- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simon Show, Live from the w o
- 0:04Speaker 1: R Life Back studios. Well, a lot going on, all right.
- 0:11Speaker 1: There was an attempted terrorist attack on the UFC fight
- 0:15Speaker 1: at the White House, Uh, Sunday night. We'll get to that.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We'll get to I ran the deal, nobody likes it.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We'll get to sy Vance. Uh. Uh, We'll get to
- 0:28Speaker 1: Jdvan Si. Vance was our uh district attorney here in
- 0:33Speaker 1: New York.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Uh.
- 0:35Speaker 1: JD. Vans he's got some unusual activities today that he's doing.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We'll get to that. Coming up. We'll get to Epstein.
- 0:42Speaker 1: There's some interesting information there. We'll get to Mom Donnie.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We'll get to the knick. Of course, we'll get to
- 0:48Speaker 1: the parade and Gavin Newsom and a whole lot more so.
- 0:52Speaker 1: The investigation is underway into Gavin Newsom. Apparently it's been
- 0:57Speaker 1: underway for weeks now. He is no about it because
- 1:01Speaker 1: a lot of documents have been subpoened.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:05Speaker 1: They've been issuing grand jury subpoenas to people to testify.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So knew some new about this for weeks and decided
- 1:11Speaker 1: to make it public and to go on the counter attack.
- 1:16Speaker 1: And of course, why howdia you know defend yourself in
- 1:19Speaker 1: this and well, you claim it's Trump. It's law fair.
- 1:22Speaker 1: He's out to get me because I'm running against him.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You claim all that kind of stuff.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my
- 1:29Speaker 3: mean tweets. He's coming after me because I'm considering running
- 1:33Speaker 3: for president, because he hates that I've consistently called him
- 1:37Speaker 3: out over and over again for his lies and deceit.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not used to being attacked Trump. Oh, it
- 1:43Speaker 1: must have really shook him up to be attacked for
- 1:45Speaker 1: the first time anybody now, Actually, uh, and that's funny.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Newsom still will not admit he's running. Keeps saying he's
- 1:53Speaker 1: considering running, and he used the old Trump line, He's
- 1:58Speaker 1: not coming after me, He's coming after you and all
- 2:00Speaker 1: that stuff. A big part of this is his wife, Jennifer.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That's who really has got the problem. They're scrutinizing the finances,
- 2:10Speaker 1: the salaries and the transactions, payments and stuff from her
- 2:15Speaker 1: nonprofit that she was running, the Representation Project. This is
- 2:20Speaker 1: her nonprofit where you can raise money in certain ways.
- 2:24Speaker 1: It's a nonprofit, it's a charity. It's at five oh
- 2:27Speaker 1: one C three. But apparently some money they believe went
- 2:30Speaker 1: from that into her for profit film production company. Now
- 2:36Speaker 1: you can't do that. That's illegal. In other words, if
- 2:39Speaker 1: you're a charity and you receive money into your charity,
- 2:43Speaker 1: you can give it to other charitable causes. It's charity money.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It can only go to charitable stuff. It can't go
- 2:49Speaker 1: to for profit stuff. Otherwise, every con man would just
- 2:56Speaker 1: set up a charity, raise money for his charity and
- 2:58Speaker 1: then transfer it over to him or to his own business.
- 3:01Speaker 1: You can't do that. So they're examining. And this is
- 3:04Speaker 1: a lot millions of dollars in donations that the Newsom's
- 3:08Speaker 1: solicited for this nonprofit, millions and millions of dollars. And
- 3:13Speaker 1: Newsom has his own nonprofit, the California Partners Project, including
- 3:18Speaker 1: funds from all kinds of people. And remember he's the governor,
- 3:22Speaker 1: so a lot of people donate to his charity, hoping
- 3:25Speaker 1: to ingratiate themselves with the governor. Now, if any of
- 3:28Speaker 1: that money got transferred to anything else except charity, he's
- 3:33Speaker 1: got a problem. There's former staff, his former chief of
- 3:38Speaker 1: staff is being investigated and the former chief of staff,
- 3:42Speaker 1: Dana Williamson, pled guilty to federal fraud and tax charges.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Now this was in a separate matter, but did admit
- 3:52Speaker 1: to federal fraud and tax charges. Separate matter. But Jogly
- 3:58Speaker 1: the type of guy this was. If it's Dana, a
- 4:00Speaker 1: guy or a woman, I don't know, but there's some definitely,
- 4:05Speaker 1: definitely could have a problem of going through documents.
- 4:07Speaker 3: They're demanding records, they're abusing the grand jury process, digging
- 4:11Speaker 3: through years and years of random documents.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Well, I think that's what you do an investigation with
- 4:17Speaker 1: a grand jury. I think you go through records.
- 4:19Speaker 3: In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors
- 4:22Speaker 3: of family, friends and former employees, not because they found
- 4:26Speaker 3: a crime, because they're simply trying to find one.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Well, but again, from what I hear, it's not just smoke,
- 4:34Speaker 1: there's some fire here. You know. This is the same
- 4:37Speaker 1: defense that John Bolton used. And of course in the end,
- 4:42Speaker 1: even he had to admit he was one thousand percent guilty.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It wasn't just law fair. He really was guilty. This
- 4:49Speaker 1: happens so even in the case of Hillary Clinton, although
- 4:53Speaker 1: the dirty cop called me was in charge and let
- 4:56Speaker 1: her go into decline to prosecute, he did admit in
- 4:59Speaker 1: that press com she was guilty as hell of taking illegally,
- 5:03Speaker 1: taking all sorts of classified documents, top secret classified stuff,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and putting it on her home computer. So case of Bolton,
- 5:11Speaker 1: case of Hillary made it sound like they were being
- 5:14Speaker 1: targeted because they were Trump enemies. Turns out they were
- 5:17Speaker 1: both very very very guilty.
- 5:20Speaker 3: In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors
- 5:23Speaker 3: of family friends.
- 5:24Speaker 1: We already heard that. Here's another one. This is more newsome.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Donald Trump is simply the most corrupt president in American history.
- 5:33Speaker 3: He's turned the lovers of government into his own personal
- 5:36Speaker 3: power ministries to reward cronies and to try to jail
- 5:40Speaker 3: his opponents. So let me say it again, mister president,
- 5:44Speaker 3: come after me. I'm not going anywhere, and the country
- 5:47Speaker 3: is watching.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so that sounds pretty good there, But again it's
- 5:53Speaker 1: the same stuff John Bolton said, And it turned out
- 5:55Speaker 1: he was absolutely guilty of everything he was accused of.
- 6:01Speaker 1: And you know, Democrats knew some all these times that
- 6:03Speaker 1: they love hyperbole.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Donald Trump is simply the most corrupt president in American history.
- 6:12Speaker 3: He's turned the lovers of government into his own personal
- 6:15Speaker 3: power ministries to reward cronies and to try to jail
- 6:18Speaker 3: his opponents.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Think that I think that was Biden and America Garland,
- 6:22Speaker 1: if I recall, I think I think it was Robert
- 6:25Speaker 1: Muller and Andrew Wiseman. I think that was going on
- 6:29Speaker 1: for four years, and this guy never ever said a
- 6:32Speaker 1: word about it. Hey, the Knicks Championship. The parade is
- 6:37Speaker 1: Thursday morning.
- 6:39Speaker 4: And part of the reason, mayor part of the reason
- 6:42Speaker 4: we're having this parade on Thursday, is to ensure the
- 6:44Speaker 4: players have enough time to bring their families because they've
- 6:47Speaker 4: been working their entire life for this.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, well, I think that's normal. Everybody brings
- 6:53Speaker 1: their family to the parade. Give them time. How much
- 6:55Speaker 1: time does it take to get your family here? You
- 6:57Speaker 1: got a day or two. So they had big apparently
- 7:01Speaker 1: the Knicks, you know, they flew back from San Antonio.
- 7:06Speaker 1: They got back, and then that night they had a
- 7:08Speaker 1: huge private party just for themselves at the exclusive the
- 7:14Speaker 1: exclusive membership club, the fly Fish Club. This is down
- 7:18Speaker 1: the Lower East Side. If you go in there, it
- 7:21Speaker 1: doesn't it doesn't look so exclusive. You got to be
- 7:24Speaker 1: a member or a coman a member. It's not exactly
- 7:27Speaker 1: the Metropolitan Club. It's it's not exactly the University Club.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's it says exclusive. But it just looks like a
- 7:33Speaker 1: Lower east Side nightclub with a doorman. That's about all
- 7:36Speaker 1: it is. But the Knicks had quite a party there.
- 7:38Speaker 1: The parade through the Canyon of Heroes Thursday starts at
- 7:42Speaker 1: Battery Park ends at City Hall where they have a
- 7:44Speaker 1: big ceremony there. Now it turns out that James Dolan
- 7:51Speaker 1: about well, I think it was about ten weeks ago.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I went into the locker room and gave them a
- 7:55Speaker 1: ten minute pep talk speech. It was quite moving. You
- 7:58Speaker 1: can go online and see it, but he videotaped it
- 8:01Speaker 1: and it's up online. It's pretty powerful about what it
- 8:04Speaker 1: could mean. You know, these are all young guys, and
- 8:08Speaker 1: he said to them, you know, I don't know if
- 8:10Speaker 1: you really know how significant this will be receiving the
- 8:14Speaker 1: winning the championship. He said, it will change your lives.
- 8:18Speaker 1: It'll follow you for the rest of your life. It's
- 8:21Speaker 1: a great thing. It was quite a speech, so I
- 8:23Speaker 1: don't know if you understand what it would mean. It
- 8:25Speaker 1: will stick with you for the rest of your lives.
- 8:27Speaker 1: And if you don't win, you'll be thinking about it
- 8:29Speaker 1: for the rest of your life. But if you win,
- 8:31Speaker 1: it'll be life changing and if you do win, this
- 8:35Speaker 1: team will be belonging up in the rafters with the
- 8:37Speaker 1: nineteen seventy Knicks and the nineteen seventy three Knicks. It
- 8:41Speaker 1: was a pretty powerful speech. And then he told them
- 8:43Speaker 1: he would they would each have a championship ring. He
- 8:47Speaker 1: even said, and I promise you, I'll buy a ring
- 8:49Speaker 1: for each one of your significant others because their contributions
- 8:53Speaker 1: are very important to this team. That's a pretty generous thing. Now,
- 8:57Speaker 1: a championship ring about two thousand dollars. There's different championship rings,
- 9:03Speaker 1: even the World Series rings. All of that. They're made
- 9:06Speaker 1: by Balfour that makes the college rings, or Jostin's does
- 9:10Speaker 1: some teams. Barren is a new company some teams have used,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but it's the company makes the college rings. They just
- 9:16Speaker 1: make a bigger, fancier one. And sometimes when they make
- 9:20Speaker 1: a lot of these rings for the team and the
- 9:22Speaker 1: staff and the coaches, the player ones are eighteen Carrett gold.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Those are like thirty five hundred and four thousand, but
- 9:29Speaker 1: the staff ones are like fourteen carrot gold. Those are
- 9:33Speaker 1: like two thousand, and it's not unusual to give them
- 9:36Speaker 1: the wives. In fact, some years owners George Steinberner would give.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I mean, I got World series rings. George Steinberner would
- 9:42Speaker 1: give World series rings to his friends to There's a
- 9:47Speaker 1: lot of restaurants you can go to where the owners
- 9:48Speaker 1: got a World Series ring because George eight there. They're
- 9:52Speaker 1: often given out all the time, and usually for the wives.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Though it wasn't a ring, it was the top of
- 9:59Speaker 1: the ring chain. It was like a necklace. Really beautiful,
- 10:03Speaker 1: but quite a speech from Dolan. So Hey, jd Vance,
- 10:09Speaker 1: the vice president. Jd Vance will be on the View today.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Now he's got a book out. That's why you see
- 10:17Speaker 1: him on every show in the world. And he's been
- 10:19Speaker 1: on twenty seven shows in the last two days, and
- 10:21Speaker 1: every time he's on an exclusive interview, exclusive interview. I
- 10:24Speaker 1: just saw on seven shows in one hour, but it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: an exclusive interview. Today he'll be on the View with
- 10:30Speaker 1: those clucking hens. And I guess it's good. It'll create
- 10:37Speaker 1: some viral stuff, I guess, but I can't imagine there's
- 10:41Speaker 1: anybody watching the View who's going to buy a jd
- 10:44Speaker 1: Vance book, So I don't know what the point is.
- 10:46Speaker 1: He's also going to be on Megan Kelly's podcast. Now,
- 10:49Speaker 1: this is interesting because she's in a dilemma here. She's
- 10:55Speaker 1: what's known as a clickhore, do anything to go viral,
- 10:58Speaker 1: anything they clicks. That's why she says outrageous things all
- 11:02Speaker 1: the time. They call that a clickhore. There's plenty of
- 11:05Speaker 1: those around, but that's her. So she's got to decide
- 11:09Speaker 1: does she want to really beat them up and go
- 11:12Speaker 1: viral and get her clicks or something. She's trying to
- 11:16Speaker 1: worm her way back into Trump world. She's trying to
- 11:19Speaker 1: get back in the inner circle there. So will she
- 11:22Speaker 1: be nice to them? Will she be mean to them?
- 11:24Speaker 1: We'll see, we'll see. But again, she doesn't have a
- 11:28Speaker 1: big audience. It looks like she does. But again, she's
- 11:31Speaker 1: paying for clicks, paying for likes, paying for followers, all
- 11:35Speaker 1: that kind of stuff everybody, everybody alleges behind the scenes.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But she'll be doing that today. So and the other
- 11:44Speaker 1: thing you to remember the big publishers. If you're a
- 11:46Speaker 1: vice president, you get one of the top publishing companies
- 11:48Speaker 1: in the world. The big publishing houses, their public relations,
- 11:53Speaker 1: their PR department are always the worst, always the worst.
- 12:00Speaker 1: That's why all the great authors. I don't think vance
- 12:02Speaker 1: knew this, but all the great authors hire their own
- 12:05Speaker 1: top publicists to do the publicity. Because the publisher's publicists,
- 12:11Speaker 1: they're all twenty four years old. They got a list
- 12:14Speaker 1: of anything they can book you on, and they just
- 12:15Speaker 1: book you on anything and everything. But expect some fireworks
- 12:19Speaker 1: from the view today. You don't have to watch it.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Just wait till later and the clips will come out.
- 12:25Speaker 1: The Iran deal publicly, nobody likes it. They don't like
- 12:30Speaker 1: the idea of a deal. They don't like doing it.
- 12:33Speaker 1: President Trump says, it'll be good. You know, you got
- 12:37Speaker 1: to trust the guy. He knows what he's doing. This
- 12:39Speaker 1: may be not the final chapter. This might be a
- 12:43Speaker 1: middle chapter, this deal. It's basically punting down the road
- 12:46Speaker 1: for a couple of months. People say, you know, a
- 12:49Speaker 1: lot of people say, well, he's playing chess. He's a
- 12:52Speaker 1: chess player. Well, I don't know if you know this.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Iran invented chess. It was invented in Iran, so they
- 12:58Speaker 1: know how to play chess. There here's President Trump, o flee.
- 13:01Speaker 2: It's going to be a good relationship and we're going
- 13:03Speaker 2: to get along, and if we don't, we go back
- 13:06Speaker 2: to where we started. But I don't think it's going
- 13:08Speaker 2: to be necessary.
- 13:09Speaker 1: No, that's the key may look like a bad deal,
- 13:13Speaker 1: but if that's the case, go right back to bombing
- 13:17Speaker 1: the hell out of them.
- 13:18Speaker 2: He straight it's open now, but it opens completely wab
- 13:23Speaker 2: all the mines, knocks out them for the most but
- 13:26Speaker 2: we have a lot of aids right now already.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he opened the straight a couple of weeks ago
- 13:31Speaker 1: for ships we were sneaking him through. Basically, he did
- 13:34Speaker 1: get a hundred million barrels through the straits, which is
- 13:36Speaker 1: why oil is way way down. Hang on, let me
- 13:40Speaker 1: check here. Oil down three dollars again today it's at
- 13:43Speaker 1: seventy six dollars, seventy eight dollars a barrel. Seventy eight dollars.
- 13:48Speaker 1: That's down from like one hundred and ten down to
- 13:51Speaker 1: seventy eight. It's dramatically down. Oil is way down. Stock
- 13:56Speaker 1: market is way up. Rising to the fourth day in
- 13:58Speaker 1: a row. It's it fifty two thousand, that down. Nobody
- 14:02Speaker 1: ever dreamed they'd ever see fifty thousand. It's at fifty
- 14:05Speaker 1: two thousand. Unbelievable. Hey, by the way, SpaceX two hundred
- 14:11Speaker 1: and seventeen dollars a year. It's up. But don't worry,
- 14:14Speaker 1: they'll they'll be ups and down. So anyway, the deal
- 14:17Speaker 1: will be signed on Friday and then they'll release it
- 14:20Speaker 1: and let everybody read it.
- 14:21Speaker 2: This is a very powerful document and I want it
- 14:23Speaker 2: to be released, so probably pretty soon, I would say
- 14:27Speaker 2: after some time after Friday.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Friday, they're going to sign it in Switzerland. JD.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Vans will fly over there. He was a big part
- 14:34Speaker 1: of the negotiation to sign it.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Heels O sign and these trainers already partially opened. As
- 14:40Speaker 2: you know, they're doing a little hunting for a couple
- 14:44Speaker 2: of minds they've already found. But it's essentially ships is
- 14:50Speaker 2: starting to go out now. On Friday, it'll be completely opened.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah. So again publicly, I don't think anybody likes the deal. JD.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Vance gotten his name all over it as one of
- 15:01Speaker 1: the chief architects negotiators of this debt. You know, if
- 15:05Speaker 1: he wants to run, if it goes badly, then he's
- 15:08Speaker 1: stuck with that. You know, he's got he's got this
- 15:10Speaker 1: on his resume.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Now we'll be releasing the text this week and what
- 15:13Speaker 5: everybody will see is that Iran doesn't get a dime
- 15:16Speaker 5: of money unless they perform their obligations. And the money
- 15:20Speaker 5: that we're talking about is fundamentally sanctions relief. We're not
- 15:23Speaker 5: giving them American money. Not a single dollar of American
- 15:26Speaker 5: money will go to Iran.
- 15:28Speaker 1: All right, so there's gonna be a lot of criticism,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and of course that Obama will be all over the
- 15:32Speaker 1: place loose, is fundamentally innocence the deal that I signed, Yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 1: it's not even close. There's no resemblance anyway. We'll take
- 15:42Speaker 1: some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two one zero
- 15:45Speaker 1: seven ten is the number, eight hundred three to two,
- 15:48Speaker 1: one zero seven ten,
