- 0:02Speaker 2: Glad to have you with us, and as always, we
- 0:07avail ourselves.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I'll let you check the text line because I'm still
- 0:10waiting to get my clearance clearance. I'm waiting with this
- 0:14new laptop to get everything worked out where I can
- 0:16actually pull up the text line on the new computer
- 0:21that I have engaged right now. But you still have
- 0:24access to that, so I'll let you examine that. If
- 0:27we have pertinent questions that we need to get to,
- 0:29we'll do that. And also, by the way, next hour
- 0:33will be your opportunity to find out the keyword. If
- 0:36you are interested in having an opportunity to win tickets
- 0:39to see Tom Segura, it's not till next.
- 0:41Speaker 1: February, but you can get in the drawing for it.
- 0:45Next hour. We'll get to that.
- 0:46Speaker 3: So it always text us at eight one to five
- 0:48three's show Text to word. Text is followed by your
- 0:50message one one message. A couple come in asking were
- 0:55there a larger amount of Detroit Lions fans at the
- 0:58Cowboys game on Sunday.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I'm sure there were no more than usual than when
- 1:02you have opposing team fans come in somebody.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good about that. There were a lot of
- 1:07Alliance fans there.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Another texture asking, not even asking, it's more of a comment.
- 1:12Listening to the Jerry Jones interview on one oh five
- 1:15three of the Fan, this makes me think Jeane Jones
- 1:19deserves an award for being married to that man all
- 1:22this time. He must be a joy to be around.
- 1:26I'm sure he was more fun to be around, you know,
- 1:28twenty five years ago, thirty years ago.
- 1:32Speaker 2: If you're Gene Jones, he probably wasn't more fun to
- 1:34be around twenty five thirty years ago.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Maybe not knowing what was going on.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, sure, it's probably the same when it comes
- 1:43to that.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Another texture seeing the book, that's uh, the Ghost of
- 1:47Darkness is based on the man Eaters of Tsavo.
- 1:51Speaker 1: That's it is excellent.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah, so I thought that's my amazons.
- 1:56Speaker 1: There you go, and the movie's pretty good too. Al Kelmer,
- 2:00Michael Douglas.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Michael Douglas is like it's like the old, the old
- 2:04grizzled Hunter that's there specifically because because of the chill
- 2:09he wants to get. Yeah, Val Kilmer is just trying
- 2:12to get the railroad done, and these lions are just
- 2:14attacking this village and of the railroad workers and just
- 2:17eating them alive. It's it's like nineteen ninety six, I
- 2:21think it is something like that when it comes out.
- 2:23So yeah, it's pretty intrigued. So that what they were
- 2:26doing is examining the teeth of the actual lions they
- 2:32had and finding things about and they're trying to find
- 2:35out why those suble lions were man eaters as opposed
- 2:40to a lot of the regular lions of the bush
- 2:44and of Kenya and Uganda and all of Africa, who
- 2:51do not kill for sport, they and do not normally
- 2:55attack men for food. Their food is of a different variety.
- 3:02But these lions had a different idea. So that's that's
- 3:06what all that research was about. This is pretty fascinating
- 3:10research I think going on.
- 3:12Speaker 1: So did you watch the You did? You watched the
- 3:19bill Jets? Yes? I was gonna ask you if you
- 3:20watch the Monday night football game last night? So you did?
- 3:24I did?
- 3:24Speaker 3: In a good bounce back game for Josh Allen. I mean,
- 3:27the Bills had lost two in a row. Allen was
- 3:29just abysmal against Houston in the not really rematch, but
- 3:33the you know, Josh Allen's Von Diggs game that a
- 3:36lot of people are looking forward to, only had what
- 3:38like nine completions, thirty plus pass attempts, but looked a
- 3:41lot better. Bill's red zone offense looked good three or
- 3:44four and the Jets, I mean, they they had their chance.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Now.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Of course, when you fire your coach, you don't want
- 3:52to face one of the best teams the next week, right,
- 3:54So they're in a tough spot facing a Buffalo team
- 3:57that's coming off of two losses. You knew Buffalo is
- 3:59gonna be ready to go in that one, and the
- 4:01Jets didn't look bad. But the thing is, you know
- 4:05when you look at a new coach and there's so
- 4:06many little things you want to see get cleaned up,
- 4:08like penalties, right, and there was a penalty in every
- 4:10single play of that game last time, and that that
- 4:12just could have been the officiating crew.
- 4:14Speaker 1: But that last Jets drive was brutal.
- 4:16Speaker 3: It felt like every play there was a flag, and
- 4:19of course it culminates in the Aaron Rodgers interception targeting
- 4:23Mike Williams gets picked off, and then the next day
- 4:27we have the DeVante Adams trade. So that's what I
- 4:31think two games now where Mike Williams and Aaron Rodgers
- 4:35have been on the wrong page led to an interception.
- 4:37You can probably tell Rogers went into the front office
- 4:40and said, I'm done with this guy, get him out,
- 4:43get me DeVante Adams. But I think if you're a
- 4:45Jets fan, you feel okay about the game now. They
- 4:48certainly could have won it. And also the kicking last night, Craig,
- 4:51I mean, we saw one of the worst point after
- 4:55attempts of all time from Tyler Bass.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And for those of us who have Tyler bassan football team.
- 5:01Fortunately I didn't need those points to win. I already
- 5:04had things locked up, otherwise I would not have been happy.
- 5:07Speaker 3: So you know how last weight we talked about the
- 5:09win probability stat making fun of it on the ESPN
- 5:12Baseball Scoretiker, where it just the win probability of.
- 5:15Speaker 2: A ninety one and then like two pitches later it's
- 5:19had eleven percent or thirteen percent because it just wildly fluctuates.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And I said that just below that is the win
- 5:26probability on the ESPN Fantasy app, which lets you know,
- 5:30a few weeks ago I had like a ninety eight
- 5:31percent chance of winning I lost. Well, it flipped because
- 5:35yesterday going in, my team had an awful week for
- 5:38some reason. I had Exavier Hutchinson started, he got zero points.
- 5:42Seahawks defense minus two. I had Pat Firemouth and over
- 5:45Mark Andrews he got three points. I had a ninety
- 5:48nine percent chance of losing yesterday. But Alan Lazard caught
- 5:52a fifty two yard Hill Mary touchdown, Josh Allen had
- 5:56three touchdowns, and my buddy, who was playing, he texted
- 6:00me we're no longer friends because I ended up waiting
- 6:03five four points last night. So possibilities the most useless stat.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So the Jets lose, you know who they play next?
- 6:14Tell me the Steelers? Okay, And Mike Tomlin today said
- 6:20Russell Wilson is quote in consideration in quote to start
- 6:24against the Jets. He said he'd make his choice between
- 6:27Wilson and Justin Fields as the starting quarterback closer to
- 6:31game time. That's the way he described it. Closer to
- 6:34the game time. So we'll see how that develops as well.
- 6:37All right, up next, we'll talk football of the collegiate
- 6:40and high school variety in the state of Texas. Greg Temper,
- 6:42managing editor of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine joins us
- 6:45next when we continue on Sports Radio AM thirteen under
- 6:48his own of the iHeartRadio app.
