- 2:28Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's been raining all day here in
- 2:31Long Island, New York. If you like the rain, well, I
- 2:35like dancing in the rain. I don't know if anybody's done
- 2:37it. I've done it many, many times.
- 2:39It was misty today. I was acting like a Jackass over
- 2:42there at Math Mather and I was dancing on the sidewalk.
- 2:47And then these girls, I guess nurses, were walking around
- 2:50getting their cardio and they were looking at me and thought I
- 2:52was absolutely nuts. So I am a little nuts.
- 2:55If you don't listen to this show, you would probably know
- 2:57that I'm little, little nuts, a little nutty.
- 3:00But yeah, I, I like to do stupid things.
- 3:03Usually half the day. And then as we move forward
- 3:06later in the day, I do even more interesting things.
- 3:09But nevertheless, I wasn't doing anything that got me in trouble.
- 3:13So that's a good sign. Jabba, what's going on with you,
- 3:15man? I know you've been doing your
- 3:16cardio. You're eating your yogurt.
- 3:18You're staying healthy. 36 lbs down right now, Mr. Chamberlain.
- 3:25Nothing. It got up to 88 today, so it was
- 3:27kind of hot. 88 over there. Right now, yeah, it's, I mean,
- 3:31we were what it was down to like 48 I think last week.
- 3:34And now back up to we'll have like a few days of this, then
- 3:37I'll go back to the normal. We'll see if we actually get
- 3:39some fall weather, which will be nice because the fall around
- 3:42here, when leaves start changing and everything, that's always,
- 3:45always a good time around here. I like the fall, I like the
- 3:48fall, I like when the leaves are falling down.
- 3:50The only thing I hate about the fall is when all the leaves are
- 3:53off the trees and you got to clean up and it gets wet and
- 3:57soggy. The leaves get wet and soggy and
- 3:59if you're doing are you cleaning off the lawn?
- 4:01It takes forever to clean up, and that's what.
- 4:03You have to do Do you bag your leaves or do you mulch them?
- 4:06IA lot of people over here they don't even do it.
- 4:09What they do is they hire all these different companies to do
- 4:12it for them because I live in a very yeah, they I live in a very
- 4:15rich neighborhood, so they're all they're all hiring people to
- 4:19do it. They don't even want to do it.
- 4:20My landlord, he, he actually enjoys doing it.
- 4:24So he mulches them. Sometimes he picks it up
- 4:26depending on where it is because he's got a lot of trees and a
- 4:30lot of bushes. So you got to go in it and you
- 4:32got to pull it out. So usually in the bushes he's
- 4:35bagging them, on the on the grass he's usually mulching
- 4:39them, but he's very particular on how he takes care of his lawn
- 4:43and his property. I've had some bad experiences
- 4:46jumping into leave piles with sticks when you're a kid you
- 4:49don't like as a grown up, you think about it because you know
- 4:52you're doing it for your kids. But then as a kid, like you
- 4:54don't care. Like I'm just jumping in.
- 4:56I've been stabbed with sticks so many times.
- 4:58But those are the fun memories you remember as a kid jumping in
- 5:01to leave piles and playing, playing pickle in the front
- 5:04yard. Those are all at the good time.
- 5:06What the hell is playing between the trees?
- 5:08Oh. I I between.
- 5:09The trees, man. Playing pickle here is a
- 5:11completely different thing to do.
- 5:13I mean, if you're playing pickle, you're getting yourself
- 5:15into trouble. You might go to jail, if you
- 5:17know what I mean. Yeah, well, we're not, we're not
- 5:19playing yet hiding the pickle. We're playing rundown.
- 5:23I don't know, like Sandlot, right?
- 5:27That's, I mean pickle. See the pickle you're from?
- 5:32You're from Long Island, dude. It's a who knows what who's
- 5:35knows what's going in your orpis.
- 5:36Is over there orpis is? Speedy finally knows what that
- 5:42is after about two months. No, I don't cuz I don't cuz
- 5:46Errol's laughing. I know it's something like that.
- 5:49Yeah. He wouldn't crack up that hard
- 5:51unless it was involving something about me.
- 5:53Well, I I don't. Like no, we we all have them.
- 5:57Yeah, I believe it. Speedy likes to play with his
- 6:01own fiddle. You know he doesn't.
- 6:03He doesn't like to climb Roof is, if you know what I mean.
- 6:09Anyways, yeah, it's been a a crazy week and I know a lot of
- 6:13people are enjoying their time. Sports is really starting to
- 6:17pick up. You got the football season.
- 6:19We're going already in Week 2. It's crazy.
- 6:22We have a big game coming up on Thursday Night Football.
- 6:25You have the Packers, Yes, two possible playoff team sitting
- 6:30there right now, the commanders and the Packers.
- 6:32The Packers, we saw what they did in game number one against a
- 6:35very good line team and the commanders absolutely demolished
- 6:39the New York Giants and, and the Giants, you know, they, they
- 6:42stayed close. But I, I want to see Daniels,
- 6:45Jaden Daniels actually pick up his game a little bit better
- 6:48against this Green Bay Packer team.
- 6:49And they're going into Green Bay.
- 6:50It's going to be loud. People are going to be crazy
- 6:53over there. And it's not a cold time.
- 6:55So I guess the commanders are going into Green Bay at the
- 6:58perfect time. They don't have to deal with
- 7:00that freezing or what do they call it, the frozen tundra over
- 7:03there. You don't want to go over there
- 7:05in Green Bay when it's cold and you have all these people
- 7:08wearing no shirts. I have no idea.
- 7:11Has anybody watched these Green Bay Packers soccer games in, in
- 7:14the month of January? These the fans are nuts.
- 7:17They're nuts. It's below 0 and they're sitting
- 7:20out there with just their underwear and, and no shirt.
- 7:23No, no pants, no nothing. It it does, I don't know how
- 7:27they do it. I would probably, I'd probably
- 7:29go to the hospital after the game because I would probably
- 7:32have frostbite in many different areas.
- 7:34If you know. What they're not.
- 7:35They're not the only place, though.
- 7:36The Bills do it. Yeah, a lot of cold places.
- 7:39Not, not as many, I don't think. Java there's enough.
- 7:43There's enough players that try to be cocky and try to do it to
- 7:46warming up shirtless before the games, AKA the 2016 New York
- 7:49Giants. Everyone can play about the boat
- 7:51trip, then everyone else's on offense is warming up shirtless.
- 7:55I think besides Eli Manic. I didn't.
- 7:59I didn't like to like when it was cold and they're obviously
- 8:02playing a little bit different, but like when I would warm up
- 8:04when it was cold, I didn't like to sit in front of the like the
- 8:08warmer or the heater or the fan just because I wanted to.
- 8:11I wanted to warm up like it was going to be, It's not like I
- 8:13have a fan, a heater blowing on me when I'm in the game.
- 8:16So as soon as I'd get called, I would stretch, I would have my
- 8:19jacket on. But as soon as I would, I would
- 8:21get warm. I would, I would have them turn
- 8:23it off or turn it towards the guys that were sitting in the
- 8:25pen. I just, I, I didn't like it.
- 8:27And to be Tommy tough nuts where they're on the field and like
- 8:29their bodies are steaming and stuff.
- 8:31I'm like, no, no. I like that tick, Tommy.
- 8:34Tough nuts. Tommy is not playing with his
- 8:36nuts right now over here at the board.
- 8:38I don't know where Tommy is. What happened to Tommy?
- 8:42Tommy Poops is not in the studios right now.
- 8:44That's an interesting story. Jabba, by the way.
- 8:46He probably fell in. Probably fell in the pooper.
- 8:49I maybe drown in the pooper. It doesn't make any sense.
- 8:52I usually go that. Far.
- 8:54Well, I'm a little lost today. There's a lot of stuff going on
- 8:57in the world. I'm not going to mention it.
- 8:59We don't go into politics, but it's crazy.
- 9:01The world is crazy. And that's why we try to take
- 9:04you away from all the politics and all the craziness and, and
- 9:07you get a chance to sit down and, and, and, and listen to our
- 9:11takes, what's going on in sports and, and the craziness.
- 9:14And it kind of keeps you away from all the nutty stuff that's
- 9:18going on where you just want to either jump off a bridge or jump
- 9:22off a building because it's just nuts right now all over the
- 9:26world. But nevertheless, we have a
- 9:27great show lined up for you. But I want to give a shout out.
- 9:30I was hanging out yesterday at Miller's Ale House with one of
- 9:34my good friends, Leaf. He's the manager of Miller's Ale
- 9:38House. I, I reached out to him.
- 9:39I said I'm coming up and he, he, me and him sat and we were
- 9:42speaking about sports for 2 1/2 hours.
- 9:44He's a big sports fan. And I got to hang out with Danny
- 9:47Speedy, I know you love Danny, Crazy, crazy Danny.
- 9:51So we, we really enjoyed ourselves.
- 9:53We were talking baseball and football and fantasy is in our
- 9:57fantasy right now. He's under the fantasy league.
- 9:59So I want to give a shout out to my friend Leaf.
- 10:02He's by the way, he's engaged, he's getting married next year.
- 10:06He's very excited and I'm excited for my pal.
- 10:08I've I've been friends with him since middle school.
- 10:11Absolutely love him. So congratulations to Leaf and
- 10:15very excited for him and his future with his future wife.
- 10:18So shout out to the Leaf boy. In an electric fourth quarter
- 10:22comeback by the Vikings and quarterback JJ McCarthy,
- 10:26Minnesota took down the rival and their rival, the one and
- 10:31only Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.
- 10:33The Vikings were down 17 to 6 after JJ McCarthy threw a pick
- 10:38six and out outscored the Bears 21 to 7 in the rest of the game.
- 10:43McCarthy finished 13 for 20 for 143 yards, 2 passing touchdowns,
- 10:491 interception with two carries for 25 yards and a rushing
- 10:53touchdown. The Bears have 3 blown fourth
- 10:56quarter leads since the second-half of last year and
- 11:00have lost ten of their last 11 total games.
- 11:04The Bears offensive line struggle despite their offseason
- 11:08improvements, allowing 3 sacks while Caleb Williams scrambling
- 11:13was almost half of the Bears rushing attack.
- 11:17Williams was effective for new coach Ben Johnson, going 21 for
- 11:2235 with 210 passing yards and a touchdown with 58 more on the
- 11:28ground with a rushing touchdown in a losing effort on a prime
- 11:35time channel, baby. And you know what channel we're
- 11:37talking about. But here's the thing, I, I, I
- 11:41love Caleb Williams. I love everything about him.
- 11:44I followed him all the way through USC and, and well, we
- 11:49all know what Caleb Williams was with, with Lincoln Riley.
- 11:52This is a guy that has a tremendous amount of talent.
- 11:54He is his ability to move outside of the pocket, make
- 11:57throws. I compared his talents to Aaron
- 12:00Rodgers. That's the type of player he is.
- 12:03He is sensational to watch. He can do so many things on the
- 12:07football field that would just make you just say wow, this guy
- 12:10is as good as anybody we've seen at the quarterback position come
- 12:14out of the draft over the last ten seasons.
- 12:17The problem with Caleb Williams is his mouth.
- 12:19He blabbers things. He does things off the field.
- 12:23He speaks to the media wrong. He goes into the, I guess the
- 12:27video room, sitting down with players, the quarterback room,
- 12:31as a story came out recently before the season started that
- 12:35Kayla Williams couldn't sit in with the quarterbacks because
- 12:39they were attacking him on the way he looked at plays, the way
- 12:42he didn't see the plays. And Ben Johnson is a very
- 12:46particular person offensively. You know, the type of coach he
- 12:49is. You saw what he did with the
- 12:51Lions. He transformed the Lions offense
- 12:54for the last 5-6 seasons. So we know what Ben Johnson is.
- 12:59Ben Johnson walking into this Chicago Bears, Bears
- 13:03organization, you would have thought this would have changed
- 13:06a little bit. This is not Eberfluse.
- 13:08We all know whateverfluse was when he took over this job,
- 13:11almost Four Seasons over there with Chicago, you wondered if
- 13:15Eberfluse was ever going to figure it out as a head coach,
- 13:17and he didn't. They had Justin Fields.
- 13:20He couldn't develop Justin Fields.
- 13:22Then they kept them. Chicago kept ever flew stand for
- 13:25another year. They had it.
- 13:26He had a chance to coach Caleb Williams.
- 13:28It didn't work out. So what did Chicago do?
- 13:31Well, Chicago went into the offseason and they said, you
- 13:35know, we got to find the best offensive mind we possibly can.
- 13:38They landed the best offensive coach available in this past
- 13:43offseason. And what did it do and what did
- 13:45it show in game number one? Well, it shows some interesting
- 13:50information. We saw that Caleb Williams was
- 13:53effective, but only in the first half.
- 13:56In the second-half, Kayla Williams started putting himself
- 14:00into bad situations, throwing the ball in bad situations.
- 14:04He sometimes threw the ball away and, and and he was trying to
- 14:08throw it over the shoulder pass and he was missing wide
- 14:11receivers open in many different parts of the game, especially in
- 14:15the third and fourth quarter. Kayla Williams, to me, if you
- 14:18can get into his mind, he's not the same quarterback and you
- 14:22could see that. And I love what Chicago did in
- 14:25the offseason, adding Tooney and and some of the additions they
- 14:28added to the offensive line. But in the second-half, you saw
- 14:32Minnesota defense, and I'm going to tell you this, Minnesota
- 14:35defense is one of the best defenses in the league,
- 14:38especially how they blitz and they use their different blitz
- 14:40packages, bring up safeties and corners.
- 14:43You saw that in the fourth quarter.
- 14:45They put a lot of pressure on Caleb Williams and that offense.
- 14:48And the one thing I can say that Ben Johnson is so very good at
- 14:52is running the ball. And by the way, they couldn't
- 14:55run the ball in this game no matter who they were handing the
- 14:58ball to. The only person that can run the
- 15:00ball is Gayla Williams. And to me that is a problem.
- 15:04If your best runner is your quarterback and you're not
- 15:06getting any running from Swift or any of the talented players
- 15:10and playmakers that they have in the backfield, you have a
- 15:13problem. And you go and get some
- 15:15Minnesota Viking team that also has a rookie quarterback, JJ
- 15:18McCarthy, who missed his rookie season because he tore what was
- 15:22it, his knee or is Achilles. He.
- 15:25Tore his knee. He was out a whole season.
- 15:27This is his rookie season. And in the first half of the
- 15:30game, a lot of people were taking shots at JJ McCarthy.
- 15:33As a matter of fact, Fish was right there going back and forth
- 15:37telling me all JJ McCarthy doesn't look like he's the real
- 15:39deal, blah, blah, blah blah blah blah, blah, blah, blah blah.
- 15:42On social media, everybody was saying that JJ McCarthy is a
- 15:44bust. And then what happened in the
- 15:46fourth quarter, JJ McCarthy settled down.
- 15:49He realized that he has Justin Jefferson on the same team.
- 15:53He made some, you know, quite, quite nice you unusual passes to
- 15:58some of the open guys that he was getting the ball to.
- 16:01And he started using his legs, which he's going to be very,
- 16:03very good at because he's a mobile quarterback.
- 16:05And you got a chance to see a national championship champion
- 16:09player at work at the quarterback position.
- 16:13And why we've heard Jim Harbaugh, who is a very
- 16:16successful college coach and is a very successful NFL coach,
- 16:21come out and say that JJ McCarthy could be the best
- 16:24quarterback in that class. And you're talking about a class
- 16:27which Bo Knicks has shown up to show everybody that he could
- 16:30play and quite a few other quarterbacks that came out of
- 16:32that class. The fact is.
- 16:34Let me ask you a question though.
- 16:36When when you said you can get into Caleb's mind, right?
- 16:40OK, yeah, they're both technically rookies.
- 16:42But do you think like the mental part of the game is is just as
- 16:45much as you work on as a physical aspect?
- 16:48Do you think that year that JJ, because he didn't see panic in
- 16:51him when it was kind of going downhill, do you think him being
- 16:54on the sideline being hurt made him do this more think about it
- 16:58than actually being thrown in the fire and being able to slow
- 17:01it down? I think when he was put in that
- 17:03position to where, yeah, they're both rookies, but he got to see
- 17:07it from the sidelines. He wasn't competing and and
- 17:11doing it at that level. So he had that time and we've
- 17:13seen there and Rogers, the world where they sat behind guys,
- 17:16where we've seen how much that has added value to their game
- 17:20without necessarily throwing them to into the fire
- 17:22immediately. I think that JJ McCarthy is a
- 17:27guy that has a very good coach, a very good offensive mind, and
- 17:30O'Connell that's going to sit there.
- 17:32He's going to explain the XS and the OS on the sideline.
- 17:35You saw, especially in the first half is when JJ McCarthy was
- 17:38getting uncomfortable in in the pocket.
- 17:40You saw after he sat down that the coach sat with him during
- 17:45breaks. He was talking to him, showing
- 17:48him what he saw on the pad. And it it, it explained a little
- 17:51bit to JJ McCarthy what O'Connell would have saw as a
- 17:55starting quarterback on an NFL team.
- 17:57Remember, O'Connell was an NFL quarterback.
- 18:00He was a backup quarterback. But this is a guy that has
- 18:02experience. He worked under Kyle Shanahan.
- 18:05He's worked on a Sean McVeigh. He's worked under good coaches,
- 18:08good offensive minds and O'Connell could go go down as
- 18:11the better, the more talented one out of both those guys if he
- 18:14can develop a quarterback. O'Connell never had a chance to
- 18:17develop his own quarterback. He was handed Cousins, He was
- 18:21handed quarterbacks when he took over the job.
- 18:24So now he has a chance to develop one quarterback, which
- 18:28he's never got a chance to do. And, and I agree with you,
- 18:30Jabba, I think the fact that he has been in these experiences
- 18:34before, he's been in a national title game, he's been in
- 18:38positions where maybe he wasn't playing well or maybe he wasn't
- 18:41seeing the field like he should. He settled down and he realized,
- 18:46hey, listen, I'm a good quarterback.
- 18:48I can make the throws. I got the players on the field
- 18:51and I can use my legs. And you saw that in the fourth
- 18:53quarter, JJ McCarthy, you could see calm down.
- 18:57And as soon as he threw that touchdown to Justin Jefferson,
- 19:01he really started to to feel it and understand what he was
- 19:05seeing on the field. And then everything started to
- 19:08slow down in front of him. And you hear it from
- 19:10quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes said in in his
- 19:12first season, it took six games for him to settle down and, and
- 19:16the game to slow down in front of him.
- 19:18I think JJ, I'm not saying it's slowed down.
- 19:21It's going to slow down now after the first game.
- 19:24But I, if you heard what he said after the game, he said that in
- 19:28the fourth quarter, everything started to slow down.
- 19:30I started seeing things that the coach was telling me on the
- 19:34sidelines. I felt more comfortable stepping
- 19:36into the pocket or moving outside of the pocket and making
- 19:40my my passes and, and, and again, he had a running game.
- 19:44He had Aaron Jones that could catch the ball in the backfield
- 19:47and make plays with his legs. And that was the difference in
- 19:50the game. I think Aaron Jones didn't have
- 19:52one of the best games that that he possibly can have, but Aaron
- 19:55Jones did enough to take the pressure off the young
- 19:59quarterback so he can get settled in and.
- 20:01Get calmed down and play and make the plays that he needed
- 20:05to. So I, I, I think the fact is
- 20:08we're asking and there's a lot of questions.
- 20:10Is this the same old Chicago Bears and is this the Minnesota
- 20:13Viking team that we could believe that is going to
- 20:16challenge the Detroit Lions in the future and the Green Bay
- 20:20Packers in a division that's fully loaded and I'm telling you
- 20:23absolutely loaded because I believe this is the best
- 20:26division in football. I again, Chicago is a team that
- 20:30I think is going anytime I worry for Chicago because they decided
- 20:34to part ways with Justin Fields and now that Ben Johnson's here,
- 20:38maybe Ben Johnson would have found the best attack with maybe
- 20:43a Justin Fields. You could see the difference
- 20:45with Aaron Glenn and Justin Fields, how much it's worked in
- 20:48one game. Maybe Ben Johnson an offensive
- 20:50mind, a valued, you know, scrambling quarterback like
- 20:55Justin Fields. That's the type of quarterback
- 20:57that Ben Johnson can flourish with.
- 20:59I don't know. Caleb Williams is kind of like
- 21:01that, but he's got a better arm. The fact is, Caleb Williams is
- 21:05hard to deal with. I've heard stories.
- 21:07He thinks he's bigger and better than he should be.
- 21:10And he he he has this ego. And when you go out there over
- 21:15and over and over again, and we've seen it, Russell Wilson's
- 21:17one of them. Just think about it.
- 21:19Russell Wilson won a Super Bowl with one of the greatest
- 21:22defenses of all time. And Russell Wilson gets pat on
- 21:25the back that he was the reason why they won the Super Bowl.
- 21:28And when they threw, when they threw that interception, when he
- 21:31threw that interception, what it was a year or two years later
- 21:35and, and, and, and the interception of, of that ruin
- 21:39the game and, and it cost him another Super Bowl.
- 21:41Everybody's going to say, well, Russell Wilson that he, that was
- 21:45his chance to prove himself. And he never got a chance to go
- 21:47over that and he never could have looked past that.
- 21:50And I think that really decided eventually that Russell Wilson
- 21:55wasn't the guy anymore that they had to move on from Russell
- 21:58Wilson. Russell Wilson is to me a very
- 22:00comparable quarterback to Kayla Williams, a guy that wasn't
- 22:04drafted at the number one pick like Kayla Williams, but a guy
- 22:07that right off the bat took the job from Matt Flynn and
- 22:11eventually had a chance to work in with a, a, a great coach.
- 22:15And Pete Carroll that understands how to win
- 22:17championships because he won a national championship, actually
- 22:20won two of them. You you with USC and then
- 22:24eventually struggle because he couldn't get along with his own
- 22:26teammates. I think that could be a problem
- 22:29in Chicago. I don't know if he's going to
- 22:31get along with his teammates and eventually his teammates are
- 22:34going to give up on him and, and, and eventually put him in a
- 22:38put Ben Johnson. Who's the who's the one to step
- 22:41up? And, and I mean lack of a better
- 22:43term, put him in his place, right?
- 22:46I think it's Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson's a young coach.
- 22:48Ben Johnson's the one that everybody it was speaking so
- 22:52highly about how he transformed the Detroit Lions offense and
- 22:55completely turned them into a Super Bowl contender.
- 22:58And a lot of people think Ben Johnson's the guy that's going
- 23:01to do that with Chicago. I know me and Aaron pick the
- 23:03Bears, the win against Minnesota in Week 1 and what happened?
- 23:07They choked in the fourth quarter.
- 23:09This is very Bear like. We've seen this before.
- 23:13Like The Jets, they can't finish Minnesota Soda.
- 23:16Say whatever you want about them, they're a team that finds
- 23:18a way to finish. Go look.
- 23:20But they also have Justin Jefferson and Chicago.
- 23:23Look at the weapons they have. DJ Moore is a great wide
- 23:25receiver. You got, you got Odunze, who is
- 23:30is going to be hopefully one of the elite wide receivers and
- 23:34young receivers in the league. They've got weapons.
- 23:36Why weren't they using those check downs that Ben Johnson
- 23:40likes to use? Remember the Lions, the Lions
- 23:42had all these running backs, Montgomery and Gibbs, and then
- 23:46he had, he had guys like St. Brown and, and, and great tight
- 23:50end play. He had, he has more weapons
- 23:53right now with Chicago than he had with the Lions.
- 23:56Why weren't they? They're using their wide
- 23:58receivers in their tight ends for check downs.
- 24:00There was no check downs in the fourth quarter and I think could
- 24:03put Caleb Williams in a position to make mistakes and he made a
- 24:07lot of them, that's for sure. Yeah, it's a tough break when
- 24:10you look at the Bears and how well they played defensively
- 24:12through 3/4. And you would think the offense,
- 24:14the way that Ben Johnson likes to do it, is going to be able to
- 24:16close out that game. And I think like you were
- 24:18mentioning, a lot of it has to do with the offensive line still
- 24:20having to figure things out. I think to an extent though, a
- 24:23lot of these players, the skill players that they have, are
- 24:25still on the streak your side. DeAndre Swift had his best year
- 24:30in 2021 with Ben Johnson, but still has been a relatively
- 24:33streaky running back since then. Tight ends are still trying to
- 24:35figure it out Come. That's a good all around guy.
- 24:37Not really a a huge threat as a receiver, but can do a little of
- 24:41everything. Then you got Colson Loveland or
- 24:42they drafted a top ten pick over Tyler Warren, which a lot of
- 24:45people thought was a bold pick at the time and really he didn't
- 24:48get targeted much either. Where are those other options
- 24:51going to come from if Chicago's off?
- 24:52I was, I was looking at the game and I, I didn't see, did
- 24:55Loveland even get the you got 2. Catches 2 catches for like.
- 24:58I didn't even see I, I wasn't watching the full game because I
- 25:01was doing the show. I was hosting the show.
- 25:03But when I was watching the game and I was glimpsing on the game,
- 25:07I didn't see Loveland get targeted enough.
- 25:09This is a guy that has tremendous speed, has great
- 25:12hands. Everybody thought he might have
- 25:14been the steal and the best tight end in the class and they
- 25:18he didn't throw him the ball enough.
- 25:20And he's the kind of guy and, you know, in Ben Johnson's
- 25:23offense, he loves using the tight ends as he loved using the
- 25:26tight ends with the Lions. He elevated TJ Hawkinson after
- 25:30he had a couple injury riddled seasons to get him some trade
- 25:33value in 2022. Then they traded him to the
- 25:35Vikings that year and you remember even after that those
- 25:37other random tight ends broke out.
- 25:39Remember those two that were going off against The Jets that
- 25:41one week and a couple other games down the stretch?
- 25:43The Lions were playing spoilers and almost made the playoffs a
- 25:45lot because of the way he used the tight ends.
- 25:47Then obviously Laporta has the big rookie year.
- 25:49You did not see that kind of thing in that game.
- 25:51Now, I give Brian Flores some credit to obviously Vikings have
- 25:53always been a great job along with the Broncos, but those are
- 25:55probably the two best like blitz defenses in the league where
- 25:58where they discussed. Should have had a job, should
- 26:00have had a job in the 100%. He wasn't even interviewed by
- 26:03The Jets. He wasn't interviewed by three
- 26:05or four of the teams that were looking for head coaches for
- 26:07some reason. And a lot of the reasons why
- 26:09Brian Flores, we all know the back end with Miami and and
- 26:13suing the Miami Dolphins and, and a lot of people didn't like
- 26:16that. A lot of owners did not like
- 26:18what Brian Flores was trying to do and trying to bring racism
- 26:22into the game. But again, he's not wrong for
- 26:25what he believed. He was mistreated by Miami.
- 26:28He should have been treated a lot better and a lot of a lot of
- 26:30owners don't want to deal with that.
- 26:32Yeah, and also you look at the way that Flores was able to
- 26:34establish that culture with that defense, too.
- 26:36Remember, Mike Zimmer kind of wore out their players towards
- 26:38the end of his tenure, too. And while he was a good coach, a
- 26:41lot of players were taking shots at him and kind of towards the
- 26:43end and they needed somebody to revitalize that defense.
- 26:46That 2022 defense was so bad and then all of a sudden he takes
- 26:48over and they are very good. And you saw what he did to that
- 26:51offense in throughout that game in the second-half of the season
- 26:54or second-half of the game, 10 points.
- 26:56They allowed pick six and made it look like 17.
- 26:58But again, the offense took a while to get going.
- 27:00But again, I was a bit skeptical with McCarthy, too.
- 27:02I thought he was a kind of a more basic quarterback.
- 27:04He made some very good intermediate throws, too.
- 27:06Granted, Chicago was down to corners.
- 27:08At the same time, though, it's a lot of stones for a rookie
- 27:10quarterback in prime time to do what he did down 17 to 6.
- 27:14So you got to give JJ McCarthy credit there.
- 27:15Spread the ball around nicely. Jefferson gave him confidence
- 27:18and they use. That right now, I trust.
- 27:20Speedy, hold on. Great, great usage of the word
- 27:23stones. Wow.
- 27:25Well, that was impressive. He doesn't have any stones, we
- 27:27all know that. But well, I don't know but that
- 27:30that. Flowed.
- 27:30He doesn't know how to use his. Stones.
- 27:31That is one of the last analogies I thought you'd do.
- 27:35You would use. That was speedy.
- 27:37Hats off to you, but wow that was impressive.
- 27:39Well, don't take that hat off. Hey, I'm not ashamed.
- 27:44I told you I love you. Jobs away from bald.
- 27:46And I said I love you, I love you.
- 27:48Dabba gave me a comment just now.
- 27:49I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna criticize
- 27:52anything. And that was genuine.
- 27:55That wasn't savior. Two years old, I know, but he's
- 27:58he's not wrong. JJ McCarthy played very well in
- 28:02the fourth quarter when you probably would have thought that
- 28:05he would have given up or not realized that he was playing in
- 28:08an NFL game. And this is not the college game
- 28:11where he's going to find a way to run the ball and try to get
- 28:13in the end zone. He did more than that.
- 28:15He, he saw the field a little bit different in the fourth
- 28:18quarter and he used his best player.
- 28:21And when he figured out how to use Justin Jefferson, everything
- 28:24thing changed in the fourth quarter.
- 28:26Justin Jefferson had how many catches in the fourth quarter?
- 28:28I think it was like 4 or five. When you're having those kind of
- 28:31catches in the fourth quarter where it opens up the offense,
- 28:34then it starts to give him the opportunity to use his legs,
- 28:37which he wasn't using really throughout the game.
- 28:40I thought it was completely different when he was doing that
- 28:44in the fourth quarter. And I think it was unique.
- 28:46And I, and I think O'connell's a guy that I trust.
- 28:48I, I trust the way he calls games.
- 28:50We saw what he's done over the last couple years.
- 28:53It's, it's very comparable to a Kyle Shanahan, the way he likes
- 28:56to call plays and you see the difference.
- 28:58The only thing that I could say that Justin, JJ McCarthy needs
- 29:02to do more of is use his legs. This is a guy that is very good
- 29:07at seeing the field. I, I know Jim Harbaugh, one of
- 29:10the reasons why he recruited JJ McCarthy was the ability that he
- 29:14had mobility and the way he can move inside and out of a pocket.
- 29:18If he does that, I think he could be one of the more unique
- 29:21quarterbacks in this league because he can make those throws
- 29:23on the run. It reminds me and I he's better.
- 29:26He's a better version of them. And I know Fish doesn't want to
- 29:29hear this of a Daniel Jones. That's the type of guy he is.
- 29:32He doesn't have, He's got a little bit better of an arm than
- 29:35Daniel Jones, but this is a guy that can make the throws on the
- 29:38run and he can use his legs. He's a lot faster than he looks.
- 29:42He does look a little doofy. He's a pretty boy on the
- 29:44football field. But when he sees the field and
- 29:47he understands how to find the lanes, he he just runs right to
- 29:50him and he's very good at it. I wouldn't say Daniel Jones.
- 29:55I would actually give him higher praise.
- 29:57You see, because you ain't Daniel would say you ain't
- 29:59Daniel. Jones that's fine.
- 30:02Wow, I I'm going to say he's a faster Baker Mayfield in the
- 30:05with potential to be that guy. He's not Daniel Jones 65.
- 30:08This guy's not 65 right, but he's 63, right JJ Mccart he's
- 30:1363. But you know, Daniel Jones is is
- 30:15remarkably tall and it's one of the he's this type of player
- 30:19that I wasn't sure the reason why I wasn't sure I didn't say I
- 30:21didn't believe in him. I just said when he came out,
- 30:24there was a game his senior year when I think he threw three
- 30:27times in the game, a top ten pick.
- 30:29And I I know there was weather in that game, but that's not
- 30:31what happens, right? And the thing that I think is
- 30:34great about him is his leadership abilities.
- 30:36I wasn't sure that he could throw it in the NFL level like
- 30:39he is right now, but that's his coach too.
- 30:41And having a year off to sit, you said it earlier, having that
- 30:44like, like red shirt year was probably the best thing that
- 30:48could have happened to him. Now that he has that experience
- 30:51of doing this, the the board work of learning the NFL game,
- 30:55you know, at a higher level and not have to put anything at
- 30:57risk. You saw him be a little nervous
- 30:59early. And then when it got to winning
- 31:01time, this is a guy who knows how to win and this is a guy who
- 31:05can lead A-Team. Justin Jefferson, every single
- 31:08player on that team going nuts for this guy, they have his back
- 31:11already. It was his first game.
- 31:13Daniel Jones never had the team's back like that.
- 31:16Only beginning in the beginning, that's a Baker Mayfield quality
- 31:18in the big in the beginning, the giant fans and the giant players
- 31:22were behind Daniel Jones. The one game he had the four
- 31:24touchdowns. I remember, I remember the big
- 31:27the big game, that game, that game that really stuck out to me
- 31:30and why people were making fun of Daniel Jones is when he was
- 31:32running for a touchdown and he tripped on his own feet.
- 31:35I, I think that's the game that. Really.
- 31:36Yeah, the blade of grass. Yeah, when he tripped on his own
- 31:39feet, when he had the whole the whole field to run into a
- 31:42touchdown, he tripped on his own feet.
- 31:44And a lot of Giant fans hate Daniel Jones because he couldn't
- 31:47close out certain games because the Giants never gave him an
- 31:50offensive line. And and if you look at JJ
- 31:52McCarthy, he has an offensive line.
- 31:54He's got weapons, he's got a good running game.
- 31:56Aaron Jones when healthy is he's really, really good.
- 32:00And he can catch the ball in the backfield as well as any running
- 32:04back or even some of the slot wide receivers in the league.
- 32:06He's very fast. He could definitely hit that
- 32:08second, second gear. So I, I think also when you have
- 32:12Justin Jefferson, to me when healthy, he's just, there's
- 32:16nobody better than him right now in the league except maybe Brian
- 32:19Thomas, which I'm always giving. Him high Oh come on, you know
- 32:22there's a couple other. Guys, I like Brian Thomas, but
- 32:24dude, tell me a game that Brian Thomas since he's come into
- 32:27league, ever played bad in. I mean seriously, you go to
- 32:31Jamar Chase, there are games that Jamar Chase doesn't show up
- 32:33in Hagans. Hey, you name him, you're
- 32:35preaching to the choir. He carried me to the fantasy
- 32:38finals last year. Brian Thomas was one of the best
- 32:40pick I made him and Bucky Irving.
- 32:41I'm just telling you, Brian Thomas is a guy that.
- 32:44In every single game, he's important to the offense and
- 32:48that's when you that's when you spot out and you know that this
- 32:51guy is going to be a star. Same thing with Justin Jefferson
- 32:53ever since he took over with Minnesota and Minnesota trade
- 32:57him for who? Speedy.
- 32:58Who did they trade him? Stephon, Dick, Stephon.
- 33:00Gigs who's right now playing for the New England Patriots, who by
- 33:04the way, had a no show on Sunday.
- 33:07All right, I'm just speaking the truth here.
- 33:09When Stefan Diggs went to Buffalo and he played well in
- 33:12Buffalo but never won anything when they made that move and
- 33:16they brought in Justin Jefferson, used that pick to get
- 33:18Justin Jefferson. You got one of the more elite
- 33:21style of players that not only can dance on a football field
- 33:25that can make every single catch and do things and make things so
- 33:28much easier for the quarterback. Ask her cousins.
- 33:31Ask the quarterbacks that they brought in after Kirk Cousins
- 33:34went down. There were quarterbacks you
- 33:35never even heard of that took over after Kirk Cousins.
- 33:38Tori's ace. And I'm sorry, is it his ACL?
- 33:41ACL, I believe and. Achilles when he when he tore
- 33:45his Achilles, they brought in quarterbacks that probably
- 33:48wouldn't have started on any other team.
- 33:50As a matter of fact, there was a quarterback eventually I got
- 33:52traded to Arizona or somewhere else because they were competing
- 33:56for to make the playoffs. So I just think that what you
- 34:00see right now with a JJ McCarthy is a young kid that's only going
- 34:05to get better. I'm not saying he's Daniel
- 34:07Jones. I'm saying that the way his
- 34:09ability to to move outside of the pocket and he's a lot faster
- 34:13than he looks. He's he's not a pretty boy.
- 34:16He's not a guy that can't do things on a football field that
- 34:19can make him a star. You saw what he can do in a
- 34:22fourth quarter and that's what you want to see.
- 34:24If a guy could show up in a fourth quarter, if he's playing
- 34:26bad the whole game and win a football game for you, that says
- 34:30something. As a championship quarterback
- 34:32and a quarterback back, that's one before in college.
- 34:35Yeah, and that's the thing that you don't really see during the
- 34:37draft process because you're not looking, you're not interacting
- 34:39with these guys like the like the GM's and the agents and
- 34:41stuff like that. Are is that kind of mentality
- 34:44and fish, what you were describing too is something that
- 34:46I was a little skeptical of too, with the intermediate throws
- 34:48with JJ McCarthy, stuff like that.
- 34:50I I agree with you. I was throwing on the run, I
- 34:51always thought was a strong suit for him in Michigan.
- 34:53I think they should utilize that kind of thing more.
- 34:55But some of those intermediate throws, just because he didn't
- 34:57have to do them at Michigan because they were just a ground
- 35:00and pound type offense. Maybe you're just seeing, OK, he
- 35:02can actually do do that kind of thing in this type of scheme
- 35:04with those types of wide receivers and make that kind of
- 35:06thing work for a guy that's also very smart too.
- 35:09I always said McCarthy was a smart quarterback.
- 35:10I he wasn't reckless like you saw some of these other
- 35:12quarterbacks try to be at Michigan in the past, too.
- 35:14He's a Jim Harbaugh quarterback. Andrew Luck.
- 35:17You know who that is? Another Jim Harbaugh
- 35:20quarterback. Director of Player Personnel I.
- 35:21Think over there in Stanford. Yes, he is.
- 35:23I actually saw a documentary on YouTube today about him.
- 35:26It's a sensational story, by the way.
- 35:28It's really good. Yeah, he's he.
- 35:30Looks like he's 50, by the way. One of the started.
- 35:34Captain Andrew Luck is the top five Twitter accounts.
- 35:36Andrew Luck has a master and a doctorate.
- 35:39That's how smart Andrew Luck is. He is intelligent, big, strong
- 35:43and and had a lot left to play NFL football.
- 35:46He just didn't want to have any of the brain trauma and he
- 35:48wanted to spend time with his family and enjoy the rest of his
- 35:51life. I I love Andrew Luck because
- 35:53Andrew Luck stood for something. When you look at guys and
- 35:56athletes that want to step away from the game because they want
- 35:59to look look forward to their future.
- 36:01He didn't look towards the game and say, I can't live without
- 36:04the game. The game went past him and he
- 36:06said, you know what? I did what I wanted to do in the
- 36:08eight or nine years I was there. Now I want to move on with my
- 36:11career and do more things for me and my family.
- 36:14And that's what I love about Andrew Luck.
- 36:15That's using your brain. JJ McCarthy, another Jim
- 36:19Harbaugh guy. Why everybody thinks JJ McCarthy
- 36:22could be successful in the NFL is because of this brain over
- 36:26Braun. And that, ladies and gentlemen,
- 36:28is what's going to make JJ McCarthy very unique, especially
- 36:31with O'Connell, who's a very good X is an O's type of guy.
- 36:35And you see the opposite kind of thing with Caleb Williams now I
- 36:38I give him the benefit of the dead out Caleb Williams still
- 36:40because I think I was saying that a lot of these newer
- 36:43offensive skill players all at once kind of being down hurt him
- 36:46I think too. And I think again, learning a
- 36:48very complicated offense like Ben Johnson that was very
- 36:50different than what he's played with in years past could be a
- 36:53little different. Lincoln Riley is very much the
- 36:55opposite of Ben Johnson if you look at the way they play
- 36:58offense. And Lincoln Riley, obviously
- 37:00both at Oklahoma and USC use a lot of those 3 receiver sets.
- 37:03And I think you you see that kind of thing different now in
- 37:06in the NFL. Lincoln knows how to develop
- 37:07quarterbacks. So of course, if if Caleb
- 37:10Williams settles down and stops, open it, stop opening his mouth
- 37:14and just plays the game and plays with his abilities and
- 37:17stop using the the way he reacts to things on and off the field
- 37:22from players and other people, media guys talking about him.
- 37:25Caleb Williams is going to be a star in this league.
- 37:27He's too talented not to be. But the problem with him is he
- 37:31lets the media get to him and he lets his coaches and players get
- 37:34to him. And that reminds me of Russell
- 37:36Wilson, a guy that has become a journeyman, won a Super Bowl
- 37:40champion, and all of a sudden who people, including I, I don't
- 37:44know if it's Fish, somebody told me or believes that he's a Hall
- 37:46of Famer. I don't.
- 37:47Yeah, it was fish a few weeks. Ago, I don't think he's a Hall
- 37:49of Famer, Russell Russell Wilson, I don't think.
- 37:52He said borderline. I said borderline.
- 37:54He's a guy if he could play for another three years and put up
- 37:58adequate numbers. It's not happening.
- 37:59You're going to have to have a conversation about him.
- 38:01You have to. He was great on Sunday by the
- 38:03way. 2 thumbs up for you Giant fans.
- 38:05Don't. Make me talk about this yet.
- 38:07We'll get there. Oh.
- 38:09Those are great 2 yard passes to Wandale Robinson.
- 38:11Wandale Robinson, our second round pick who's like 5 foot 5
- 38:15and like the shortest arms in the league.
- 38:19I remember that. I was like, why are you drafting
- 38:21a fifth round prospect? Like, by far.
- 38:23Like seriously, look, he was good at Kentucky.
- 38:28JJ McCarthy. He was good in Nebraska to
- 38:31relax. JJ JJ McCarthy, Huskers only
- 38:36rear listen to this dating back to high school, 67 and three in
- 38:43his career as a starting quarterback.
- 38:46All losses in high school. He didn't lose a game as the
- 38:49starting quarterback of Michigan.
- 38:51Think about that for a second. Regular season.
- 38:55Right, that is a winner. And I I say this a bunch and you
- 39:00know, like obviously different levels, it means different
- 39:03things are stacked differently in high school, especially in
- 39:05college. NFL is a whole different beast.
- 39:07But if he's going to play like this in the fourth quarter and
- 39:10have his team behind him and be a leader of men, which is what
- 39:13you see from Harbaugh guys, Andrew Luck, a leader of men.
- 39:17He's the AD of Stanford at prestigious institute.
- 39:20He's not even 40 yet. That guy is going places.
- 39:24I bet you end up hearing him running for office 1 day.
- 39:28That's the only 35. He's 35.
- 39:30He's my little brother's age, that is.
- 39:32No, we have enough athletes running for office.
- 39:35Mark to share is running for, I think of some political office
- 39:38right now, Senate or governor. I'm honestly though his demeanor
- 39:42and the type of person Texas he would be really, really good at.
- 39:45It I'm sure. I bet, I bet he'd be good at it.
- 39:47I, I just like, I just think that this guy's going like even
- 39:51greater places than he is now. And I think a lot of that comes
- 39:54from how you're raised. Obviously his family historic,
- 39:57you know, the Luck family in college, Oliver Luck, but
- 40:00horrible. Everyone that's around that guy
- 40:02wins. Has he ever?
- 40:04When was the last time he lost? He didn't have double digit
- 40:06wins. In professional football.
- 40:08His last year with the 49ers, it's also.
- 40:10One season when everything fell. It's the Harbaugh family.
- 40:13John Harbaugh has been very successful.
- 40:15Their father was very successful over there in Michigan.
- 40:18And now Jim. I think Jim is the best one out
- 40:21of all of them. I I think Jim is so smart.
- 40:24And as an NFL coach, I always said that Jim Harbaugh, if he
- 40:27stayed over there with San Francisco, he would have won a
- 40:29Super Bowl with San Francisco. He walked away from San
- 40:32Francisco because he wanted to win a national championship for
- 40:35his alma mater. That's the only reason why he he
- 40:37left San Francisco, because he believed in Kaepernick.
- 40:40And by the way, if, if he was still there, Kaepernick with all
- 40:45the stuff that was going on, he would have found a way to keep
- 40:47Colin Kaepernick on that team. I do believe that.
- 40:50I absolutely. Believe that was a Chip Kelly
- 40:52who couldn't handle that It's one year with the 49ers.
- 40:54I'm just, I'm just saying if if Jim Harbaugh was still there, he
- 40:59would have figured out how to keep Colin Kaepernick still on
- 41:02the San Francisco 49ers and maybe Colin Kaepernick still has
- 41:05a career right now in the NFL. I'm not just saying Jim really
- 41:09believes in Colin Kaepernick. He was another guy that kind of
- 41:13the style of type of quarterback that he looks for a mobile
- 41:16quarterback that throws on the run and can do the things that
- 41:19you expect a quarterback to do. See the field, may use the field
- 41:23and use the players around him. And that's what JJ McCarthy is
- 41:26Speaking of. Stories.
- 41:27This is a mammoth one. The Athletic Britt Giroli and
- 41:31Alex Andreyov today says that at least 8 Detroit Tiger employees,
- 41:38including four vice presidents, have been accused of misconduct
- 41:42towards women since 2023. Seven of the eight men were
- 41:47accused of mistreating women that work for the Ilitch Sports
- 41:53and Entertainment, which our which own the Tigers, Red Wings
- 41:57and other entertainment companies. 6 of the 8 men either
- 42:01stepped down or were fired, with two remaining in power within
- 42:06the organization. Countless reports of sexual
- 42:09advances against women, as well as some from age-related
- 42:13discrimination and racial discrimination are documented
- 42:17from some of 45 sources. According to the Athletic 1 male
- 42:22employee says that the dysfunction is in these guys
- 42:27culture which a with a bunch of guys thinking that they can do
- 42:33whatever they want and get away with it, making it a place where
- 42:37women shouldn't feel safe. Reports say that Sam Menzen, a
- 42:433434 year old assistant general manager, stepped down from the
- 42:47team after sending unsolicited photos to multiple women who
- 42:53worked for the team bed. Fiddleman, who refers the ML to
- 42:59MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred as his uncle, was promoted to vice
- 43:03president after an investigation lasting less than a week.
- 43:08Fiddleman was accused of screaming at women, retaliation,
- 43:14harassment and basically bullying female employees,
- 43:18Senior Vice President of Communications Ron Colangelo
- 43:22said in a defense in defense of Fiddleman.
- 43:26The Athletic may have talked to the 10 or 12 people where where
- 43:32who were disgrunted that and that's unfortunate.
- 43:37Former broadcasters Cameron Maybin and Craig Monroe were
- 43:41also let go. Maybin women was fired for
- 43:43creepy comments towards women and Monroe being charged with
- 43:48sexual abuse of a minor. The article ended with a current
- 43:53employees comment. We have team meetings and they
- 43:57celebrate like everything is going great.
- 44:00Yeah, the team is playing well, but let's be real.
- 44:05Well let let's get let's get into this story because it's a
- 44:08story that is only going to have more legs to it.
- 44:11This is not over. And I'm sure the investigation
- 44:14is going to find a lot more deeper things in this story.
- 44:18The Detroit Tigers are an organization that's been up and
- 44:21down. How many GM's over the last
- 44:23couple of years have taken over this team in this organization?
- 44:26How much money has been brought or spent in this organization?
- 44:30We've seen so many great players come out from this organization,
- 44:34Justin Verlander being one of one of them, Miguel Cabrera.
- 44:37How about Jabba Chamberlain being another?
- 44:39There are a lot of great players that have been out in and out of
- 44:42this organization being another one as well.
- 44:45You look at organizations over the years and I'm, I'm not
- 44:47saying Detroit's a bad place, I'm not.
- 44:51But if you remember here in New York, there was a guy that
- 44:54worked for the New York Knicks, who played for the Detroit
- 44:58Pistons, that took over as president and GM of the New York
- 45:03Knicks, and that is Isaiah Thomas.
- 45:06Do we remember that story? I remember that story very, very
- 45:09much. And Isaiah Thomas had a problem
- 45:11with a bunch of women where there was sexual advancements
- 45:15with these women upstairs, which eventually caused him to lose
- 45:19his job. And we all know James Dolan
- 45:22loved Isaiah Thomas loved him, but he had to step in and fire
- 45:26him. Even though eventually Isaiah
- 45:30Thomas took over the Liberty and and, and I think took over and,
- 45:34and partially owned the Liberty after that.
- 45:37But nevertheless, when you look at stories like this and the
- 45:41discrimination of women, women right now are important not only
- 45:45in sports but in politics and the world.
- 45:49And maybe 20 years ago women were not looked at as an
- 45:53important figures to organizations.
- 45:55But now women are very important, especially the way
- 45:59the world is starting to drive and give women opportunities to
- 46:03move up in corporations, companies and sports teams.
- 46:08When women look good, the men, the despicable men from these
- 46:13organizations, they're not happy men, not happy married men.
- 46:18They're doing stupid things. They're going behind their wives
- 46:22backs to to disgrunt these women to solicit, solicit these women
- 46:29and hurt these women in some kind of way because they think
- 46:31they have more power because in America, the men always had the
- 46:37power. Now women are starting to get
- 46:38the opportunity to have some kind of power.
- 46:43And to me right now with Rob Manfred in the way Rob Manfred
- 46:47is running the major leagues and the MLB, it bothers me because
- 46:51not only is he changing rules, he's getting guys or people that
- 46:56claim are his nephew jobs, opportunities that they
- 47:02shouldn't get. This guy who probably has no
- 47:05background in sports, has no background in management or any
- 47:09of that magnitude. This guy gets a job, eventually
- 47:12a vice president job with one of the big Major League teams, one
- 47:16of the bigger organizations of professional baseball history.
- 47:19Detroit's been around for almost 100 years.
- 47:22Think about that. And this guy who I've never even
- 47:25heard of, by the way, I, I've never heard of Ben Fiddleman.
- 47:29All right, never fiddle on the roof.
- 47:31I've heard that. I've I've heard he likes to
- 47:34fiddle with himself. But when you hear the in in the
- 47:37investigation of women and and and harassment, this to me
- 47:41bothers me. We've we talked about the Mara
- 47:43family. Mara has been very well
- 47:46respected around the league for many, many years.
- 47:49His father and then him, John and and Tish and the Rooney
- 47:53family, always very well respected.
- 47:56And now all these things and all these stories coming out with,
- 48:00you know, African American coaches, the Rooney Rule, as we
- 48:03all know with African American coaches.
- 48:05And then Mara not controlling certain players on his team with
- 48:10sexual harassment or putting their hands on their wives and,
- 48:14and leaving it alone and brushing onto the rug.
- 48:16This is to me, when you look at this and you look at
- 48:19professional sports teams that are very well respected.
- 48:22And I'm not saying Detroit is a very well respected
- 48:25organization, but it's a known organization that has been
- 48:28around for a long, long time. It would bother me to know that
- 48:32you have executives, and I'm not talking about one or two or
- 48:37three. You're talking about 10-12
- 48:39executives on the panel of these organizations sexually abusing
- 48:45and harassing women. Why would I want to go work
- 48:49there if I was a woman? Why I got to walk over.
- 48:53I got to walk around the offices and worry about a man grabbing
- 48:56my ass, going and waiting for me to come out of the bathroom so I
- 49:01can make an advancement on them. To me, that would be scary if it
- 49:05was my wife, my girlfriend. If my girlfriend was working for
- 49:09Detroit, she went to school for NYU.
- 49:12She she went to school for journalism.
- 49:14If she was writing for Detroit and hanging out over there in
- 49:16Detroit and somebody was advancing on her, what do you
- 49:19think I would do to the man that was trying to advance her and
- 49:23make her feel uncomfortable where she doesn't want to go to
- 49:25work? What do you think I would do to
- 49:27that guy? I'd break his neck.
- 49:30To me, it's uncomfortable to think about why women were never
- 49:35allowed to work in sports. And now women have an
- 49:38opportunity as well as they should to be considered general
- 49:42managers. As we all know, Miami had one in
- 49:45over there in Miami. We are now starting to see that
- 49:49we're going to have women managers, women coaches in the
- 49:52NBA in the future. It's going to happen.
- 49:55And now you're looking at the WNBA with Caitlin Clark changing
- 49:59the sports world, one of the more popular players right now
- 50:03in professional sports. Women deserve an opportunity to
- 50:07be respected just like men. And when you have men like this,
- 50:10disgusted, disgusting and and despicable men like this, and
- 50:15including Cameron Mabin, OK. Now we reached out to Cameron
- 50:19Mabin years and years ago and we wanted him to come on the show
- 50:24and he started following us and it never happened.
- 50:28He started working for the New York Yankees as a broadcaster
- 50:31and then eventually moved to Detroit and started working for
- 50:34them. And when you hear a story like
- 50:35this, I don't know Craig Monroe in a hole in the wall, but I
- 50:38know Cameron Maybin. Cameron Maybin, if these stories
- 50:41are true, is a despicable man and doesn't deserve another job
- 50:46in professional sports. Again, this is a guy that looked
- 50:50at himself as some kind of specific superstar player.
- 50:53Cameron Maybin was a washed up baseball player that played
- 50:56what, 6-7 years in the majors, was a backup player the Yankees
- 51:01traded for him for one year he did nothing for the New York
- 51:04Yankees and he was a journeyman. And then finally teams give him
- 51:08opportunity to be a broadcaster and work with the executives and
- 51:13work with the organization and you hear the stories that he is
- 51:16looking and, and and making passes on women.
- 51:20Despicable. And why isn't Detroit?
- 51:23Why did this story finally come out?
- 51:25This has been going on for what, 2-3 years now?
- 51:29It's been going on all this time.
- 51:31And then finally the story comes out.
- 51:32Who's brushing it under the rug? Is it Rob Manfred, a man freed,
- 51:37as Jabba calls him, who's brushing the story under the
- 51:41rug? Detroit is one of the best teams
- 51:43right now in the American League, one of the best teams in
- 51:45baseball, and it's run by a bunch of despicable, disgusting
- 51:49human beings. Very good, very well said.
- 51:56As disgusting as it gets for you this level.
- 51:58And I knew there was some shadiness going on with the
- 52:00Ilitch family with the Red Wings in the past too.
- 52:03Like you're seeing that you saw that I think in 2018 and 2019
- 52:06too. I don't know if it was directly
- 52:08like a a sexism type thing, but there was stuff going on behind
- 52:12the scenes. That's why Eiserman eventually
- 52:13got hired in that front office as well.
- 52:16And now you're seeing it with the Tigers too, with their
- 52:17broadcasters, with guys that are younger too.
- 52:20Like this is behavior that we took shots of the Mets for, for
- 52:22all their GMs and Mickey Callaway doing all those gross
- 52:25things in the past. And now all of a sudden you're
- 52:27seeing it here with a 34 year old rising future GM, that
- 52:31you're seeing an assistant GM, like the article is saying, that
- 52:33looked like it was going to be one of the faces of baseball.
- 52:35And he's doing all this crap. And it's just, it's disgusting
- 52:38on so many levels. And there's a lot of really
- 52:40good, like female employees there, broadcasters, assistant
- 52:43GM, like you're saying, assistant executives in that
- 52:45front office too, both with the Tigers and with the Red Wings.
- 52:49And I think you see this kind of thing just being a case of just
- 52:53so outdated concepts with all these ownerships.
- 52:56And it's not like I don't think Ilitch is really that much of an
- 52:58older owner compared to some of the other owners of baseball.
- 53:01But the, the, the outdated concept is just still there with
- 53:03how these employees are being treated.
- 53:05And you're right, Like, why would anybody want to go over
- 53:08there and want to broadcast or work for that team and a lot of
- 53:13the younger broadcasters, Andy Dirk's a former player that
- 53:15broadcast with him. Jabba, I think you played with
- 53:17him a little bit. Jason Benetti was one of my
- 53:19favorite play by play broadcasters were saying that
- 53:21these are not the values that I ever would have imagined would
- 53:23have been in this organization. And like they were sickened by
- 53:27the whole thing that these older guys and even the one the men's
- 53:30and the one younger guy would be able to do that kind of thing.
- 53:32And Monroe and Maben Munroe was a former player.
- 53:34He's probably in his 40s now. And Maben, like Errol saying is
- 53:38I think 38 or so. Is it?
- 53:40And he really is. If these stories are true,
- 53:43Cameron Maybin should never get another job again.
- 53:45A professional. Small.
- 53:47Nobody involved in that should ever.
- 53:48Get it? And Monroe, if he's really doing
- 53:50and and this story is true, this guy should be thrown in jail and
- 53:53the key should be thrown away. If this is true.
- 53:57Is it, if this is true, that he was trying to hook up with a
- 54:00young young lady? Underage young lady?
- 54:04This guy should be thrown in jail and never be let out again.
- 54:06This is that's that's Wander Franco ask if he's doing that
- 54:09all that kind of thing. I.
- 54:10Think yeah, but he did it in the Dominican.
- 54:11Republic. No, I know that.
- 54:13I think he did it with multiple. United States.
- 54:15Yeah, it still is. That's the same level of just
- 54:18disturbing behavior that he. Was.
- 54:20I'm not saying it doesn't. I understand it's the same
- 54:22thing, but it's a different country.
- 54:24Understood. And you look at again, in cases
- 54:26of this possibly expand, this is you said 10 at that, right that
- 54:29we know of. And then this is the same
- 54:32company that also owns the Red Wings who says stuff isn't
- 54:34happening behind the scenes there that Ilitch and this
- 54:36ownership group had. I know, I think he passed away
- 54:38recently, but this new ownership group is covering up.
- 54:41And like you said, the league could be covering up too because
- 54:44both MLB and NHL, well, they're, I don't think they're as bad as
- 54:47the NFL when it comes to covering up domestic.
- 54:49Violence. Well, we know they like to cover
- 54:50up superstar players situations, as we all know.
- 54:54Yeah, there were two of them by the old O Tato.
- 54:57Yeah. And you.
- 54:58As Jabba says, there's no proof. And you saw the NHL.
- 55:02Recent proving. And then on the on the NHL side,
- 55:06you saw that cover up with those four players, including Carter
- 55:08Hart and a few others, that of when they were doing stuff them
- 55:12in the OHL and during World Juniors and stuff like that too.
- 55:14So they're going to brush that kind of thing under the rug much
- 55:17more than they should. And it's just a sickening
- 55:18situation. And I feel bad for really.
- 55:20We still haven't heard the true story about the Chicago
- 55:23Blackhawks, right? I mean, that story really was
- 55:26brushed under the rug by the NHL.
- 55:27And then Quinnville gets another job, gets another two jobs.
- 55:30Oh yeah? How does that make sense?
- 55:32How does that guy get another job in the NHL after being the
- 55:36head coach when this kid was getting raped, was getting raped
- 55:40by a trainer in their locker rooms and players knew about it
- 55:44too. And they were getting this and
- 55:46and the teams and all these players got opportunities after
- 55:49the fact when they left the Blackhawks.
- 55:51It's despicable. Why?
- 55:52And I'm telling you right now, I can't wait to to see a book come
- 55:56out about that and maybe a movie come out about that, a
- 55:59documentary, because that story I have we still don't know the
- 56:04behind what really happened in that in those locker rooms in
- 56:07happened with the Chicago Blackhawks.
- 56:09The Blackhawks. Have we heard that story in the
- 56:11last past year? The story has not even been
- 56:13brought up ever. No, I think only really just
- 56:16vaguely since Gwendell got. Nobody has brought up that
- 56:19story. How could you not bring up a
- 56:21story when a player, a young kid who could have been great, was
- 56:25getting sexually abused by a trainer in the locker room?
- 56:29I don't even know if he was a trainer.
- 56:31He was like something. Else he was a video coach.
- 56:33Video coach, I'm sorry. Yeah, I think there was.
- 56:35I think there was a trainer that was under investigation though
- 56:38for being involved in it somehow.
- 56:39And obviously Quinnville is the one that covered up like you.
- 56:42Saw they all covered it up at Penn State GM the the one of the
- 56:46player personnel, one of the managers of player personnel was
- 56:51obviously suspended in and fired.
- 56:52I I mean, everybody should have been fired from that
- 56:55organization and owners should have been.
- 56:57They should have been, they should have lost a ton of draft
- 56:59picks. They should have lost.
- 57:01That's how they still get a reward with top three picks for
- 57:03whatever reason. I.
- 57:04I don't get it. I'm sorry and I, I, I went off
- 57:06topic over here, but job, I'm sorry.
- 57:10Oh, no, I mean, it's, yeah, it's, it's weird how long like
- 57:13some of this takes. Obviously there's the due
- 57:16diligence that you have to do because you can't you can't put
- 57:19it in in front of anything. But when it comes to women and
- 57:23kids, it's, it's a little different.
- 57:26I've seen it first hand where it's, it's affected people's
- 57:29careers when even if they were found innocent, but they were
- 57:31tied to, you know, something where you don't see it, you
- 57:35know, the other way around. And it's just, I mean, it sucks.
- 57:39There's, there's no, there's no space for that.
- 57:42I don't care in baseball, in in any workplace for anybody to
- 57:46feel uncomfortable, men, women, whatever.
- 57:48I there's just, there's no, there's no space for that.
- 57:51There's, I mean, and I hope, you know, I, I know there's
- 57:56obviously instances where they're, you know, trying to
- 57:58protect their career, but obviously the advances in, in
- 58:02whatever way, shape or form and they, they just kind of push to
- 58:05the side. But I just, I think it's first
- 58:09of all, it's disrespectful. First of all, it's, it's asinine
- 58:12to even think that's OK, especially in the workplace.
- 58:16And it's just, I understand that some people will see it
- 58:20differently than other people will.
- 58:21Like, you know, it's it's I always find this interesting and
- 58:25I'd like to get your guys's take on it too.
- 58:26Like understand that there's women reporters, Correct.
- 58:31But I get out of the shower after a game.
- 58:33That's my office. Like, I'm not trying to
- 58:37obviously do anything to make you feel uncomfortable.
- 58:40But if I'm drying off in my towel falls like I'm not doing
- 58:44it like, and it's just, I've always, always thought there's a
- 58:47very thin line because obviously you have to respect them because
- 58:50they're doing a job. But at the same time you're in
- 58:52my office and I've always, I've always thought it's like,
- 58:56obviously they're doing a job respecting and they're
- 58:59professional about it. I'm not saying they aren't, but
- 59:01it's just some people can misconstrue like certain things,
- 59:04which it's just, it's tough. But you can't put yourself in
- 59:09that situation first and foremost.
- 59:11And if it gets drug out forever and we, we've seen instances
- 59:15like this that are disgusting where they get drug out, drug
- 59:19out, drug out. And for these individuals that
- 59:21it happens to, that's just, it's more that they have to hold on
- 59:24to. And mind you, is going to solve
- 59:27the, the anguish and, and pain and whatever they have to deal
- 59:31with. No, it's not going to, it's not
- 59:32going to solve it. It's not going to magically make
- 59:35it disappear. But, you know, it's somebody
- 59:37standing up for what is right and figuring out like, really,
- 59:41what happened is it is it is this going to take two years
- 59:44where they got to fight their tails off for whatever happened
- 59:46for it to come out? Or does it get drawn out long
- 59:49enough to where it kind of like you said with the black, like
- 59:53you haven't heard about it. So it's like, you know, sight
- 59:56unseen, Right. And so if you haven't heard
- 59:58about it, it's like, oh, and then something comes up.
- 1:00:01Yeah, exactly. And it's it's, it sucks because
- 1:00:05there's so much. Evil in this world, as we've
- 1:00:09seen that, by the way, that is that is great where you you hope
- 1:00:15that the good can prevail in all of this with everything that
- 1:00:20goes on and people would just wake up and be like, hey, we
- 1:00:24know what's right and wrong. Like have we all done stupid
- 1:00:28shit? Yes, we have.
- 1:00:29We've all been there for somebody to say they haven't.
- 1:00:31They're a bold faced liar, but there's certain there's certain
- 1:00:35stupidity to to what level it is.
- 1:00:39And it's just, you know, hopefully they figure it out
- 1:00:42because it for those families and for those individuals, it
- 1:00:45sucks, men and women. Yeah, Java, I, I see your
- 1:00:48scenario too. Like, well, obviously there's a
- 1:00:49level of journalistic integrity that has to be like giving the
- 1:00:52players the privacy and stuff like that, like you were saying.
- 1:00:54And I think that comes to a point of just like mass
- 1:00:57journalism of just wanting to get the story out first instead
- 1:01:00of actually doing it right. And then, yeah, everyone's
- 1:01:02rushing just to be the first one to break it.
- 1:01:03And that's kind of things that happen too.
- 1:01:05And I think just think of this instance as you're looking at
- 1:01:07more of with sexually and again, I don't know the ages of the
- 1:01:10people that were victimized. By that but speedy, this has
- 1:01:12been going on for years and now finally it's being it's breaking
- 1:01:17and people are starting to realize.
- 1:01:18But it's started started of like 2023, right?
- 1:01:2123 and now we're going into 2026.
- 1:01:23What do we have? Three more months and it's 2026.
- 1:01:26It goes best. Think about think about too.
- 1:01:28The fish brought up a great thing like how long did the
- 1:01:32gymnastics thing take? You know, like, well, and that's
- 1:01:35the crazy part because in I've always and played devil's
- 1:01:39advocate. And so if these do come out and
- 1:01:43they're whatever they are, if it comes, if it comes to find out
- 1:01:47that these aren't true, like accusations, why does nothing
- 1:01:51ever happened to that person? Like we've seen it one time
- 1:01:55happened and that was Duke lacrosse.
- 1:01:56But but Jabba, if you're looking at it, it's not just one woman.
- 1:02:00This is. Multiple.
- 1:02:01I'm not saying it is this is multiple but that's fine and
- 1:02:05I've seen it affect people's lives to where they were
- 1:02:08innocent but it was related to a woman and they never got an
- 1:02:12opportunity and they were proven innocent.
- 1:02:15But job again, so I'm sorry to cut you off if this happened 15
- 1:02:19years ago. These guys don't get in trouble.
- 1:02:23They don't get in trouble because women aren't respected
- 1:02:25as much as they're respected now in the industry.
- 1:02:28And I believe women should have been respected 1520 years ago.
- 1:02:32When they were, but it shouldn't, it shouldn't be an
- 1:02:33industry thing. And I understand you're thinking
- 1:02:35industry this, this should be like, it's not an industry
- 1:02:38thing. This is the, this is life like
- 1:02:41this is you don't treat women like that.
- 1:02:43That is just the way it is. It doesn't, it doesn't so happen
- 1:02:47that it's just now everybody can catch stuff on camera or now
- 1:02:50it's hearsay and it's it you don't, it's now you're guilty
- 1:02:55until proven innocent. And sometimes that doesn't even
- 1:02:57matter. And we built this country an
- 1:02:59innocent until proven guilty, but now we protect until we
- 1:03:04actually know really what's going on.
- 1:03:05I've seen it happen in high school.
- 1:03:07I've seen it happen in college. I've seen it happen
- 1:03:08professionally where before this comes out, like, why even create
- 1:03:13this story until you know all the details, whether that takes
- 1:03:16two or three years, it prevents us from having this conversation
- 1:03:21because now if they say, Yep, it's been an ongoing
- 1:03:24investigation for four years, we found out exactly this is the
- 1:03:27document. These are the emails.
- 1:03:28This is a text message now we have nothing to say or
- 1:03:31speculate. But this is the media.
- 1:03:32The media does this all the time.
- 1:03:34They're trying to. Pick a story.
- 1:03:35I'm not I'm not saying I'm not saying they don't, but what I'm.
- 1:03:38Saying I got what you're saying, I understand they shouldn't be
- 1:03:40bringing. They're doing this.
- 1:03:41Until they investigate in deeper, I understand.
- 1:03:44And I hate it. I hate it for not only the the
- 1:03:47the victims or every, but everybody in the whole
- 1:03:50situation. That sucks, because whether it's
- 1:03:53true, whether it's not like this effects everybody, not only
- 1:03:56effects the people directly involved indirectly.
- 1:04:00Java, let me ask you a question. All right, so you're, I
- 1:04:02understand what you're saying and and they should.
- 1:04:05You're attacking a man's character without actually
- 1:04:07knowing what happened. But here's the thing.
- 1:04:09Why are they resigning? Why are they resigning if they
- 1:04:12thought they were innocent? Why are they getting fired if
- 1:04:16they thought they were innocent? If they if they're saying and
- 1:04:19they're standing up for the whole story behind it, then
- 1:04:22they'll say, you know, listen, I don't know anything about this.
- 1:04:25This is not true. This is untrue.
- 1:04:26Why are they resigning? I think, I think what was it,
- 1:04:29Fish? Five of them resigned.
- 1:04:32Six of them. Six of them resigned.
- 1:04:34So. Think about that.
- 1:04:36If you're resigning, you're guilty.
- 1:04:38That's the way I look at it. I wouldn't resign I'm not
- 1:04:41resigning if I feel that I'm not guilty, prove it prove that I'm
- 1:04:45not guilty. I prove that I'm guilty.
- 1:04:47That's what I'm going to say guilty and so proven.
- 1:04:50So I, I don't, you don't have anything because I know for a
- 1:04:54fact I didn't do anything. So to me that tells me they're
- 1:04:58guilty. I understand what you're saying.
- 1:05:00Fire me and then I'm going to sue your ass.
- 1:05:02I'm going to sue you for everything you own.
- 1:05:04Look at look at John Gruden. Look at Jon Gruden went through
- 1:05:08Jon Gruden knows he did what he did sexual, you know, Yeah, I
- 1:05:12mean, not sexually racism, the racism text messages and emails
- 1:05:16that he was posting. But it was told to him that that
- 1:05:18wouldn't come out. Why was his name only brought
- 1:05:21out when there were eighty other people on that emails, on those
- 1:05:24emails? But he brought was brought out.
- 1:05:26And that's why he won the case. Even though we believe he was
- 1:05:29guilty. That hurt him.
- 1:05:30He's never going to get a coaching job.
- 1:05:32Oh, maybe he will. But in the future we'll see if
- 1:05:34it gets brushed under the rug. But nevertheless, everybody else
- 1:05:37was racism, racist and and said what they felt about the whole
- 1:05:41situation. But he was the one that got
- 1:05:43burnt. He was the one that lost his
- 1:05:44job. He is the one that right now
- 1:05:46doesn't have a job with ESPN, CBS or any of those
- 1:05:49organizations or NFL organizations.
- 1:05:51So he got screwed. He's doing he's doing just fine.
- 1:05:54But I I know he just want a lot of money, but I I'm just.
- 1:05:57Saying that too, but he he's still getting paid handsomely by
- 1:06:00none of those people. No, I I got it and I understand,
- 1:06:03but wouldn't you want to be a coach in the NFL?
- 1:06:05You loved it and John Gronen always said that you want he's a
- 1:06:09lifer. He wants to die being a head
- 1:06:11coach in the NFL or college football.
- 1:06:13He got interviewed for a couple college football teams and they
- 1:06:16didn't hire him. He was probably the easy hire
- 1:06:19and he didn't get hired. Manfred is involved in this
- 1:06:22story because the guy that has not stepped down is is a guy who
- 1:06:29refers to Manfred as his uncle that got him this job when he
- 1:06:32was 21 years old with the Detroit Tigers.
- 1:06:35This fiddleman. Well, he's probably fiddle with
- 1:06:38his own steps. Hopefully it's just his own and
- 1:06:39someone, not someone else's. These aren't just females coming
- 1:06:42forward. It's terrible to all the people
- 1:06:44around him, Men reported. Like dozens of men were involved
- 1:06:49in the 45 people that came out against these people.
- 1:06:52And Fiddleman was the one that had the most people against
- 1:06:54them. And that's the one that's
- 1:06:56connected to Manfred. I think there's a little bit of
- 1:06:59smoke. Rob Manfred, he's going.
- 1:07:03He needs to speak. Hey, listen, Adam Silver today
- 1:07:06spoke about Kawhi Leonard. I, I, we're not going to talk
- 1:07:09about it today, but he came out finally to speak up about the
- 1:07:14whole Kawhi Leonard thing. Now I again, you want the
- 1:07:18commissioner to come out and speak for the organizations or
- 1:07:22the owners of those organizations because you want
- 1:07:25him to. He's he's working for those
- 1:07:27organizations. Rob Manford or Freed is working
- 1:07:31for the owner of the Detroit Tigers and he hired well, his
- 1:07:35so-called nephew is working for those Detroit Tigers.
- 1:07:39And like Aaron was saying Fish was saying he's, he's saying
- 1:07:43that when it when there's smoke, it's going to cook baby.
- 1:07:46And that's what's going on. Rob Manfred or Manfred is not
- 1:07:51speaking up. He's hiding and he's letting
- 1:07:54this guy keep his job. How is this guy keeping his job?
- 1:07:57And other people are resigning and stepping down or getting
- 1:08:00fired. And and the only reason why is
- 1:08:02is because quote UN quote, his uncle is Rob Manfred.
- 1:08:05So I, I agree with fish. I think they're there's got to
- 1:08:09be some kind of smoke behind this.
- 1:08:10And Rob Manford, how much time does he have left before he.
- 1:08:15Expires in 2028. So 2028.
- 1:08:17So we got to deal with Rob Manford for another three more
- 1:08:20years. We got to deal with this idiot
- 1:08:22for another three more years. I mean, that's scary to think
- 1:08:25about that. And I know a lot of people don't
- 1:08:27want to. And I, I don't know Rob Manfred
- 1:08:29in a hole in a wall. I don't know him personally.
- 1:08:31Maybe I'll like the guy. If I sat down and had a
- 1:08:33conversation with him, maybe me and him would get along where
- 1:08:35you could be pals. I don't know.
- 1:08:37But what I'm hearing about him as a person that I'm I'm reading
- 1:08:42these stories, it's not good for baseball.
- 1:08:44It's not good when your commissioner is high getting
- 1:08:48guys that are 21 years old hired for an organization that has
- 1:08:53been a failing organization. When was the last time Detroit
- 1:08:55won a won a World Series 8484, a job that was on those teams?
- 1:09:02Justin Verlander, Scherzer, Miguel Cabrero, Hall of Famers
- 1:09:06were on those teams. They've been to World Series and
- 1:09:09never get over the hump and they're hiring this guy
- 1:09:10Fiddleman, who's never been a manager, has never worked with a
- 1:09:14baseball, a professional team, because his uncle is Rob
- 1:09:16Manfred. Come on, guys.
- 1:09:20If you're if you're, if you put two and two together, you can
- 1:09:24honestly understand. If you're playing chess, you
- 1:09:26would know that somebody's the queen and somebody's the pawn,
- 1:09:31and the pawn is fiddleman and the queen, which is the most
- 1:09:35important, you know, piece on the board is Rob Manford think.
- 1:09:41About. That's why it's about who you
- 1:09:43know, not what you know. And it's also a case of special
- 1:09:46treatment that he's giving this guy for whatever reason, just
- 1:09:49because, oh, he hired him at 21 years old.
- 1:09:51No, this guy did gross things to women that should never have
- 1:09:54happened. Why is he all of a sudden
- 1:09:56keeping his job when six other guys resigned at 7?
- 1:09:59They took, they took accountability for it.
- 1:10:01Another guy got suspended and this guy gets to keep his job
- 1:10:04because he's just here to attach to Rod Manford, No.
- 1:10:07It would bother me. And again, if you're if you're a
- 1:10:10baseball fan and you're here and maybe you're a Detroit, Detroit
- 1:10:13Tiger fan and I love what Detroit's doing, they can win
- 1:10:16the World Series this year. Could you imagine this story
- 1:10:18coming out and Detroit goes all the way to the World Series and
- 1:10:21wins the World Series for the first time since 1984?
- 1:10:23How bad this will look for baseball if they come out and
- 1:10:27they win a World Series and this story even gets worse.
- 1:10:30I mean, think about it. That could be really bad for
- 1:10:33baseball, really bad for baseball.
- 1:10:35So it would be. How are they going to win with
- 1:10:39this story though? Like that's the thing that.
- 1:10:41They're going to the playoffs right now.
- 1:10:43They're. A playoff, right?
- 1:10:44They're obviously a playoff. How many?
- 1:10:45How many people think? How many people you think know
- 1:10:47about the story though? Really.
- 1:10:48Honestly. Well, I mean, now that the New
- 1:10:51York Times, The Athletic published it, I.
- 1:10:54I know Brittany a little bit, all right?
- 1:10:56She's been on this show. Giroli has been on this show
- 1:10:59before and when she came on the show she was working for the
- 1:11:01Nationals and I went back and forth, back and forth with her
- 1:11:05about Scherzer. She told me when the Mets
- 1:11:07brought him in, he said this guy is must see.
- 1:11:10He's still a great pitcher. He's going to bring wins to the
- 1:11:13New York Mets. The guy never gets hurt.
- 1:11:16This guy is a great Samaritan, great teammate.
- 1:11:19And what happens when he goes to the Mets?
- 1:11:21He gets overpaid, he gets hurt, can't stay on the field.
- 1:11:24The pine tar story. He he's fighting with umpires,
- 1:11:28he's fighting with teammates. It didn't work.
- 1:11:31I and we reach out to Brittany, Brittany Giroli to come on the
- 1:11:34show again. And what did she do?
- 1:11:36Nothing. Nothing.
- 1:11:38She hid. She didn't want to come on the
- 1:11:40show. You know why she didn't want to
- 1:11:42come on the show? Because she knew that if she
- 1:11:44came on this show, I'm dropping a damn hammer on her because I
- 1:11:48know what happened. She attacked me.
- 1:11:50She told me that I was stupid to even call Max, Max Scherzer an
- 1:11:55overrated player at the time. He was overrated.
- 1:11:58He wasn't the same pitcher. And she, he, he got paid what?
- 1:12:02Like 43 million. 43,000,000 the highest contract in baseball
- 1:12:05history for a pitcher who was washed up at 3738 years old.
- 1:12:09And I said he's a washed up player, Brittany.
- 1:12:11You can't tell me that this guy is going to go to New York and
- 1:12:14pitch well. Oh, you don't know the family.
- 1:12:16He's a family man. And he's going to go out there
- 1:12:18and he's going to show the Met fans what winning winning is.
- 1:12:21He won a World Series. He was a big part of those World
- 1:12:23Series teams. And what did he do?
- 1:12:25He had the pine tar. He was bitching and moaning.
- 1:12:28He wasn't getting along with players in the dugout.
- 1:12:31Then they brought in Justin Verlander and Verlander who
- 1:12:34Jabba, you know, you're very good friends with.
- 1:12:36There were stories coming out that him and Verlander weren't
- 1:12:38getting along. I mean, think about that.
- 1:12:41Think about the stories. But no, no.
- 1:12:44Jaroli, where are you? Britt, come on the show.
- 1:12:47Come on the show and tell me that I was wrong about Max
- 1:12:50Scherzer. Just say yeah, he.
- 1:12:53Got her twice. She's great.
- 1:12:54I got to know her when she was with Baltimore.
- 1:12:56Yeah, that's I'm not, was the basis she was working with the
- 1:12:59Orioles. And now Jabba.
- 1:13:00I'm not Jabba. I'm not saying I don't like her.
- 1:13:04I'm not saying. I could I could give two shits
- 1:13:06if. You like her.
- 1:13:07I know, I'm just saying I'm. Still going to sleep well at
- 1:13:09night. I'm just saying I'm not, I'm not
- 1:13:12saying I don't like her, But if you're going to come out and
- 1:13:14you're going to attack me on the show and tell me I'm an idiot
- 1:13:17and I don't know what I'm talking about, and then when I
- 1:13:20made my points right and then you don't, hey, you know what?
- 1:13:23You don't want to come on the show.
- 1:13:24You don't want to speak about it.
- 1:13:26You're ducking and weaving it to me.
- 1:13:28That just tells me you're running from the truth.
- 1:13:31You're running from what you are.
- 1:13:31You're a reporter. Speak about it, argue about it,
- 1:13:34or even come on the show and say, Errol, you were right.
- 1:13:36Thank you. You know, you were right about
- 1:13:38it. And that's all I'm saying.
- 1:13:39I. Think you're an idiot and I
- 1:13:40still come on the show? Oh.
- 1:13:42Thank. You on a On a side note, leave
- 1:13:43it to the Nets to get a consistently durable pitcher
- 1:13:46hurt twice in that same season. Well, you know, stupid is a
- 1:13:50stupid. I mean up.
- 1:13:50To that point he had been durable though.
- 1:13:52I know that. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:13:53Like leave it to come to the best to have two.
- 1:13:55He pitched well that year when he was healthy.
- 1:13:57I'm just saying I was right at the time I was.
- 1:14:00Wheels. Wheels fall off eventually for
- 1:14:02everybody you know. Does the wheels fall off?
- 1:14:04That's for sure. Anyways, Anyways, moving on,
- 1:14:07ladies and gentlemen, we call this the deuce of the day.
- 1:14:09The deuce of the day. You log.
- 1:14:12Not a log. I don't have a log.
- 1:14:14But you know. All right ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:14:23my deuce of the day goes to the one and only Angel Reese.
- 1:14:27As the story gets bigger, you guys are going to love this post
- 1:14:32moves Candace Parker and Aaliyah Boston Oh, you guys are going to
- 1:14:35love this. So Candace Parker and Aaliyah
- 1:14:39Boston 2X NBAWNBA players came out and attacked Angel Reese.
- 1:14:44You have to protect your team and your organization no matter
- 1:14:47how you feel, Parker said, adding There were so many bumpy
- 1:14:52rides with the sparks that I've had and I think the best advice
- 1:14:58I've ever received is keep things in house.
- 1:15:02You can yell, scream, cuss, do all of those things in between
- 1:15:08these walls, but you can't bring it out.
- 1:15:11The former two time WNBANVP and three time IT champion said to
- 1:15:18me, Angel Reese and and by the way, Angel Reese recently was
- 1:15:23she wasn't allowed to play in the first half of the game and
- 1:15:27then she decided after the first half she wasn't going to be
- 1:15:31playing the second-half of the game.
- 1:15:33She decided to not come out with the team and sit in the locker
- 1:15:37room and not come out with the team and play the rest of the
- 1:15:40game. And it just shows you the type
- 1:15:41of person she is. This is a woman that's getting
- 1:15:44has a huge Reebok deal with Shaquille O'Neal now and
- 1:15:47Iverson. They trusted enough to put
- 1:15:49everything on her shoulders and a girl that's very well
- 1:15:52respected, was very well respected in the WNBA.
- 1:15:56And then the stories come out even worse when she's throwing
- 1:16:00her own teammates under the bus. And now you have WXWNBA players,
- 1:16:05some of the most well respected ex WNBA players coming out in
- 1:16:09Candace Park and Aliyah Boston and throwing you under the bus
- 1:16:12and saying you don't come out, you don't throw teammates under
- 1:16:14the bus. She keep it in house.
- 1:16:16It only tells me one thing. When is she going to get traded?
- 1:16:20Does any other team want Angel Reese after dealing with what
- 1:16:24she said about Caitlin Clark as she's thrown Caitlin Clark under
- 1:16:27the bus, She's thrown many different players including her
- 1:16:30own teammates under the bus. What does this spell for the
- 1:16:32WNBA? What does this spell for Angel
- 1:16:34Reese in the future as a WNBA player and only spells nothing
- 1:16:38but havoc for her. So my deuce of the day goes to
- 1:16:42Angel Reese and her stupidity on throwing her own teammates under
- 1:16:46the bus and not keeping it in house.
- 1:16:48So that would be the deuce of the day and it's getting worse.
- 1:16:51The stories are getting worse because she is becoming a
- 1:16:54conceited egotistical maniac and she doesn't want to take
- 1:16:58responsibility for all the things that she is doing on and
- 1:17:01off the court. Thank you to all the fans on all
