is you know one of my favorite elements.
- 30:44Kelly: And this is where a lot of women who find themselves working with me, they have they've done therapy, they've done the books.
- 30:51Kelly: There is a level of self-awareness there where they're like, oh, well, I can just tell you this is my pattern, this, this, and this.
- 30:57Kelly: And I say, okay, great, you have the awareness, but you haven't shifted it.
- 31:02Cassandra: Right.
- 31:02Kelly: And that's something where, and I'll preface this with I'm pro-therapy.
- 31:07Kelly: It's amazing that therapy has become trending and cool and great.
- 31:11Kelly: Keep your therapy.
- 31:12Kelly: So I want to preface with that, and say this is where therapy can only go so far.
- 31:18Kelly: Therapy does an amazing job at supporting us to bring awareness to what's happening in our inner world, or maybe starting to create some connections and dots of why we feel that way.
- 31:32Kelly: But when we truly look at long-lasting, sustainable transformation, this requires us going to the core of where did that originate?
- 31:47Kelly: We may feel, okay, I'm aware that I'm feeling fear around launching my book because no one's going to read it.
- 31:53Kelly: And we say, great.
- 31:55Kelly: Well, we rather than okay, well, how do we cope with that and keep it moving?
- 31:59Kelly: Working within this methodology, we now start to go, let's explore deeper.
- 32:07Kelly: Utilizing a very powerful tool, neurolinguistic programming.
- 32:12Kelly: It's the study of the language that directly reveals what's happening within the subconscious mind.
- 32:17Kelly: So it can help to pool these beliefs that have been running 90% of the day-to-day world, that they show up in the what if no one reads it.
- 32:27Kelly: If I have permission, I'll continue to just use that example since you put it there of oh, what no one reads it.
- 32:32Kelly: Oh, interesting.
- 32:33Kelly: Where did that get developed?
- 32:36Kelly: And we get to go way back to working on the switchboard and changing the switchboard blobs from you know, I'm not important or I'm never seen to the truth of of course people want to see me and hear me, or it's safe to take up space, or whatever it is.
- 32:55Kelly: Right.
- 32:55Kelly: And then we shift the actions in the day-to-day until we begin embodying a new expression.
- 33:02Kelly: This keeps awareness great.
- 33:06Kelly: But if we don't do anything with it, next thing you know, you're just ruminating in awareness.
- 33:11Kelly: Okay, and we're stewing and stuff, and we're just re-rejusting to drive the same neural pathways.
- 33:18Kelly: The body's flooded with cortisol, we're in fight or flight, versus let's understand the beginning of it, let's heal it so we're free and we can move with an empowering mindset.
- 33:31Cassandra: Okay, so in other words, awareness is not so much lasting change, it's becoming aware of what has you stuck, and then get to the core of why that's there.
- 33:47Cassandra: Like, like, like, for example, why am I such a perfectionist?
- 33:55Cassandra: Where everything has to be right because everything's not right, it doesn't get done because everything has to be perfect.
- 34:01Cassandra: So if I get to the core of that, and like, well, why what what is that?
- 34:04Cassandra: Then I kind of go back to growing up.
- 34:08Cassandra: Correct.
- 34:08Cassandra: My mom was critical.
- 34:11Cassandra: Why don't you do this?
- 34:13Cassandra: Why do you look like that?
- 34:14Cassandra: Why do you dress like that?
- 34:15Cassandra: Not that she didn't love me, but it's like walking on eggshells because I want to be perfect, right?
- 34:21Cassandra: So understanding that to the core, where that's coming from helps me to transform in time, not immediately, but get it.
- 34:31Cassandra: And and so why can't I dress like this?
- 34:36Cassandra: So why can't I look like this?
- 34:38Cassandra: Um that's that was her expectation.
- 34:40Cassandra: So once I've identified that, then I'm like, okay, now I understand I'm a recovering perfectionist, I'm not perfect, but I understand where I'm coming from, where it came from.
- 34:52Cassandra: So that's what you're saying, the core, and then take action on it.
- 34:56Cassandra: Correct.
- 34:57Cassandra: Yeah, awareness is step one.
- 34:58Cassandra: Okay, okay, okay, all right.
- 35:02Cassandra: And then you talked about building self-trust, confidence, and sustainable personal growth.
- 35:10Cassandra: And I guess too, you get that from the core, the the next step, and take an action upon that.
- 35:16Cassandra: Trust yourself, right?
- 35:19Kelly: Yeah, I mean, there's there's levels on the inner plane, the more that we can allow ourselves to reach back and be with that little one, you know, using that example of oh, that makes sense.
- 35:32Kelly: You know, there was a conditioning of remember, child psychology is very different from adult psychology.
- 35:39Kelly: When we're children, everything we perceive in the world is happening because of us.
- 35:45Kelly: We're learning, oh, this is my role in the world, this is how the world works, this is how the entire world works.
- 35:52Kelly: And so as we start to explore these beliefs, we use that example of, oh, I have to be perfect to receive love, affection, and care.
- 36:02Kelly: That's how I'm gonna survive.
- 36:04Cassandra: Okay.
- 36:05Kelly: And when we begin to go back and look at these younger parts, and we can be with it and help it to understand a new way, we develop a self-trust.
- 36:14Kelly: This younger part can start to say, Oh, I'm finally gonna be taken care of.
- 36:18Kelly: Someone finally sees me, someone's actually showing me a new way that actually feels good.
- 36:23Kelly: Okay.
- 36:23Kelly: So we have on the inner plane, and then yes, the more we take action in alignment with the version of ourselves that we know at our core we are or we want to be.
- 36:35Kelly: We follow through.
- 36:38Kelly: One, the external mode start to give more momentum to show that it's true.
- 36:42Kelly: And we can jam out on the neuroscience behind that as well.
- 36:45Kelly: But the more we start to walk in that, the more the confidence grows.
- 36:50Kelly: Of course, I can do this.
- 36:51Kelly: It goes from, oh, I would love to do that someday to oh my gosh, I'm doing it.
- 36:55Kelly: So oh, I did it.
- 36:56Kelly: Oh, I can do it.
- 36:58Kelly: Oh, I can do more, and we can show ourselves what we're truly capable.
- 37:02Cassandra: Okay, okay.
- 37:03Cassandra: Um I'm ready to inspire my audience.
- 37:07Cassandra: And you indicated that we can weave inspiration through storytelling.
- 37:12Cassandra: Would you share a story that will give my audience inspiration to start being who they were created to be, or shut away those self-imposed internal conflicts?
- 37:29Cassandra: What story would you like to share that will give them that inspiration?
- 37:34Kelly: Sure.
- 37:34Kelly: It's gonna be a little bit of a roundabout, but this is a story that's coming and it gives a gem of a tool that you all can use in your day-to-day.
- 37:43Kelly: So there was a time where I was in Guatemala when I was studying with my elders, Nana Marina and Data Pedro, and I went in the evening to a dance event in this incredible venue where it was open air, this platform at the top of the mountains called Eagle's Nest.
- 38:02Kelly: And so you see these eagles flying around or looking at the lake and the mountains, and just absolutely stunning.
- 38:08Kelly: And I took a break from the dance floor, had a cup of cacao, moved off the dance floor, and I was sitting on the ledge, and there was this petite, cute little woman, and she was sobbing, but it was like happy tears.
- 38:22Kelly: And I remember being like, Are you okay?
- 38:25Kelly: Like, what's going on?
- 38:26Kelly: And she said, Girl, I'm just so happy.
- 38:31Kelly: She said, I'm here, and tomorrow my mother and my grandmother are gonna be getting here, and they're gonna dive into healing work with me, and life just keeps getting better and better, and I'm just so happy and grateful, and not just like, wow, you know, she said, You know what the secret is?
- 38:50Kelly: And I was like, Okay, tell me, you know, like please don't hold down on me.
- 38:55Kelly: And I swear it was like a movie scene, slow motion.
- 38:58Kelly: She kind of like turns her head away from me and then slowly brings her head back.
- 39:03Kelly: She said, The questions, it's always the power of the questions that will bring the change.
- 39:11Kelly: And the most powerful question you can ever ask is how does it get any better than this?
- 39:19Kelly: This is rooted in a state of gratitude for what you have and where you are.
- 39:26Kelly: However, you pose the question, how could this get any better?
- 39:31Kelly: And the most beautiful thing is the universe will always answer.
- 39:37Cassandra: Okay.
- 39:38Kelly: And while we get any better, how does it get any better than this?
- 39:43Kelly: Okay.
- 39:44Kelly: A couple years later, I was at another gathering studying with the Dogon, an African tribe.
- 39:50Kelly: And this elder he said to us, he said it a little uh cheeky, which I appreciated, but he's like, okay, we're gonna move into the QA.
- 40:01Kelly: And if you weren't listening with this lens, you'd miss it.
- 40:04Kelly: But I understood it was a lesson in there.
- 40:06Kelly: He said, and don't waste my time because remember the quality of the answers you receive are in direct proportion to the quality of the questions you ask.
- 40:17Kelly: And it ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
- 40:22Kelly: And so I invite listeners explore the questions you're asking.
- 40:27Kelly: If you're asking questions, why is this always happening?
- 40:31Kelly: Why can't I figure this out?
- 40:33Kelly: When is this gonna happen?
- 40:35Kelly: Or whatever that sounds like for you, you're gonna get an answer which isn't going to feel empowering.
- 40:41Kelly: An invitation to ask better better questions.
- 40:46Kelly: What would be the next best step for me?
- 40:48Kelly: What's something I could do that will bring me closer to my dreams?
- 40:52Kelly: It's a person that I could connect with that could give me just one more jam to where I want to go.
- 40:57Cassandra: That's good.
- 40:58Kelly: Because when you ask a question, you're always gonna get an answer.
- 41:02Cassandra: Right.
- 41:02Cassandra: That's good.
- 41:04Cassandra: That's good, right?
- 41:05Cassandra: It's kind of like so what if my book becomes a bestseller?
- 41:09Cassandra: Right.
- 41:10Cassandra: And it did.
- 41:11Cassandra: Right.
- 41:12Cassandra: Okay, Kelly, you have a call to action, it's a free five-day journal.
- 41:22Cassandra: Tell us about that.
- 41:25Cassandra: There's in in your as I was reading, there's a free five-day journey sent to listeners inbox.
- 41:32Cassandra: What is that about?
- 41:33Kelly: Yeah, for sure.
- 41:34Kelly: We could give that one.
- 41:35Kelly: I'll give you another one as well if someone wants to move move into that.
- 41:39Kelly: So we created this during the time of one of my book launches.
- 41:43Kelly: Um, it's called The Writer Within.
- 41:46Cassandra: Okay.
- 41:46Kelly: And it really helps to awaken the inner muse and creativity within yourself.
- 41:52Kelly: This doesn't have to be done to write a book.
- 41:55Kelly: This can be just getting your creativity, your flow, and some clarity moving.
- 41:59Kelly: So every day that brings forward a teaching, a practice, and some journaling practices.
- 42:06Kelly: I'd also love to give listeners the quiz that we discussed that will really bring people deeper into their into their soul calling.

- 43:07Cassandra: You even talked about identifying what it is that they're fearing and then where is it coming from, the core, and then take the action as a result of it.
- 43:17Cassandra: So you have provided some very, very, I would say, steps that can help people.
- 43:25Cassandra: And I always say, if you want the help, you'll get the help.
- 43:30Cassandra: You know, you you get out of it what you put into it.
- 43:34Cassandra: And I know I have listeners that are tired of being stuck, tired of looking so good on the outside, but feeling so lost on the inside.
- 43:43Cassandra: And I appreciate you giving them that guidance.
- 43:46Cassandra: I appreciate the nine questions, which was really good.
- 43:51Cassandra: I think I'm gonna, I'm thinking I'm gonna do that.
- 43:53Cassandra: Yeah, and then the writer within opposed to the five-day journey sent.
- 43:59Cassandra: So they have an opportunity to get to any of those.
