- 0:04Speaker 1: I keep getting notified, company email. I have some outstanding
- 0:11Speaker 1: things that I have. I've got an expense report that
- 0:14Speaker 1: I've got to submit. Well, no, I've got to submit
- 0:18Speaker 1: the receipts for the expense report.
- 0:21Speaker 2: That's always fun. Such a drag. It doesn't take 10 hours.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And then I had mentioned to somebody, I think it
- 0:27Speaker 1: was Jeff. that I had this training video that I'm
- 0:31Speaker 1: supposed to do.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It takes a million years.
- 0:33Speaker 2: That's what he said. He goes, oh, my God.
- 0:35Speaker 1: He goes, dude, it takes forever.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Yeah, block out an entire day.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the longest one I've ever done. Two hours,
- 0:40Speaker 4: 15 minutes, dude.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 0:42Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 2: And it says this will take about a half hour.
- 0:45Speaker 4: It's horrible.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Because you have to click through every little thing. And
- 0:47Speaker 5: if the window's not up, it'll stop playing.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's super misleading because it says, okay, you're
- 0:51Speaker 2: on 18 of 23. You're like, oh, crap.
- 0:54Speaker 6: Good.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm getting there.
- 0:54Speaker 1: You guys all finished it already?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah. And then once you get to 23, okay, now
- 0:58Speaker 2: you're on one of 18. Yep. And then, okay, now
- 1:01Speaker 2: you're on six of 41. I think I never end.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Subsection 55.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It takes four and a half.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And this is a good use of our time. Oh,
- 1:07Speaker 2: it's so efficient.
- 1:07Speaker 1: What's this one about? Is it about, is it the
- 1:10Speaker 1: new sexual?
- 1:11Speaker 7: No.
- 1:11Speaker 2: No.
- 1:11Speaker 3: This is don't be mean to your coworkers.
- 1:13Speaker 2: It's just harassment in general. It's everything. Harassing and bullying.
- 1:16Speaker 5: I mean, it somewhat touches on sexual stuff, but yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 5: it's not strictly sexual.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Right. Yeah. Sexual.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Straight.
- 1:22Speaker 1: The sexual harassment training that we have to do every year,
- 1:24Speaker 1: but here's the thing The training video stuff has gotten
- 1:28Speaker 1: so out of control. It's almost like a full-time job
- 1:30Speaker 1: because every week it seems there's a new Training video
- 1:35Speaker 1: some are super short Some are just a document that
- 1:38Speaker 1: you have to acknowledge, but almost every week. It's a
- 1:41Speaker 1: new cover your ass and You know, from corporate. It's
- 1:45Speaker 1: not about learning. It's about. It's not covering your ass.
- 1:49Speaker 1: They can say if something comes up.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 1: And this is part of some kind of like consent decree. Like, oh, well,
- 1:57Speaker 1: someone tried to sue us for X, Y, Z. And
- 2:00Speaker 1: so now all employees undergo this training so they can
- 2:04Speaker 1: say the next time it comes up. Well, we have
- 2:06Speaker 1: our employees going through all the training. They understand everything.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You know, bullying.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever. Whatever this one is. And this one tries
- 2:12Speaker 2: to be all cutesy. It has basically like credits at
- 2:15Speaker 2: the end of the training. So it's like, John is
- 2:17Speaker 2: now working for, you know, McDonald's. And he's lived happily
- 2:21Speaker 2: ever after.
- 2:22Speaker 3: It's supposed to be like the office. It's handheld. And
- 2:24Speaker 3: then they sit in an office and do a talking hat.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It's horrible. Oh, my God. Horrible acting, dude.
- 2:28Speaker 7: Right.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Horrible.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But you know what? In the training videos that we've
- 2:31Speaker 1: had before, because usually every year, Jeff, this is your,
- 2:33Speaker 1: you know, first go around with us. The new sexual
- 2:37Speaker 1: harassment training video, we always have clips where it's like
- 2:41Speaker 1: two chicks talking about how, hey, so did you get
- 2:46Speaker 1: lucky this weekend? The guy who works in the office
- 2:51Speaker 1: pops his head over the cubes. Ladies, this conversation is
- 2:54Speaker 1: making me uncomfortable.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Bull ish.
- 2:57Speaker 4: This is to let you know it can go both ways. Well,
- 3:01Speaker 4: if you want clips, we got clips today.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Oh, you got clips of the new one?
- 3:04Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, me and Seabass.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 3:07Speaker 1: So does this mean I have to still take this
- 3:09Speaker 1: two-hour training?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Probably.
- 3:10Speaker 5: At the end of this training, the very last page says,
- 3:13Speaker 5: I certify that I myself took this training.
- 3:16Speaker 2: It doesn't pay anybody. This is credit.
- 3:17Speaker 5: For you for when you lie and have someone else
- 3:20Speaker 5: do that for you. This is the main thing. Because
- 3:23Speaker 5: we're all legal children.
- 3:25Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
- 3:25Speaker 5: When is it okay to touch people at work? And
- 3:28Speaker 5: they break it down for you.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 3:30Speaker 8: Whether it's okay to touch someone at work depends on
- 3:33Speaker 8: a variety of factors, such as the type of touching
- 3:36Speaker 8: and how well you know the person. and what they
- 3:38Speaker 8: find offensive. When thinking of various types of physical contact
- 3:41Speaker 8: and nonverbal behavior, it can be helpful to categorize behavior
- 3:45Speaker 8: as either red light, yellow light, or green light. Green
- 3:48Speaker 8: light behavior is usually appropriate in the workplace. Red light
- 3:52Speaker 8: behavior is never appropriate. And yellow light behavior may or
- 3:55Speaker 8: may not be appropriate, depending on the circumstances.
- 3:58Speaker 2: So like a hug.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Like no sex tapping.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Where's a hug? Oh, that's coming up.
- 4:02Speaker 4: That's coming.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Don't you worry. Finger banging? What if I cup Gina's boobs?
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah, because I want to know what red light is.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Well, let's start with a very simple one. First, before
- 4:12Speaker 5: we play this, Woody, since you haven't taken this yet,
- 4:14Speaker 5: do you think a handshake is green light, yellow light,
- 4:17Speaker 5: or red light behavior?
- 4:18Speaker 1: In a business environment, I would say green.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Okay, that's probably a good answer.
- 4:22Speaker 1: What if it's a sexual handshake?
- 4:24Speaker 8: A handshake is green light behavior. The law and workplace
- 4:28Speaker 8: policies do not prohibit all touching at work. Only that
- 4:31Speaker 8: which someone reasonably finds offensive.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And what if I take my one finger and use
- 4:35Speaker 1: it to tickle the palm of the other person?
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yellow.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And you whisper, meet me in the bathroom.
- 4:40Speaker 3: There's more where that came from.
- 4:41Speaker 5: What if I say, smell my finger?
- 4:44Speaker 8: That said, if someone prefers not to be touched in
- 4:46Speaker 8: any way, you should, of course, not insist on shaking
- 4:49Speaker 8: their hand.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 4:51Speaker 1: That works for me. I'll take that.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys, don't red light me.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:55Speaker 5: I'm going to shake your touch.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Wear a little name tag. No, thank you.
- 4:58Speaker 2: All right.
- 4:59Speaker 5: All right, so guys, up next, Woody. Do you think
- 5:02Speaker 5: a pat on the back is green light, red light,
- 5:04Speaker 5: or yellow light behavior?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Now, is it a pat or is it one of
- 5:07Speaker 1: those pats where it's kind of a half circle rub,
- 5:09Speaker 1: like wax on, wax off?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Am I rubbing the bra?
- 5:11Speaker 3: I think it's just an attaboy pat.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah, what if I snap their bra strap? It's yellow
- 5:17Speaker 1: for sure.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And ask them, do you like that? A pat on
- 5:19Speaker 2: the back?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yellow. See, that could be also, depending on the context,
- 5:25Speaker 1: could be seen as condescending. Oh, good for you.
- 5:29Speaker 5: You see that a lot in like street fights where
- 5:31Speaker 5: a guy's looking to fight you.
- 5:32Speaker 4: So like, hey man, what's up?
- 5:34Speaker 2: How you doing? Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 4: But this is the author.
- 5:36Speaker 2: What's your final answer? I'll say pat on the back
- 5:38Speaker 2: would be yellow. Oh, okay. Yellow, right? Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 7: All right.
- 5:43Speaker 8: A pat on the back is yellow light behavior as
- 5:46Speaker 8: it may or may not be appropriate. An innocent pat
- 5:49Speaker 8: on the back may be okay. However, an innocent pat
- 5:52Speaker 8: on the back can become something more sexual, such as
- 5:55Speaker 8: a pat on the back followed by rubbing the back.
- 5:57Speaker 2: There you go.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Especially when the hand slides right down to the coin slot.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, now you're the top of the crack of their ass.
- 6:03Speaker 4: A little sweaty.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You say, damn, that is a nice ass. And as
- 6:07Speaker 1: you're doing it, you go, mm.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Mm. And you say, wow. Well, then, you know, since
- 6:14Speaker 2: we're doing.
- 6:15Speaker 9: Green, yellow, and red, I want you guys to answer
- 6:18Speaker 9: this to me because this happened in this building. by
- 6:21Speaker 9: somebody who no longer works here. When I was sitting
- 6:24Speaker 9: at my desk just typing something out, is it green, yellow,
- 6:28Speaker 9: or red light behavior to take a sharpened pencil and
- 6:31Speaker 9: put it down the back of a girl's jeans?
- 6:34Speaker 2: And then do you rub it up and down?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah, rub it up and down vigorously.
- 6:37Speaker 2: And ask, do you like that? If someone looks like Greg,
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'd be okay. If someone looks like Tyler, it would be.
- 6:45Speaker 5: And are you dropping the pencil down the ass crack
- 6:47Speaker 5: because the ass crack is exposed?
- 6:48Speaker 4: No.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Go hunt for it?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Yeah, go hunt for it. And then you make a
- 6:53Speaker 3: big deal about how funny you are.
- 6:54Speaker 10: Well, going to Woody's question, is the person hot or
- 6:58Speaker 10: are they not?
- 6:59Speaker 2: True.
- 7:00Speaker 3: They're fine, but I'm not trying to date them.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Then not hot.
- 7:04Speaker 2: They're okay.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Yeah, guilty. All right.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I would never think to do that.
- 7:09Speaker 1: You wouldn't?
- 7:10Speaker 2: No.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yeah, because you're a decent human being.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Well, no, I wouldn't do it. Even around me, I
- 7:13Speaker 1: told you, ever since the Me Too thing sprung up
- 7:15Speaker 1: and everybody's like, It used to be very common where
- 7:19Speaker 1: somebody you'd see, they go, oh, hi. They come in
- 7:21Speaker 1: for the hug. I always extend my hand for the handshake.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And they go, I'm a hugger. At that point, none
- 7:29Speaker 1: of it bothers me. The hug, the handshake doesn't bother me.
- 7:32Speaker 1: But I am not just going in for the hug.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Or I'm putting my hand out to make it clear that, hey,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I extended my hand for the handshake. If you say,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm a hugger, and you come in for the hug,
- 7:40Speaker 1: that's on you.
- 7:41Speaker 4: That's on you.
- 7:41Speaker 2: But what if you give them the warning, like, I'm
- 7:43Speaker 2: a groper. You know? Well, you're a hugger?
- 7:46Speaker 4: Cool.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I'm a groper.
- 7:47Speaker 5: I'm a patient bonerer.
- 7:48Speaker 9: Right.
- 7:49Speaker 2: So code of conduct.
- 7:50Speaker 1: What's the next one?
- 7:51Speaker 5: Well, let's go right to hug, then.
- 7:52Speaker 11: Hug. Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I'm going to say they're going to say hug is
- 7:56Speaker 1: probably red.
- 7:59Speaker 2: This is the company saying this, right? I took the
- 8:01Speaker 2: training and I don't remember.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, because you don't have to answer any of
- 8:03Speaker 5: these correctly. You just click through until it says no.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I took it on mute.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I have no idea. Me too. I haven't heard it yet.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I only took it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You better be careful with those hugs.
- 8:10Speaker 8: A hug is yellow light behavior. Before giving someone a
- 8:15Speaker 8: hug or touching a person in any way in a
- 8:17Speaker 8: work environment, You should ask yourself, could the touching be
- 8:20Speaker 8: interpreted as sexual?
- 8:22Speaker 1: Well, if I'm like hugging him from behind and pushing
- 8:24Speaker 1: my boner up against him.
- 8:25Speaker 2: And going.
- 8:26Speaker 1: That could be. And the reverse cuff.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Or like, let's just say someone has like really great breasts, Greg.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You know, like you go in for the hug and
- 8:34Speaker 1: you just want to feel them pressed against your chest.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Smush them up against you. And then they're about to
- 8:38Speaker 2: let go and you go, uh-uh.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Keep going. Yeah.
- 8:42Speaker 10: All right.
- 8:44Speaker 1: What's next?
- 8:45Speaker 2: All right. This one. Standing too close. Oh. Yeah. Like
- 8:50Speaker 2: close talkers.
- 8:51Speaker 4: This is the funniest one in my mind because now
- 8:54Speaker 4: we have to think about the distance we are close.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:58Speaker 2: So just standing too close. Hovering. Is this red, green,
- 9:02Speaker 2: or yellow?
- 9:02Speaker 4: I do love this question because the close talkers, man.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I'm going to say that's yellow because that depends, right?
- 9:11Speaker 2: It's kind of subjective, right?
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll say yellow.
- 9:15Speaker 8: Standing too close to someone is red light behavior.
- 9:18Speaker 1: What?
- 9:19Speaker 8: Indeed, some people purposely stand very close to others so
- 9:22Speaker 8: that they can accidentally bump into them.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Brush your hand.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Whoopsie.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Accidentally drag my tongue across your neck.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Weirdo. By accident. Yeah, just by accident.
- 9:36Speaker 8: In this manner, they can enjoy the contact or close
- 9:38Speaker 8: proximity or perhaps the feeling of power over the person.
- 9:42Speaker 8: At the same time, They can claim that they didn't
- 9:44Speaker 8: mean anything by it or that the touching was an accident.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Somebody said, is this training turning anybody else on?
- 9:49Speaker 10: This one was more difficult because the past ones, it
- 9:54Speaker 10: was like, you know, if it was the old white dude,
- 9:57Speaker 10: he was always doing something wrong.
- 9:59Speaker 2: So you could decide.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Did he do something wrong?
- 10:01Speaker 2: He'd say, yes. Well, it was the white guy, so
- 10:02Speaker 2: of course. Man, yes. White, yep. Yes. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Guilty.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Give me one more.
- 10:07Speaker 5: All right, how about this one? Menace's favorite. massages at
- 10:11Speaker 5: the office. Red light, yellow light.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Every once in a while they have the chair massage
- 10:18Speaker 1: people coming in.
- 10:21Speaker 3: They're professionals.
- 10:21Speaker 2: That's for mothers.
- 10:22Speaker 5: You're sitting at your desk, here comes Greg with his hands.
- 10:27Speaker 1: In general though, if standing too close is red, that's
- 10:30Speaker 1: got to be red, right?
- 10:32Speaker 3: Yeah, if Menace just comes up and he's like, what
- 10:34Speaker 3: do you look tense?
- 10:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 8: Massaging a co-worker's shoulders is red light behavior. Even if
- 10:39Speaker 8: the recipient welcomes the massage, the behavior doesn't belong in
- 10:43Speaker 8: a professional workplace.
- 10:45Speaker 1: If I work at Massage Envy.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yeah, then what?
- 10:55Speaker 8: As the people that report to them may not feel
- 10:57Speaker 8: comfortable asking them to stop.
- 10:59Speaker 1: What a good productive use of time at work.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Two hours of this?
- 11:04Speaker 3: Minimum.
- 11:05Speaker 4: You're missing some of the light racism yet. We haven't
- 11:07Speaker 4: got even into that. And then the creepy bosses that
- 11:11Speaker 4: want you to go out and F the clients.
- 11:13Speaker 2: There's so much more. All right. Well, let's take the break.
- 11:15Speaker 2: You have more clips?
- 11:17Speaker 4: We do.
- 11:17Speaker 1: A lot more learning.
- 11:18Speaker 2: All right.
- 11:18Speaker 1: So we'll do some more learning. We'll see.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I want to hear about the creepy client. You will
- 11:25Speaker 2: F him.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Allegedly.
- 11:25Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't know.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Maybe that's cool. Could be green light.
- 11:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Are we trying to close the deal or not?
- 11:31Speaker 11: Right.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Gotta please the client.
- 11:34Speaker 1: This is The Woody Show. Yeah, I was just looking.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I guess today is the last day that I have
- 11:45Speaker 1: to complete this training.
- 11:47Speaker 2: You better start now.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It's weird that I just got the eBay. It just
- 11:51Speaker 1: came through maybe 10 minutes ago. So while we were
- 11:54Speaker 1: discussing all the other ones about hugging and massaging.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Just set aside four hours and get it done.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Jeff, what was the one that you were talking about?
- 12:02Speaker 1: Was it the date?
- 12:04Speaker 8: Oh.
- 12:05Speaker 4: The creepy client?
- 12:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 4: So we'll set up the scenario here. First of all,
- 12:10Speaker 4: there's a client that meets someone at this fake conference
- 12:13Speaker 4: that they put out.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 4: And he wants to go out with one of the reps.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Listen to this.
- 12:17Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So this is the employee training that we all have
- 12:20Speaker 1: to do here at the radio station. This took over
- 12:22Speaker 1: two hours for people to complete. And it's all this
- 12:25Speaker 1: dumb stuff, code of conduct training. And it's what's going
- 12:29Speaker 1: to make this a better workplace. So, yeah, here's the scenario. Tracy,
- 12:33Speaker 1: my favorite part of these conferences, seeing my best client rep.
- 12:37Speaker 4: What's up, Alex?
- 12:38Speaker 1: My session is just about to start.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Oh, I won't keep you.
- 12:41Speaker 12: Just wanted to lock you down for dinner tonight.
- 12:43Speaker 2: You, me, someplace nice.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Oh, I've got a pretty packed schedule.
- 12:48Speaker 2: You can spare one dinner.
- 12:49Speaker 8: Alex, I don't think it's a good idea.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Come on.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Have fun.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I couldn't control myself. I'd climb you like a tree.
- 12:56Speaker 4: So this is the client trying to hit on the rep.
- 12:59Speaker 4: On the rep.
- 12:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:00Speaker 4: And so, you know, if that happens, according to this
- 13:02Speaker 4: harassment training, you're supposed to go to your boss and
- 13:04Speaker 4: let him know that you're not really cool with that.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That the client is hitting on you.
- 13:09Speaker 4: We know situations like this. Guess what happens.
- 13:12Speaker 5: And let me tell you, you're not cool with that
- 13:13Speaker 5: because he's not attractive.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 13:16Speaker 2: That's the rule.
- 13:18Speaker 5: That's part of the process.
- 13:19Speaker 3: You guys are obsessed with how these dudes look.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I just put myself in these women's positions.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Wow.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You got one mode.
- 13:29Speaker 4: But what happens when your boss is as much of
- 13:31Speaker 4: a perv as the client is?
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, then what? Listen to this.
- 13:34Speaker 1: All right.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Alex just asked me to dinner again.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Perfect. Where are you going to go? I don't want
- 13:40Speaker 2: to offend him.
- 13:40Speaker 3: But I'm just not really interested in going out to
- 13:42Speaker 3: dinner with a client.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You are tonight. Yeah. Do you want to keep your job? Yeah.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Have you seen those third quarter numbers? Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 1: We've got to close this deal.
- 13:50Speaker 2: You're going to do a lot more than just dinner.
- 13:52Speaker 10: Right.
- 13:52Speaker 1: This just feels like it would be more of a date.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And I'm not really interested in going out on a
- 13:57Speaker 1: date or anything like a date with a client.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Do what you want. But keep in mind, we're going
- 14:05Speaker 2: to be looking for someone to fill that team lead spot.
- 14:10Speaker 6: It wouldn't hurt to show you're dedicated.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we need a real go-getter, you know?
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yeah, someone enthusiastic.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Lisa, you know how to fix this. You just hire
- 14:19Speaker 4: a pro to go take out the client.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Have you ever heard of a do-whatever-it-takes kind of attitude?
- 14:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's what we're looking for.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I thought you were a closer.
- 14:27Speaker 1: That's what we're looking for in a tech.
- 14:28Speaker 2: You raise a good point.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Why not pay, I don't know, how much, $ 500 or whatever,
- 14:31Speaker 5: $ 1, 000 to hire a professional to And then have her,
- 14:35Speaker 5: during the middle of your dinner, come up and start
- 14:37Speaker 5: flirting with the client.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I don't know anybody who's ever done that before.
- 14:40Speaker 1: No.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Ever.
- 14:43Speaker 1: No.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Your hands are clean.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Everyone's happy.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know anybody who's done that.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Or is that in this training? All right.
- 14:50Speaker 4: So besides the sexual harassment, there's a bunch of stuff
- 14:52Speaker 4: on racism, too, including accents. And this is pretty funny.
- 14:56Speaker 2: All right. Here we go. More of our.
- 14:59Speaker 1: This has got to count towards some of my... You'd
- 15:02Speaker 1: think so, but no.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I'm going through it here. I'm getting it all right.
- 15:04Speaker 11: There's one other thing about the top candidate for the
- 15:06Speaker 11: project manager role. She's got a pretty noticeable accent. I
- 15:10Speaker 11: had no issue with understanding her, and neither did the
- 15:13Speaker 11: hiring committee, but she's obviously from another country.
- 15:17Speaker 2: She is from Germany.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Is she from Germany?
- 15:21Speaker 4: So what's the issue?
- 15:22Speaker 1: I'm wanting her to talk at the conference. Did she
- 15:25Speaker 1: play in Munich?
- 15:28Speaker 11: I'm wondering if that will create problems with the team
- 15:30Speaker 11: she's going to lead. And given that concern, I think
- 15:34Speaker 11: it may be better to select someone else.
- 15:36Speaker 8: Could not hiring the top candidate because of her accent
- 15:39Speaker 8: violate the law?
- 15:40Speaker 4: What do you think, Woody?
- 15:41Speaker 2: This is not racism. This is just bigotry.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Voicism?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Voicism, yes.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Not hiring, you know, okay. Well, didn't we already, we
- 15:52Speaker 1: kind of had that, right? Like we were not hiring
- 15:54Speaker 1: the best candidate because, like it was the opposite, right? Like,
- 16:00Speaker 1: wasn't that the whole DEI thing?
- 16:02Speaker 2: Oh, oh. You mean in life we already had that?
- 16:04Speaker 2: I thought you meant we already had that in training.
- 16:06Speaker 1: No, I'm saying that people were hiring people who weren't
- 16:08Speaker 1: necessarily the best, most qualified.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Put yourself in the position of somebody taking this training
- 16:14Speaker 2: where the answers are very obvious.
- 16:16Speaker 4: What do you think? Very obvious answer. I think you're
- 16:18Speaker 4: going to say that's a problem. Very obvious answer.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They're probably going to say it's a problem, right?
- 16:23Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I would think.
- 16:24Speaker 8: Although the candidate's accent is very noticeable... It doesn't appear
- 16:28Speaker 8: that her accent will interfere with her ability to do
- 16:31Speaker 8: her job. Employers can require an employee to speak English
- 16:34Speaker 8: fluently if fluency is needed to do their job.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:38Speaker 4: All right. And that'll lead us up to the last
- 16:40Speaker 4: and final one, which is the most hilarious one in
- 16:42Speaker 4: my mind. Listen to this. It's about speaking Spanish at work.
- 16:47Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:47Speaker 7: You know, Luis and Sam on my team, they both
- 16:50Speaker 7: speak Spanish pretty much every day at lunch, and it
- 16:52Speaker 7: really gets.
- 16:52Speaker 2: On my nerves.
- 16:53Speaker 7: I usually eat at my desk, but I've noticed it
- 16:55Speaker 7: whenever I go in the break room when they're having lunch.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I think it's rude.
- 16:59Speaker 7: That they speak a language most of us can't understand
- 17:01Speaker 7: when both of them can easily speak English.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And who knows?
- 17:05Speaker 1: They could be making fun.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Of me or other people.
- 17:07Speaker 6: They are.
- 17:08Speaker 7: It's damaging to our team around. So I'm going to
- 17:10Speaker 7: announce tomorrow that from now on, everyone has to speak
- 17:14Speaker 7: English at all times in our workplace.
- 17:16Speaker 8: Could ordering everyone to speak English at all times at
- 17:19Speaker 8: work violate the law?
- 17:22Speaker 3: I can't eat a straw bun, Louise.
- 17:26Speaker 5: So wait, everybody's arguing for people to be made fun
- 17:28Speaker 5: of in the workplace is what.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It sounds like here.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Exactly. They get to make fun of you. That's not
- 17:33Speaker 2: cool either, dudes. Come on. I'd imagine that might be
- 17:36Speaker 2: a problem.
- 17:36Speaker 10: I did work at a place though like this where
- 17:39Speaker 10: it was mandatory to speak English.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I did too.
- 17:41Speaker 9: I worked in a place where they made it very
- 17:43Speaker 9: clear no speaking other languages at work.
- 17:45Speaker 4: That is wild.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 8: Employers should not demand that employees speak English at all
- 17:50Speaker 8: times in the workplace, including when they are on their
- 17:52Speaker 8: lunch break. Employers can institute an English-only rule, but only
- 17:56Speaker 8: if it is necessary to ensure the safe or efficient
- 17:59Speaker 8: operation of the business and is justified by business necessity.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:03Speaker 9: The CEO I worked for thought it was annoying and
- 18:06Speaker 9: he said just English.
- 18:07Speaker 4: I worked at an electronics store and they're like, yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 10: English only, and the only other rule was no curry
- 18:13Speaker 10: in the microwave.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Straight up.
- 18:16Speaker 1: That's legit.
- 18:17Speaker 4: That was the rule.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Well, I think we really learned a lot.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, made some headway here.
- 18:24Speaker 5: I'm going to still give massages. I don't care what
- 18:25Speaker 5: they say.
- 18:27Speaker 2: And I'm going to go speak.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Spanish wildly in the hallways right now.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I think I'm banging that client, depending on what my
- 18:31Speaker 1: numbers look like. Well, it's a delivery driver appreciation week
- 18:39Speaker 1: here on the Woody show and a menace met the
- 18:43Speaker 1: driver downstairs. We're going to bring him in now.
- 18:45Speaker 2: And, uh, Oh, there he is. What is, uh, what
- 18:53Speaker 2: is your name, sir? How you doing, man? Well, happy.
- 18:58Speaker 1: It's a delivery driver appreciation week here on the show.
- 19:01Speaker 1: So we're, uh, We're just throwing out some extra gift
- 19:04Speaker 1: cards to delivery drivers who bring us stuff every day.
- 19:06Speaker 2: How long have you been doing this? How long have
- 19:08Speaker 2: you been delivering?
- 19:08Speaker 6: I just started doing it like eight, nine months ago.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Oh, nine months. How's it going so far?
- 19:12Speaker 6: It's doing all right. I'm doing it for like, you know,
- 19:14Speaker 6: side hustle.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's perfect.
- 19:15Speaker 2: A little side hustle. What else do you do? What
- 19:17Speaker 2: other kind of work do you do?
- 19:18Speaker 6: I actually go back and forth out of the country.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 19:22Speaker 6: I got other things going on.
- 19:23Speaker 2: He's got other things.
- 19:24Speaker 1: He's got other irons in the fire.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And he's got other.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Deliveries from what I understand. So we're not going to
- 19:28Speaker 1: take up a lot of your time. Anyway, thank you
- 19:29Speaker 1: for bringing everything. That was a very quick delivery. That
- 19:32Speaker 1: was pretty good. A lot of people have a hard
- 19:33Speaker 1: time navigating this office complex that we're in here. All right,
- 19:36Speaker 1: so on the wheel is a bunch of different gift cards.
- 19:38Speaker 1: You spin it. Spin it towards you, like to the left.
- 19:41Speaker 1: And then whatever it lands on is what you're gonna
- 19:42Speaker 1: get alright here we.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Go hard hard hard there you.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Go nice that's a good that's a good quality spin
- 19:50Speaker 1: from a guy who's never spun that wheel before that's
- 19:52Speaker 1: really that's really.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Strong and I'm loving his outfit by the.
- 19:56Speaker 8: Way alright very cute come on big money big money
- 20:00Speaker 8: come on come on big money big money let's go.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Let's do this come on come on come on come

- 20:07Speaker 3: What do we got what do we got.
- 20:09Speaker 9: $ 50.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Amazon gift card $ 50 Amazon gift card in case there's
- 20:18Speaker 1: any issue with the gift card this is a little
- 20:19Speaker 1: receipt that when you call to find out what's going
- 20:21Speaker 1: on they're going to ask you for that information there
- 20:23Speaker 1: you go I want to make sure you know so
- 20:24Speaker 1: you don't tear that part off hey dude thank you
- 20:26Speaker 1: so much happy delivery driver appreciation you want to shout
- 20:32Speaker 1: anybody out while you're here like any friends family anything
- 20:35Speaker 1: I don't have a lot of friends. Not a lot
- 20:36Speaker 1: of friends.
- 20:36Speaker 2: No, he's a lone wolf.
- 20:37Speaker 3: That's so sexy.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Hey, we'll be your friends. Thank you. Nice to meet you.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Thank you very much.
- 20:41Speaker 2: All right, there you go.
- 20:42Speaker 1: There's a delivery driver.
- 20:43Speaker 8: Success.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Appreciation success.
- 20:47Speaker 10: Love it.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Another gift card out the door.
- 20:49Speaker 3: He plays it close to the vest, I hear.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was like, oh, we can't hear him. Well,
- 20:53Speaker 1: I mean, these aren't professionals when it comes to being
- 20:56Speaker 1: in here in these studios with these microphones. As much
- 20:59Speaker 1: as we try to say, like, you gotta talk right
- 21:00Speaker 1: into the microphone. He's a delivery guy.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Pulled him in here with no advanced training.
- 21:07Speaker 1: All right, so speaking of food, this woman, she is
- 21:11Speaker 1: suing Torchy's Tacos in Austin.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 21:14Speaker 4: For $ 250, 000.
- 21:14Speaker 11: Jeez.
- 21:14Speaker 1: After she nearly swallowed a cow's tooth. That was in
- 21:23Speaker 1: her takeout taco.
- 21:24Speaker 3: I saw this. A cow's tooth is disgusting looking. Way
- 21:28Speaker 3: worse than ours.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I never would have thought that's even a possibility.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw this picture.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So she bit into her barbacoa taco, felt something hard,
- 21:35Speaker 1: spat out this large tooth. Her lawyer was doing all
- 21:39Speaker 1: this stuff. Torchy's Tacos confirmed that it was indeed a
- 21:43Speaker 1: cow tooth.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Don't you love when they're like, oh yeah, our bad.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And they say that their barbacoa comes from natural beef cheek.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And the chain says that this can occasionally happen during processing.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 21:55Speaker 7: Wow.
- 21:55Speaker 1: But she wants... I.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Mean, did she break a tooth? I understand it's gross, but...
- 22:01Speaker 2: She wants $ 250, 000. But a quarter of a million dollars
- 22:03Speaker 2: for something gross?
- 22:05Speaker 3: You just give her a free taco.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like when you buy lettuce or whatever in
- 22:10Speaker 1: the bag, and every once in a while there's like a...
- 22:12Speaker 1: You know, fly or bugs, something like that in there.
- 22:15Speaker 3: You're supposed to rinse your taco before you eat it.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I mean, ladies, I'm sure you don't want a tooth
- 22:19Speaker 1: in your taco.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Do not want it. That's why you rinse your taco before.
- 22:23Speaker 2: You eat it. If it broke a tooth, then sure.
- 22:26Speaker 9: Yeah, but $ 250, 000 tooth or your teeth make a hole.
- 22:29Speaker 2: A little hyperbolic. Yeah, that's a little much.
- 22:32Speaker 3: They are gross, though.
- 22:33Speaker 1: There's a war going on to neighboring gas stations in Georgia.
- 22:37Speaker 1: There's an Amoco and a Sunoco. And they got into
- 22:41Speaker 1: a price war. That bottomed out at 97 cents a gallon.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Hell yes.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Rules.
- 22:47Speaker 1: All right.
- 22:49Speaker 2: So how and why are they doing this? Because, I mean,
- 22:52Speaker 2: that can't be a moneymaker, right?
- 22:53Speaker 11: Right.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Well, the one place has a policy where they have
- 22:57Speaker 1: to be five cents below the other place.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Oh, that's funny.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Like, I think the one place just wants to be
- 23:01Speaker 1: five cents below, you know, whatever Sunoco's charging.
- 23:05Speaker 3: So AMCO's like, oh.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah. So they got like a gas war going on.
- 23:11Speaker 9: So basically, Sunoco is just trolling them by going, oh,
- 23:13Speaker 9: you got to go lower than this.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Well, I mean, how does that work out for them?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Because they got to be losing money, too, right?
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 2: So word spread about this battle.
- 23:21Speaker 1: The traffic got gridlocked there in the street. The police
- 23:23Speaker 1: showed up. They shut it down. Oh, come on. But
- 23:26Speaker 1: as you can imagine, while it lasted, man, people were pumped.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We were in September.
- 23:30Speaker 5: It was 254.
- 23:31Speaker 11: Then it went down again.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Then it went down again.
- 23:33Speaker 1: When we pulled in, it was 144.
- 23:35Speaker 2: $ 139. I call my mama, sister, my brother.
- 23:39Speaker 9: Yes!
- 23:40Speaker 2: Look at God, baby! Look at God! Yeah, she was pumped. Awesome.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I'd bring extra containers.
- 23:47Speaker 2: So the consumer gets a great deal, and they shut
- 23:50Speaker 2: it down.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Shut it down.
- 23:51Speaker 2: How stupid.
- 23:52Speaker 10: I never see them shutting down the Costco, and there's
- 23:56Speaker 10: crazy traffic there.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Another woman filled her truck for 15 bucks instead of
- 24:00Speaker 1: the usual $ 90.
- 24:02Speaker 3: What decade is this?
- 24:03Speaker 1: And says, quote, it's like Christmas.
- 24:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Both stations reset their prices the next day. So the
- 24:09Speaker 1: greatest gas sale in modern history lasted exactly one day.
- 24:13Speaker 3: What's the cheapest.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Gas you can remember in your life?
- 24:17Speaker 2: In my lifetime? Even as a kid. It was like
- 24:19Speaker 2: 90 some cents. Yeah, I think mine was like 89 cents.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it was like 80.
- 24:23Speaker 2: 90 some cents, 1998 in Missouri. Whoa.
- 24:28Speaker 9: For $ 2, I could get a decent, you know, I
- 24:30Speaker 9: could get home and back a few times.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Mine was like 89.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that. Yeah, 1989 and then 87. Oh, 1989, yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Mine was, I got to do math, 86?
- 24:42Speaker 6: 1987.
- 24:42Speaker 12: So you're talking about the, okay, when you say 86,
- 24:46Speaker 12: I'm thinking 86 cents a gallon. Well, no, in 87,
- 24:50Speaker 12: I remember when I got my license, the car that
- 24:52Speaker 12: I was driving just took regular and it was 89
- 24:55Speaker 12: cents a gallon.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Yeah. crazy i know yesteryear dude and i
- 24:59Speaker 2: also grew up in this town where there were four
- 25:02Speaker 2: gas stations on one corner and some of them had
- 25:05Speaker 2: remarkably lower prices than the other and they they were
- 25:08Speaker 2: all full i'm like do you not see that it's
- 25:10Speaker 2: cheaper right there why are you right next door.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You're going this way we've talked about how we work
- 25:14Speaker 1: down the street from there were like a starbucks on
- 25:16Speaker 1: three out of the four corners.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Yeah it was like that but with gas stations you
- 25:19Speaker 2: gotta go to the good one do i say appreciation wrong.
- 25:23Speaker 1: We say it again Appreciation?
- 25:24Speaker 9: I guess it's because you're saying appreciation, not appreciation.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Appreciation?
- 25:29Speaker 2: Okay, say it normally, the way you say it.
- 25:32Speaker 1: So Delivery Driver Appreciation Week.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Appreciation.
- 25:35Speaker 2: You do say appreciation.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I do?
- 25:36Speaker 3: Appreciation. Say appreciation.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Appreciate.
- 25:41Speaker 3: No.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Oh, you do say it wrong.
- 25:42Speaker 3: You do say it weird.
- 25:43Speaker 2: So what is it? Appreciate. Appreciate?
- 25:46Speaker 3: I'm never going to say that.
- 25:48Speaker 2: You don't have to say appreciate. You don't have to
- 25:50Speaker 2: do it like that.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Just slow it down. Just say appreciate.
- 25:54Speaker 2: There you go.
- 25:55Speaker 3: There you go.
- 25:56Speaker 4: That's how you do it.
- 25:58Speaker 3: The elocution teacher.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Grammar Nazi menace.
