- 0:32Speaker 1: may have heard of a little song called shots and
- 0:36Speaker 1: party Rock Anthem. Well, those songs are now the foundation
- 0:41Speaker 1: of a brand new LMFAO jukebox musical.
- 0:44Speaker 5: This musical, Party Rock Anthem brings all the music you
- 0:49Speaker 5: know and love of LMFAO to a theatrical stage.
- 0:53Speaker 6: Musicals are a celebration of story and music come together,
- 0:57Speaker 6: especially at jukebox musical with a power full artist behind it.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Let's listen in.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Damn, this is fucking awesome, guy, so cool, this is
- 1:08Speaker 5: fucking rock this moment right.
- 1:11Speaker 4: I'm gonna be honest with you, guys.
- 1:13Speaker 5: I'm sorry if I smell like shit, I feel like
- 1:15Speaker 5: I've been running all day.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Well, you're sexy and I'm I would love that.
- 1:20Speaker 5: We'd love to say that to each other on the team.
- 1:22Speaker 5: This is fucking dope, guys. This ship's fucking dope, and
- 1:25Speaker 5: I'm so fucking excited.
- 1:26Speaker 1: It's fucking amazing. This ship's fucking amazing, and I'm so
- 1:29Speaker 1: excited about it. And I couldn't be more excited to
- 1:32Speaker 1: have a freaking team with me because I'm in Miami, bitch, right,
- 1:39Speaker 1: That's right, that's pre Broadway and the Miami Regional Theater
- 1:45Speaker 1: that we all know and love.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we are workshopping this show in Miami, bitch,
- 1:51Speaker 5: bitch bit. We're at the Miami Sun Theater right on
- 1:57Speaker 5: the beach. We've been there for three weeks of are
- 2:00Speaker 5: we got three more months to work out the kinks
- 2:02Speaker 5: and hopefully we're taking our asses to Broadway Broadway.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Okay, well, well, we are obviously the creative team behind
- 2:11Speaker 1: Party Rock Anthers. I'm Jenna Fou. I am a producer
- 2:18Speaker 1: of this musical, and I am by a few degrees
- 2:24Speaker 1: removed related to red Fu of Party Rock anthems.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Did you guys hear that?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Damn that damn royalty?
- 2:35Speaker 4: Wow?
- 2:35Speaker 1: We bow down down, you know, I try and keep it.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Up, guys.
- 2:44Speaker 5: My name is Stevie Shred's that's my YouTube name.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I am the book writer for this.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I wrote the script for this, came up with the
- 2:53Speaker 5: fucking sick ass, wicked idea that ended up being this
- 2:56Speaker 5: whole show because this seems gotta have a narrative. Yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 5: this is what I've been told so, and I actually
- 3:02Speaker 5: am a Red Food's tenant in the guest house behind
- 3:08Speaker 5: his house. So it's really fucking sick to be here. Like,
- 3:12Speaker 5: it's awesome, and I'm really proud of this thing. I'm
- 3:16Speaker 5: really fucking proud of this thing.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Damn, what's up, y'all.
- 3:20Speaker 6: It's me Vanessa Sugeons, not Vanessa Hudgens, Vanessa Tougins.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Because she's always touching.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Aha, that's awesome. I don't know what that means, but
- 3:29Speaker 3: it's awesome.
- 3:30Speaker 4: She's always touching.
- 3:31Speaker 6: I'm always touching, more likely touching my toes because I'm
- 3:34Speaker 6: a dancer, y'all, choreographer, and I'm helping the boys here
- 3:37Speaker 6: with a little bit of music direction on the side.
- 3:40Speaker 6: I am been in the business for about thirty years,
- 3:44Speaker 6: grew up in Le Mez, been around the fucking block,
- 3:47Speaker 6: and I'm so happy to be in Miami.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Bitch in Miami bitch.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Hey, guys, what's up. I'm Kyler Josh Fine, just graduated
- 4:01Speaker 2: usc At Theater School and got cast in this amazing musical.
- 4:07Speaker 4: She swooped him up.
- 4:08Speaker 1: She swooped him up, swooped.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It was so fun, a dream come true. And yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 2: I'm playing the lead in this musical. I don't know
- 4:15Speaker 2: what I can give away.
- 4:16Speaker 4: But well, we can give away your character's name.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Pits, Pits, So I am playing Pits. He's
- 4:24Speaker 2: kind of a kooky guy. He really really loves partying
- 4:29Speaker 2: and he loves music. And I don't know what else
- 4:32Speaker 2: I can say.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Well, you're really you're really stressed about the end of
- 4:36Speaker 3: the way.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You're really nervous. I'm really nervous. I just graduated college.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Pay buddy, Buddy, you're not gonna blow it, Kyler.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Honestly, we're the disruptors, right like you came in on
- 4:47Speaker 5: the right crowd, because we're trying to kind of blow
- 4:50Speaker 5: the fucking you know, Dusty Dentures off of Broadway.
- 4:56Speaker 1: We're gonna blow him right out of their freaking crusty
- 4:58Speaker 1: old mouths. And I got a Kyler you have nothing
- 5:02Speaker 1: to worry about because you were such a disruptor. I
- 5:04Speaker 1: actually found Kyler at the USC graduate student showcase for
- 5:09Speaker 1: the theater program.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I was just the audience. I was in the audience, yes,
- 5:13Speaker 2: but he.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Was shouting so much, and so I was like, who
- 5:18Speaker 1: is that fucking kid? He has got something. This is
- 5:21Speaker 1: a party rock guy.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I just love monologues. I go crazy for a good monologue.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And I wanted to show the graduates who were like
- 5:28Speaker 2: in the graduate program that like the underground had their back,
- 5:32Speaker 2: like so incredible. I just wanted to support these guys,
- 5:35Speaker 2: give them love, give them acted. So I was like,
- 5:38Speaker 2: whoa after every monologue and like even some during it.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Like incredible he was.
- 5:44Speaker 1: He was shouting along a little bit of Hamlet while
- 5:46Speaker 1: it was happening. Just to show back up for this guy.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'll tell you.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Before we got here to Miami, we were at the
- 5:53Speaker 6: La Joya Playhouse for just a little bit of some
- 5:55Speaker 6: like big number working Laoya Bitch.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Yeah, three days there, We're there for.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Three days and the Loyal Playhouse. If you don't know it,
- 6:04Speaker 6: if you are not a theater person, it shares a
- 6:08Speaker 6: backstage with some of the stages. It has multiple stages,
- 6:11Speaker 6: and we're shouterers here in our party Rock Anthem company,
- 6:15Speaker 6: So we are disruptors and we are shouters. So backstage
- 6:18Speaker 6: during our pre show, we are motherfucking shouting.
- 6:22Speaker 1: That production of street Car named Desire was not happy
- 6:26Speaker 1: with us.
- 6:26Speaker 4: No, they weren't, no way, but that's the past.
- 6:29Speaker 5: Like they they were unhappy with themselves because they can
- 6:32Speaker 5: keep up with the future of what we're up to.
- 6:33Speaker 5: So it's really fucking sick. It's really amazing looking around.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I feel like such an energy because Broadway has never
- 6:40Speaker 5: seen anything like this. You know, I'm hoping that we
- 6:42Speaker 5: get into the August Wilson Theater. I think that's really
- 6:44Speaker 5: gonna shake everything up.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It's that'll blow the dentures off. The place.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Going to be littered with dentures.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah, by the time we're done, I'm just so excited,
- 6:54Speaker 2: like to be attached to something that's like so new
- 6:56Speaker 2: and so shaking up, and like I love the story
- 7:00Speaker 2: of this musical and I don't I don't know how
- 7:02Speaker 2: much I can give away about it.
- 7:03Speaker 5: We'll give it all the way to Kyler. I love
- 7:05Speaker 5: your energy, by the way, and I keep coming forward
- 7:06Speaker 5: with this. People are going to try to knock you down.
- 7:08Speaker 5: As you keep going in this industry, people are gonna
- 7:10Speaker 5: keep trying to like make you not be who you are.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Keep this always just because it's exciting to see. This
- 7:16Speaker 5: is refreshing, right, don't we feel refreshed by this?
- 7:18Speaker 4: Are you kidding?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Of course?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, this dude's a fucking shout and that's why I
- 7:22Speaker 1: found him.
- 7:22Speaker 3: You're a disruptor.
- 7:23Speaker 6: You will go into a Thanksgiving dinner and say, let's
- 7:26Speaker 6: not be thankful, let's disrupt.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I just want to say, like now that I have
- 7:29Speaker 2: the second to do it, like, and I know I
- 7:31Speaker 2: tell you guys this all the time, but I look
- 7:32Speaker 2: up to all of you guys so much and like,
- 7:35Speaker 2: thank you for giving me this opportunity.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Like, of course, of course, Kyler, you rock man.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I mean you change everything. You change the room when
- 7:41Speaker 4: you walk in.
- 7:41Speaker 1: You.
- 7:41Speaker 5: I've been lucky enough to go to some USC parties
- 7:43Speaker 5: with you and and.
- 7:45Speaker 2: When I'm glad you could come, I'm so glad you
- 7:48Speaker 2: invited me.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I think you invited me as a joke. And I said,
- 7:51Speaker 4: I don't take invitations as jokes.
- 7:53Speaker 2: It's not a joke.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Yeah, awesome, because I saw you take one jellow shot
- 7:57Speaker 5: and you were on the fucking roof like you are
- 8:00Speaker 5: so fucking bad.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And he's a lightweight, which I think is awesome.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yes, exactly, that's awesome.
- 8:05Speaker 3: We need more lightweight to musical.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But I would love to hear more.
- 8:08Speaker 5: About the So let me tell you, guys about what's
- 8:10Speaker 5: going on in the show and what we kind of discovered.
- 8:12Speaker 4: So we realized this music would fit.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Really well into a modern retelling of Dante's Inferno. No, yes,
- 8:20Speaker 5: but it's the Nine Circles of Hell as set in
- 8:24Speaker 5: a Las Vegas pool party.
- 8:26Speaker 2: So so smart.
- 8:27Speaker 5: It's really smart, and it's really brave, like Nobody's ever
- 8:31Speaker 5: kind of reimagined Dante's Inferno like this, And it's the
- 8:35Speaker 5: kind of thing where it's we're ready for it, We're
- 8:37Speaker 5: ready for something new, and the Nine Circles of Hell
- 8:39Speaker 5: you get farther and farther in.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And I think most people were surprised when, like they
- 8:46Speaker 1: first saw it because they didn't expect the concept to
- 8:48Speaker 1: be actually pretty good. I think they weren't expecting that.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I think they were just expecting some ham fisted elements
- 8:56Speaker 1: own songs, but.
- 8:57Speaker 2: The Green Day Jukebox musical or something like that right, yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Right, totally, like try to make it fit around there.
- 9:03Speaker 5: The thing is, I listened to that music so much.
- 9:05Speaker 5: I listen to that music when I'm sitting in the
- 9:06Speaker 5: guest house. Red Food plays it constantly, and it hit
- 9:10Speaker 5: me one day, Yeah what if I was in hell?
- 9:12Speaker 5: And that's when I realized this story would be perfect
- 9:15Speaker 5: for this showcase.
- 9:15Speaker 6: This is such a different jukebox musical because this music,
- 9:19Speaker 6: like with Billy Joel music or Green Day music that's
- 9:21Speaker 6: like a genre and a time Lamfao is timeless and
- 9:26Speaker 6: around always always, So that music we have to show
- 9:31Speaker 6: a different version of it because it's it sounds like
- 9:34Speaker 6: elevator music to an American because we hear it all.
- 9:38Speaker 1: The time, exactly, because sometimes we're like, oh, like i
- 9:41Speaker 1: am not a horror is playing and you're like honkshoo, honkshoo,
- 9:44Speaker 1: time to go to bed, because it's just constant, you know,
- 9:47Speaker 1: because you're like shopping it forever twenty one and that's
- 9:49Speaker 1: just the current state exactly exactly.
- 9:52Speaker 4: And the thing is, there's two ways to go to
- 9:54Speaker 4: the jukebox musical.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Right when I kind of when I pitched this idea,
- 9:58Speaker 5: it's a Red.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Food because this was my and he's been going with it.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Every knock on his door, like from the.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Fact, Yeah, I knock from the kitchen door and I said,
- 10:05Speaker 5: hey man, I got an idea for you. It just
- 10:07Speaker 5: hit me and I had done my research and I'd
- 10:10Speaker 5: set everything up beforehand. There's two ways you can go.
- 10:12Speaker 5: You can go with the Billy Joel. You can go
- 10:14Speaker 5: with the American idiot. You can go with the on
- 10:16Speaker 5: the nose right beat be beep.
- 10:18Speaker 4: This is a musical called moving Out.
- 10:20Speaker 5: We're just going to be having a guy who looks
- 10:22Speaker 5: like Billy Joel Angel, Yeah exactly, just like very very obvious.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Or you can go with the Mama Mia the head
- 10:31Speaker 5: over heels. You take another story, you find a new
- 10:34Speaker 5: adventure and I.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Went on its head.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Yeah, and let's reimagine it and see it in the
- 10:37Speaker 5: way we've never seen before.
- 10:39Speaker 4: You know what is uh sexy?
- 10:42Speaker 5: And I know it as sung by a security guard
- 10:44Speaker 5: who is representing Cerberus, you know what I mean? Like,
- 10:47Speaker 5: that's that's what I'm looking for, and that's what we found.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Which I'm so fucking excited that we fucking found that.
- 10:55Speaker 4: All of us found that.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You found that, you found that, and we all found
- 10:59Speaker 1: in our own.
- 11:00Speaker 6: I think in each generation of the show, it's being written, right,
- 11:03Speaker 6: like you are writing that fearless fucking book and you
- 11:06Speaker 6: come in and you are rewriting this in all these ads,
- 11:09Speaker 6: like how do you how do you put an ad
- 11:11Speaker 6: campaign together for this?
- 11:12Speaker 3: I don't know, like nuts?
- 11:14Speaker 6: And then I'm rewriting it with our bodies and you
- 11:17Speaker 6: are rewriting it with your mother fucking soul.
- 11:20Speaker 2: No way, No, you.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Have to reject one of our compliments.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Again, I'm gonna give you the biggest fucking wet Willie
- 11:28Speaker 5: ever felt.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay, okay, what is.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It for you?
- 11:31Speaker 6: Like just experiencing like selling this fucking music? Because the
- 11:34Speaker 6: budget on this thing is ginormous.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's ginormous. And I think what we had to do
- 11:41Speaker 1: because as we know, like Broadways Denture City, right, it's
- 11:45Speaker 1: the dusty, dusty Denture Capitus.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Both the dentures off the roof.
- 11:50Speaker 1: So what what I had to do? I had to
- 11:53Speaker 1: think outside the box because obviously these old people were
- 11:56Speaker 1: not going to go for something like this unless I
- 11:59Speaker 1: had a pit that was gonna do it. And I
- 12:02Speaker 1: really pitched this as what are you afraid of? Fuck?
- 12:07Speaker 1: What are you? What are your deepest fears. I pitched
- 12:11Speaker 1: this as a horror for them. I pitched this as
- 12:14Speaker 1: do you want to be fucking scared? This is what
- 12:17Speaker 1: he'll do it. It's the music of LMFAO is going
- 12:21Speaker 1: to deeply terrify you. I played them the song yes
- 12:25Speaker 1: over and over again, like yes, the party's working, Yes, Yes.
- 12:30Speaker 1: And see the amount of old people who fainted back
- 12:34Speaker 1: in their chairs upon hearing it because it was so
- 12:37Speaker 1: terrifying to them.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Repetitive.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, they fainted and then they took out their checkbooks.
- 12:41Speaker 4: You should have seen this shit.
- 12:42Speaker 5: We used to have to go into these pitch meetings
- 12:44Speaker 5: and these financing meetings. We used to have to buckle
- 12:47Speaker 5: them into their seats because they were getting hurt.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Now, how did you get Monster Energy on board?
- 12:52Speaker 7: Oh?
- 12:52Speaker 1: They were on board without with like three words. They
- 12:56Speaker 1: didn't know. They told me afterwards. They didn't even read
- 12:59Speaker 1: the body of the email. They just read the subject
- 13:01Speaker 1: line that said laoja I heard.
- 13:03Speaker 2: They wrote you back. They started writing back right at
- 13:06Speaker 2: lmf They just didn't even read it.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I got a response within thirty seconds that said yes,
- 13:11Speaker 1: And so how.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Did you know they wanted to break into the musical
- 13:14Speaker 3: theater world.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It's just a sense. When you're a producer, it's your
- 13:20Speaker 1: job to anticipate what things are gonna happen, and so
- 13:23Speaker 1: we did. We heavily featured Monster Energy in this show,
- 13:28Speaker 1: as you guys know. But it wasn't hard, like it
- 13:32Speaker 1: was almost a benefit to us. A lot of times
- 13:34Speaker 1: with ads and with the sponsorship, you have to like
- 13:36Speaker 1: find a way to work it in and it's kind
- 13:38Speaker 1: of clumsy, but this is a symbiotic relationship. This is
- 13:44Speaker 1: bringing Monster Energy to the elderly, which is a market
- 13:47Speaker 1: they don't have. We have what they need. You.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Well, I was just gonna say what we found in
- 13:54Speaker 5: the device because the whole thing about musicals, everyone has
- 13:57Speaker 5: a different philosophy of who's singing?
- 13:59Speaker 4: And why are we singing? Can everybody in the room
- 14:02Speaker 4: hear me singing? Am I singing? My inner thoughts?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Why is this a song? Why is the style?
- 14:06Speaker 5: We found the device? Every time you drink a monster,
- 14:09Speaker 5: you start belting l mfao. So they all chug a
- 14:12Speaker 5: monster and start going kyler. How's that process for you?
- 14:16Speaker 2: It's been so fun. I'm a big fan of Monster
- 14:18Speaker 2: Energy drink.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I love that.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Like I try to use water for the first couple
- 14:22Speaker 2: of days, but it just it wasn't working for you, guys.
- 14:25Speaker 2: So I quickly made the switch to actual Monster energy drink.
- 14:28Speaker 2: So I'm drinking like eight or nine because we are
- 14:30Speaker 2: running through water.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Wasn't giving them twitches.
- 14:34Speaker 4: It was bad. Water was bad.
- 14:35Speaker 6: I wasn't getting like the eye twitches when someone's overly caffeinated.
- 14:39Speaker 3: I wasn't getting that. And watching that you need that in.
- 14:42Speaker 2: The in the p Yeah, I mean this, this performance
- 14:45Speaker 2: is a dream come true for me. I mean, like
- 14:46Speaker 2: the whole blocking process and building a show from the
- 14:49Speaker 2: ground up. I've never experienced anything like that other than
- 14:52Speaker 2: like when I was in the ninth like my freshman year,
- 14:55Speaker 2: I was in a short film and we were kind
- 14:57Speaker 2: of building that together.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It feels so fun, way different than that.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so different. Actually it is so much better.
- 15:05Speaker 2: It's so But how did it, Like you guys meet though, like.
- 15:09Speaker 1: We Well, I'm a distant cousin of red food.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Yeah, so she was over four.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I was over for Shabbat and you know, I'm over
- 15:21Speaker 1: a lot because every week. Yeah, I'm over frequently. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: so I know the family very well because I'm in
- 15:32Speaker 1: it and sky Blue who was obviously Red Food's nephew,
- 15:37Speaker 1: the second member of l M F a O. He
- 15:40Speaker 1: no longer comes around because of the feud, and so
- 15:45Speaker 1: everyone in the family was sort of forced to take
- 15:46Speaker 1: a side. Everybody along the like third fourth cousins, even
- 15:51Speaker 1: everybody had to take a spot. And it split us
- 15:54Speaker 1: right down the middle. And it got to a point
- 15:57Speaker 1: where because I was like, Skyblue, you're awesome, You're a
- 16:00Speaker 1: great kid. But I had to flip a coin because
- 16:02Speaker 1: I couldn't choose, and so I had to go with
- 16:06Speaker 1: Red Food. But I think it led us to a
- 16:08Speaker 1: good direction because he really wanted to do this musical
- 16:12Speaker 1: and he had the idea for it, so we went
- 16:15Speaker 1: behind it. But yeah, I was over at the house
- 16:17Speaker 1: and I think the first time we met you were
- 16:21Speaker 1: you were in the guest house.
- 16:22Speaker 5: I was in the guest house. I accidentally lit my
- 16:24Speaker 5: fucking shirt on fire.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Yeah, because I was seeing and I was like, that
- 16:29Speaker 1: guy is dancing so good.
- 16:31Speaker 5: That guy ran I ran out smoking smoke. Alarms went off.
- 16:34Speaker 5: I jumped into the pool and you were there, and
- 16:39Speaker 5: then we didn't see each other for three or four
- 16:40Speaker 5: more years.
- 16:41Speaker 3: You crate that pan really high with the for the eggs.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I like to cook eggs hard. I like to cook
- 16:47Speaker 5: them until they're hard, right right. I just don't like
- 16:49Speaker 5: soft shit in my mouth. Like I go hard all
- 16:51Speaker 5: the time, even with eggs.
- 16:52Speaker 1: So right right, right, right, right right.
- 16:54Speaker 5: You know, I like to cook him up in My
- 16:55Speaker 5: shirt was just too long for what I was cooking with.
- 16:58Speaker 5: So that's just kind of what happened. But that's kind
- 17:00Speaker 5: of when we met later, I think at a some
- 17:04Speaker 5: sort of industry event.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and then for Ravers in Broadway, that's what it was,
- 17:09Speaker 1: a networking event for Ravers and broad Yeah, rib and
- 17:13Speaker 1: we met because there was a there was a fountain
- 17:17Speaker 1: of uh it wasn't chocolate and it was it was
- 17:22Speaker 1: Nike Weill That's what it was. Because they had they
- 17:25Speaker 1: had Niquel fountain and then they had like a little
- 17:28Speaker 1: dish of molly but it baked into candy that you
- 17:31Speaker 1: could have, So it was a little something crazy.
- 17:34Speaker 5: It was wild Us. It was Shyanne Jackson. Who are
- 17:38Speaker 5: the other Ravers in Broadway?
- 17:39Speaker 1: Ravers in Broadway, it was well scrill X was there
- 17:43Speaker 1: because he was briefly involved in Pippin and so he
- 17:49Speaker 1: was there for it.
- 17:51Speaker 6: In like amazing I mean your newest raver on Broadway
- 17:54Speaker 6: Beany Feldstein.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Yes, yes, he hit the scene hard and fast.
- 18:00Speaker 8: That's why she burned. She hasn't been to Ribbon, it's
- 18:02Speaker 8: so crazy. Hasn't been a rib when she first got
- 18:04Speaker 8: cast and Funny Girl she came. She picked up a
- 18:08Speaker 8: big hand, a big pile of pixie to us as
- 18:12Speaker 8: we call it, and she said, this is the only
- 18:14Speaker 8: music that makes me dance. Funny Girl, holy shit right
- 18:18Speaker 8: in front of us, and we were having a blast.
- 18:20Speaker 1: And she showed up in full rave gear, handied out,
- 18:25Speaker 1: candied out bracelets, totem of like uh, it was like
- 18:31Speaker 1: it was like a giant like Saturn.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Remember I think she went home with Joel Gray that
- 18:36Speaker 4: that night.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that was crazy. She was crazy. I can't
- 18:41Speaker 1: believe they did that.
- 18:43Speaker 6: I love Joel Gray and I love Beanie. What a
- 18:46Speaker 6: good com Can I.
- 18:47Speaker 5: Just say the fact that we got Joel Gray in
- 18:48Speaker 5: this show is so amazing. How is it amazing to
- 18:51Speaker 5: work with the original wizard himself? Cabaret.
- 18:54Speaker 2: He's so good.
- 18:55Speaker 3: It's come in bitches.
- 18:58Speaker 2: He is so so good when we do uh that.
- 19:02Speaker 2: He is kind of the party rock like he is.
- 19:06Speaker 2: He's taking me through the layers. So he is the
- 19:10Speaker 2: party rock and as you guys know, every LMFAO song
- 19:13Speaker 2: includes the word party rock in it or or surrounds
- 19:16Speaker 2: the theme of party rock. So he has he's in
- 19:19Speaker 2: all of the things and just getting to know like
- 19:21Speaker 2: a pro like that and like being opened up to
- 19:23Speaker 2: a world and a guy who is kind of over it,
- 19:26Speaker 2: you know, like he is very it. There's a reason
- 19:29Speaker 2: he's not here today.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Yeah, well there's a lot of reasons.
- 19:32Speaker 5: It gives me fucking chills when I see him do
- 19:34Speaker 5: because we have him come in with some solos and
- 19:37Speaker 5: he's the the legendary every day I'm shuffling right, everything
- 19:42Speaker 5: stops and you can talk about that because that's in
- 19:45Speaker 5: obviously party rock anthem, the opening song. It's also middle
- 19:49Speaker 5: of act one song, into Act one song, and then
- 19:52Speaker 5: middle of back two song and finale song.
- 19:54Speaker 2: It's reprised.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's it's.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Different every time, and the middle of act two reprise
- 19:59Speaker 1: of it is absolutely heartbreaking. The duet that you have
- 20:05Speaker 1: with oh my gosh, our co star, I can't remember
- 20:09Speaker 1: her name, Seezy the girl, right, I remember because we
- 20:13Speaker 1: kept changing it back and forth between Steezy and Slee's bag,
- 20:18Speaker 1: and so I couldn't.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Totally not decide, We could not decide he is great,
- 20:22Speaker 6: he is really Palmer, she went straight from the.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Jordan Peele movie on a pre probably member that, yes.
- 20:29Speaker 1: That duet that you have, that second act reprise duet
- 20:33Speaker 1: that you have of every day I'm chuffling with Kiki
- 20:35Speaker 1: Palmer is absolutely heartbreaking. The way that you guys harmonize
- 20:38Speaker 1: your the choice to slow.
- 20:39Speaker 2: It down, the choice to slow it down and play
- 20:42Speaker 2: it slowly, and heartbreaking.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Every day I'm shop.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Well, let's talk about that.
- 20:50Speaker 6: I love somebody, Yes, yes, And we talked to the
- 20:54Speaker 6: boys about that.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I talked to the guys about that.
- 20:56Speaker 6: When we are workshopping a lot of the music and
- 20:57Speaker 6: the workshops that we were presenting to Monster and presenting
- 21:00Speaker 6: two investors, it was like, we gotta we gotta hear
- 21:04Speaker 6: dynamics in LMFAO, and that though we get LMFAO's spirit
- 21:09Speaker 6: in their albums, you don't need dynamics from them because
- 21:11Speaker 6: they are dynamic in themselves.
- 21:13Speaker 3: But in a musical, we have a beginning of middle
- 21:15Speaker 3: of an end.
- 21:15Speaker 6: We have peaks and we have valleys, so we need
- 21:19Speaker 6: we need a parking bark. As we say in our business,
- 21:21Speaker 6: we need a moment where a character stands and proclaims
- 21:24Speaker 6: their emotion out. It's hard to sing LMFAO's music and
- 21:29Speaker 6: not move your body, so we have to slow it down.
- 21:31Speaker 5: Have I need to bring that scene up because that's
- 21:35Speaker 5: reprisal four of party Rock Anthem. That turns into a
- 21:39Speaker 5: dream ballet under the wavepool, right, And so the choreography
- 21:43Speaker 5: that you did.
- 21:44Speaker 2: For that so beautiful.
- 21:45Speaker 5: It knocks my balls into my fucking ass when I
- 21:48Speaker 5: see it.
- 21:48Speaker 4: It's so good.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I appreciate that.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I love.
- 21:51Speaker 6: I love when men respond to choreography and they and
- 21:54Speaker 6: their balls shake.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I'm not gay, but I like choreography.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I love that, and I love the yeah say yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 6: And I'm glad to say that yeah yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 3: We also, I mean every day I'm shuffling.
- 22:05Speaker 6: The second you approached me about like adding so much
- 22:08Speaker 6: movement and just life to this piece, I remember realizing,
- 22:11Speaker 6: like the first thing came to my mind, every damn shuffling, shuffle,
- 22:14Speaker 6: tap shuffle.
- 22:15Speaker 3: We got to make this a tap piece.
- 22:17Speaker 6: And then I sat down with you and you said,
- 22:19Speaker 6: hold it right there, sister, let's sit down and talk ideas.
- 22:23Speaker 5: Here.
- 22:23Speaker 6: Yeah, and then I realized a tap dance number to
- 22:26Speaker 6: every day in shuffling to that part of the song
- 22:30Speaker 6: is not deconstructing Broadway. It is not disrupting Broadway. What
- 22:36Speaker 6: is swimming in a pool? Lyrical dances, That's what's going
- 22:40Speaker 6: to like that is.
- 22:42Speaker 2: A lot of work to do under a pool, like
- 22:44Speaker 2: you know, and and also ballet. I'm not professionally trained
- 22:47Speaker 2: in ballet. Yeah, it's been.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Really hard to figure out the dynamics of that wavepool
- 22:53Speaker 5: and the machine that makes the waves is so loud.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And we get into it every single day, even
- 23:00Speaker 2: though it's like I've almost jan a couple of times.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I'm happy to put my body on the love.
- 23:04Speaker 1: That energy, I will say, was very intent on it
- 23:08Speaker 1: being a real pool, monster filled.
- 23:13Speaker 6: When we had the Monster Energy, we ran out of
- 23:14Speaker 6: Monster when we had the wave pool pitch.
- 23:17Speaker 3: We were out of money from Monsters. So you went
- 23:19Speaker 3: to rock Star.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yes, yes, say yes. I went to Rockstar Energy, and
- 23:23Speaker 1: they really really really wanted a pool, and like we were,
- 23:26Speaker 1: because we were going to do it like traditional ballet
- 23:28Speaker 1: style where there's these beautiful like silk things that were
- 23:32Speaker 1: blowing and it's supposed to symbolize pool. But they were like,
- 23:35Speaker 1: fuck that, we're an energy drink company. What the fuck
- 23:38Speaker 1: is a silk sheet gonna do for us that doesn't
- 23:41Speaker 1: sell energy drinks?
- 23:42Speaker 3: And didn't you pit them against each other?
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a bidding war.
- 23:45Speaker 5: It was a bidding war within our own production. Last
- 23:47Speaker 5: ship was risky as hell, and I love you.
- 23:51Speaker 1: That's what we're doing. We're disrupting. We're disrupting. We're saying
- 23:54Speaker 1: these two sponsors are giving us money. It's just like
- 23:56Speaker 1: and bid against each other.
- 23:58Speaker 2: That part, for me is like such a crazy show
- 24:00Speaker 2: because the pool is filled with rockstar energy drink and
- 24:02Speaker 2: then they're Monster energy drink motorcyclists that do flips over
- 24:06Speaker 2: the pool and I'm holding my breath for dear life.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Waves like eight foot waves are hitting because it's a
- 24:13Speaker 2: full wave pool.
- 24:14Speaker 6: Well, I also think we should shout out our incredible
- 24:18Speaker 6: set designer who designs a salee okayond Mommy.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Stefan Mommy bitch, motherfucker. I mean Steffan Mommy came in
- 24:32Speaker 5: with some incredible stuff, especially because that specific segment, you know,
- 24:36Speaker 5: we in monster versus rock stars all happening on the stage.
- 24:38Speaker 5: It kind of felt like uh, somebody dealing with two
- 24:42Speaker 5: Christmases from recently divorced parents. It felt like they were
- 24:45Speaker 5: fighting against each other in a massive fucking way. And
- 24:48Speaker 5: I can relate to that, you know what I mean.
- 24:50Speaker 5: So that was like really crazy. Steffan had to come
- 24:53Speaker 5: in and had to had to lump all that together
- 24:56Speaker 5: and connect it and make build those bikes.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you build the bikes, build.
- 24:59Speaker 2: The gold the motorcycle.
- 25:01Speaker 4: I couldn't believe it.
- 25:02Speaker 5: When I want a completely original motorcycle, he said, And.
- 25:09Speaker 1: We can't just get one. We have to buy all
- 25:12Speaker 1: the parts. And he also the way that he sort
- 25:14Speaker 1: of flipped the set upside down, like deconstructed in each act.
- 25:19Speaker 1: So it's hard to describe, but the set sort of
- 25:22Speaker 1: flips in ane of itself because we're going into another
- 25:25Speaker 1: layer and it sort of becomes this like noises Off
- 25:29Speaker 1: style thing where at the very end we are backstage
- 25:33Speaker 1: of Miami's Hell. We are in like the essentially the
- 25:39Speaker 1: Devil's backstage for Hell. That's where they keep all the
- 25:43Speaker 1: hell stuff that they aren't using at that time. It's
- 25:45Speaker 1: introduced that there's a storage closet where all the demons live.
- 25:49Speaker 4: It's a greater metaphor for the banality of evil.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yes, yes, at beautiful like a great beautiful moment, and like,
- 25:55Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but you.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Can't say anything you want, and.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Like one of my favorite moments to get.
- 26:05Speaker 3: On board or get off, to get the motorcycle or
- 26:09Speaker 3: get off, get it away pool or get out, because
- 26:12Speaker 3: I can go.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Back to USC and find another.
- 26:15Speaker 2: No, no, I'll pick people at those parties.
- 26:18Speaker 6: I could throw a diamond, find a kid yelling at us,
- 26:20Speaker 6: like no, I'm so into.
- 26:21Speaker 1: It special, but come on.
- 26:24Speaker 2: So one of my favorite moments of the show, One
- 26:26Speaker 2: of my favorite momentes of the show is I thought
- 26:29Speaker 2: you were did such a beautiful job. And it was
- 26:30Speaker 2: both the combination of your choreography and your beautiful writing.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Where where there's that line and where little John in
- 26:38Speaker 2: the song shots goes all the alcoholics put your hands up,
- 26:42Speaker 2: and I put my hand up and the music cuts out,
- 26:44Speaker 2: and I realize that's why I'm here. I'm walking down
- 26:51Speaker 2: the steps of hell to deal with my alcoholism.
- 26:55Speaker 5: Saying is alcohol and we're saying alcoholics go to hell.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Here is the thesis statement of this show. A common
- 27:02Speaker 1: misconception about LMFAO is that we are pro drinking. No,
- 27:06Speaker 1: LMFAO is a morality tale. It shows you what not
- 27:11Speaker 1: to do. Anytime they're saying sorry, my bitch through a
- 27:14Speaker 1: hissy fit about my whiskey dick, that is showing you
- 27:18Speaker 1: don't drink alcohol. It is poison.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Can I tell you who believes this is why you're
- 27:24Speaker 6: so fucking brilliant and the best producer I've ever met,
- 27:26Speaker 6: who believes that alcoholics are going to help energy drink creators?
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, because you know there was that viral thing
- 27:34Speaker 1: that went around that the Monster Energy was actually the
- 27:38Speaker 1: symbol of the devil or the symbol of the beast.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Sometimes it's actually the opposite.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Oh you did that?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fun.
- 27:46Speaker 4: It just like I like disrupting every time.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that is disrupting because Monster Energy turns out as
- 27:51Speaker 1: a deeply Christian and deeply sober organization and that's why
- 27:56Speaker 1: they're an energy drink, and not because I sat down
- 27:58Speaker 1: with the CEO a while because we he was so
- 28:00Speaker 1: excited and we sat.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Down fucking too.
- 28:02Speaker 1: We were fucking so I sat down on his penis
- 28:05Speaker 1: and we had a discussion and we were talking about it,
- 28:14Speaker 1: and he was like you know, I have everything in
- 28:17Speaker 1: the world. I have the money, I had the funding,
- 28:19Speaker 1: and like I was born into money, I got these investors.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I'm a brilliant entrepreneur. I could have made the most
- 28:26Speaker 1: insane whiskey or tequila or vodka, but I didn't because
- 28:31Speaker 1: I'm sober, and so I poured it into the opposite
- 28:36Speaker 1: of a depressant, which is a stimulant. And what is
- 28:39Speaker 1: more stimulating than a monster energy drink.
- 28:42Speaker 5: And I'm not here to judge any of these people, right,
- 28:44Speaker 5: I don't know what they're talking about most of the time.
- 28:47Speaker 5: But I am here to make lemonade out of whatever
- 28:49Speaker 5: lemons they're fucking around with. So that's what I'm up
- 28:52Speaker 5: to with this musical, and I think we're doing a
- 28:54Speaker 5: great job of that.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I mean, it's a beautiful story just about like the
- 28:57Speaker 2: trials and tribulations of partying, but how you can pay
- 29:00Speaker 2: party sober, you can party rock with your sopriety. You know,
- 29:04Speaker 2: let's talk about the.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Eleven o'clock number, because we're talking about sobariety.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Let's talk about it. Well, let's and and we haven't
- 29:11Speaker 5: mentioned this yet. Red Fou wrote fifteen original songs. They
- 29:16Speaker 5: all sound identical.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, they're all pretty much the same. I thought they
- 29:20Speaker 1: were from the original album the first thirteen times I
- 29:23Speaker 1: heard it. Then I realized, oh wait a minute, this
- 29:25Speaker 1: shit is new.
- 29:26Speaker 6: And that's what's amazing is that we have brand new
- 29:28Speaker 6: stuff that feels familiar.
- 29:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're gonna you're not gonna know for a
- 29:32Speaker 5: second you hadn't heard it before.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and so that's the same shit.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Well, and that.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Eleven o'clock number, as you were saying, is so powerful
- 29:39Speaker 1: because it is that big, sobriety turning point moment where
- 29:43Speaker 1: it's like, oh God, what's gonna happen? And so red
- 29:46Speaker 1: Fu reimagined shots as like this deeply haunting number and
- 29:51Speaker 1: he added a lot of new lyrics.
- 29:52Speaker 2: It's great. Can we play it? Is that cool?
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, this is so. This is footage from last
- 29:58Speaker 1: night's rehearsal.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the song. No shots, no shots, no shots,
- 30:04Speaker 2: no shots, no shots, no shots, no shots, no shots, shot.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Shot shot, shot, shot shot shot.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Party rock, party rock, party, I don't know, party rock.
- 30:20Speaker 4: What's happening part party rock?
- 30:23Speaker 3: Party rocky, party rock.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Rock.
- 30:27Speaker 7: Everybody up, good time rock and we can make.
- 30:33Speaker 1: It lose yr.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Everybody.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Shots have a good time. Shot shots, shot shots, shot shots,
- 30:43Speaker 2: shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shots.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Everybody, Welcome to the pool party.
- 30:53Speaker 6: I just think it is first of all, I commend you.
- 30:57Speaker 6: I don't know whose idea it was to bring on
- 30:59Speaker 6: the like a vocal coach for everybody, because even though
- 31:02Speaker 6: everyone is really trained, the amount of scrouching in the piece,
- 31:06Speaker 6: we have to untrain them.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was. I mean I'm not musically trained.
- 31:12Speaker 2: I just have a very strong voice. Yeah, so I
- 31:15Speaker 2: had to do a lot. Well, actually it didn't have
- 31:17Speaker 2: to do that much work. It was actually pretty easy
- 31:19Speaker 2: to sing the songs. A lot of it was just
- 31:21Speaker 2: me recording one thing of my voice and then you
- 31:24Speaker 2: guys repeating that a million times. Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 6: Yeah, to which we do have a Broadway original Broadway
- 31:29Speaker 6: cast album that we are laying down too.
- 31:32Speaker 4: It's available at Sears.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we're just doing like a little releasing it already.
- 31:38Speaker 5: We're releasing it at Sears. You can go to Sears.
- 31:41Speaker 5: We have a specific exclusive deal with them, so you
- 31:44Speaker 5: can get it there.
- 31:44Speaker 1: But not just Sears. It's the Sears and Encino, it's
- 31:47Speaker 1: the Seis in San Diego.
- 31:49Speaker 3: You're limited Sears.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we're all my cousins work. It's really fucking exciting.
- 31:54Speaker 4: I'm so excited.
- 31:55Speaker 5: And then hopefully if it picks up, we'll get more
- 31:57Speaker 5: sales and all that stuff.
- 31:58Speaker 4: But I'm just so fucked and pumped.
- 32:00Speaker 5: I mean, there's so much good in this and I
- 32:02Speaker 5: think we are going to change the world with it.
- 32:04Speaker 5: And I mean the acting process to get into this,
- 32:07Speaker 5: we haven't even talked about that. We were taking you
- 32:09Speaker 5: guys out, you know, we were like, run this musical, now,
- 32:11Speaker 5: run this at a rave, Run this musical at in
- 32:15Speaker 5: the ocean.
- 32:15Speaker 6: Rehearsals from seven to eleven every night, and then you
- 32:18Speaker 6: guys head out. You guys, put on your chubbies, those
- 32:21Speaker 6: bright shore.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And chubbies, you book, get the fuck out.
- 32:26Speaker 6: Of the rehearsal space, and then you guys come back
- 32:28Speaker 6: like coped out of your mind the next morning.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, we had the Nutritions come in and
- 32:34Speaker 5: watch you guys. Turns out, you guys burned eight thousand
- 32:36Speaker 5: calories every time we.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Run the show. Yeah, and well it's actually times by
- 32:40Speaker 2: two because all of them the caffeine.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, but the risk of.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Heart attack for this show is something we had to
- 32:47Speaker 1: factor into the budget, so we do have a lot
- 32:50Speaker 1: more EMT.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Standing by, and our insurance is fucking balls crazy. It's
- 32:54Speaker 4: nice come on.
- 32:55Speaker 6: Bikes and a wavepool plus aorta issues and have to.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I mean, Joel Gray alone is hanging on by a
- 33:01Speaker 3: threat exactly.
- 33:01Speaker 2: He already had a couple of strokes.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Joe Gray literally looks like a worm with a head
- 33:06Speaker 5: on it right now. He's burning so many galleries.
- 33:09Speaker 4: What a way to go out, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I also would love to talk about that incredibly haunting number.
- 33:19Speaker 1: It's and it just gets really into this sobriety thing again.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Sorry for party rocking, oh, which comes around the end
- 33:28Speaker 1: of act one and it's just you on stage, just
- 33:32Speaker 1: really really wrestling with yourself. You are so sorry.
- 33:36Speaker 2: In that thank you, thank you. I mean a lot
- 33:39Speaker 2: of that is coming from pure exhaustion at that point,
- 33:41Speaker 2: because the show has been going for two hours at
- 33:44Speaker 2: this point, and you know, I'm exhausted. We're running around
- 33:47Speaker 2: all these hells, and I think for my character, for Pitts,
- 33:50Speaker 2: he's realizing how how low he's gotten for partying. You know,
- 33:55Speaker 2: he's an alcoholic because his father was an alcoholic, because
- 33:59Speaker 2: his mother was an alcoholic, but he's still going to hell. Yeah,
- 34:04Speaker 2: even though it's generational, he's still going to help. And
- 34:08Speaker 2: I will say you helped me so much with the
- 34:10Speaker 2: internal because your understanding of choreography for that number was
- 34:14Speaker 2: so simpil if you if you don't mind talking about that,
- 34:16Speaker 2: I can go into my acting stuff because I feel
- 34:18Speaker 2: like a lot of it was about.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Your choreography because in corporate fist bumps is in a
- 34:22Speaker 5: way I've never imagined.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I remember being I'd love to hear that.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I'd love to play the song for people because the
- 34:27Speaker 1: fist bumps are very audio like. You can hear the
- 34:30Speaker 1: fist bumps with it.
- 34:31Speaker 3: I think we have a track of Kyler doing the
- 34:33Speaker 3: fist bumps.
- 34:33Speaker 6: Let's play that, Okay, Sorry, do do Do Do Do
- 34:41Speaker 6: Do Do?
- 34:44Speaker 3: Sorry?
- 34:45Speaker 2: Party rocking, Sorry for party rock.
- 34:56Speaker 7: I'm sorry Dad, Sorry for party Oh.
- 35:10Speaker 6: I love that number so much and the way we
- 35:12Speaker 6: can hear you hitting the ground and hitting the air,
- 35:15Speaker 6: it's incredible. I took a lot of inspiration when we
- 35:18Speaker 6: first took had our meetings. I was I sat with
- 35:22Speaker 6: just how basic all of LMFAO's choreography is and just
- 35:26Speaker 6: their body of work.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Right because they are not particularly dancers, they're not even particularly.
- 35:33Speaker 6: And they move in a way they go, they move
- 35:35Speaker 6: in a way, but that way is the same way,
- 35:39Speaker 6: and that's what you're dealing with here, is like just
- 35:41Speaker 6: again dynamics. And I was thinking, like, okay, repetition, the
- 35:46Speaker 6: same thing over and over and over again. How can
- 35:49Speaker 6: I do this fist pump in basically every single number,
- 35:53Speaker 6: and how do I keep that going? And I went
- 35:55Speaker 6: back to the Queen of repetition. I used to study
- 35:58Speaker 6: her in dance school. Peinabauch, We we love Peanut.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Peanut Bouch.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Was actually a huge red Buffu fan.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I don't know if you guys know that, No fucking.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Way allay in Berlin, she had them come out to Berlin.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I played for Kyler and the whole gang. I
- 36:14Speaker 3: played these little pixelated.
- 36:15Speaker 6: Videos I've never seen, like the Depths of Berlin, the
- 36:18Speaker 6: depths of Berlin. I think it was in a meat
- 36:20Speaker 6: locker and one girl's going over and over and over.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Oh Cafe barleos.
- 36:26Speaker 6: Yes, And I said, what does that look like, guys,
- 36:29Speaker 6: that looks like a fist pump?
- 36:33Speaker 1: Yes?
- 36:33Speaker 6: And what is beautiful about Peana Bousch's work? Is her
- 36:37Speaker 6: understanding of repetition. And that's what I.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Really really made us repeat. I mean, there was probably
- 36:42Speaker 2: three weeks where we were just fist bumping, and every
- 36:45Speaker 2: single time we did, you would say, no, you're not
- 36:48Speaker 2: hitting it right. You've got to hit a little bit tighter,
- 36:50Speaker 2: a little bit better.
- 36:51Speaker 5: It was my fucking mind. You're fucking ship man. I
- 36:54Speaker 5: mean the way your brain knocks my balls into my
- 36:56Speaker 5: fucking mouth.
- 36:57Speaker 6: You're so but I love when men say that I
- 37:00Speaker 6: move their balls. Thank you, I love and thank you
- 37:03Speaker 6: for saying that.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Just like Hell.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Yeah, of course I wanted to mention too, for all
- 37:08Speaker 5: the LMFAO heads.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Shuffle Bot does make an appearance.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, got we got.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Shuffle Bot does make an appearance.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Is on the seventh ring of Hell.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Shufflebot is Hell once you get to you know, at
- 37:23Speaker 4: the very choice.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it's more of shufflebots Inferno if you will.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 5: And he comes in and I can't tell you how
- 37:31Speaker 5: incredible Aaron Tobate is as shuffle Bot. He is so
- 37:36Speaker 5: amazing and I can't believe. You know, we did kind
- 37:39Speaker 5: of a King George thing where we had you know,
- 37:43Speaker 5: it's a great role. You get an incredible actor. You say,
- 37:45Speaker 5: you're so talented, Let's have you on stage for ten
- 37:48Speaker 5: minutes and we'll give you three million dollars a year.
- 37:50Speaker 4: That's what we're doing with it.
- 37:52Speaker 3: And he's now he's doing Death of a Salesman down
- 37:54Speaker 3: the Road.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Yeah, he is.
- 37:55Speaker 3: And he'll come and he'll come in.
- 37:57Speaker 6: I think the stage manager calls him at like ninety
- 38:00Speaker 6: nine forty five, comes in, does his thing goes back
- 38:02Speaker 6: as Willie Lowman.
- 38:03Speaker 4: He's happy. Yeah, it's great. It's fucking dope.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I'm so excited about this.
- 38:09Speaker 1: I can't wait to go to get this thing to Broadway.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I mean, can we talk about like we are.
- 38:16Speaker 2: So close I can taste it.
- 38:18Speaker 1: We are that there are just a couple of kinks.
- 38:22Speaker 3: We have to worry about money less.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I think we do well. Okay, there are a couple
- 38:28Speaker 1: of kinks that I feel like I should talk about.
- 38:30Speaker 1: This is a budget thing. It's also a okay at
- 38:33Speaker 1: the very end, you know, we it's obviously a morality
- 38:36Speaker 1: play about sobriety. At the very end, we hand out
- 38:41Speaker 1: fifteen hundred of the King James Bible to every single
- 38:44Speaker 1: audience member who's there as a sort of believe to
- 38:48Speaker 1: leave them with a lasting impact of what the show
- 38:50Speaker 1: is trying to say. And a lot of people didn't
- 38:53Speaker 1: take too kindly to that. They felt like we were
- 38:56Speaker 1: trying to push LMFAO's agenda on them, their highly religious agenda.
- 39:02Speaker 1: And so I think that might be one very expensive Yeah.
- 39:06Speaker 2: It was very fifteen brand new King James Bibles is
- 39:10Speaker 2: very But also.
- 39:11Speaker 6: This, what's the difference between that and the Blue Man
- 39:12Speaker 6: group selling blue T shirts?
- 39:14Speaker 4: Exactly, it's the same thing.
- 39:16Speaker 3: It's the same, and I showed me something different between
- 39:19Speaker 3: the two.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 39:21Speaker 5: I mean that King, I think is going to be
- 39:22Speaker 5: worked out in a second.
- 39:25Speaker 4: It's going to be obvious. The other King, which I
- 39:27Speaker 4: think is clearing up.
- 39:28Speaker 5: I bet you has even been cleared up while we've
- 39:31Speaker 5: been sitting here, Like I'll get an email and it's
- 39:33Speaker 5: all good. Red Food has rescinded the rights to all
- 39:35Speaker 5: the songs currently. But I think that's gonna kind of
- 39:39Speaker 5: blow over.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I think he's just I'm across that.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Is there a reason why he pulled it pulled it back?
- 39:47Speaker 4: Yeah, he saw it.
- 39:48Speaker 1: He saw the show.
- 39:49Speaker 4: That's the main reason.
- 39:50Speaker 1: The reason.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he didn't was it me?
- 39:54Speaker 3: Sorry?
- 39:55Speaker 1: Yler no, it was no, no, no, Kyler, No, it's.
- 39:59Speaker 6: There's so much in the show. It wasn't you the
- 40:02Speaker 6: last pie is you got to work out that.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I'm not worried about.
- 40:04Speaker 6: I think it will just naturally handle. Is that Kiki
- 40:06Speaker 6: doesn't want to do the show.
- 40:08Speaker 3: We'll figure it out.
- 40:09Speaker 2: That's gonna take.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Care of that.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I'm deeply across that. It's what. We're fine. We're fine.
- 40:14Speaker 2: It's the other giant I guess, tiny, tiny little is
- 40:19Speaker 2: in the after the second intermission. There's that giant automaton
- 40:25Speaker 2: of Little John that's just malfunctioning and caught one of
- 40:28Speaker 2: the actors and crushed them, squished them. Today.
- 40:30Speaker 4: That was difficult.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Yeah, our insurance has gone up significantly since then.
- 40:36Speaker 6: Sent family, We sent flowers Sallas Ripley's family, and we
- 40:40Speaker 6: feel we loved her.
- 40:42Speaker 5: I saw her in Next to Normal. I'm gonna miss
- 40:45Speaker 5: her so much. I thought she's incredible. Luckily, you know,
- 40:48Speaker 5: she made CDs of her stuff.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Around, she did covers.
- 40:53Speaker 1: We ever forever, everyone lives on through music, just as
- 40:57Speaker 1: the I mean, I was so sad when Red Food
- 41:01Speaker 1: and Skyblue broke up. I mean it literally the family
- 41:07Speaker 1: fe I was grieving a death. I bet USC had
- 41:11Speaker 1: to cancel classes.
- 41:12Speaker 2: It was awful. It was absolutely awful that that those
- 41:15Speaker 2: two weeks there was no parties. Everybody was just in mourning.
- 41:19Speaker 2: The fraternities. People did not Yeah, they wore masks and
- 41:22Speaker 2: they didn't like. The fraternities fell apart like there was
- 41:25Speaker 2: It was like almost like our grandfather had died.
- 41:29Speaker 4: That shit sucks.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Yeah, USC fell apart that We were like what do
- 41:33Speaker 2: we turn to? You know, who do we turn to?
- 41:35Speaker 1: But they live on through music, right. LMFAO released two
- 41:39Speaker 1: absolutely perfect albums.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Who else can say can say that they're so fucking good.
- 41:46Speaker 6: Lawless albums and so so consistent because it's the same
- 41:52Speaker 6: sound exactly.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Yeah, to release two albums. Were on both of the albums,
- 41:57Speaker 2: every single song says the words party rock in it
- 42:01Speaker 2: or has the themes about party. Party rock is insane.
- 42:05Speaker 2: It's a it's an art form unto itself.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Show me anyone else who has done that shit, No
- 42:11Speaker 4: one has.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Billy Joel only mentioned piano Man once.
- 42:14Speaker 4: Billy Joel talks about so many different things. I don't
- 42:16Speaker 4: even know what he's fucking about.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's so he's just like rambling.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like okay in encyclopedia, great, let me put
- 42:23Speaker 4: you on my.
- 42:23Speaker 6: Fuck he's an alcoholic.
- 42:25Speaker 1: What are we talking about? And that's why we're mad
- 42:28Speaker 1: at him? Listen? But I think to end on a
- 42:30Speaker 1: positive note, I do think that the thing that is
- 42:33Speaker 1: going to sail us straight to Broadway is that unforgettable
- 42:38Speaker 1: finale song, that unforgettable mashup sort of thing of all
- 42:44Speaker 1: of their different songs together in like a perfect harmony,
- 42:48Speaker 1: is so good and the motorcycles are going and it's
- 42:52Speaker 1: just so good. I would love to play that.
- 42:54Speaker 6: We shall play that before as we leave, and just
- 42:56Speaker 6: before we play it, just say, buy your tickets.
- 42:59Speaker 4: Now, get them now.
- 43:00Speaker 5: We have seven tickets available every show. You're gonna want
- 43:04Speaker 5: to fifteen hundred, King James.
- 43:06Speaker 2: But this is just the pre trial, so there's we're
- 43:08Speaker 2: only doing.
- 43:09Speaker 3: We can only have seven people near the way to.
- 43:13Speaker 5: The motorcycles ended up being a lot bigger than regular motorcycles.
- 43:16Speaker 1: So come to Miami.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Buy your tickets now and come fast, because monster energy
- 43:23Speaker 4: erodes metal.
- 43:25Speaker 1: All right, guys, gonna do we play that ship?
- 43:28Speaker 3: Play that ship party, rocky.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Girl.
- 43:35Speaker 5: Look at that body girl, Look at that body girl,
- 43:39Speaker 5: Look at that body work.
