- 0:01Speaker 1: All right here on Alex Garrett Podcasting the One Log
- 0:04Speaker 1: Up Network. Some of you may be wondering exactly how
- 0:08Speaker 1: I got to be on Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripper's
- 0:13Speaker 1: show twenty one years ago today on Live with Regis
- 0:18Speaker 1: and Kelly, following the major game winning home run walk
- 0:23Speaker 1: off homer in Game seven by Aaron Boone, will sit
- 0:27Speaker 1: down and stay well, I'll tell you because this was
- 0:33Speaker 1: a moment that was a culmination of weeks of seeing
- 0:37Speaker 1: Regis and Donald Trump up in George Steinberner suite and
- 0:43Speaker 1: in other videos with Regis, you see that he posted
- 0:48Speaker 1: about the picture showed the picture of Regis and I
- 0:52Speaker 1: at Yankee Stadium and then it was at the round
- 0:57Speaker 1: table of mister Steinberner. In this where Regis Hilman says
- 1:06Speaker 1: to my dad, looks at my dad and says, I
- 1:09Speaker 1: would like him on the show tomorrow. Can you come
- 1:11Speaker 1: on the show tomorrow? Because this was after the walk
- 1:14Speaker 1: off happened, and it was what do they call it
- 1:23Speaker 1: jubilation up in mister simon or suite after Aaron Bood's
- 1:26Speaker 1: home run, and my dad was a little nervous because
- 1:33Speaker 1: I also had school the next day at the Henri V.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Scarty School. I was in seventh grade at the time,
- 1:39Speaker 1: twelve years old. But Regis, I guess what, We'll get
- 1:43Speaker 1: you a car we'll put bring in the city and
- 1:45Speaker 1: out of the city to the Long Island. Well, sure enough, here,
- 1:49Speaker 1: my mom, my, dad and I were in the car
- 1:52Speaker 1: heading into the city early enough to be on Live
- 1:56Speaker 1: with Regis and Kelly. And then this moment happened twenty
- 2:03Speaker 1: one years ago today.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So let's talk about the game.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Why did the Yankees win? Well? First of all, Boone hands.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Great che Wasn't that a terrific home run?
- 2:15Speaker 1: Were you ever going to forget that as long as
- 2:16Speaker 1: you live?
- 2:17Speaker 2: No?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Funny enough, funny enough. Twenty one years later, in February
- 2:25Speaker 1: of this year, I was at a Talking Yanks event
- 2:29Speaker 1: with Aaron Boone before he went to spring training, and
- 2:34Speaker 1: I told him the story. Hey know what, I got
- 2:37Speaker 1: to talk about your homer on Live with Regis and Kelly.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And he was like really, And then I kind of
- 2:44Speaker 1: rolled away because people were waiting on line. I said yes.
- 2:47Speaker 1: So it was sort of a full circle moment to
- 2:49Speaker 1: get to meet the manager of the Yankees, who, by
- 2:53Speaker 1: the way, as this team two games away from the
- 2:56Speaker 1: World Series twenty one years later. So I'm very grateful
- 3:05Speaker 1: that we had this opportunity as a family, and I
- 3:07Speaker 1: had the opportunity to talk some baseball with Regis Philbin,
- 3:10Speaker 1: the Regis Philbin on the set of Live with Regis
- 3:15Speaker 1: and Kelly, and it's just part of the special run.
- 3:23Speaker 1: That's why when moments like what's been happening at Woodbridge,
- 3:26Speaker 1: where we get to meet all these Yankees, brings me
- 3:29Speaker 1: back to that era of just doors continuing to open.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It brings me back to that twelve year old day.
- 3:40Speaker 1: My friend Johnna actually posts about her in her child
- 3:44Speaker 1: the inner Yankee Fan, that was little Jona wanting the
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yanks to win for adult Jona and little Jonna. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: feel the same way, and it didn't hit me till
- 3:56Speaker 1: seeing it today that I've been a member of the
- 3:59Speaker 1: REVBX community and literally publicly representing for a long time.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So it's no question and no how do I say coincidence.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I now have a podcast to talk about all these experiences.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'm grateful for that too. We just thought our fifteen
- 4:19Speaker 1: years of the trajectory from the Sports Hour to one
- 4:24Speaker 1: leg up with Alex Garrett. But now I realized it's
- 4:27Speaker 1: the year sixteen. Let's keep the ball rolling. I just
- 4:29Speaker 1: posted up my interview with Caleb Vasquez Junior aka c
- 4:34Speaker 1: Underscore Money three oh one about his take on this
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yankees postseason run, being a Yankee season ticket holder for
- 4:40Speaker 1: the first time and being at this postseason games, what
- 4:44Speaker 1: it's all meant for him. You got to check that
- 4:45Speaker 1: out in the podcast section below this one. It's a
- 4:53Speaker 1: fun time in the REPBX world. It's even more fun
- 4:57Speaker 1: when you get to share these moments, the memories that
- 5:02Speaker 1: might be old news to others, but to and new
- 5:05Speaker 1: news to others. But it's my history, and after my
- 5:09Speaker 1: May hospitalization, I'm resharing stuff because it is fun to
- 5:14Speaker 1: commemorate these anniversaries year after year, because one day we're
- 5:18Speaker 1: not going to be physically here to honor them. So
- 5:21Speaker 1: why not honor them while you're here on the ground,
- 5:24Speaker 1: living and breathing and enjoying what we're seeing here in
- 5:30Speaker 1: New York City. That's just the truth of it. I
- 5:35Speaker 1: share these things because one day, long time from now,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I won't be able to in the physical so why
- 5:45Speaker 1: not leave these memories behind now while I'm here. While
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm here, well, anyways, it is Game three tonight, I'm
- 5:56Speaker 1: repping the Yankees turtleneck because I'm just stoked. I love
- 6:01Speaker 1: that the turtleneck is back. I remember when the Captain
- 6:03Speaker 1: wore now Judges wearing it. I used to wear it
- 6:06Speaker 1: around the camp school at Viscardi and I used to
- 6:09Speaker 1: I was on the set of Regis and Kelly in
- 6:11Speaker 1: the turtlenecks, so I wear it again. Feels like a
- 6:15Speaker 1: nostalgia trip right here, But so would winning it all
- 6:21Speaker 1: here in twenty twenty four. That's what would be special.
- 6:29Speaker 1: That's what'll bring nostalgia back to New York, a trip
- 6:32Speaker 1: down the canyon of heroes. Even more so than me
- 6:35Speaker 1: sharing this from twenty one years ago. We all have
- 6:38Speaker 1: an O three and oh four oh nine was special,
- 6:42Speaker 1: but this feels like twenty five, twenty four years ago,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and that magic led to back to back to back
- 6:51Speaker 1: World Series wins. I wouldn't it be nice to get
- 6:54Speaker 1: there as well and have one log up for you
- 6:58Speaker 1: while covering it all here on the world on UP Network.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And by the way, Katie Palazzo, thank you for that
- 7:06Speaker 1: bat and ball you had that signed back from Austin
- 7:08Speaker 1: Wells and then the ball was signed by the closer
- 7:12Speaker 1: of our day right now, Luke Weaver, And that's a
- 7:16Speaker 1: ball I'm gonna cherish for a long time now because
- 7:20Speaker 1: he could be closing these games of an American League
- 7:26Speaker 1: champion and maybe World Series champion that signed baseball that
- 7:33Speaker 1: we got at Wimbridge. Gabby and I could be five
- 7:41Speaker 1: names of a World Series team, five people of a
- 7:46Speaker 1: World Series team. How cool would that be? How cool
- 7:51Speaker 1: would that be? But one game at a time. They
- 7:53Speaker 1: got to win Game three tonight, and on the twenty
- 7:56Speaker 1: first anniversary of the aftermath of Boone's homer, how special
- 8:01Speaker 1: would that be? To keep the aura going with a
- 8:05Speaker 1: winning Cleveland go up three to Oho and then really
- 8:08Speaker 1: blow out the karma from twenty years ago and shut
- 8:11Speaker 1: the door up three to zero. That would be goals
- 8:16Speaker 1: for this REPBX Yankees community. I'm Alex Garrett enjoy Game
- 8:21Speaker 1: three tonight, and I'm so off, so thankful that Tampa,
- 8:27Speaker 1: the George Cybernerfield Gift Shop is normally is operating normal
- 8:32Speaker 1: hours because I don't know if you've been noticing, but
- 8:37Speaker 1: there have been a lot of gofundmes to support the
- 8:39Speaker 1: Hurricane Heleen and Hurricane Milton efforts. I want to bring
- 8:43Speaker 1: your attention to that before we sign off today, because
- 8:50Speaker 1: my friend Aaron sent me along three different links that
- 8:54Speaker 1: you should know about in the hurricane effort relief. Because
- 8:58Speaker 1: if you're gonna complain, I mean really, if you're gonna
- 9:01Speaker 1: complain about the federal government not stepping in a homely
- 9:05Speaker 1: hundred s, seven hundred fifty dollars whatever, then look no
- 9:10Speaker 1: further than what gofund me is up to. Grunk. Yes,
- 9:15Speaker 1: Rob Gronkowski is having his Hurricane and Hurricane Helene the
- 9:22Speaker 1: Milton Relief Fund with his business partner Chris Birch. I'm
- 9:26Speaker 1: gonna share in the link below to support those impacted
- 9:29Speaker 1: by Hurricane Helene and Milton. And of course he played
- 9:32Speaker 1: in Tampa, so this hits home for him. He was
- 9:35Speaker 1: a former Tampa Bay tight end and of course a
- 9:38Speaker 1: Super Bowl winner with him and Brady in Tampa, so
- 9:41Speaker 1: of course him pitching in we saw the roof of
- 9:44Speaker 1: Topicana completely destroyed. It's nice when athletes step up and
- 9:52Speaker 1: uh do things like this with their influence, their spot,
- 9:59Speaker 1: you know, their their stardom and their fame. Really, so
- 10:06Speaker 1: it's good to see you grown stepping up like this.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Rackston Barrios of the Miami Dolphins and his girlfriend Alex
- 10:16Speaker 1: Earl have a fund I'll drop that as well for
- 10:19Speaker 1: hurricane relief Milton and Helene. And then the Predators also
- 10:27Speaker 1: are chipping in and doing their hurricane relief for Helene.
- 10:31Speaker 1: In their October fifth game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Nashville
- 10:34Speaker 1: actually raised over seventeen thousand, five hundred dollars for disaster
- 10:38Speaker 1: relief from Helene via the Nashville Presurds Foundation. Find out
- 10:42Speaker 1: more in the link below from GoFundMe. So there are
- 10:45Speaker 1: three different places, and then I'll give you the portal
- 10:49Speaker 1: for gofund me hurricane relief because again, if you're tired
- 10:53Speaker 1: of feeling like the federal governmentment it's not stepping in, well,
- 10:58Speaker 1: that's where the community is stepping in in big ways.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So I'm going to share those links below. In the
- 11:03Speaker 1: podcast just released before Game three of the American League
- 11:08Speaker 1: Championship Series and Game four of the NLCS tonight at
- 11:13Speaker 1: City Field, Met's gotta win it or they'll be having
- 11:16Speaker 1: their backs against the wall heading into Friday. A lot
- 11:20Speaker 1: to talk about. Oh and by the way, sports one
- 11:23Speaker 1: wing up on sports, how about Sabria to I at
- 11:25Speaker 1: Escue with this shot yesterday last night to put them
- 11:31Speaker 1: up two to one against the Minnesota Links in the finals.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Are one game away. Ryan Ruco with the call.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Four seconds your Nescu will deed. Soprito your Nescu with
- 11:48Speaker 2: the biggest shot in Liberty history.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It's a shot. It's a call that we played over
- 11:54Speaker 1: and over again, so I wanted to jump in and
- 11:56Speaker 1: share that with you in case you will not letting
- 11:58Speaker 1: me know that the liber a game away from bringing
- 12:01Speaker 1: the WNBA Finals to New York, the WNBA Championship to
- 12:06Speaker 1: New York. I love October and this is all exciting.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And thanks for listening on this run of the Onelong
- 12:16Speaker 1: Up Alex Onelo Up Network. Talk to you soon. Enjoy
- 12:19Speaker 1: tonight's games, guys,
